Fantasy Hunter's Moon: The Sin & Sentence [IC] [CLOSED]

The double-helmets really were a wise decision after all, even if it looks and feels incredibly awkward. Unfortunately, the armor of these pride demons isn't so durable, and now Leakhena switches to her sword now that she's made an opening with her whip.

Wallace was dead, and the Pride Demons' ranks were thinning rapidly much to Venextos' relief as he took yet another blow. It could have been the one to take him out of action, but Takato's skill helped keep him, and others, in the fight as he felt himself somewhat rejuvenated. He was intent on finishing this fight finally, and perhaps having to deal with Kellea afterwards, as he purple lightning crackled in between his hands before sending it outwards to the pride demon he had been fighting relentlessly.

He had always thought about those nights. The night he was robbed of the humanity he held so dear. The night he couldn't kill the man responsible for it. He wanted this to happen. He dreamed about it like a mad man. And yet, Wallace's pathetic pleas and shouting only made Jakob realize that this is not what who he was. He did what he thought was right. This broken man, consumed by his own pride, was long past forgiveness. He simply ended Wallace's suffering. With a sigh, Jakob began calming down a bit. There was a bit of relief knowing this bastard wouldn't terrorize his friends any further, but now they had to handle the remaining demons. Still in his werewolf form, Jakob charged at the nearest demon. And, if possible, call the attention of the others.

"Ack!" Wesley grunted as the demon's blade entered his shoulder, he used his left arm to push the Pride demon and it's sword away from him. He grabs his other sword and swung the blade towards the demon's elbow, hoping to cut off its sword-holding limb.

Seriphine decided to support Wesley and engaged the same demon. A flurry of stabs and cuts were unleashed upon the enemy as a follow-up to Wesley's own attack.

Now that Wallace was out of the way, the group refocused their efforts on slaying Kellea's pride demons. Henderson, whom was having trouble dispatching his foe, found help from Riberta. As he slammed his hammer down to try and shatter the pride demon's chest plate, he rolled out of the way yet again and popped up. Planning to stab Henderson through the chest, he wouldn't get the chance. Three pronged forks burst from his chest, and he soon found himself quickly being lifted into the air...arcing over Riberta's head before being violently slammed onto his head. The force of the slam was so powerful that his neck snapped upon impact, along with his horns, but Riberta didn't stop. She jerked the trident back out, before marching over and delivering a vicious curb stomp which smashed the demon's head.

Hudson and Mariette both rushed the same target, whom attempted to defend himself accordingly. Hudson, as he neared, delivered several swipes that the demon parried, but Mariette's sword would find itself driving into the creature's spine. Blood spurted from the wound, coating the sword as well as parts of Mariette's armor with blood, before she yanked the blade back out and swiftly beheaded the demon. Venextos, determined to end things with his foe, was successful in striking the pride demon with a bolt of purple lightning. The lightning surged through the demon, forcing him to lock up and drop his sword. And soon, the strength of the lightning would grow until the demon was fried on the spot. Venextos eventually stopped, letting the burnt corpse of the pride demon drop to the ground.

Takato refocused his efforts on assisting Wesley in putting down the Pride Demon that he was fighting. Wesley's strike did as he expected, the blade driving deep into the demon's arm before severing it at the elbow. As the demon recoiled in pain, he found himself dodging Takato's blows before being struck by Seriphine, whom arrived out of nowhere to strike the demon across the back. He rushed Wesley again, swinging but missing the ninja vampire. Jakob, meanwhile, targeted the pride demon that Seriphine had ignored. Rushing in, he delivered some painful swipes to the demon, who attempted to counter attack with his sword. He was forced to miss, however, when something fast and strong plowed into him, sending him sailing and skidding across the white sand. It was Cassandra, whom had chosen to help the lycan constable. "Ah, Jakob! Excellent work dispatching Wallace." she said, with a smile. "Now...shall we slaughter this one?" She pointed her estoc at the demon, whom was getting back up off the ground.

Leakhena swung her sword at her foe once more, narrowly missing as the demon managed to dodge the swing. But he wouldn't get a chance to strike back. As he raised his sword, yelling something in the demonic language towards Leakhena (something about gluttony demons), a gladius blade erupted from his mouth. Vincent had rushed up and shoved the blade through the back of his head. "SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH." spat Vincent, before jerking the blade out and swinging at the side of the demon's head. The blade sliced through, cutting the demon's head in half.

Gwen struck her demon once more, whom attempted to counter attack with a swing of his own. He'd miss, as the elf quickly rolled out of the way to avoid it.

Jerking her sword out of the demon's back, Mariette was splattered with his blood. As the creature crumbled to the ground at her feet, she stood frozen there, quivering, as the hunger she had been resisting gripped her relentlessly. She briefly locked eyes with Hudson, baring her clenched teeth in a snarl as her armor seemed to bristle and sharpen all around her, and the hunter knew at once to prepare himself. But as dangerously close to a frenzy as she was, Mariette knew friend from foe, and she wasn't staring at Hudson, but rather, through him. "Je ne peux plus..." she groaned as she held the side of her head.

With a shaky turn of her blade she turned the tip toward the ground, slamming it repeatedly into the corpse to pierce it like a pincushion. When she had finished her machine-like movement, the corner of her mouth curled into an unhinged smile at her handiwork. Blood spurted out of each hole like a fountain, and the vampire pounced onto it face-first, biting, clawing, and scratching at the corpse until she was drenched from head to toe. When she finally rose from the body, the focus had returned to her eyes, and calm had returned to her movements. She took up her side sword, licked her lips, and cracked her neck, all before setting her sights on one of the remaining demons- the one attacking Gwen.

As if the sight of Mariette's mid-fight meal hadn't been disturbing enough, Hudson watched as the blood all over Mariette's body seemed to soak into her armor, clothing, and even her sword- drying her out as she walked away.

Hudson was rather surprised to see that the pride demon was able to spin about and lock blades with him, starting to get involved in a pitched sword clash as he searched for an opening. Yet he wouldn't have to, as Mariette drove her blade through their foe with such force that the hunter had to quickly step back to avoid being showered in blood. The look the vampiress gave him was far too telling, and rather than shout obscenities Hudson knew to ready his blade and prepare himself as she could run through him in an instant.

Then she was upon the corpse without warning, prompting him to slowly create distance as he observed her actions. The process started with calculated strikes, but the sheer savagery that followed was a stark contrast. Hudson had seen much throughout his hunting career, sights of vampiric frenzies rather normalized after his partnership with Camille. Yet even still he had not seen such behavior from a perceived ally, and his mind raced with possibilities.

Her eyes stared through him, and soon enough Mariette was after another target to massacre. The hunter's eyes squinted as he could swear that he saw the demonic armor she was clad in soak up the blood like a supernatural sponge. Was it corrupting her? Between Riberta, Henderson, Mariette, and Cadsandra Hudson was not convinced in the efficacy of granting mostly unhinged individuals access to hellish arms that could make them even more so. With some even seeking to be made more monstrous.

The hunter tightened a fist, setting off for the other demon that was trying to battle an injured Jakob. There was no time to worry over such things presently. If they were to turn he hoped they would do it after they were finished with the mission at this point. Sword at the ready, he clashed with his newest foe.

"I had him." Henderson told Riberta with an annoyed tone before turning his attention towards another demon to fight. That runt was getting on his nerves with his dodging and parrying and getting the satisfaction of breaking him taken away was very irritating.

Takato saw himself relieved that Venextos had managed to deal with his opponent before they could deal a finishing blow to him, and tried to use the opportunity to help Wesley further, however the attacks of Wesley and Seriphine weren't ideal in terms of getting blows in.

Watching their attack patterns, Takato once more tried to strike at the pride demon in question.

The remaining three pride demons were quickly mopped up, thanks to the efforts of Mariette, Hudson, Henderson, Leakhena, and Jakob. Mariette quickly rushed the demon that was engaging Gwen, delivering a devastating cut across the demon's back. Leakhena also moved to assist Gwen, hitting the demon with her whip. The strike ripped chunks of flesh from its body, forcing it to cry out and attempt to clutch at its wounds. Meanwhile, Hudson moved to engage the one that Jakob and Cassandra was fighting. As he neared, he shifted his blade downward so that he could charge with the blade pointed directly at the demon. The demon had little time to react. The blade plunged into its side, and Hudson forced the blade upwards so that it carved through the rest of the demon's body and erupted from the top of its head. Nearly bisecting the demon. This gave Jakob the chance to move to assist Mariette and Leakhena, quickly charging and delivering a simple swipe with his claws to behead the demon as it was distracted.

Wesley, Takato, and Seriphine were about to engage their foe once more, intending to put it down. But Henderson had other ideas. Without warning, he rushed in, hopping into the hair before bringing the warhammer down on top of the demon with one massive crushing blow. The impact smashed the demon, his legs breaking and collapsing beneath him. Leaving a crumpled mess and a pool of blood once Henderson straightened up with his hammer.

Kellea chuckled, and soon gave the group a slow clap. "Very well done. A bit messy, though. You should work on that." she stated, smiling as she walked over to inspect Wallace's corpse. "Thank you for dealing with...him. He's always been sort of a nuisance to me...insulting my lord behind his back, acting as though he was better than all of us..." she said, looming over the dead demonic werewolf. "...As if he was better than me."

Hudson tore his blade upwards and freed it from the demon's body, turning about as he walked away from its mangled corpse to stare through Kellea. How he despised the demon types that goaded on and on, and while she was powerful he wasn't going to glean anything on how to fight her from listening to her pat herself on the back all day.

"Don't be thanking us just yet." he pipes up, stepping toward her cautiously with his sword at the ready. "We still have to kill you."

With these pride demons finally dead, Leakhena looks over one of their more intact bodies to deliver a final insult to them. She gets low on her knees over one, carefully carves it’s chest piece open with Irin’s sword, and with her prehensile mouth surprisingly still present, sinks her drooling teeth into the pride demon’s body; never taking her eyes off Kellea as she feasts. It’s a disgusting display as always, but she hopes Kellea takes a look at her and what she’s doing in return.

With the last of the grunts finally killed, Mariette steadied herself. What had just happened? She hadn't been driven to such a frenzy since the earliest nights of her vampirism, before the estate was well and truly hers, and she had to find her meals the hard way. Even then, she had taken out her hunger on animals, never humans or anything else which might be able to hold a conversation... Slashing at her foes didn't seem to produce the same effect, but when she pierced them with her side sword it was as if a bolt of lightning shot from its tip down the length, up her arm and into the rest of her- some horrid magic taking hold.

"What are you doing to me?" she whispered under her breath, knowing that the abyssal artifacts she was carrying were to blame.

It whispered back in its strange tongue, and she somehow understood: "The blood is good for both of us."

Mariette wanted to argue with her "servant" and sort the matter out, but somehow its voice was soothing to her, as if things would make sense if only she were patient a bit longer. Besides, Kellea was already taunting the party and preparing to attack them. She had no choice but to carry on and seek a proper solution when the time was right.

"Thank you for dealing with...him. He's always been sort of a nuisance to me...insulting my lord behind his back, acting as though he was better than all of us... as if he was better than me."

"Oh, madame," Mariette replied, the words drenched in false nicety, "you allowed such a fool to get under your skin? You would think perfection would be more certain of herself. Mais oui, you are very welcome for the reassurance. Maybe next time, your superiors will ask for your help so that you don't have to delude yourself into thinking it's your own choice you sit on a shelf and decorate their halls." Mariette flashed an evil grin, teeth still reddened from the blood of the pride demon. "...Or will there be a next time?"

Maybe next time, your superiors will ask for your help so that you don't have to delude yourself into thinking it's your own choice you sit on a shelf and decorate their halls....Or will there be a next time?"

Kellea looked upwards for a moment, breathing a sigh. "I am as sure of myself as ever, Mariette. I just enjoy praise, as do you." she said, before turning a bit towards the group. "As for delusions, there are no delusions here. I do what I like. They ask me to do things out of their respect for me." She looked to Mariette. "Something you never had. Perhaps you're just...jealous?"

"We still have to kill you."

Kellea turned her head towards Hudson. "As if you could, insect. I am a Demon Prince...or rather, a Princess."

She turned herself, walking over and inspecting the other corpses scattered about. Taking an interest in how they had been eliminated. As she walked, she noticed Leakhena staring at her as she feasted on one of the fallen Pride demons. "As messy as the rest of the Gluttons." she stated bluntly, as she paused next to another corpse. "...My, you all were rather thorough...The brutality is evident." she said, before smiling. "...Perhaps the taint has set into your souls just enough to allow for such brutality?...No, you lot were already horrible enough. The corruption is just embellishments for what's already blackened." She then glanced over towards Takato. "...Well, for some of you anyway."

She then snapped a finger, and suddenly a black blade much like the blade that Cassandra had before she gained the estoc appeared before Kellea. Shaped much like a messer, the sword was entirely black, but seemed to give off a reddish aura to those able to see them. "...So, whom of you will be first? I will make your death painless, I assure you....Perfect cuts."

Wesley wipes the now-dead demon's blood off from his sword with his fingertips and licks the blood off of them, tasting the sweet essence of the deceased creature. He then walks towards where Hudson is and stood beside the Hunter, Staring down the Demon Princess in front of them. her aura flaring red as she stands there.... menacingly.

"You talk too much, Demon." Wesley pointed with his shadow's sword towards Kellea, "You may act like that now, But soon you'll realize the inevitability of your demise... call it a mortality check."

"You talk too much, Demon. You may act like that now, But soon you'll realize the inevitability of your demise... call it a mortality check."

Kellea looked to Wesley for a brief moment, studying the vampiric ninja. "...I do hope you understand that you're not very threatening, vermin." she stated.

"The only taint I see right now is the one standing in front of me." Hudson shot back, not waivering in his stance.

"You think you're invincible, but so does every other demon we've killed. You want us to beg you for mercy or stand in awe? There will be none of that coming from us."

A sizeable chunk of flesh is spat out of Leakhena’s mouth towards Kellea’s face; bloody spittle trailing behind it as it flies in the air. As if Senya being killed before her eyes didn’t put Leakhena in a mood bad enough, now this pretentious pride bitch seeks to indulge everyone in her love of hearing herself speak.

“Gods, shut up already, you upper class bitch!” An entire volley of bullets rain down on Kellea as Leakhena proceeds to dump the entirety of her clip towards her. She’s not even bothering aiming since she knows Kellea will just catch them, she just hopes it’ll irritate her just enough.

"Ah, but I can point out a few that would beg." replied Kellea. She motioned with her sword to Wesley, Leakhena, Mariette, Jakob, then Gwen. "They would. As for you...I know you wouldn't."

Then came Leakhena's interruption. The chunk of flesh was swatted aside, as Kellea moved her sword, before simply twirling it to deflect the gunfire that Leakhena cast at her. All the bullets clinked harmlessly into the white sand before her...along with the final bullet which she somehow split into two halves. "Temper temper, Glutton!" she said, returning the sword to its original position in her hand. "Now...I do believe I have talked long enough. I'm often the more silent type...You all just draw the words out of me, for some reason." she stated, before summoning another sword to hold in her left hand. The two swords oddly matched. "Shall we dance?"

As Kellea made it clear that she was rather prideful and self-indulged in her own skill and abilities, Venextos turned to face this powerful foe as he stabbed his staves into the ground with anger. "United we stand here. We have overcome such challenges and tribulations, even when we were apart and our unity broken we overcame. And now you face all of us. The only being that will fall today will be you." Venextos spoke aloud as he opened Jolvan's necklace, feeling such power rush and flow into him as he felt he could shatter mountains with but a single spell now. Boundless streams of energy flowed into him from this pylon of power he now wore, with his hands starting to glow orange from the same magics he was taking in now.

Yet through all this, he needed to exercise some caution as he had no idea in how to control such an influx of raw power flowing into him and theorized that wanton use could result in backfiring such power onto himself... or others. So rather than immediately go on the offensive, Venextos focused on controlling such boundless energies as best as he could for a concentrated, powerful attack in the immediate future as he placed his hands on top of one another and began to channel all this power into an orb of pure blue and white energy in between his digits as he moved about to avoid having his concentration broken by this new Demon Princess.

The hammer crushed the demon and was covered in the creature's blood. A rather satisfying crunch leaving a broken body for him to admire. Now for the last one. Henderson turned around to face off the last demon standing in their way and by the gods this one was terrible! She loved the sound of her own voice and he own taunting made him roll his eyes with annoyance.

The banal exchange was broken up by a whisper. Something in his ear. He turned his head slightly towards it to listen. 'Feed me... more.' it said. A soft, weak whisper. Barely understandable. He concentrated a bit and then he hear it again, this time louder 'Feed me... more.' Now where did this come from? By chance he glanced to the hammer and it got louder 'Feed me more!' The mutant was rather interested now. He inspected the hammer and noticed that the gore left behind from the splatter was evaporating. Even better, the maul was consuming it. 'FEED ME MORE!' it demanded. Henderson looked at it and then towards the demon princess. Perfect huh? Perfect meal surely. A perfect piece to knock over to cause a power vacuum. Yes. Perfect indeed.

The mutant prepared to attack. The strikes would have to be more vicious and brutal. After all, he'd be eating for two.

Takato was surprised to see himself glanced at by the prideful demon princess, but remained combat ready in case Kellea did something. Fortunately, she would be forced to act by way of Leakhena.

Feeling Venextos charging up, revealing more of his aura than he had before, and in a fashion impressing the hermit, Takato decided to parallel him. Though he wouldn't be charging too long, he'd try to use all he had to try and constrain Kellea, forcing her to a standstill from afar. At the same time, noting the energy being emitted, Takato paid his eye to Venextos. Even through the immense energy being built, he could sense worry coming from the Grand Magus. If need be, he could jump in to help, one way or another.

Hudson raised his sword and started to charge at Kallea, though he would not be so brazen to start an attack with such a predictable rush. To actually land blows on her he would have to be crafty, and for the reason he would attempt to feint swings and parry the demon's blades before actually committing to a strike. He wasn't going to let her superior abilities discourage him, this wasn't the first time he was fighting a stronger foe and it would not be the last.

Kellea's fancy tricks of blocking her bullets, slicing one even, doesn't faze Leakhena. She already knows now she can do that, but she still grimaces heavily on the inside; the realization of having to fight a demon princess of all things starts dawning on her.

'This is going to get fucking ugly.' she thinks to herself the tighter she holds her weapons.

Though seeing Hudson try to bait her gives her an idea. This isn't a fight they're going to win by simply ganging up on her at once. They're going to have to think outside the box and act incalculably together. She keeps her eyes on Kellea's face, but keeps their corners locked on where she actually wants to strike: her legs. If she can just wrap her whip around them and shred them into ribbons, maybe it'd slow her down enough to make things more even for them.
