Characters are considered 'immature' until 16, in which they can begin wearing their nation's colors. However, it is very unlikely the kingdoms' heirs would consider anyone so young so it is recommended that they are 18+ or older.

Alright, so how it works is this:
Children working in the palace are aged 7-14 and are Pages.
Children continuing in this line of work 14-20 are Squires.
They can possibly be Knighted at 21 years.
Knights are the only ones who can afford a full suit of armor. Simple soldiers are forced to make do with just chest plates, helmets, and sturdy shoes-- essentially, what they can afford.
