Sixteen distinct beings were living about their daily lives as they normally did, though what constituted a "daily life" for each of them varied significantly. Sixteen existences were about to be completely upended, no matter how distinct each of those existences were. Despite how different they all were, they would all experience one very specific thing in common; someday, sometime, they would find that everything around them went completely dark. Whether they just went to sleep that night, were mysteriously knocked unconscious, or were on the verge of death, they all experienced a similar lack of consciousness that could have lasted forever for all they knew.

A moment later, or seemingly a moment later, they all woke up.

Consciousness returned, bringing with it light and feeling. All those who awoke found themselves in a soft but slightly uncomfortable single bed with nondescript white sheets. The room each awoke in was nothing special. There was one bright overhead light that illuminated white walls and a white tiled floor. In addition, each side of the room contained one white wooden desk and sliding doors that led to a standing dresser. If the dressers were to be checked, each would contain sets of clothing that each individual were used to. Of course, if one never did change their clothes or did not have a lot of clothing where they came from, the dressers reflected this as well.

Each room contained just a single locked door. No force was going to make it budge.

Rixia Mao

Rixia_Mao_-_Portrait_08_%28Zero_%26_Ao%29.png
"N-Nnn... What... Where...?"

Rixia Mao was in quite the daze. When she awoke in a mysterious, unfamiliar room, she was quickly at a loss of what to make of her situation. RIxia could only faintly recall the last thing she was doing before everything went black, and a shiver ran down her spine. Did she get kidnapped while she was asleep? No, there was no way someone could have gotten the drop on her like that, right? But then how did she get here, and who brought her here? And perhaps most importantly, where were her friends? Were they safe?

The endless questions swirled around inside the young woman's mind, which hardly helped the small headache she was feeling as she tried to adjust to being awake. As she sat herself up on the edge of the bed, she looked around at her surroundings, but saw that there was nothing distinctive about the room at all, no notable marks or insignias to showcase where she was or who her captors were. Certainly, if it was the Erebonians, there would at least be some sort of emblem on the wall, right?

With that, she wasted little more time sauntering over to the door and trying to open it, only to find of course that it was locked. Rixia didn't waste any effort trying to force it open, instead merely knocking on the door, wondering if there might have been anyone outside, like a guard or something like that.

"E-Excuse me! Is anyone there?!" She exclaimed, her actions in vain little did she know.

COVE HOLDEN

"Whu-whuh?"

A tall man with seafoam green hair awoke in this strange sterile environment. One he wasn't used to. It only took this spark for the man, Cove, to bolt up from his sheets.

"Oh god... wh-where am I?"

He made his way over to the door, trying his best to open it. It wasn't budging at all. He got rather frustrated with the door, slamming into it with his shoulder, yet still doing nothing.

Finally, he gave up, slumping against the door and collapsing onto the ground.

"Oh god... oh god... oh god... I'm gonna die locked in here..."

Stiles Stiliniski

Stiles wished he could remember what he was doing before he had arrived here, but his mind was just a big blank when it came to end of the moment that led him here. He couldn't tell you if he was with his friends or at a dinner. He looked down, clearly confused on why he was in what could be described as a red dress shirt, a red blazer and a pair of red jeans. " This is weird.... and so familiar, that's weird," he mumbled, looking in the closet first after he got out of bed to find his traditional attire.

He would take the moment to change out of the dress wear and into his traditional sneakers, jeans, black t-shirt and a grey hoodie, looking around, having the strangest feeling that the door wasn't open, he wasn't sure why he thought this as he would go and notice his ADHD meds and put them in his jean pockets for safety. " Guess I'll just wait," he replied, lying on the bed again and tapping on the wall.

Yotsuya, Miko

latest.png
Ow... Not good, not good, not good... A red dot lingered on Miko's cheek where she pinched just a second ago. It hurt. Dreams weren't supposed to hurt! This room where she awoke, despite saying good night to her family and residing in her bedroom just a night ago... Leaning against the wall, she quietly fiddled with her fingers. Her sensations were awake—this was real.

Could it be... Did she get caught by a spirit? Was this what happened when they noticed and caught someone? Speaking of... there was an apparent lack of said spirits. If they weren't the culprit, then, then...

This wasn't normal—not even the abnormal "normal" she knew.

The door was locked—exploration only yielded her usual lineup of clothes from the drawer, and she was trapped. Miko's stomach churned; a vomit-like sensation crept up. But she bit her lip, silencing herself by digging her face into her knees.

Maybe she hadn't closed her eyes long enough. Maybe the next time they opened, her younger brother would be stand over her bed, wondering why she slept past breakfast...

The night had been long after another successful Heartslabyul dorm unbirthday party, which Cater of course had to help run. While not really doing much himself, making sure the underclassmen got everything right was important and tiring work (he thinks). When all was said and done, he retreated back to his room for the night and collapsed on his bed littered with pillows. He scrolled through Magicam and various other social media platforms as per usual before eventually shutting off and drifting to sleep, expecting to have another day of classes ahead.

At least, that’s the last thing he remembered. But why did he have a strange sense he’d thought this all before?

Cater-in his half conscious state-tossed and turned, expecting to feel the weight of pillows at his feet and having them fall to the floor as per usual but felt no such thing. This was odd, but he didn’t really want to get up yet as it must have been really early since his alarm hadn’t gone off. A few minutes goes by before he realizes he’s not falling back asleep and decides to investigate the pillow oddity. He sits up and rubs his eyes with one hand, reaching for his phone with the other. He pats around the side of the bed where it would normally be left to charge but it was nowhere. He finally takes a moment to realize he’s not in his room anymore.

Cater jolts up, now fully awake. “Did I just take a trip to Wonderland?” He felt a twinge in his 83C1D297-4A3B-4C10-9FC8-3BFB7018ACC0.pngstomach briefly before shaking it off. That sentence felt too familiar.

The bland room was so not Cater’s style. The plain walls and limited decor just made him feel bored and perplexed. He calls out to his dormmates but gets no response in return. “Trey? Housewarden?”

Cater felt dazed and confused. Of course he was shaken by the situation he was in, but even more than that was the thought that something was wrong.

Wasn’t there supposed to be someone else in the room?

But why did he…

After a brief moment of silence where he simply observed his surroundings, he spotted a dresser. He pulled it open to find sets of his A5F2AE9B-19A9-491F-A652-80635A7B5478.pngdorm uniform, school uniform, ceremonial robes, and even some of his pop music club tees. Rummaging through, he hoped that maybe his phone would be in a pocket or something, but to no avail.

Nico Robin

For one certain woman, her definition of a "daily life" was a little.. odder than what most others would deem "normal". Though, that was likely a side product of being apart of one of the most insane Pirate Crews on the Grand Line.

As such, when Nico Robin awoke, she was taking it surprisingly well. She had only almost broken one of her limbs thrice in frustration. Watching the crew you had grown to cherish over being separated at best and killed at worse was agonizing. Even worse to not know their fates. And to add on, there was nothing she could do. The only thing left to do was to wait and observe.

And hopefully, find some answers.

[ Kagerou ]
Waking up in an unknown environment wasn't all that shocking to the once divine puppet. For all he cared, he could be in worlds far far away from Teyvat and even Celestia, and he wouldn't give a single damn. Since he was this wandering vagrant now, maybe this would've been the best course of action for his second chance at life. There was just one main problem of concern.

How in the gods did he even get here in the first place? And why?

Sitting himself up from the bed, Kagerou was quick to see his signature hat propped up on a nearby desk. He didn't waste any time on getting up and putting his hat on. Further investigation of this room only confused him more. The puppet was definitely sure that he never brought these extra sets of clothing, let alone actually own copies of his current and only outfit. As much as he didn't mind the absence of other people right this very moment, Kagerou didn't like being stuck in one room.

So when he decided to make way for the door, he was quick to notice that the door was practically locked shut. No matter how many times he tried to force it open, the door wouldn't give way.

As a frustrated last resort, Kagerou roughly kicks the door in hopes that it would just be sent off its hinges, but not even that would make any difference in this immovable locked door. He silently cursed his diminished power, as much as he vowed to turn a new leaf of some kind, he felt weird without the divine power he once had at his fingertips.

"Ugh, this sucks." Kagerou grumbles angrily to himself, going to sit himself back onto the bed once he was certain that even he couldn't do a single thing to open that door himself.

Nian

War... Yumen was almost always embroiled in it. Whether it was against enemies that have infiltrated, and planted themselves within... Or the demons of the North. The creatures best not named that tirelessly ravaged the lands.

The latter, was where Nian fought tirelessly.

Between the commission orders she had to fulfill for Yan's military, and her personal commitments to keeping Yumen safe, each day... Was quite tiresome, even for her.

A fiery, fragmented blade... Somehow held together by a force unseen. The mirage-like silhoette of a white, dragon-like beast roaring out into the desolate wastes.

'Demons' were but a pseudonym for the horrors that ran wild in these lands. They were formless, nameless. Or at least... Ideally, that's how they should remain. No matter how strong the will, no matter how pure the intent. To acknowledge these beings for what they truly were... Was to invite them into the world... And allow them to corrupt ones self from within.

Such was the fate of the frozen monstrosity that had once been a snowpriest... Seeking vengeance, for the demons that invaded her homeland, only to succumb to insanity, after she dared to let her mind linger too long on the nature of these beings. Long enough to hear one of their names...

The former priest's body had partially crystalized. But it gave off an icy cold aura.

It wasn't originium, nor black ice.

It was as if those 'crystals', were part of its body.

And in the end... Nian's blade, her 'ninth weapon concept' would win out.

As its form melted away... And the front lines were safe for the time being, she let out a quiet sigh, and prepared to take inventory of the deceased.

More stories to tell... Family's to comfort... And sad memories made that would haunt her for centuries to come.

But just then... She felt something calling to her, pulling her.

Fearing it was a demon seeking to use her as its host... To corrupt her, like it had that poor snowpriest... She closed her eyes, and focused her thoughts on her siblings, on her goals.
She couldn't die here. She couldn't fall.

She had to keep on... Existing, no matter what.

And then, everything went dark... As she realized too late, that what had called to her wasn't a 'demon' at all, but something entirely foreign, even to her.

The last thing she remembered, was feeling as if the heat, the very power within her that burned red hot... Had suddenly been sealed away, leaving little more than embers.

...

She gasped awake, realizing... The cold, frigid lands of Terra's northern regions were gone.

In its place, was the feeling of a slightly uncomfortable bed, and white room.

Was she taken prisoner...?

Calmly, she tested the door first, frowning as she realized... Her usual capacity to disassemble it was gone.

And she was... Weakened.

Enough that the door refused to budge, even after a few solid kicks.

She checked to see if her usual equipment was on her, before she carefully looked around, cleared her throat, and let out a loud shout.

0qbygbz.png

"Hey! Anyone there? I'll buy you a snack if you open up the door~!" She half sang.

Though she had her doubts there would be a direct answer.

In a place like this? It seemed more like... The doors would only open, when whoever was in charge of this place felt like it...

Despite the yelling and the noise in some rooms, not a single one could hear anything from the other rooms. All that could be heard was the eventual sound of the door unlocking.

*click*

It was just a small, tiny sound that somehow felt like it echoed throughout every room. Upon trying the door, one would find themselves entering into a hallway bathed in blinding white light. The floor was made up of simple white marble and all the floors were painted a sterile white. Upon every door that the group exited there was only a number engraved on the door that went from 1 through 16.

Each hallway that ran along the numbered doors connected to another hallway on each end. In total, four hallways made up a square. There were shiny metal doors opposite the numbered doors though none of these seemed to open in any way at the moment. The South hallway connected to four rooms, though these were also not opening. The only door that would open was the one in the North. It was an automatic door that slid upward upon sensing someone waiting on one side of it.

There was an electronic display above the door that read Laboratory Cafeteria.

Fushi
He was trapped, but after finding out that his prison was an iron one from the Beholder, he remembered learning that iron melted once hot enough. That could be done with Gugu's form. At least, that was Fushi's reasoning.

Making bricks under his feet until he had a pile big enough that he could stand atop it, he used the stone chameleon mask to let out a stream of flames.

Except it started to get hard to breathe, and Fushi began to grow dizzy, losing his footing and stumbling back.

Maybe it's poison? Was that why he felt odd?

Turning into Tonari hadn't changed the way he felt, and he grew confused.

"It's not poison." He panted out, unable to stand anymore.

"Your body lacks something it needs."

That was the voice of the Beholder, his blue eyes staring at Fushi, having observed him the whole time he was trying to find a way out.

Fushi couldn't stay conscious any longer as the Beholder spoke again, collapsing. All was quiet for only a moment before the top of the iron prison ground open and seconds later something was poured inside.

Fushi's eyes opened and he screamed as his ankle burned–

Then he was submerged.

"Molten iron. Oh, how terrible. Well Fushi, do you feel it? This is how hot it needs to be for iron to melt."

A hand burst through the molten mass, only to sink seconds later. The Beholder didn't blink, voice it's usual monotone.

"Unbearable, I can tell from the way you screamed. As your flesh begins to burn your body begins the process of regenerating itself. Which will happen first? Will your body vanish or will this iron become solid? I think I'm going to keep count to see how long you can bear it. 1, 2, 3…"

...

"112,049."

Golden eyes snapped open.

'What was I doing?'

Darkness consumed him once more.

He didn't know how long he'd regain consciousness, only able to wheeze out pained breaths and barely form a thought before losing his stream of consciousness again.

It was a painful, never ending cycle.

Yet, something had…changed.

How odd.

-------

Fushi's eyes snapped open and he gasped, consciousness returning to him after an unknown amount of time. He took a breath, and realized he could breathe and move.

'I'm not in Tonari's form? Did I change back?' he thought sluggishly as he stared at his gloved hands.

"Ah, a bed!" He blurted, feeling the bed under him. It's been a while since he last slept on a bed, how long had it been since he was taken by the Church of Bennett? Was he moved? They had him trapped in iron, it seemed unwise to move him after all the trouble they went to in containing him…

Did they still have Prince Bon and Todo? Was Kahaku alright?

"Black One?" He called softly, gaze flitting about the room expecting the Beholder to appear as he usually did, rising from the ground. Fushi felt confused, and hoped that at least the Beholder would give him some form of answer to what was going on. Even if it was vague.

Nothing happened.

"Black One?" He tried again, and again nothing.

"Weird." He grumbled under his breath.

The drawers held clothes ranging from dresses to pants and hooded fur cloaks. He was briefly confused, recognizing some of the dresses as one Prince Bon had given him while he went around as Joann in Parona's form, a few of them were similar to March's, and it seemed almost like every form he had had an item of cloth in there. Fushi frowned and closed the drawers and such when he found nothing of use.

Click

Fushi's head snapped up at the sound. Eyes landing on the door he hadn't noticed.

Everything was bright. Too bright. From the white room to the white halls. He grew more confused upon realizing that leaving the room didn't give him anymore answers on what was happening so far.

This was so weird.

The blue tiefling girl was mumbling loudly in her sleep. "Just a few more minutes, Fjord...Fjord?" She shot up like a rocket from the bed looking around the area. Her mind was racing going through multiple scenarios. Last thing she remembered was...what was the last thing that happened? She was at Veth's camp helping out and they came home and then...

*click*

Her eyes instantly darted towards the door and with a rush she went to push it open and entered the hallway. "Fjord. Fjord! FJORD!" This was not her beautiful house, and her lovable boyfriend was nowhere to be seen. So she had to ask herself...how did she get here?

"Oh!" A light popped into her head. She knew what she could do!

Looking around the area she spotted a indigo haired girl standing at her door. "Excuse me!" She ran up to her. "Hi! My name is Jester. I love your hair could you count the words for me please?"

Jester would try and cast a Sending spell to try and contact Fjord. "Fjord! Where are you?! I'm someplace reeeeaaaaally weird. Not alone, other people here too. One helping with message. She seems nice. Get back soon. Love you." With that she sent the spell into the aether hoping it would find its recipient.

"H-Huh? A-Are you talking to me?" Rixia could only blink in surprise as a strange looking... person(?) with blue paint all over her skin approached her almost immediately after the doors unlocked and she stepped out, barely given enough time to even register all the other unfamiliar faces that emerged from the other rooms.

Of course, Rixia's question was only answered in the form of continued talking, and it was all the indigo-haired girl could do to keep up with the eccentric woman's mannerisms. Once she finished sending what seemed to be an attempt at some sort of longform message -- how she was doing this without an orbment device, Rixia could hardly fathom, but then again, maybe she had no room to talk -- Rixia began to stammer uneasily.

"U-Um, ueeh, that was... 26 words, I think? Or... does the contraction for I'm count as two? Then it'd be 27, I think," Rixia said once the apparent message was over. One might ought to have considered it an impressive feat to have even been able to count the words on the spot like that, especially with the groggy, albeit fading, headache she had, but the young woman herself thought nothing of it.

"Erm, who's this Fjord? Who were you talking to? Is your friend here?" She asked, looking around sheepishly to see if there was anyone else paying the two of them any mind, though she quickly gave up when it didn't seem so, and more than that, no one else had blue on their skin. Suddenly, Rixia managed to remember the pickle of a situation she was in, and shook her head slightly, trying to force herself back on track. "Actually, would you happen to know where we are? I... um, don't remember how I got here, come to think of it, and this place doesn't even look like an Erebonian outpost..." She murmured, still struggling to try and make sense of this place.

Fushi
Fushi had been squinting, eyes adjusting to the brightness of the hall when a voice called out from next to him. Turning, he found himself in the presence of a stranger. At least, said stranger didn't appear to be someone working for the Church of Bennett.

It seemed that the other was just as lost on where they were as Fushi.

"No," Fushi answered frowning and crossing his arms "I don't. We might figure it out looking around though." He added, bringing a hand to his chin in thought.

She shot upright out of bed, and covered her mouth to keep herself from screaming. She had that same dream - falling, falling, then a sickening crack. The woman took a few deep breaths, processing her - wait, where was she?

She got to her feet, slowly, leaning against the bed for support. This wasn't the Manor, this wasn't- anywhere she knew of at all. Probably just a dream, but it wouldn't hurt to look around a little bit.

She opened the door, pushing her way into the hall - carefully, carefully. Where was Mark? Where were the little boxes?

"Hmph"

Arriving at the two girls, an old, haggard man stood near. His fish-like eyes stared like a duo. His arms fold across his waist as his head shifts towards the ceiling.

Mike, in his mind, was looking at this differently than most. Where ever he wasn't what he was thinking. Obviously, not where he was from. What was more important to the former cop was the how and the who. Who brought them here? How did they get here?

On a sheer technical level, this was a tremendous job, even just from what little Mike saw. This area alone had to cost a few million dollars in work hours and materials.

Studying the variety of people, it also had to take a lot of work to round everyone up. Mike concluded; play it by ear. Whatever, whoever took them held the higher cards. Trying to escape, or anything like that wasn't the right play for now

The horned woman, who was bluer than a blueberry, caught his eye. Her action was strange, not as odd as her look, but up there. Watching the girls, the man let his presence be known.

Cater continued investigating the room, though not so thoroughly.

*click*

He walked over to the door and when he tried it- It was open.

Cater kind of liked the nice cozy room and had started to get quite used to it, but he also noticed a lack of possibilities for entertainment, so he decided it would be best to avoid boredom by exploring. If there was any chance of getting his phone back and finding his friends, he had to take it.

He stepped into the blindingly white hallway, immediately doing a 180 to look at the door he came from. The door was labeled with the number 9.

He turned back around once more and leaned on the door. He was unsure of what to do next. Though he spotted some other people, he still lingered by his door though he had no idea why.

The others he spotted were clearly already engaged in conversation. Usually that didn’t stop him from attempting to insert himself in the situation and make new friends, but this time he stayed firmly planted by his door. While he waited for nothing in particular, he hummed a quiet tune.

"I'm Fushi." Fushi replied, though was a bit hesitant about working together. Before meeting the Guardiqn Force and eventually Prince Bon he had been so sure to remain alone. It was hard, watching those close to you die when you couldn't. Even with Bon and the Guardian Force's help now, he brought them trouble.

There was also the Nokkers to worry about, the thought of them made a feeling of unease bubble up that he quickly ignored. They hadn't attacked yet, so maybe for now people were safe. He couldn't have been here for too long if those monsters hadn't shown up, right?

Maybe Cove was right though, they all seemed to be trapped here so far and the quicker he got out the quicker he could help Bon and the others somehow.

"Look around, kid. I don't think any of us are leaving anytime soon."

Giving Cove a scowl, Mike wasn't in the mood to deal with his mopping and braying. Ignoring him, Mike just causally left

"Are you going to share with the class what you are doing? Or do we have to play twenty questions?"

"What makes you say that?" Fushi asked, giving a curious tilt of his head at the elderly man from a few rooms down. Whatever this place was, there likely had to be a way out. Whether the Church of Bennett brought them here (which he was growing to doubt) or not, someone had to being them in, so they could eventually find a way out, right?

"Well… it’s nice to meet you, Fushi," Cove said. There was this timidness in Cove’s voice that was unbefitting of his tall stature.

"Ah-" Cove stuttered at Mike, about to respond, yet before he could, the old man walk down one of the halls.

"Rude," Cove huffed, before turning to Fushi, "He doesn’t seem like the type for teamwork,"

"26?! AAaaah! Shit! Poop! Balls!" Jester lamented as she covered her face with her hands. "How's he supposed to know I meant love you?! I love a lot of things...but Fjord's a smart guy he should figure it out. Speaking of! Hold please!" She stopped in her tracks waiting for a message that wasn't coming. "Oh Fjord?" She finally replied to Rixia. "He's my boyfriend. He's very smart and very handsome! He also has his own ship so I am waiting on him to get back to me so I can tell him where I am so he can come here!" She chuckled to himself. "Like you've never seen a Sending spell before."

Then came a reply from someone that looked really old, and tired. "Gosh, you look really old and tired. Like I said I'm trying to contact my handsome boyfriend Fjord and he's going to get back to me at any moment now...

Yes...aaaaany moment now."

"Take a step back and think about it. There is, what? A dozen of us, give or take? Do you know of complex it is to set something like this up? This wasn't some rinky-dink grab-and-go kidnapping job. This took time, and effort. Now, look where we're at. The rooms are friendly, and comfortable. There are no bars, and we can stroll about to our hearts' content. What does that say to you? 'Cuz what it says to me is that this was planned perfectly, no corners were cut. Whoever did this? The financial and logistical hoops they had to jump threw are unimaginable. Do you really think we can figure a way out anytime soon? "

Mike shook his head.

"We're going to need time. Running head first into danger like a bunch of Don Quixotes? I'm sorry, but I don't have any plans to run into any windmills anytime soon."

Turnning back to Coven, Mike turned back to him

Oh, don't worry, I'm a team player. I just don't have any plans to draft you to my team."

"Yes I am." Mike agreed bluntly. "And you're very blue and have horns. Look, I don't where you're from, or what you are, but talking to air isn't going to get us anywhere."

Miko poked her head out the door, observing the new surroundings plus the people that now appeared. She initially sighed relief at their presence, but a glance at some of them presented a new problem. Were they the spirits? Granted, the ones she'd seen back home didn't look a thing like these individuals, but it wasn't as if these few were any more normal—save for ones who actually looked human. Latching onto a string of confidence, Miko left her room.

One human, an older man, was in a back and forth between a blue horned... creature? Alongside a few others. Truthfully, Miko didn't feel these were spirits. They lacked the same "vibe," for lack of better word. Not that she was going to take a chance with the initiative.

Miko let her eyes wander, never settling on any one person for second longer than she needed to—as if everyone else was invisible. Deep, quiet breath. Blank expression. "Kyousuke? Mom?" she called out.

She could only stay at a distance. This was a bunch of strangers - nothing familiar, not even familiar in its strangeness. She listened to the chatter, saying nothing. Louise really, really hoped they'd be alright. None of these dreams lasted very long without some grand calamity.
