Don't worry! You'll get your chance to ride in a Silverback soon enough!Aww but the silverback was supposed to be my baby
Psychie Does the Beta have any variants or upgrades like the Alpha does? Or is the Beta pretty much a single model.
Aww, that's a shame. Beta doesnt seem to have gotten much love.Don't worry! You'll get your chance to ride in a Silverback soon enough!
AFAIK, there are no other models of the Beta. There was supposed to be a Super Alpha and Super Beta that was developed, but Palladium lost the licence to the game before those write-ups ever came out.
I didnt know there was a recon beta. I'll go check it out.Nope. There is just the advanced avionics in the recon model, like the recon Alpha.
I am allowing the increase in a stat every three levels, so you can increase your Iq with that as you go along. Other than that, I do not know of any other skills or ways to boost that number.Hmm. And I need to get my IQ up higher. I cant rightly be the science officer if my IQ isnt up to snuff.
Is there any skills aside from Jeet Kun Do that can be used to up IQ?
I didnt know there was a recon beta. I'll go check it out.
That's unfortunate. Looks like I'm stuck with my rolls then.I am allowing the increase in a stat every three levels, so you can increase your Iq with that as you go along. Other than that, I do not know of any other skills or ways to boost that number.
The Recon Beta uses the same sensors as the Recon Alpha, but other than that, it is unchanged until the Shadow Stealth system comes out.
Yeah, that's what I was worried about. It is fairly common for physical skills to be able to boost your Ps, Pp and Pe, but I don't know of any skills that will increase your Iq.
I see it the same way. That's unfortunate. Looks like I'm stuck with my rolls then.
Yeah, that's what I was worried about.
Awesome.Ok, I'll make the change to the Character thread so you can level your numbers up a bit easier.
Just so I'm on the same page as you, which OCC are you taking? The more I look at trying to fill the gaps in skills, the more it looks like I should take the Veritech Pilot O.C.C. and Recon Alpha M.O.S, so I think I'll do that and save myself the headache of making sure I have the appropriate navigation and survival skills to reflect the character's role.
For what it's worth, this line of thought originated with, "It'd be weird that he could pilot the Alpha but not jets/fighters and non-variable equivalents like most pilot types can. I should probably make sure I get things to make sense."
At the very least, on the O.C.C level, Veritech pilot has 90% overlap with 3-4 additional skills, where as Military Specialist's one skill that isn't overlapped (MECT of choice) is easily covered by M.O.S.
So... long story short here's what I'm thinking. I can let Mike drop the Command Officer M.O.S to keep Marine as the Jack of All Trades pick. O.C.C. will be Veritech Pilot / Recon Alpha M.O.S. so Mike can focus on tactics, survival, etc. and D. Rex can focus on Charlise being our intellectual heavyweight for Lore and Technical skills. Mike can then train the squad in operating Silverbacks once we acquire the hardware.
Unless I'm missing something, that sounds like a win to me.
