Dear hero,

I've recently heard about all your great deeds for our nation, for which I'd like to thank you. Although I'm sure this will just be one of many letters written to you, I sincerely hope you'll find some time to read it.

With the East Empire continuing to attack our nation, spreading its foul habits and practices further and further, it's people like you that allow our people to sleep soundly at night. After all, where would we be without our hero's to defend, inspire and guide us?

Although I am, as of speaking, no more than a humble messenger for our nation, should you ever wish to rely on my talents, I'd be more than happy, no, I'd be honoured to aid you.

Furthermore, if I may be so bold, I would wish to ask a thing of you, hero of our nation. Something very important to me has been taken from, leaving a scar that runs deep. Simply being allowed to meet you might aid me in my quest to recover it, so please, grand me this boldly requested favour one day.

Kind regards,

Euthalia Apricot

Hey hero!

I don't often write letters, but there's something I've got to know now. You see, I was prancing around with some of my satyr friend and they were fauning all over some new Hero. (Get it, faun-ing?). Anyhow, turns out it was a Human one!

That got me by surprised! Then they showed me some drawings and whoo~ If your abs are half as great in reality, you've got a lot of Fae falling for you. I didn't know such heroic abs existed~

To get to why I'm writing you, there's a dear friend of mine who doesn't get along with Humans all that much. I'll be the first to admit I have many qualms against the East Empire, but those don't represent all Humans, I know that much. In fact, you're someone that battled them!

I think meeting a Hero of our nation that's Human might, hopefully, get her to change her views a little~ I saw her write to one of the other hero's and she seemed to double-check her writing a bazillion times, so she respects you guys a lot!

Let me know if we can set-up a meeting,

Iswlyn Meadhra

I don't know why I'm writing this. There's no postal service in this entire continent who could deliver this, and I don't even want you to read this. But, a lot has happened since I came here much of it I don't understand either. I need to get all this out somehow.

Ever since you drove me out or maybe even before that. I've been having these dreams. I can only call them dreams but I don't know what they are anymore, it feels too real and the sensations linger when I awake. Its always the same. I'm in a dark place, there's water, and the only light is from these stars in the sky. And I'm not alone, there's someone there. A "woman" though I loathe to call that thing anything remotely human. I hate looking at it, I feel disgusted to even be near it, but I don't know why. I have these dreams almost every night. It's made me have these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this real or not? None of this makes sense to me.

I'll find out the truth. then I'll return whether you or anyone in that city likes it or not.

Dear High Priest Ceylan,

Your kindness is as encouraging as ever in these dark times. I trust you've made it to the holy city in the distant north safely. Has Nashi reached your side yet? No matter if she has or not, I hope you all are doing well.

It sounds unbelievable, but despite completing our successful escort at Ryke's border and parting ways, my days have not been any less eventful. I wonder if this is why the elders of my village warned us so earnestly of the dangers in the world outside.

I'm sure you've heard by now... but war has broken out.

I wanted nothing more than to stop it from happening, but somehow, here I am, undeservingly crowned hero for a nation I have no ties to. Even you call me a hero, but I... really didn't do anything. I wonder what you, and the pope, see in me to give me such a title?

Sometimes, I can't help but think, even if I would never want to force you into such a scenario, if you had been there, would things have gone differently that day?

I don't know if I ever told you, it is a little embarrassing to even write this, but when you suddenly descended upon us that day, I thought you were an angel.

My memories are still fuzzy of that time. But when bandits suddenly ambushed us and even monsters joined the fray, turning our situation ever more dire, you dashed in out of the blue on a magnificent navy beast and saved us all.

I know I've said it before, but mere words of gratitude cannot express how much I owe you for saving our lives.

I thank you for your offer of home as well, but I could not bare to endanger you by bringing my new status to your doorstep. I will find my own place somewhere, not to worry.

Please, stay far from the warzone. And stay safe.

Sincerely,
Ninelle

As the recipient of Father Ceylan's letter has indicated no ability to read or write the Ryken Postman's Guild will take on the responsibility of transcribing the recipients words and communicating the message of the sender as accurately as possible. This service has a charge of one silver and will be billed to Father Ceylan of the Syncretist Church upon delivery.

Can daddy hear Tia now? Hm? He'll hear Tia later? You liar daddy not hear, Tia doesn't like liars! You promise? Ok Tia believe you, but no trick or Tia will be really mad.

Um, daddy Tia got your "let-ter". Sorry that Tia can't read it, but Tia tried really hard! And don't worry daddy Tia is fine, don't feel bad. Tia's been a good girl and Tia knows Ceylan has "du-ties" like when you went with those funny smelling trees. Tia would like to see daddy again, someday... But daddy shouldn't worry! You are still part of Tia's pack so, so...

Tia lied sorry sorry Tia so sorry. Tia wasn't a good girl and now Tia's alone. Haru, he gone... he died. Tia tried so hard to be good, to keep Haru with Tia but couldn't. Tia sorry, Tia can't see daddy. Tia want too, but shouldn't. Tia's been bad and daddy will hate her, daddy should hate her. Tia's gotten hungrier and hungrier and its hard for Tia. Daddy may get hurt and if that happened... Tia would...

A Note is attached to the letter:
Apologies Father, the girl is unresponsive, and as a representative of the Ryken Postman's Guild I have considered this letter to be done. This is outside my jurisdiction Father but, when I delivered the letter I found her alone in the woods. I don't know the situation but I would humbly request she be taken care of properly. I'll see about getting her something to eat then I shall consider my job done.

Dear High Priest Ceylan,

I heavily disagree with your kind and overly beautified impression of who I am. But, perhaps it is those optimistic views of yours what makes you who you are. Those eyes that can only see the good in others, are likely part of why you have been blessed with an unfathomable and miraculous power by those above. So, don't think I'm berating you too much.

Freedom is something I dearly missed. It is a big reason how I even found the courage to plan such a dangerous thing such as escape in the first place. I was taken from home when I was old enough to have a certain clarity on matters, so it was especially difficult for me to suddenly adjust to a life of hardship. Though fortunately, Lirek was by my side.

I still cannot thank you enough for bringing him back. He is like a second father figure to me. Without his wisdom, it is no doubt I would've died miserably in that forsaken place with my young and ignorant arrogance. He's doing very well now, as energetic as ever, grumbling about everyday things as per usual.

My newfound freedom has been sweet. The roads home felt so foreign yet so familiar. My mother and father had unfortunately passed before I could reunite with them, but there were many elders from home that were happy to see me. Being welcomed back with open arms, and seeing old friends again, much of it was thanks to you all.

So, please be well. Lirek and I will soon travel the continent, and the Holy City of Vegard is naturally on our list. We will pay our debts back to you in some shape or form, so expect our visit in the future.

Taji

P.S. If it bothers you, I will not use my magic to aid you. Though it is the pride of my family, I would not want my assistance to make you uncomfortable.

Dear High Priest!

Warmest greetings!

I hope my letter reaches you. I am Yugo, a stranger from a foreign land. I will be straightforward with my intentions. First, I would like to praise you for the good deeds you have done for others and miracles you have shared with the world. And second, if our paths cross, request for your help.

I am unsure on details of the situation I am in. I do not know if this is an isolated event, if there are more like me, or whether this is even allowed. I have encountered someone who introduced themselves as [god] and explained to me why and how I was brought to this place. I am aware that this all sounds insane. Every time I wished to approach others, a massive wave of hesitancy would overwhelm me. As if something beyond my control was telling me to not do it. However, when I learned of the accolades of the Wandering Saint, it felt right. Honestly, I don't really know how to explain it.

I do not wish to take much of your time right now, so if you agree to help me, please write back.

Sincerely yours,
Yugo

Dear Zahrah,

It is fortunate you have corresponded with me. As you have thought of me I have considered you as well. The circumstances that arose within "The Mile High Club" were unfavorable to many. I did not encounter these terrorists, however. I was uncertain as to your fate after we were separated. It is favorable that with this correspondence I can be assured of your continued functionality.

I express gratitude that you were pleased with the composition of my framework. My outer appearance has been altered somewhat by extensive damage and further still by the repairs that followed. Your position on my being "cool" may shift in response to these changes. If you still find the interpretation of my disposition to be relevant then I would pursue further talks on the matter as you have requested. Though I profess to lacking fundamental understanding of "cool".

Furthermore, I do possess the archives of our interactions. As I have come upon a great responsibility they have expressed greater relevancy. If you find yourself within the Eastern Empire I would request we meet, your ability to manage the emotional levels of mortals would be paramount to my work.

With flattering regards,
Ingenium

Dear Ceylan,

I hope this letter reaches you in good health, alongside Taji's.

It was surprising to the both of us to hear that this was your first act of resurrection. Now that you've achieved such a feat once, I almost fear what would happen if you were to try again. Your power remains so mind-boggling to me, I never would've thought I'd get to see, or even personally experience, such a miracle in my lifetime. I was always just an ordinary folk compared to the likes of you and the others.

But you have no need to fret over my situation dear priest, I am as well as ever. If you fret over all the people you save, I would worry for your health. After you cured all the scars accumulated over my lifetime, I have never been more energetic. I hear the birds chirp when I awake, and I run freely without a walking stick. Although I've reassured him countless times, Taji still worries unnecessarily, advising me to stop climbing trees or cliff faces just for fun, but I am having the time of my life. Did you know there were trees the height of giants in Ryke? It was such a fascinating sight to see, perhaps if you were there, you would've understood my impulsive desire to climb them.

On to family matters, you really don't take no for an answer do you? You nosy fellow. But I appreciate your sentiments. I barely remember my parents, I was taken very young. Wandered too far from home, and that was it. I was quite the naughty child after all. At this point, I wouldn't know how to face them. It's been decades. But after I sort out my head and relish my freedom a little more, I will likely make use of your aid, Ceylan.

You are very much too kind, I fear for you. Someone in such a high position and with such power, being so kind? I can only hope you have surrounded yourself with capable and like-minded people, dear priest.

I heard from Taji about what happened after my death. Negotiating with the very person gunning for your life, how courageous of you. I know she has swapped sides, but be careful of that one. Nashi is very capable. Too capable in fact. So much so, they had to use her daughter to lock her down. She can do anything she sets her mind to, and can even smile and kill without hesitation, so tread carefully.

I know Taji has already told you, but we'll be travelling the continent soon. Seeing the sights and exploring life beyond the empire, you know, the expected things. We'll come visit at some point. Stay safe up there in the north, hope it doesn't get too cold, especially after your tail fur was trimmed!

Your good ol' blue-skinned frog friend,
Lirek

Dear mister Yugo,

Thank you for your praise, but it was merely the gods that worked through me. Accepting the miracles as my own work would not do justice to the power they allowed me to share with others.

As for your question. It is uncommon, but it is not unheard of for people to meet a deity. I am not sure which deity you speak of, but there is one that comes to mind. I recently learned more regarding the deity Holfeel, who's domain is that of of guidance and reincarnation. Perhaps you may write her priestess Eris Granstone or meet her at her basilica in Bishri, the capital of the See. She would allow you to learn if Holfeel has guided you into this place and if Holfeel was the deity you speak of.

Should we ever meet, I'd be willing to aid you personally as well, but I am unsure how to aid someone with whatever your particular problem might be, for I fail to understand it. I'm sorry that I cannot aid your further, but I hope I at least aided your search.

May the gods be with you,

Ceylan

Though disappointed at the uncertainty of the Wandering Saint's words, Yugo was still thankful and remained hopeful. The situation he presented to Ceylan was incredibly vague, but despite that, the high priest was still able to offer him information and help that could lead him to the answers he was searching for.

Dear High Priest,
I am glad to hear from you. Your humility is commendable and certainly what I would expect from someone of your status. Despite the accolades you have achieved, it is refreshing to see that you remain so down to earth. And please, you do not need to apologize. The information that you have shared to me is more than what I was expecting. Thank you for being honest with me.
Though my knowledge regarding the See is lacking, I will reach out to the priestess that you had mentioned. It may only be my intuition, but I believe that this is the path that I was meant to take. Thank you again for your assistance and taking the time to write to me.
May the gods be with you as well,
Yugo

Sehr geehrter Baroness Caelia,

Let me first congratulate you on your appointment to Baroness. It is a responsibility befitting of your pedigree. You may not recall me, as our previous interaction was somewhat brief. We each sat within the aptly named "Round Table" meeting. I gave a momentary dialogue suitable for my position. Though I profess to my being allowed there to be a surprise, albeit a welcome one.

The point of my sending this letter is twofold. Firstly to fulfill my mission as a foreign dignitary. As a representative of the German Empire within this continent I have my duties as an ambassador. The other reason is basic curiosity. It is rare where I come from to see a woman in so high a position, I myself am a rare exception. Perhaps it is more common here, however?

As a woman in service to her people much like myself, I extend to you my respect. While I will be rather busy in the coming months with my work. Should you wish to convene in the future diplomatically or personally I am willing to accommodate you. I imagine we would have much to talk about.

Dein Baronin Caelia

Thank you for your congratulations.

It has been long since I've been able to write in one of my mother tongues. I've been surprised by your ability to comprehend it.

Being a woman was once a problem. Now it's of a far less problematic nature.

Your letter raises many questions in me. Since when is the German Empire independent from the Holy Roman Empire? In what manner do you stay in contact with the German Empire?

I'm highly interested in meeting you. I'd love to discuss both these questions and future issues.

Anonymously dropped off as a relatively larger than usual envelope at the doorstep of Stonewall’s Tavern, with a small note saying to bring it to either or preferably both the Baroness and her closest adversary.

- - -

Inside the envelope was not only a letter, but also a folded map of the Sadek County. Most specifically was a circled area on one of the river routes just passing Lassiter. A smaller folded piece of paper was attached below it, and when unfolded, showed an ink drawing that looked as though it was made in slight haste, yet despite that, the drawn image was still clear.

The drawing itself consisted of a riverside, with the waters drawn at a smooth tide and flow. On the surface next to it however held the form of what looked like 3 heaps of metal, 2 longer than the 3rd which was lying about behind them. Each of which looked as though they were torn off of something larger, made apparent by the bent chunks and broken fragments around it. For those familiar with what they were though, it would come to realization those were the treads and a considerable chunk of the hull of one known as Pierre Rothel.

The surface behind the debris held the trail of Tread imprints leading to where they stopped, but further ahead, the surface prints were erratic, spazzed out even, with splotches of dirt that looked slightly dug up by something and even wide swiping marks near a few trees.

“ Greetings, Ms. Baroness Caelia,

Before I get started, I must request first that you acquire company of potentially someone else who knows of the individual you called Pierre.

You may not know who I am, but that will be revealed in due time. I had happened to come across one of the letters you’ve sent for the return of one known as Pierre. Ironically enough I was mistaken for an adventurer and given a copy from the guild.

Aside from that, after reading the letter, I took it upon myself to attempt a search, or at least a search of clues as to where your friend had ‘rolled’ per se. I decided to join the search as this kind of situation reminded me of a similar series of events that had occurred earlier in my life.. Its outcome was full of anguish, and I simply wish to make it so that this doesn't end the same way mine did.

One thing I looked to for reference were quiet paths for those that wish to avoid interaction by the masses. Which, in my hometown, consists of the riverside. That area has been quiet as of recently mainly due to the fishermen of the village having gone to another settlement to resupply. The first thing I saw upon my arrival were two horizontal trails leading on for quite some time. Almost an hour if I recall.. It was unfortunate that it was rather late in the afternoon which I started, though I may continue when I have the time once more.

It was close to dark when I had found it. Though it is not my place whether to tell if it is a clue to where your friend has gone, or in worst case scenario, the remains of your friend's corpse. I certainly hope it is not the latter, it would be devastating.

If you may find the time, or by any chance that you find yourself close to Lassiter, may I request that we meet by the entrance to the area? The trail left ahead of these fragments leads me to believe that there's something more to this..

I wish to hear back from you, and should you respond, simply direct the letter to Lassiter. I can pick it up from there and send a reply.

- Best of Regards."

Being surrounded by so many of my fellow clergymen and women constantly, it has honestly been a long time since I've gotten to meet a new comrade of the cloth. So I give my deepest gratitude for having this chance.

The path to peace is one I know well. It's a constant debate I have with myself throughout my days. To what extent is force necessary to attain peace? At what state of being is it considered 'peace'? I'm sure you're familiar with such constant back and forths.

I know not what a field of golden poppies look like. As I have recently started on my adventures outside of town, I hope to someday get the opportunity to find out.

I had decided to step out of my comfort zone in search of the beautiful and noble souls that are so sparse around this massive cruel world of ours. Seeing your letter of appreciation from a stranger, is one such occurrences that put a smile on my face.

Sir Ceylan, may we someday meet and discuss these topics in person when the time comes and may the gods guide you along your path.
