Trait system
1st trait is the average for the rank above you. So for us right now your first trait is mid Jonin level because we are Chunin. So Jonin level Chakra control for example.
2nd is upper of current rank, so upper Chunin level speed for example.
3rd is right on the money average for the current level, so mid Chunin level.
4th is low for the current level so low chunin for us off start, it's passable but needs work.
5th is the middle of the level below us so for us that's mid level Genin.
As we progress, these traits stay the same but they slide up. So when we become Jonin, for example, that 1st trait becomes mid Kage level, and the 5th trait is mid chunin level.
Stat splits
The stat splits are current type focuses and you'll get a generous amount of points to apply to those as the story goes on.
Those stats dictate what level of attacks you can use.
10-20 = Acedemy to genin (D rank)
20-30 being genin to chunin (C rank)
30-40 being chunin to Jonin (B Rank)
40-50 being Jonin to kage (A Rank)
50-60 being Kage to God (S rank)
The higher you are within a rank set, the more effective attacks of that rank are. A 60 rank taijutsu user will be better at using say, the seventh gate, than a 51 rank user.
Suggestions
You will feel weaknesses. Don't think that a jonin level combat stat can fully cover for two stats at academy level. At the same time that specialist will shine in certain situations. It's a give and take. You can be super duper dumb ass strong at one thing off the start and compete with upper tier Jonin at that one skill (like Lee in the Chunin exam arch) or you can be more well rounded and be serviceable against anyone. It's up to you, but no matter what you pick
.... Don't do a triple split, I'm gonna be honest, a 22-22-21 split would just be some ass.
Bans
If you didn't see before, most Kekkei Genkai are banned, the exception being elemental Kekkei Genkai. It always becomes a power stacking arms race as soon as someone sticks Uchiha on the end of their name, so I'm just avoiding it.
