    Mischievous, goofy, and always down for a good time - Mikey, summed up in a sentence. He can be kind of eccentric and off-putting for those who don't really know him, but the people who do know that he's not a bad guy or anything. He couldn't even hurt anyone if he tried, though he might accidentally do it if he doesn't realize. If he does happen to slight someone, then he'll fall over himself trying to apologize and make things right.
    
    He's incredibly easygoing, choosing to take life as it comes to him. Life's too short as it is - why worry? All good things come to those who wait. As for dating, he doesn't really do much of that. His parents have high expectations for all three of their athletically gifted children, and so he doesn't want to get distracted by the ups and downs of a relationship. There'll be plenty of time for that once he gets the gold - he's only working to make the Olympics once, and once that's over, he's hanging his board up, much to the chagrin of his parents.     When Samuel and Laura Harding found out that their oldest child, Marley, had a gift for skiing, they knew that they were Olympic-bound. It was on a vacation to the Rocky Mountains that they realized that they saw promise in her. So they packed up the house, quit their jobs, and took seven year old Marley, four year old Mikey, and nearly one year old Molly and took off for Hawkley, Idaho.
    
    They technically didn't force Mikey to take on snowboarding, but when he saw that Marley was into winter sports, he decided to follow in her footsteps. He decided that skiing wasn't for him at the age of seven, instead opting for the "cooler" sport of snowboarding. One of the Harding kids are going to make the Olympics one day - but which one will it be? Marley with her skiing, Mikey with his snowboarding, or Molly with her figure skating? She's constantly exercising, and her body reflects that. She can often be seen with a horrible farmer's tan, as she doesn't care about her looks that much, and her hair's almost constantly up in a messy ponytail.

    If a sunny day were to be personified, it would take form as Summer. Bubbly and cheerful, she exudes warmth and happiness. She makes friends with everyone she comes across, spreading her joy from person to person. Summer is an absolute sweetheart, but her fatal flaw is her naivety. She trusts everyone, and forgives way too easily, because she wants to see everyone get along and be merry. She often comes across as child-like and dumb, but that is not the case. Summer maintains the best possible grades and a perfect attendance, working hard to ensure that she'll be valedictorian her senior year. She's a very bright girl with a promising future, but her critics often overlook that and dismiss her as some dumb blonde. This doesn't bother her any, though, because she doesn't want to be in the middle of any conflict, but that's just how Summer is. She makes sure that everyone around her is smiling, because, just like her name, she's warm and radiant, or at least that's what she wants everyone to believe. Summer, with her booksmarts, can be extremely manipulative in order to get what she wants, but that side of her rarely comes out unless someone wrongs her in some way. Just don't do anything to hurt her, and she'll be on her best behavior.
    
    What is there that Summer doesn't give her all to? On top of managing her grades, she has dedicated herself to four extracurriculars. Beta, of course, is the first, the longest club she has been a part of. She jumps at the chance to get her volunteer hours, and she never misses the opportunity to help the club succeed. The second, (and maybe her favorite,) is the girls cross country team. She runs whenever she has the chance, making sure to get the best possible time for competitions. The next extracurricular Summer excels in is the drama club. She doesn't like to be on stage very much, but behind the scenes, Summer is hard at work making sure the spring musical goes on smoothly. The last extracurricular, of course, is the girl's hockey team. Her true calling is on the ice.

    Ellie Drake didn't know what to do when her only daughter, Danielle, fell pregnant at sixteen. At forty-four, the divorced mother of two was working two jobs to feed Danielle and her younger brother Justin. Ellie knew that she couldn't get rid of her grandchild, even if the circumstances happened to be unexpected. Ellie sent Danielle to live across the country with her father, who wasn't thrilled about becoming a grandfather, but reluctantly accepted it anyway.
    
    Fast forward to April. Danielle had met and fallen in love with Ryan Crosby, a boy at school, who had fallen right back for her. He didn't care that she was nine months pregnant. He didn't care that they were in high school. As long as they knew they loved each other, that would be enough. They quietly eloped a few days before Danielle was rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section, where Summer Louise Crosby was born a little less than an hour later.
    
    Danielle and Ryan balanced school, work, and parenting as they were promoted to their senior year, then graduation, followed by college. They might have struggled, but they made it work. Summer grew up in a world full of love and laughter, which reflected back on her as she got older. She rarely saw any conflict until one autumn evening, when Cameron White showed up. Cameron was Danielle's ex-boyfriend and Summer's biological father. He demanded custody of his daughter, who was now six years old at this point, but Danielle refused. That seemed to be the end of it...or so they thought.
    
    Summer got off of the school bus a couple of weeks later when she saw Cameron, who was eagerly anticipating his daughter's arrival. She didn't know what to do, but the child walked over to her father, who let her into his car, promising her everything she could have ever wanted and more. Little did Summer know was that Cameron was taking her across the country to live with him in his drug-filled, rat-infested shack of a house. Danielle and Ryan were alarmed when their daughter didn't come home from school, speeding down to the school to find her. When that didn't pan out, they marched down to the police station, fearing the worst.
    
    Meanwhile, Summer and Cameron didn't get very far, barely crossing state lines when they got pulled over by a police officer for reckless driving. Cameron broke down and told the officer everything. He was arrested for reckless driving and possession of narcotics, and Summer was brought home, where she belonged.
    
    The next couple of years flew by without any major changes. Summer was eight now, and all she wanted was a baby brother or sister. Coincidentally, Danielle revealed that she was pregnant that spring. Alexander James was born that December, making the family of three a family of four. All was right in the world again.
    
    All was not right in the world again six months later. Ryan's job moved them away from their sleepy little hometown into a strange new place: Hawkley. Summer had to start at a new school, where she didn't know anyone, but her anxiety diminished as she found herself fitting right in. This welcoming atmosphere didn't last when she got to middle school a couple of years later; Summer found herself being bullied by the older students. This didn't stop her from being chipper, however; her bright personality shone through, and the bullies backed down a little while later. Summer blossomed into a young woman, being promoted to freshman year at her new school, and now, two years later, she still remains at the school.

    Lack of common sense? Check. Voice of an angel? Check. Crossing boundaries accidentally? Check. Ty is what some might consider a himbo - that is, there's nothing going on inside of that big head of his. Being exposed to the media at a young age must have had some effect on him, as he still acts as if he's a middle schooler. Either way, Ty's always fun to be around, regardless of if he's well-liked or not.
    
    His music is the most important thing in his life - it's the most constant thing, too, what with the constant moving around as a child. He's determined to make it in the industry without the help of his famous parents; he doesn't want to take the easy way out.     Ty Lincoln exudes wealth. After all, he was born into the Lincoln family (not to be confused with Abraham Lincoln's lineage), one of the wealthiest, most influential lineage in the United States. However, he was the odd one out, since his father, Adrian, had been involved in an affair with Miranda Harris, an actress who was quickly rising to the top; her first two movies, Haunt, a slasher film, and Fools Fall In Love, a rom-com, had been blockbusters on their opening weekends. The affair resulted in Ty's birth the following spring. When Adrian's wife, Eileen, found out about the birth of a child that wasn't hers, she went ballistic. She filed for divorce, blackmailed Adrian, and showcased her drinking problem, all in the public eye.
    
    This didn't bother Adrian none. He married Miranda and told his side of the story to whoever would listen. Miranda continued on her path to stardom, and Ty grew up the son of a celebrity. Everything the public saw, which made Adrian and Miranda's marriage quickly crumble. He filed for divorce a little less than four years later, and Ty was tossed from parent to parent soon after. Miranda made sure that Ty was in the spotlight, featuring him in whatever she could, from bit parts in movies, to commercials in which she was featured in. This, coupled with their announcement that they were getting their own reality show, made Adrian and Miranda one of the hottest celebrity couples.
    
    The Lincoln's premiered right around the time Ty started middle school, and was a hit sensation. Documenting the lives of one of the most well-known families in Hollywood, The Lincoln's soared in popularity during its first season, but struggled to draw in new viewers during the second season. Facing cancellation, Adrian and Miranda decided that instead of pulling the plug on their one-hit wonder, they'd drop a bombshell at the end of the second season, leaving viewers puzzled as to what the announcement would be. In a season finale that drew in 3.2 million viewers, a record for the show, a tearful Miranda reveals that she's pregnant with her second child. The third season of The Lincoln's would be the last one. It detailed Miranda's pregnancy and birth (she gave birth in the eleventh episode), and the series finale, which got a decent 2.4 million viewers' attentions, faded into obscurity after the popularity of another reality show looking into the lives of a famous family took the world by storm.
    
    Adrian, Miranda, Ty, and little baby Rosie kept a public image up after the show's ending: Adrian's business was booming, Miranda began starring in Just In Case, a comedy program, and Ty and Rosie were just two celebrity children. Ty, in particular, wanted nothing to do with the spotlight, while Rosie was too young to care.     Julia Cunningham is your typical angsty teenager who believes everything and everyone is against her. She constantly finds herself surrounded by drama - which is good, since she feeds off of it. She likes to twist the narrative and put two people against each other just because it's amusing to her. And until it's flipped around on her, she's not going to stop thriving off of everyone else's messy lives. She's an argumentative, bitchy young woman who will do anything to be in control.

    The Cunninghams have been in Hawkley for as long as the town has been around. It all started when Ernest Cunningham migrated from Philadelphia to the western frontier, settling in what would become Hawkley. Ernest married a mail-order bride, Edith Woodard, and their six children, Hattie, Lillian, Peter, Benjamin, Alfred, and Roy all stayed in the area and raised their own families. The next Cunningham to directly precede our central character, Julia, would be Peter, the second-generation Cunningham.
    
    Peter married a local schoolteacher, Helen Phelps. Their three children - Ethel, Jacob, and Eva - made up the third generation of Cunninghams residing in Hawkley. When Jacob came of age, he married Catherine Frazier, who was a newcomer to the town. And their only son, Lewis, would become Julia's father after marrying Frances Conley.
    
    This brings us to the recent past, when Julia Edith Cunningham was born in Hawkley on an unseasonably warm August afternoon, the only child of Lewis and Frances. From the very moment she was born, Julia was spoiled by both her parents and grandparents, getting everything she could ever possibly want and more from all four of them. This led to her ego becoming incredibly inflated, which continues on to this very day. She wants the popularity, the notoriety, and, most importantly, the power of being someone.

    Lani was born and raised in Hawkley. Her parents were extremely wealthy. With her father both coming from money and being a well-paid surgeon and her mother owning a chain of successful restaurants, they had access to pretty much anything money could buy. They all lived in a mansion in a nice part of town. Lani's parents were both kind and affectionate people, although they were hard workers they always set aside time for their daughter so she never felt alone. As a kid, she was spoiled, her parents providing anything she needed or wanted in the blink of an eye, but she was never a spoiled brat about it. She was understanding when something wasn't possible and generous towards others, many of her requests being of benefit to friends or family.
    
    As she grew up, she had lost of friends, but not all of them had good intentions. Everyone wanted the nice rich girl as a friend, but many didn't care as much about friendship as they did her money. She made a few genuine friends, but others came and went as they got what they needed from her. She was gullible, so she tended to give people the benefit of the doubt, but she wasn't stupid- eventually she realized lots of people just wanted her resources and not her friendship. Still, she knew she was privileged and just wanted to help others, even if they didn't care much about her.
    
    In school, she didn't do too poorly, but she didn't do great. Her focus was just never on academics. Her focus was never on anything really, but academics clearly weren't her strong suit. Since she didn't love school and her parents didn't really care how well she did, they just wanted her to be happy, she didn't have the motivation to get good grades. Instead, she tried a variety of hobbies, trying to find her passion. Like most people in town, she tried all the winter sports. She liked them, but whenever they got too competitive she backed out, not finding them fun. The one thing she really liked about everything she tried was the fact that she got to meet new people while exploring new things. Though, in high school when she took a few photography classes, she found it stuck.
    
    So, she went to the local community college and studied photography. Her parents bought her an apartment to encourage some independence, but they still supported her financially. This was mostly to inspire her to go out and explore her passions. Just last year she graduated and got a job as a photographer at the local paper. She is mainly a sports photographer, going to different events and taking action shots.     Contrary to popular belief, Collin is not uptight or unfriendly. He just works extremely hard to reach his goals, so he doesn't have much time on his hands. He comes across as all work and no play, which he is- but not necessarily by choice. Ambitious and deeply focused, he wants to rise above and better his life and his family's lives. He is willing to take risks in order to achieve his goals, and often disregards his personal safety. He is far too hard on himself and spots all of his flaws, even if no one else does. This, combined with his workaholic tendencies, causes his more serious outward persona. He'll be quiet around people he doesn't know, and his pretty constantly stressed expression is often mistaken for negativity towards others, which deters people. But, if you take a moment to get to know him he's kind and loyal, never judging anyone. If spending time around someone he likes and trusts he can also be more laid back, showing he's capable of relaxing and having fun.     The eldest of four siblings, Collin was born to a struggling family in Montana. His family was always pretty tight on money, mainly due to how many people they had to provide for. His mother worked as a secretary at a dentist's office and his father worked as a ski instructor at a local resort in the winter season and was a waiter year round. The bear necessities were all Collin got, and he never asked for more. He greatly appreciated how hard his parents worked just to be able to feed their family, even if he craved a better life for himself and his siblings, he showed nothing but appreciation.
    
    Every winter, Collin's father took him out to the slopes as soon as he was old enough and taught him how to ski. Collin loved it and it became something for him to bond over. As he grew up he knew he wanted to help better his family's position and tried to work out a plan that would allow for him to rise above. He thought that he could study hard, get good grades, go to college, then get a job that paid well. But, school just didn't come naturally to him. A determined kid, he gave it his all and still ended up getting good marks. His gut told him that he wasn't destined for great academic achievement, so he began to wonder if there was another way he would be able to achieve greatness.
    
    One winter in his early teen years, a friend from school went with his family on an annual winter vacation to Sun Valley Resort. Collin was invited along and he accepted the offer, having never been on a proper vacation before. He had a great time and put his skiing skills to good use. His friend's father took note of the boy's natural abilities and offered to teach him a few tricks. The man used to be a competitive ski jumper and aged out of the career after not achieving a huge level of success. He'd wished his som had interest in the sport, but he didn't so he'd given up on teaching him the tricks of the trade. But Collin was more than happy to be taught, and when he looked into competitive ski jumping he got excited. His friend's family had money and the father was feeling charitable, so he paid Collin's way through the sport throughout high school, funding equipment, training, and competition costs.
    
    Now, Collins ultimate ambition is to compete as a ski jumper in the olympics, and he's working his ass off to get there. Having just graduated high school, he moved to Hawkely to receive the best training he could get. He is also attending community college at the behest of his parents, who just want him to get a degree he can fall back on. Mostly, he is living off of other people's generosity, including his wealthy friends family and some other folks looking to do a good deed who caught on to his talent and offered to sponsor him. He wants success, both for himself so he can provide for his family, so he focuses on nothing but school and skiing, neglecting a social life.     Gwen is confident in her own skin, leading to her being able to draw people in with her natural charisma. She knows she's good enough, and that's what matters to her. She doesn't put up with bullshit from other people, and won't hesitate to call someone out for disrespecting her or anyone else. This can cause people to be a bit afraid of her, as she doesn't pull her punches when she's upset. But, as long as you haven't done anything to tick her off, she'll be nice to you. She approaches strangers with a healthy skepticism, but enjoys helping others. She's really warm and friendly once she decides she likes you, which comes as a surprise to the many people that just know her for her reputation of telling others off. She's also quite a flirt, just because she likes getting people flustered. Although she's an honest person, she knows how to filter her thoughts around those that matter to her, holding back on any brutal honesty when it matters.     Born in Boise, Idaho, Gwen was set up for a fairly average life. A solidly middle class family, her father was an electrician and her mother was a teacher. Both of her parents had very troubled childhoods and came from families that left them nothing but pain, so they did not want that for their daughter. Gwen was always a notably tough kid, always getting right back up if she fell, rarely crying over anything, standing up for other kids on the playground. From a very young age there was a spark to her, something that said she wasn't to be messed with. As a young kid, she could get pretty abrasive and her parents recognized that this could become problematic if used in the wrong way, so they taught her the value of being kind to others, leading to her always using her fire for good.
    
    Gwen's mother did figure skating in her high school years and when Gwen was very young she showed her a video of her on the ice. Gwen thought it was so cool, so her mother got her enrolled in lessons at the age of six. Since he mother only really did figure skating for fun, she never pushed her daughter to be competitive. With a natural appreciation for the art form and the sport, Gwen showed an aptitude for skating. She ended up doing competitions, but really mostly for fun, the trophies were just an added bonus.
    
    She had a good thing going with her figure skating, however, at the age of 11, her entire world changed. Her parents were coming back from a date night one night when they got into a horrible car accident, neither survived. She was shocked, sad, and angry at the world for letting this happen. Not having anyone to be left in the care of she moved around the foster care system for a while. Her anger got her labeled as a problem child for a while, she snapped at people often, but eventually she turned around and eased her anger. That's not what her parent's would have wanted, they'd have wanted her to take her grief and funnel it into growth. So, that's just what she did. She spent as much time as she could on the ice, fortunately the couple foster parents she went through were supporting of this and took her to rinks often, allowing her to funnel her pent up energy to working on her craft.
    
    Eventually, Gwen was adopted by Megan Prince, a lawyer from Hawkley. Megan was a well off woman, having enjoyed much success in her career, but had never settled down to create a family. As a lesbian, she was always planning on adopting, but she just decided to do it on her own since she'd always wanted to look after someone. She initially went into the process planning on adopting a younger child, but upon meeting Gwen she fell in love, seeing a bit of herself in the young teen. They were both deeply caring people who focused on their goals and didn't take shit from anyone.
    
    Megan supported Gwen in her figure skating, getting her the best coaches and allowing her to compete. Going to the rink, she approached others with a positive energy, but found that many of the other skaters looked down on her. She wasn't quite as polished as them, so they often made fun of her for that, and whispered behind her back, making up stories about her past. Gwen was pissed, but like before, decided to funnel that energy into something positive. While she did occasionally tell those that messed with her to shut up, most of her anger went towards her skating. She wanted to be perfect, to to prove that she could do it. One of the girls that was lead the others to bulling Gwen always talked about going to the olympics, so Gwen made that her goal as well.
    
    With time and lots of effort, Gwen was making waves in the figure skating competition world. She took no prisoners, her style had little technical flaw, but what really made her stand out was her emotion and passion. Eventually, Megan, whom she considered as a mother, allowed for her to do online homeschooling so she'd have more time to work on her skating career, since that was clearly what she wanted. She participated in all sorts of competitions, working every day to be able to qualify for the olympics. She was neck and neck with her primary rival, but Gwen always remained one step ahead and achieved her goal, going on to qualify for international events. She traveled around for a while, competing, before being selected for the Olympics. She'd done it, since none of the people that said there was no way she'd be able to do it had made it that far, she'd come far enough for her personal goals, but getting a medal would be like a final slap in the face to them.
    
    Just being at the Olympics was a huge honor, and although she did her best to enjoy herself, she'd come to realize that all this competing she was doing had taken a lot of the joy for skating out of her. It was mainly the coaches that pissed her off, pushing her too far, causing her to neglect her own needs. Throughout the games, she began to push back at her coach specifically, who was absurdly hard on her, demeaning her at every chance she got. Towards the end, she just wanted to do the best she could and get out of there. She skated with such determination though, she ended up getting silver, which was a huge victory in her eyes.
    
    That wasn't the end of the Olympics for her though. No, the main event was the press tours that happened afterwards. Her and her coach were being interviewed for a news program and he had said something really condescending towards her. Partially because she wasn't thinking too hard about it, partially because he deserved it, she snapped and called him an asshole on live tv. That moment went viral soon after, and Gwen's socials started blowing up. While some reactions were negative, calling her rude or ungrateful, most of the public loved her standing up for herself. Just like that she was being offered brand deals and sponsorships.
    
    She decided to make her way back to Hawkley, since she considered it home, but ultimately decided to at least take a break from competing, not sure if she'd ever get back to it. She started skating just for herself, rediscovering her joy in the art form.     Ezra can be a bit of a jerk. He truly believes no one will like him as he is so instead he pushes people away. He's decided that it's better to be a bit of an asshole and know exactly why people can't stand him then to try his best only for people to dislike him anyway. So, his one goal seems to be to piss people off. He's very antagonistic, gets into arguments, even starting the occasional physical fight. He always has this weird pretentious energy, like he knows better than you, Since he's really smart, he might actually know better than you, but he keeps this energy even when he definitely doesn't. He's an impulsive adrenaline junkie, doing things just to feel a rush. Aside from just saying things to intentionally rub people the wrong way, he's pretty quiet, only really talking to those that talk to him- in order to try and drive them away of course. But, calling him out on his bullshit and matching his energy seems to gain his respect, and he'll shift his attitude towards you slightly. He'll still be pretty sarcastic and rude, but nothing too harsh.     Ezra was born and raised in Washington DC. His father was a prominent lobbyist, and later on became the U.S. Secretary of Labor. His mother used to be a reporter, but quit after Ezra was born. She claimed to be a stay at home mom, but really she just ignored her children and took a lot of vacations away from her family. The youngest of three children, right away Ezra was seen as the weak link of the family. His older siblings were already shaping up to be impressive, one an academic genius and the other an absurdly charismatic force. But as Ezra grew, he appeared overwhelmingly average. He was a disappointment, and his family made sure he knew that. The mocking of his siblings, the glares and cruel scolding from his father, the bluntness of his mother. In an attempt to push him to be better, they treated him terribly, telling him he needed to find something to be exceptional at.
    
    Instead of being encouraging in whatever twisted way his parents expected it to be, this treatment caused Ezra to resign himself to being the family failure. He tried for a bit, but found no success. Even if he was mildly good at something, it was never good enough for his family. He was continuously sad and angry, which caused him to act out. His grades were terrible, he hung out with the wrong sort, and got into fights. After his first fight in middle school, the principal called his father. That night was the first time his father raised a hand to him, but it certainly wasn't the last. These actions only further pushed him into his rage. Since he knew his father would never be pleased with him, he decided he'd just piss him off as much as possible- not caring about the abuse it would trigger. He just wanted to mess with his family's reputation. If they were going to treat him like a disgrace, he might as well become one.
    
    So, his behavior throughout high school was terrible. Once he went on a string of shoplifting sprees with some shady friends and almost went to juvie, but his father used his connections to pull him out. But, that didn't mean he didn't face any consequences. Ezra hated it all, his father, his whole family really, his life. So, the second he turned 18 he skipped town, running away and never contacting his family again.
    
    He stole some really expensive things from his household, so he was able to get a car and pay rent. Some of that money is still in his savings, in case he's ever in a super tight place. He moved around randomly, first going to New York, but soon growing bored and moving on to another, town and then another. He craved excitement, never staying in one place for long, pulling up a random town generator and taking a road trip the second he got bored. A few months ago, Hawkley, Idaho was the town he ended up in. So, he got a job as a waiter at a local restaurant and rents a shitty apartment. He never really talks about his past and isn't super close to anyone.     She has a face that could make anyone jealous. Her figure is skinny with small curves, lithe with muscles that ripple with purpose.

    Personality

    Dakota started out as a very sweet, kind girl but as she aged things changed, and so she changed, too.
    
    She isn't very sweet or kind anymore. Rather, she could be described as mean by the majority of people. She doesn't like to be bothered by things she considers unimportant or useless and will take out any frustration she has on others.
    
    She's snarky, dismissive, and critical. Well... On the outside. In reality, she hasn't changed much from her youth. Despite Dakota's abrasive exterior, there are moments when her true nature surfaces, revealing glimpses of who she is underneath the walls. A miserably sad girl.
    
    She can't stand the idea of losing another connection or finding that someone she cares about is using her. She continues to yearn for an emotional connection despite all this. Once her loyalty is earned and she grudgingly accepts others' presence in her life, she gets very attached. In fact, she cares deeply about others and how they see her, she'll spend hours getting ready if it means no one will criticize her.
    
    When shown affection, she doesn't know what to do and gets so flustered that she defaults to her rude, apathetic ways.
    
    In most of the moments that she's honest about herself, she's either smoking a cigarette under the moon or blackout drunk. She seems to always be a drunk in the summer, no matter the time of day.
    
    Even when she's cutting back in the winter to focus on snowboarding, it's common to see her at a bar at night or stumbling around town crying or yelling. Her habits a blemish on her family's already dubious reputation despite the fact that she had moved out at 18 into the sleaziest part of town.
    
    In general, she hates being told what to do, runs entirely on spite, and will do incredibly petty and childish things when slighted. She holds grudges much too long and has too many problems to list.
  • Backstory

    Dakota was born a bastard, unwanted, and a symbol of infidelity.
    
    Her lecherous father's family more well-off than many could fathom. Wealthy enough to own a mansion and give a child anything they could ever want and well-known enough to be recognized for who they were by those who watched the sports they had competed in.
    
    Dakota wasn't accepted by her father, nor was she welcomed by her birth mother, who was still barely an adult, so she decided to threaten him with publically exposing his affair.
    
    Julia Howl, the woman whom her father had so graciously cheated on knew that if that happened, the perfect life she had so painstakingly created would crumble into ruin, made her husband take the child in as their own.
    
    As she grew up Dakota was keenly aware of her situation and was greatly appreciative of all they gave her, but she still wanted to be loved by them for real. Her older brother didn't have to do anything to get praise or affection! She didn't resent Harvey for that though, he was the only one who really treated her like family.
    
    By tradition, when they hit age ten they were expected to choose a sport, get good at it, and eventually make a name for themselves. Her father being a prime example of this, having been a talented Skier in his time. Though his legitimacy had been questioned many times.
    
    Harvey had chosen Snowboarding, he had always had this intense passion for all things 'board.' Skateboarding, Longboarding, anything really. He had a large amount of talent, but his work never was put before his little sister.
    
    Even when she was very little he still wanted her to be out there with him, so very grudgingly her parents signed her up for Snowboarding lessons, she started snowboarding when she was six instead of the usual age.
    
    Dakota's 'mother' still resented her existence and became particularly harsh on her as she got into the sport, even as she started school.
    
    Over the years her family's renown came after her, and she was targeted by people who disliked her parents because of their wealth and their less-than-stellar reputations, and blamed or accused her of being the same.
    
    Her only real friend was her brother.
    
    The two of them had both soared leaps and bounds in their snowboarding skill, always competing with one another. He was already becoming well known, at age nineteen starting competing in local competitions, and at twenty becoming a common sight at sporting events featuring snowboarding, well on his way to the Olympics.
    
    Then, just weeks before her 17th birthday on a foggy morning, her brother's snowboarding career was cut short.
    
    Dakota could never look at the two snowboards, sitting against the wall of her messy room with the same eyes.
    
    She'd never be the same person.

    Ronnie is both apathetic to the world and yet incredibly motherly. She lets people go about their business and tries not to get tangled in it, but she comes to care for others extremely easily and, well, her circus, her monkeys. She was stuck dealing with everyone else's issues whether they like it or not.
    
    She has a tendency to watch from afar only to break up arguments when she's decided they've gone too far. She works hard for a lazy person, always prepping for something or another. She loves to care for others, whether making them soup when sick or not judging them when they fuck up.
    
    She's very affectionate and loving, always gentle even when teasing. She isn't just motherly though. She is very silly, she likes making jokes, especially practical pranks or just doing outlandish things to see what sort of reaction she can get out of others.
    
    She's honest to god the best person to come to for support. She carries around snacks when she's out because no one in this damn town takes care of themselves. Even if she hates someone, she'll still put up with them and hear them out.
    
    Mind you, she still gets angry when people do things she thinks are wrong or if she's too exhausted. But over the years she's learned how to control her emotions.
    
    The way her parents raised her gave her a deep belief in honesty, understanding, and learning. That also means she's the bluntest woman alive and will drop truth bombs on others whether or not they're ready for it.
    
    She tries never to break a promise but will always say no to something she doesn't want to do or is unsure about, always asking questions even when it starts to get annoying.

    Ronnie couldn't be called a loner, sure she doesn't like parties or going out to bars that much, but a few friends and some drinks during the evening would suit her just fine. She loves to just vibe with the music or people around, she's never in a bad mood. tired, yes but not in a bad mood.
    
    What she wants most in her life is to live without having to regret it. To do things just because she wants to. To live in a way that she never has to say sorry because of her actions. To love and to lose is better than to never know after all.
  • Backstory

    Ronnie was born into a small family, Just her, her parents, and their dogs, in a suburban neighborhood in Texas. She wasn't some girl who grew up out in the boonies. No. She lived in the city like most people. Of course, she didn't escape the accent that came along with growing up where she did.
    
    She had been very close with her family growing up: her father, a dog shower and trainer, and her mother the breadwinner, working as a pediatrician. The two of them had always encouraged her to be a free-thinking child, to ask questions, to be different.
    
    She became independent early, eager to see the world, though that would never erase her love for her family. She learned to work with dogs, learning how to train them, and how they were partners more than pets to her.
    As wild and free as she was it wasn't always a good thing, Ronnie fell into the wrong crowd early on. Those who'd encourage ideas that weren't necessarily true or were harmful to her in ways she didn't even know.
    
    As someone who had, up to this point, every control in her life this was... confusing, and she didn't know how to handle it or say no. So she went along with them, being around these unkind almost psychopathic people.
    
    Once she got to her senior year of high school that influence peaked. Her Boyfriend at the time, Axel, had joined some gang, Ronnie didn't know the details entirely but knew it wasn't that safe. The thing was, Ronnie's parents knew too, and they had begun to get worried over Axel being near her.
    
    They sat her down and tried to tell her their thoughts on the situation... but Ronnie wouldn't listen. She was almost 18 and knew better than the adults. She yelled and screamed, and later that night she packed up a suitcase and boarded a train with her boyfriend, her favorite dog, a year-old Siberian Husky named Foam in tow.
    
    She first went to Chicago, hanging out in strangers' apartments barely able to get by until she became an adult months later. As time went on she and Axel... weren't doing great. Ronnie could see how he was dipping into drug culture, and while Ronnie is loyal she was not a fool, nor a suck-up.
    
    She dumped him. It was only weeks later she realized what she'd done. She'd abandoned her family. She'd left them behind with no word of her for months because of a boyfriend. One they were right about.
    
    Ronnie felt shame deep in her bones, she couldn't just go back. She... She could never look her father in the eyes again. So she penned a letter, telling them she was sorry. No return address.
    
    Ronnie hated being in Chicago now, so, just like when she first left all her troubles behind, she'd do the same now. Off she went, to some winter town she had decided on randomly, for Foam, he needed some cold air.
    
    She settled into a little house on the outskirts of the town, and eventually joined the local community college, got a job at the local pound, adopted another dog, a mixed breed, and started getting interested in dog mushing and other dog sports. She may be a beginner in them, but she enjoys the events immensely.

    Appearance

    Marlowe's hands are covered in callouses and cuts. They're always twirling or tugging on her hair, rings adorning each of them. Her hair is always sort of messy despite either the front being pulled back or in a ponytail.
    
    Her face is plastered with a small, polite smile that screams fake despite the kindness in her green eyes and posture. She doesn't have much of a figure, more likely to be described as a stick than anything else.
    
    She stands at about 5'4 and doesn't have any piercings, not even her ears, nor does she have tattoos.
    
    She's pretty pale but has a healthy flush to her cheeks, which has occasionally been mistaken for her blushing. Which in reality, makes her whole face turn bright red.
    
    Marlowe's always chewing on her lips or tapping her foot with a fervency that shows how eager she is to do anything if it means she doesn't have to sit around for a minute long.
    
    Her nails always have dirt under them, and there isn't a piece of clothing she owns that doesn't have at least one stain.
    
    The clothes she wears have a loose sense of whimsy about them, either looking deeply inspired by some time period or straight out of the nerd catalog, slightly dorky but still fashionable.
    
    She wears glasses when she's reading or studying but usually is too annoyed by them to bother with it, despite the fact she's pretty blind without them.
    
    When she smiles, she shows all her teeth, looking like a kid who doesn't quite know how to smile on command yet, and when she laughs her nose scrunches.
    
    All in all, shes decently cute but she wouldn't call herself a bombshell or anything.
    

    Personality

    She's the kind of girl who always has a nose in a book or headphones in her ears. She is a bit grumpy but goes with the flow, even to the point it's detrimental to herself.
    
    That doesn't mean she doesn't have wants or needs, she just doesn't want to inconvenience others with her issues. Always awkwardly accepting whatever is forced on her. She has a hard time saying no.
    
    Her emotions are always over-exaggerated and messy like she has a need to take up space. Marlowe often feels like she's less than others and forgotten, so, she avoids big groups of people so that she doesn't have to compete for the attention of people who don't really like her.
    
    She dislikes fighting because she always gets told to pick a side. So she can't really stand how everyone around her loves yelling about sports, they could at least spare her and talk about like... Math instead. She doesn't fully hate them, but she certainly isn't fond of them when they're only a source of friction in her life.
    
    She likes to be alone, or a face in the crowds, or one on one. Trios are her mortal enemy because she just believes others don't want to talk to her unless they have to. She is always assuming what people think too early and has bad self-confidence.
    
    None of this means Marley is unpleasant to be around, she's sweet, kind, and ambitious.
    
    She likes adventure and is always up for something new, even dragging others along with her to new places when she feels brave. Her eyes lighting up like she's just won the lottery every time she's on a walk around town.
    
    She's a bit whimsical always saying what's on her mind or acting before thinking. She loves to laugh and avoid her responsibilities if possible.
    
    She wants to go to college really badly and is afraid of not being able to because of her obligations. She can hold a conversation about almost anything and loves to have friendly arguments.
    
    Marlowe works at a local coffee shop as a barista and lowkey loves making drinks and is always fooling around with the machines.
    
    She carries around a tiny notebook to write down any ideas she has during the day or sketch out things she wants to draw. Marlowe loves painting and writing but is too shy to show others her work.
    
    In the mornings though, she's as grumpy as can get, probably because she is always staying up way too late.
  • Backstory

    She was the third child born to the Lark family out of the five kids that Sawyer and Sandra had, but this never meant she was forgotten, her parents loved her very much.
    
    Her mother had always been a bit of a hippie, always painting and creating and going out and exploring. She passed this love onto Marlowe, the child among all of them most like her. She was always creating, dancing, and playing in the woods with her.
    
    Her father was more sports-inclined, a rough and rowdy type, and most of her siblings took after him. She was always the type to watch from the sidelines, she and her father never really had a close relationship due to their natures.
    
    All her siblings were in sports, and she too was forced into them, though she didn't really care for them and soon quit. Her older siblings were always rough-housing, and her younger ones were always joking about how nerdy and awkward she was.
    
    She wasn't close with them in the sense of best friends, but she tended to be the most responsible of them and loved them still so was tasked with babysitting, and was the one in charge despite not being the oldest.
    
    Even when she was young, and it was just her older siblings and little brother she was the one taking care of them, two parents couldn't take care of even four kids with how much work they had to do being relatively poor.
    
    As long as she could remember her parents were always fighting about something or another. They loved each other, sure, but their core beliefs and differences in personality were so stark that it was hard to get along.
    
    It only got worse as time went on when all the other kids were at sports practice or with friends, she was home. So she... Saw some things. Her father was a cheater. A cheater and a liar. He knew she knew, and she knew he knew that she did... But... If she told her mother what he did what would happen to them?
    
    That feeling got even more complex when she realized that her mother, too, was cheating, and so she was stuck between them, at a standstill. Marlowe couldn't deal with it. She threw herself into helping her siblings, keeping them away from the drama and leaving the house to be alone when possible.
    
    Two years after she found out, now thirteen, her older Brother Blaine had suffered a large injury while skiing. He'd never ski again. Her father was devastated. Vowing to pay more attention to his kids, he quit his office job to stay home, and surprise surprise quickly found out what his wife was up to.
    
    He took her to court and got sole custody. Of course, Marlowe wanted to tell her mother that her father had started it and that he was the one who was doing worse to her, but he had kicked her out and pitted all the other kids against her, alienating her from them.
    
    Marlowe gave up once her father got sole custody, her mother moved far away to live with her boyfriend and rarely called her. Her father now looked at her with disdain, her the child who was most like the woman whom he hated so much.
    
    What was worst was that her father brought that damned woman into their house and all her siblings idolized her with how sporty and cool she was, especially after the news of her pregnancy came. They tossed aside their mother like a worthless piece of trash, she may have been flawed, but she loved them...
    
    Her father went back to work, and all was back how it was. She was a babysitter and mother to all her younger siblings, including her new half-siblings. She didn't blame them but... When was she going to have her own life?
    
    Only four years later, now seventeen, she feels as though she never will, as soon as she gets home she has to take care of the house and the kids so her stepmom can have a break. She has to give up all her time that she could use studying or painting for them. She is supposed to give up everything to take them all to sports practice.
    
    She was angry. When would it get to be her turn? When would she get to be the one who's important? She wished her family never got into sports, all they ever did was fight anyway. But she'd have to deal with this. For the sake of her siblings.

  Danae had always been a introverted person though she grew out of it as she got older, she seemed to reverted back to herself since the accident becoming more introspective and thoughtful. Prefering the company of herself of a select small group of people and tends to avoid crowds though she does intend the ocassional party. She is taciturn with a dry snarky sense of humor but with people she sis more comfortable her seriousness begins to break and can be more open and even a little silly. She is dedicated to people she calls friends and quick to support them and the best thing she does to show affection is to cook for them. She is quick to offer help but rare person to ask for it or talk to her troubles, forcing herself to deal with things on her own.   Danae was born to an Olympic power couple. Her father was Olympic skier Thanasis Karolidis who was the Greek participant to win for his nation in the winter Olympics earning three gold medals and setting two world records. Her mother was Andrea Ricci who won medals in various skating events. Their romance made them media darlings and despite retiring still maintain the spotlight becoming commentators in events and train the next generation of Olympics winter athletes. This meant she had a privileged upbringing thought her parents were loving, their busy schedules meant they did not have much time for their young daughter so she was raised mostly by her paternal grandparents, getting in touch with her greek culture.
  
  She began skating in one of the few skying trips to her mother’s home village in the Italian Alps when she was nine and found to have inherited her mother’s talent is skating. Her parents were encouraging to the young Danea who show it at as a way for her to spend more time with her parents who she idolised despite their absence. It was so the first few years of training under the guidance of her parents but soon they had gotten her another coach to train her which took a shot to her interest in skating but by this point she had to put too much effort and time and so did her parents so she did not see a way out of the path she had taken. The new coach was tougher than her parents and worked her hard throughout her teenage years with early rises and late evening spend training. Between that and her school free time was limited and had limited time for social life. This had led her suffer multiple bouts of depression but despite her parents’ insistence that she take it easier or giving up the sport for her health she insisted on keeping at it.
  Qualifying for the Italian Olympic winter team at age 18, it was that period of time that she meets other athletes and began to have a more active social life and more importantly began to drink more and more. Though there were some concerns regarding her health, she performed well and earning herself two bronze metals. It was respectable result but Danae was unsatisfied by it, she come out of the Olympics more determined to work harder, increasing her stress and the amount she drunk. This cumulated to her driving drunk one night where she suffered a severe care accident. It almost cost her her life but quick response from the medical staff saved her life, at one point she seemed to have been on the mend before a wound in her right leg caused a bad infections necessitating the removal of her leg.

    Melissa is a hard worker. Out of all the critics in the skating industry, she is her own biggest one. That striving for perfection is what’s slowly ruining her, bringing her morale for skating down.
    Years and years of training has made her somewhat recluse, she doesn’t interact much with many others at the rink and just wants to focus on her work. Some people have weasled their way into her heart though, and she holds them close to her dearly. Her few friends are like the light at the end of the tunnel for her, and she would do anything for them if they needed her.

    Melissa was the accident. Her mother was on the ups to becoming an Olympic star, but one mistake at the Kodiak led to the conception of Melissa. This ruined her career, throwing away the years of work to raise a child. Of course, this was all Melissa ever heard about as her mom worked to make her the prodigy.
    So, at a young age, Melissa began to train and train. All her life has been putting her real life work behind her to train to be the same as her mother, or even better. When she was three, her mother had Sage, in almost the exact same circumstance that Melissa was conceived through. And much like Melissa, Sage were training and training.
    Melissa was around 8 years old when her mothers mental illness began showing. But, it only got bad when she had the young girls doing burpees in the backyard at 3 am. This ended up getting her mother admitted to a psych hospital for a while. But the girls never stopped training for fear their mother would come back and get angry with them.
    At around 16, her mother fired her coach, which left Melissa to begin training on her own, with no one to lead her. Of course Melissa’s mentality to be the best faltered with the news, but she continued on while Sage got the best of the best when it came to a coach. So, when Melissa wasn’t in school or on the ice, she was working the dinner shift at the Sun Valley Lodge. This was also the age she discovered pair skating. With no coach, the only way to get the proper training she needed was to weave her way into the pair skating groups.
    Soon enough, she found herself a partner and a coach who was willing to be paid the bare minimum thanks to Melissas serving cash. Pair skating consumed her life, and became all she wanted to do. That is, until her partner, Jer, dropped her.
    Months were spent in the hospital, healing from the wounds to her head. She thought she would never be able to skate again. Until, she pushed herself to go back out on the ice. Even now she still struggled with the fear of falling. But, with no partner, no coach, and the fear of falling, she hopes that one day soon she can be the best again.

    Luca is your average rich kid. Spoiled to the nines, he is used to getting what he wants, whenever he wants. He will push for these things as well, so a lot of people dislike him in this manner.
    
    Along with this “get what I want when I want” attitude, he’s a very natural flirt. If he likes someone, he pushes himself to go get that person. Whether if its only one time, a few days, or a few months, Luca rotates through partners like a kid with Halloween candy. This also shows his over-confidence and cockiness.

    Luca’s family moved to Hawkley when he was fairly young. Not with the intention that their son would become a star athlete. No, they moved to Hawkley because his father was offered a position to run the construction of the new slopes with his company. At first it was only supposed to be a temporary living situation, but when their son began to grow and become amazing on the slopes, they decided to stay.
    Luca was always given whatever he wanted, and that included a team of coaches to get him to where he needed to be, to eventually become the best skier.
    His whole life consisted of school, skiing, school, skiing. He slowly started to become sick of it. That is, until he realized the attention it brought him, especially with the young tourists coming into town. So, he took advantage of that as a teen, and sort of fell off the wagon while partying and sleeping around.
    It wasn’t until his coaches threatened to quit that his father shaped up and put his son in his place. This made Luca fearful of the power his family holds within the small town.     Sage pretends to be a sweet girl. She pretends that she’s there for everyone and wants to be friends with everyone. But in reality, it’s all for show. She isn’t nice or sweet, or cares about what others think.
    She grew this mentality because her mother forced her to be the perfect one in the family. This made her a little spoiled, thinking she could get whatever she wanted from those around her. If she played her cards right.
    She struggles with the same health issues her mother has, but is better at hiding it. This makes her keep people at arms length, to not close enough to see the real her. So she keeps her mask on until she starts drinking. That’s when she gets a little wild.

    Sage’s life is a little different than her sisters. When she was born, the attention shifted from Melissa to Sage. That mentoring, the hiring of choreographers and coaches to make her better, even if her mother couldn’t really afford it.
    She liked this competition between her and her sister, it gave her a little rush that she was more important than the person who ruined her mothers life. But as she grew older, she began to resent the attention and focus that her mother gave her. She believed Melissa was the better skater until the accident. But, with her moms focus being taken away to kind of help Melissa heal, Sage missed that attention.
    Because of this, she began to rebel. She began to go out with her friends and drink and smoke weed, even though she was very young. She liked the feeling that partying brought her, so despite her moms protests, she kept doing it.
    She hates skating now, but only does it to keep her moms attention on her now that Melissa is healed. And with Melissa failing, she likes that she’s the better skater than her sister. So, she is even more competitive now.

    Katy is very quiet, and not the most confident when it comes to talking to other people. She seems like she’d be popular, based on her status within the town, but her mothers influence has done nothing to keep her friendly with the other residents in the town. In fact, her mothers status has put her at quite the opposite end of it all.
    When she does make friends, though, she is really bubbly and outgoing. With energy that radiates for days. While she wished she could be this outgoing with people more often, people don’t really enjoy the power her mother holds, for fear if they do anything wrong around Katy that it’ll get back to their parents somehow.
    While Katy is very closed off to most people, she is open to making more friends and maybe even find some love if it’s for the right person. But, she needs to discover who she is and what she wants to be before she takes that step in her life.

    Katy was born into an odd family dynamic. With her parents being unmarried, Katy's mom always held the power within the family. She ran the town, and later, ran the Sun Valley Lodge while their father only cheered on the sidelines. At first, it was almost like Katy was an inconvenience to their family, but as time went on, she came to realize that her father and mother were not actually a couple, but really close friends.
    With a brother who was born from a different mother, Leah was welcoming to the young man, but only when Katy was born. Her mother found it easier to pretend they were all a real family than to not pretend.
    So, being the only blood child from Leah, Katy's mother held strict standards for her daughter to maintain a good image from the town. Which, Katy had no issues agreeing to. She was, afterall, a good kid. She loved skating from the start, so when her mother funded for the rink to be built in town, Katy was on the ice as soon as the doors opened.
    She really enjoyed the competitive atmosphere, it took away from studying in school so much, and she became really good at it, really fast. It wasn't until she hit puberty and her body began to change, that the other girls started to become not so welcoming to Katy. As Katy's figure filled out, the girls became meaner.
    Despite her mother knowing of these issues, all she did was make it easier for her daughter to obtain a trainer and dietician. But she cared about her daughters health enough to not push her so hard, and even gave Katy the option to quit skating if she wanted to.
    But, Katy pushed through all the bullying and did her best to see past her body image, only to become the best for skating. Now, between finishing up school and training, the stress is beginning to get to her.

    Laken is… quite the person. She is outgoing and wild. When she gets to talking she can’t seem to stop. It is in her nature to debate, and will have no problems arguing with someone on something that she thinks they’re wrong about. She is flirty and has no issues pulling in hookups every now and then, and she tends to use this against people to get what she wants. She likes to think she’s a funny person, with one liners and a very open sense of humor. Sometimes she can be a bit much, but she just needs to be told this so she can take it down a notch.
    With her openness she has no issues getting into topics that would otherwise make other people uncomfortable, but that is her goal.     Laken was born in Palm Springs, California. She is an only child who was raised by two dads in a large house on the beach. She started off her TV career at a young age with her first role being on Barnie, after that her career took off. She has acted in a few major TV shows and Movies. But child acting became too much for her and keeping up with being a role model to children became too much. At 18 she started acting out and got herself into a few scandals which people thought would end her career. But as she matured, people started to like her again. She started a podcast called Red Flags when the term first became popular, and people loved it. She gave advice, showed her carefree attitude, and talked on popular topics in pop culture.
    It wasn’t until her family moved to Idaho where her popularity online grew even more. The town was popular as is, but with her knowledge on the sports offered, she decided to make it even more exciting by starting the OP Updates with her friend Patricia. The podcast at first was slow, but soon picked up with the last Olympic updates that people were desperately looking for. What made it even more interesting, instead of being just an old boring sports podcast, they threw in things like blind dating, pop culture references, and other things that would catch the hearts of the young ones in the area.

Have you ever watched any of the old westerns on tv? Ever see the lone cowboy in the back of the saloon sipping whiskey with his head down? That very well sums up Braxton into a nut shell, a quiet pretty laid back type of guy. Braxton seems to enjoy the presence of his horses more than other humans. Once you get past the awkward stage of things Braxton can be quite the character, often a joker and he enjoys pestering those he loves. If Braxton doesn't like you he isn't shy of telling you and he doesn't try to hide the fact that he doesn't fancy you either. While not looking for confrontation, Braxton isn't a stranger to it.

History:
(I wasn't going to do this bit but I think it might be good for this character)

35 years ago Braxton's family bought a large plot of land and created their ranch, the family owns only horses and cattle. The family supplies alot of meat to the local grocery stores. The family have also built a reputation for their ranch by having a small christmas tree lot. Braxton was a year old when they arrived and it was him, his parents and then his fathers parents. Both of Braxtons grandparents have since passed on however not without starting the towns Skijoring competition.

The town has always been very into winter sports. Braxtons Grandmother had been one of the best Skijoring competitors back in their home land. She had brought it up to the mayor and in turn the family was allowed to demonstrate it the first year and then the following years after, more and more people wanted to try it. And ever since then they have always held a skijoring competition in the town. They close off one of the main streets and make the course the length of the street, the competitor who completes the course and hits all the jumps with the fastest time, wins.

Braxton has since grown, all the while still helping out around the ranch and he even went to school to become a licensed mechanic. Braxton was able to purchase a small plot of land from his parents to build his home just five minutes down the road so he is still very much involved with the ranch.

  Smart would not be something to describe Bentley, he's ignorant and maybe a little spoiled. He never worried about not getting anything new and if he wanted something, all he had to do was ask until he started living with his dad where the sun didn't come up for nothing no more. Bentley was always a very loud child and he was not one to overlook.
  Bentley soon fell with the wrong crowds as in his nature it is to just go along, he'd never say no to anything and that's what made him ''fun''. He'd do keg stands and jump off a balcony into a pool just because it would be ''funny''. Bentley loved the attention it gave him and he started craving it sooner or later, recklesness came natural to him so it didn't seem like it was a big deal.
  He was always athletic but definitely not super star material, he often doesn't pay attention or stares at the cheerleaders, resulting in many blue eyes himself. Bentley definitely loved hanging out with the popular crowd but wouldn't turn his face to others as long as they were interesting to him in some way or another. He was pretty selfish if it came to relationships and maybe he had some commitment issues, resulting in him getting ''bored'' of someone he could've been talking to for months. He doesn't go out of the way of confrontation and is quite harsh when it comes to it, Bentley has some addictive tendencies and does pills probably more than a regular person but he mostly doesn't tell his friends when he does it by himself. Bentley often gets into fights when he drinks and looks a lot like his father in that way, he's also a lot more honest. Do with that what you like.

  Bentley was named after a car, a very expensive one at that. He had a little sister named Audrey and they mostly hated each other's guts and nothing much had changed. His mother was crazy about anything that had to do with money and that would show after his dad had divorced her to live with his secretary when he was only seven years old. Bentley's mom gave his dad a harsh court case and got back most of her precious money but poor Bentley was up for grabs. He moved back and forth between his parents in the beginning but at some point just moved in with his dad, who clearly was still frustrated at his mother. He had loose hands and an alcoholic problem and Bentley soon was hanging out with his friends more than with his mother, who impulsively decided to learn how to be a monk in Thailand. She was all over the place and clearly was struggling with a whole lot more than just parenthood. Bentley didn't quite voluntarily moved in with his dad but it would have to do. Bentley spend his days in a house that was most people's dream but to Bentley the stuff really wasn't going to fix his relationship with his father who spend most of his days hiding his drinking and being a ''good'' neighbor while he pushed his son to do better at school and keep drugs out of the house. That's exactly what Bentley tried to do but he had to dissapoint his father in both. Bentley spends his majority at school, hanging out with friends and smoking in the bleachers. Him and his dad still argue a whole lot but ever since he got a new girlfriend, he seemed to have ''changed'' and at that he now had to deal with his second mistress after the first one tried to sue him for a black eye.

    When his father got caught in an affair with a teacher, his mom and sister left Seattle faster than you could pronounce it. Oliver was left with his father who only spiraled downwards since his wife had left him but couldn't do anything about it. He was frustrated and it showed, poor Oli felt a lot of hate against his mother for not taking any custody over him and especially now he was locked down with his physchally abusive father and his alcohol problem. Oli started acting out to get any type of attention and definitely developed an anger problem, it wouldn't be the first time he kick a trashcan if he got sent out of class. Even though Oli lived moderately above standards, he'd spend little time home and hang out at the skate park with the wrong friends.
    Last year he commited a small robbery with a few friends and kicked in the windows of a electronic store but failed to open the cash register and got caught red-handed. He was never the smartest lightbulb around and even though he did great as a jock and was very good athletically he's been letting it slip by never showing up.     Teddy was born in the same trailer park as Carter Fallon and the two got along great, Teddy tried to flee the house as much as possible and almost never showed face at home even when his parents were still together. His mother moved to San Fransisco when he was only seven years old and took his little sister, Emery, with her. A messy divorce followed but there was never anybody asking for the custody of Teddy who was only ten years old and extremely troubled at school.   Adrian was the oldest out of the four kids that Bennet and Felicity Brown had, and for this, he was usually the one in charge since he was young as his parents spent most of their time working to provide for their family.
  
  Bennet was the owner of a mechanic shop while Felicity worked as a nurse in the local hospital even if they weren't able to live in luxury they always tried their best to give their kids the best life they could afford.
  
  Since he was young Adrian, spent most of his time looking after his siblings, he didn't really mind, after all, he knew his parents were busy working and he wanted to ease their worries somehow. While growing up Adrian managed to get good grades and got interested in sports.
  
  That's when Adrian discovered hockey as he realized how thrilling the sport was and while it wasn't an easy decision for his parents to just enroll him just like that, they still supported his son's dreams despite how difficult it could have been at the beginning. But with an unyielding determination to excel, he dedicated himself to the sport, spending hours perfecting his skills on the ice. Out Spoken, Quick witted and bold are just a few short ways to describe this young man. Zander is much more laid back and "fun" compared to his older brother Braxton. Zander rarely ever gets involved in any confrontations, in fact he normally would try to de-escalate the situation instead of just jumping right into the fire with guns blazing, talking and attempting to solve the problem is his preferred approach, unlike his brother who doesn't enjoy talking. Zander is fun and has a very contagious laugh about him. Focus and driven are also two great qualities that this young man possesses, he works full time on the ranch with his family but then he is also a part time welding apprentice.

Zander has a true passion for snowboarding though, he and his brother have been a main attraction every year for the Skijoring event held at the lodge. History-

While Zander was born here and raised here he knew alot of his families history and was proud of who he was and where they had came from. Upon graduating highschool Zander got very involved with the christmas tree farm on the ranch but also helped with the livestock.   Alexi is the oldest of the two Vasilevsky siblings. Raised by two champion athlete parents, a skier and a biathalonist, it was no surprise to anyone when Alexi took to the ice like a fish to water. Originally wanting to train to be a professional skier like his father, everything changed the second Alexi stepped foot onto the ice. From that day forward, Alexi was dedicated to the sport. Alexi began to homeschool, taught by a private teacher in Moscow between his long sessions on the ice. His collection of metals quickly grew until shortly after high school, Alexi won silver in the men's solo figure skating in the Beijing Olympics.
  
  Winning silver didn't stop Alexi. He immediately began training for the next round, determined to win gold. He put in more hours, slept less, worked more even despite the warnings from his coaches. Alexi didn't listen, one of his biggest regrets, and during training one day, he fell after a jump and cracked his skull open on the ice. Alexi spent weeks in the hospital, one of which was in a medically induced coma to stop his brain from swelling, before moving on to months of rehab to recover from the brain injury. Alexi wanted to return to the ice, to get back to doing what he loved most, but each time he tried to put on his skates, he simply couldn't. Heartbroken and completely defeated in the face of his injury, Alexi's little sister Ana mad the proposition to move somewhere to regain his confidence, somewhere quiet and relaxing. This brought them to the Sun Valley Resort where both of the Vasilevsky siblings now work and train.   Isabella was born as Isabella Edison, an orphan, abandoned at the hospital when she was born. She was put into the system and bounced back and forth from foster homes. Either she was kicked out because they didn't have room for her or she was kicked out because of her behavior. Even when she behaved in her foster homes, never wanted her around, and sometimes even abused her. She hated to go to school so she just ran and explored the town. If she didn't want you to know where she went, you wouldn't.

  At the age of 13, before she found something to believe in. She was taken into correctional jail for teens skipping schools and selling. She stayed there for a good year and a half. The good was overshadowed by the bad so much that Isabella gave up. Until she met Veronica Rose. Her last foster home was not good, not good at all and she was broken physically and mentally. She was 14 and still had no place or nobody to turn to. Nobody wanted her either since she was known around town as a huge troublemaker. They were scared to take in someone like her. Then Veronica appeared and took her in. She was a strong single woman, she never asked about Isa's past or where she went when she wasn't at school. She gave her space to heal and trust her. Which was all that she wanted. She learned to trust the woman and felt like calling her mom. She was her hero but she had long given up on adoption.
  
  A year and a half went past and she was still a foster kid, and not a Rose. Veronica had been sneaking talks around her and social workers showing up. Isabella figured that Veronica had enough and was ready to let her go. She had been in and out of the correctional jail for teens since Veronica had gotten her and she might have been too much trouble. She had enough of foster homes for a while and wasn't about to go to a group home. So she ran. She ran far away, not caring where she was going as long as it was far away from there, she was only 16 years old. It was 2 months of living on the streets until someone found her. It was Veronica. She dragged her back to her home. While in the car, they didn't talk, just a few mutters from Veronica.
  
  She was muttering about how she has been looking for her everywhere, and that she had been freaking worried. She had never known someone who chased after her and was stunned. Isabella made the mistake of saying your home and not hers and ended up getting shouted at by Veronica. Screaming how she was planning to ask her if she wanted to be a part of the family and that everything was ready. She cried right then and there. They got home, and Isa was hugged by Veronica once they both got out of the car so tightly that she felt like the woman thought that she would disappear if she let go but she did let go.
  
  For the next two years, Isabella lived as a Rose. She was a total troublemaker, most of the time driving her adoptive mother crazy. She would get told off by her mother but still have a loving home at the end of the day. Still, there was this little voice inside of her, telling her that she didn't want her, or she just took pity on her. She always had this deep fear that Veronica or Ma, who started to call her would send her back to the foster system the second, she became too much for her. Her worst situation came to life when her mother told her that she had been offered a job as the chief of a hospital in a different state. She couldn't tell her mother that they couldn't go because she knew that this was the woman's dream. So she told her to go. Only, even after telling her to go, her mother didn't even try to fight her to leave. Even when she told her that she would stay in this town, her mother let her go without even a second thought.
  
  This brought the truth to light. Her mother had gotten tired of her. Of her troublemaking ways, of her not trusting her, of her just being Isa. Even after leaving town, her mother barely spoke with her, and when she did, she sounded uncaring. Not like the woman, that raised her for the past couple of years. That chased after her. It was like the woman had given up on her daughter. Given up on Isa. Isa deciding that enough was enough, went back to her troublemaking ways full stop. She stopped trying to be the person that she was trying to be and started being herself. She went back to being called Isabella Edison.

  Kieran was born and left at the hospital. His mother was a druggie, and his father was unknown. His mother wanted nothing to do with him, so she gave birth and then gave him up to the state. At first, it was hopeful that he would get a family being a newborn but unfortunately, because of his mother's drug use, he was born with a birth defect. He had a hole in his heart, that needed to be repaired. The hospital became his second home, and soon after his heart was repaired, he was sent to a foster home where he came to meet Isa. He was 7 at the time, and she was 6. She became his family, looking after him and him looking after her.   Some of their foster homes were only in it for the money, and barely feed either of them. Isa just kept getting skinnier and skinnier. Key couldn't let her just perish away, she was his only family so he set out to find a job that an 11-year-old could do without getting in trouble by working too young, and he found a drug dealer with a boss who took pity on him. Giving him a job to run drugs and at times sell them, he got money quickly. It took longer for him to convince Isa to come on board, knowing that she had a strong dislike towards drugs and alcohol due to what they had experienced at their foster homes but she finally did. They became a team out there, and they were one of the most trusted runners when Isa got caught by cops. It was Key's fault, he had made a mistake and she covered for him.
  
  She wouldn't snitch on him or their boss which caused her to spend a year in Juvie, during that year, he was so lost without her. Luckily he had two of their closest friends watching out for him as he waited for her to get out. When she did, she was different. Happier. It was two years before he got the courage to ask her out. He was 14 and she was 13. And they were together for nearly three years. He let her do whatever she needed to...even if it was drugs.
  
  Isa had developed a pretty horrible habit and that was drugs. It started as something to help combat the nightmares that came at her at night and then it became a crutch. And he kept supplying the crutch. Now they are still friends in secret because the foster home that she was in, wanted them separated.   Marley is crazy harsh on herself. No letting up on training, if she fails at something, she will try again and will not care about the bruises that may come. She is also very shy, and quiet. She hates social gatherings and prefers to stay to herself. She does have anger issues, especially when it comes to her siblings. She would instantly shout and get into the face of someone who dared to mess with her siblings. She doesn't care about much, and her apartment is pretty much a bookstore.   Marley Harding was born to Samuel and Laura Harding. She was the oldest of three children. She was raised in a loving household, her mom and dad just wanted the best for their daughter and eventually their son and youngest daughter. They pushed her to be the best in school, in anything she was good at. At a young age, she loved the snow, how it fell, how it was pretty on a fresh winter's morning. Something about it drew her in, so much so that her parents even decided to do a family vacation at the Rocky Mountains in the winter as a present to Marley. If she knew what would happen during that trip, she would have begged her parents not to go.
  
  She was only seven when she first touched a ski but something about it made sense to her. And it showed, as even as a first-timer, she was gifted.   Next thing she knew, they were packing up their house and leaving the friends she made to go to a town called Hawkley, Idaho. There, she was put into ski training. She lived and breathed the snow. Even on the off seasons, they forced her into sports to keep her body fit. And the training never stopped. All sudden she felt like she wasn't allowed to be a child anymore, all she was to be was the best skier that they could have. Everything was judged and watched. If she got something wrong, she was made to practice until she got it right. Her parents weren't cold or unloving, they just wanted the best for their kids and the pressure of that is what got to Marley. She started to have panic attacks and anxiety from failing, and one failure could send her into a spiral.
  
  Suddenly all her siblings were in the winter sports and thriving in them. The pressure that was aimed at Marley, transferred somewhat to them. She didn't want them to feel the same pressure so she took the spotlight, always being number 1, making sure that her parent's eyes were always on her. She protected her siblings from the anxiety and the stares, and once she turned 18, she decided to change her look. Changing from the brown hair to the black. Getting any tattoos she can. She started talking less and less to her parents. As their pressure was increasing her anxiety.
  
  Now she is twenty-three and works as a waitress at the local shop. She still trains and ski in competitions but she doesn't speak to her family that much other than her siblings. She separated herself from them, leaning towards more of the bad crowd, drinking and smoking when she could. Everyone saw how the golden girl had changed, and she didn't care.   Callum by no means was an idiot. By the age of 6, he was already reading books beyond his reading level. He passed every test and was considered a top student but he was quiet. He stayed by himself most time, not even attempting to make friends. His IQ was amazing but his social skills were less than stellar. It came to a point where he was suspected of having autism, or Aspergers. It was discovered that he didn't have any of those conditions but instead suffered from social anxiety. He wanted to make friends but it was simply scary for him. After some therapy, it became better but he was never outgoing. He kept to himself and only spoke his mind with the people he was close to. He is shy and has anxiety. He hates crowds, and he is protective over the people he cares about. He's not very confident but is a good advice-giver. He's very calm at times.

  Callum was born to parents who loved him. From the moment he was born, he was their pride and joy. It was only as he grew up that they noticed something was different about their son. He hated crowds, and he didn't have many friends aside from his best friend who lived next to him and was homeschooled. It wasn't that he wasn't smart, he was really smart. By the age of 6, he was reading beyond his reading level. Teachers all had brilliant things to say about their son. It's just that he didn't interact with kids his age. He stayed to himself and never talked much. They were worried about their child so much that they took him to a specialist who said that he might have autism or Asperger's. After several appointments, it was discovered that he had social anxiety. It wasn't like he didn't want to make friends. It was that it was too hard for him to make friends. He was scared too.   With his best friend, it was easy. She had known him since birth, they'd been best friends since diapers but she was the outgoing one of the pair. She was quiet like he was but she could make friends. Other kids, not so much. It was suggested that he get therapy, to help with the anxiety which it did. It became easy to talk to kids his age, but only if they talked to him first. It was hard to open up so he rarely did. The only person he opened up to was his best friend. She knew about his social anxiety and was the one to cheer him up after the diagnostic. She never judged him and for that, he was always grateful for. He grew up kinda lonely, only having a few friends who after a while came and gone. At the age of 8, he found his love of cars. His dad was a mechanic and took him to his shop and this was where he found his love of cars. In a car, he wasn't as scared as he was to be around people. He was a different person in a car. At the age of 13, he started to spray paint on the side of the buildings, it wasn't a big deal to him. His dad taught him how to paint when he helped out with the shop designing inside. It might have been a little illegal but he used his middle name and wore a mask during tagging so he wouldn't get caught.

PSYCHE
BASICS: If you were to ask Caleb to talk about himself, he would say that there's nothing interesting to say. He would run through a laundry list of activities he does: studying part time as an online university student majoring in sports medicine, becoming a new employee at a local Hawkley coffee shop, and interning with the Olympics medical center. However, there are much more than surface-level facts to explain him. Caleb is a very private person, which might come across as standoffish. Though, when he can find the ability to trust that person, he's the sweetest boy imaginable. He is also very quiet, finding that the way he best expresses that he enjoys a person's company is through small acts of service, hidden, and not admitted to.

TIME MACHINE

When he was in early high school, Caleb temporarily stopped attending classes and was eventually withdrawn due to excessive absences. Consequently, he transitioned to an online educational program. The reason behind this was overwhelming anxiety that was never dealt with, leaving Caleb with no idea of how to take care of himself. Subsequently, Caleb fell in with a group of peers who were also not academically inclined, leading him to develop unhealthy habits involving alcohol and drugs. The culmination of this came from late junior year, following an overdose, and the strengthening of a relationship between Caleb and his parents, who, previously, were not close to their only child. This prompted Caleb to refocus his efforts, complete his education, and distance himself from his former friends. He dedicated himself to excelling at online university while consciously avoiding alcohol, recognizing his susceptibility to dependency and fear of falling into old habits. He made himself so busy he wouldn't have time to think about how much he fucked up. Despite his excitement for an Olympic internship, which aligns with his aspirations, Caleb is more scared than he's ever been. This is the first time that he will be constantly surrounded by so many people since he was fourteen years old. He did not leave California on a good note, either, reluctantly telling his parents about the move just days before he left.
