I am currently thinking of a mage from the Order of Hermes that makes a living running a small used bookstore that secretly caters to the "special" clientele of the city. What kind of mage are you thinking of? Any thoughts of how we started working together as a small cabal?

sorry if you did see this before but didn’t have time to reply - just a few questions from me.I think the roster is two vampires, two mages, a garou and a shapeshifter (which is essentially very similar to a garou). We’re good at making pairs of things apparently!

If your mages need numbers for any plans they create with their information, I was planning on having my Shapeshifter be the leader of a small group (still working on whether the members would be the same shapeshifter type as him or not though).
I like characters who represent the brawn rather than the brains.

There is no cognitive or spiritual change when shapeshifting. But they are somewhat proportional in that a Gurahl will be larger than a Kitsune or a Mokolé larger than an Ajaba when shifted into a non-Human form. All shapeshifters can readily switch between their normal Human form to a Homid mixed appearance to the full animal (which mimics size) and to a war form (like Garou turning into the stereotypical werewolf biped rather than into a wolf).
Typically if an observer is perceptive enough there’ll be a tell of some sort to be aware the animal before them isn’t truly that animal. After all shifters mimic the physique not the behavior. So even beings that don’t have powers like Vampiric Auspex could in theory figure it out if they’re aware of shifters.

So despite my original interest in the Changelings, my mind has eloped with a Shapeshifter concept, possibly Ajaba or Gurahl, so I have a few questions about them
Are there any restrictions or consequences (body, mind, spirit, psyche) to shifting form? The Garou info mentions a form can be swapped ‘at will’ between human and wolf spirit, so I assume no particular conditions have to be met for a form shift, but any restrictions other than that, or consequences for shifting form?
Second query, would the were-form be identical to an animal of that type morphology wise in terms of size and direct appearance, or are things more flexible in shapeshifters? Any particular oddities that would mark out a creature as being a were-animal rather than a regular animal?

i'm not super familiar with the franchise but I'd like to play a vampire.

Thought I'd do a very basic sketch of how I picture my Shapechanger to look (still debating hyena or bear for his alternate form). I'm aware he's currently looking quite primitive in basic appearance when we're in a modern setting, but I certainly want to capture a bit of a wilder look. If you think anything should be changed or if he should appear more modern than he does, GM, I can work on that. It's a very basic sketch atm.
I'd also appreciate a few pointers in terms of CS from those who do know - if we're using a character sheet from the system the RP is based on, this is a game I haven't heard of before so I'm unsure where to look! I'd be using the werewolf template but changing it to Shapechanger, I know. Any links or pointers are appreciated.

Could be weakened. Cappadocians are still technically around in the vague/up to campaign settings way. Just don’t let Clan Giovanni know who you are…or where you sleep.

Awesome. I still have a lot to flesh out for my character, like gender and appearance along with other fluff, but that is all coming along.
