Sigrun watched the battle from the bridge with the security cameras installed in those section. It seems the crew are holding up just fine in the fight, at least they didn’t get wiped out within 5 seconds after fire fight started from some thermal detonators.

“Miss Mackenzie, if I give you the signal,” Sigrun said to the ship’s pilot while thinking of a contingency plan, she fastened the harness seat belt “Switch off the Inertia Negation System and pull a 13G manoeuvre to a random direction on your choice. If the crew in hanger bay couldn’t fight off the boarding party, we could at least try rocking the ship before taking more drastic measures.”

Army poser? ARMY POSER?????? "You dare call me a fucking army man? I, am a goddamn marine, who was born to kill and dismember his enemies! You dare call me a member of the twit patrol????" The pirates had achieved the impossible: they pissed off Ray. Ray opened the crate which held his M41A pulse rifle and hefted the gun. He pointed it towards the ship, and yelled angrily at them, "Say hello, to my little friend! And when you reach hell, tell my old man who sent you!" Ray fired the under barrel grenade launcher directly at the craft, too pissed off now to try and spare it.

Arisu Ize
Arisu smiled under her mask as she attached and fired a explosive straight into where the cockpit was, it seemed Ray didn’t care about using explosives so why should she! This seemed like the ideal time to detonate some of the explosives, all she would have to hope for was that the hanger structure was strong enough to support fire, which she guessed it was due to it being made to be a hangar bay. As she watched the plasma gun which had been poking out stutter to a halt she decided to do something equally stupid and effective in her mind. Quickly she ran over to the side of the ship and teleported up to where the person wielding had been, it was quite strenuous to teleport but she decided if she wanted to get up there it was the best idea. Upon making it up there she opened fire at all the pirates she could see, using infra red to find them.

A ship of that size probably wasn't going to be stopped even by all the firearms at their disposal. They were expecting a full on barrage but he knew this was a fool's errand. That ship was full of desperate people with a desperate plan; a part of him was morbidly curious both as to what it was, wondering why that android had decided to hop on board.

The enemy after all were walking into an ambush.

As much damage as his hellhammer could inflict, it was still too early to out himself as a trump card just yet. They were close but he needed them closer; close enough they would feel arrogant and cocky enough to exit the safety of their vessel.

The pirate had, unintentionally but surely, crossed the line with his taunt for Ray. Two consecutive shots of explosives did heavy damage to the frontal armor of the ship-it was built for space travel, but not for two angry explosions. The cockpit window received a wide crack, but miraculously survived the strike. But it did not survive the pulse rounds.
High velocity energy rounds shattered the dying glass and rained upon Jamie Oliver the Space Pirate. The man was no more, and so was the ship's manual control. The ship's deadman switch activated its safety measures, the thrusters adjusting themselves so that the ship maintained its position instead of move any further.

Arisu's teleportation attempt was a success. Almost missing the opened backdoor of the pirate ship, she managed to land on the platform. Four pirates were standing all at the opening, ready to jump down. It seemed that she hit the jackpot.
An awkward silence lasted for exactly .43 seconds until the android opened fire. The practically useless protection they wore were no match against her rifle rounds, and they were all dead.

"Situation neutralized. The ship's hovering, but a simple tweaking with the controls will bring it back on ground. Great job, crew."

Sigrun
Essex’s Navigator

The elf let out a sigh of relief as the situation died down in the hanger bay. She then returned the reactor from ready to overload back to normal configuration.

Sigrun had heard tales of the namesake of this ship. The whaling boat Essex, with her crew resorting to cannibalism when they are desperately stranded and lost in the open sea before they miraculously survived. The superstitious sailor side of her wonder if she should do the preparation.

“Honey, it’s Sigrun here.” She called the cuisine android she had brought before she came on board. It’s not the brightest AI out there but she should be able to do the task this time “ go and collect the bodies of those pirates in the hanger bay, wash them up and put those bodies into the ship’s freezer room. That’ll be all.”

She then went to the refrigerator on the bridge and took out a bottle of Beck’s beer and open it with a piece of newspaper——German could use anything to crack open a bottle, bottle opener are for the Untermensc....ahem, for the weak anyway.

Ray was still boiling, and we walked past Sigrun, but stopped just before passing him. Not making eye contact, he told the elf "Clean this damn mess up. Debriefing in 30 mikes." Then Ray walked away. He was fuming, he had given the pirates the benefit of the doubt after all, but noooo, they had to start shooting up his inheritance. Fucking Army, Ray thought to himself, More like Aren't Really Marines Yet.

Honey stood proud like a military general looking down at her troops after an impressive victory. Only Honey was a cook. And her army was platters and platters of sauerkraut, pork roast, mushroom kebabs, and traditional German sides. She took a big whiff of the blood, sweat, and tears of her culinary force and began to lay out a stack of plates and eating utensils for when the crew was ready.

That’s when Sigrun rang in on the comm.

Yes, ma’am, I will get right on it! Will you please let the crew know that food is prepared in the galley?”

She grabbed two— no three kebabs and hung one from her mouth (after all, a girls gotta eat), before heading off towards the cargo bay.

"Guten Tag, Frau Arisu." Sigrun nodded and return the courtesy as she is enjoying the Beck's, she then notified the crew about the mess being prepared via the ship's intranet system. The captain haven't assign a new location to travel to yet, so basically it's free time all around, which isn't something she could've expect when she was in the starfleet.

She have her legs crossed and open the newspaper that she used to open the beer bottle. It's all same shit different days, Riverton Corporation advertising new firearms in the market, Waltz Co is still earning that nostalgic money: this time they're selling Martini–Henry rifles, probably so that people can reenact Rorke's Drift in space or something. Russians are protesting accusing President Putin for corruption, some new progress in the olive branch project, and Clairvoyance Cataclysm is going to announce some new models of AI, some reports of the expedition team at the far reach of another satellite galaxies from the other side of the Einstein-Rosen bridge...boring

She flipped the page to the jobs in the employment sections. People had been posting jobs in these papers for freelance starships like Essex. And she saw there's one about an escort mission with on-land transport on Pasque-221 from research station to spacecraft launch station. It's not far away, only 402AU, probably a rogue planet or something. This distance could be covered in 2 days 7 hours had they travel at exactly the speed of light. Or if they really are in a hurry, the Essex could be there in around...20 seconds, if they use the maximum output of the FTL drive. But she would wait to see if the captain have any further assignment for the crew.

Mr Person’s sudden enragement startled Keiran for a moment but he didn’t lose focus on his target. As his pulse rounds penetrated the windshield, he could barely hear the muffled cries of the captain and immediately seized fire. Keiran only wanted to injure the pirates enough to stop their ship from coming any closer, not outright kill them. They had done nothing to him or his people and so, he had no quarrel with them.

At that moment, Arisu teleported onto the platform and quickly foiled his plans, killing everyone on board the vessel in a matter of seconds. The gunner sighed as he lowered his weapon and slung it on his back. This battle was over before it had even truly begun. These poor men, how desperate must they have been to turn to piracy? Was it poverty, desertion, lust for riches or perhaps just the thrill of a fight? Keiran would never know the answer it seems. “Arisu, lower the ship before coming down, will you!”, he called to the security bot.

Arisu sat down inside the ship and leaned against the wall breathing heavily, teleporting took quite a bit of effort and ended up making her quite tired after. As she just rested for a bit Keiran called up to her and told her to lower the ship. Slowly she nodded onboard the ship and walked over to the controls, once the had successfully landed the ship she casually and slowly walked out of the ship and went all the way to her room. Not bothering to talk to anyone on the way there. In her room she just sat down on her bed and projected some new information that had been gathered, making sure to read all of it before closing it down. As she glanced around the room she yawned, it would be awesome to sleep right now but she decided if she was going to sleep she might as well get a treat before doing so. Silently she walked out of her room and walked to the fridge near the bridge, casually she opened it up and began looking around for what she wanted to drink. After a bit of searching she finally settled on some Vodka, a special treat she usually only got every once and a while and since it was here she might as well drink it because she was in a good mood. Then, she proceeded to walk to the lounge which was where she decided she was going to sleep once she finished her Vodka. So, she relaxed for a bit just casually drinking her Vodka until it was all gone. Once it was finished she walked around the room and set up an Electro Magnetic Pulse field in the room, despite it having no effects on her it always seemed to make her sleep a little better. It also provided nice protection against intruders, as she laid down on the couch she had her nano-bots run updates and repairs on her while she slept.

The pirates surrendered rather too easily. Sarah felt early suspicions warming on her chest with every second the ship closes the distance gap between the gun's range to the point that the ship's main weaponry is no longer effective. This worried her as it felt like a naval boarding assault in disguise, in contrast to their disguise as the military. She could only watch the hangar open its gates to these space pirates. Sooner or later the hangar bay had crewmates greeting them upon entry.

Switching to the cam feed on sector Hangar bay. Watching the scene unfold from the cockpit, a decoy was deployed from the pirate ship before the targets turned blue to red faces within seconds. Muzzle flashing and roaring gunshots filled the hangar. The Ship tried to move around the Hangar like a caged animal using its massive size to retaliate against its captors. The critical hit was the final nail on the coffin. The ship became lifeless as its crew, Sarah had little interference with the fight whatsoever. Merely observing the events unfold. Not even a hint of worry through the visor. It was only then she stood up to check on the hangar bay. Almost half the crew already left to rest.

"Inaros, keep the ship steady and radars on. I will come back."

Turning the thrusters off to basically making the ship as steady as a satellite. The bridge became lonely as she walked down the hall leading the cargo bay. During her trip towards the Hangar, she did catch a glimpse of a small figure making a turn before disappearing completely out of sight. Was that the robot from the storage earlier? Now that she realized it, she did not see the Captain anywhere. She paid no mind to it as she made it to the ruined ship. There she saw the gehennian and another crew member she is unfamiliar with. There were a lot of faces she is not familiar with, to be honest. Walking over to Kei, she laid her hand onto them.

"Excellent work. Let's bring this back home."

The helmet covered her head entirely, giving a muffled sound from her low voice. Gazing upon the ship, she thought that the failed plan might have even had a small spark of chance even working in the first place. The uniforms she and the captain were wearing felt more like costumes rather than actual disguises. Noticing that the captain has left the scene made her think of possible places where he could have been. Looking back to the scaly gunman, She asked.

"Did the Captain leave?"

She had a bit of time to clean a little. She would likely leave halfway through the cleanup to attend the ship and turn over the dead pirates.

Thanks. That was some good shooting on your part.” Keiran had barely time to finish the sentence as Arisu was already leaving the scene. She looked exhausted, perhaps from the use of her teleportation ability. For a moment, he wondered how robots like her recharged. Did they plug a charger into an outlet, did they have built-in solar cells that required sunlight or did they just sleep like organic beings? Keiran hadn’t spent a lot of time around robots and didn’t know much about their capabilities but was always curious to find more about them. The gunner shrugged and walked closer to the ship. The battle was won but there was still a lot of work to be done.

I guess you and I are in charge of cleanup.”, he said and glanced over to the anthropod security whose name he still didn’t know. It was then that Sarah entered the hanger bay and placed a hand on his shoulder, from which he quickly pulled away. The Gehennain was not only unaccustomed to human touch but also didn’t want his sharp scales to accidentally injure someone. They were very capable of piercing through his already ragged coat.

Yes, quite angrily too. I’m sorry if this may sound like a stupid question but what’s the difference between an army man and a marine?”, the gunner asked hesitantly and stepped towards the ship. Despite being common knowledge for most humans, the Gehennian was quite unfamiliar with all the different types of army forces. His homeworld didn’t wage wars and thus had no need for a military.

As Keiran entered the ship’s interior, however, he immediately wished he had left the job to somebody else, much like the other crew members had done. The stench of gunpowder, rusty iron, excreta and even molten plastic filled his lungs and made him cough. He grimaced under his cloth mask that did only little to reduce the smell.

Keiran had planned on checking the pirates for a pulse, hoping to discover survivors, but seeing the bodies, mutilated and torn to pieces by the hail of bullets and bolts, he decided against it. He carefully stepped around a puddle of blood, grabbed the first man by the collar and dragged him towards the exit.

"How typical; the corporate rat is little more than a common thug with a better set of tools."

The voice came from behind Keiran with little noise to herald its arrival. The enormous vrexul's expression was unreadable; a harsh mask of shaped carapace and monstrous mandibles but the harsh, sardonic buzz to his voice made his feelings clear.

Multiple antennae emerged from on and around his skull as his began to investigate the ship, carefully stepping over the broken bodies that had been so brutally dealt with mere minutes earlier.

"I suppose to expect the capability for mercy from such people is a far cry. Glorified jackboots; even I take little pleasure when a bastard deserves it."
He continued, a few of his antennae twitching as smoking electrical panels stung his senses with the pungent, burnt reek of shattered and burnt wiring. "To me, not much. Two arrogant flavours of centuries old human superiority. One drinks hard and beats his loved ones harder than the other, under the impression they are a different breed of stormrooper."

Two bodies were held in his hands like sagging bags of groceries. He didn't take long to exit, two more dragged against the floor with his auxiliary limbs.

With Inaros’ announcement and the Captain’s instructions, Del sat straighter at his terminal. Ray’s instructions weren’t exactly to him but he would be able to offer some assistance there. He was determined to stay at the terminal however: given the rate of fire and the sudden silence, he could make a good guess as to what happened. As it had all unfolded, he’d shuddered several times, seeing the power of the ship’s security force. It wasn’t that he was unaware of what security teams aboard ships had to do, it was that this particular one was so colourful, so undisciplined, so by-the-beat-of-their-own-drum that he saw absolutely no way to control them. He was fairly sure he ranked above all of them considering he held Head Engineer as his title – though the chain of command was something he’d have to ask the Captain about as soon as possible – but doubted any of them would listen to him.

Maybe it didn’t bear thinking about. He didn’t have to command any of them now, did he?

The ship was down safely in the hangar, courtesy of Arisu. For now, he could run some further tests without actually checking out the physical ship.

He wasn’t eager to see bodies today. Or ever. Even the thought of those pirates lying dead in their own ship, sprawled on floors they’d walked around on not even ten minutes ago, made him lightheaded.

As he was watching the scene from a camera feed however, he saw Reizlav exit the ship, carrying bodies. His expression contorted and he stood up, physically getting away from it all. Maybe he would wait after all, then conduct a physical inspection after everything was done.

Yes, that’s all he could do. Without being sick, at least.

He decided to send a message around the ship, informing the other crew of that.

“In regards to this ship we have obtained, Engineering will carry out a full physical examination of the ship when the scene has been secured and the deceased removed. Anyone wishing to assist with this examination stand by.”

He quietly hoped one of the security force would accompany him. He was still terrified of every one of them, but he was even more worried about traps or something awful happening if he went in alone. The ship was very low-tech, too low for the scan to pick up on anything too useful, so who knew what they had? They could have a bear trap disguised as a rug.

Was he overly paranoid?

Probably.

Still. Worth being careful. Right? Maybe that wasn't worth thinking about either. He took a breath and with it came the much more comforting scent of a meal. Clearly the ship's cook had prepared something. That'd do. That'd be a worthwhile distraction, and a good excuse. Sorry, Captain, couldn't help out, far too hungry, might faint unless I eat. Perfect excuse. Though he didn't exactly look frail considering he had a farm-boy's shoulders...

He decided to turn his brain off and left Engineering for the moment. He'd see what Honey had prepared. See, smell and eat, hopefully.

Brohdish hadn’t stayed at his terminal. When Inaros had declared the area was free of conflict, he stood swiftly and headed there. He'd seen Sarah leave a few moments before, and decided that he too would be more use down there than up on the bridge, for the time being. It took a few minutes for him to get down there, and as he went he switched out his lens in his monocle. The one he selected would help him see blood, enhancing biological matter within range of the little sensor burst, which was about 15 feet. He could assist with the cleanup and identify potential contaminants.

He moved through the ship with purpose, but stumbled over his own hooves with the shock of seeing Reizlav in the flesh-and-chitin again. He steadied himself and grinned at both the big creature and the small one. The small one was, of course, Keiran. He could also see Sarah a little way off. Looks like he'd be joining her in the job of cleanup.

“Yer doin’ the shit job, are ye? It’s gotta be said, ah’m glad you’re the one doin’ it. Ah don’t think ah could move two at once.”

Maybe he should feel wary of this huge creature, but he’d rather mellowed out after it seemed he was meant to be on the ship. Better to be friendly than to be hostile. This wasn’t a clan-to-clan passing, full of bared tusks and prominent war scars, this was simply a screw member talking to other crew members. Same clan type stuff.

“What’s the situation on the ship?” he asked them both. “Oh and, are there any things ye reckon ah should take samples of and test? Ah’ll have a poke around meself, obviously, but you guys were on the front line as it were, so any pointers’d be appreciated.”

An indoor scan of the ship's hangar bay gave the AI a positive result. All five of the target pirates deceased, and the ship itself barely damaged. Other than the dent the missed round made, there was no much work to do in terms of repair. The artificial mind felt a spark of satisfaction at the crew's rather efficient work. Though their plan went south at the end, this was a positive ending.

Ray was fuming, and knew if he gave Inaros any orders he would tell it to blow the damn thing to smithereens. Instead, he said, "Plot a course for New Finland, we are pretty close, only two jumps away. Tell the Engi to strip the ship, and check the ship's nav logs, see if we can find their base." He entered his office, and threw himself in his office chair. He threw his hat and revolver on the desk, and emptied the gun. He was fuming, he had given them a chance he never had. A chance to leave.

As her systems came online again Arisu ran a standard self diagnostic on herself making sure she was working without any errors before opening her eyes and readjusting them to the light. As she sat upwards she let out a small yawn and began to clean up the EMP device she had put down as well as the Vodka bottle which she had left. Putting the EMP device back into her backpack and the Vodka bottle into the garbage can. She was in quite a good mood which she usually was after restarting herself due to having her programs restart as well and often made her much more friendly unlike when she was primarily focused on combat based objectives. Checking her shoulder though to make sure her AK was still there as despite how nice she could get losing her AK entirely would be very bad. Satisfied that it was still there she stood up slowly and began to walk towards Ray’s office as he seemed to be in a bad mood, on the way there she saw a glimpse of the kitchen and of Honey’s food. Rays plate appeared to be there and seeing as she was heading there anyway she took a short detour to carefully grab his plate and continue to walk to his office. Upon getting there she softly knocked on the door before opening it up and walking in, setting his food in front of him

“Hello Captain, Honey prepared this food for you. I wanted to make sure you were okay after what happened”

her voice sounded soft and nice,

Ray turned towards her, and crossed his arms, which were covered in blood. "Thanks Arisu. Please give Honey my appreciation." He took a bite of the Fried chicken, but not before dipping it in his mashed potatoes. "Give the chef my regards. And good shooting." He said. He didn't like killing, but someone with a good shot was never bad to have. If you want peace, prepare for war. He also began to think back to when he thought she was a psycho, but after this, he thinks she may have genuine care for those around her, even if she thought lowly of organics. But if she really was a psycho, as least she was their psycho.

Arisu nodded slightly and made a mental note to tell Honey that Ray liked her food when she next saw her. When Ray complemented her she her eyes widened a little bit in surprise but quickly returned to normal. Had he really just complemented her shooting? She had always just been told it was nothing special but Ray appeared to have thought otherwise. Either way however it was very nice and unnecessary of him to say but he did it anyway, so she bowed to him.

"Thank you Captain!"

She was feeling very happy and a bit confused why Ray had bothered to compliment her but she decided that he probably had his own reasons and that she might as well just take it. Her voice continued to sound like it did earlier. After a bit she stood up straight again and faced him.

"Anything else you need done Sir?"

"Yes," He said, and stared into her eyes seriously. He then broke this face immediately into a grin and said "Next time you want vodka, just ask." He opened a drawer and handed her a bottle. "And don't get drunk on duty. Other than that, enjoy some off time. You earned it." He then continued to eat, ignoring the pain in his arms. "One more thing, can you get me a Medkit? And see if anyone in the crew knows a doctor."

Inaros marked Ray's words. It calculated the shortest, and safest travel route for their newly set destination. The route was sent directly to Sarah, along with all the necessary data it could gather for her. Once the pilot had the route checked and confirmed their travel, the ship would initiate its travel. The AI then set the engines to charge up for the two FTL jumps they'd make in the way. Two consecutive jumps weren't enough to overload the engine, but there had to be a few minutes of time between each jumps for the sake of the giant machine.
"Setting course to: New Finland. Ms. Mackenzie, please prepare for Faster Than Light travel. Engines charging for Jump Sequence. Estimated travel time: 94 minutes. Captain, would you mind if I contact the New Finland Marshal so we may receive our bounty without the need to travel to Kepler-62f?"

"That would be lovely HAL. I would appreciate that" Ray responded, and continued eating his chicken. He loved it. The Chicken tasted better that his mother's, and she knew how to cook. He was still bleeding, and the adrenaline was wearing off. His arms hurt a fuck ton, but he didn't care. The chicken's flavor and his nostalgia overrode the pain he was feeling. It brought him back to a time before the Marines, before the clusterfucks, the loss of friends, and the sensory overload of combat. The nostalgia brought something out in him he hadn't felt in years. All he heard in his head was one song...

Arisu looked at the bottle of vodka ray held out and swiftly grabbed it from his hand. She stared at the bottle of Vodka and hugged it, she really loved vodka and chuckled a little bit when Ray mentioned getting drunk. As far as she was concerned she wasn't able to get drunk however some of her siblings had told her she did indeed get drunk, very easily and when she did "get drunk" did some......"interesting things". Smiling a bit under her mask she shrugged those thoughts aside and bowed to thank Ray.

"Thank you "

After that she stood back up and handed Ray a box of bandages.

"It's not a full medkit but it'll stop the bleeding for now, I recommend you seek professional help however"

Taking the bandages she wrapped them around Ray's bloody arms and nodded to him. She then proceeded to walk away

"Food is ready. Please come and get it." Honey had finally found the comms button.

With the food spread out for serving, she stood by the door, waiting for crewmember to stop by the galley for a bite. Her posture was robotically straight as she stood facing the door. Bare shoulders back, heels together, apron dust off, and hair tied up tightly. She seemed to wait a while until the remnant heat from the oven had almost completely dissipated and a chill crept back around her. She moved her hands to either of her arms and rubbed them a bit and begin to doubt anyone was coming. She was a little afraid to try the comm again. After a while longer, she had removed her heels, loosened her hair back up, and was slouched over the island counter. She was lost in thought.
