I... should ask... where ya'll gettin the books?

Basically, yes. They do the same damage, but with a bombing run, they are not as accurate with a mobile target as a missile, but they do the same damage.

Does AoE factor in to accuracy?

Like, if I'm dropping a tactical nuke, how easy is that to get out the way of?

Yes, Area of Effect does help out. If you are using a bomb or missile with a big enough blast, you can probably still do half damage with a missed attack.

It also depends on how much you miss your roll by. If it is a lot, you might just miss and do no damage.

Definitely gonna grab some big bombs then, depending on what types are at the pilots disposal.

Shorts and mediums are going to be easy to get, but the large bombs are going to be reserved for special occasions.

Beaut

The big ones you'll want to look at is the Shadow Chronicles core book, and the UEEF Marines book. Only human and Zentraedi are allowed.
Right.

Hmmm... what to do... zentraedi could be fun...

I think I got my skills listing wrapped up after a couple passes. All that should be left is adding up bonuses, including SDC/Hit Point/Speed rolls, then figuring out gear eventually.

I made notes in the Wishlist/Thoughts for what skills were part of the Command Officer set that he doesn't have. I think pretty much all of it is high brow stuff that typically hasn't come up in what I've played thus far. Even those that would seem more suited to letting our scientist shine, like Alien lore and history skills.

There's also notes for stuff everyone might want to look at or plan for as well as skills for eventually running our own ship if that's what we have the ambition for.

Any comments or suggestions anyone?

I'd gone to sleep shortly after my last post here and woke up late... so nothing new beyond what I had just described above.

I'm going through the skills list to fill in details and add up bonuses. About 80% done I'd say.

There's only one issue I thought of once the fatigue induced stupidity took it's 15 minute break. We had talked about getting command of our own ship further down the line. If Mike stays as is, not only is he a Marine, but about half the unit is. I don't believe Marines are ever given such a command, but a transfer from one branch to another could be doable based on current day's precedent. Even still his rank would have to be like O-4 to O-6 with a stellar service record to boot. The alternative is his background being former Marine and a recent transfer to the Navy branch of the UEEF.

Now that I think of it though, I like the idea of him getting pulled into the Navy prior to game start to lead the new unit and being somewhat jarred by the change.

I'm sure our unit won't fail to deliver results regardless if that's the path we want to take. It at least seems interesting enough to me anyways.

Edit: I'll try and keep this simple though rather than derailing the course of Psychie's story. I'll stick with Marine Corps.

If we don't hear from MrSaturnUL soon, I'll go ahead and make up an NPC to round out the team's numbers to make an even six.

What occ should I think about?
It looks like we have only one person going with the Military Specialist role, so you could do well with that OCC. Maybe go with the EOD/SEAL MOS, and give us a strong explosives person to look to for making things go boom. Or, the Special Forces/Espionage MOS, since that gives you HtH Commando, MECT Cyclone, and some demo skills. You could then upgrade your Commando skill to one of the fancy Martial Arts styles for the extra stat bonuses.

hmmm... boom huh?

You require the boom?

I don't think that anyone here has the Demolitions skill, so that would be a good thing.
EXPLOSIONS!!!

it shall be.

Do we have a more melee oriented cyclone speacialist?

We have a few people with the MECT Cyclone, but at this point, the only Cyclones available are the 010 and 020 series ones from the UEEF Marines book. The others are in development.
