I mean these are your own words and I was arguing against making another stat that taijutsu users need.

I'm reading into a bias that may not may not be there. I'm not accusing people of intentionally trying to buff their own characters by manipulating what I do. People don't want to feel nerfed which is a completely acceptable thing to feel. What I'm saying is that it isn't a nerf, don't worry about it. Even if you want to have the stat high, the extra slot is mid level of your current rank, so it's not like I'm adding another low current rank slot or mid lower than current rank slot. If the trait is beneficial to your character then put it in that extra 3 slot.

The way I see it an actual taijutsu pure player character has no actual need for dexterity at all, so this is kind of confusing me at a base level.

I think we should stop overcomplicating all these stats, leave them as is and get on with rping. We've done more debating than actual rp lol

Duwang Duwang *whistle* That's some strong ass genjutsu to make your actions of tying them up imperceptible to them~

They are nameless fodder characters though so...

Not to many street level fighters gonna be able to even perceive that stuff.

Just gotta hold it down for Duwang here.

Oh and Duwang Duwang

Whats the proper name for the springs that you said I should use? There's so much in the OOC that I really don't want to go post mining lmao. If you remember it let me know. If you can't recall I'll go grab my excavator.

I refrained from asking this because I thought I'd see it elsewhere, but how familiar are our characters with one another? Family name basis for the most part? No familiarity at all?

Similar age group so tentative knowledge of each other at least. If you want more concrete history/friendships/rivalries then you can ask people if theyre down.

Uncultured Uncultured Will there be a limit for accepted characters? This goes back to the question I asked earlier.

When I first checked the interest thread for this RP, I think it said you were looking for at least ten members. I figured that reasonable. 2 squads split into five. That seemed manageable for maybe one DM to handle.

But now we're in 15~ characters deep, and as we all know the more people in a thread, the more chances peoples timezones conflict, the longer it takes for each round of RPs to be submitted, and the easier it is for things to begin grinding to a halt.

As it currently stands, we can't split 15 people evenly between 2 squads, and 15 people sitting in one thread will take a day, or two each round of posts.

Do you plan to possibly get another DM so you don't become overwhelmed, or ultimately burned out?

If not..and I know this sounds bogus. But I think the best course of action would be curbing the number of accepted players to 10. To evenly fit 5 in each team.

Just an idea. Welcome to suggestions.

EDIT
Of course, this all depends on what kind of RP you want to run. If its a DM-lead, story driven experience then I'd suggest what I mentioned above.

However, if this RP is going to be a type of experience where players pick their own squads, and go on their own adventures themselves with little to no assistance from an admin then I don't really see the player count being an issue ( Unless you can't open up multiple threads for numerous squads to interact in. ) Only issue with this would be, of course, the moment we all try to cram into a single thread for a large event.

Honestly, I quit being the GM. Choose among yourselves the next person to get chewed out in the OOC... *Cough cough* the next GM. My vibe is killed and it seems other people have lost their desire to deal with me.

If KnightOfNight KnightOfNight wants to take over, they are the Co GM so, they can. If not then idk, put up a poll, vote on it eh?
Whoever does end up GMing I wish you the best. If no one does than oh well, another dead RP to add to the million strong stack of time pits that have failed to turn into anything.

😋 ✌️

Oh and here is a big ass point that I just have to let rip. If you're going to make a character that is limited to one style of attack and that attack style is inherently weaker than other styles, then you are self limiting and should accept the fact that your character will be weaker than other characters. My fucking God the amount of conflict over that one misunderstanding. Yeah, there are three styles guys, if you only focus on one you will have weaknesses. Its almost like the source material where the only taijutsu specialist that cracked the top tier did so by literally killing himself in the process before being saved by ninja Jesus.

Call me a ranting lunatic idc, if I ever RP again it will not be as a GM, I do not have the patience to deal with this shit.

Knight has the plot. Ask them for it whoever it may concern.

I wasn't aware of this until now, myself; while of course it would be a bummer to get curbed, I'm pretty malleable.

Although, even if you were to bring the limit back down to ten; the difference in timezones would still be an issue, as with 15 characters. You yourself stated 10 people was good because you could split it 5 / 5, a total of 15 would just be another 5 member team. As for waiting on the round, ten people is still a lot of waiting when larger events are concerned, things could come up for anyone and anyone could decide they don't want to wait until morning to post; that's why the idea of having teams with their own threads is the best solution, whether or not the DM handles the goings on of each, due to each round being shortened to 5 in a cycle. It's also the best solution, regardless of number the current characters and DMs, so long as you could either split by 5 or so.

What I'm not certain of, is the difference five more players make. Regardless of timezone. I mean, isn't longer posting cycles the risk you run with forum RP to begin with?

This worry would also assume that all 15 members would be present for the same event, or that all are even needed.

So, I said before; I just got here and all, but I didn't see much conflict. Just some mild-mannered discussion, with little to no good results and from how it looks, a negative outcome. I assume stuff went down in DMs, but that's none of my business; to even assume, really. Either way, this decision is a bit out of the blue and quite rash; even if there were one or two people you had disagreeable moments with, that doesn't seem like the sort of thing to dump potential out the window over; in turn, if the worst were to happen, making it a waste of time for people who invested it here instead of elsewhere. I wouldn't call you a ranting lunatic, that's absurd; it's okay to be upset and fed up, but it's better to look at the bigger picture, ya know... Realize that things would probably have gone smoother tomorrow if you just rode out the rough patch today.

Hey, look; I can rant too.

Uncultured Uncultured
Then what's the point of trying to have a system for balance if it doesn't actually balance anything? That's kinda what they're for and what plenty of games both aim for and achieve, the Fighter sits on about even ground mechanically with the Wizard, it's not exactly unheard of.

As for source material, sure lets ignore Lee being a competitive cast regular and Guy being regarded as comparable to Kakashi despite his obvious comparative limitations, with his suicide coming from a specific use of a ridiculous escalation supermode against the series' endboss.

Also if you'd like to say something to me you can @ me, y'know.

Well guys, I asked Uncultured Uncultured to transfer thread ownership to me and he hasn't gotten back to me on that subject yet. If worst case scenario happens and he doesn't, how would you all like me to continue this? I'd hate for everyone invested here to miss out on this fun.

I don't know but I would like a break inbetween the combat to get some rp in before the next big plot point.

Character interactions are nice yeah. Kotone has had some amusing interactions thus far I feel.
