overview.
Once upon a time, the Olympians were powerful beings that were worshipped by many. However, as time went on and people started to drift away from worshipping them, their power began to fade. As the lesser gods and goddesses started to fade out of existence, the twelve main Olympians channeled their remaining power into little charms that were modeled after their symbols and powers. Each charm was then released into the world for a child -- their heroes -- to find and give them the traits and powers that these gods had. After these charms were made and released, the Olympians went into hibernation to try and preserved their remaining energy.
Each charm was a carved from metal and is only about the size of a quarter. Made by Hephaestus, they are modeled after each individual symbol. When worn, the Hero is given a power represented by their respective god. These charms are able to be worn however the Hero chooses -- whether it's by necklace, bracelet, or simply just resting in their pocket, it grants them their powers. However, when the powers are used, the charms enter a cooldown mode and cannot be used for a few hours.
Now, ten years later, the Heroes charms have awaken and they're finding themselves being called to restore power to their respective gods. Contacted through their charms, the Heroes were called to leave their every day lives and gather at the Parthenon in Tennessee. This is the last place where the gods' magic is strong enough that they are able to communicate with their Heroes and give them the necessary task in order to save the Greek gods, but if they will succeed...
Well, only time will tell.

Zeus
taken
The Hero of Zeus is somebody that's most likely in a leadership role. They're confident and don't fear public speaking. While they can be cold and distant, it's all in the name of leadership. The Charm of Zeus is shaped like a lightning bolt emerging from a cloud. The charm allows the wearer to control electricity.
Poseidon
taken
The Hero of Poseidon is a wild child. They take after the ocean. Unable to be restrained, they are definitely a wild card. The Charm of Poseidon is shaped like a trident and painted sea green. It allows the wearer to control water.
Hermes
taken
The Hero of Hermes is either some kind of traveller or thief. Their way of life may be a bit different than what most consider normal, but they aren't ashamed of that. They're both charming and a smooth talker. The Charm of Hermes is shaped like a small cacadeus. It allows the wearer to run at speeds unimaginable by man.
Apollo
taken
The Hero of Apollo is a gentle soul. Well versed in both music and medicine, they find themselves working to heal others both physically and mentally. The Charm of Apollo is shaped like a sun and painted gold. It allows the wearer to heal minor wounds. They are the twin of the Hero of Artemis.
Artemis
taken
The Hero of Artemis, like the Hero of Apollo, is a gentle soul. They find themselves at peace with nature. They are tough and find it easy to navigate and survive out in the wild. The Charm of Artemis is shaped like a moon. It is painted gold. It allows the wearer to shapeshift into any animal. They are the twin of the Hero of Apollo.
Ares
taken
The Hero of Ares is the strong, silent type. They may not find themselves in the most moral company, but they're all about protecting and defending what they believe is right. The Charm of Ares is shaped like a spear. It gives the wearer super human strength and faster reflexes while in battle.
Hephaestus
taken
The Hero of Hephaestus can only be described as useful. They know their way around nearly every machine and gadget and can whip up nearly anything with the spare parts they have sitting around. The Charm of Hephaestus is shaped like a hammer. It's painted black and gives the wearer heat resistance and ability to manipulate flames.
Hera
open
The Hero of Hera is a very parental character. While they feel the need to protect and advise those younger than them, they are also very vengeful. The Charm of Hera is shaped like a pomegranate. It allows the wearer to manipulate minds. It isn't total mind control, but enough to plant the seed of an idea in someone's brain.
Athena
open
The Hero of Athena is intelligent and has a thirst for knowledge that cannot be easily quenched. They have knowledge in many different subjects and have the patience to slow down and analyze a situation. The Charm of Athena is shaped like an owl. The charm allows the wearer to pull useful knowledge out of thin air. His applies to knowledge that the wearer hadn't previously known and they will forget it after a few minutes.
Demeter

The Hero of Demeter most likely grew up on a farm. They, like the Hero of Artemis, are very in tune with nature. They are experts at finding food in the wild and have an extensive knowledge of crops. The Charm of Demeter is shaped like a cornucopia. It allows the wearer to cause crops such as corn and wheat to grow quickly.
Aphrodite
open
The Hero of Aphrodite is very good looking. They find it easy, almost second nature, to turn on the charm and flirt. They're very manipulative. The Charm of Aphrodite is shaped like a dove and painted white. Similar to the Charm of Hera, it allows the wearer to influence one's mind. The difference is, however, that the victim of this power will like the wearer.
Dionysus
taken
The Hero of Dionysus is the life of the party. While they sometimes need help focusing and being serious, they also take on the role of keeping morale high. The Charm of Dionysus is shaped as a grapevine. It allows the wearer to convince people to let go of their inhibitions. This can be extremely useful to gain information.
Hades
taken
The Hero of Hades is the loner type. They tend to be introverted and often look at the downside of everything, and are typically brash and difficult to get along with. The Charm of Hades is a gold serpent. It gives the wearer the ability to communicate with the dead.
rules

Literacy
This is an advanced role play. That means I expect a minimum of a few paragraphs per post. I also expect correct grammar. I don't mind typos or imperfect grammar, but they shouldn't be happened every other word.
Activity
Activity isn't the biggest rule, but it's still pretty important. I'm busy and know you can't be on 24/7, so I'm just gonna set the rule at a few times a week. If you don't come back, I will message you before deleting you.
characters
Characters cannot be perfect. That's the main rule when it comes to characters. Perfect is boring. We want realistic, flawed human like characters here. They were chosen by the gods and possess powers, but they still have weaknesses. Also, I'll allow people to claim two characters (maybe more if slots aren't filling). Ages can range anywhere from 18-low 20s. This can totally be changed depending on what people want but I want them to be similar ages.
respect
I want this to be fun for everyone involved. I need you to be respectful to one another, as well as me. No bullying will be tolerated at all. You must also respect and follow the forum rules. I don't want this deleted or anyone banned. So, try to keep stuff at a PG or PG-13 level.
have fun
I want this to be fun for everyone involved. It should be enjoyable and relaxed. I have no problem with chatting, but I do want to make sure we keep getting role play posts in too. Also, no godmodding, spotlighting, power playing or any of that stuff. Also, don't have overly dramatic backstories just to give your character more attention. I don't have anything against dramatic backstories if it propels the plot or character. For example, the Hero of Hermes may have grown up on the streets and learned to scam people. Please just don't do it so your character can be 'special'. But it really is important to me that everyone enjoys themselves. There will also be a Discord server for everyone to communicate in.
