ok I think I am caught up on the discussion now
I am building my guy as a Boatswain (a low ranking officer charged with keeping the crew in line)
He can also be a gunner if need be.
Backstory wise he is an old soldier who is looking for someone or something... not sure what yet
Edit: not old like retirement age, just very experienced. He is probably in his late 30s to early 40s.
