Realistic or Modern ๐ฌ๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ง๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ, ๐ข๐ฌ๐ง'๐ญ ๐ข๐ญ?

"Mhm." Alex followed her towards the front door. Now the interaction between just the two of them was coming to an end, he realised how not awkward any of it was, which was a surprise to him. He didn't get along well with many people, and when he spoke to a lot of the people he did get along with it could get quite awkward, a lot of it probably fault of his own since he was always so reluctant to make conversation. But with Ellie it was different, their interactions seemed to happen naturally and flow well, which he liked. He quickly finished off his beer and tossed it into the trash before they left, not wanting to end up with an empty beer can in Josh's car.

He patted his back pocket to ensure his wallet and keys hadn't fallen out at any point, and headed outside so he could wait for Ellie to close up and set the alarm. He didn't think it was too chilly outside, probably because his sweatshirt was keeping him quite warm, but he wasn't someone to notice a chill.

To his question, Skylar just smiled. She wasn't going to tell him, at least not right now. The conversation replayed in her head and she did get a little flushed, hoping she didn't make a fool of herself by being difficult.

"I should hope so. It is a lovely car." She added. The inside of the car smelled like him, not a surprise, and cigarette smoke which she quite liked. Maybe it just reminded her of him, either way she enjoyed it. Skylar did know how to drive, she just hadn't taken her test yet. She didn't particularly want to, it was something that she was dreading and at the moment there was no point considering she didn't have a car. Her parents were always using the one they had so there would never be chance for her to drive that one, and she could in an emergency so she put off doing her driving test.

Ellie followed Xander out the door with her beer in her hand, stealing a few sips on it before she shut the glass door. She adjusted the bag on her back, and then thought of setting the beer down on the floor but winced a little at the idea. Even though she wouldn't be drinking from the bottom of the can which touched the floor, she still felt a little grossed out by the prospect of setting her can down on the dirty outside floor. So, she looked at Xander.

"Could you hold it for me please?" She asked, holding the can in his direction but not too close to him in case he refused to take it from her. Which she doubted he would, but for some reason the pessimist inside Ellie was convinced there was a chance that he would.

Joshua acknowledged her compliment with a slight chuckle, before focusing his attention on entering the parking lot by the Video House. There were a few spots right outside the store and even though they were reserved, no one would notice if he parked there for just a few minutes, so he did just that. He spotted Alexander and Ellie exiting the video store right as they arrived. Perfect timing.

After slipping the car into the parking spot, he rolled down the window and rested his elbow on the now glass-less part of the car.

"You guys ready?" He called out to the two of them.

Xander was surprised when Ellie asked if he could hold her beer, no one really asked him for favours even if they were that small. He didn't respond verbally but took the beer from her and held it in order to signify his willingness to do so. As soon as he took it he heard a car close, so turned to watch and of course saw Josh pull in to the parking lot. He couldn't help but smile cheekily out of pure excitement about the fact he was going to be drunk soon. He walked over to the car, walking past Josh's window and pointing to the can.

"Ellie's." He stated and quickly rose his pointer finger that was resting on the can up, honestly just so Josh didn't think that Alex was the one bringing drinks into his car. Xander had no idea if that was something Josh detested, but he'd rather not be on anyones bad side before a night of fun. He had the 4 remaining beers securely under his left arm, but felt no need to mention anything since they were all still sealed.

Sky grinned at the two of them as they walked towards the car, excited that the four of them were reunited and the fun could begin. Of course they still had to go and buy some alcohol but to Skylar that was still part of the fun.

"Hii!" She chimed, undeniably happy to see the pair. She wondered how long Alex had been there, and if they got along well. She liked Alex, she thought he was cool and didn't necessarily cause harm to anyone so she had no reason to dislike him. Plus, Ellie seemed to be decent friends with him so all was fine.

Ellie gave him a slight smile of appreciation before turning away from him to deal with the padlock on the door as well as the security system. She first slipped the key into the padlock so no one could get the door open, before locking the door with a different key and then typing a security code into the keypad. They had a few break ins in the last year, particularly from young delinquents, so her boss had installed a bunch of extra security to prevent it from happening again. So far it seemed to be working. Apart from movies they sold limited edition figurines from the films they rented, which was typically what went missing. She still thought it was rather stupid to break into a video store though. If you're going to break in somewhere, might as well make it worth your time.

Just as she was about to input the security code, the car pulling up behind them caught her attention. Before focusing on the car, she quickly worked through setting up the whole security system before turning around to face her friends, following after Xander.

"Nah I don't mind." Josh shrugged at Xander. He wasn't picky about people drinking in his car. He didn't know Xander well, but from what he saw of him, he didn't look like the type of klutz to spill beer all over his seats. Besides, like he specified, it wasn't his beer in the first place.

"Hey!" She grinned upon spotting Sky in the front seat, catching up to Xander and gingerly taking the can from him, sort of without a warning. Her warm fingers brushed against his in the process, a contrast to the cold metal can he had been holding. She did take note of it, but was far too focused on Sky to really think about it.

"C'mon let's go I wanna get high." Josh egged them to get into the car, so Ellie did as instructed, pulling the door open and tossing her bag into the corner of the car before slipping in.

"We have to buy alcohol first." She reminded him, scooting over so Alex had space beside her.

The tall boy also noticed her fingers brushing against his; it felt nice since his fingers felt like they were freezing due to being sandwiched between a cold can and even colder air. But it wasn't a big deal to him, though he did note that it was the second time it had happened, not that he was complaining. Alex opened the door and slid into the back beside Ellie, pulling his seatbelt on as he spoke.

"The most important part." He added to Ellie's statement, nudging her gently with his elbow.

Sky nodded, "Mhm, so let's go!" She said, turning her head round to look at the pair in the back. She felt special being sat in the front with Josh, even though it made the most sense since she was the closest to him out of the three of them, and the first one he picked up, but it was still a nice feeling. In her head she weighed up her alcohol options, she didn't want to be blackout drunk because she would definitely embarrass herself, and didn't want to burden anyone else if she needed taking care of. But she still wanted to have a good time, she'd just have to know when to stop drinking which was difficult considering her lack of experience. But with Ellie, and someone who wasn't even drinking, there she knew she'd be fine either way.

Ellie let out a quiet laugh in response to Xander. She was honestly really excited to get drunk. She could never turn down an offer that involved alcohol, especially on a Friday night with good company. The girl proceeded to fasten her seatbelt.

"Who's going into the store to buy?" Ellie then asked. They were all underage, so they had to choose wisely or they'd run the risk of getting ID'd or worse, the cops called on them. That would not be a great start to the night.

Joshua didn't really respond to Ellie as he began to drive out of the parking lot. He wasn't going to be drinking, so unless they were going to ask him explicitly, he wasn't going to offer buying. He had a gram of sativa along with all his rolling supplies in his backpack which was sitting somewhere in the back seats, probably at Ellie or Xander's feet since he had simply tossed it back there when he got into the car. He anticipated a response from either Xander or Sky instead. He wasn't sure whether they were planning on sending someone in alone, or go in a pair.

Alex waited for a moment and since no one else was offering, and he wanted to run as low of a risk of getting caught as possible, he offered. Since he was so tall and didn't act like an excited teenager about to get drunk, he figured out of them all he'd be the best one to go in.

"I'll go." He told them all. "I've never had any trouble with it before." He added truthfully. He'd bought alcohol a few times before by himself and the shopkeeper usually seemed to unbothered or tired to check if he was actually of legal age to be buying it. Since he was buying enough for more than one person this time he guessed it might be a little more difficult, but he liked a challenge- especially if it meant he could get drunk after it.

"What does everyone want?" He asked, figuring they'd have to suss out the perfect amount where it'd be enough for 4 of them to get drunk, but not too much for it to be suspicious and raise the shopkeepers attention enough to question Alex.

Sky hummed as she replied, "Hmm, ooh a bottle of vodka?" She suggested, figuring more than one person liked it and that Alex could just grab some of the cheaper stuff and make do. To this, Alex nodded and then he looked at Ellie for any other ideas. He didn't know if one bottle of vodka and four tepid beers would satisfy them all. He knew it took him a decent amount of alcohol before he'd break the barrier between tipsy and drunk.

Joshua's attention wasn't particularly on the conversation between the other three. He was focusing on a mix between their voices and the soft music playing from his radio, as well as the way to the nearest liquor shop he typically stopped at. He always tended to buy from the sketchier corner shops since those typically had shopkeepers that didn't care for checking IDs. They'd probably have better luck there. It was just a few minutes away, so by the time they'd settle on what to buy, they'd probably reach the shop.

Ellie thought it was a good idea for Xander to go. He was the tallest of the four, and he didn't seem like he'd get nervous and give off the vibe that he was a minor. She also agreed with Sky's suggestion of buying a bottle of vodka. That was exactly what she was going to suggest, so when Xander looked at her expectantly, she wasn't sure what else to suggest.

"Uhm.. two? Bottles of vodka?" She suggested. Even if they didn't finish all of it tonight, they could always save it for another occasion. Better more than less, right? If he was going to get the cheap stuff and they were splitting the cost then it wouldn't be too expensive for each of them.

Josh heard that bit of the conversation and let out a slight chuckle. He doubted anyone would disagree with her.

Alex nodded and remained quiet for the next few minutes of the journey, not feeling the need to spark unnecessary conversation now that they had decided.

Sky grinned at the suggestion of doubling up, "Good idea Ell!" She turned to the back to say, before looking to the front to see how close they were to the corner shop. It wasn't long before they arrived, with Xander quickly unbuckling his seatbelt.

"Hope Lindsey likes vodka." He commented as though he was poking fun at the girl's drink choice, before opening the door and stepping out of the car. "We can sort out the money later." He said, figuring it'd be easier once they were all together and they could split it evenly.

He closed the car door and headed confidently into the store, running a hand through his hair so he didn't look too scruffy. In a rather suave manner, Alex went in and picked up a pack of his usual gum then went to the counter and looking at the shopkeeper behind it.

"Two bottles of your cheapest vodka." He said, lacking manners. But he'd never used the word please when buying alcohol, he thought it made him sound like he was begging for it, and Alex wouldn't beg for anything. As the rather tired-looking man turned around and reached up to his left to get two bottles, Alex pulled out his wallet as he waited and flicked through the paper bills in there, pulling out roughly how much the two bottles and his pack of gum would cost. He loosely dropped the money onto the counter and gave the man a toothy smile, picking up the bottles by their necks with one hand and shoving his wallet into his back pocket with the other, then picking up the packet of gum. He wasn't too bothered about the few dollars change if it meant he could get out of there quicker.

"Better more than less." Ellie commented with a mischievous grin, before the car sort of fell silent which she didn't mind. Now that the car was stopped, she felt a lot safer sipping her beer. She didn't do it while the car was in movement in fear of spilling it whenever Joshua would brake or turn. There wasn't any conversation in the car for the time that Xander was gone. Ellie didn't initiate any, and it was obvious that Joshua didn't have the intention to initiate anything either.

In fact, Josh was busier with other things.

"Pass me my bag?" Josh broke the silence, directing his words to Ellie. She found it at her feet, and picked it up to pass it to him. From inside the backpack he pulled out a smaller black bag, and passed the backpack back to Ellie since he didn't need it anymore. He figured that he might as well roll while he waited for Xander, that way he could smoke as soon as they reached Lindsey's and he wouldn't be missing out on any of the fun.

From within the black bag, he pulled out a grinder and a little ziploc bag with the devils lettuce. He adjusted his position in his seat and rested the grinder atop his thigh, balancing it perfectly with ease. He didn't have loose tobacco, so he pulled out a cigarette from the pack of cigarettes he had on hand and split it in half. He let the dry contents of the cigarette fall into the grinder, along with a few chunks of weed, before placing the top on the grinder and grinding its contents.

He went through the rest of his rolling process, executing the entire process by balancing everything on his two thighs. He was quiet as he did so, only slightly bopping his head along to the Nirvana music playing in the background. His lips quietly whispered the lyrics under his breath, eyebrows knitted in focus as he held the rolling paper filled with tobacco and weed between his fingertips. The man's fingers handled the paper with such grace that was a complete contrast to the rough appearance of his big hands. He slowly ran his tongue along the sticky bit of the paper, his eyes flickering to the rearview mirror before momentarily stopping to gaze at Skylar.

Joshua eventually realised it was an inappropriate moment for him to be looking at her, so he casually faced the front again and pulled his face away from the paper, completing the rolling process and being left with a perfectly rolled joint. He twisted the end before placing the cancer stick between his pretty plump lips, moving his elbow so it was resting on the car door and placing the side of his his head atop the palm of his hand, waiting for Xander's return.

After Alex exited the car, Sky got lost in her own world of just thinking and letting the gentle music soothe her thoughts. It wasnโ€™t anything in particular she was thinking about, in fact she was enjoying the moments of peace within the midsts of excitement for the evening.

That was until Josh spoke, when Sky emerged from her daydream and turned to see Ellie passing a black bag over to Josh. She wondered for a moment what was inside but considering the circumstances she guessed, and when he pulled out several different things it wouldnโ€™t take a genius to piece together what he was doing. She crossed her left leg over her right, resting her elbow close to the passenger window. Her eyes scanned over him before landing on his hands, she watched each little movement and in turn saw the veins and bones under his skin move delicately. The girl didnโ€™t dare look away for a moment, it was intriguing to watch him.

Since the car was so quiet she could hear the lyrics Josh was whispering, so her eyes moved up and she watched his face, as a result feeling her own face relax and a smile rest upon it. She mustโ€™ve looked as though she was admiring him, which she was, but if he caught her it wouldโ€™ve been slightly awkward- for her, anyway. That didnโ€™t deter her though, and it was only when his eyes met hers that she looked away, She tried not to make it too obvious that she was staring, but hell was it painful to look away. The action he was making as his gaze rested upon hers was what she could only describe as magical. Instantly butterflies crowded in her stomach, as if theyโ€™d suddenly been awaken by a splash of cold water. Her head had turned to look out of her window now, hoping the little exchange of glances hadnโ€™t been odd.

Soon enough Alex had returned, yanking open his door and sitting down, he handed the bottles to Ellie so she could put them somewhere whilst he put on his seatbelt. In the meantime, Skyโ€™s attention had turned away from the unimpressive scenery outside and towards Josh, as she looked at the joint that rested perfectly between his lips. Her gaze had to be torn away as if she was completely mesmerised.

โ€œMission success.โ€ Alex announced with a self-righteous smirk as he shoved the metal part of his seatbelt into the corresponding buckle.

Josh wasn't an idiot; he could tell Skylar was already looking at him by the time he had glanced over at her. Given how quickly she had looked away, he could only assume that it wasn't for a short period of time, either, but he didn't read into it too much. He was the only person in the car actually doing something, so perhaps she was just curious about what it was like to roll.

Regardless, he was looking forward again now, staring off into the liquor shop. The windows had a weird white tint which meant he couldn't see into the shop so he had no idea what point Xander was at. The lights outside the shop were flickering, the lights bouncing off of his skin and reflecting into his eyes whenever they shone. The angle of the lighting illuminated the high points of his face, and obscured the hollows of his cheeks and the area underneath the sharp line separating his neck and jaw. The dull, bright light brought out the bags under his eyes, the bags that remained despite his countless hours of sleep at night and naps in the evening. He always looked tired by default.

The peaceful atmosphere was disrupted by the car door opening, and Joshua didn't bother moving as he already knew who was entering the car. He lowered the hand brake once Xander was settled in and emerged back into the main street with his car. As he drove, at some point he removed the joint from his lips and instead held it between his two fingers, both hands gripping the leather steering wheel. The last thing he needed was the wrong person peering into the car and seeing him with a joint between his lips.

"Great, now we drink." Ellie stated as she adjusted the bottles so they sat comfortably between herself and Xander, not having enough space in her bag to keep them there. Lindsey typically had mixers, so she didn't have to worry about drinking straight nail-polish-remover-tasting vodka if she didn't want to. The ride toward Lindsey's was rather short, and within less than five minutes, the blue Ford Cortina was parked in her driveway.

For the remainder of the journey Sky stared down at the road in front of the car, wanting to avoid appearing creepy and staring at Josh again.

Alex was the first one to get out of the car once it was parked, picking up his pack of beer and one of the bottles of vodka, he gave a quick glance to Ellie to ensure she was alright getting the other one since she was closer to it than Skylar was.

Beyond excited, Sky rushed to Lindseyโ€™s door and knocked a few times, stepping back slightly as the porch light turned on and lit up the ground a soft yellow, a welcomed contrast to the dark of the night.

Alex pushed the car door closed with the side of his body, his hands too full to close it properly. He strolled up to the front door, standing a little bit behind the rest of them as they waited for the host to welcome them all inside.

Before long, Lindseyโ€™s face with a grin plastered on it appeared in the doorway after the door swung open. โ€œGuys! Finally! Come in.โ€ She ushered, gesturing for the group to come inside. โ€œIs everyone here?โ€ She asked, her eyes more focused on what alcohol they had rather than who was there.

Skylar nodded, โ€œMhm, and we have vodka!โ€ She chimed as she got into the hallway, slipping off her shoes as it was only polite to do so.

Ellie gave Alex a nod as she grabbed the other bottle of vodka. She opened the car door and slipped out of the vehicle before grabbing her bag, since she couldn't open the door with her hands full. She slung it over her shoulder and grabbed her empty beer can before shutting the car door with her body like Xander and following the group toward the front door, shuddering for a moment as she felt the chilly air nip at her exposed thighs. She stood there frozen, praying for Lindsey to open up the door faster and let them into the warmth of her house.

"Heey." Ellie greeted the girl with a grin. Lindsey pulled her in for a quick hug, which Ellie couldn't return given her lack of available arms. Lindsey didn't bother offering the boys a hug, simply giving them a quick wave and moving aside so everyone could step past her and into the house.

"Oh perfect! I have coke and shot glasses in the kitchen." Lindsey told them. Josh had followed the group onto the front porch, except he was only carrying his backpack which he had grabbed after everyone got out of the back seats, and of course the joint. It was a pretty small joint, almost the size of a cigarette, merely because he was smoking it alone and he didn't want to spend too much time on it.

"I'm gonna smoke while you guys prepare or whatever." Josh announced to the group, not stepping into the house just yet.

Skylar gave Josh a nod when he told them heโ€™d be staying outside to smoke whilst they prepared the drinks. She followed Lindsey into the kitchen with a cheeky grin on her face.

โ€œShots, anyone?โ€ The girl suggested, though she knew a shot of vodka would be difficult for her to do. But she was very much looking forward to being drunk and wanted to get it started.

Alex trailed behind and set the other bottle of vodka on the counter with a thud, before opening the fridge and setting his beers inside. He failed to ask Lindsey but he was growing impatient and didnโ€™t want to snap at her by accident and put a downer on the evening.

โ€œYes. Shots, yes.โ€ The man said, twisting open one of the bottles with ease and quickly pouring himself a very full shot glass of Vodka. He rose it to his lips and tilted his head back slightly as the potent liquid stung his throat, revealing his strong jawline and prominent Adamโ€™s apple. He tossed the shot glass to the side and waited a moment before speaking as he glanced at the girls,

โ€œOh, uhโ€ฆCheers I guess.โ€ He chuckled then waited to see what the girls were going to do. Sky waited to see if Ellie and Lindsey wanted to do a shot or two, not wanting to get too drunk faster than them.

Josh pulled the grey BIC lighter out of the pocket of his jeans and lit the end of the joint, inhaling until it was properly started. He was leaning against the outside wall of the house, one foot bent up and resting against it. It was chilly outside, but no way was he going in until the joint was done. He didn't take his time with it though, not wanting to miss out on too much inside the house, but not particularly feeling the need to rush himself.

Ellie hummed in response at the prospect of shots, following the group into the kitchen. Lindsey proceeded to reach into a cupboard and pull out a big bag of nacho chips, before opening the fridge after Xander to pull out the fresh guac and salsa she had purchased. She set everything up on the table, and let out an excited 'ooo' as shots were offered.

"Duh." She told them. Who on earth would refuse shots? Lindsey proceeded to pour herself one, as did Ellie. She filled the shot glass up until the liquid reached the brim and was threatening to spill over. She hadn't eaten in a few hours, so she had to make sure to take it easy or she'd get way too drunk. As she lifted up the shot and was prepared to say cheers, Xander was already downing his shot.

"Cheers." She said afterwards, holding up her shot before downing it. The taste hit her throat hard, but she did her best to not pull a face. She wasn't about to start mixing her vodka with coke just yet, since she wanted to get past the stage of being completely sober as fast as possible.

"How much did you pay?" Ellie then asked Xander, figuring they should get that part over with now since she assumed they'd be too drunk for maths later.

Skylar lifted up her freshly poured shot and celebrated a "Cheers" straight after Ellie. She raised her glass up and quickly swallowed the contents, visibly grimacing at the powerful burn as she felt it travel down her throat.

"Jesus..." She spoke, laughing afterwards at her struggle. She was debating on whether or not to pour another, as she saw Alex had poured another for himself. She was unsure if he was waiting for them or not, maybe he didn't want to seem like he was desperate to get drunk. Either way, Skylar had to pace herself so she didn't become too drunk before the others.

Alex left his shot on the counter as Ellie asked him a question, he deducted the price of the gum as that was only fair- he wasn't the most kind hearted of people but he wasn't about to make 3 people split the price of his pack of gum.

"Like $30." He shrugged, as though he was trying to hint that he wasn't a stickler for money. Which was true, he was rather relaxed when it came to money which was a surprise because most people expected him to be frugal and strict around being paid back. He didn't think 30 dollars was too bad, in all honesty he didn't check if it was the cheapest vodka that the man gave to him but he wasn't about to start arguing even if it wasn't, it wasn't worth it when he seemed rather content to be serving him. Xander thought for a second, his eyes gazing at the ceiling and his chin lifting a little as he worked out how much they'd all owe. "$7.50 each." He added.

With a nod, Sky pulled out her purse from her pocket and handed over a total of $7.50, closing it up and setting it down on the counter. Whilst she was at it, she pulled her keys from her pocket and put them atop the purse, so her things would all be together and drunk Skylar wouldn't misplace them.

Ellie laughed a little at the face Sky pulled. Lindsey downed her shot after them with an enthusiastic 'woo', squinting her eyes as she processed the flavour of the alcohol. Lindsey was actually pretty heavy-weight, so she was relieved to know the group had two bottles of vodka as opposed to one. Ellie, on the other hand, wasn't a heavy weight. She wouldn't necessarily call herself a light-weight, but it didn't take a lot of drinking to get her tipsy. She liked that though, since it meant she had to endure less shots. Like Xander, she went on to pour herself another shot, and told herself she wouldn't do another one after that for at least a little.

Before taking the shot, Ellie proceeded to take her wallet out of her bag and scrape up exactly 7.50 dollars for Xander. She placed it in front of him on the counter, before picking up her shot and downing it. Lindsey didn't have exactly 7.50, so she placed a 10 dollar bill in front of Xander atop Ellie's money and left it at that. She wasn't about to be stingy over 2.50.

"We should play a drinking game when Josh is back." Lindsey suggested.

"Josh isn't drinking though." Ellie mentioned, earning a hum of thought from Lindsey.

"Okay then like.. truth or dare or something?" Lindsey shrugged, figuring that a game would entertain them.

If it was anyone else, Xander most likely would've snuck some change back into the pocket of anyone who overpaid, but as it was Lindsey he didn't bother. Even her house was evident enough that she was more well off than he was, and he knew she wouldn't hold it against him for not giving her 2.50 change.

He downed his other shot quickly, producing almost no reaction before nodding at the girls as a makeshift thank you. He stared at the wall, half listening to the conversation and half waiting for his two shots to show an effect on him.

When he heard 'truth or dare', his eyes shot over to Lindsey with a cheeky grin. "Truth or dare is cool." He replied nonchalantly, a contrast to what his face was showing. He loved truth or dare, he'd end up doing something silly and getting to watch other people embarrass themselves. It was a win win, probably the only type of game he'd partake in.

"Better than Monopoly." He added.

Skylar nodded in agreement with Alex, she preferred that considering it would've been a shame to leave Josh out. Though she was certain that drunk Sky would get him involved in everything they'd be doing anyway.

She decided it was probably best that she didn't do another straight shot of vodka, so poured herself a double vodka coke instead so she could sip on that. She brought the glass to her lips and sipped it with a smile, an audible "Mmm." escaping her mouth, relieved not to be tasting astringent-flavoured liquid anymore.

"We should put some music on!" She suggested happily.

Honestly the second shot got to Ellie a little more, taste-wise. Perhaps it was the building up of the horrid flavour in her mouth, but this time she grimaced a little bit. She just wished vodka tasted like water. But then again, that would probably be sort of dangerous.

"Gross." She murmured to herself, before deciding to do the same thing as Sky and poured herself a mix of vodka and coke into a regular glass. Before sipping on it, she reached over to grab a nacho and dipped it in the guacamole to sort of wash away the flavour of vodka on her tongue. It certainly helped, as did drinking from her vodka and coke in the glass.

"I'm down." Ellie agreed, not particularly minding what game they'd play. Just as Sky suggested playing music, Josh returned to the room. He reeked of weed, though that wasn't something that took anyone by surprise. His eyes weren't quite red just yet, he knew that would develop later, but he definitely felt the high since he had taken many puffs in a short period of time. Now Ellie was sort of jealous of him, since he was the first person in the room to not be sober.

Lindsey anticipated someone wanting to listen to music, so she momentarily left the room to grab the speaker from the living room before placing it on one of the kitchen counters, away from the drinks in case someone got clumsy and made a mess. She inserted a CD with a mix of music into the stereo, and the first song that played was 'Heart-Shaped Box' by Nirvana. She adjusted the volume so it was at a perfect balance between loud but quiet enough for them to hear one another.

"You look sober." Lindsey sarcastically remarked as Joshua leaned onto the counter and reached for a nacho, dipping it in the salsa before munching on it slowly, appreciating the flavours on his tongue. He only hummed in response, too lost in his own world of flavour and deliciousness to come up with a witty response.

"Josh. Truth or dare someone." Ellie told him.

"Uhm... Lindsey, truth or dare."

Skylar felt a rush of happiness when she saw Josh come into the room, eyes lighting up a little. She giggled at how completely not-sober he was, seeing him slowly munch on a nacho made her smile and wish she was drunk. In an attempt to get drunk, she took a big gulp of her drunk and was again thankful it wasn't pure vodka. She moved closer to Josh and picked up a couple of nachos in her hand, setting her drink on the side as she began to eat them, watching her friends as they spoke.

Lindsey looked up as if she was reaching out to think of an answer, before coming to a quick decision and returning her eyes to Josh.

"Truth." She told him, wanting to start the game off slightly easier. She had no idea what he'd come up with, but she guessed that his dare would be worse than his truth and she didn't want to end up embarrassing herself when she was still mainly sober. Whilst she waited to hear what he came up with, she poured herself a rather strong mix of vodka and coke, finding a straw from one of the cupboards and throwing it in the glass.

Alex was evidently excited, jogging over to the fridge and looking at his beers that were probably no colder now than they were ten minutes ago. But he wanted to finish them. Whilst the idea of beer and vodka mixing in his stomach was unpleasant, he didn't really care all that much. He wasn't going to let himself forget about the beers and leave them. Took effort to steal them from his dad! He broke one off from the plastic holder and opened it quickly, taking more than a big sip from the opening.

Josh was incredibly relaxed. Not to the point where he wanted to pass out on the couch or be anti-social, but just the right amount where he was under the influence enough to fit in with the group. Especially once they'd get drunk later. He glanced over at Sky by him, acknowledging she was there before reaching over for the nachos in the bowl that Lindsey had put out for them. He would grab one at a time and alternate between dipping in the guac or salsa. He sort of preferred to smooth texture of the guac, but the pungent taste of the salsa was nice too.

As Lindsey gave her answer, Josh stood there and munched, thinking of what the hell to ask her. He forgot how difficult it was to come up with reasonable truth or dare questions. Ellie, too, began to come up with a list of potential truth or dare questions as she sipped on her drink, anticipating Joshua's prompt for Lindsey.

"What's your guilty pleasure?" He asked her, keeping it quite tame and simple. For now. He knew this game was bound to take an extreme turn later in the night. Lindsey blinked for a moment, unsure of what to say.

"Uhm.." She started. "I love cheesy romance movies."

"Nah that's no fun, tell us something juicier." Josh waved her off with a 'tsk' leaving his lips, reaching over for another nacho.

Sky giggled at Lindsey's response, it was probably the most tame and typical response to that question you could give.

Lindsey let out a huff, rolling her eyes playfully at the fact that her answer wasn't good enough.

"Well...I suppose...sometimes I like filming pretend music videos with my dads camcorder." She said, letting out an awkward giggle. Whilst that wasn't something unexpected or for Lindsey, or even that juicy in general, she'd rather not her friends imagine her acting out a music video in her bedroom. The camcorder in question was in a drawer somewhere, much to Lindsey's relief, not wanting one of them to see it and try to find evidence of her guilty pleasure.

Alex rolled his eyes at that, "Still not exciting." He teased, wishing it would've been something shocking or naughty- just something that would entertain him. "Who's next!?" He questioned, wanting to spur everyone on a little and get the game going a little more. He took another swig of his beer, looking around at everyone. He was beginning to get a little tipsy; two shots of vodka and a beer and a half down he was kind of glad he was feeling something.

Ellie was in a little bit of disbelief upon hearing Lindsey's confession, and she couldn't help the laugh that left her. Now that was juicy. At the same time she thought it was sort of cute though. Josh snickered quietly, feeling proud of having gotten a proper confession out of the girl.

"Alright fair enough." He responded with one last laugh.

"Sky, I dare you to down your drink with me." Ellie innocently told the girl. She felt a little annoyed that she was still sober; she wanted to be real tipsy, because she missed the feeling. It had only been a week or so since she last got drunk, but that still felt like a while for a high schooler. She held up her glass, as though prepared for a quick 'cheers' if she was going to accept.

"You can say no." Ellie reminded her, not wanting to force her to down the entire drink at once if she actually couldn't hold it down. She wasn't going to embarrass Sky like that in front of everyone.

"I can say no, but I wouldn't dare." Sky grinned, lifting her glass and gently tapping it against Ellie's to hear a 'clink!'. The girl was beyond happy to down her drink with Ellie, she was still more sober than not and thought the two of them could do with catching up to the boys who were both somewhat intoxicated.

Sharing a quick smile with her close friend, she brought the glass to her lips and made her best (and successful) effort to down her drink. Once she had, she grimaced slightly with the liquid at the bottom of the glass tasting stronger of vodka than the rest. She set her glass down with a small laugh and already began pouring herself another, once she did she offered the same to Ellie. "Want another?" She asked her with a big, mischievous grin.

Alex was entertained watching the two girls down their drinks, happy everyone was beginning to get drunk. He set his beer can down momentarily to clap for them both and picked it back up as he turned to look at Ellie.

"Ell, truth or dare?" He asked her. He chose Ellie since Sky had just been dared, and Lindsey seemed as though she was still recovering from her truth. She was frequently sipping her drink, probably so she could get onto the same level as the girls that'd downed their drinks. He would've felt odd asking Josh- they'd still never had a conversation just between the two of them and so asking him may have been a little odd whilst he wasn't completely drunk.
