Hero, the title given to those who perform good deeds, and protect the innocent...

With discovery of Quirks, powers and abilities born into humans birth, the world has become an interesting place. With these Quirks, the balance of good and evil escalated, no longer would normal Law Enforcement be able to confront the Evil’s of Society alone. The Governments of the world made a new profession, the Profession of Heroes. Individuals who use their Quirks to halt Evil, and protect the people.

It has been over a decade since the fall of All Might and the events which followed, UA has since graduated many Pro-Hero’s, ones who capable of even surpassing the famed Hero. This year begins a new class of future Heroes, as Japan’s most legendary and prestigious Hero Academy, welcomes its new students.

Buses and Cars line the streets outside the gates of UA, kids arrive with their personal belongings, ready to begin their time as Students in the Dorms of UA...

First day of classes, UA Dorms

Apollo Delphi set down his bags in the UA dorms. Due to the drastic increase in villain activity after All Might’s defeat years ago, all UA students were still required to live on campus. Apollo had spiked black hair and his composure was that of importance. He was an attractive young man with a very well maintained physique, his cold standoffish attitude tended to separate him from people his age but tended to attract girls his age, despite his obvious disinterest in romance. His eyes were a shining purple, as if they were dimly glowing with a dark energy. Apollo had gotten into UA with multiple recommendations so he hadn’t gotten the advantage of analyzing his classmates quirks in the entrance exams. He had chosen a room in the back corner to avoid being close to the common areas. He had no interest in getting close with any of his classmates. Apollo was here to be a hero and he wasn’t going to let any of the students here get in his way. A knock at the door stopped him in his tracks. A beautiful young girl with strawberry blonde hair stopped at the door. “Hi there! My names Kairi, do you need any help unpacking?” She said flashing a sweet smile. Apollo stared at her monotonously before walking over to the door to shut it without saying a word. Class starts in an hour he had no time to be wasting socializing.

Across the hall, Shiro Karasu stood in his room, satisfied with a smile as he marveled at his work. A simple and tidy room, his two bags still unpacked, with only posters of his two admired Pro Hero’s put up on the wall above his bed.
Shiro stands at 5’10”, athletically built, and considered very handsome by his peers. His eyes are a bold crimson red, he has light tan skin, and his undercut hair is a dark grey with a single white streak on each side of his head. “Alright! I can unpack my clothes later today, lets go make some friends shall we?!” Opening his own door, he caught the slightest glimpse of one of his many new roommates, sensing a darkness before their door closed on a girl. Smiling brightly, he held out his hand, “Hello, my name is Shiro Karasu, it’s a pleasure to be in class 1-A with you.” He spoke smoothly with an air calming warmth around him.

Down the hall, a boy and girl watched with high interest. The twins, Caesar and Ally Valentine, both admitted to UA through recommendations. Caesar stood at 5’11” with bright red eyes and spiky blonde hair, Ally was a just a few inches shorter with darker red eyes and long dark crimson hair. Both had pointy ears, and each bared a set of fangs as they shared a bags of chips to eat. “That him?” Caesar asked curiously. Ally narrowed her eyes, “Yeah, Shiro Karasu, the one who scored among the top three in every category of the Written and Practical Entrance exams. No other student achieved this. Not mention the guy who beat Us in recommendations.” She added with mild annoyance. Caesar chuckled with a grin, “This should be fun.”

In Apollo’s room, the shared wall between his room and the next over, a hole was punched through in a clear space. The hole was big enough for a head to fit through, as seen when a boy with wavy brown hair, poked his head through. “Sorry bout this, was practicing some shadow boxing and got too close.” He apologized as he smiled innocently. Considering the Dorms were built with sturdy material and accounted for housing students with possibly destructive quirks, it still wasn’t an easy task to break the walls. Opening his bright blue eyes, he introduced himself, still with his head through the hole. “Hi, names Noctis Cloud, don’t remember seeing ya at the entrance exams. You get in on recommendation?”

Kairi turned around looking slightly embarrassed. “Oh hello, I’m sure he just is a little shy.” She said smiling trying to mask her emotions. She collected herself and shook his hand. “My name is Kairi Ugata, pleased to meet you.” She had soft pink eyes to match her hair, which was cut off just at her shoulders.

Apollo looked at Noctis with mild interest. “Decent strength. This had better be fixed before bed if you want to keep all your bones intact.” With that said Apollo grabbed his school bag and walked over to his window and jumped out. Landing soundlessly 12 floors down Apollo found the nearest path that travelled around the campus grounds and began walking paying close attention to the other students sizing up his competition. Apollo had no desire to make friends or bonds with any of the students at UA. They were merely speed bumps on the road to being a Pro-Hero. Apollo thought back to the events leading up to now.

A mysterious and elusive father that disappeared after his birth. Then the brutal unsolved murder of his mother when he was only 4, causing his quirk to develop at a very young age. The young Apollo was in the bath for hours before he stumbled down the stairs to the lifeless body of his mother. His mother's sister raised him from then on. She is currently the richest woman in Japan and has friends in very high places. Apollo’s Aunt began his hero training immediately, she was constantly making sure he understood the importance of control with his quirk. His aunt paid for a pro hero to train him for a month, every month for eleven years. Apollo excelled in all aspects of school and was always ahead. His lifestyle of training meticulously had left him a very closed off person, the images of his past forever haunting him. In the past few months Apollo’s entire life changed when he found a file on his quirk while searching his aunts main office. It was classified as pure darkness, a quirk bred from evil. Upon this news, Apollo made it his life goal to prove that his future isn’t evil. He would track down his father and demand to know everything and be the very best hero. He got into UA with record high of 174 recommendations from all around the world, including every hero trainer he had and several other important associates of his aunt.

Apollo leapt ten feet in the air landing on a tree branch. Laying back onto the tree, he pulled out his school text book flipping to a page marked towards the end and continued reading.

Shiro shrugged as he shook her hand lightly, "Some people just need to be warmed up to. It's a pleasure Kairi, I'm about to start heading to class now, care to join?" He asked kindly as he let her hand go. He did remember seeing Kairi at the entrance exams, only in passing, they weren't in the same group.

Noctis came up to the tree, panting a little, "Man, stairs are something else. Yo dude! I didn't catch you name!" He called up to the kid in the tree, now out in the open, Noctis was of average height with a built stature. Clearly his quirk relied on physical strength, yet he still looked agile.

Kairi smiled in return nodding as she walked off with Shiro. Something about that mysterious classmate nagged at the back of her mind. She was sure she hadn’t done anything rude, maybe he was just shy. The nerves of her first day took over though and her mind began racing about all the possibilities of what could happen on the first day of classes.

Apollo glared at Noctis over his textbook before closing it with an eye roll. Apollo casually swung down off the branch landing a few feet from Noctis. Sling his bag over his right shoulder he started walking towards the school building. “The name’s Apollo Delphi, just stay out of my way.” He said evenly.

Apollo arrived at the classroom as a few students had already begun filing in. He took a seat in the back left corner to avoid too much attention on him. Opening his textbook back up he kept reading until an unnatural feeling came over him. Instantly he locked on to the student entering the room with the girl that tried to speak to him before. So this was the student who scored the highest on the entrance exam. Apollo had really only scouted out the students in the years above him, but something about this student though was holding his attention.

Shiro walked into the classroom with a bright smile, walking around with Kairi and introducing himself to the other students. Some were open to him, others felt a little nervous by his openness to them. Yet he always seemed to know when he was pressing too much, and backed off before the student felt too uncomfortable. His people skills were higher than average, able to read a room, and act accordingly. As his eyes scanned the room, they slowly locked with the boy who he glimpsed earlier, it was almost too subtle. For a split second, there was brief tension, like two opposing sides meeting in battle. Suddenly it was cut off as someone stood in front of Apollo, completely blocking out the other boy. Caesar looked down at him with a hungering red eyes, “Morning, Apollo Delphi. My Sister and I,” As he spoke, a girl resembling him a little, sat down in the chair next to Apollo. “Were wondering if we could sit next to ya, seeing as how we all fit the Angsty Teen category.” He said slyly as he slumped into the chair in front of Apollo. By this time, Shiro was already busy again talking to other students, one of them being Noctis.

Apollo looked up at Caesar. Doing a quick scan of the room he came to the conclusion that these too would probably be the best choices, it would also help keep the more uppity students out of his way. “Do as you like.” He said tolerably.

The classroom door swung open as a tall figure stepped in. “In your seats!” The man bellowed as his voice commanded the room. The rest of the students rushed to take their seats. “My name is Icarus, I will be one of your home room teachers. You will meet your other teacher tomorrow. This is class 1-A, the top prospects of UA. If you prove that you are not worthy of that we have a right to relocate you or even expel you at any time. If you have ever had doubts about being a pro-hero, this class is not for you.” He said firmly as he addressed the class. “Things will be different than the years past. You will have two home room teachers this year. The principal believes the different teaching styles will only help you achieve further heights, we shall see. Today will be a fitness evaluation to assess how far along each of you are with controlling your quirks. We will head to the training field now and go over introductions and the evaluation. Any questions?” Icarus asked bluntly. He wore a black overcoat the stopes halfway down his calves and his spiky red hair was pointing in all directions.

Apollo heard a student mutter in front of him. “That’s the illusionist, if he makes contact with you he can make you see anything he wants!” Apollo knew plenty about this hero as he had read all of the dossiers that his aunt had on the current heroes.

Shiro sat near the front of the class, closest to the door, he dipped his head excitedly at the thought of a little test like this. Noctis had sat in the desk diagonally from Apollo, giving friendly waves back to his corner mates. Caesar and Ally smiled back, they may seem withdrawn and angsty, but they had good hearts and kindness to spare. Ally cracked her knuckles excitedly, “Sweet, a chance to show some of our stuff huh?” Caesar smirked, “A smart start, expected of a Pro Hero.” Noctis turned around to Apollo, “Alright, now we’ll get to see everyones Quirks, should be fun.”

The class split up by gender and went to the locker rooms to change in their athletic attire. The students were a buzz of excited chatter about whats to come. They had heard how the evaluations had been in the past but lately UA had been changing up the curriculum due to the rising villain threat. As the students made their way out to the training field Icarus stood alone in an open green space. Silhouettes of other older students could be seen pressed against the windows watching with great interest.

“This years evaluation is designed to show how well you can apply your quirks in simple situations. Most of you were required to do track and field at your middle schools. Today you will be competing in a few events you may be familiar with. The only difference is you are allowed to use your quirks. The events will be shot put, the long jump, and the 200m run.” Icarus paused to count the students. “There are eighteen students in our class this year as of right now. You will be competing individually and I will be keeping track of scores. Pay attention to the other students and how they use their quirks, you will all be competing in the spirts festival later this year and it’s only going to benefit you if you know what your up against.” Icarus finished speaking and pulled out his clip board. “First event, shot put, measured by throw distance. Kairi, you’re up first.” All the students didn’t need to be told to watch their competitors. This was their first taste of what the other students can do, all eyes were on Kairi.
Kairi walked up to the ball visibly nervous. Her quirk was ‘tornado’, she could create and control tornados on a smaller scale. She held out the ball in her hand as a small cyclone of air appeared in her hand before sending the ball flying, only not straight out, it shot violently to the side bouncing off a tree ricocheting back nearly hitting Icarus. He grumpily marked his clip board before calling the next few students. One by one they through the ball some using their quirks, others saving them for the other categories. Icarus found the next name on the list. “Okay next up is Ally, followed by Shiro and then Caesar. Let’s move.” He said with slight intrigue in his voice.

Apollo stood in the back waiting patiently for his name to be called.

Shiro patted Kairi on the shoulder, “Don’t worry yourself, you have an awesome Quirk, and I truly believe you will do great things with it.” He told her reassuringly with a kind smile.

Ally stepped up to the plate, taking the ball in a tight grip, “My real quirk ain’t designed for this, but my own strength will suffice!” She declared confidently. Ally wore the UA Athletic joggers with a black tank top, her athletic jacket tied around her waist, her long dark red hair tied back in a ponytail. Rearing back her right arm, Ally slid back her right foot, her left foot crunching into the dirt. With a huff, Ally launched the ball far into the air, a slight breeze blew from the force of it.
“80.3 Meters” The Distance robot reported mechanically.
Ally smirked with satisfaction, some of the students gawked in shock, this was her normal strength? Caesar rolled his eyes, He’d only get a few more meters through using his real quirk, using it to push it a little. Their Quirks, Vampirism; With enhanced physical and mental strength, weaker during the day and potentially greater strengths at Night, Ally and Caesar also have a special addition to their base Quirk. Their Father was the Original Vampire, The Dracula Hero, Dra-Cool. He was once a Top Five Pro Hero, and Number One for Heros who could be Villains, Teppes Valentine.

The class went quiet, as Shiro stepped up next. He wore his athletic joggers and a black T-shirt, leaving his jacket unzipped. Suddenly a calming warmth passed over the class. A white heat radiated from Shiro as his hair and clothing started to rise. The white aura appeared around his head and shoulders at first, then came off like steam from the rest of his body. Taking a throwing stance, the ground beneath him buckling under the pressure. Caesar and Ally were wide eyed in surprise, unsure of what they were expecting to begin with. When Shiro finally threw the ball, the shock wave gusting a heavy wind on the class. After a few seconds, the Distance Robot beeped, “807.2 Meters.” Shiro turned to the class with a bright smile, his entire expression was genuine, “Everyone’s doing their best, keep up the hard work, Alright!” He said cheerfully with a thumbs up. Caesar sighed and went up next, mimicking Ally’s throw, except applying his special ability. Telekinesis, Caesar’s secondary quirk, able to lift and control objects with his mind. “206.5 Meters.” Caesar shrugged, “Well that was my limit on range, oh well.” Ally huffed feeling ashamed to be best by her older twin, even if his secondary was better suited.

Icarus raised an eyebrow at Shiro after his performance. ‘That kid definitely has the power and mentality of a pro-hero.’ He thought to himself, actually feeling a little excitement at some of the talent so far. He cycled through most of the class until there were only two students remaining. “Okay and the last two for this event will be Castor and then Apollo.
Castor stepped up to the weighted ball before stopping about a yard away. “Alright, I think I have an idea of what to do here.” He said with an innocent grin. He had an attitude that he was just excited to be apart of it all. “Here goes.” He stomped on the ground with his left foot as a spear of rock shot out of the earth propelling the ball directly at him, with his right hand he delivered a powerful punch with a fiery explosion that blasted the ball high into the air. Not skipping a beat he delivered a follow up punch with his left hand that sent a powerful controlled burst of wind that propelled the ball even further. After a brief pause the machine called out. “199.7 meters” spinning around on his heel he shrugged at Caesar. “Guess you have me beat!” He said congratulating him.
Apollo wasted no time walking up to the plate. He wore the traditional athletic joggers with a form fitting black tank that showed his chiseled physique. He had handed his jacket off to Noctis before walking off. Apollo had heard a few of the girls commenting on his looks as he walked past but he paid them no attention. Without saying a thing he clenched his fists as a dark purplish aura enveloped his body causing the ground around him to erupt, his purple eyes no glowing brightly through the aura. Icarus noted the destruction was clearly for show as he noticed the subtle controlled burst of energy sent through his feet. He marked it as an intimidation technique for the other students. Apollo held the ball in his right hand as he used his left hand to support the arm. A dark explosion erupted from his hand sending the ball screaming through the air out of sight causing a scar of earth about twenty yards before it reached a high enough altitude. Some time passed before the machine finally called out the last number. “863.6 meters.” Apollo dispelled his aura before walking back to rejoin the group, satisfied with his score. He paused in front of Noctis holding out his hand for his jacket back.
Icarus looked at Apollo and then to Shiro, both of which were several steps ahead of most of their classmates. He had a feeling he would have his hands full with them. “Good effort class, let’s move on. Follow me.”

Noctis gave a thumbs up, “Dang man that was huge!” Caesar and Ally glanced at each other, understanding a little more about Apollo now. Suddenly there was a spike of tension in the air, as Shiro stood before Apollo with his hand out, “Well done Friend, you shot the ball right out of the park, friendly competition really does help us become better.” Shiro spoke kindly as he smiled warmly, a genuine gesture of friendship, with no ill will existing. Caesar saw the scene like Light and Darkness, colliding in a magnificent split of two opposite forces. He’d almost forgotten Castor’s words to him, “Yeah... close one...” He replied simply.

Apollo stopped as Shiro blocked his path. Looking down at his hand and back up at him. “You have power, I respect that. No doubt you’ll be a pro-hero someday with that attitude.” Apollo grabbed his hand. Simultaneously both of their auras exploded out giving a devastating contrast of light and dark energies. As the auras collided sparks shot out from their hands causing the other students to step back. “However, I’ve done nothing to give you the idea that we are friends.” Apollo said darkly before he dropped his hand and dispelled his aura, walking off to follow Icarus. Castor appeared by Shiro’s side. “Well that was harsh, so when do you think he’ll show us what his power limit is?” Castor asked seriously. Kairi overheard the conversation and chimed in. “What do you mean didn’t he just show us.” She asked. “No he didn’t, look closely at his face next time he competes. There was no sign that he was exerting himself at all. I believe he purposely held back to not put himself too far above us. Just a thought though.” Castor explained eagerly alerting everyone to his observant nature.

Shiro smiled the entire time, seemingly unphased by the reaction, “He seems like a decent fellow, quite a grip he has.” He said briefly before continuing on with the rest of the class. Caesar passed by Castor with a chuckle, “You think Shiro was using his limit?.” Ally skipped by with a giggle, “This class is gonna be fun. Come on Kairi! Lets go!” She said taking Her by the arm and following the rest of the class.

Noctis caught up to Apollo, “Shiro sure is a bundle of smiles isn’t he?”

Kairi was pulled along looking back at no one in particular with a face that clearly said “help”.

Apollo looked at Noctis studying him before a releasing a small sigh. As if accepting the fact that Noctis would be around. “It’s unnatural, we’ll see the true him soon enough.” Apollo responded simply.

Icarus called the class into order as the next event began. In the field before them was a typical long jump sand pit except for one major difference. This sand pit was the length of a football field. His instructions had been simple. Jump as far as you can with no power restrictions. Castor was up first. He followed a similar style to his baseball strategy but instead of propelling a ball. His body was propelled by the earth high into the air, once at the peak of his launch Castor used his control over the wind to glide down landing softly on the other end of the pit. After a wave he trotted off the wait for the others. “Noctis!” Icarus signaled for the next student.

Noctis slammed his fists together, excitedly taking his stance at the marker. Holding out his hands to his sides and slightly bending his knees, his fingers moved into pairs; index with pointer fingers, pinky with ring fingers. Instantly his hands up to his elbows turned black, appearing like a flexible black steel skin. Noctis grinned as he bent down a little more, then sprang forward with a forceful push. “12.4 Meters!” The robotic voice chimed as Noctis landed into a slide. Letting a few more students go first, Ally amazed, and slightly creeped out, everyone as she leaped forward turning into a swirling stream of blood-like liquid. Clearing a large distance, landing swiftly at the halfway mark. Caesar stepped up casually, “Give it my best.” He said briefly before leaping forward, landing just a few meters ahead of Noctis. Shiro clapped his hands, like he had done for everyone that went before, “Well done Caesar!” He cheered happily, smiling earnestly.

Apollo pushed his way past the next student that was called. One with a quirk that had transformed the child’s entire features. No sooner than stepping up to the starting spot Apollo activated his quirk the dark aura surrounding him as he lifted up off the ground and flew casually to the other side landing with ease. Nervous chatter spread through the crowd of students as the difference in power and ability became clear to a few. Kairi stepped up next hopping on a miniature tornado riding it over the sand. Shortly past the halfway mark the swirling storm dispersed and she landed softly in a mound of sand. As the other students went Apollo waited patiently on the other side watching intently.

Shiro clapped, breaking the gossip up, “Exemplary! Well done Apollo.” He congratulated gleefully. The student who was rudely cut, went during this, making it just a few meters. Next was Shiro, Caesar stood next to Castor, arms folded in anticipation. “I can’t fly, but I’ll do my best.” Shiro exclaimed before taking the plate. Bending his knees slightly, the white heat-like aura appeared again over his shoulders. Shiro then leaped forward, the ground shattering mere mili-seconds after liftoff, blowing back a slight shockwave. Easily passing the half way marker, Shiro started his descent towards the otherside, but he was falling a little short. Landing into a slide, Shiro’s momentum carried him like a plow through the sand, slowing down just enough that he simply stepped onto the grass and into a casual walk. Passing Apollo as he did so, “Ah well, couldn’t clear it, guess I’ll just have to get stronger huh?” He said genuinely, no mockery or competitive jibe, just a simple admittance to needing to train more. Shiro went to stand with Kairi, smiling and congratulating her with a soft pat on her heard.

On a rooftop near UA...

A speedster hero by the name of “Cardio” stood watch over the city tuning his headset in to the Police chatter. Two figures appeared behind him soundlessly a dark robed figure with their face hidden by a hood stepped away from the other hooded figure. Cardio heard the noise and whipped around. Before he could even speak a blade pierced his heart and a dark aura surrounded him as tendrils of purplish smoke began pumping into his mouth and nostrils. Cardio’s body convulsed and twisted at unnatural angles before he fell limply to the ground. Wisps of steam coming off his body. “Perfect, now let’s see what UA does with this.” The hooded figure said. The other figure stepped forward holding out their hand. “Well done master.” A wicked smile could be seen from under the hood as the man walked back and took their partners hand disappearing into nothing.

Back at UA...
Icarus led the class the the track. He felt like he had each student judged already but it was customary to do all three heats. “All right class, this is your last change to show me what you can-“ sudden chatter from the students caused Icarus to turn around to see what was causing the commotion. Down at the other end of the track he could make out a pro hero standing by watching them. “Well it looks like even Cardio himself is here to watch your race!” Icarus said attempting to encourage them. The hair on Apollo’s neck stood up. There was something wrong, but he couldn’t place it. Icarus took his place at the edge of the starting line. “No fights, I want a nice clean race! Begin!” The race ended before it began. The students took off, one of the kids with a speed quirk got the early lead but that’s when disaster stuck. Cardio had taken off at a blinding speed and grabbed the student by the neck, causing everyone to stop in their tracks. With no remorse Cardio twisted and everyone heard the crack and the thump as the student fell limply to the ground. Icarus sprang into action. “Code red! Return to your dorms! Apollo, Shiro, Caesar, protect your classmates! Ally, Kairi, alert the staff. GO!” The students all took off, Apollo noticed Caesar take to the front of the group so he fell to the back to make sure no one was left behind the last thing he saw was Icarus run towards Cardio before he had to return his focus to his classmates.

Ally grabbed onto Kairi and both took off in a red stream towards the school. Caesar slid in to the rear of the retreating students, "Did that just really happen?" He asked in disbelief, still wrapping his head around the horrifying event. Suddenly he paused, "Uh oh." He begin as he stared at Shiro, who was walking straight for the students lifeless body. Cardio ignored Icarus completely, rounding about and heading straight for Shiro. Shiro on the other hand, made no notion at defense and knelt down to pick up the deceased student. Cardio was within striking distance, when a bright golden ray of sunshine blasted him back across the field. Shiro walked out from the dust cloud, his expression seemed as lifeless as the boy he carried. Behind him stood a tall and muscular man, with long golden hair braided back and a thick hardy looking beard to match. "Well now, it would seem a once good friend has done something unforgivable." A bellowing voice boomed from the man as he took a step forward, cracking the ground beneath his feet, a golden aura shone like the sun itself. 'Anduin King, a.k.a. Golden Lion, the Sun Power Hero.'

Apollo stared at Shiro his first reaction of annoyance at the student walking into the fight. That feeling was gone almost instantly and replaced with that of respect as he recognized Shiro’s true intentions in retrieving the boy. Cardio’s body convulsed on the ground before it rose back to its feet. He was off again zooming towards Shiro. “Damnit, stay with the class.” Apollo spat out quickly before his aura erupted around him and he took off towards Shiro. Icarus intercepted cardio with his shoulder knocking the former hero of balance. Quickly Icarus removed a glove and touched Cardio on the wrist. “AAARGH!” Icarus yelled as he fell to the ground clutching his head. Cardio sped off again towards Shiro. A bright blast came from the Golden Lion connecting with Cardio’s knee causing a loud crack as the bones shattered. Apollo flipped in the air scooping up Shiro by his shoulders making sure not to cause the boy he held to fall and quickly dropped them off at the rear of the class. Apollo made eye contact with Shiro for a moment and nodded to him commending him For his heroism. “Noctis! Go with Shiro to the infirmary, now.” Apollo instructed. Frustration boiling up in him he turned to the rest of the class. “The rest of you GET IN YOUR ROOMS!”

Cardio’s knee began to release a purple smoke as her rose to his feet Again, making a move towards The Golden Lion. Icarus was on his feet again and threw his hands up towards Cardio. Strings shot from under his sleeves wrapping around the persistent former hero. “Lion it’s time to end this!” Icarus yelled as he began to twirl Cario around him picking up momentum. He let him go throwing him high into the air above Anduin. At this point six other hero’s had made their way to the field ready as support.

Shiro gave a simple nod in acknowledgement, following Noctis as they headed to the schools infirmary. Caesar approached Apollo, “He sure made a bold move, who else would’ve just walked in like that? Also, why didn’t he use his Quirk?” He asked curiously.

“I fully agree my friend.” Anduin roared as he charged in the Suns gleaming rays, “Cardio, this won’t kill you, but the pain will be something else.” He placed his hands in the sky, aimed at the deranged Hero. “Consider it part of your Atonement! Special Move, Kings Judgment!” Light blinded everyone, as Anduin fired a blast of Sunshine upon Cardio, burning away the darkness entirely. The light dimmed away, with Cardio’s body laying motionless on the field. Anduin stood firm, his gym teacher uniform burned away in some spots. “Secure the Grounds, all students are to be confined to their dorms, with Home Room Teachers on guard.” Anduin spoke in a deep tone, no longer the hardy man he was rumored to be.

Icarus knelt by Cardio’s body checking his pulse. Standing up in horror. “Anduin, he’s been dead for over an hour.” He said emotionless. “We need to take this to the Principal.”

“He was careless and put himself in more danger than what it’s worth, even if it was a heroic deed.” Apollo said quickly. “I’m not sure why he wouldn’t use his quirk, somethings not right... I’ll catch up.” Apollo said taking a sudden turn in the direction of the infirmary. He intended to confront Shiro, for someone who portrays the perfect hero he made a huge error in putting himself in danger.

“Indeed, there was an inherent darkness about him.” Anduin spoke sternly as picked up Cardio’s body, “An ominous time is upon us...”

Shiro sat by the bedside of the fallen student, a white blanket covering the body head to toe. Noctis stood by in the doorway, looking up as Apollo was coming towards him, “Hey Apollo, whats going on now?”

“Noctis I’ll meet you by the entrance.” Apollo said distracted. The School nurse was a hero who could heal just by touching someone, a skill that was paramount for a school full of young hero’s with developing quirks. Her quirk had its limits though and could not bring people back from the dead. “Move along students, back to your dorms.” she said in a saddened tone. Once Noctis was out of war shot and Apollo and Shiro were alone in the hallways he stopped and put his hand on Shiro shoulder with a slight shove. “Listen here. I know we are all here to become hero’s but there’s a fine line between heroism and stupidity. From what you’ve shown so far you don’t seem the stupid type so what the hell were you thinking why didn’t you use your quirk?” Apollo prodded intensely. He wasn’t sure what was driving him right now, could Shiro be so powerful that he didn’t even need to activate his quirk in a situation like that?

Only a few minutes later all of the head teachers had gathered in a separate infirmary room. The Principal stood over the body. He was a tall man dressed in a black suit. His hair was combed back and he was clean shaven. His bright blue eyes contrasted his dark apparel. This was the former hero Ajax. Back in his hero days he used his immense strength in the rescue division before retiring to lead the school. He had worked with some of the top hero’s to redesign UA’s hero program and was well respected for ramping up the program. “Hmm... this calls for dark times indeed. To think there is a villain out there with a reanimation quirk, is an unsettling thought. Icarus recount what happened when you used your quirk on Cardio’s possesses body?” Ajax inquired stroking his chin, eyes transfixed on the body on the table. “All I saw were horrors, the closest I can relate them to is demons which sounds crazy I know. Unfortunately my primary quirk was useless against him.” Icarus recounted seriously. “Anduin, what is your takeon the situation?” Asked Ajax.

Shiro seemed like he barely heard what Apollo said, his eyes were dull and appeared to look straight past Apollo as he looked up, “I couldn’t...” Was all he spoke before turning around and walking away.

Anduin tapped the table with his finger in thought, “His movements were unchanged, exactly how Cardio would have reacted normally. My Quirk was very effective against him, but that fact was paled. My biggest concern was Cardio’s tunnel vision at the Students, which has made it clear they were the objective.” He said intently, clearly still troubled by the event.

“Then our first priority is being reminded to us. Protect the Students at all costs.” One of the Female teachers spoke up with a smooth but strong voice. Zerra Sky, she stood about 5’10” with long dirty blonde hair and silvery eyes, wearing a white lab coat over a crop-top hoodie and joggers. The youngest on the board and the entire student body, but her reputation as strong Hero overshadowed her age of 24. Zerra’s Lightning based Quirk gave her a huge boost in speed and strength, and a terrifying outlook, especially to Villains she fought. Oddly enough she was the head of the Science department. “Clearly, but how should we respond to this? Our Staff could be stretched too thin, we might play into our enemies hands.” The quieter male voice came from the other side of the table, leaning back in his chair lazily. Drop Shot, the Mathematics Department head, dressed like a shady character wearing a dark brown trench coat, but he was otherwise a fairly handsome man. His quirk was a not known one, keeping it mostly under wraps, but he was skilled during his days as a pro hero.

“We will increase security. I will confer with the police to see if more heroes can include UA on their patrols as well as have teachers posted at the entrances. All pro-hero’s will have to present their I.d. Cards to gain entry. Thank you all for meeting, expect backlash from the public. Dismissed.” Ajax said with finality as he sat down at his desk reaching for a phone connected directly to the chief of police.

Sure enough Noctis was waiting for Apollo. The two walked a few paces behind Shiro all the way back to the dorms in silence. The events of the day surely running wild in all their heads.

The next few weeks classes resumed as normally as they could. The increased security issued by the school board seemingly was preventing any attacks. The students had been working on basic control of their quirks and the power gap between students was very slowly becoming significant. As with all things though there are always a few students who stand out amongst the pack.

There had been a service for the student who lost his life in the attack that the entirety of UA attended. The grieving family had no ill feelings towards UA and understood it was an act of terrorism. That hadn’t however stopped the media from shaming UA publicly causing the residents of the city to become disgruntled. The negative attention had led to a lot of criticism about the school and the safety regulations in place. At one point protesters had gotten so bad that the entrances to the school had been shut completely to keep out prying eyes and to protect the students from being caught on camera.

The 1-A classroom began to fill up with its students as the morning bell rang. Shiro took his seat patiently, greeting his classmates as they came in. Caesar and Ally waved their hello’s to him before heading back to their seats, “Man, that guy is always smiling, doesn’t his cheeks hurt?” Caesar sighed as he slumped into his chair. Ally shrugged, “I don’t know, kinda nice though considering all the gloom that’s been around since the incident.”

Anduin stood up from his desk next to Icarus’s, inside the Teachers lounge. “Time to head to class, think I got your homeroom class up next. Any I should keep my eye on?” He asked with a friendly nudge on Icarus’s shoulder.

A thin smile flashed across Apollo’s face in response to Caeser’s remark but It was gone as soon as it came. He was wearing his hood up today but sat up and took his earphones out when the twins sat down. He reached forward and flicked Noctis on the ear as a silent hello. Castor entered the room next talking with Kairi both greeting Shiro as they walked in. Castor went and took his spot by a few other students and Kairi took her seat next to Shiro. She turned and looked towards Apollo and the others and gave a little wave. Apollo pretended not to see.

Icarus stretched and pushed away the papers he was grading. “There’s a lot of talent in that room. They’re all fairly well behaved. Apollo Delphi is there and his reputation lives up to the hype. He’s established quite a rivalry with Shiro Karasu, overly pleasant kid who has built up quite the reputation. You’re a good hero to be teaching those two. They’re also the two who were there with us the day of the incident. The twins can be a little scary sometimes but I’m sure you can handle it. Good luck old friend, 1-a can get a little carried away.” Icarus said with a smile as he went back to his papers.

Anduin nodded and turned to walk out, a wide grin spread across his face.

Noctis turned around with a hardy grin, starting up a conversation about his usual wake up routine. Shiro greeted Castor and Kairi with a warm smile, turning around to give his hello back to the others as well. To Caesar it was like receiving a ray of sunshine to the face, Ally eagerly waved her hello back to Kairi.

Suddenly the doors swung open, and a tall muscular man stepped in. Anduin King, he was the Teacher who took down Cardio during the Incident. “Alright Students, head down and get changed into your P.E. Clothes, and bring your very best.” He declared with a glance at Apollo and Shiro, his interest peeked by curiosity.

In the locker, Shiro was chatting with some of the other students, giving them motivational advice. Caesar was tying the sleeves of his jacket around his waist, “Well this could be interesting.”

Apollo changed into his gym uniform, sticking with a black tank that fit his muscled physique. He chose a pair of joggers and tennis shoes for the rest and then went over the the weights section of the UA locker room to get warmed up. “How the heck is that kid so ripped, does he spend every second working out?” One student said to Castor and Shiro. “I overheard some teachers talking and apparently his guardian had him training with hero’s from the first sign of his quirk.” Another student said. “Well that probably means he won’t hesitate to put you in your place if he hears you gossiping about him.” Castor replied swiftly causing the two boys to move away. “Still must have been hard moving around so much.” Castor added to Shiro alone.

Kairi has just finished changing before walking over to Ally. “So Ally do you have your eyes on any of the boys?” She asked excitedly, blushing slightly.

Shiro didn’t even glance over at Apollo, keeping his eyes on Castor, “Indeed, and honestly I feel sad. It means he never got to experience what it’s like to be... just a kid.” As he spoke, Caesar and Noctis joined with Apollo, Noctis having chosen the gym shirt and pants. Shiro wore the UA gym shorts with a black shirt and long sleeve jacket, left unzipped. “Though it seems he has an ability to make quick good friends, wether he accepts it or not. Come,” Shiro started towards the doors, “Lets start heading outside to the field, I believe we’re on Field C.” Because of the Incident, Field A was still roped off to Students.

Ally raised an eyebrow and considered the question for a second, other girls leaned in curiously, “Hmmm, Not particularly just one. Hard to chose when you got Shiro, Apollo, and Castor all in one spot you know.” She explained casually, shamelessly admitting her admired marks. Then she smirked slyly, “What about you? Don’t tell me you’re too shy to admit that huh?” She inquired curiously.

Apollo set down his weights finishing his warm up. Caesar and Noctis followed shortly after and the three began walking outside. As they passed field A Apollo was reminded of the scenes that unfolded there. He made a silent promise to himself to become as powerful as he could be to prevent anything like that from ever taking place again.

Kairi blushed some more. A few of the other girls that joined in on the conversation were arguing about which one of them was going to be the one Apollo would open up to. “I think you’re right, it’s hard to choose...” She said shakily clearly hiding something. The 2 minute bell rang behind her. “We better go!” She added with relief, quite literally being saved by the bell.

Ally took a quick hold of Kairi’s wrist, her eyes narrowed teasingly, “Don’t think your safe deary, by end of this Class, you’ll tell me someone’s name.”

As the students gathered on the field, Anduin appeared in full Hero attire. He wore a full suit of medieval golden armor, with a red cape and fur lined color like a lions mane. His gauntlets had lion faces plated on them, and his helmet even looked like a lions head. Many of the students marveled at him with awe, his already massive stature seemed small compared to how he is now. “Alright class,” He started as he removed his helmet and stuck it onto his waistband, “Today’s P.E. will be a Quirk Power Assessment. To put it simply, use you’re quirk however you like to Hit, or effect me, for those whose quirks aren’t physically damaging naturally.” Scanning the faces, his eyes landed on Castor. “Castor correct? You seem a good starter, you’ll go first.” He said strongly. Caesar sighed as he stood next to Apollo, “I should have seen this one coming, of course Shiro’s expression is hard to read. What do you think, Apollo?” He asked carelessly, mentioning the bright boy with a smile on his face, as Shiro patted Castor on the back for luck.

Castor gave a thumbs up back to Shiro as he stepped forward. “I don’t think anyone here has earned my full power yet.” Apollo responded to Caesar mildly annoyed by the exercise. Castor took his place in a ready position. “Okay here goes!” Castor yelled to Anduin. He placed both hands behind his back palms facing back. A burst of wind shot out of his left hand propelling him forward. A second later fire shot from his right hand which was amplified by the wind, increasing his speed towards Anduin. He shot across the field in a blazing streak. Moments before reaching Anduin he touched the ground, earth shot out of the ground wrapping around his foot. A jet of water shot out of his other foot rapidly spinning him into a front flip. The boulder on his foot closing in on Anduin at a quick speed.

Instantly a strong heat radiated off Anduin, a glowing yellow aura of heat covered him head to toe, holding closer to his form. Anduin let the boulder hit him square in the chest, the rock shattered on impact with Castor landing just before him. “Well done Castor, a splendid show indeed.” He bellowed with praise, ‘He fully utilized his quirks abilities and went at me with hardest typing too, his knowledge and use of his quirk is already a cut above many in the class. He’ll be a strong Hero in due time, especially if he can master using all four elements simultaneously.’ He added in thought to himself. After Castor, other students began to cycle through, each showing where they could improve, but none yet surpass Castor.

Caesar had to admit he was slightly annoyed by the comment, Apollo was the lord of edge and pride, but he could at least show some interest or humility. Sighing in acceptance, Caesar folded his arms, “You are pretty unbelievable, you know that?” He said teasingly. Noctis stepped up, charging Anduin with both hands clad in his hardened black skin, his fingers held together so he appeared to only have three on each hand. Anduin admired the hit, having carried a lot of force, and something extra. Upon analyzing, Anduin guessed Noctis wasn’t aware it, hoping he’d learn it and master it soon. After Noctis, it was Ally. Her eyes focused with a predators intuition, then she took off in her liquid form, straight at Anduin. Within mere feet of him, Ally materialized to land a quick strike against Anduin’s sunny aura. However, Ally went wide as he sharpened claw-like nails burned away, along with most of the skin on her right hand. Ally steadily, she hid it away in her jacket and smiled up at Anduin, “Dang, I really thought I could’ve done more.” She said kindly with a bow and returned back to her classmates. Anduin had noticed it quickly, but from her expression and ease of the situation, he let her be and commended her with a nod. ‘The Valentine Twin’s, their Father was one of their Best NightShift Hero’s, perhaps even one of the Best of All. They strong during the day, but their true strength, was that of the Night. He was just a bad matchup for these two.’ He considered to himself carefully, knowing he still had Caesar to test.

Ally approached Caesar and Apollo, still keeping her hand in her jacket, but every now and then her right arm would twitch. Caesar smirked, “Hows the hand?” He asked slyly. Ally frowned, “Hurts, thank you. I’ll be fine, just give it some time.” She said more shakily as she slowly pulled her hand out, revealing the severity of her wound. “Raw Sunlight, jeez that stuff really hurts.” As she spoke, her wound started to let off a little steam, very slowly her skin began to grow back centimeter by centimeter.

Kairi stepped up next timidly. After the go ahead from Anduin the wind around Kairi began to pick up rapidly causing the students to take a step back. She slowly began to rise off the ground as the cyclone intensified. Apollo caught glimpse of a determined smile before Kairi disappeared. Kairi let herself fall into the wind current, which slingshot her out at a blinding speed at Anduin. She reared back into a punch which was deflected easily by the pro hero.

Apollo glanced at Caesar for a moment realizing he had been misunderstood. He almost spoke to correct the confusion but thought better of it. He wasn’t here to make friends. He was here to become a hero so that he didn’t have to sit around and watch death anymore. He wasn’t going to show off something now that could give him the upper hand in the sports festival. “You’re up.” Was all that he decided on to his classmate. He then turned to Ally. “None of the other students here are made of sunlight so you shouldn’t run into that problem in the sports festival.” Apollo said to her. Castor overheard Apollo and couldn’t tell if it was a dig or if he was reassuring her.

Anduin was surprised by the strategy of Kairi’s move, but he even more so by her follow up, to which he responded simply by catching her fist and setting her down gently. ‘She’ll catch on soon enough’, He thought to himself kindly. Shiro high fived her with a bright smile, “Well done Kairi, that was magnificent! I can see you’re getting stronger every week!” He told her confidently.

Caesar sighed indifferently, “Geez Sis, you should have been more cautious about it.” He said as he walked up. Ally moved her fingers around, grumpily mumbling curses, “Guess I’ll just have to find another way then.” She said finally as she clinched her fist with determination. Caesar smirked with pride, “Yeah, that’s the spirit!” His eyes went wide with a threatening intent, zipping forward up to Anduin and thrusting his hands forth. They stopped just inches from Anduin, releasing a telekinetic force wave upon the Teacher with great power. Anduin braced as much as he did for Castor and Noctis, admiring the Valentine Kid’s unique approach. His telekinetic prowess kept the heat off him, and allowed him to be closer to his target to apply more force. Caesar stepped back shortly after, sighing in his original stature, “Dang, thought I had you there. You’re tough Mr. King.” Anduin smiled proudly, “I appreciate that Caesar, you did well, I know He’d be proud. Both of you.” He replied in kind. Ally smiled at the mention, the siblings felt empowered by the words. Caesar walked back to Apollo with his chin high, “Careful or I might just pass you up, Apollo.” He said slyly, half joking, half challengingly. Shiro was giving Caesar a thumbs up from afar, the Valentine boy feeling somewhat dissed by the heartfelt gesture.

Apollo’s mouth twitched to a smirk at the challenge of Caesar. “Well I’ll have to give it just enough to show you that you have some growing to do.” He remarked walking away. He was starting to enjoy the competition of some of the students with powerful quirks. Especially if it was his power pushing them to do better. No hero should ever settle and stop trying to improve. Apollo walked over to Shiro with his hands in his pockets completely serious once again. “If you can’t top this, then I’m done wasting my time with you as a rival.” Apollo said coldly, analyzing the smiling student. With a single bound Apollo leaped over to an area about 15 yards away from Anduin. “Mr. King, this should be enough to make you sweat a little bit, but I’m afraid you’re going to have wait along with the others to see what I can really do.” He said coldy, silently hoping the Pro-hero would understand his true intentions. His dark purple aura erupted around him. With one step Apollo shot towards Anduin as a small shockwave buffeted some of the students in the front of the group. Kairi stumbled backwards into Castor who helped her regain her balance. As Apollo closed in He reared back his right arm as his aura began to glow a little brighter around his clenched fist. With no intention of avoiding Anduin’s defense he delivered a powerful punch to the hardy man.

Shiro kept a smile, but his eyes glanced at Apollo with a keen interest. When Apollo took off, he braced the shockwave with ease. Anduin raised an eye, but as Apollo closed the distance quickly, he crossed his forearms and blocked the punch. Immediately the grass on either side of him was ripped up from the ensuing shockwave, Anduin put more of his sun power into hold into his stance than any student before Apollo, bracing his legs better as they slightly dug into the ground. ‘This wasn’t his full? Well geez kid, teasing me with this? I can’t wait to earn you in earnest.’ Anduin smirked to himself as he broke the punch off, letting Apollo glide back easily. “Well done Apollo, fair to say that was the greatest hit today.” He commended fairly, some of the class clapped mellowly, others groaned from the competition. Suddenly the class went quiet as Shiro stepped forward, the white aura already radiating off his shoulders. Passing Apollo, he held his right arm out, “It makes me happy to be considered a rival by someone as strong as you, I hope I can earn your respect and friendship, Apollo Delphi.” Shiro spoke genuinely as he passed by Apollo. Instantly there was a white flash, blinding the class, followed by a hardy grunt and loud clang. When the flash dimmed, Shiro stood firm, paused in his swing with his right arm. The sleeve being completely ripped off and gone, his right fist smoking a little. The dust cloud before him started to clear, revealing Anduin roughly ten feet back, the ground scarred from his feet sliding back. Anduin felt a rush of adrenaline, his eyes wide with surprise, ‘What was that? This kid just punched with everything he had, and forced me back? Not since my younger years, not since... Him...’ Anduin moved his down and stood up straight, glancing between Apollo, and the Kind Boy who now stood up straight with a calm smile. ‘These two...’

Caesar was impressed by Apollo’s strength, admitting He had the power to back it up. Now he stood with Ally and Noctis, wide eyed in shock at the Student who just forced Golden Lion back from his original spot. The rest of the class was speechless, until they erupted with cheer, running over to Shiro with words of praise. Shiro smiled and nodded as shook hands with his fellow classmates, and for some reason, Shiro now seemed even more powerful than before. Anduin let out a sigh of relief, glad Shiro went last, and thankful for Apollo not taking it seriously.

Caesar walked up to Apollo and swatted him on the back, before Noctis came over and attempted to jump on to Apollo. “So you lost, cheer up, get him back next time.” Caesar encouraged loftily, guessing Apollo didn’t really need to hear the words.

Apollo sidestepped casually causing Noctis to go sailing by him. He put his hands behind his head and studied Shiro from afar silently taking notes. “To be quite honest with you Caesar, this might be the the most fired up I’ve been since I stepped onto UA campus. The kid is annoying as hell but he’s got some power. Seems this year might be more exciting than I thought it would be.” Apollo said in his usual tone. There was a hint of excitement in his voice for the first time. “Let him have it, he’ll know his place after the Sports festival.” He said the rude comment reflexively, realizing he was letting his walls down.

The classes finished a few minutes later and the students all made their way to the showers and then on to continue their daily routine.

A few days later the students all took their seats as Icarus came into the room. “Good morning 1-A. As you know at the end of the week the Sports festival will begin. The details of the festival change every year and there’s nothing more I can do to prepare you for the trails that are about to unfold. Every lesson you have had up until now is all the preparation you will receive... let’s hope you were taking it seriously. I have high hopes for my home room and you don’t want to let me down.” Icarus spoke and with his last statement he delivered an intense stare to the class as a whole. Kairi shivered at the look. “He really can be scary when he wants to.” She said to Castor and Shiro. Castor nodded instantly in agreement looking a little pale himself. Apollo leaned back in his chair in the back of the classroom. “Did he really just start the class saying he’s not going to teach us anymore, what game is this?” He asked to his group.

“I think He just really wants us to do our very best, so lets do our best.” Shiro told them encouragingly with his usual smile.

Noctis groaned, “I don’t know, but come on man, did you really have to dodge me? I’m still cleaning dirt from my teeth.” After Apollo had sidestepped his attempted hug a few days ago, Noctis had went face first into the grass, getting a mouthful of dirt. Caesar shrugged, “Probably about anything pertaining to the Sports Festival itself, I doubt we’ll get out of our core classes.” He said as he slumped onto his desk, looking a little less enthusiastic than normal, and paler. Ally just had head on the desk with her hair sprawled out, she especially looked more than just tired.

“As I was saying...” Icarus continued, signaling the class to cut their side conversation short. “We will be doing something other than hero studies today. Today we will be voting for our Class president and Vice President. It is entirely up to each and every one of you to make this decision. These people will be the face of your class, they will also be responsible in helping decided punishments on the honor council should any of you step out of line.” Icarus spoke as he passed out ballots to the students. He paused when he reached Caesar and Ally. “You two sure do look lively today. You have a visitor on their way to the infirmary, please cast your votes and please head that way.” Icarus finished and took a seat back at his desk rubbing his temples.

Caesar and Ally both groaned their acknowledgements, dizzily writing their responses. As Ally went to get up, she missed her hand placement on the desk, and went straight to floor. Noctis made a stifled laugh, holding his hands to his face to keep from laughing out loud. Caesar sighed as wrote his choices down, “Excuse me Sensei, could we have some assistance making it there?” He asked tiredly, Ally made a whiny sound in compliance.

Shiro looked down at the ballot, then calmly wrote down his choices. The rest of the class seemed to write their choices quickly, a few taking their time to choose.

Apollo quickly wrote down two names and exited his desk. He knelt down throwing ally’s arm over his shoulder. He easily supported her weight. “I’ll go, enjoy your debate.” He said as he carried ally across the room and out the door followed by Caesar. When they were in the privacy of the hall way Apollo broke the silence. “You need blood don’t you?” He asked as if realizing just In that moment.

As soon as the three students left the room the classroom erupted with kids spouting off opinions about who should be class rep. Many people spoke for Shiro and a few even for Castor. Castor politely declined any votes for him and believed Shiro was the true fit for rep. Icarus picked up Apollo’s and the twins’s sheets and glanced down. He had to admit he was surprised Apollo voted for Kairi as class rep. But the fact that he chose Shiro as runner up was the true mystery. Kairi suggested Shiro and Apollo to the class but many people shot down Apollo for his attitude. “Hurry up please and pass your votes forward so I can read off the results.” Icarus instructed hurriedly.

Caesar sighed solemnly, “Our Quirk is considered OP by normal standards, naturally our five senses, and every attribute is increased as if we are using multiple quirks. Though it comes with a side effect, we can consume regular food, but our true life sustaining substance is Blood. Technically we can get it ourselves, however our Father forbid us from ever taking Blood from another living. Our Guardian, and former Side Kick to our Father, uses his connections to obtain us Blood from Hospitals. We had to have a long talk with the Schools Nurse when applying here.” He asked explained at length, taking up the time it took to reach the Nurses office. Already, both of the Twins could smell a familiar scent.

Shiro smiled and thanked those who voices their approval of him, “I appreciate the sentiment, but we should let the Class as a whole decide, to make this fair.” He told them kindly. Turning to Kairi and Castor, he gave them both approving nods, for on his ballot was them. The Class settled down, having turned their Ballots into Icarus for him tally.

As the Valentine twins and Apollo approached the room they were instructed to go to, they could hear voices from within. The woman’s was aggravated and the man had a calm professional tone. “Nurse, I assure you just because I work for the police does not mean I’m here for an inspection.” The man said reassuringly. “Oh sure, that’s what they all say. Now that mishap with the files was the previous nurse so don’t even start with me. I’ll be back in ten minutes so do what you have to do before I need this room.” The nurse said hurriedly as she emerged from the room muttering to herself. She didn’t even acknowledge the students as she passed them. As the three entered the room Apollo recognized the man almost immediately. “Ah twins hello, it’s great to see you in person again. Video calls just aren’t the same.” The man said as he greeted the twins. He gave Ally a brief hug and settled with a pat on the shoulder to Caesar. “Who’s your frie- oh.. Apollo Delphi, I don’t know if you remember me but my name is-“ Apollo interrupted. “Triton, you’re the Police commissioner. You visited my aunt often about the case on my mother’s murder and fathers disappearance. So you’re their guardian as well?” Apollo asked shifting the attention back to the kids. He realized that was the first time he had mentioned his parents to anyone, he trusted that the twins had their guardians sense of confidentiality.

A few minutes had passed and the debates had died down in the room. Icarus set down the freshly tallied stack of ballots on his desk. The students never failed to surprise him year after year with how passionate they were about the elections, well maybe except for Apollo. “Alright class, your new runner-up to the class Rep position is Kairi and your new class rep is Shiro!” The class cheered minus a few grumbling students. “Now remember these positions are a privilege and you are representing your class, as for the rest of you please give your reps the respect they deserve. Dismissed.” Icarus warned as the bell rang signaling the end of class. Kairi packed up her bag as she and Shiro received several high fives and words of encouragement. “Great job Shiro! I can’t wait to work with you!” She said grinning widely. Castor offered his congratulations to the both of them as well.

Ally relished the hug lazily, while Caesar remained emotionless to his Guardians touch, choosing to slump into a chair. “Great, saves the time from introductions, and we can share stories later.” He said tiredly. Ally sniffed, smelling the packets in her Guardians possession, her mouth watering. “Yaaaassss OMG I’m so hungry!” She expressed with a loopy tone before stumbling face first onto the infirmary bed.

Shiro shook hands with Kairi, “I appreciate it, I look forward to our partnership, let’s do our best. Together!” He told her warmly, glancing to Castor, “You too, you’re support will be need as well. Everyone’s support together will help us all reach new heights.” He said encouragingly.

Triton laughed nervously at the sight of Ally. “Yes, indeed I am.” He answered to Apollo. “Maybe I should’ve come sooner, you seem to be hungrier than anticipated. Here.” Triton pulled two pouches from a case on the bed and handed them to the twins. “Here is some O- to tide you over and bring you back to yourselves. I left some O+ with the nurse should you need to replenish quicker for the sports festival.” Triton explained. Apollo turned and headed for the door. “I’ll leave you to business. Caesar, Ally, I’ll be outside.” Without another word Apollo disappeared out the door. Triton studied the boy as he left. “It’s nice to meet your friends! I’m sure Apollo is grateful to be around kids his age.” Triton said to the twins.

Ally was too preoccupied to notice anything else, she started suckling on the blood pouch vigorously, her eyes sparkling with glee. Caesar narrowed his eyes as he looked at the pouch in his hand, but he curiosity wasn’t aimed at the blood, but rather what Triton said about Apollo. ‘Grateful to be around kids his own age’. He wondered what that meant, but he held in his questions and starting drinking.

A good ten minutes later, the twins finished, rejuvenated. Ally hugged Triton tightly, proving she had her heightened strength back, “Thanks Dad! You’re the best!” She told him happily. Caesar nodded his thanks, “As always, appreciate the food.” He said simply.

Triton put on his overcoat and grabbed the empty cooler. A moment later his pager buzzed. “Seems that duty calls. I made the arrangements for some stronger blood to be sent over for quick recoveries during the sports festival. Good luck you two, I’ll be watching closely as well will many pro heroes. Do your very best.” With a wave and a smile over his shoulder Triton disappeared out the door leaving the twins in the room alone.
The next morning the students in class in 1-A arrived to an empty classroom. On Shiro’s desk as a letter addressed to him and Kairi from Ajax, the principal himself.

Shiro took a minute to read through the letter, holding it out so Kairi could read along. After giving the class a second to get into their seats, Shiro stood at the podium, “Good morning 1-A, I have been informed that our class gets the day off, and given an Off-campus pass!” He informed them happily, giving them a moment to cheer. “Alright, we’ve been given a 10 mile radius, with a few off limit area’s. Please split into groups with a minimum of three, write down the names and places you’ll be visiting. On the hour calls and or texts will be sent to myself or Kairi. Our report time back is 1800, again a text or call to myself or Kairi, upon your arrival back to the Dorms. Thank you.”

Once finished, Shiro stood patiently with Kairi as students broke into groups, giving them each a small paper with his cell and Kairi’s cell. As well as the Schools front office. Shiro had gotten told ahead of time, and already made plans to take Kairi and Castor to the nearby mall. Shiro did have to apologize to a few of the girls who asked him to come with them.

“Alright! Hey guys what are we doing?” Noctis asked excitedly. Caesar sighed indifferently, “Guess anywhere’s better than lounging around the dorms.” Ally wrapped her arms around Noctis and Caesar, a grand smirk spread across her face, “Lets go shopping! To the Mall!” She declared dramatically.

Apollo looked around very aware of the kids trying to listen in on what his group was saying. “Sounds fine, anywhere to get away from these people.” He said as he grabbed his backpack, slinging it over his shoulder. Already walking towards the door.

About an hour later Apollo, accompanied by Ally, Caesar, and Noctis arrived at the nearby mall. Apollo wore his cutoff hoodie with only one earbud in playing some unknown music. Typically he had both in shutting out the people around him but these few students had grown on him.

Ally lead the way, wearing tight athletic black joggers and a cropped red hoodie, her hair tied back in a long crimson ponytail. Caesar wore a grey t-shirt and black denim vest, he had a red and black camouflage tactical scarf around his neck, finishing it off with black joggers. Noctis wore khaki cargo shorts and a blue plaid button up shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, a plain white ball cap sat backwards on his head. Ally seemed to be taking them towards a women’s clothing store. Caesar was quick to notice, rushing ahead to grab his sister’s wrist and drag her away, taking the group into another clothing store. More suited to everyone's taste.

Nearby, Shiro led the way with Castor and Kairi. The Class Rep wore nice jeans with a plain white shirt and suit jacket, a silver necklace hung from his neck, holding a black feather. “It’s nice to be out and about. What should we do first?” Shiro asked kindly.

Apollo meandered over to the athletic section of the store and started looking at some new hand wraps, specialized for heroes in training. He paused as he watched a group of students pass by around their age. “Hey Caesar, look it’s 1-B. They don’t look like much.” He said studying the group before they were out of view.

Castor was wearing some slim jeans and a bomber jacket over a simple t shirt. Kairi was wearing a black crop top tank top and some jean shorts, she had a light jacket tied around her waist. “I’ll speak up if I see any shops I want to pop in, other than that I’m not picky!” Kairi said enthusiastically. Castor our his hands behind his head. “It just feels good to be out and about you know? After the incident it’s been hard to tell if we are being protected or held captive.” He said with a laugh. “Shiro didn’t you say Apollo was here with Caesar, Ally, and Noctis? I wonder what that group is up to, I don’t see Apollo as the ‘hang out with friends at a mall’ type.” Castor added casually making an observation.

Caesar barely made a glance, “I did a little snooping earlier this week, there’s a few that are interesting, but nothing compared to you... or Shiro.” He added cooly. Nearby, Ally was attempting to give Noctis a full change of clothes, some expensively edgy clothes.

Shiro smiled genuinely, “Yes, they are here somewhere, hopefully staying out of trouble. It makes me happy to see everyone making friends, without them, we can’t be the best of ourselves. Oh!” He paused and gestured to the smoothie stand ahead, “A good smoothie sounds fantastic doesn’t it?” He asked them happily.

Apollo finished checking out at the store tucking the hand wraps Into his back pocket. “That’s a shame I was hoping for a little more of a challenge. Let’s keep moving. Ally, Noctis, we will be outside.

Kairi made a sound of delight as she skipped ahead toward the smoothie stand. “That answers that.” Castor said with a smile and followed.

There was a moment of silence, before rumbling sounds of destruction took over. Nearby Shiro’s group, a wall blew out, with the ceiling above cracking apart as any metal was being forcibly removed. Out from the broken wall, a man nearly six feet tall with short jet black hair and metallic eyes, rushed out laughing maniacally. He wore a studded jean jacket and black pants, wielding a crow bar. Instantly the metal from all around him was torn from its place, and melded onto his crowbar. With the increased size, the Man lunged at a woman knelt over her young daughter, protecting her from falling debris. As the man swung wide, there was a brief flash of white, and he felt barely any resistance. To his dismay, his once massive metal combined sword, was only just to a scrap hilt. Thats when he noticed the boy knelt down in-front of the mother and daughter, his right hand held outward.

Shiro smiled brightly as he looked at the mother, “Everything’s going to be alright Ma’m, I’m going to get you to safety.” He spoke calmly, his level of reassurance causing the mother to simply nod her head in awe struck. Shiro stood up, holding the woman in his arms, with the young daughter in her mother’s. The Man was caught in a lull moment as he watched the boy pick up the innocent duo with ease, and started jogging away. As the Man started to move, he felt the ground beneath him shift, forcing him to stumble for his balance. “That kid, how did he stop my attack?!” He voiced angrily.

Passing by Kairi and Castor, Shiro paused, “Help with Evacuation, and do everything you can to avoid confrontation with the Villains. Castor, keep an eye out from structural instability, we don’t want the building collapsing anymore than it might. Kairi, set up an aid station outside and inform the first responders on site. If you see a Hero, inform them the enemy uses a magnetic type quirk to make weapons, and is extremely hostile.” He informed them quickly and kindly, his smile never fading. He turned his attention to the Mother and Daughter still in his arms, “Let’s get you to the nearest exit, no harm will come to you.” He reassured them politely before jogging ahead.

A few seconds prior, Caesar paused as rough sound of commotion came from outside the store. “That doesn’t sound good, come on you two!” He shouted to his sister and Noctis, their response immediate as they rushed to him and Apollo. The four of them arriving to see Shiro jogging away from a large man holding some kind of broken metal weapon. “We really shouldn’t, but I don’t see another option!” He grit his teeth with excitement, knowing they would get in trouble for fighting this villain.

-police chatter- “Bank robbery at the North Tokyo Mall, suspect’s identified as Magnet Sword and Roku, all units be advised suspects are considered Delta Level Threats. Proceed with Caution.”

“Noctis help with evacuation, you’re quirk is great for sheltering people-“ Apollo was cut off by another crash coming from the remnants of the bank. A heavy vault door came tumbling out crashing across the floor. “Hey Magnet sword snap out of it. You were right, the next shift doesn’t get here for a few more minutes. Let’s have some fun!” The man named roku said with a venomous voice. Roku was over seven feet tall with muscles bulging all over his body. He wore a tattered shirt and some jeans with a chain as a belt. Upon his entrance a bank employee tried to slip out from behind him.

“Caesar, Ally, you have this loser. That one is mine.” Apollo said as he zipped off.
Roku caught movement out of the corner of his eye. “Oh no you don’t you scum.” The large man yelled as he brought his fist rearing around. suddenly something clicked in the mans arm and his force multiplied preparing to decimate the bank employee.

A large thunderous crack sounded in the mall as the villain’s punch connected. Apollo had slid in just in time, His right arm covered in his quirks purplish aura catching the villains punch. “Get as far from here as fast as you can.” Apollo ordered to the man before standing up straight and putting his hands in his pockets. “Listen street rat. I’m going to give you one chance to surrender before I force you to. You have three seconds.” Apollo said with an intense stare as his eyes slowly began to light up.
Roku stumbled back a step with a look of shock on his face before realizing the situation. “Why you little punk let me show you what happens to heroes!!” Roku yelled as he charged.

Across the mall Castor noticed a crack in the structure that was spreading quickly. slamming his right foot down a pillar of earth shot out of the ground stopping the collapse. “It’s safe now, go!” He instructed to the group of people he was escorting.

Caesar and Ally nodded before taking off, Noctis made a quick salute and then headed off to help with evacuation.

Magnet Sword, a career villain and wildly know for leaving a path of chaos where ever he goes. His quirk is a form of magnetism, which allows him to magnetically bend any nearby metal, and form it into a weapon of his design. Magnet Sword tightened his grip, but as he started forward, two more children appeared in his path once more. “I’m really starting to hate kids! You wanna be hero's so bad? Fine, then I’ll show you what I do to Hero’s!” Magnet swung his broken hilt back as it vibrated, suddenly pieces of metal began flocking to him. Suddenly he felt something was off, his sword wasn’t getting any bigger. Then he realized all the metal was paused in mid air, “What the-!”

“I’m not entirely sure what you’re original plan was, but it can’t be good for us, so I put your metal on pause.” Caesar spoke confidently as he held out his hands, using his telekinesis to hold all the metal going towards the Villain. Ally then dropped low and shot forward, forming into her crimson liquid, zooming straight straight past the Villains head. Upon materializing, Ally spun around landing a heavy kick with the back of her heel, right on the back of his head. Instantly Magnet’s eyes rolled back, his mind going blank, ‘What is going on? Who are these kids? How am I beaten so easily?’ His last thought echoed in his head before he passed out onto the floor. Caesar moved all the metal and piled it as far as he could, “We should find something to tie him up, something with no metal on it.”

Shiro stood on top of a bench, directing the traffic of people heading to safety outside, “Please remain calm and follow the person in front of you, Please hold on to your children and family members, the exit is close by with an aid station set up in the parking lot!” He called out calmly and assertively, the warm white aura coming off his shoulders becoming a peaceful sight to people on the verge of panic. Nearby Noctis was removing fallen rubble from trapping people in a store, “This way, just follow the crowd, you’ll be safer outside.”

Apollo easily sidestepped another round of Roku’s punches. “You’re sloppy. It’s clear you’ve had no formal training. It’s a shame I was hoping for more.” Apollo taunted. Roku’s face turned red in anger as he charged. Apollo ducked and delivered a powerful uppercut that connected with Roku’s jaw, dislocating it. In the same motion Apollo turned quickly following up with a roundhouse kick that sent Roku sliding across the pavement unconscious.

Apollo rejoined Caesar and Ally just as the last of the people cleared out. “Wonder how much trouble we will get in for this.” He said with a smirk on his face. Just then a voice shouted from the entrance. “Get in gear because Overdrive is here!” A hero yelled as he made his entrance. Overdrive, the motor hero. The hero zipped over to the students on specially made boots with wheels on them. “Ah I see you kids handled this mess. With no hero ID no less?” The man thought for a moment. “Well rules are rules, unfortunately I must inform your school.” He said as he sent a message from his phone. Apollo walked over to where he stood and handed a business card over. “For the damages.” He said before he rejoined his friends.

A few minutes later a shuttle arrived to take the group at the mall back to UA. Castor, Noctis, and Kairi did not engage any enemy so they were told to head back to the dorms. However, Apollo, Shiro, Caesar, and Ally were all escorted to the Principals office. They were led into an empty office with four chairs position in front of a massive oak desk. The chair behind it was definitely built for a big man. After a few minutes of silence the door to the office swung open and a massive man walked in with a very stern look on his face. “Children, I am Ajax and I have the pleasure and burden of running this establishment. Well well, think we are bigger than the law are we? Shiro, Mr. Class Rep, care to explain the situation to me?” Ajax said in a gravely voice as he sat down, the springs in his chair clearly working hard to support the man.

“Yes Sir,” Shiro started as he stood up, his demeanor was relaxed and at ease. “When the first Villain appeared, he attacked a woman and her child, my first impulse was to protect. I own up to my actions, engaging the Villain only to prevent harm to civilians, then escorted them to safety without further confrontation. I then instructed Castor and Kairi to assist with evacuation only. However, I did not catch Apollo and his group before they took on the Villains themselves, although their actions were rash, I am sure they acted in a way that they believed was their best course.” After his calm explanation, Shiro then bowed at the hip, “I accept full responsibility for their actions, as their Class Representative.” He declared respectfully.

Caesar sighed indifferently, he knew their actions were subject to this kind of behavior, even if they did win. The situation could have been worse, which is why UA and the Law have such rules in place. If they had their Intermediate License, this would be a different situation altogether. Fact of the matter is, they broke the law, despite being victorious and the rescue of many civilians with barely minor casualties. Ally frowned and sat patiently, like a little girl who was being shamed for acting out in class, but it was all a ploy to get out of trouble.

“Caesar and Ally were acting on my orders, Noctis as well with the evacuation. I accept any punishment in their place. This was not an instance where anyone in this room was looking to use their quirk for fun. The villains knew the hero routes and chose to use that time to wreak mayhem. We broke the law to save lives. There must be a punishment, so be it. It should be mine alone to bear.” Apollo stated absolutely looking at Ajax the entire time. Ajax looked from Apollo, back to Shiro, and then at the twins. “Well the media footage and witness reports said you all performed admirably. Apollo, you may have been granted certain liberties with your experience prior to UA, but it was made very clear even with your record amount of recommendations that you would have to abide by the rules and get your license like every other student. One more mishap and I won’t be able to protect you from this law.” Ajax folded his hands and sat back in his chair, once again creaking. The sports festival is tomorrow and there are a lot of people out there that want to see you four perform. I won’t let you miss your chance to tell the world who you are. I will decide my final stance on this matter after the festival, rest up and good luck tomorrow. Dismissed.” Ajax said pounding his fist to the desk, shaking the room slightly.

UA Sports Festival: Day 1
A fanfare played as all the students participating in the Sports festival took the field of UA’s stadium. Thousands of people roared thunderously together in excitement. The stands were filled with civilian and hero alike. Countless hero agencies were here ready to scout out the next batch of students. “Welcome one and all to this years UA Sports Festival!” A voice boomed over the microphone. “You know me as the hero from down under... OUTBACK!” The pro hero Outback yelled over the mic. “Now you first years take a moment to get to know each other a little bit better because shortly I will be joined by my surprise co host! They will then proceed to explain our first event. Stay close to your seats ladies and gentlemen because in just a short while, the Festival will begin!” Outback finished before signing off the mic. The crowd began chanting U.A. drowning out any other noise in the stadium.

On the field Apollo was wearing his UA gym uniform like all the other students. He walked over to Ceasar, Noctis and Ally. “So were the entrance exams anything like this? I didn’t expect so many cameras.” Apollo said, staring unmoved by the crowd.

“Wouldn’t know, we came in the same way you did.” Ally responded as she tied her jacket around her waist, wearing just the black tank-top. Noctis shook his head, “Kinda but not really, we were split into groups of 20, then sent into a make-shift city environment to combat these robots with a point system.” He explained as he rotated his right shoulder. Standing still, with his gym jacket half zipped, Caesar’s ear twitched. “Not that you’ll need the heads up, but I think this year is gonna be a little different compared to years passed.” He said out loud.

Waiting by with Castor and Kairi, Shiro began glancing around patiently, before another student caught his eye. Giving a brief nod to Castor, Shiro parted from the group and approached the boy who seemed anxious. “Hello, you seemed a little troubled, everything alright?” He asked kindly.

"I'm doing ok, been better." says the boy. The boys name was Joki, he stood about 5'8 with an average build, brown hair and had a steam based quirk. "I was just thinking about our classmate who passed away." says Joki, as he wipes away a tear from under his eye. "I'm not sure if you guys knew this, but we were pretty close, we grew up in the same town, went to the same school and both decided to come to UA, he was my best friend." Joki, obviously shaken up by having to recall memories of his fallen friend, continued, "So I was just a little upset, because I know he would've loved to have been here with us, that's all."

A solemn frown flashed on Shiro’s face, before it was erased with a kind smile, “He still is, his memory lives on in You. You gotta become a Great Hero, for both of you. Say, you’re name’s Joki right, why don’t you meet some of my friends?” He asked warmly. To Shiro, Joki became a person of interest, someone he wanted to keep close. He already lost one classmate, He won’t lose another.

"Sure, I'd love to." Said Joki, hoping that this would be a good opportunity to making some new friends, since he hadn't really had a chance to make any yet because of the toll his friends death had taken on him. Since his friend passed only a few weeks into the school year, Joki hadn't really had time to make too many friends before then, and since then he hasn't wanted to talk to anyone, he would go to class and then go and sit in his room for the rest of the day. But now Joki has a ray of hope in Shiro, someone he can look up too and hopefully be able to call a good friend in the near future.

“You’re Joki right? Good to meet you, the names Castor.” Castor said shaking the boys hand. “And I’m Kairi! Are you ready for today?” She said excitedly as she gave him a wave.

Apollo observed Shiro and his friends mingling with the other students getting to know each other. He turned back to his own friends with a calculated look on his face. “Alright you three, listen up. I like you, for the first time in my life I haven’t been driven crazy by your presence. Although, Noctis, you didn’t really give me a choice. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that once the first event starts, that all changes. I’m here to compete and regardless of how I feel about you, you are my competition. If you’re smart at all you’d feel the same way.” Apollo said. His tone wasn’t condescending, but more as if he was issuing a challenge for his friends to give it everything they have, even against him.

Shiro smiled as Castor and Kairi introduced themselves, happy to see his already welcoming Joki in, not that there would have been a problem. One of the seeds of doubt for Shiro, coming to this school, was making good friends. Upon meeting Kairi, and Castor, his doubts vanished.

Noctis placed his hands over the right side of his chest, “Aww Apollo, you say the sweetest things.” He said, heartfelt. Ally looked at him weirdly with an eyebrow cocked up, gently she moved his hands to the correct place over his heart, without saying a word. “Thank you.” Noctis added in a whisper to her. Caesar shook his at the odd situation, “Don’t worry Mr. Competitive, the feeling is very much mutual. We’ll all be doing our best.” He said confidently as he folded his arms, giving Apollo a side glance smirk. This was something new to Caesar, someone to rival against besides his Sister.

‘I can't believe how nice they’re all being, especially since I just meet them. feels good to finally be meeting some new people around here.’ Joki thought to himself. "It’s nice to meet you all. Are you guys nervous for the festival?” Joki asked. As he nervously played with his hands.

Shiro shook his head, “Not a bit, I’m going in and doing the very best I can.” He responded positively, giving them all a thumbs up, with his usual bright smile.

Inside the commentary booth, Anduin snuck in giving Outback a nod, before taking a seat and quietly clearing his throat. “Hello Hello!” Anduins booming voice came over the intercom, being heard over the roaring crowd. “You know me as your Favorite Physical Education Teacher, Golden Lion! For this years Sports Festival, there will only be two events; An Obstacle Race followed by a sixteen spot 1v1 bracket. The first Sixteen Students to complete the Race will move on!” His explanation began to cause murmurs among the First year students on the stadium grounds, the events far removed from earlier years.

“Students! Please make your way to the track at this time. Ladies and gentlemen in the stadium today, pay attention to the stadium screens to see the action!” Outback sounded over the speakers.

The students all made their way out of the arena to the starting lane on a course adjacent to the stadium. Fans lined the streets and media were blinding the students with their cameras. As the students took their places Apollo separated himself from his friends and focused on the path ahead. He unzipped his jacket and dropped into a running stance.

Kairi wished her friends good luck before readying herself. Castor began a quick stretching routine before taking his own place at the starting line.

“Racers! Hurry and take your place because the countdown is about to begin! Be on your guard because you will face many challenges during the race ahead. Only 16 of the 43 students here today will be moving on, one wrong move and you could lose that chance! And now begins the countdown!” Outback yelled in excitement over the speakers. The students could hear the cheers from inside the stadium.

“10.... 9....” the countdown timer began.

“8... 7... 6...”

Shiro stood patiently, letting a deep breath, “My best, I’ll give it a 110 percent.” He said calmly. “Do your best Joki,” He started as he patted his classmate on the back, “A True Hero doesn’t give up.”

Caesar squatted down, his eyes turning into slits, letting his instincts take over his mind and body. Ally was nearby, dropping into a running start with one leg back and the other tucked beneath her body, he arms straight out in front with her fingertips barely touching the ground. Her dark blood red eyes forming into predatory slits, he fangs showing from her upper lip. Noctis took a fighting stance, “Alright! Lets rock this Stage!” He said confidently.

"5...4..."

Joki turned to Shiro with a slight grin on his face and said "we got this", giving him a thumbs up and a wink. Joki, was surprisingly not as nervous as he thought he'd be, rather he was excited to show everyone what he was capable of. He wasn't the most confident kid in class or the strongest, but if there was one thing that he believed it was his powers and the hard work he had put in to put himself in this position. ‘Ok time to show everyone what I'm made of.’ Joki thought to himself, as he closed his eyes and thought of his late best friend, ‘All for you buddy. Let's go!’

“3...2...1”

The sound of a gunshot unmistakably marked the start of the race. “AND WE’RE OFF!! Ladies and gentlemen don’t turn away because you won’t want to miss a second of this!” Outback yelled over the microphone.

Apollo leapt out a few feet in front of everyone immediately with a burst of speed. Waisting no time he spread his hands out to the sides of him. Apollo’s eyes began to glow amethyst in color. His aura engulfed both of his hands and shot beams of energy out to the sides halting the other racers start. Apollo continued on never looking back. Rounding the first bend Apollo came face to face with a 40 foot robotic walker. One arm had a set of cannons and the other had a giant hammer where the hand should be. Apollo charged in shooting two beams that tore through the chest of the robot. Letting his aura fully engulf him, Apollo shot off the ground and straight through the chest of the giant robot. Metal shattered and splintered out across the ground as Apollo emerged out of its back and continued flying a few feet over the ground. He outmaneuvered two of the smaller robots and smiled to himself with a thought. ‘Finally some action.’

Castor heard the shot and immediately saw a flash of bright light to his left. Reacting quickly, he slammed a foot down bringing up a shoulder height wall of rock and began forward. The beam easily tore through the rock and skimmed his shoulder causing a searing pain. “Cheap move..” Castor mumbled as he continued on already behind a few other racers at this point. When he rounded the first bend he saw chaos. Giant robots were engaged with a few students and the largest one lay in front of him with a gaping hole in its chest. Refusing to fall behind he picked up his pace. Looking past the robots he could see a purple glow already moving on. Castor used a spear of rock from the ground jumping high in the air landing on the head of one of the robots. Placing his right hand on the metal he began to use his flames to melt the circuits. Jumping off he landed softly with a small gust of wind and continued on.

Kairi was immediately pushed at the start, but it ended up working to her advantage because Apollo’s beam didn’t impede her path. She ran out of the confusion. A few of the faster students including castor blew by her when rounding the first bend. She had seen robots like these during entrance exams. She clenched her fists ready to get serious. As the wind began to gather up around her more students rushed by. Kairi’s feet lifted off the ground slightly and she began to pick up speed zooming through the legs of the robots. Once she was clear she landed with a tumble, quickly struggling to get to her feet and continue on.

"Boom!" and just like that the race was off, but before he could even take his first step Joki was pushed back by a wave of energy, luckily he had already activated his quirk, steam armor, which when activated allows Joki to omit steam from the pores in his body, this made it so Joki's steam pushed back agiainst Apollo's blast, so he wasn't affected by the blast nearly as much as the other competitors. "Not too bad, wouldn't expect anything less from him." Joki thought to himself. Leaving most of the competitors behind in the chaos, Joki rounded the first corner, only to come face to face with a massive robot, that towered over him. Joki took a few steps back, and thought "Ok time to test out what I've been working on." Part of Joki's training had been learning how to focus his steam into one area of his body. Though not profound at it yet Joki could use this ability to transfer the steam from his right arm and focus it in his left. So that's what he did. While focusing the steam from into his left arm he jumped into the air, cocked back his arm and delivered a huge to blow to robots right knee, causing it to topple over and break. Joki ran to the side of the robot, using it for cover, until he was through and onto the next part of the race.

At the sounding start, Shiro stepped off, activating his quirk to block Apollo’s beam momentarily to pass by unhindered. As he kept running, he noticed his right hand stung a little, his palm was scratched and sizzling, ‘Such raw energy’. He thought to himself casually. Entering into the Robot fray, Shiro kept a brisk jog, pushing any attacking bots out of the way with ease. “Well done Joki!” He called out to his new friend with a thumbs up and a smile. Just after, a robot swung in with a hammer arm, but Shiro’s head remained unpaused as he kept the same pace. The robot was left staring down at its crumpled arm, then was trampled by another student.

Ally took off in her bloody liquid form, bending over Apollo’s beam with ease and continued on. She was first to the robots, but forced to slow down as she twisted and weaved her way around the countless robotic army. For a few seconds she got turned around, then saw Apollo, quickly she veered to follow him.

Caesar had a pretty good idea of Apollo’s nature, from the starting line, he kept low and zipped right under the purple beam. Keeping his distance behind Apollo, he watched him take the large bot out, with no sweat. ‘Tch, such a showboat.’ He thought while rolling his eyes. After noticing the Steam-kid take out another large bots knee, Ceasar felt a shadow loom over him, another large robot. Halting his pace, he saw Noctis shoot past him and under through the robots legs, “Gotta be quick Caesar!” He joked back. Caesar ignored the jab and leaped up at the bot, with both hands outwards he telekinetically crunched the robots head in, then blasted it with a telekinetic push. As Noctis ran, a large shadow loomed over him, looking back he frowned in worry as he put his hands over his head. Caesar rode the falling bot down and jumped off before it crashed, “Gotta be faster, Noctis.” He teased back as he continued on. Two blackened hands ripped out from the robots core, and Noctis pulled himself up and out, “Yeah yeah, me and my big mouth.” He grumbled with mild annoyance.

“What a showing! Apollo making his own obstacle to slow the competition and leading the pack, no it looks like his attempt didn’t slow everyone! Ally Valentine flows on through with ease! Whats this, Robots have slowed her down! But Apollo Delphi of Class 1-A barely broke pace as he blasts his way through! Looks many weren’t deterred by the Bots, the Students plow their way through!” Anduin commentated the events with excitement. “Now hold on a second Outback, isn’t there a bit of surprise in this Race?”

“Right you are my friend!” Outback responded over the speakers. “This year we have four outstanding faculty members acting as obstacles in this race. As a matter of fact here comes one now. Put your hands together for your principal.... AJAX!”

The crowd erupted as the camera focused in on Ajax. The mountainous man flexed and his shirt tore into shreds. He was standing in front of what looked like a pre fabricated building that was down to studs. Ajax delivered a punch to a large cement pillar right behind him in the center of the building. He then proceeded to leap out in front as the building collapsed behind him. What was left was a cloud of dust and a large mound of debris that would prove tricky to climb to proceed with the race.

Apollo allowed himself a half smile when he saw the principal ahead of him. He allowed himself a glance back. Ally had been with him for a short while but now he could see she had fallen back a little bit, it was just him now. Turning his head back he was shocked to see Ajax already there with is fist mid swing. He was shocked that the big man could move so fast. Apollo, thinking quickly, deactivated his quirk and dropped from his flight landing in a somersault right between the legs of Ajax. Recovering seamlessly Apollo leapt up high then jumping again off a piece of rebar clearing the obstacle. He landed on the other side and pressed on.

Castor looked ahead and saw a series of things. First it was Ajax pulling a student of the mound throwing him into another student. The next was Ajax making a fool of a student that went at him head on. Ajax suddenly slammed his fists to the ground shaking the earth. Castor stumbled and fell to his knees. Cursing himself for being careless he got up and pushed past Ajax as he dealt with another student. He bounded up the debris with ease, using his power over air to give him boosts where needed.

Kairi had fallen behind rounding the bend. As she got to Ajax he was busy with a group of students struggling to get by. She was able to make it to the mound of debris and scamper up making up some lost time.

Behind Apollo, Ally swooshed around Ajax and over the debris mountain with ease, her gradually increasing speed kept just behind her friend. Caesar slid right under Ajax, and scaled the debris with a few high bounds. The Twins’ Quirk, Vampire, gave them enhanced physical prowess. Caesar showcased this as he easily scaled the mountain of rubble, jumping from rubble to rubble.

Shiro had kept his same pace, jogging right past Ajax and taking a single high leap, clearing the mountain of debris. Landing on the other side, Shiro went back to jogging on, “Wow, that was something else, glad Principle Ajax didn’t go after me.”

Noctis was running on through when yet another shadow appeared on him, putting his arms up in their hard carbonized quirk form, he was grabbed by a massive hand. Suddenly Noctis was flying through the air, right over the large debris pile. Blinking in confusion, Noctis glanced around, before crashing into the dirt.

“Woah! What a spectacular show! Our Principal may be a top professional, but he sure knows how to cause some mayhem!” Anduin commented proudly, then added with a kind warning, “However, will their next obstacle be any less?”

Up ahead on the track, with a large open dirt field, Science Teacher Zerra Sky stretched her arms with a smirk, “Alrighty children, time to experience a shocking trip.”

"The principle, huh? Really going all out this year I see." Joki thought to himself as he ran towards the mountain of a man, who was Ajax. By time he had gotten there Ajax's had already made a mess of the course, remains of the structure left everywhere. Joki's plan was to hide amongst a group of runners and try and stay out of Ajax's sight. This worked, until Ajax started running at the group of students and everyone scattered, leaving Joki standing there by himself, then Ajax grabbed his arm and through him into the pile of rubble. Once he was thrown into the debris Joki used his quirk to blow the wreckage off of him, after that he found himself on the other side of the chaos and away from Ajax.

“Wow, wow, WOW! Things are really heating up today! No doubt from here on out in this festival will only be more entertaining! It’s clear there’s already a handful of students with very promising quirks, I’m sure all the heroes watching are taking detailed notes!” Outback announced over the speakers.

As Apollo moved on the the next obstacle he could only see flashes of a figure followed by the flash of blue lightning. He was having trouble following the movements because of the tremendous speed. Thinking he saw an opening he charged in. The next few moments seemed to happen in slow motion. All of a sudden he found himself staring directly in the face of Zerra, one of the faculty members participating as an obstacle. After the split second of shock Apollo’s quirk erupted from him just in time to dispel the electricity that followed Zerra’s movements, taking no damage. He pushed forward at full speed.

Castor approached in time to see a few kids get electrocuted but also watched Apollo push through very effectively. Taking inspiration from him he used his quick to cover his body with stone. It slowed his movements a little bit but when he saw the figure flash in front of him, his plan had worked and the electricity couldn’t pierce his armor.

Kairi approached the next stage without any plan in mind. She could see what was happening but she had no effective way to pass through the blue lightning unphased. Accepting her fate she gathered wind around her using it to propel her forward. She hit the lightning and felt it jolt through her until she passed through landing on her hands and knees. A few students pushed past her causing her to dig deep and continue on.

Joki knew that getting passed Zerra would be tough, since her quirk can leave an electrical aftershock and his quirk conducts electricity, so the possiblity of him getting paralyzed was high.So Joki decided to turn his quirk off and attempt to do the same thing he had done against Ajax, hide within a group of students and hope to sneak by. Fortunately for Joki his plan went a little better than before, Zerra still attacked the group of students, but this time Joki wasn't the one caught face to face with one of his teachers, and was able to get passed her with no harm done.

Ally played it cool, continuing to speed forward and pass up Apollo, however her thought process went awry. One second she watched Apollo get zapped but kept moving, then she was face to face with Zerra Sky. The shock caused Ally to slow down, then she was blasted with electricity, just as she materialized. Falling on her face, Ally picked herself back up again and kept moving on, without using her speed form. This was something She’d never experienced before, someone was able to out match her in her speed state like that.

Behind Ally, Shiro kept a nice jogging speed, keeping his eyes forward. When Zerra passed before him, their eyes met briefly. Going back to the entrance exams, Zerra had read up about Shiro’s quirk, placing doubt in the way his quirk worked. ‘No one can possibly be so confident and positive when facing a challenge for the first time, there’s always a tiny sliver of doubt and fear.’ This was her take on the matter. However, in that moment of their eyes meeting, Zerra saw no fear or doubt. After she passed, Shiro took the full on zap, his faded white aura allowing him to keep his same pace as he continued on down the track.
Caesar approached with caution, seeing the blur of blue lightning, even his eyes couldn’t keep up with Zerra. Suddenly she was in front of him, his reaction time was just quick enough to place a telekinetic barrier, but not with having to come to a complete stop. After she’d gone, Caesar continued forth, then she was back again. Catching him off guard, too late to use his telekinesis, Caesar kept running as he took the electrical blast. It hurt more as he kept moving, his body wanting to stop moving and let the electrical current pass through, but Caesar persisted on. Noctis however, was toyed with as he kept trying to do the same but would fall down again and again. His quirk made him too much of a conductor.

As Zerra terrorized the other students, she thought about the only two to take her lightning head on without flinching. ‘Apollo’s quirk was more than it seemed, perhaps even to himself, and Shiro is too comfortable in his current state. They both have strong quirks, but this can only take them so far. They’ll hit that Wall soon, one sooner than the other.’

“What a show by the Lightning Beauty herself! Now the Students move onto the final part of the race! Perhaps my Favorite Obstacle!” Anduin boomed over the mic.

Standing beside Icarus, Drop Shot rubbed his chin lazily, “You can have the first one Icarus, since we don’t have to be so easy on them.” He said with a yawn. Drop Shot, his quirk; Vanish, Drop can completely erase his entire presence except for sight, however he still manages to disappear from you. Having been awarded numerous times for helping Covert operations with the Police, and often being called on by many Hero agencies around the world. His Hero name, Zero Sound, takes after his quirk. Thats all he states. Yawning, Drop squatted down as a purple aura approached them around the bend, “Yeah, this one’s all yours.”

Icarus followed Dropshot’s eyes until he focused on Apollo. “Gee, thanks old friend.” Icarus said sarcastically. He brushed his hair out of his eyes, waiting for Apollo to get closer. Apollo didn’t hesitate as he approached the field to his surprise land mines began going off behind him. However, he was flying fast enough to keep out of reach from any of the blasts. Icarus activated his quirk on Apollo trying to get in his mind. To his surprise he was greeted with a splitting headache similar to that of when he tried to stop cardio. Icarus dropped to a knee and Apollo blew by him with ease passing the finish line. Apollo immediately deactivated his quirk landing smoothly in a jog before stopping all together.

Drop raised an eyebrow, “So was that a freebie on your own student?” He asked curiously, estranged by the event.

Icarus flashed a concerned look. “We’ll talk about this after.” Clearly taken aback himself by what just happened.

Castor noticed a few kids dodging the land mines ahead of him. Using his wits he tried to navigate through the field only gong on a path where the ground was already disturbed. A student close to him set off a mine and he quickly used his control over fire to redirect the blast away from. Ahead of him was Drop. Castor prepared himself to activate his quirk but in the time it took him to blink, Drop was gone. Looking around in a panic Castor couldn’t find him anywhere. He pushed forward until he felt a presence behind him. Trying to counter Castor twisted around but before he could rotate fully he felt two firm hands wrap his arm and the world went upside down. Next thing he knew he was on his back. Realizing he was alone now, he got up and pushed on still a little dazed from Drop’s surprise attack. He managed to cross the finish line and collapsed into a seated position as he watched the next batch of students cross.

Kairi used her wind to carry her high enough over the land mines to the point where they wouldn’t detonate. However, she had used her quirk so much already she wasn’t able maintain it for long. As she dropped to the ground she tumbled and landed on all fours. Looking up she realized there was a pair of feet right in front of her. Suddenly her vision was twisted as she found herself in an open meadow. She stood up confused until she remembered about Icarus’s quirk. She tried to push on forward but the vision blurred making her drop again with a nauseous feeling as her sight kept getting twisted. After a few more moments she blink and found herself back on the field. Looking around she had fallen more behind. Wasting no time she called all her strength to propel herself forward with a single blast of wind. She tumbled again, but this time she was past the finish line.

Joki was hoping to take advantage of the contestants that were in front of him and follow the path they had taken in order to avoid as many mines as possible. This seemed to be working for him until he ran right into another student and found himself on the complete opposite side of the course he had thought he was on. "How did that happen? I could've sworn I was just over there" Joki thought to himself. Turns out Icarus had used his quirk on Joki to make him think he was running in strait when he was actually running sideways and Joki was to busy trying to dodge the mines to notice. "Welp not time to waste now." Then Joki again transferred some of his steam from one part of his body to another. This time taking it from his hands and moving it to his feet, giving him a boost in speed, and with this boost in speed he was able to outrun the rest of the mines and right past Icarus and Dropshot to the finish line.

Ally was just behind Apollo, using her speed form again to clear the mines with ease, bouncing around to preserve strength. Suddenly she felt something was off, materializing back, Ally found herself facing her brother. When Her brother started for her with a harmful intent, Ally panicked and shot forward in her speed form. In reality, Icarus had her entranced with his quirk, until Ally suddenly sped past him entirely and slid across the finish line. Breathing heavily from shock, Ally felt tense from the event, but gave a thumbs up from finishing.

Shiro continued his brisk jog, up until the mine field, to which he switched his approach to a more cautious. His quirk would have made the mines virtually nothing to him, but it wouldn’t be smart to look reckless.

Drop took notice quickly after dropping His tenth student, deciding to test Shiro’s limits. Activating his quirk, he appeared behind Shiro, placing a hand on the lads shoulder. Then Drop raised an eyebrow in mild surprise, he didn’t stop moving, and he couldn’t even indent the young mans skin through his clothing. Drop let himself be pulled by Shiro, his feet skating over the ground, all the while Shiro made no move on him. Releasing his grip, Drop stepped off and headed back towards the mine field, “Geez, these kids... If I had my usual tools, but I’m not gonna break myself trying to flip him.”

Caesar bounded across the mine field carefully, sensing danger up ahead as he noticed Icarus. However, his reflexes were still too slow, as Drop was quickly beginning the rotation of his whole body. Caesar could now fully sense Drop in every meaning now, and if he could sense him, he could take him. Even in mid air, Caesar kicked off from Drop, putting distance between them. At the same time, Noctis was charging Drop from behind. Immediately Caesar lost sense of Him, and he watched the Teacher easily dodging and take control of Noctis to his surprise. Drop full on used the already built up momentum and tossed Noctis right at Caesar. Grunting as they collided together, Caesar pushed Noctis off him just before they landed on a mine, the blast sent them in opposite directions. Noctis being pushed further back, while Caesar flew past Icarus and was able to land and roll into a fast run past the finish line.

A few minutes later, Noctis finally came crawling past the finish line, as the 16th contestant. “You all, ...really, ...really suck.” He huffed between breathes.

“Well would you look at that ladies and gentlemen! The race has now finished, marking the end of the first event to this years Sports Festival! As mentioned before only the first 16 students to pass the finish line will be moving on. Here are the students moving forward into the next round by order they finished.” Outback began listing off the names as the crowds cheers drowned him out. Luckily the display screens reiterated what he was trying to say.

1.Apollo
2.Ally
3.Brock
4.Shiro
5.Castor
6.Caesar
7.Tomuro
8.Joki
9.Hamil
10.Shia
11.Ro
12.Roddy
13.Solid
14.Sheena
15.Kairi
16.Noctis

“We will be taking an hour intermission to allow the students medical attention if needed and a chance to catch their breath before moving on. Please enjoy these highlights from our previous years to help pass the time!” Outback added before signing off. A few seconds later the screens flicked on and video clips of past students began playing.

As the time past the students that didn’t qualify trickled out of the stadium locker rooms and up to the student section designated for them to watch the final round. The remaining 16 seemed to all be focused on what was ahead of them. An eerie quiet settled in with the only sounds being cheers of the audience. The screens in the locker rooms showed the same video as outside. All eyes were on the screen when Deku was announced. It was footage of him as a child but everyone was fixated on the now number one hero who had been away on assignment for a while.

“Welcome back welcome back! Thank you for being patient, it’s now time for what you all have been waiting for! Our next event is a tournament between our remaining contestants! Our first round will consist of eight, 1v1 fights.” Outback sounded. The audience was surprised, normally they’re were more than just two events in the festival. “Now please put your hands together and welcome our first two fighters. Entering from the left from class 1-A is Apollo! Entering from the right from class 1-B is Tomuro! Let’s have a nice clean fight gentleman! BEGIN!”

Apollo found himself staring into the eyes of the boy from across the ring. “So what is it that you do?” Apollo asked disinterested. The boy called Tomuro laughed and crossed his arms defiantly. “Ill let you find out. You like to be flashy don’t you?” The boy chimed back clearly trying to mock Apollo. Apollo rolled his eyes and activated his aura just around his fists. Tomuro laughed. “You fool, now your power is mine!” Tomuro yelled before using his quirk to copy Apollo. Tomuros fists lit up until a second later a look of shock and pain crossed his face. He began screaming deactivating his copy quirk. His hands were steaming and burned. Apollo deactivated his own quirk and just stared at the boy. “Pathetic.” Apollo said as he charged the boy. Tomuro tried to get up but was still focused too much on his singed hands. Apollo delivered a punch to the boys chest followed by a spinning roundhouse kick that sent the boy sliding out of the ring unconscious.

“What an interesting first battle. It seems Apollo’s quirk was just too powerful for Tomuro to recreate using his copy quirk. That must be some serious power he’s hiding in him. Apollo will definitely be one to keep an eye on this tournament. All right! The ring has been cleared. Next fight, Kairi vs Shia!” Outback, announced.

Kairi won her first fight with little effort. The girl named Shia had a quirk that allowed her body to stretch and move like rubber. With a controlled burst of wind Kairi sent the girl flying out of bounds and it was time to move on.

“Joki vs Roddy!” Outback yelled signifying the start of the next match.

Anduin narrowed his eyes watching Tomuro get burned, his curiosity about Apollo’s quirk growing ever more.

Caesar welcomed back Apollo to their classes seating spot with a punch to the arm, “He was the one that gave me the most curiosity from Class B, guess that settles that.”

Shiro payed close attention to Joki’s round, proud that Kairi has grown stronger, remembering how she couldn’t control her wind when she first arrived.

Joki stepped up on to the platform and took a look around the stadium, in awe of his surroundings. He then peered across the arena to his opponent, who was doing the same thing. His opponent was a boy from class 1B, named Roddy, and his quirk allowed him to change his forearms into metal spears. They both looked at each other smiled, gave a slight nod of the head and then started, as Outback yelled out over the loud speakers telling them to begin.

Roddy started off the fight fast, charging right at Joki and taking a swing at his left side, Joki was able to move out of the way of his first attack, but wasn't quick enough to dodge Roddy's second, which hit him on the outside of his right leg. Luckily for Joki he had already activated his quirk, which softened the blow. Right after getting hit Joki pushed off of his left leg and jumped away from Roddy. Knowing that his mobility would be limited for the rest of the match, Joki decided to try something he had been working on. He started to release steam at an accelerated rate, forming a cloud around himself, this made it so Roddy couldn't see him, unfortunately for Roddy he was stuck on the outside of Joki's cloud, making him visible to Joki. Once Roddy realized what was happening he panicked and tried to rush into the cloud, but at this point it was too late, just as he was about to enter Joki appeared out of it and hit Roddy right in the middle of the chest with a steam boosted kick sending him out of bounds.

Facing Shiro in this round, was class 1-B Brock, known to be a timid person all around. At the countdown to begin, Brock immediately surrendered, “I can’t do it, I can’t beat someone like that.” He cried in fear. Shiro raised an eyebrow, but instead gestured to hold off on the winning announcement. “Listen, Brock, you want to be a Hero right? You came to UA to study how to be a good Hero, and that takes real courage. You shouldn’t give up so easily, a real Hero wouldn’t do that. They fight with all they’ve got, to protect the innocent, and defend Peace! Now come on, show me why you want to be a hero!” Shiro spoke up in challenge, his speech seemed to bring new life into Brock as he nodded along. “You’re right! I gotta give it all I can!” Brock charged forward, transforming into a large rocky golem. Shiro smiled as he prepared himself, “Well done Brock, I acknowledge your resolve.” In one hit, Shiro punched Brock clear across the stage and crashing into the wall. Reverting back to normal, Brock was knocked out cold as he was imprinted into the wall, but he was smiling with pride. Shiro was then announced as the winner.

Ally won her match with mild ease, her opponent Hamil could turn his arms into bird wings, so her biggest trouble was catching him. It took her five minutes before She was able to land a good hit on him, and she won the match. Noctis faces off against a kid who could harden his skin with Oak wood as hard as iron, their match consisted of them constantly hammering away at each other. Noctis won, barely, simply by hitting harder than his opponent.

Caesar stood with his hands in his pockets, mumbling about having to face his opponent, a girl named Sheena from class B. At the start, Sheena focused her attention on Caesar, with a crashing wave of force. Caesar recognized the feeling, she was a Telekinetic too, and not a bad one either. However, Caesar was stronger. Taking a step forward, Caesar pushed back with his own telekinetic force, causing a visible rift to form between them. With every step Caesar took, Sheena was pushed back across the arena, her forehead strained to keep up her quirk. Once she was close to the edge, Caesar shot forward and stopped just before her face, caught off guard Sheena fell back out of bounds. “You have talent, and you would have won, had your opponent not been me.” Caesar knelt down and offered his hand, “Word of advice, don’t think about it too hard, just let it flow.” He told her as he helped her up. Sheena still didn’t like loosing to him, but the advice he gave was helpful.

“There you have it folks! There is the end of round one of the combat trials! We have seen some incredible displays today so far, those moving on have no doubt shown why they belong in this tournament! It just makes me that much more excited for our next generation of Heroes!!” Outback blasted over the speakers.

Apollo confidently took his place on his side of the platform never taking his eyes off Kairi as she strode in. Kairi has the jitters about facing Apollo but was determined to do her best. There was a lot that she had to offer and was not going to back off until she has given it everything she has.

She called back to her conversation with Shiro, Joki, and Castor about her upcoming fight. Castor had instructed her to surprise Apollo right out of the gate to catch him off guard. It was the only way she could get him off balance to get a leg up. A drawn out battle would do her no good.

The bell rang and Kairi took off with a burst of wind directly at Apollo, who stood unmoving. As she closed in on him she noticed a raised eyebrow on his face showing a mild shock. Not letting it affect her thought she closed in and rather than throwing a punch she used another burst of wind to push backwards off of him, sending Apollo flying back, hands still in his jacket pockets. Apollo landed gracefully at the edge of the ring. He took out his hands and cracked his fingers. “I see you’re more adept then you let on. I hope you have more where that came from.” Apollo commended her. He then proceeded to break into a sprint running at her. Kairi released a swirling wind around her trying to keep him at a distance. Apollo slid to a halt a few yards away shooting Violet energy blasts from his hands stretched out in front of him. As the blasts closed in on Kairi she twisted her body around allowing the wind to pull her out of the way but suddenly she felt a burning sensation and fell to the ground clutching her steaming shoulder. As she got up to a kneeled stance, Apollo was already on top of her. She instinctively launched herself back with her wind but not quick enough. At the last moment Apollo switched from a knee to a kick and still managed to connect to her side. Kairi tumbled again as pain screamed throughout her body.

“Damn, this isn’t good.” Castor said to Shiro and Joki. “Anyone else feel like Apollo’s quirk is just too much? I mean flight, strength, speed, and fancy energy blasts? Did someone make him in a lab or something?” He added before standing up. “LETS GO KAIRI!!! GIVE IT YOUR ALL!!” He yelled as loud as he could. His cries of encouragement were drowned out by the crowd in an instant.

Shiro’s words from his first match rang through Kairi’s head as she lay on the ground unmoving. He had inspired his adversary into overcoming his fears and fighting even though he was up against a force that was unbeatable. It all came down to how badly she wanted to be a hero. Adrenaline coursed through her as she found her feet. The wind began to pick up rapidly throughout the stadium as she reached for everything she had. “Take this!” She yelled fiercely as she threw her hands forward. Blades of air began firing one after another at Apollo.

The first blade hit and Apollo felt himself buffeted back slightly and then the next and sent him back more. Shock overcame him as Kairi was able to summon enough force to move him. He crossed his arms in front of his face blocking the main force. Still he was being inched back ever so slightly. It was time to finish this. His purple aura erupted from him blowing a chuck of the cement under him away in dust. With his newfound power Apollo rushed Kairi, seemingly unphased but the wind now. He reared back and delivered a devastating punch to her gut. Immediately Kairi crumpled and fell as she lost consciousness. Apollo knelt by her for a brief moment. “You’re stronger than you let on. I didn’t believe I would have to use my power against you. For that I respect you.” He said to only her. After, he quickly got up and made his exit, locking eyes with Caesar in the crowds. The look sent a silent message, challenging Caesar to win his fight to face Apollo in the next round.

“What an exciting display wouldn’t you say Golden Lion? I didn’t know all of your students were capable of such power!” Outback asked, prompting Anduin.

Anduin folded his arms with a grim expression, “Often true power resides in those who are able to overcome such formidable obstacles, and even greater power in those willing to continue fighting, in the face of Impossible odds. Apollo is one of our Top first year students, facing those odds is a victory, in and of itself. These next few battles will surely show the hard-work these students have put into their studies.”

Caesar closed his eyes as he stood up, “You know what Apollo, you’re on.” He said cockily as he opened his eyes to their slit predatory state.

Shiro watched on as Kairi was being taken off the field by the medic team, every fiber of his being wanted to jump down there and take her himself, but he knew what that might cost Her after gaining so much admiration.

Noctis leaned in to Ally, “He could’ve pulled his punches a little bit right?” Ally shook her head, “No, it would’ve made Kairi look bad, I’m proud she was able to make him think twice about the fight.”

Caesar stepped out onto the platform, “You know, I would apologize for what’s about to happen next...” He started as he stretched his arms across his chest, “However, it should be Apollo, cause he got me a little fired up.” He grit his teeth and clenched his fists.

“5... 4... 3..”

Joki's demeanor for this fight had completely changed from his first, he was no longer in awe of the moment, but this time ready for it. As he stepped up to the platform the look on his face was one of intensity, no smile from him this time, he knew his opponent was a seriously strong competitor, so if he wanted to stand a chance in this fight he'd have to keep and maintain his focus. Joki, heard Caeser's trash talk, but decided to not entertain it, ‘probably shouldn't get him more fired up than he already his.’ Joki thought to himself.

"3...2...1 Fight!" Outback yelled over the loud speaker.

Joki knew that he wanted to try and catch Caeser off guard at the beginning of the fight, since in the past Joki had always liked to wait and feel out his opponent before making any possible reckless decisions, but he knew if he could get the jump on Caeser that it could go along way in helping him win this fight. With his first move Joki activated his quirk, ran at Caeser with a full head of steam, and once he got with in striking distance cocked back his left arm, trying to make Caeser think that he was going to try and hit him with a punch, but Joki instead tried to hit him with a right legged steam powered kick to his side.

Caesar took a defensive stance as Joki charged at him head on, seeing the attack coming from the right. It was close to the last second when Caesar saw the fake, with Joki making a move with his right leg instead. Suddenly Caesar drew up his left knee, blocking the kick, his ground foot imprinted into the ground from the force. Making eye contact, Caesar smirked, “For someone with little to no training, that was smart.” His words were quickly followed up with a sharp jab to Joki’s right thigh, just heavy enough to be a substantial pain. Ducking down into a spin, Caesar prepared to give Joki a heavy kick from below. The kick is from a Brazilian Dance Fighting technique, Capoeira, with this move being dangerous take head on. Caesar was attempting end this fight here and now, while Joki was in close quarters.

Shiro went wide eyed in shock, watching seeing crouch down like that, the realization hitting him like a wall. “Back up Joki!” He blurted out suddenly.

Ally gasped in surprise, wondering why Caesar would pull off such a move so soon. Usually her brother would like to, ‘play with his food’, but now she was confused. Was it possible that Caesar saw Joki as an actual threat? His speed wasn’t his fastest, so even if the kick landed, Joki would maybe have a broken rib at best. Still, Ally had to wonder if Joki was really that much a challenge.

Once Joki's kick was blocked his first instinct was to jump backwards to try and avoid any counter attacks that Caeser would try and make, and it's a good thing he did. "Wow! That was close. If that kick would have landed that would've been it for me. I guess the rumors are true, this guy packs some serious strength, going to have to try my best and keep my distance from here on out." Joki thought to himself as he moved back after just barley dodging Caeser's kick. Joki still trying to look as composed as he was before the fight, was clearly a bit shaken up after seeing what Caeser was capable of. Joki tried to think of what his next plan of attack should be.

“Joki has good instincts but he’s already let up. He needs confidence. Caesar is taking this seriously.” Apollo said as he returned to his seat between Ally and Noctis. He was watching intently carefully studying both fighters. “Hey Apollo, hows Kairi doing?” Castor asked over Shiro’s shoulder down the row where the students were seated. Apollo looked over taking a look at Castor and then Shiro. “She’s with the recovery heroes, I’m sure she will be back after this fight.” Apollo replied blandly before turning back to his own friends. “Well I’m convinced he’s emotionless.” Castor said throwing his hands in the air.

Shiro kept his eyes on the fight, only listening to the words Apollo said about Kairi’s condition, “Kairi’s a tough girl, she’ll pull through alright.” He replied to Castor, reassurance to himself and his friend.

“I think the threat lies within Joki’s ability for growth.” Ally started as she rubbed her chin, usually not one for deep thought, but she gets serious when her brother does. Like a Twin connection. “That initial move put him on guard, and then the fake to follow up. Even though he was faster, Caesar is cautious now, Joki might not get another opening again.”

Grinning wildly, Caesar took off in a sudden burst of speed, dashing side to side as he neared Joki. “You’re wide open!” Suddenly an outside invisible force kept Joki from making an instinctive move, and Caesar flashed to him with a palm strike to his gut. The movements were faster than before, and precise, showing Caesar’s capacity for combat. To follow through, Caesar took Joki by the collar, and rotated his whole body as he prepared to throw Joki towards the edge of the fighting platform.

“You’re right, Joki is growing even during this fight. I think he may impress us in the future. Caesar will pull through.” Apollo finished confidently. With a nudge of encouragement to Ally. When he did it he felt a weird feeling come over him, once again realizing these friends that latched on to him when he arrived were causing his walls to come down.

"Well this is it, it was a good run." Joki thought to himself as Caeser released him, trying to hurl him out of bounds, but to many's surprise, he wasn't flying towards the out of bounds, but instead right at Caeser and before Joki even knew it he was hitting Caeser with a kick to his left cheek. After landing the kick Joki stood in awe of what he had just done. "What just happened? Did I just kick him? I don't remember. I feel like I lost control for a second." What had happened was as Joki went flying towards the out of bounds line all of the steam being released from his body gathered to his back, propelling him towards Caeser and once he got close enough to Caeser the steam again moved, this time from his back to his leg allowing him to deliver a strong kick to the side of Caeser's face.

Ally’s jaw dropped in utter shock, Noctis had his hands on his head, eyes wide in surprise. Shiro tightened his fist into a ball, but he smiled with pride.

On the arena, Caesar remained motionless for a few seconds, his head turned to the side with a scuff mark from where Joki kicked him. All of a sudden, he smirked ever so slightly. A sense of dreaded unease fell over Joki, as Caesar turned to face him, his crimson red eyes shimmering with excitement. In the next heart beat of a second, Caesar was before Joki with a kick to the stomach, propelling him mid air. With a fast follow up, Caesar grabbed Joki’s ankle and slammed him down, creating a small crater. Then Caesar finished with another strike, except this time his palm stopped an inch away, but Joki was forced further into the crater from Caesar’s telekinetic push. Standing up straight, Caesar turned around and started off, a grim expression upon his face. ‘His battle instincts are far from polished, and yet, they are probably his most fearsome trait.’ Caesar thought to himself critically.

“What an exciting match that was. It truly shows the natural skill the next generation of heroes has! Great effort by Joki, I’m sure we all are looking forward to see his progress going forward. Caesar is advancing to take on Apollo!” Outback commented. “Our next round of the semifinals will be Castor versus Noctis!” He added, moving things along.

Kairi passed Castor in the hall wishing her friend good luck before making her way back to her seat next to Shiro who was now sitting alone. “Castor seems ready.” She said with a faint smile, still recovering a bit from her fight.

“Well done, that kid has some good instincts. I wasn’t expecting that of him.” Apollo said to Caesar as he came back to their seats. “None of that holding back against me though, I want your best.” Apollo finished with a smirk, friendlier than usual. Clearly the atmosphere of the festival was raising his spirits.

Castor readied himself before taking the stage. As he strode over to where Noctis stood he only smiled. “Hey man, let's do this and give them a good show.” Castor said extending his arm for a handshake.

Anduin chuckled loudly, “Hahaha! Indeed, Class 1-A has been dominating this year, showing exactly why they are placed in the top Hero Studies Class! Aren’t you Proud of your Students Mr. Icarus!” He boomed out.

Shiro nodded in agreement, “We should all be so excited to prove our worth, and show off our hard work. Speaking of, well done Kairi, you did fantastic!” He told her happily.

Caesar smirked, “No, I’m done with all that. I’ll give you all I have Apollo, you just be ready to accept what's coming.” He challenged confidently, reciprocating the friendly wager. Ally sighed, “Oh get a room already.”

Noctis shook hands with Castor firmly, giving a friendly grin, “Yeah! Let’s do our best, and have a Manly Duel!” He told him with a deepened voice. As the two students took their place on the fighting stage, the countdown began.

Castor backed up as the countdown commenced. As soon of the fight began he launched a fireball from his right hand. The blazing sphere streaked across the battlefield towards Noctis’s face, blinding his view. After a strategic pause Castor used is right foot to send a chunk of the battlefield at the same target, carefully hiding it behind the fireball.

Icarus shrugged with a faint smile in the teachers suite at Anduins comments. He kept quiet thinking to himself the best is yet to come.

Apollo watched the match in front of him but was thinking of something else entirely. Ally was up against Shiro next and Apollo was eager to see how his rival would handle her speed. She was outmatched but she is a very cunning individual.

Kairi sat on the edge of her seat watching her friend. “He’s got this.” She said aloud to no one in particular. Maybe just to reassure herself.

Putting his fingers together to form his tri-claw hand, Noctis’s hands and forearms turned a shining black. Noctis reacted instinctively as he swiped up with his left hand, dispersing the fireball into the air, however the chunk of rock surprised him. Sliding back a little, the rock was held in front of him, his right hand clawed into it to catch it. “Hey now, that was pretty sneaky of ya! Why don’t have it back!” He chuckled as he lobbed it back at Castor, following up with charge forward. Suddenly Noctis jumped up and smashed the rock into pieces, and came crashing down onto Castor.

Shiro nodded in agreement, and once the fight started, he felt intrigued. Noctis was a pretty straightforward fighter, acting and reacting on base instinct. Castor was very strategic in his initial move, pairing his attacks to catch his opponent off guard. Noctis has a good reaction speed, but Castor has a multitude of combos and simply a more diverse kit. Castor by far was more than a match for Noctis, and anticipation began building up for his next fight. Shiro smiled, “I can’t wait for my match, it makes me happy that everyone is doing their best in this tournament.”

Ally, with her enhanced hearing, felt somewhat uneasy by the words of her next opponent. After watching Shiro make Coach Anduin move back so far, she had hoped not face him, but she needed to buck up and face her opponent with everything she has.

Caesar made careful note of Noctis’s dealing with the fireball, and the way He explained his quirk, Caesar was starting think there was a little more than just hardening his skin. “Hey Apollo, when are we gonna tell Noctis his quirk is more than he knows?”

Castor rose his left hand as a powerful jet of water shot from his palm catching Noctis midair sending him backwards crashing towards the ground. Kicking off the ground with a burst of air from his left foot, Castor sprinted at his opponent with a boosted speed. He took a deep breathe before firing a continuous large stream of fire from his right hand. The flames enveloped Noctis’s figure obscuring him from view. ‘Even if Noctis could initially block, he wouldn’t be able to take it for too long.’ Castor thought to himself, ready for his next move.

Apollo leaned forward with Castor’s attack. “After this tournament we work together.” Apollo said to Caesar and Ally, never taking his eyes from the battlefield. Careful not to make eye contact with either of them. “The four of us will be setting records at UA before we are done.” He added before putting his headphones in, not so subtlety trying to escape the awkwardness of opening up more.

Kairi looked from the match and then to Shiro. “He’s incredible, i've never seen him produce so much fire in class! He’s been holding back on us!” She added before remembering she hadn’t shown off her last move against Apollo. “Well I guess we all have.” She finished with a slight laugh tapping Shiro’s leg with her hand.

Noctis held put his hardened hand, blocking the flames with an unknown force. His now soaked clothes kept him defended from the fire, but he had no good out. Acting on impulse, Noctis rolled to the side, looking around for Castor.

The twins stared at him in mild surprise, wondering where this sudden helping hand extended from. Ally then reached over Caesar, pulled out the headphones, and proceeded to yell into Apollo’s the ears. “Quit being so dense you bloody emo-wannabe!”

Shiro looked back at Kairi after glancing at the scene behind them, “He is pretty amazing, and so are you. Sometimes it’s good to have an ace up the sleeve, it can be a decisive tool to use in a pinch.”

Apollo rolled his eyes ignoring the two as he leaned in. “It’s over.” He said, eyes fixated on the match. In the back of his mind he was cursing himself for feeling guilty about opening up to his friends. Why was he now interested In friendships? The question nagged at him recently.

Castor caught movement through the flames and planted his right foot firmly in front of him. “Got ya!” He grinned as a wall of rock popped out of the ground in front of him, launching at the newly emerged Noctis. The boy had no time to react as the wall slammed into him, sending him hurtling out of the ring into the grass. As his body hit the victory bell rang and a picture of Castor appeared on the television screens. Castor gave a wave to the crowd before exiting back to the stands after a quick once over from one of the recovery heroes.

Kairi cheered for Castor until the audience’s cries calmed down and Anduin began speaking over the speakers. Heroes were starting to reset the field already. She turned to Shiro wishing him good luck before he left his seat.

Apollo exchanged a glance with Ally before she left. “Make him work for it.” Was all he said as eyes before his eyes started scanning the suite boxes at the top of the stadium. No doubt his Aunt is sitting up there watching him. Surrounded by all of her high powered friends.

Noctis was upside down on his head, feeling dazed, “Dang... should have seen that coming.” He said with dizziness as he flopped over.

As Anduin began a monologue on how pleased he was to the students giving such spectacular fights, Shiro nodded his thanks to Kairi. Ally scoffed, “Please, I’ll wipe that happy off his face, count on it!”

With the field prepared, Shiro and Ally took the stage. Ally had tied off her track jacket around her waist, sporting just her black tank-top, Shiro still smiled as he wore his short sleeve zip-up. As the countdown timed out, Ally was in Shiro’s face in half a second, easily clearing the distance with her blood rush. Her first hit was caught firmly by Shiro, hastily shaking off her surprise, Ally followed up with another punch then twirled around for round house kick. Unleashing a barrage of jabs and kicks, Ally couldn’t penetrate Shiro’s defense, as he blocked or deflected them with mild ease. Then Shiro grabbed hold of Ally’s foot, and twisted around to fling her across the stage. Thinking quickly, Ally used her blood rush form to zip right back around, and materialized to bring a heavy heel down on Shiro. There was burst of white aura as Shiro blocked the kick with both arms, then switched to grab her ankle and slam Ally down. This time, Ally was able to deform into her blood rush to escape. However, without pausing, Shiro bent his knees and burst off in a white dash. Catching Ally off guard as she began to materialize back, Shiro stood over her as he fired a stop-short Punch close to her face. The ensuing shockwave blew Ally into the stage and crashing out of bounds. The bell rang for victory, Shiro scratching his head popped up on the big screen, smiling brightly as ever. In the dust, Ally groaned as she stood up from the rubble, slowly she tightened her fists.

In the stands, Caesar frowned as he saw his sister tense up with a rising rage. Neither liked to accept defeat, but He knew Ally took it more seriously than him. He of all people knew, that under his sister’s excited bubbly exterior, was the heart of Fighter who relished Victory above all else. Then the thought he had feared popped into his head, ‘Would I be able to beat Shiro, could I beat Apollo?’ The thought nagged at him under a lazy expression, starting to seeing the widening gap between his classmates, grow ever so slightly. “Wow! Shiro sure has some power to him doesn’t he?” Noctis chuckled as he came to sit down next to Apollo, his head and neck have some bandages. Down on the field, Ally was getting checked on by the medical staff, but she turned them away and hastily made her way inside.

“With the Quarter Finals concluded, we will have a short break, please enjoy these commercials in the meantime! First fight of the Semi Finals, Apollo Delphi vs Caesar Valentine!” Anduin boomed out.

After he finished watching Shiro and Ally's fight from the infirmary, Joki was told that he was well enough to head back to the stands to finish the rest of the tournament with his classmates. As he was walking to back to the seats he ran into Shrio and said "Hey man you looked awesome out there, great fight!"

“I wonder just how much he has.” Apollo said. Suddenly he made eye contact with a suited man at the top of the stairs of stands they were in. The man had a shaved head and black sunglasses with an earpiece. The man gestured with his head to follow and began walking off. Apollo felt annoyance build up inside of him. ‘Now of all times?’ He thought to himself. “Anyways, I have to go get ready.” He stayed as he pushed his way to the aisle. He followed the bald man from a distance as not to draw attention, a protocol he was well used to by now.

After a short while and many staircases later, Apollo found himself walking into the Delphi corporation suite. Inside the room were a dozen more men in suits with a similar description. As the door shut behind him a chair spun around and a dark haired women stood up. From outer appearance it was clear she and Apollo were related. They even shared the same scowl. “Apollo, you have performed adequately so far. I expect you to show the world all that we’ve invested in this in the finals.” Yuuki Delphi said monotonously. Apollo sensed there was more, these meetings rarely happened and never to compliment him. “Encouraging words have never been your strong suit Aunt Yuuki. Why did you send your goons the get me. I’m up next I don’t have time for this.” Apollo said with mild contempt. Yuuki’s eyes narrowed. “How astute of you, I called you her to warn you. Several of my buildings have had security breaches in the past few months. Our investigations have led us to believe that someone or some group is gathering any intel they can on our family. More specifically you. Only the people in this room know about this. Bringing this problem to the authorities would only bring negative publicity to our family.” She explained seriously. Apollo’s eye caught the screens playing a commercial about the reopening of the Tokyo mall, repeatedly stating the repairs were funded by none other than the Delphi corporation. Apollo rolled his eyes at the irony in the timing. “ I appreciate your concern aunt Yuuki, I’ll keep an eye out. I’m sure whoever it is will back off once they see me in the finals.” Apollo stated matter of factly as he made his way to the door pausing to bow out of courtesy to her. She may not be motherly but she was about the one person he truly respected. She nodded in response watching him leave. As the door shut she looked to the bald man. “If he leaves the school follow him. I need to know where he is at all times, especially if it’s who we think it is.”

“Apollo’s Aunt paid for the mall repairs?” Kairi asked in shock. “She’s so sweet, I wonder if Apollo had any part of that... maybe he’s hiding a soft side from all of us!” Kairi continued getting mildly excited at the thought. “Well she is the richest woman in all of Japan so I’m sure it was some type of business move.” Castor added, clearly not buying into Apollo’s sweet side.

Shiro nodded thankfully, “Thank you Joki, Ally sure was fast, and her use of her speed move really surprised me. Speaking of surprises, you sure let Caesar have a few.” He smirked as he lightly padded Joki on the back.

Caesar kept staring at the field, contemplating his next fight with Apollo. As Noctis opened his mouth, Caesar stood up and headed off quickly, “Welp, guess they’re pretty antsy huh?” He sighed reluctantly. Ally came back a few minutes later, sitting down next to Noctis. As Noctis began to rant off about his fight with Castor, Ally recalled what happened just a minute ago in the hall...

Coming back to the stands, Ally met Caesar, but his expression was one of pure determination, focused on what lie ahead of him. Ally sighed, “Have a Plan?” She asked as He passed by. Caesar paused next to her, “I’m going to give it all I have, that's my plan.”

Back to present time, Ally sighed deeply. “Oh I know right, totally should have seen that rock coming. I just-“ Noctis stopped as Ally gave him a confused look, “What?”

Apollo paced the halls of the stadium for quite some time trying to clear his head from his previous conversation. He wasn’t afraid of whoever was collecting information on him, more just curious what their end goal was. As he made his way down to the waiting room he noticed a lot of eyes were on him. His previous performances showed some of his power which must have turned some heads. However, he hadn’t done anything too amazing yet. Surely Caesar would push him enough to have some fun, he thought.

“Welcome back ladies, gentlemen, and future heroes! In just a few minutes we will begin the first round of our semifinals. As you may have noticed our arena stage has changed. For the remaining battles there will be no out of bounds. The only way to advance is by knockout or if one of the students surrenders! Contestants, if you haven’t already please make your way to the waiting rooms in preparation for the final fights!” Outback boomed over the speakers until the screens switch over to a timer counting down from ten minutes.

Caesar sat in his waiting room, impatiently tapping his fingers on the table in front of him. In his mind he ran battle simulations, figuring out his best possible route... "Wait, this isn't me!" He exclaimed furiously as he stood up, launching the table against the wall with his hands. Then he realized they shaking, the realization hit him with shock, "This is Fear..." Tightening his fists, items around the room began floating as he released his telekinetic energy. "Screw you Apollo, and Shiro, My Father would have defeated you both... and I will do the same!"

Returning back to their seats, Shiro and Joki greeted Kairi and Castor. "Well my friend, looks like it'll be you and me, let's do our best!" Shiro told Castor encouragingly, holding out a hand.

Castor shook Shiro’s hand with a smile. “Let’s give it our all!” He said encouragingly. Just then an alarm from the speakers rang. “Sit down you three, it’s starting!” Kairi urged them, pulling them one by one to their seats.

When the one minute alarm rang, Apollo stood up to begin his walk out to the arena. He passed by the pro heroes that were there to intervene if anything went too far. He didn’t know their names, any pro here worth knowing we’re in their own private boxes. He doubted they would be able to do too much of it game down to it. As the natural light came in from his destination he felt himself getting fired up. ‘Wow Caesar, I wasn’t expecting to be this excited to fight you.’ Apollo thought to himself. He wasn’t worried, but he was happy to be tested more than any of his previous fights.

“And now, here come our constestants! Get ready for a battle to remember!” Outback boomed, his voice clearly showing off the excitement he had.

From the shadows his corridor, Caesar’s eyes burned a bright red, before stepping out into the light. One component of his features had changed dramatically.

Ally stood up in surprise, “What did that idiot do! Did... did he really just give himself a haircut!” She yelled questionably.
Caesar’s hair was buzzed all the way around, with a hard part separating a longer shaggy top of blonde hair. He was already taking off his jacket, tying it around his waistband, sporting a jet black T-shirt. Stepping onto the platform, Caesar stretched his right arm across his body, bracing with his left. “I’ll make something clear, my regeneration isn’t as fast as Ally’s, but it’ll keep up. Oh for the sake of out Friendship, Dont you Dare fight me with a hand behind your back! I want a hundred percent and nothing less, YOU HEAR ME APOLLO!” His voice carried such determination and emotion, clearly there wasn’t another thought in his mind beside this fight, here and now.

Apollo responded in kind, taking his own jacket off and tying it around his waist. Under his he wore a black tank. He stretched his neck by moving his head side to side. He eyed Caesar’s new haircut with curiosity but brushed it off quickly deciding to save his retorts for another time. “ I won’t go easy, friend. But you’ll have to earn my best.” Apollo said with a sly grin.

“5...4...3...” the countdown sounded in the background.

Apollo flexed and his aura erupted around him coating his entire body as he dropped into an aggressive stance.

Triton quickly found his seat and looked on eagerly. ‘Give it your best Caesar, your father and I are with you.’ He thought to himself.

Kairi subconsciously grabbed Shiro’s arm in anticipation. Knowing this was going to be an intense show. Castor gave it a curious glance but only for a moment. He noticed the crowd was as interested as his class in the fight. The cheers had died down and everyone was ready for a show. He got a sinking feeling realizing how much attention was being put on the students competing. He shook it off forcing himself to not let it affect him. He had a big fight to mentally prepare for and couldn’t let anything cloud his thoughts.

Oh man, they’re getting serious, this is going to be good!” Joki thought you himself with a big excited grin on his face, as he awaited the start of the match between Apollo and Caesar.

Caesar felt a surge of anger rise in him, ‘Earn your best?’, He thought to himself like a joke. “Don’t you dare look down on me!” Caesar roared furiously, shooting off towards Apollo with near blinding speed, his hands seeming to grab at the air like he was pulling himself to increase his speed. The distance between them was closed quickly, Caesar made a final spinning move, before landing a heavy back heel on Apollo’s guard. The area around Apollo’s feet was cracked and blown away from the mere pressure of Caesar’s kick. However, the ground Apollo stood upon remained untouched.

Shiro noted many things in what seemed like the blink of an eye, Caesar used his telekinesis to pull himself along and increased his speed dramatically, converting all that momentum into a single point hit. Apollo on the other hand...

Apollo blocked the kick with his arm. He was shocked how quick he had to respond. Caesar was displaying a new level of speed. He wasn’t sure where this ferociousness had come from in his friend but he welcomed the challenge. Quickly he brought his arms out away from him expanding his aura pushing everything around him back several feet. To follow up he aimed an open palm at Caesar, fingers curled towards his target. “Homing strike!” He said. Streams of dark energy shot out wildly from each of his five finger tips. At first glance it looks like his attack had no control as the energy blasts started spiraling out of control, until they all righted themselves at once homing in on Caesar following his every move.

“So his aura can double as a shield.” Castor said aloud. He also noticed the burn mark on Caesars leg where his attack had landed over the big screen. ‘Even in defense, he is offensive.’ He thought to himself as he began to realize how devastating his quirk actually is.

Caesar felt little pain from the burn by Apollo’s aura, his adrenaline and mindset blocked out all unnecessary thoughts. A sudden thought occurred to him as he watched the energy bolts home in on him, he slid to a halt and thrust out his right hand as if to grasp something. Slowly the energy blasts came to a stop in mid air, though it wasn’t without great concentration from Caesar, more than he originally thought. ‘I’ve never done this before, using my telekinesis on an energy form. It’s different from just handling rocks.’ Caesar went over in his mind before reaching out with his left hand to forcefully divert the energy blasts into the ground around him, spreading out his arms as if ripping the air apart. Thinking fast, Caesar burst out dust clouds created by the blasts, charging Apollo once more. This time, Caesar waved his hand, breaking the ground beneath Apollo’s feet. In that moment of imbalance, Caesar unleashed a blur or rapid fire punches, his eyes wide with fury.

As the ground crumbled beneath him Apollo let himself hover a couple inches above to regain his balance. He was surprised by how quickly Caesar closed the gap again but Apollo was ready. He had been trained in hand to hand combat by some of the best. He fluidly blocked or redirected Caesars attacks. Setting up for his next attack he urged closer to Caesar. Quickly he jabbed two palms at Caesars arms breaking his guard. At the new opening now created Apollo brought his fists high above him. The aura surrounding his fists grew and gleamed as the powerful energy grew. In an instant he brought his fist down into Caesars chest, sending the boy skidding across the stadium floor. Caesars shirt was burned and tattered from where the attack hit. Apollo set back down on the ground with his feet several yards away. “Get up!” He yelled as he sent a blast of energy screeching toward Caesar as a follow up attack.

Caesar flipped back mid air, sliding back on the ground and dragging his hand to steady himself, till he came to a halt. The hit from Apollo had burned a hole in his shirt, the real damage was to his chest, the skin slightly burnt but beginning to slowly heal. Hearing Apollo’s words, Caesar tensed up with adrenaline, “Like that would keep me Down!” He yelled before bringing both hands up and using his telekinesis to fully redirect the energy blast up into the sky. Taking a deep breath, Caesar charged head long towards Apollo, this time all the loose concrete beneath Apollo shot up. Caesar leaped up and reached his right hand back, suddenly Apollo’s last energy blast sped into Caesar’s palm. There was a split moment where the two locked eyes. Before the arena ground exploded.

“Whoa! It just looked like Caesar Valentine used his telekinesis to turn Apollo Delphi’s own energy blast against him!” Anduin concluded as he gave the audience a play by play of what happened.

Ally looked in concern, Noctis had his mouth wide open in amazement. Shiro gave no expression other than his usual smile.

When the dust cleared Apollo found himself kneeling in a pile of rubble. The aura around him was pulsing as his adrenaline grew. Quickly he studied himself. No major damage but he felt the force of his own power and it wasn’t often he felt that pain. “Interesting. I’m impressed.” He said. Suddenly he took off at a blinding speed. A streak of his energy trailing behind him. He closed the distance between the other boy in an instant, delivering a hard knee into Caesars gut, his power amplifying the hit. Quickly he followed it up with a palm on his chest. “Redirect this.” Apollo’s palm lit up releasing a point blank blast that sent the boy flying into the barrier wall.

“What an exciting fight we have going on here! I’m told these two have had a growing friendly rivalry during their time at UA and you can see that fire here!” Outback announced shuffling through some info cards.

Kairi realized she was standing up and quickly sat back down. “Wow, Apollo was really holding back with me wasn’t he?” She said to Joki.

"Ya I'd say so and something tells me that wasn't even everything he's got. Whoever faces him in the finals is going to have a hell of a time. " said Joki as he answered Kairi's question. As Joki turned his head back to the center of the arena he thought to himself "I can't believe he used his aura to increase his speed, I might have to look into trying something like that".

To those who could sense such a thing, a sudden dread rippled through their bodies. A feeling that Prey would have, when they realize they are being hunted. The warning in a Predator, when Competition, stalks closer. Rubble was pushed aside, Caesar stumbled onto the grass surrounding the stadium, his gym uniform and shirt mostly burned away. With a clench of his teeth, a dark red aura enveloped him entirely, his red amber eyes wide with a burning hunger. A frightening roar followed as his skin attempted to darken, but it was quickly followed by a burst of flames, then a douse of steam. Caesar fell to the ground with a thud, leaving the arena silent in his wake.

“What was that?”
“He’s a monster? No, a demon!”
“So scary, and he’s to be a hero?”
“Didn’t look like no hero to me.”

The crowd began to mutter amongst themselves. Ally looked on in silence, her stern face not giving away any emotions, the crowds words reaching even the student section. Noctis swallowed, though he kept his mouth shut. Finally, Ally huffed, “That Idiot...” Giving Noctis a chance to sigh in relief, “Man, this is some tournament.”

“Result of the First round Semifinals, Apollo Delphi vs. Caesar Valentine, Apollo takes the win.” Anduin spoke over the mumbling crowd, “There will be a short break as the battlefield is repaired.”

The Medical Team were quick to recover Caesar, while two others ushered Apollo off the fighting stage, checking him over as they did. Once Apollo was cleared and left alone to walk down the hall, Shiro leaned against the wall in waiting, “If I were you, I wouldn’t take our Friends lightly.” He told Apollo casually, like a friendly warning.

“Well would you look at that, you ARE capable of real thought, outside of rainbows and sunshine. Your warnings are lost on me Shiro. I have one battle left, don't keep me waiting too long.” Apollo chided back waving off the medics as he kept his stride towards the waiting room.

Castor sat waiting in another room stretching and getting his body warmed up. He knew this was the hardest challenge he was going to face so far in his time at UA.

Shiro chuckled, “Whether you choose to see it or not, Caesar isn’t the only one, there are others who have, or will remind you. That our place at the top, isn’t as safe as you might think.” He said aloud before kicking off the wall and heading towards the arena field to wait.

In the infirmary, Caesar awoke in his bed, feeling the exhaustion from over extending his Quirks limits. “Dammît...” He whispered in frustration, hitting the blank space on his bed.

Ng
“Here you have it folks! It’s time to see who will be joining Apollo in the finals! Will it be Castor? Devoted student and friend or Shiro, role model to his peers, devoted student and frien- *ahem* well let’s let them decide! Here they come now!” Outback finished falling back in his chair scrambling through his notecards.

Castor took his place in the stadium across from Shiro. “Nothing personal I guess?” Castor said with an excited laugh.

Shiro rotated his right shoulder, “Nonsense, give me your best, and I shall give you mine.” As he spoke, the white aura appeared around his shoulders, before the ground beneath his feet cracked from the pressure.

Anduin chuckled at Outback loosing his cool, but his attention was drawn quickly to the field, in suspense at Shiro. ‘Would Castor give him a fight worth his full power? Considering the first hand experience myself, I wonder if only Apollo is Shiro’s equal in raw power. However, Joki’s ability to adapt and grow in the heat of battle, and not to mention Caesar’s hidden prowess yet to be given a chance. Ally, Kairi, even Noctis... Icarus, you have a so much potential in your classroom, make sure it is polished correctly.’ Anduin thought inside himself.

Drop took a seat next Icarus and kicked his feet up on the chair in front, leaning back non-chalantly, “Quite the Classroom you have there, a little rough around the edges, but they got some shine to ‘em. Think they can measure up to their Upper Classmen?” He chided teasingly.

Castor chuckled with a shrug. A bell sounded marking the start of the fight. Castor shifted a foot on the concrete and a pillar of earth shot up from the cracks beneath Shiro’s feet launching him up high. Castor followed by sending a series of fire balls at the student.

Icarus smirked. “The fact you are even asking me that Drop, means you see the potential. There’s a lot of raw talent that needs to be polished. Luckily those with stronger natural ability are setting the bar high, forcing the other students to adapt to catch up.” He observed the two fighting before him. “Your three seem to be interested enough, that should tell you something.” Icarus added gesturing to an area of the stands where three students sat together.

Unfazed by the sudden lift off into the air, Shiro kept a smile as he swatted away the fire balls. Landing with a thud, he took a single step and closed the distance fast, reaching out at Castor as time seemed to slow.

Drop smirked, “Yeah, they’ve heard the rumors about your little class. Maybe it’s time they learned what they are striving to become?”

In the stands, three older students watched with an intense gaze. Their eyes analyzed the fights that occurred before them, talking among themselves about each student.

This time the pillar of earth that shot up was under Castor. It was the only thing he had time to do. A swirl of wind carried him down to safety as he counter attacked. He began unleashing a volley of attacks alternating between fire and ice. In his heart he knew the attacks weren’t enough. He’d have to get more creative if he wanted to make Shiro falter.
Icarus thought for a moment. “You may be right. Once the tournament has concluded and the students have recovered, we can arrange a joint gym class.” He said while watching Castor. ‘The boy has got a strong mind, let’s see what he can do with it.”

“Look at these two go! The versatility of Castor’s elemental quirk would keep any hero on their toes! Let’s see if he can chip away at the impeccable defense Shiro has shown us!” Outback sounded over the speakers. He had regained his composure.

Shiro’s hand crushed through the rock pillar, barely halted by the solid rock. “This is great, Castor, I feel like I can go all out!” There was a burst of warm air from Shiro as he crouched down, in a strong leap, He was above Castor with his fists coupled together and bringing them down. The scene was almost describable to a Giant Hammer, smashing down with a Holy Smite.

Castor brought up a rock wall with a gesture from his hand to cover his narrow escape as he rolled out of the way. He could see the power gap between them growing by the second. ‘No more games, I have to go all out.’ He thought with a deep breath, readying himself. Castor reached out with his right hand as a geyser of flame poured out raging towards Shiro. The flames had blocked Castor from view. With his left hand he created a fist and swung at the air between the two in an uppercut motion. From within the flames a spear of earth shot up, catching Shiro right in the jaw.

Apollo noticed he had stood up while watching the fight on the screen. Not only was Castor showing that his powers were not specific to certain limbs. He could use two elements at once! ‘Well done hiding your potential, I’m impressed.’ He thought to himself as he watched further.

Wasting no time Castor used his moment to throw everything he had at Shiro. Ice, fire, earth and air launched at Shiro two at a time, one after the other. The crowd couldn’t see the battlefield due to the chaos unfolding. Castor kept going, showing massive amounts of power that he had hidden before. Finally he stopped, breathing heavily, as he waited for the battlefield to clear for a sight at his opponent.

Kairi sat quietly in the stands dumbfounded, as she had no idea Castor had this amount of power...

Shiro demolished the rock barrier with ease, ‘He’s quick on draw’, He thought to himself as he kept walking through the flaming inferno. Suddenly, Shiro stopped as he felt his chin be pushed up, his back foot crushing the ground as he caught himself. There was a calm moment, Shiro grinned with excitement, before being covered by a volley of elemental attacks.

Caesar watched from his infirmary bed, the tv making it harder to discern details, but he guessed the gist of it. He smirked wildly, “Yeah, give ‘em hell, show them we’re not too far behind...”

Ally felt herself on the edge of her seat, anticipating a possible win from Castor. Noctis looked at Apollo standing, feeling almost proud that his buddy was not a complete emotionless husk.

Anduin was stone faced.

Instantly the dust broke apart, cleared as a tower of white light rose into the sky. Within it, a pair of red eyes glowed from a shadow pacing forward. That warm heat could be felt all around, not threatening, but calming. Only Castor felt the immense pressure of intimidation. “Fantastic! I can tell your resolve is Strengthened! I am honored to have been able to bare experience to such determination!” Shiro spoke with an echo, his voice being carried by his quirks aura.

Anduin sighed, remembering his encounter with Shiro’s full power, it was a sight unlike anything he’d witnessed before. Like He’d committed a grave sin, and was about to be punished for it, tenfold.

“Well, I forfeit!” Castor said with an amused laugh. The boy was exhausted, he had really let lose at the end and the only hit he was sure he landed was the first one. “That was fun but I know when I’m beaten.” He continued as he dusted himself off. Castor walked over to Shiro and grabbed him by the wrist lifting his arm in the air to signify his win. “Can’t wait to see what you can do against Apollo.” Castor said to Shiro alone as he stood next to his friend.
“Well then! There you have it, Castor has forfeited moving Shiro along to the finals where he will face off against Apollo. What a show that last fight was. One thing is for sure, we still have a lot left to see!” Outback announced before rambling off about a brief intermission before the final match.

Apollo’s blood pumped. Shiro was strong, this was going to be fun.

At those words, Shiro instantly powered down, looking at Castor in confusion. He then smiled, “I guess there’s no debating you into giving it another go huh?” He asked rhetorically, letting Castor hold up his hand as the victor. Shiro glanced into the stands, making eye contact with Apollo, feeling the rush of excitement even from here.

As Shiro and Castor were cleared by the Medic team, they met a bandaged Caesar and Joki, who looked like he was dragged there against his will. Shiro patted Castor on the back and continued on, knowing that was not his place to be. Caesar held onto Joki’s shoulder, half to hold him there and half to steady himself. “It’s us, we’re gonna be the ones to show those two, We’re not far behind them. Thats a Promise.” He said sternly, determination swelling up inside him.

“You may be right.” Castor said seriously, his mood shifting from lighthearted. “I’m eager to see their limits just to see how high the bar really is set.” He added, confiding in Joki and Caesar.

Apollo quickly started making his way to the preparation room. Ignoring some comments from the other students. They’re good wishes meant nothing to him. He was focused and ready. It had been far too long where he was looking forward to a fight. It’s not often that an actual challenge presents itself. It was time to show Shiro.

Joki looked a Caeser as he broke into a smirk “Ya you’re right, we’re not gonna lose to them. That being said, this fights going to be one to remember so we should go find our seats.” Joki said to Caeser.

“Good idea.... just let me use you for mild support,” Caesar started as he frowned uncomfortably, “I’ll probably need to call my Guardian after this last fight...” He admitted begrudgingly.

After a few minutes rest, Shiro started back down the tunnel again, his ramping excitement already actively using his quirk at a small level. Apollo was one to never back down, and aggressively chase victory. All his life, Shiro has had to withhold his full strength, a side effect to having built it up before coming here. If he was able to use his quirk, never could he really us it to the full extent. Anduin was so far the only one Shiro could test it with, perhaps, Apollo will be counted among him.

“Remember Son, you have a very powerful quirk, but it is only so great if you can use it without harming the innocent.”

The words echoed in Shiro’s mind, “I am Happy. I will become the Hero, the innocent need me to be.”

By this time the final stage had been set and the finalists were being called to their starting positions. Icarus sat in the suite still. Part of him was excited for this fight, the other part was terrified. “Drop, this is the fight to watch. Alright everybody listen up.” He instructed to all the faculty in the room. “We are about to observe two students that haven’t been given the opportunity to show off their true potential. I believe they would both stop if things get out of hand, however, I’m not sure if these two even know their own limits. Be ready.” He said. The faces looked grimly back at him. It wasn’t like Icarus to speak up like this so when he did, they listened.

Apollo eagerly walked through the hallways of the stadium to the arena. Many eyes were on him and he was ready. The crowd roared as he took his position in the ring and stared down the other hallway waiting for his opponent. Apollo felt his quirk rage up inside him, ready to be unleashed.

There was a flare-up of white aura from the tunnel entrance, then ceased as Shiro stepped into the light. The cheers erupted, showing the following he’d developed throughout the tournament, becoming a fan favorite. In the stands, a handmade sign was held by and Mother and young Daughter. The sign read, ‘Thank you for saving us! You’re an Angel!’ The daughter yelled out happily, “Thank you for saving us at the Mall! We’re happy to be saved by an Angel!” The crowd around them talked about it, getting the story from the Mother, detailing how they were saved by Shiro during the Mall Robbery last week.
“That’s amazing!”
“Yeah like he just swooped in and protected you!”
“He’s and Angel sent to protect us!”
“Hey! He should be called Archangel!”
Archangel? Yeah that’s perfect!”
“Archangel!”
“Archangel!”
Archangel!”
The name was chanted throughout the stadium, as Shiro took his place on the arena, admitting he kinda liked the name. “The names not bad, but it’s beside the point. Apollo, you want to become the number one right? Be strong? Though, a True Hero is one who protects others, to be strong for others. Not for yourself. My hope is that you will learn this, especially if you want beat Me. My Resolve, is to protect the innocent, to be stronger for them. Tell me, what is your Resolve?” He asked patiently, holding out a fist. The low, white aura, radiating off his arm indicated his quirk was already active at a low degree.

“How dare you talk down to me. You speak of resolve like you’re already a hero. Being the strongest is what I was made for Shiro. You doubting my intentions does nothing to sway me. I will protect this world so that no one will suffer in the ways that I have. You can have the public’s love for I will be the one they call when all hope is lost.” Apollo erupted with his pure dark energy. “Since you’re already so confident, let’s test your precious resolve. You claim to be strong for others. In this arena it is just you and me. The one you need to be strong for... is yourself!” He roared as the earth below his feet crumbled, sending a small tremor throughout the stands.

“Wow these two are fired up! I’m hearing that this has been a very competitive rivalry since their first day together at UA. Just remember we are all on the same team here. Without further ado, let the final match commence!” Outback announced as the starting bell rang.

The instant the chime rang Apollo was moving. The already cracked ground exploded where he once stood, sending chunks of debris flying. His body reacted with his quirk naturally, showing off many years of training. ‘Let’s start prodding those defenses.’ He thought to himself as his body came to a halt. He swiftly brought his hands forward unleashing two beams of energy blasting towards Shiro. His opponents quirk could withstand most attacks, but Apollo’s energy was one of a kind.

Kairi choked a little bit. She had to remind herself to breathe. Seeing these two like this was unnerving to her. Apollo had faced her before and seemed to be barely paying attention. The power she was seeing now told her she wasn’t a threat. Shiro is strong but she feared for him.

“Here we go...” Castor said to Caesar and Joki and they found their seats back with Kairi and Ally.

Shiro exhaled as Apollo’s power washed over him, “No, the one I need to be strong for now,” He stated as he started forward, his right hand blocking the beams with seamless ease, “Is you.” Suddenly Shiro was in Apollo’s face, having taken a powerful dash with a burst of warming aura. Shiro’s left hand was balled into a fist, rocketing at Apollo with a glowing white flare. That side of the arena exploded into a cloud dust after a brief flash of light and dark collided.

Ally and Noctis were standing up in anticipation, Caesar still had his arm around Joki, his eyes gleaming with determination. The whole class stood up as they watched, waiting to see who would come out on top of this rivalry that dominated their classroom.

In the second and third year student section, three students who sat close together, spoke amongst themselves, “They sure got a lot of power to them...”

Apollo saw the punch but he saw another opening as well. Most of his training hand been in hand to hand combat. The application of his quirk in fighting had been trained but was mostly up to him on how he used it. He let the punch hit its mark. At the same time, Apollo pressed two fingers on Shiro’s thigh. A highly concentrated beam of energy shot through, exiting out the back. As the two energies met and both blows had hit, an explosion of shock force separated the two. Their energies were destined to clash. “I don’t need anything from you.” Apollo said, his eyes showing a ferocity none of the students had seen before. Apollo sliced his hand through the air as arcs of energy shot out towards Shiro, carving through the earth as they raced towards him. Not hesitating Apollo raced in ready to meet Shiro’s fists.

“What I’d give to hear what they are saying right now.” Castor said aloud to the group. They weren’t split up like they were when Apollo and Shiro were there. They were all sitting together now.

In the trio of students sitting in the 2nd and 3rd year section, the boy in the middle leaned forward a little in his seat. “The do don’t they? A tad brutish for my taste.” He said in a tone that marked amusement.
