Sishu chuckled a bit as Zenima mentioned tells. That was certainly something that she had noticed back home, though the added context of knowing what cards they had helped her spot them easier. That was another thing that Sishu found difficulty with during the game, she had trouble deciphering what was a tell or not. Something else she would have to learn how to do without magic in time.

Her interest was piqued, however, when Zenima mentioned that the headmaster himself would be teaching some of the classes "Really? Huh... Do you know what classes he'll be teaching, or how to find out what they are?" She asked him, definitely very interested in taking a class like that if at all possible. If she could get personal instruction from the highest figure in the school, she could definitely become a very powerful mage... She was so distracted by this train of thought that she hadn't even noticed that the ferry was late until Hedda pointed it out "Hm? Ah, yeah, maybe. With how big a deal this place is, it sure wouldn't surprise me if they were."

Zenima nodded at both Sishu and Hedda's comments about the administration and chuckled slightly at the "fancy entrance ceremony" comment. "Indeed that might be the case otherwise-"

*DING!* *DING!* *DING!* A rather loud bell could be heard approaching the docks. Turning around, one would notice a large ferry cruising through the water to meet the dock. As the crew hands lassoed the ropes, a booming voice that belonged a demon-kin echoed. "All right, ferry's here! No pushing or shoving please! If you are a student, please present your letter and your directional charm before boarding; Headmaster's orders." Zenima nodded and waved to both Hedda and Sishu as he moved towards the boat. "I'll see you inside the university!" before he became enveloped in the crowd of passengers that formed. Taking out his letter and directional charm, he moved towards the ferryman who had an exasperated look on his face in his tone. "What the hell did I say! No bloody pushing or shoving, you're all going to get there at the same time! Geez!" Zenima then moved up to him and presented both items to the ferryman causing him to shift his tone and expression and smile, "Welcome to Rodren University, Please gather in the main hall once you've arrived on the island." He handed back the letter and charm to Zen assured of its' authenticity before greeting the next aspiring student. Zen then took a seat on one of the benches and waited for the ferry to be off. Once everyone had gotten on the boat, the crew hands untied the ropes and pushed the ferry away from the docks before a small humming noise could be heard. ~I wonder what that is?~ Of course, Zenima was most likely not the only person to think this question.

Arriving on the main island for any first timers was a sight to behold. Surrounded on all sides by water, the academy was housed in a giant sprawling castle with many towers, presumably each had their own use. As the boat traveled along the water, he noticed several two floor buildings all grouped together in one area. ~Those must be where we will live while studying here.~ Upon reaching the dock, the students were ushered into the castle and passed through a series of arched hallways filled with sculptures, artwork, and glass cases to name a few before arriving at a ginormous hall filled with benches and seats. At the end of the hall sat another table that was perpendicular to the other tables with several seats behind it. Some were occupied with Elves, Humans, Demon-kin, Angel-kin, and a dwarf, however, the main seat at the center of the table was empty. ~That must be the headmaster's seat~ Zenima thought. Undeterred, he sat down at a seat towards the front of the hall and awaited further instructions as to what was most certainly the beginning of his studies at Rodren University.

The trip to the island was uneventful, if unsteady. If only Estella could have fully appreciated the clear marine air and breeze that permeated the surroundings of the island, but it was not to be. She sat quietly, her eyes taking in the sights as she did her best to keep calm with her breath hissing quietly.

The university itself was positively statuesque, like none of the places she had visited with her sisters before. Looking out to the buildings...it almost felt like a town of its own. The enormity seemed almost to swallow her up, but she felt excited at the same time.

A gnawing, roiling presence rose in Estella, causing her to reflexively clutch her stomach. The part of her that inhabited her insides, that saved her life...the part that only manifested itself when she used her magic. It seemed to awaken in response to the concentration of various arcane sources here.

Keeping her head down, she hurried to the great hall.

Exer Bestel

By the time the girl had realized what it was that he was implying, Exer had put the finishing details into his latest designs, closing his sketchbook shut and giving her a light glare. His eyebrows were raised in more of a confused fashion, as if to question her reasoning as to why she thought that thing that she was walking around in was good enough to be considered something that could make an impression. There was a moment where there was a bit more venom in his eyes, before he remembered that he was supposed to be coming off as at least a bit nice and approachable. "Even if your outfit is fine it could be better. I will admit that the color combination is quite nice but it could use a bit more flare to add some impact when you walk into a room. Maybe a different pattern on the hood or even-"

The young man's head whipped toward the dock and away from the girl as he had heard the ringing from the bell and in his sights had caught the ferry approaching. Quickly kicking himself onto his feet he turned back to the girl, "I'll talk to you about the details later!" Ignoring the demon-kin who must've been the captain, Exer had maneuvered his way as close as he could to the front as the man had made his announcement. Once he had been on the boat, the mage would take the time to actually look around, enjoying the sights and sounds of Rodren University. Once they had finally been brought to the main hall, Exer had done his best to stick closer to the front, ready and eager to begin his time at the University.

Kanon

Finally, the ship arrived!

Kanon immediately closed her book and stood up to hurry into the ferry but upon seeing the crowd of people pushing and shoving each other on their way up she decided to just wait until the other people had boarded the ship and hopped onto it last. She spent her time on the ship sitting on a crate while admiring the scenery of the ocean. Upon arriving at the island, Kanon couldn't help but gulped nervously. The castle was impressive and she never thought she would be studying in such a prestigious place.

Tch, castle. It's just overhyped rocks. Such vain and petty taste of you mortals.

"I heard the castle has expensive carpet as floor in some rooms."

I LOVE castle! Best mortal-made structure ever!

Walking through the hall, Kanon glanced curiously at various art pieces displayed but didn't think about it much beyond surface appreciation. Finally they arrived at the main hall and she decided to sat at one of the rearmost seat. Just in case she wanted to sleep during the opening speech.

Sishu heard the ferry bell and turned to see it approach. Well, that was convenient. Right away she made her way towards the ferry and boarded it along with the others. Once they arrived, Sishu looked up at the grand castle with excitement. The architecture was, as expected, very grand, but she was more focused on her objective being here. Her head spun with thoughts of what she'll be accomplishing here in the future. She couldn't wait! She lamented that she was towards the back of the pack, since that just meant she'd be getting there slower.

They arrived at the great hall, a large... well, hall, that was filled with all sorts of fancy decorations, both magical and not, and watched over by what Sishu assumed to be either the university's instructors or their leadership. Judging by the number of them, they were probably instructors, but seeing how massive this place was, they could feasibly need that many people to manage all of the people who did the teaching.

Curious about where the people she met at the poker table, Sishu sent out one of her Divination Wisps, as she liked to call them, sending it over the crowd to scan it for the two men. She'd managed to spot that Hedda man she briefly talked to, but in the thick crowds it was difficult to pick out anyone specific from them. She wasn't able to find Zenima or her table-rival, and she sighed and dispelled the wisp after only about a minute of flying it around the hall. She'd have plenty of time to locate them later, anyway. With that in mind, she turned her attention back towards the people sitting in front of the crowd, presumably waiting for the headmaster to arrive.

Rhea Valqen
Rhea stared at Exer giving him a sharp look still puffing her cheeks a bit in response. She was maintaining acting about as childish as one might expect given it was her taking offense to something someone said. Eyeing him up as he seemed to put the notepad away taking a bit of note in the harshness of his gaze though it had passed quickly leaving her to be more so oblivious to it. Honestly if she wasn't just the type that was leery and skeptical of others by default she wouldn't really be the type that keen on sniffing out contempt or any real ill feelings someone might have to begin with. She turned her head a bit in response as he seemed to try and assure her being a bit stubborn as she often could be.

"Hmph... if you really s..." She spoke her words cut off by the sound of the bell quickly taking his attention off from her. She looked on staring at him the fiery glance of hers softening a bit to that of a bit of worry that things had fallen apart and putting blame on herself. The expression was quickly throw away as she puffed her cheeks out again as to try and hide it trying to act still a bit angry at his response from before not wanting to come off weak or unlikeable. Perhaps she wasn't really the best judge at what was the best way to get people to really be fond of herself. The girl simply seeming to fumble a bit before giving a nod despite not quite changing her complexion.

Rhea had gotten onto the boat fumbling a bit to find the things she needed though luckily for her having found them though perhaps a little worst for wear being a bit careless in storing them. Not bad enough lucky for her to warrent too much questioning. Arriving the girl couldn't help but glance around her curiosity getting the best of her as she wasn't at all doing a good job of looking stoic excitedly checking things out. She had never really been to a place with so many people around neverminded some academy. She could only thank the heavens her father had sway and prestige to get her in. She wouldn't ruin the chance she was given! More important she would do good, and not mess up things like she had trying to train before hand!

Entering the hall Rhea moved towards the front, the girl stopping as she seemed to contemplate being up front. She shuffled back, heading past a few people towards the back. Her mind immediately drifting questioning such seating. She ventured forward towards the front once more, and then back. The girl traveling forward and back seeming almost like a confused dog wandering back and forth as if trying to figure out how to get a treat or find her way out through a fence to the outside world. Finally shifting back and forth looking a bit lost she finally stumbled her way in sitting herself down much more near the middle ducking glancing about nodding with confidence as she sat down as if she had known what she was doing the whole time despite her rather silly display.

Spiderverse Spiderverse (before the boat)

Hedda waved goodbye to Zenima and Sishu with a smile as the crowd overtook their surroundings. He stood there, politely letting his fellow students bypass him and feeling the anxiety of anticipation.
No rush, right? They're all on the same boat. He politely greeted the ferryman and took a spot by the railing, facing to the harbor. He stared at the lake beneath them. The waters did him better than the sea of people.

That unease was washed anew with amazement again as they landed. Would anyone back home even imagine something like this? The pavement on the ground was worn smooth by the tread of prim shoes, the walls were cool at touch, decorated with ivy and scratched by thinkers and pens. The wispy scent of a fresh spell permeated the halls. All Hedda could do was repeat wow to himself over and over again. And again, he lets the crowd move ahead of him, stalled by all the sights ahead of him.
He's the last to shuffle in, taking in one of the remaining seats in the back.

Oedel was enjoying the view of the sea until the sound of the ferry coming in to dock. He followed the rest of the students who were lining up to board the vessel. Showing his papers before finding himself a seat and enjoying the ride. Upon seeing the university he could not help but admire the work on the castle. Seeing just how big the place was kinda cool. This is where he will be sending a lot of time here. Hoping there would be some time to look at it in detail later.

As he walked through the halls with some of the other students he still focused on the layout and structure of the castle. Walking through the made him wonder about what he would learn and experience. But when he got to the main hall seeing how grand it looked he stood there a moment before going to take a seat in the middle row.

Suddenly a door could be heard opening from behind the main table in the front of the room. Appearing from behind a wall was a very tall built and handsome man that anyone could infer was in fact Headmaster Richard Ophidian. He strolled up to the podium with an air of confidence that, while not originating from arrogance, seemed to make him calm. Reaching the podium, he opened his mouth to speak. "Welcome to Rodren University," Richard began with a suave audible voice that, unsurprisingly caused some of the female students to swoon. "Your time here will be marked by learning, knowledge and how to defend yourself. No one person will have the exact same experience while they are here. A couple of announcements before I leave you to your own devices to enjoy the evening. First, no swimming in the lake without proper approval. To our returning students you should know why this rule is in place and we prefer to only catch fish in the lake if you please." A cacophony of laughter erupted from the students and some of the teachers. "Second, reservations for the combat grounds will be made through Professor Muldoon," turning around, the headmaster motioned to a rough barrel chested man who you did not want to get into a fight with. "Professor Muldoon will handle any and all combat training in and out of his class. Let me make this abundantly clear, there will be no unauthorized training, combat, any fighting at all. The penalties for such unapproved activities will be significant. Finally, there is a curfew in effect and you should be in your student dormitories at nightfall unless you have been given special permission. With that being said, I leave you to your own devices and for directions to the dormitories ask either the student monitors or the no doubt giant mass of students. Such a mass is not hard to miss after all," Richard chuckled. With a snap of his fingers food appeared in front of all of the students ranging from various meats, grains, and greens as well as various colored drinks.

Kanon

"That was faster than I expected."

Kanon listened carefully to the whole speech while restraining her frustation at various gasps and squeals from nearby girls fangirling for the principal. She usually didn't care much about rules other than doing the bare minimum to keep herself out of inconvenience but the mention about curfew really made her raised her eyebrow in confusion. Didn't expect that kind of rules here, she might need to be sneaky if she wanted to take her night stroll then. Then the speech end and the feast began. Kanon didn't seems to be too interested at the foods but she took a nearby breadroll and eat it anyway.

How is the taste?

"Taste like sugar."

Not even luxury foods can fix that tongue of yours, eh. Just hand me that fish over there then, I want to eat something that is not charred.

A lump of dark blob emerged from Kanon's shadow. At first it didn't have any distinctive shape but then gradually it grew a few limbs, eyes whiskers and fur until it finally took the shape of a black cat with sharp yellow irises. The cat stared at Kanon before tugging at her cloak and she responded by taking a plate of griled fish and put it in front of the cat. Eeriel immediately feasted on the fish.

"I'm going to the dorm. Don't get into trouble, allright." She didn't hear any telepathic response the cat seemed to be enjoying his meal so Kanon just left the Eeriel on his own. Since they're tied by contract he could just track her down anytime he wants so Kanon wasn't worried about them being separated. She also wanted some time without him nagging inside her mind.

The girl picked up her bag and wandered into one of the connected corridor. A lot of students were gathering here so she just thought that this would lead to the dormitory, probably.

Sishu listened closely as the headmaster gave his speech. As he spoke, she made note of the rules stated. Why there was no swimming in the lake was apparently left unexplained, but she could think of a few reasons for it at least. The second rule seemed much more important to him, and thus she figured it would probably be heavily enforced by the staff. During this, the headmaster also clarified who the other people at the table were, or at least who one of them was. They were most likely the other professors, it seemed, though whether this was all of them was yet to be seen. The curfew was something she'd find annoying, but it's also not something she was a complete stranger to, she'd had her bedtimes enforced when she was younger as well. Though to have to follow a curfew even as an adult made it feel a little bit like they were treating her like a child.

Once the food appeared in front of them, Sishu dug in, trying a bit of everything she could reach as she'd never tried food prepared in a place like this before. Home-cooked meals were all she knew, so professionally made food was something still fairly new to her. She would spend a while in here, eating her fill.

"...!" A sharp exhalation escaped from Estella's mouth as the food materialized on the banquet table, another plume of cool water vapor hissing out of her mask to varying amounts of bemusement or annoyance of the students sitting nearby.

Rodren was what some people would apparently find handsome, though his paternal manner...brought up some memories of Father. Estella didn't remain in that morose state long, however. Carefully inching up her respirator a bit to expose her mouth and lower lip, she brought a small cup of podfruit juice up, taking a sip. As comforting as the cool, sweet sensation was, it was not yet to be followed by filling her stomach. It was hard for her to remove her mask and eat in environments without sufficiently clear air.

Having contented herself, she pulled her respirator back down, picking up a slice of fruit. She focused, exercising her magic as she was used to. The chaotic presence that concentrated in her chest reached out, coursing along her arm, out through her fingertips. It suffused the fruit and stole the moisture from it, leaving it shrunken and dry.

Flipping the flap of her satchel open, she tried to subtly open one of her test tubes where a tiny colony of flies lay, dropping the fruit in.

"Alright, eat up little ones...you sure are lucky."

Rhea Valqen
Rhea looked on hearing all the announcements. Her eyes fixating on the man seeming to hold some interest in his appearance though not being one to be the swooning type. She wasn't exactly one who had a pampered life so such things didn't really tend to bog the girl down all that much. It woudl be a lie though that she hadn't at least thought about being with a guy, granted to her rather then some elaborate date or a romantic kiss under the moonlight she tended to imagine going out hunting in the woods and goofing off. Despite any sort of physical charm he had though it did little to keep her very focused on what he was saying. His words coming off more like a slur in her mind picking up only a vague idea of what was said such as something about swimming in the lake and combat stuff talking to someone about... something?

Gah Rhea you got distracted again I was suppose to be trying to pay attention. I guess I sort of heard? I mean th....

It was in the middle of arguing with herself the girl's ears suddenly perked up as she was made alert glancing forward in surprise as food was instantly conjured before them. The girl's mind having once again lost its train of thought. She began to drool a bit her eyes quickly shifting to that of the meat on the table seeming a bit less interested in all the other goods. The girl's more feral side seemed to klck in as she licked her lips hungrily doing her best to try and act a little more civilized and normal wiping away at some of the drool from the corner of her mouth having trouble refusing to just pounce on the table to go and attack the food. She had to be prim and proper. She had to try and fit in and...

Who was she kidding her stomache was growling and she couldn't handle the sight of such an exquisite meal offered before her.

Rhea nearly leaped up propping herself up on her chair to reach over grabbing a large portion of meat, what seemed to be that of a lamb or other more uncommon variety. Her bare hands quickly taking hold as she took the entire piece of meat seeming to not even pick up on the fact it had been partially sliced already with silverware provided to slice off pieces to take. She took hold of the entire slab of meat throwing it on her plate, the meat very easily taking up far more space then the little plate could handle. Like a little feral animal Rhea began to take a bit straight out from the side, using her hands rather then bothering with the silverware far too hungry to care to act proper like she ought to.

Zen listened as Headmaster Ophidian explained everything that was to happen at Rodren University as well as what not to do for combat in specific terms. ~Oh good~ he thought, ~I guess I wont have muscle brains trying to challenge me out right. I just don't want to have to deal with that right now.~ Zenima was further surprised as Headmaster Ophidian snapped his fingers and platefuls upon platefuls of food and goblets of liquids appeared out of thin air in front of him. ~Cool trick, but did he actually do that or was he simply teleporting it, hrm...~ He shook his head as he was thinking about it before continuing his thought process. ~Why am I even thinking about this? I should be enjoying myself and not worrying about things right now. I guess some habits are harder to shake than others.~ Zenima thought back to the parties that the Dawn Roses held after a large successful mission at their base. Things almost always got rowdy and some individuals devolved to fighting every now and then, however, he still couldn't wrap his mind around how this much food was possible.

After eating and drinking his fill, he stood up and began to walk out of the hall following a large crowd of students. Once this crowd had reached its' destination, it became clear that they were each searching for their dormitories and where they would be living for the next few semesters. Zenima craned his neck over the crowd and began to search for his name that would eventually be on one of these lists

((Open for interaction.))

The headmaster held Hedda's rapt attention and respect. But, damn, his lips pressed into a line when the man mentioned 'no swimming'. Would they let him go if he doesn't do anything stupid? The lake looked pretty nice during the ferry ride.... He huffed out the slightest sigh. Best not get on admin's bad side right away, yet simultaneously he resigned himself to at least one visit to the disciplinary office.

The more pressing thing was actually the fighting. The world outside of his small town sure does glorify violence- why would they even have a rule like that right off the bat? Is some mean guy gonna come out the woodworks and beat himself up otherwise? Hedda tensed more. He's way too squishy for that- he can't even handle his hair getting accidentally set on fire. They're going to have self-defense lessons right? Or some practice? Hopefully without getting too hurt in them too.

A symphony of foods lined the tables before his grimace could spread any further. Oh. Well. This does make him feel a little better! Hedda took some bite sized pieces from the assortment and pocketed the rest, having already eaten something earlier, and took the time to look around more. Quite the view from the back, a hall full of high and rambunctious spirits. He'll talk to one when their mouths aren't literally stuffed full.
