Immediately Jane went from full tomboy fury to calm. Sort of like when they had all first met the Colonel and she didn't like him all too much because he fired them. Or something like that. Just when he was in Jane's good side he switched to her shit list again. Even if there is a legit crime here this is still bullcrap! Deep breaths, deep breaths... No use blowing a gasket like that.
Calvin normally would laugh but he was grinding his teeth. No warrant at all? Seriously this goes against so many regulations!

The weird code signal on screen only made them scratch their heads. How this related was just outside of their jurisdiction. The room cleared out. In ways, Calvin wanted to be one of the people who left. It's getting hot in here...but not because of a fire. The tension was so real. Paired with Jane's rising anger from seeing those guys mistreat and be aggressive with old man Wilson ticking her off the temperature was sky rocketing. Both of them paid attention to Smith as he presented his findings. A signal that searches in space, a signal from the Armada that lead them here, someone on Earth basically brought the apocalypse to the planet with one locating signal. How does this...oh no. Not good, really not good. Like the Empress marrying the Captain not good. Jane and Calvin both just stared at Dr. Wilson slowly with eyes like daggers and owls. "Dr. Wilson...you...you brought them here?" Jane asked. She knew or at least hoped he didn't intentionally bring the Armada to Earth. But still...he did this? He brought them here?!? Calvin just stared blindly and blinked.
"Wilson didn't mean to bring them here. He was just exploring like people used to...you can't arrest him for that!" Calvin tried to speak up for him but he was already being hauled out like cattle. Minds raced and thoughts crashed into mental walls. Not pretty.

As the others left the Rangers in the room it got quiet and weird. Nobody knew whether to be in shock, angry, sad, confused, all of the above or something else. How can the man they trust so much be so secretive? Jane punched the nearest console with her fist as hard as she could. She wished she was in the back of the auto shop where Drew worked because she needed a punching bag. Slamming her fists on something was therapeutic. "This is fucking god damn bull shit," she swore. She was mad. Mad he kept this from them. "It is his fault we're even fighting this war to begin with? Even if it was an accident he should have told us god damn it!" Jane cussed again and punched another damn console. Her knuckles burned.
"That...that isn't even treason is it? He can't be deemed guilty of treason of treason if there was never an invading force to begin with," Calvin tried to reason. Less on the mad side like Jane and maybe Drew seemed to be. But more on the sad and defensive side like Olivia. "A man can't just defend his planet to make up for this mistake and be deemed a criminal," he said. "Shut it!" Jane yelled at him. She didn't want to hear it. Calvin made a glare at her and replied with, "It's Wilson for Christ's sake!" Really...really..

Tidal let himself be pulled back and took a deep breath in order to calm himself down. He huffed. Was the Colonel really threatening to have them arrested as well? On what grounds? Not wanting to believe their mentor and trusted ally had committed treason? And the man didn't even have a warrant. Surely that was actually needed, wasn't it? Whatever had happened, the way these men were treating Dr Wilson was unacceptable!
Lucas just shook his head again, unable to believe this was really happening. Wilson couldn't have committed treason. It just... It seemed so impossible. But when Dr Wilson confessed... if left the both of them baffled. What? How...?

The string of code being shown on the screen made no sense at all to the both of them. Heck, judging the looks in their faces even the Captain and Olivia couldn't make sense of it. And that said something! Was there any chance the two of them could clear our if the room with all the other people leaving? No? Of course not. Although neither wanted to hear about Wilson allegedly committing treason, they did want to hear the explanation behind. Maybe there was some kind of mistake here?

And what an explanation it was. Lucas' and Tidals jaws dropped. Wilson was responsible for the Armada finding Earth? For everything that had happened, the Wastelands, the many lives lost? And because of the signal he sent out, no other alien civilization had been able to warn them about the dangers... So if Wilson hadn't used that signal, Earth would have at least known some more years of peace... perhaps still be at peace now. And then none of this would have been necessary. Immediately Tidal was reminded of the weird alternate future where Dr Wilson was the main.villain. perhaps that future hadn't been all that off, then? As the Colonel snapped his fingers and they all left with Wilson, Lucas and Tidal were left with the others. Stunned and full of disbelief. If even the Captain had never known this, then... They handt even had the chance to say their goodbyes for now. Dr Wilson hadn't even been given the chance to explain himself. The Colonel just told them what happened and the Dr confessed. That was the end of it. A least give the man a chance toto explain himself to them all.

The silence was almost deafening. As if nobody really knew what to say. Until Drew spoke up, that is. So many opposing sentiments. This was once again a strange situation they all had been put in. Lucas put an arm around Olivia's shoulders. She was raised here in HQ and knew Wilson better than almost everyone else. So he could definitely understand this news hit her hard. He found himself rather puzzled. Yes, Dr Wilson should have told them what had happened about twenty five years ago, but Olivia was right. After everything what the Dr had done to keep the Earth safe... Surely that had to count for something! "I agree," Lucas said, siding with Calvin and Olivia. "It can't be treason if that was never the intention, right? And look at all he's been doing to correct his mistakes. If it wasn't for his inventions we wouldn't be fighting to save the planet."
"No, we wouldn't. Because there's a fair chance there was no need for it," Tidal said bitterly. "Armada might not have discovered us yet, other civilizations might have been able to warn us. And now here we are."
"Might is the keyword there. For all we know Armada would have found us, nobody could have warned us, and we'd all be dead because there was nothing to fight Armada off because Dr Wilson wouldn't have invented the things he did," Lucas retorted. He was getting a bit worked up over this. How could half the team respond like this, really? They all trusted him didn't they? Would they give up on him so easily because the Dr was a curious Peron and decided to explore the galaxy looking for life? Nobody could possibly have known what he would find. If it were a friendly civilization they'd call him a hero!

Division among the Rangers boded ill for the defense of the city. With three on the fence about Dr. Wilson and three jumping to his honor and aid things were worked up in a short amount of time. Olivia could hardly accept that fact someone so close to her was indirectly or directly responsibly for so much devastation baffled her completely. She bore no reaction on Lucas at all. Stunned still. A single mans action interacted with the fate of an entire planet; how does one tread lightly over this material? Some of the others had excellent points, too. Maybe if the signal had never made it into space the Armada would have never showed up or at least they would have showed up a little later. There is no way of knowing for sure, which renders this entire debate forming between the team useless.

"Stop it. Everyone, please!" Drew blurted. While it wasn't too hectic the commotion among the group was already getting less than manageable for him and he assumed everybody else. Olivia couldn't take the infighting Jane and Calvin sort of had, nor the disagreement of Tidal and Lucas. Conflict was not uncommon here but among this group it was luckily rare.
"All of you. Look, Wilson confessed to alerting the Emperor of where Earth was. The son of a bitch is the reason or at least a key factor in why Earth is in ruin. He also brought ways to help save it, as said and thought a lot in the past few minutes," he said in order to restate some stuff. Though it may not have needed repeating since it was literally put on the table more than few seconds ago.

Olivia had been fueled up. "Exactly. We do not know to put him fully at fault or not. Dr. Wilson has went above and beyond to help the world, you can not simply just let one action damn him for life. After all, I thought redemption mattered to some of us?" She said, directing the last bit to Tidal.
Drew clapped back. "We aren't saying what he is doing now isn't worthy of respect. Just he could have told us about this. How do you forget to mention you brought war to your entire planet?" He asked. "Kind of a bid damn deal," he said getting irritated. Olivia had no response for that. Other than a furrowed brow. Moments later after it had simmered down the Captain re-entered the room. Both of them gave him full attention and got quiet. Clearly he had some bad news with him to share. Somebody call for a violinist. And a stress reliever if one happens to be handy.

"Dr. Wilson has been taken into custody. I am afraid that the Colonel is taking him to the prison in the lower part of the city. We are to continue with operations as usual. Understood?"
Drew shook his head. "No, not understood. Our top scientist just confessed to the biggest dump on humanity. We can't just continue on normally now, we have to do something about him!" He meant nothing bad by doing something about him. More like they needed to help him or find a way to ease the perimeters of the punishment. The Captain sighed.
"I know you're all upset and confused, as am I, however we can not let this falter our efforts against the enemy. Every day they get stronger and throw more plots against us. I will put Wilson's team in charge of his lab until further notice," officially stated the Captain. So business really was to on as normal then. No mention of this, no more talking about it. Just Wilson going to prison until they know what to do with him? There would be a trial, a court sentence? Something to better grasp the situation in a lawful manner. Pissed off Rangers weren't the solution right now. Yet they each had every right to be angry and confused. It was understood completely. If anyone had a question for the Captain they may ask such things now before they go on.

Olivia merely shuffled to her work station and sighed. Vigorously typing at the console. Drew shook his head, turning his back to everyone after the falling out and orders to remain normal. Neither of them had anything to say.

They weren't so divided all that often, were they? The rangers really tended to agree with one another most of the time. But in this case... not so much. On the one hand Lucas felt relieved this didn't happen a lot, but on the other hand it meant conflicts had a chance of getting out of hand a bit more. Especially when it involved apparent treason and learning that someone they knew and trusted was, albeit indirectly, responsible for bringing the Armada to Earth. How could anyone take this lightly, no matter on what side of the conflict they were here? He was glad Drew called for all of them to stop. People shouting in a room, lots of noises.... not too pleasant. Granted, he was one of the people getting worked up here over a situation they couldn't do an awful lot about. Everyone just seemed to be shocked about the news, and everyone responded to it differently. Still... unless he was misunderstanding, Lucas didn't quite appreciate the way Drew referred to Dr. Wilson as. Might be the Emperor too... He'd just stay quiet. Tidal ,however, was still rather on the fence. He couldn't help but still think that if it weren't for Dr Wilson, the Earth would be safer. Probably.

Tidal was taken aback by Olivia's words on redemption. Yes, he had been fighting alongside the Rangers to redeem himself for his crimes when he was an Armada puppet. Yes, he understood better than anyone how someone could feel terrible about deeds of the past and do whatever possible to make up for it.... But still... he wasn't the one that brought Armada here in the first place. It was pretty damn hard to pick sides in this case. Both made fair points, and this didn't exactly look like it would settle itself anytime soon.

"And what if he had told us?" Lucas asked. "Would anyone have trusted him then? Believed in his capabilities to help defending this world?" He shook his head. "If he had told anyone sooner and he'd be arrested before he could invent the Ranger technology... where would the world be then?" Lucas himself could think of quite a many things he wouldn't just tell anyone. There's always that voice in the back of your mind telling you to keep quiet. That voice that fears to be judged. Accidentally bringing the Armada to Earth definitely fell in the category of "things better off left unsaid". It was a shame it had somehow been found out... but they ouldn't just forget everything Dr. Wilson had done to make up for it all, couldn't they?
"Well, I suppose you're the expert here in not saying things," Tidal said. Really... That ginger guy was secretive as could be at times. Heck, after finding out this about Wilson, who knew what might Lucas be hiding? Lucas glared back at him. There really was no need to get personal here! Even if Tidal had a point... Lucas took a deep breath and swallowed some words he'd probably regret if he said them out loud.

Though the worst simmered down, the tension still seemed to remain. Perhaps it was due to the Captain walking back in, or the way how he just looked like he was about to deliver some very bad news. Lucas and Tidal just mentally prepared for the worst. Both sided with Drew. How could they just go on as usual after this? There had to be something they could do! There had to be more behind this all than they knew of! But no matter how much they disliked it, this was another something they just couldn't seem to do anything about, other than waiting for whatever happened to Dr. Wilson now. How would this be handled if the Colonel didn't see the need for a warrant earlier? If anything secretive happened again, something that felt unjust because it was handled in ways above and beyond the law... Then they'd both be pissed off.

"So... what's going to happen now?" Lucas asked. "How will this all be handled?" After seeing how the Colonel arrested Wilson before, he somehow didn't have very high hopes on a fair trial. He might not like the answer he'd get... but he just wanted to know. Tidal glanced at him, then at the Captain, wondering the same but keeping quiet. No need to ask the same question twice in a row.

Arguments really bring out the best in people don't they? They let people vent frustrations, show true colors and totally divide a group when they need to be together in everything. The split was uncanny between them all. Half of them seemed to feel for Wilson and the others seemed to just totally rethink their opinions of the man regardless of all past experiences. The military is a strange place to serve in with several twists and turns though treason on this level is not to be expected. But is it treason if the act took place before there was even a war to commit said crimes in? Of course that doesn't make up for bringing war in the first place. Such a sensitive topic really put everyone at each others throats. Fighting each other was not fun.

"Hey, lay off of him," Calvin defended Lucas when Tidal came after him about not saying things. "If he has something he doesn't need to say then he doesn't need to say it. Don't make this about him, it's about our friend stabbing us in the back over two decades ago! But he didn't because there wasn't even a problem. Shit all of this makes me want a drink," he said and rubbed his hands over his face, stroking the coarse etchings of facial hair on his skin. "Do not know why you all can not see why he isn't in the wrong," he said mostly to Drew.
Jane scoffed. "Yeah solve your problems with a drink, that is what you do best after all when you aren't busy playing boy scout," she said to him. Calvin huffed at her. "Better than being known for having one of the most ridiculous triggers known to man and being the most immature person in the room," he replied.
"Oh yeah make it about me when we're all supposed to be pissed at the son of a bitch who brought us all to war in the first place. The man who is responsible for every soldier you ever had to bury, think about that? How many people died because of him?" She yelled.
"But how many were saved???" Calvin and Jane were getting so heated by the time the Captain walked in. Mentally Jane high fived Olivia for the burn to Tidal. Looks like Drew calling for them all to shut up didn't work. All of them fighting like grade school kids.

On word that a trial would be on the way and it would be business as usual brought them to their senses. A moment to cool off from the bitter confusion sweeping their minds. "Like it will be so easy to just go on with our jobs now?" Jane spoke on behalf of all. Finally everyone agreed on something through the fighting. No way they can go back to normal now. Wilson's odds didn't sound great either so that added a level of tension to the mix. Why is it the times they interact with the Colonel they just end up with headaches? Some sort of nod to general chains of command? Calvin looked at the Captain. "I think a better question than what we're thinking is when is the trial? I do not have a lot of officer training but I will make damned sure to attend that trial," he said.

Jane rolled her eyes. Boy scout in action yet again. She knew someone on the team would want to go to the trial but she doubted she would go. Not that she hates Wilson all of a sudden but she just doesn't know how to feel currently.

"Dr. Wilson's trial date is to be determined. What we do now is what we always do. Protect and serve our city from the Emperor," said the Captain diplomatically. Having his six defenders at such odds with one another over a mutual subject troubled him. Supposed to be such a tight team and yet they had been thrown through a loop with this news. It made sense why but he did not like it still. Courts took forever to arrange something anyhow, so it would likely be a while before they had heard anything. How this would even go down confused the ever-living sense out of him. Those would wished to attend were welcome even if they had not much to offer. Their friend needs help.

Olivia seemed to be phasing out of the conversation. She didn't look too bad but she was intensely focused on her work station ignoring most words uttered in the room. Juries did not cross her mind at any given moment. She still processed it, taking longer than normal. She just hated this being true. "Protect and serve the Earth from what he brought here, you mean..." she said softly, catching the end orders. Her father sighed.
"I know. It is hard to accept. But no matter what any of you think, we can not change the past. We can only strive to better the world and look past the problems our allies give us. We only have each other in this fight, best to not shake the tides," he said as influential as possible. The Captain tried to make his words clear. Whether or not anyone listened was up for grabs. Olivia just nodded in response. "Of course, father. Troubling news but we will continue as normal," she said. Drew shrugged.
Drew was just angry at Wilson for not telling them. But he also understood, sort of. The Captain is right, though, no point in bitching about it now. They have to protect the people. Their families, friends, citizens, everybody.

"So, business as usual, huh? Should we just patrol or what?" Drew asked the others looking for input.

In the cruiser Wilson had been loaded into, Smith sat in the back seat with him as the two in front drove to the prison. "I must say, Garrett, I knew there was a quirk about you. Brilliance in your mind yet so much scattering material, as well," the Colonel told him. Wilson only kept quiet. He had no words for himself.
---
Desomax wielded both of his blades and slid them onto his back, arm gauntlets charged and loaded. Copper color on his body glistened under the lights on the ship as he looked to his masters. Splica gazed into her husbands eyes...oops. His eye. Singular. "Well, dear husband? Is the new soldier ready for your newest urge for bloodshed?" she asked. Urthemial snickered and snarled like a wild animal. No needless plot with some silly goal in mind. The only true tactic to win is violence employment. Ruling of every other planet in the galaxy had been acquired through sheer devastation and havoc on civilizations under the heel of the Rexian Armada. The planet of Rexia is the homeland built on power.
"Hmph. Desomax seems ready for combat, alright," said the Emperor. He brought up a visual on the city of Inezia. He discovered that the Colonel was in town. And with him was none other than Dr. Wilson himself. "The head of Earth and the lab rat of the Rangers together? Perfect. Desomax, assassinate them," he ordered. The robot bowed, not speaking for its monotone voice meant he would only speak when appropriate. "Yes, my lord," replied the robot.

"Excellent," spoke the lady Splica. So formal. As Empress she had a right to be so! She carefully eyed the visual, more so than her husband. Wilson and Smith. Two key figures in the fight against them. Perfect that they die together! Desomax left with a squad of his own for the dome to assassinate the men with simple blows.

Courts weren't the most inviting places to gather. Always a serious tone and never a dull moment. Well there are several dull moments, but only due to the fact that court and law is so...snooze material. The amount of trials Calvin was part of in his service was insane. Jane had only ever attended one hearing for the corrupt officer way back when. To see their own ally on the stand with a lawyer defending him? The legal system suddenly made things uncomfortable. "I will try my best to go. We have to help him, don't we?" Calvin asked everybody. He couldn't be the only one. Wilson made a mistake years ago and never came to light about it. But he isn't a bad man! He can't be. Not after all of the good he has done for them.
Jane let out a troubled breath and crossed her arms. "Maybe I will go, maybe I won't. But the boss man's right. Can't just sit around and complain, I guess. Just it won't be easy to be normal knowing what we do now." Simply stated.

"I'm down for patrolling. I want to blow off a little steam anyway, I don't think I could stand being in HQ. Hard to not think about it, ya know?" Jane replied. So close to the lab and the place she got to know Wilson in made if hard to not think about it. After the stress of that fire earlier coupled with this she just wanted to breath and hit something. Calvin nodded, also thinking a patrol would be good. Business as usual it seemed. "Even if Wilson made this mess, we can clean it up. So far we have, right? And we're winning," he said to try and keep things on the up and up. Calvin just hated morale among soldiers to drop. Even if they weren't all really soldiers.
---
A plot to assassinate someone? Now that is different from past attempts and dealing with the Earthlings! Military strategy and brutality were effective elsewhere but Earth proved it would need a much bigger and bolder plan. Volmour nodded along as his masters pointed out the professor friend of the Rangers out and about with their head of global command. "My lord, my lady, I formally beg your permission to assist Desomax," he said after the robot had left with his squad. "It has been a while since I've fought and I would love the chance to be there when he slaughters those old men like animals," he knelt on one knee. Let Volmour go!

Yet to be determined... that didn't really sound too promising. As bad as the situation might be, and no matter how either of the two guys viewed it all, neither hoped Dr. Wilson would have to spend too much time in a cell alone. Whether the two would go to court once they knew a date... they couldn't really tell yet. For Lucas it had been a while since he'd been in court, but he remembered it well. Nasty, nasty memories there. He tried to shake it off, but now that this seed had been planted in his mind, he couldn't help but feel... troubled. He didn't think he'd have anything to offer in court other than just be there for Dr. Wilson. "What could we do other than just sit there, though?" Lucas said softly, lightly shaking his head. Trials were likely way worse than why he'd been there last time... Back then he'd been given a chance to speak up, but hadn't really known what to say. This time around... this time around there were so many things he could and wanted to say, but... they wouldn't be able to. For the sake of keeping their identities secret and all. And to show up in court morphed up... That seemed a bit too weird, really.
"Agreed. We can't really do anything. And with what we know now... I wouldn't even know how to keep my composure there. Plus... I still have this maybe irrational fear that the Colonel will attempt to arrest me the moment I set foot in court," Tidal crossed his arms. He really didn't like the Colonel after the way he had treated him before. And not just using him as a living dummy. Hmm... it was actually a rather similar situation this time around, wasn't it? Blamed, judged, and taken into custody over mistakes made in the past. Things they couldn't do anything about, things that just... happened... Things they regretted and tried to make up for. The more Tidal pondered on it, the more he felt like he of all people had the least right to judge Dr. Wilson so harshly.

Both nodded in reply to Drew.
"Patrolling sounds great right about now. As Jane said, being here makes it hard not to think about what happened..." Tidal said. Especially when you literally lived in HQ and saw Dr. Wilson every day and not just when you have ranger duties to attend to. "Or just hit the gym and punch a bag until the stuffing comes out." Anything to distract his mind from these matters.
"Yeah, we sure are..." Lucas smiled briefly at Calvin before eyeing Olivia at her work station. What Jane and Tidal said made a lot of sense. being in HQ, so close to the lab and everything, had to make it difficult to not think about what just happened. Maybe even more so if you've lived there your entire life and not just the past couple of months... For someone who saw Dr. Wilson more as a family member rather than a friend, ally, or colleague. Like Olivia... Lucas approached her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "What about you?" he asked. "Up for patrolling as well, or would you rather stay here?" He'd understand if she'd want to get out of this place, and he'd be the first to offer to stick by her side. on the other hand he'd also understand if she preferred to stay and just focus on her work here.

Actera had mixed feelings about the idea of the assassination, although she couldn't tell why. The Emperor's wishes were her command, and Desomax sure seemed like a fine soldier capable of successfully completing the mission, but... But what? Why did she feel so strange about this? It was just something weird at the back of her mind, something she ought to ignore. Her loyalty was to the Emperor and the Empress, and them alone. Earth was just an annoying planet, a pain in the ass, more trouble than it was worth. The humans living here were stupid and weak and pathetic. Yet still.. why did the Earth provide to be so much trouble? How was it that this small and insignificant planet fought so hard whereas hundreds upon hundreds of planets had already been conquered and/or destroyed by the Armada? What made this planet so special? She chewed on the inside of her cheek, frustrated at those questions she didn't have any answers to. She looked at the screen as well, watching the Dr. and the Colonel in the cruiser together.

That man... Doctor Garret Wilson. There was something about him. A faintly familiar thing, something she just couldn't quite pinpoint. It seemed to be figments of a conversation she had, once... A while back, it seemed....
"What's the appeal of evil anyway? You know you're evil...and evil is bad thing, Actera. You serve an emperor who takes all power for himself...what's your gain here?"
"You're taking our home, which is all anyone has in the end...a home. How can you justify what?"
"You could be so much more than his slave. You could be a hero. A noble leader. Instead, you're a lackey."
"Many died before things turned out the way they are now. We're all just pawns in a game, professor, just pawns in a game."
That last bit... those had been her words, hadn't it? And there was more, lingering just beyond her reach. Something about that ma... it almost made her question her loyalties. Almost. Yes... yes, it would be best if the old man died. Along with the leader of this pathetic planet. Did she want to be there to see it done? ... She wasn't sure, somehow. Maybe she should go. Maybe seeing the old man getting killed would put her mind at ease again. "My Lord, My Lady..." Actera bowed deeply. "Like Volmour here I would also like to ask for your permission to join Desomax."

What a mixed yet combined reaction from everybody. Knowing hat they know and putting their opinions out there for all to hear. "I only know the trial will consist of officers and the like. We are making progress in the war but saying we are winning is pure optimism," said the Captain rather dreadfully honest. Hating to sound like such a downer he gave a frown but heavily sighed. At the start of this fight they were so blind to so much. All of them. Now they all see an ugly truth. What more pretty lies await them? And just how much more insanity is on the path ahead of Earth?
Olivia zoned out so hard until Lucas touched her and invited her along. Everybody wanted to go to the city and patrol to blow off steam, get away for a while and just do something else. She did not want to do that. Working was better for her. She could focus just fine while working. Although she did foresee her fathers glare that said to her 'you really should go with them' and a lot of other annoying things parents say when kids hate admitting they are right. No matter how old, children never want to face the truth of their parents being correct on things like this. Not when its something shitty to be right about.

Against her better wishes she thought it through and exhaled. "A patrol sounds good," she said and shut her console down. Turning around she walked over to Drew with Lucas and the others. The Captain bid them a formal farewell and Drew led everybody out.
---
Tsk tsk. Figures that the two top pets of the Emperor would wish to accompany Desomax in assassinating the Earthly leaders. Every time they travel to the planet side they end up being beaten or just fleeing like cowards. Why they insisted on going was unclear yet their eagerness would not go unrewarded. "Come now, husband, let them go. Desomax needs no help surely but they will be of good use nonetheless. If there are guards, or if the meddling Rangers show up," Splica convinced Urthemial. The Emperor grumbled and nodded, tapping his fingers on the cold metallic arm of his throne.
"Fine. Volmour, Actera, go with Desomax. Catch up to him and travel to Inezia. Do not disappoint me again, my patience grows thin," he said. Just one flip of a switch and he can spark them up! Benefits of having them as his mind controlled lackeys.
He shewed his generals out promptly. Splica checked her personal console. More data for her experiment to done. She actually counted on the Rangers coming to the rescue...but now why would she want that?

A couple of blocks from where their patrol had started the cruiser parked outside of a tall building. Not the jail but a courthouse. One of the officers stepped inside for a moment to get something from there and left the driver, all guards, and the Colonel and Dr. Wilson alone outside in the vehicles. Sitting ducks.
Drew walked ahead of everybody in the group on the street. Air filters across the city made the smoke not fill it all up thankfully. Otherwise the dome would be blackened from the earlier fire. "Man this sucks. You work with someone for so long and a bomb drops. I just can't wrap my head around whether this is all his fault or not. We all keep having the same thoughts over and over, why can't we just get a break?" Drew wondered aloud and kicked a can off the the side, listening to the tin ping on the pavement.
"As much as we all hate this we have to accept it. An act of treason is the label but we know it may as well be the worlds unluckiest mistake," Olivia said. Her perspective was better than most at this point. "But please let's talk about something else. The fire from today, that was good right? We saved everybody inside of the building and managed to get out mostly unharmed," she said to get everyone thinking about something else. Drew grinned at her and gazed around at the city around them.
"Yeah, saving everyone felt good. Weird how it feels good to save people but it feels bad to have to save someone because it means there's danger...I hate danger. At least the dangerous part for everyone not ready to handle it," he said. Surely that made sense right?

Kneeling down and bowing his head, Volmour swore allegiance affirmation again to his master. Time and time again he had went to Earth and returned less than victorious but now he had another shot. If anything he could kill off a few humans and lower the planets population that was already too high for this point in the invasion. Steadfast grip on his weapons hilt he rose up and bowed once again. "Thank you, my lord, my lady," he said to the leaders. With that he rushed after Desomax and the squadron with him to Earth. The Colonel and the Rangers' own professor together made easy targets. Old men past their primes would be no match no matter how heavy their security was.

The reality of the trial and the state of the war on the Armada dampened Calvin's mood. He thought it was going well but it sucked to reassure that the war was only getting worse and optimism, while appreciated, gets them nowhere. A soldier like him should already know that! Constantly this thought ran through his mind as he and the others went on patrol in the city. Too many times had he seen people die for the cause to even feel like they were winning. How could he be so dumb? Especially posing the wonder of winning at a time like this. Felt like asking a widow for a piece of candy at her husband's funeral. "I agree. It is but it isn't Wilson's fault. He couldn't have known about the Armada so he can't be called a criminal," Calvin concurred. "Accidents happen."
He walked towards the center of the group while Jane kept to the back.

"Okay accidents do happen but there is a fine line between a harmless accident to 'oh my god I just brought doom upon the whole world'. My dad faced his number of accidents in his service. Like when a man accidentally shot him in a fight, or when someone unknowingly tipped off a gang leader about a defense base outside of the dome that was easy to hit. But I doubt dad ever saw anything like this before," Jane spoke about her father. The great Roger Romano. A brilliant soldier, a veteran, a might fine father. Shame he didn't know about Jane...really outside of Tanner, nobody in Jane's life outside of business knew her secret. More crap to think about. "Unlucky mistake? That's one way to put it," she agreed with Olivia. Man she really did not mean to egg this stuff on around her. At least there was a motion to change the damned subject already before someone got more pissed.

"Yeah. Saving those people and the dog was good...and best of all there was no evil invaders to blame. Total freak of nature accident," Jane said. Then Calvin shot her a look. "Huh, an accident out of anyone's control? I wonder..." he started but shook his head. Then he just went on about it as well. "I feel ya, Drew. Feels good to help people, but knowing people have to be put in a line of hurt to be helped? Puts a real shit show on playing a hero..." Calvin said. On that Jane severely agreed.

A hero is not a hero without a villain to fight. But some villains do not appear in the form of a life form...freaking Hell.

Actera bowed gracefully to her leaders. No matter how many times they went to Earth, time and time again they returned, defeated. So of course the Emperor's patience was growing thin. She, too, would get upset if someone she put trust in failed and disappointed her over and over again. This time, she and Volmour both had to make sure they didn't disappoint. Whereas Volmour could likely kill some humans, she would think of something else to make herself useful. Perhaps there was data she could gather that might be of use later. Maybe she could just put some hurt on the Rangers... maybe she could cause some of the general technology in the city to go haywire. Hacking into the systems shouldn't be too hard for someone of her brilliance. "I'm most grateful, your Graces," she said before getting up and following Volmour and Desomax to Earth. Just the professor and the Colonel. This shouldn't be hard. And with Garret Wilson out of the way, her mind would be at ease again.
---
Easy to tell Olivia wasn't too eager on leaving HQ. Still, Lucas was glad she decided to tag along. Everyone just needed to get some fresh air, blow off some steam, do whatever to get their thoughts sorted out. Especially after that downer on the situation. No matter how well they were doing in this fight, saying they were winning was just sheer optimism. No guarantees they'll be successful in the end. Sure, Lucas and Tidal had both known, or at least strongly suspected this when they got into this all... Let's be fair, it was a reason why Lucas had been so terrified at first... But still, when doing so well and yet hearing they couldn't say they were winning... Nobody liked to hear that.
"Indeed," Lucas nodded. "Surely if Wilson, or anyone else, had known or even suspected there was an evil intergalactic Empire out there hellbent on destroying us all, he wouldn't have sent out that signal in the first place." Hell, for all they knew the aliens that would find the signal were friendly beings that would help them advance and end wars and other problems the Earth had before worrying about imminent destruction. Calling it an unlucky mistake was quite the understatement, but it was what it was. You really couldn't call it treason since it was never Dr. Wilson's intention to bring doom to the Earth. Tidal just scoffed, not wanting to waste more words on the situation. He was pissed, alright, but he didn't want to make matters worse than they already were. Still... he couldn't help but think that if it weren't for Wilson's curiosity, he'd still be together with his parents, and his brother might be alive.

Lucas nodded faintly as Olivia changed the subject. They went out here because they didn't want to think about the situation, did they not? So why keep talking about it? That was rather counter-productive.
"I wouldn't call the fire itself a good thing, exactly," Tidal remarked dryly. Sometimes he could really be an asshole, but in this case it was just way too easy to make a remark like that. It resulted in an eye-roll on Lucas' end. Granted, if the situation was different he might have easily said the exact same thing. But with everyone feeling a bit on edge and upset, it felt way out of place to say things like this.
"Saving the people, and the dog, was great yes. Bella will be grateful," Lucas said with a smile. He recognized the dog Jane saved. One of the "puppies" he walked at times. "And definitely nice Armada wasn't involved, for a change."
Tidal nodded in agreement. "That was probably the best thing of today, yeah," he said.
Both could definitely agree with Calvin's words. Saving people was great. People needing saving... a lot less.

The convoy outside meant only one thing: Sitting ducks. Dr. Wilson and Colonel Smith sat in the back of the cruiser as quiet as mice. Wilson was ashamed and Smith was just determining how long of a prison sentence would be appropriate for the rat bastard. The soldiers/guards with them positioned themselves outside as procedure deemed while the one was still inside of the courthouse on his own work accord. "I hope you have a good defense, Wilson. Because with what we have against you, your chances of freedom are slim to none." Smith made that a promise to him.
Wilson hung his head. "I never meant to attract the Armada here. I was a researcher, curious only to find life..."
"Well, you found it alright."

The Rexian forces beamed to Earth in the domed city quietly. If assassination is the goal here they had better be on their guard. Especially if the security is tight. Desomax took knowledge from past field commanders and made it so he made almost no mistakes. He thought this through step by step. Behind a wall of a nearby building he analyzed the area and surrounding forces of the cruiser containing their targets. He turned to the generals behind him and the force of Dytrons accompanying them in surprising stealth. The Rangers would show up if they drew attention. Better take care of that.
"General Actera, please hack their communication systems. Disable them from contacting aid form outside forces," Desomax said to her in his position of field command. "And General Volmour, once the communication is blocked you must lead the troops in to make work of the security. I will eliminate the targets when my path is clear."

So strategic. So evil. So worthy of the Armada's ranks!

Actera smirked as Desomax posed his plan. Cunning, evil, well thought out. On a first thought she spotted no flaws in his idea. With the communication system out of order, nobody would be able to alert the rangers of the attack. And if they weren't alerted, they wouldn't be able to show up! Unless they just so happened to run into them here on the street, but that chance was so small it was easily taken for granted. The city was large, after all. "An excellent idea, Desomax," she complimented the field commander. Granted, she was a General and he just a commander, so he had no right to boss her around, but at least this field commander came up with a decent idea instead of something completely foolish, like so many that came before him. She put her goggles over her eyes, the lenses filling with the lenses with the interfaces and graphs that came with her virtual reality vision. She pulled out a tablet for extra assistance, sat down behind the wall and looked for an access point. The plus side of a domed city full of tech was that there were several hidden access points. One might never know when someone on City Defense might need it to send an emergency message or anything. Or, which really only was a plus side for the Armada, when a Field Commander or just about anyone in Armada's ranks with a brilliant mind and knowledge of technology would need to hack into the city systems. Oh wait, that was just her! Cue a chuckle. This wasn't the first time she had hacked into the systems, or hijacked anything. There had been many occasions before in her career. Most were at planets more advanced than Earth, so using her skills here was a cakewalk.

Within moments she was deep within the technological network spanning the dome of Inezia. And while she worked on disabling the communications system, she also downloaded whatever possibly useful data she could find, sending it straight to her computers on the ship. "Hmm...." she mumbled. "The communications have been cut off. With just a code or two more, I could also shut down all security cams. Nobody will know what happened that way. Shall I?" She didn't want to risk pulling her own plans and meddling with the brilliant idea Desomax came up with, risking the Emperor's fury upon their return. All Desomax had to do was say the word and the camera's would shut off... or say no and she'd leave them on so all of City Defense would witness as their precious professor and leader of the Earth fell to Armada's might, with nothing they could do to stop it.

Impudent as it may be for a field commander to order a general, this commander was created by the Empress and delivered a cold plan which was straight to the point. No gimmicks or loops, just straight up evil. Volmour's own mechanical heart agreed and shaded with Desomax. "Normally field commanders do as we say, though this time around I have to agree with one." Volmour really liked the plan to cut chances of aid and then go in for the kill. Oh the kills. He could get used to plots like this and not such comical ones as introduced beforehand. A heist such as this reminded him of past encounters on other planets. Using their skill to brave the weather of older planets and take what they wanted. Bashing in warriors heads if they dared defy them, disrupt their worlds systems and rule them. Sinister as other world domination may have been, he preferred something where he personally got to sink his blade into someone or command the troops to open fire and watch someone squirm. Unbeknownst to him, The Emperor's virus in his mind made him extra dark in moments like this. He would have it no other way than this.

"Oh, good work, Actera. You went through the system in no time!" Volmour praised. Working with that brain and his bronze put up a good fight. And all of this two kill two people only? Sure anyone else in the way would die but this just felt over the top. Why not bomb them up? Simpler. But this was somehow more fun. Whether the cameras were cut or not, Volmour stepped to the side. He took his sword out and rallied the Dytrons behind him to clear out the security. Smith and Wilson were in for quite the surprise, were they not? The general signaled the charge at his own pace without hearing the yes or no from Desomax on the cameras. Volmour cared not for being seen, if he was seen then they would at least watch their allies die! Granted if the Rangers were in the base or not. Humans weren't predictable as he assumed in some cases. Dytrons stormed the security force around the cruiser and tackled the men in uniform by surprise, slamming weapons into them and firing impactful shots. "Way to make an entrance," Volmour commented and made himself known to the humans. He gleefully swatted a man aside and laughed as the robots stormed the attack.

"Yes. Disable cameras," Desomax told the general, mono toned. The robot was incapable of most reactions other field commanders had before him. Part of why he was so effective in his job. He watched on as Volmour and the troops attacked without a real say-so. The humans were indeed caught off guard as they had been ambushed. Men fell to the Dytrons, though they did put up a fight. The commander stepped out from behind the wall as a helpless Colonel and professor sat in the back of the cruiser.

"Damn, an ambush," Smith cursed and pulled up his comm link. He tried calling help. Nothing. Again, and nothing. "They have blocked our communications. We can't call for help," he noted. It had seemed as though the Armada was learning from past mistakes. Brilliant from a certain point of view. That point being not the one he and Wilson are on. Desomax approached their vehicle slowly as if he had all of the time in the world to do so. Menacingly he looked at the helpless men in the cruiser. The Colonel withdrew his sidearm from his holster. The man would not go out without a fight! Dr. Wilson felt more secure and more endangered knowing Smith had a pistol. Gulp. The generals were free to attack the soldiers if they pleased and one had already begun. The field commander then grabbed the car door and ripped it off effortlessly. Upon the ripped door, Smith opened fire and barrage bullets into Desomax to no avail. They bounced off and tickled his metallic body. Smith unloaded his clip until it rang empty. Wilson swallowed in fear for his life, yelling for help. He was old and cuffed with no means of defense! What he would't give for the Rangers, now...
The Colonel had been yanked out of the car and tossed aside. The commander then focused on Wilson and plucked him from the back of the car and held the man up by his shirt collar. Wilson kicked around frantically as Smith groaned on the ground, the taste of pavement on his old tongue. Desomax then fired his arm gauntlets at the security force as well as the troop returning from the courthouse. He would watch people die before he himself perished! It was motioned for the generals to taunt Smith in the meantime.
---
On the main ship of the Armada the Emperor and Empress witness events unfold. Neither questioned why the two Earthlings were together and why one was cuffed. Unless...
"Figures they would have caught on by now. I recognized the old professors guilt the moment I first met him," Urthemial spat. His dear wife strolled around and around, watching her commander's performance and gathering data secretly. Yes, it seemed like her husband knew so much of what was going on. Not like she had been the true brains and he had to fill her void with two servants or anything, no not at all.
"Ahh, husband. So it is Dr. Wilson who attracted you to Earth over twenty years ago? This must be bittersweet, killing the man who made this possible," she teased. Urthemial spat again. "Enough, vile woman, all humans are disgusting. Wasting their world when we could be using it right now. Make yourself useful and order Desomax to kill them already," he demanded of her. IN a twisted love way, Splica bowed and did as he asked. On the outside, anyway. Splica walked to the computer and input information. But not an order to kill. Instead, she used an old routing comm channel from when Shadow was on their side. Splica had just sent the exact location of the attack...to Tidal and the Rangers on his morpher. Why? Let her commander play a while longer, this was about to get more interesting.
---
Stressed Rangers walked along the sides of the street in Inezia. Events of today rang in their minds and they hadn't the idea to be happy about saving people or being sad about the need for people to be saved in the first place. Without anger, they wouldn't be together. Poor circumstance, yet... Just a moment form that pondering thought. Drew noticed out of the corner of his eye that Tidal's morpher was blinking. He first thought the sound was his own but it was not. "Hey Tidal? I think you're morpher is beeping..." he pointed out. This is odd. Why would the Captain contact Tidal alone instead of everybody? Unless this is a strictly personal thing. Out of character, though? Highly odd.
Olivia glanced at Tidal's wrist and then her own. Weird he was the only one getting an alert. "Do you mind?" she asked Tidal kindly before taking his hand in hers and lifting it up to activate it and bring up the message. She didn't mean to impose and be in his business, honestly. She was only curious. Maybe it was even a glitch? She hit play on the message and all that came up was a set of coordinates and a tag of code that came to her mind as one thing: the Armada.
"It is a set of coordinates...from...the Empress? Why is the Empress sending you something?" Olivia asked Tidal in a fit of confusion. Just when the Armada hadn't been involved in something at all! There was a visual, too. It was of an attack...on Smith and Wilson. "God..." she said.
Drew poked his head in. First he wanted Tidal to say here and now if he was still on the Rexian's side, dumb question. Then he reacted to seeing coordinates to an attack on Wilson and the Colonel. The Empress giving them this? What is that all about? "We can ask questions...or hurry and get over there," Drew told the others. Time to move out!

For every domination comes a shed of sweat and blood from the new pawns of the rulers. The world outside of these domes has humans sheltered and weak. If not for the professor and his toys the human race would have been taken over a long while ago. Best make up for lost time and take what is rightfully theirs. A pity these soldiers here aren't in the ranks of the Rangers. Then they may at least stand a chance against the Armada. Volmour swept his nimble blade to the side and slashed it across a mas chest, not killing him but weakening him to a hissing ball of pain. What a kick the artificially intelligent being got out of this! What better way to prove loyalty to his own cause and the cause of his superiors?

Volmour assisted the Dytrons against the soldiers and cut them down one by one. Injuries should kill them if all goes well. "I see Desomax has given us more to play with," he commented when the commander dragged the old men out of the car and out to greet them. "Long time no see, Dr. Wilson," Volmour said to the man as he was being strung up by Desomax. Gleefully the generally kicked the Colonel's stomach while he was down. Brutality may not be the word here to describe what is going on. But it it definitely a synonym for it. Volmour kicked and kicked the old man while he was down, laughing while the other man could just watch and the other people around would have to wait their turn to die.

"Safe to say, even though it sucks that people need to be rescued, and in the least cocky way possible, it's good we're here to help," Calvin said. Once again he was going total boy scout.
The tomboy snickered and crinkled her fingers together by her mouth. "Us and people who actually went to first responder training," the girl added. Had he already forgot that two thirds of this group weren't trained like some of the others here to the same level? Ah well, the value of his words stuck. Sort of. Ass biscuit. As Tidal's morpher went off the first thing that came to their minds was that he either had a hot date with one of the workers in the lab and this was their best way to keep in touch or that the brooding one of the group had special work all his own. The former was more interesting than the latter. When it was revealed just what the message was? Safe to say both options just mentioned were way out of the coocoo's nest.

"You have a message from the Empress? Bro I thought you were on our side?" Jane then smacked Tidal's back. Both jokingly and...legit. The relationship between them was oddly...odd. Good, but still odd. "Seriously, why is Splica sending you something?" Jane asked. Really weird situation here.
Calvin rubbed his chin and looked at it closely. Splica...that cold-heart bitch. "She sent us the location of where we need to go? This could be a trap," Calvin put out. Had nobody else thought of this to be a trap? Just him? Is anyone blind, here?

Admiral Akbar jokes aside this did sound like a trap. Hesitantly Jane nodded along and agreed they should go. Trap or not, something could be up. And if it is one...better they stumble into it than a civilian. "If this is a trap, why would Splica herself send it? She could have made it look like the Captain sent it...she wants us there for some reason. I say we go," Jane reasoned. Calvin shook his head and mentally protested but would go if the others were going to. He had a bad feeling about all of this!

Actera nodded, entering some final pieces of code, disabling the cameras in the city. Now nobody would be able to see what was going on. Less possibilities fo help. Humanity wouldn't know what hit them when one of the planet's most brilliant minds and the leader of the world were found dead. Well... they would know what hit them. It was obvious, was it not? Actera watched as Volmour and the Dytrons were making short work of the soldiers, cutting through them like butter. Without pesky rangers to get in their way, harming those humans was easier than expecting. Disappointing, really. Actera liked a bit of a challenge, and the only people on Earth that could popery deliver were the Rangers. On the other hand, it was going to make completing their mission much easier. And without the Colonel and their precious professor, where would the world be?

She strolled out of the alleyway as well, watching the bloodshed with a smile on he face. The Commander was down on the street like some pathetic old man. Oh, yes. She and Volmour could certain have some fun with that man. But not before she'd walk past Desomax, holding Dr. Wilson up in the air.
"Here we are once more, old man," she said. "You have our thanks for showing us the way to your planet. It's almost a shame to think this will be the last time we see each other like this, is it not?" She laughed coldly, the technological flicker in her eyes clouding any traces of emotion. How.... why was it she both wanted to see this man dead, and was she feeling so strange about the idea the professor would die here today? She didn't understand, and didn't like it a single bit. She blasted the Colonel, who was being kicked around by Volmour. But... she didn't quite find the joy in it she had hoped to find. Her mind was too clouded with thoughts that didn't seem hers.
---
Needless to day, Tidal was confused to see his morpher had an alert. And only his, too. He was about to check the message for himself when Olivia did it for him. Excuse you, he could easily do that himself! But the message itself... Now, that was odd. Coordinates and a visual... Sent by the Armada? What and how and why? "I would've expected Dr. Wilson got rid of that comm link when he repaired the morpher.." he muttered. Then Jane slapped him. "Ow!" Was that necessary?. "They, if I knew what this was about, I would've told ya," he defended. Coordinates to a location further in the city... and a visual of Dr Wilson and the Colonel being attacked by the two Generals and a new Field Commander. Why would the Empress alert them? Unless it was a freak accident and they weren't supposed to see this at all. Still, that seemed unlikely. He imagined Urthemial to be dumb enough to do it on mistake, but the Empress? No, not her.

Lucas just blinked in surprise. Tidal was definitely on their side, he didn't doubt that in the slightest. But for him to suddenly receive a message from the Empress... that was odd. Especailly since it wasn't a threat, as you might expect from a villain, but a location and visual of what was going on right here and now. It any of it was true, that is.
"I'm with Calvin here," Lucas said. "This just has "trap" written all over it. In large fluorescent letters." Alright, that was an odd thing to say... but it was still true! Never trust a message from your enemies, especially not when it seems genuinely helpful.
"And if it's not a trap, the Colonel and Dr. Wilson are in serious trouble right now," Tidal retorted. Okay, that was fair. So off they went, then! Right to where the Empress wanted them. ... That didn't sound any better than if felt.

As the Colonel grunted and struggled on the ground surrounded by wounded men he stared up at the Emperor's generals conversing with Dr. Wilson. They spoke as if they knew him casually, almost. The red glow from the robots eyes and the pink tone from the woman's radiated as cold and technical. Years of service prepared him to face such beings head-on. Smith had almost no emotion in this moment, he just took it all in. Back of his head filled with potential ideas of how to escape.
Dr. Wilson kicked around as he was held up by Desomax. "I wish it was a pleasure," he muttered to Volmour. Then he looked to Actera. A shame what had been done to her. That woman had promise in here, he knew it. Now a mindless servant. No better than her robot companion who was highly evolved, both of them put into slavery like this. "You know nothing of the past. To see Earth through free eyes would be better than your eyes. I still do not see your appe--" Wilson started before Desomax lightly bumped his back to the cruiser and shut him up. Wilson yelped. His back! His old and brittle back!

No word to kill as of yet. Why was the Empress taking so long for the order?
---
"We had better be on guard. Maybe it got hacked, or he missed something. Everyone just stay alert," Drew warned as the team took the coordinates on Tidal's morpher and fled. Why the Empress, queen bee of evil, would send them these and tell them to go help their friend had been so far out of anyone's imagination. A gift horse is not to be looked in the mouth. No idea where that saying originates from. Is there even a real reason as to why someone shouldn't look a horse in its mouth? Horse breath could be rank..or maybe--enough with that thought train, already! Gah! Like their friends, Drew and Olivia had very bad feelings about this.
---
Confronting their demons and heading to Splica's coordinates the Rangers arrived just in time to see Smith on the ground and Wilson held up in the air. The generals and a new bot of destruction as the welcoming committee. Their eyes scanned around at the fallen and wounded guards nearby. Instead of tending to them and calling for help Drew and Olivia snapped at the ready and stopped with their friends. "Hold it right there," Olivia called out to the three holding the officials hostage.
Desomax, Wilson and Smith looked out to the six heroes of the hour. Confusing. The old men thought there was no way of help being called in? And Desomax thought Actera made sure of that? How the blazes are the Power Rangers here?

"Rangers!" Wilson called desperately. The old man looked brittle. Desomax dropped him like a sack and made the man hit the ground. Drew widened his eyes. At least have respect for the man, he's old! "Hang on, Wilson, we're gonna get you out of this," Drew called out. There may be distrust but he is going to help him. That's what...friends do, he guessed. Olivia gave him a hopeful look and then eyed the new commander.
"I do not know how you came here. But my orders are clear, Eliminate Colonel Smith and Garrett Wilson," Desomax said. Very plain and...boring. No personality, all menace. Drew and Olivia tightened up and put up their fists. Like Hell they would let anything happen to him, even if he did bring this upon the world. And Smith may be a jerk, but he's a jerk that wants his world safe! Both are worth saving!

"If you guys wanna run for it, now's the time," Drew said the the brainwashed generals. Sad they had no free will in this. But less sad when they were impossible to regain mentally and worse than ever. And Volmour had been kicking Smith's gut, not cool! "Do not force a confrontation if you wish to be unharmed," Olivia noted to them. Desomax had no reaction. Instead he lifted his two blades and swing them effortlessly. Built for killing. Drew looked at the others...so do they morph now? Or are they going to stand here and ponder? Desomax gave them no time to think and fired a quick burst of shots from his gauntlets, hitting the ground near the Rangers. Blinding sparks in the air caused them all to stagger, Drew and Olivia put their hands up in defense. Yikes.

At least Calvin wasn't the only one here who thought this may be a trap. Whenever bad guys say they have something that can help the good guys and they just hand it over like it's nothing it usually isn't a normal sign. Would Superman expect Lex Luthor to just completely stop all of his evil deeds and bake cupcakes for the world to enjoy? No; although that would definitely make for an interesting story line. Too bad the publishers and creators of the comics are likely gone or occupied with other matters in the worlds current state. Most of that chunk of words was about Superman comics and cupcakes, way to stay on task, right?
A shudder ran across Calvin's body. Jane shared the feeling...
---
"Silence, fool," Volmour told Dr. Wilson and kicked Smith once again. Old man talking to them like his words mattered. In this war the only words that mattered were the last words spoken by the meddling Technicolor humans. The most worthy enemies make the sweetest final words. From every battle on every resisting planet he had sampled such words. Wilson's words, although not entirely final yet, were just bothersome. Volmour chuckled as the man was slammed against the automobile. Less chuckles and more snarls when he saw the incoming meddling humans. How is that possible?
"What's this? How...h-how are you here? You had no way of knowing!" Volmour shouted, thinking this was impossible! How, damn it?

Jane and Calvin stop with their friends and hastily eyed what was going on. These Rexian bastards! Beating on old defenseless men and gloating about it. Real tough, oh totally. And it really looked like they were all as shocked to see the Rangers as the Rangers were to have this information from Splica. If it was a trap it should spring right about now...well shit, nothing? Better not hold their breath. Jane half expected a trap to spring any moment now and in any form. Either they'll be blown up, ambushed, shot all to bits, possibly pelted with pigeon crap--sometimes these evil plans get a bit unorthodox. Creative nevertheless. This was an old-fashioned tactic of just beating on the enemy and killing someone important. The married couple in space must be getting anxious to kill off people of high importance. Especially someone with a pitiful plea for help. Hearing Wilson speak hurt...Jane cringed and clenched her fists tightly. She didn't understand him today but she would rip someones head off for hurting that old bastard. Especially...especially before she could! Because she needs to sound masculine! About as masculine as an 18-year old girl with a 'little girl' complex and video game addiction can muster, anyway. Maybe tough instead of masculine, makes it sound like less of a gender questioning system here.

"Run run run as fast as you can, can't catch us, cause we're gonna beat the crap out of you," Jane added to Drew's taunt to the bad guys. Beware the wrath of pissed off Rangers! Seriously, it hasn't worked out for most evil doers. :Go back to your boss and tell him his eye patch needs a little work since he didn't see us coming," she added again. Rambling tomboy is a rambling tomboy. Calvin huffed out his chest and stiffened his stance. He had seen situations like this where there were hostages. Maybe Smith and Wilson aren't exactly hostages but this was sort of like what he had experienced. He hissed when Wilson got dropped. "You guys are asking for it," he told them. Shortly after he yelped from being shot at, Jane too. The smoke cleared and both of them were highly defensive. "Gee this metal head sure is straight to the point," Jane commented to the others. Calvin nodded in agreement. Volmour stepped to Desomax' side and snarled. "Hello Rangers, good to see you're still as moronic as ever." Ugh.

So regardless of whether they thought it was a trap or not, they headed straight for where Splica wanted them to be. Lucas saw reason in Tida's earlier words. If it wasn't a trap, the Colonel and Dr. Wilson were in trouble. No mater how anyone might view either of the old men, they were both important figures to Earth, and it would be insanely demoralizing if either... or both... would die. Sure, they had all reason not to trust Splica, or at the very least be confused as to why she would send them the coordinates and visual, but whatever the reason may be, the Power Rangers were there to save the day, weren't they now? They just talked about that!
---
"Don't waste your breath, old man," Actera shook her head. Watching two of the most important men on this planet be so weak and helpless... it was pathetic! Words mattered nothing, not even last words. A thing she disagreed with on Volmour. Last words were often just so... cheesy and pathetic. And no matter what they said, the result was always the same. There's a reason why they're last words. They died. Crushed like the vermin they are. Yet why.... why was it his words carried some kind of meaning to her? Something just outside of her grasp. She shook her head. Get it out of your mind. OUT! She grumbled under her breath and blasted the Colonel again in pure frustration. Better these two men soon be dead. Well, it seemed Dr. Wilson was close to dying if Desomax kept slamming him into the car like that. Old people are frail, easy to literally break.
"What is...?" Actera looked back in confusion as the Rangers showed up. "How is this possible?!" She had disabled the communication system AND the cameras. How was it that the Rangers were here? Was is sheer luck that they happened upon them? No, then they wouldn't react like this, as if they knew what was going on.

Fallen and wounded soldiers, a bunch of Dytrons, both Generals and a new robot... Looked like the information Splica gave them was all true. Okay, so now when if the trap going to spring on them? Explosions, nets on the ground like in cartoons... Anything? Anything at all? No... nothing. So it wasn't a trap? Or were they not close enough yet? Nevertheless Lucas and Tidal weren't amused to see what they were seeing. Armada trying to kill their friend and the leader of the planet. So this is how it is now, isn't it? Old fashioned killing, no elaborate plans, no weird as fuck monsters... just a killing machine. Literally. Dr. Wilson sounded hurt... not too surprising considering how disrespectful he was being treated. Poor man didn't have his day, it seemed. Even if Tidal wasn't sure if he could ever trust Dr. Wilson again, the man was responsible for freeing him of Armada control... after he brought them here. No, stop it. No time for that now. People in danger, gotta save the day. Lucas still thought the man couldn't be blamed for what had happened. And didn't everyone have their secrets? Granted some had more than others, and some were much more serious and impacting than others... but they're all secrets even so. Really, Lucas was more upset with the way the Colonel had treated Dr. Wilson than with the news they got today. But no matter the case, these men needed to be saved before they'd both be murdered and they would never hear the full story and things would go down nasty for Earth.

Tidal snorted at Jane's comment. Okay, you could expect just about anything from the tomboy, but this one was worth gold.
"This is the only chance you'll get. We might just let you get away," Lucas added in. Did he expect the generals to leave and flee the scene? No, not really. Still, egging them on was kinda fun. Both stood ready to fight, to defend the two men who desperately needed their help. No way they'd let this robot succeed in his mission. Wilson and Smith would live, and everything would properly get sorted out. Seeing how disrespectful Desomax treated Dr. Wilson only angered the rangers even more. Come on, you might be villains and evil to the core but... okay no wait, that was the perfect excuse to treat old people like that. Still, NOT OKAY! They didn't even get the chance to think of a next step. Already they were being shot at, yelping and staggering. How rude! The two nodded in agreement with Jane. Straight to the point indeed. That's a change of pace. Not a good one, but a change even so. Actera stepped up as well, looking at the Rangers and slightly tilting her head. "How unlucky you stumbled upon us. Not only will you see your precious Dr. Wilson and Colonel Smith die... you'll also meet your own ends!" Yeah, how about no?

Escapes of groans and pained sounds came from the men on the ground. Hurt soldiers and officers, the two officials also thriving in pain. Brutality had been a tactic of the Armada for the longer duration of its time and now humans were getting a fresh taste of it with this new commando unit. The generals of the Emperor had proven useful so far and lent their hands to his efforts. Soon enough the assassination would be complete and the Rangers would be engaged in battle.
Drew and Olivia huffed with the others as the generals taunted them and egged them on. Fists clenching and noses furrowing they aligned their posture and took a deep breath. "What are you waiting for, Rangers?" Smith asked from the ground, demanding they morph already. Likely out of fear of his life. Wilson coughed.
A nod met him in return and Drew held his arm up with the others. "Bio Morphers, Initiate," Drew led the call with the others, both he and Olivia tapping the buttons and letting the energy swirl around them and form their suits, the helmets coming up last and visors popping into place. Instantly they summoned their batons and held them up to showdown with the trio of baddies. Desomax clutched his blade handles tightly and calmly. This bot had no emotion and no personality, just built for killing. This bot concept was there before but he was the perfected edition of it all. Desomax began slowly walking towards them all with his blades out, the generals coming with him. He dragged the tips of his blades on the street.

"Go!" Drew shouted to the team and ran forward, a cry of battle being let out with his baton in hand. Olivia nodded and ran after him and the others, the group united and racing towards the threat. Treason aside they had to protect Wilson. If they start losing faith in their own species then humanity is already damned. Desomax on the other hand cared not for humanity damning themselves. Duh. The field commander collided the with the Rangers and slashed his two blades across the team, three Rangers on each blade. Drew and Olivia felt the blades hit in cold, mechanical style. Both of them yelped loudly when he hit them and the others, stumbling back in separate directions with their halves of the team they were hit with. Desomax gave no reaction time and fired his arm gauntlets at them on either side. Drew and Olivia defended themselves with hands up and stood. Desomax then aimed his weapons at Wilson and Smith over on the ground and prepared to fire to get his main objective done and over with. Olivia widened her eyes, "No!" she desperately cried out and ran to Desomax, grabbing him from behind and trying to mess his aim up. Wilson is like family...if he died on her watch she would never forgive herself. The commander shrugged her of with ease and swiped his blade across her chest, Olivia shouting in pain and rolling to the side. Drew angrily charged in. "Olivia, hold on," he called to her and ran in front of Desomax, swinging the baton at him over and over, colliding weapons but getting a good hit to his chest. For the millionth time the Rangers were against a commander worth a challenge...and the generals. All to kill two people...the Emperor must really want them dead.

While Drew and Olivia distracted Desomax, that left the others to handle the generals, Volmour and Actera having an opportunity.

Splica watched from above and input data on her console. Urthemial watched as well and glanced to her working at that station in the room. "What are you doing? Should you not be monitoring your commanders progress?" He asked like she was a moron. "Maybe you haven't been here as long but you should know you have to at least pay attention. Insolent woman," he muttered and shook his big head. The Empress cared nothing for his words. She had a plan of her own and her data was important. More important than caring if this fight went well or not.

She turned around to face him. "Husband. Have you no true intelligence?" Splica asked. Urthemial gripped his scepter in his throne and snarled, demanding her pardon. "Desomax' progress on the field matters not to me. if he kills them he kills them, if not, he doesn't. Either way we win," she said and paused, "...or I win, anyway. You do nothing but demand people work for you. You fight one time and you lose an eye. Pathetic," she said to her incompetent husband. The Emperor yelled angrily.
"Why must you pester me this way?" He asked her and shouted, getting up and angrily walked to her. Questioning his ability and challenging his authority, the nerve of this...this bitch! He should have sent her out the airlock. Bride of the Emperor laughed. "Oh, husband...I love you so," was all she said. Eerily.

Okay, this time the two could understand why the Colonel was ordering them around like that. Rangers at the scene, but not yet morphed while people, especially officials, faced danger like this would bring forth a "What are you waiting for" from just about anyone. If they wouldn't act quickly, the Colonel and Wilson would soon be dead! Tidal and Lucas nodded alongside Drew, They held up their arms and tapped the buttons on their morphers. "Bio Morpher, Initiate!" they called, energy in their respective colors surrounding them. Suits in place, then the helmets, visors last. Now they were ready to kick some ass and save some asses too. Possibly in more than one meaning of the word, depending on how they viewed the Colonel and Dr. Wilson respectively. Batons in hand, they were read for the fight. They had fought the Generals often enough, as well as a plethora of Field Commanders. But this Desomax was something different. A perfect killing machine. No room for emotions or personality that would make up some silly plan. Just stone cold killing.

They an as commanded, charging at the trio coming their way. Not before long they watched Desomax slashing into their friends. And it looked like he was a hard hitter.
"Guys!" Tidal called out. He looked between the two of them fighting Desomax and the Generals. Two each, it would seem. He huffed and charged Actera. The bitch may be brainwashed, but wasn't that some sweet kind of irony? After having brainwashed him, now she was a victim herself. Okay, that also sucks and would maybe gain empathy from some... but definitely not from him. He felt like he still had a score to settle with her. And that was not going to change anytime soon. Lucas was about to follow suit as he watched Olivia charge Desomax on her own, trying to defend Dr. Wilson.
"Olivia, look out!" he called, but he was too late. She was simply shrugged off and attacked again. Oh, he so wanted to punch Desomax in the face now! Preferably with Super Strength and the Knuckles. He an towards Desomax as well, ready to defend Olivia. Unfortunately for him, Actera intervened. She blasted the ground in front of his feet, causing sparks to fly up and him to stop in his tracks.
"Not so fast you," she said menacingly. Aww... he wanted to protect his little girlfriend. So cute. She hated cute. No, if she had any say in it, and clearly she had, she would keep him busy for just long enough so that Desomax could first finish his assassination of the two old men, and then have him watch the bitch in pink die.

Lucas shot her a dark glare under his visor. Right then... deal with the mind controlled scientist first. Thankfully he wasn't on his own. He glanced at Tidal, the dark glare turning into a gin as he noticed Tidal made use of Actera's brief moment of distraction to strike her with his baton. The General yelped, quickly turning around to slash at Tidal with a sharp end of her blaster. Blaster... that gave Lucas an idea. He turned the baton to blaster mode, and shot Actera in the back. "Surprise, bitch," he muttered, charging in and firing again at close range. Why all this effort to kill two people? Was the Armada getting that desperate?

Actera staggered forward as she was blasted from behind. Such was to be expected when fighting the coward and the traitor. Not enough guts to just straight up face her. Hah, they probably just needed her to be distracted or they wouldn't be able to land a single hit on her. But now they were both facing her. Nicely close together. How stupid. She fired a large blast, hitting both men in the chest. They yelped, clutching their chests and coughing, but not giving up.

Salute to the Colonel! Downed but still in charge. Calvin knew his place under his command chain. Jane knew it too but hated being barked at. Woof woof, to you too, pal! Woof woof! At least the reason was there and they hadn't changed yet because of...well why had they not morphed already? Usually its the first thing they do upon arrival, a formula practically existed here.
"Bio Morpher, Initiate." They slammed down on the morphers for the suits, helmets, visors, whole shebang. How nice of the bad guys to let their suits materialize on their bodies while they waited to get every square inch of their sorry asses kicked. Something about this commander Desomax just felt bad. He looked tough, of course, the Armada didn't shy away from the menacing thralls. Minus the occasional...doll. And typewriter...and big bee. Buzz buzz! What is with the animal sounds going through these thoughts today?

They took out the batons and raced in against Desomax. Wilson and Smith just had to hold on, help was on the way. Help was delayed, too. Just as they got close, the commander struck all of them with his blades. Calvin grunted on impact with the sword and Jane cried out like she had been cut through her suit. Ouch! Sparks flew and they fell backward, picking themselves up and clutching where it hurt the most. Basically everywhere. Like Tidal, Jane cried out "guys!" as Desomax had taken it upon himself to fight Olivia and Drew. They had gone to protect the leaders personally, making most sense since one of the Rangers was the leader of the team and the other had a huge connection to the ones they're protecting.

Volmour stepped in the way of Jane and Calvin's view, much like Actera was doing with the other two guys. "Do no worry about them, worry about yourselves," said the general with his blade up. The Rangers ground their teeth and got back up. Since day one this guy has been here...sure he was an evolved AI now corrupted by a virus but he stick pushed their buttons. Drew took a good hit, too. After a couple of breaths, Jane said, "Don't worry Drew, I'll be there in a second," she promised through Volmour. The robot laughed. How nice, they wanted to help their friends. Friends are about as useful as a glass of water in the middle of a fresh water pool. He would enjoy himself under his red eyes as these two perished and once again were shown why synthetic lifeforms are far superior in every way--at least in combat. Of course his Emperor is the grand master of all!
Jane and Calvin looked at each other and nodded, running in at Volmour with full speed and swinging their weapons in sync at him. He dodged but slashed his blade out to meet theirs.

The general parried their attacks with ease and aggressively assaulted them. Always making a fool of him to his Emperor, they would pay dearly. He stood in their way, still, preventing them from helping anyone else. Volmour lashed out at them with his blade and hit them, grazing their chests enough to cause a duo grunt. Calvin ran in and heavily swing his baton, breaking the robots focus. "That one hit!" he let out and let Jane know he was vulnerable. She nodded on his word and jumped off of Calvin's shoulders, beaming the baton down and slashing Volmour's chest. Sparks flew and the general yelped as well, staggering back as they came at him with such power.
"C'mon, buckethead, show me what you've got," Jane called to him. She ran at him again only this time he was ready. She swung the baton and Vomout kicked it out of her hand with such finesse, swiping his blade across her chest. She cried out and fell down, sparks emitting. Calvin huffed. "Enough," he said and raced in, switching to blaster mode, only met with a freaking PUNCH TO THE FACE from Volmour. Volmour hit Calvin's head so hard it was a wonder he didn't crack his visor!

Emperor and Empress. Accurate yet horribly mismatched in position. The Emperor spat when his wife told him she loved him. "Enough of this eerie talk of love. I demand to know why you continue being a thorn in my side," he said to her dominantly. In return Splica spun on her heel and swatted him across the face. It seems the Empress has her own ambition here.
"My, my, dear husband. I only mean to say that you had personally taken many worlds and done battle with the finest in the galaxy. You destroyed all in your way and made your named feared across every solar system. Now you come to Earth and a group of children are enough to keep you from victory. You fight one time and get a severe handicap. You are no ruler, you are not fit to lead this Armada," Splica said. She had these thoughts for quite some time. Finally they surfaced. Honestly, a group of humans barely in adulthood have pushed his forces back time and time again. One of them even used to serve him. The Emperor was not fit for this.
After their battle long ago he thought he would be free of her? Well his two slaves were proof he needed her. Needed to fill the void after she left. Urthemial was not the true leader, here. Splica was.
"What are you saying, foul woman? Know your place for I have the galaxy at my beck and call!" Urthemial defended. Splica laughed. Her husband was a fool.
"Oh dear, I can not believe you. Even that I place it all before you, you see nothing of the big picture. Desomax is on Earth now with the Rangers. Why? Because I need data for an experiment on his end. I know how to defeat the Power Rangers and take Earth. He will grant me the last bit of data I need," she admitted. How she knew how to beat them was beyond him. But Splica knew!
Empress Splica contained knowledge to destroy the Rangers...but never spoke up? She was not done talking, though.
---
Generals distracting the other Rangers gave Desomax more room to work. From brutal violence to cunning wit, both displayed loyalty to the Armada. Not much went into his cognitive functions outside of military knowledge and methods of dismemberment yet he did notice and appreciate the Generals. The Rangers lacked the same appreciation for violence.
"Man it's like they're on super drive," Drew commented to Olivia, noting how the generals were persisting in their aggression. Especially how Calvin got punched in the face! Why did that seem as brutal as it was? Ouch! "I have to agree," Olivia said, "the Rexians are more intense. They really want Smith and Wilson dead." Really from a military stand point it made sense to go after leaders like this. Brutality was optional. But to go straight for the brains of any operation to cripple them was a tactic used throughout history. This did not mean that assassination attempts were good, but they made sense as messed up as they were.

Desomax neared the two downed men again, prompting Drew to run over and tackle him from the side. He tumbled with the bot before being pushed off and struck with a sword. Drew grunted but did not back down. Today has been so crazy and his mind felt as if it were going in fifty places at one time. Baton crashed into the commanders blades and heavily pushed down, not giving up against this hunk of junk. "Just get away from them already," Drew huffed to Desomax and pushed back, narrowly escaping a slash aimed at his head. Decapitation was not on his agenda for the day.
"Insolent humans, you know not when to quit," replied Desomax.
The robot fooled around with Drew more before getting a hit on his chest and kicking him back. Drew tried doing a charged attack but Desomax cut him off mid-charge, slashing his chest hard. Drew yelped from pain and Olivia took his place in front of the downed men. If they weren't so old they would be able to run already! "Don't touch them," she ground her teeth. Trembling slightly from his might, she stood her ground. Desomax slowly approached her and just grabbed her by the arm, throwing her to the side as if she were nothing.

"Rangers, out of our way." Desomax announced this and then quickly spun around, firing his arm gauntlets at all six Rangers, machine gun style blasts barraging Drew and Olivia's chests with sparks as well as the others off with the generals. Desomax then approached the two men on the ground. Smith tried to crawl away, Wilson just froze. And with a swift motion, Desomax sunk his blades into their flesh. Judging by the screams? He had either hit something vital or just really hurt them both.
A hopeless expression caught Olivia's face under her visor. From physical pain to mental. She stared as Desomax stabbed Wilson and Smith...emotionless...breathless. Drew yelled out for them, his voice cracking. "NOOOOOO!"

As much as Lucas and Tidal wanted to butt in on the conversation, or even respond to Calvin being punched in the face, Actera kind of kept their hands tied. They just had to agree in silence. The Generals did seem to be on super drive. Usually they weren't this much of an issue, right? They'd attack a few times, and then leave the Monster of the Week to deal with them, never with any success. For the Armada to be this determined.. persistent... successful... that was scary. A definite hint things were getting more serious than ever before. In part it was surprising it had taken the Rexians this long to switch to tactics of sheer brutality. As if it was only now they realized the Rangers were a problem. After, how many were it, a defeat or 25? 30? And that was only since the Power Rangers came to be. Beforehand the military had been successful enough in keeping he entire planet from being conquered.

"Well, it's not like we're going to let them," Lucas said, finally having a chance to say something. He fired his blaster at Actera. And again. Now, just once more. Boy, did he want her out of the way! The sooner Actera would give up and flee back to her ship, the sooner Tidal and him could help out their friends in dealing with Desomax.
"Damn right there!" Tidal nodded, charging at Actera again with his baton, a battlecry escaping from him as he slashed her with all the strength he could muster.
"Be quiet, fools," Actera hissed, slashing the both across the chest again, spin kicking them backwards. The two stumbled back and fell to the ground. "I'm going to keep you busy just long enough so you can watch the old men perish." She laughed menacingly. Oh how sweet this moment would be. First the two old men would die, and then the rangers would follow suit. Victory for the Armada at last! And it was long since due.

The two watched from the ground as Desomax once again kicked their friends back. They barely even were back to their feet themselves as they were shot at. Again. By Desomax. Sparks went flying, Rangers went rolling. And all they could do was watch from the ground as the menacing robot approached its targets and sunk its blades into them. The screams made their blood freeze in their veins.
Lucas scrambled back to his feet and started rushing over, but his legs gave in after only a step or three. Watching this horror take place just drained all the strength he had inside of him. He sank to his knees, shocked, horrified. He clasped his hands over his mouth... not that he was able to make any kind of sound.
"This... this can't really be happening, can it?" Tidal managed to squeeze out. He looked at his teammates in disbelief. Was this it, then? A victory for Armada? And one of the most horrific ones possible, at that? "Please tell me this is just a horrible nightmare...."

Yes. YES! At long last the Armada reigns victorious as they should! Now Actera should feel a lot... But she didn't feel better. Why didn't she feel better? Her mind was supposed to feel at ease now. She was supposed to be happy, gloating. And yet she wasn't. In fact the humanoid General felt more confused, no... conflicted, than ever before. Why was she feeling all these things she was not supposed to feel?
