~*Shattered Nairys*~
This is Nairys. A world shattered open by a mad man and held together by magic. Every piece of Nairys is anchored to its core by magical chains, and interconnected by bridges, both mundane and magical. While magic was once nearly forgotten part of the world, it is now at the center of everything. Much of the technology has incorporated it along with other scientific phenomena. Parts of humanity have been mutated by magic, and it brings life to those constructed, not born. The power available through magic has only increased, leading to some with demigod –like powers. But as this new Golden Age for Nairys continues, a fear has begun to stir in the minds of the people:
What happens if the magic runs out?
~*Voyages of the Dauntilus*~
Welcome aboard the Dauntless, a tramp transport airship navigating the collection of floating land masses that make up Nairys’ skies. While most people in more civilized parts of the world wouldn’t think a simple transport would need the impressive engines, defensive matrix, and hidden weapons systems in her hull, but then again, they haven’t had to deal with sky pirates, shipping monopolies, or the strange creatures that are found if one flies too low. But just how an independent ship could afford such tech is just one of the secrets that surround the Dauntilus.
You see, very few join the crew of the Dauntilus completely of their own free will. You were contacted by a man named Dominic Pavrum, and were made an offer you couldn’t refuse. Maybe you owe him money through third parties. Maybe he has something you need. Or maybe doing what he wants buys his silence on the subject of a dark secret you’d like to stay buried. Blackmail is such a ugly word, but it has its uses.
So, once again, welcome aboard. If you’re lucky, your contract will be over before you know it, and you can leave with peace of mind. It’s happened before. It all depends on how useful you are to the Dautilus.

- While there is no character limit, it is recommended to keep the character count low.
- The option to be an innocent bystander who joined the crew or boarded as a passenger is available, but realize that some weird crap is gonna happen that might make people that don’t have to stay with the Dauntilus to leave. Plan accordingly.
- Whatever Pavrum has on you can be clearly stated in the CS, or you can PM it to me for secrecy. No one else on board will start out knowing why you took the job.
- “Crew” is a broad term. There is the standard positions to expect, but there are also long term passengers who are there at Mr Pavrum’s request. They are usually there for their knowledge, skills and/or power that has nothing to do with the daily running of the ship.
