Sherwood Sherwood Do you want Snowfall to know the Brodkil's home dimension? Has he perhaps traveled to or through there in his time?

Heya Team! Here in OOC terms is what Snowfall is talking about in his most-recent in-game post.

He's talking about casting one of his most-powerful tattoos. I'll write this out to save everyone the trouble of looking it up. It's from Rifts Dimension Book 15: Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 178.

P.P.E. to activate: 400 plus 1D4+8 P.E. points.
Duration: Two rounds (30 seconds) per level of the tattoo user. Snowfall has the Energized version of this tattoo which doubles the time for 5 P.P.E..

Power: Like the Dimensional Portal (Rift) spell, this magic tattoo opens a two-way door to another dimension. The tattoo user can open a Rift to a specific world he is familiar with or a random one. Once the Rift closes, the only way back is to open another Rift. One of the real dangers of using this magic is that some "thing" unwanted often slips through along with the person who opens the Rift.
This tattoo is typically used at a ley line nexus or stone pyramid where the T-Man can draw on the extra P.P.E. available there. The high P.P.E. cost drains the Tattooed Man of P.P.E. as well as physically depriving him of 1D4+8 P.E. points. Adjust P.E.. bonuses and fatigue appropriately. The spent P.E. points return at the rate of one point per each hour of rest. If the character is fighting or on the move, the points do not return until he can stop and rest.

Dannigan note: Sometime back, Sherwood approved the use of drawing P.P.E. from willing volunteers (such as the party). Snowfall has 225 P.P.E. out of 405. This means, if the party is willing, he'll need 180 P.P.E. from the party to cast this extremely-powerful tattoo magic. Then Snowfall will be more or less wrecked for 8-12 hours afterward until he is able to rest for that period of time.

Now, here's the part where I bring up that clause about some "thing" unwanted often slipping through along with the person who opens the Rift. Snowfall is hesitant to send this Brodkil back to its own dimension (if the party goes through with this at all) because of what might come through when he tries. However... Snowfall is 700+ years old of spirit messenger (he was born during Japan's Feudal Age and began his service to Inari during that age). In my head, Snowfall has been to and through a lot of cities, planes, realms, dimensions, and what-have-you. I think chances are good he can send this Brodkil to some spot where it can reform itself (Reformed Demon is a thing in Mystic China; it's also an R.C.C.) or go to a Hell that will contain him ("The Chinese have a lot of Hells." - approximate quote from Big Trouble in Little China). GM-willing, of course.

Otherwise, we have to kill this demon, which is something the more-Principled among our characters are having serious trouble with.

Your thoughts?

Daisy would help, though she only has IPP. Though she would strongly suggest it being far more effective and expedient to end him rightly. Admittedly she is a hired gun, so most of her solutions involve firing a gun.

I couldn't agree more, D.. Oh, Snowfall is not thinking of the deadly Daisy nor of wrathful Zephiron, but of course of Miss Terra and perhaps of new Eron who has recently shown knight-like qualities by way of his mentioning Sir Cooley during the battle. To Snowfall, the foul Brodkil demon will have won in ways immeasurable to it if it dies having also taken a small piece of Terra's heart and perhaps dignity with it. This is true even if the Brodkil is unaware of it; Terra gave the order - that alone is painful for a soul like hers.

This is what Snowfall is attempting to avoid. He is a wise character who understands Atlanteans far better than his fellow Kitsune and the less injury she receives, the better. Where Snowfall comes from, killing demons is in all honesty, a dire necessity for survival. One doesn't think twice. But then again, the people of Atlantis and of Japan are different in a great number of ways, aren't they? =)

I've been very inactive the last few days, I'll hopefully be able to catch up with things today or tomorrow - preferably later today, I'll see. Spoiler: I like the option. Unless it involves the flute.

It doesn't. Flute won't work. But your Crazy doesn't like music so that's a win! =)

It is - though I'm also looking forward to the situation where using the flute is the right thing to do. Now that I think about it - maybe it's good that the flute shows up now. That way, the team has at least some kind of warning.

I'm sure it will be soon. Judging from how often Daisy tried to warn about the boom gun being harmfully deafening, they will likely use the flute to sing a chime to mark every hour.

I am willing to donate my PPE to getting the demon out of here. Between Terra and Snowfall, we have enough to open the portal, but it will also tap me out for a long time until such time as we can both recover.

Everyone here needs a fucking ley line.

Well I need a ley line and all my new (not yet) friends's money.

If you don't have Demon and Monster Lore, you can try a straight IQ roll instead.

When I read this, I immediately thought...

Doctor Curie's Demon and Monster Lore Skill appears inside of his mind and in a professional, calm manner states, "My good man, do pay attention. You see, the monster before you is none other than a--"

Then his Intelligence Quotient (meaning, the brain he was born with) interrupts shrieking, "TO HELL WITH ALL THAT! DOES THAT FREAKIN' THING LOOK LIKE IT'S HERE TO SELL YOU GIRL SCOUT COOKIES?! GET'CHO ASS OUTTA HERE BEFORE IT EATS YOU! NOW RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIIIFE!! AAAAAH!!"
