Fantasy Hunter's Moon: The Sin & Sentence [IC] [CLOSED]

As the others prepared to engage their attackers, one emerged from its cover. It was dressed in a blue robe of sorts, which rippled across them much rolling waves across water. Their horns atop their head, poking out of a blank white mask, were translucent. Just like water or glass. Their eyes were white as well, nearly matching the mask that they wore. It moved its arms and around, taking a stance much like that of a Redonian martial artist, and began to form something between its palms. As the group watched, they noticed that it was a ball of water that was growing larger and larger. Before the group could react to prevent the creature from throwing its large ball of water at them, the other creature they heard popped out of its own cover. It was exactly the same as the first, but had formed an ice spear before emerging. It hurled the spear at them, which narrowly missed Senya and Loque as it collided with the ground and shattered.

It was moments later that the water ball was thrown, the large ball zipping through the air before colliding with the ground in the middle of the group. Most were soaked by the large splash of water, earning some curses or muttering as they flicked off water. And then the third foe emerged. Jumping atop the crate it had been hiding behind was a muscular demon, covered in sleek and smooth plates. Its face was almost like a skull, with sharp teeth and empty eye sockets. Its head was oddly shaped, sloping straight back from the crown into a sharp point. The demon moved into its own stance, and soon they saw what it was doing. Electricity began to dart off its form, darting about and hitting anything close. A ball of lightning formed in its hands, and soon it launched it at the center of the group.

Luckily, they all scattered before the lightning was cast. If they hadn't, it was likely they would have all been fried, judging from the large black scorch mark left behind. The elementals were using tactics: soak the group, before electrocuting them with lightning. There was snow scattered around everywhere, so they were potentially threatened simply by melted snow. They would have to figure out how to kill these three elementals, and quickly.

Water Elemental (Demon Mage - Water Type, 2 Minibosses, 25 HP each)
Trait: Water Mastery - Does +3 DMG when using Water/Ice Magic.

Lightning Elemental (Demon Mage - Lightning Type, Miniboss, 25 HP)
Trait: Electricity Mastery - Does +3 DMG when using Electrical Magic.)

Not needing any other cues, Venextos began his assault by conjuring a ball of molten rock and having it blasted towards the lightning elemental as it was the biggest threat in the area currently.

Senya spotted three foes on the field, two water elementals and one of them being a lightning type. If they acted reckless and underestimated that sort of combination, it would prove disastrous. The Warden focused on the two water elementals. She knew this would prove useful and so finished her fire spell prior to this encounter. She attempted to radiate heat throughout her body and ignite her sword on fire. Senya held a tight grip on her sword while casting a pure fireball towards one of the water elementals with her free hand.

Hudson readied himself for combat as soon as the creatures showed sign of circling, whipping his flail out from around his waist. Sword drawn, he squinted up at the lightning demon before he and the rest of the group scattered from the electric blast.

The hunter pointed his sword up at the demon responsible after rolling out of the attack's way. Spreading his stance he spun one of Velin's Tears and built up speed and momentum. With a grunt he tosses it at the lightning elemental, aiming to wrap the creature up in chains to yank him off the crate into the center of the group.

The electrical elemental clearly established itself as the biggest threat in the room the moment it very nearly managed to kill off the entire group with just one strike of its bolt. Loque hastily raises her rifle and takes aim, squeezing the trigger when she had its head in her sights.

Takato maintained his posture, as he took note of the first being that emerged from cover, briefly considering the stance it was using was truly one from Redonia or whether it was just coincidental. As its ball of water formed, he visibly cringed - not only was it another elemental, but now it was one that could tackle water. Soon enough, the two other foes appeared, another elemental dealing in ice, and one in electricity, the latter forcing them to move.

Takato moved away further from the others, to get a better look on the situation. Observing that everyone was concentrating on the more immediate threat of electricity, he turned his eyes towards the water elementals. Qi charged within, he drew out another card from the Talisman Set, that being 'Talisman ~ Rapid Shot', which would manifest many smaller qi orbs forming around him, and rapidly firing at a singular target, akin to machine gun fire. Noting Senya's charge, while he was clearly attacking the water elementals, it would be ideal to distract them with the qi orbs too, as to allow for a clean hit on Senya's end.

Inari didn't care much for these magical warriors, preferring foes that actually used physical weapons. Still, she wouldn't hold back, and she readied her spirit blade as the assault began. She sighted the lightening elemental and was prepared to make a running leap at it, but she paused when Hudson made his attack first. If it was brought down to the ground, she'd charge it there and make her attack. If he failed, she'd charge regardless and leap up at it.

Henderson moved towards one of the water elementals. Hitting it might be pointless given that the thing was water and the punches would likely go inside and form around the fists. But what if he were to...drink it? He got close and opened a maw, aiming to close his jaws at the creature's shoulder.

------
The group began their attacks, attempting to take either the water elementals or lightning elemental out as quickly as possible before they could do any real damage. Venextos's molten ball of rock collided with the Lightning Elemental, stunning it long enough for Hudson's chains to wrap around the creature. Binding it. The problem was that the demon could control lightning and electricity in general. As soon as it was yanked off the crate it was on, down to where the group was, it sent a surge of electrical power up through the chains into Hudson's arms. Hudson visibly shook from the electricity surging through his body, as the demon continued to amp it up as it stood. Loque would strike it next, shooting at it but hitting it in the shoulder. Inari would slice at it, carving a gash across its back, before moving away quickly so that Wesley could get his own hits in. Seriphine, however, would swing at the creature and miss, as the elemental would narrowly dodge her sword swing.

Elsewhere, the others would take their shots at the water elementals. Senya's fireball hit the first water elemental, forcing a gust of steam to shoot off the creature as fire met water. Vincent would hit the same creature with several rifle shots. Apparently there was still some solid form under all that water, as blood started to mix into the water. Henderson would then try to take a bite out of the elemental, moving in and opening his mouth wide. The elemental glanced up to see it just in time, and quickly moved to avoid it. Takato would attack the other, hitting it with several bolts of qi, while Jakob opened up on it with his newly acquired shotgun. Both hits staggered the creature, forcing it to stumble into the crate behind it. Riberta rushed in after Jakob's shotgun blast, swinging her claymore down with such force that sparks erupted from the crate when she struck it. The blade carved through the box, but barely nicked the demon as it managed to dodge a killing blow.

The first water elemental would notice that its ally was being ganged up on, so it quickly sent out a spear of ice which hit Riberta in the back. She groaned in pain once again, smashing the ice as she slammed her back against the crate she was in front of. This would give the second water elemental time to gather itself and spot Hudson. He had bound their ally, the lightning elemental, in chains and was holding it in place. That simply wouldn't do. It quickly moved in, forming a ball of ice particles in its hands as it got close. And once it was upon them, pointed both hands at Hudson. There was a sudden gust of ice which surged forth from its palms, flash freezing Hudson on the spot.

The chains loosened and dropped, as the lightning demon shook its way out of its bindings. And its first target was Seriphine, whom had yet to put distance between it and the demon. It quickly rushed over, grabbing her by her throat from behind, and poured a massive amount of electricity into the elf. Seriphine violently shook, dropping her weapons as her eyes rolled back in her head. And a moment later, the demon released her. She dropped to the ground like a ragdoll, flopping as she bounced off the dirt.

Venextos pondered going to help one of the two that had been knocked down by the elementals, but quickly surmised that the biggest threat of the lightning had to be dealt with first. As such, Venextos now summoned green strings of energy by clapsing his hands together and separating them before lashing them out at the lightning elemental.

Loque grunts in frustration at missing the elemental's head, though she paused just for a moment while pulling the bolt back and loading another bullet to watch Hudson get his suicidal self frozen. She'd be lying to herself if she didn't find that amusing, but she'll be next if she isn't careful, so she fires again at the lighting elemental.

Hudson grit his teeth as electricity coursed through his arms and body, the searing pain paralyzing him yet he stood fast. What the hunter lacked in desirable personality traits he made up for in grit, at least. Yet it would do him no good as he kept up the binding even as the water elemental converged on him. With no ability to dodge it in his current state he was frozen in place. Making no sound, he lost all strength to break out of the thick layer of ice and soon lost consciousness entirely.

Takato, as he had done earlier, cringed at the sight of what happened to Hudson and Seriphine. As expected, the others began concentrating on the electrical elemental more, being an immediate threat. However, they still needed someone fighting against the water elementals, for one blast of water threatened all fighting the abyssal being of lightning.

Seeing no other choice, Takato briefly stretched, before an aura of qi enveloped bits of his body, including his fists. Water and ice, both he could attempt to keep off himself for as long as he could, even if he ideally would've taken the time to envelop his entire body. Time he had not, however, and he would have to rely on whatever physical aura he had manifested at the moment to move on his body in case the water elementals countered with their own blow, though a fate like Hudson's he couldn't entirely avoid. He shifted into a keiyiken fighting position, monkey style, and went on to attack the water elementals.

Inari kept her distance for the moment as the lightening elemental did its damage to the elf and clown, unable to move in to attack. These demons were peculiar things. In a way, these creatures who harnessed the elements reminded her of the old stories of vengeful kami from her childhood, the spirits of nature that often eradicated the living as readily as they helped them. She couldn't remember any lessons aside from paying such fiends respect to avoid their ire. Not that she would have done so for them if she was already fighting them, and fortunately these were no kami.

She had no hesitation as she rushed back to attack the lightening elemental, intending to make another deep slash before moving away.

Senya saw two of their own go out of battle in one swoop. She turned to see Takato try to deal with both water elementals himself, others focusing on the Lightning enemy. As much as she wanted to deal with the water enemies also, the Lightning one caused them to struggle.

Senya refocused her efforts on her magic by switching enemies. She casted a similar spell only doing it in a volley of fireballs. The Warden launched the barrage, aimed directly at the Lightning Elemental.

The group ramped up their efforts, more of them choosing to target the lightning elemental as compared to the water elementals. However, the water elementals would be put down first. Takato's exceptional martial art skills would pummel one water elemental, before Riberta would shove her large claymore through the creature's abdomen. As she yanked the blade back out, the elemental would be peppered by Vincent's rifle shots. As it collapsed to the ground, Vincent moved in and planted a double tap into the creature's face. Killing it.

The other water demon was engaged by Wesley, using his ninjato to slice it across the side with his rapid movements. It would be followed up by Jakob, delivering a devastating shotgun blast to the demon and forcing it backwards. Right into Henderson's grasp. He grabbed hold of the elemental, his large hands wrapping around the demon's throat, before opening his maw and engulfing the creature's entire head. There was a sickening crunch, and soon the creature's body collapsed to the ground. Headless.

Venextos' green magic strings sliced at the lightning elemental, carving gashes in its plated flesh, before Loque scored a shot which apparently put the elemental's eye out. It was still unknown if it actually HAD eyes, but blood poured from one of its eye sockets like it had one. It yelled out in pain, before being struck once more by Inari's blade and Senya's fireballs. After withstanding the barrage of attacks, it let out a roar and began to build an electrical charge between its hands. A moment later, it chose its target. Wesley, whom was quickly moving away from the water elemental he had just attacked. The charge grew more intense, and eventually the lightning elemental moved about and pointed both palms towards the vampiric ninja.

A powerful bolt of lightning erruptted from its palms, flashing as it darted from the elemental to Wesley. The loud crack was almost deafening, and Wesley was struck in the chest as he looked towards the elemental. The impact obliterated the clothing on his chest, charring the flesh beneath, and sending Wesley sailing through the air into a crate nearby. He hit the ground afterwards, and didn't move.

With the water elementals defeated, Takato turned to face the lightning elemental, but unfortunately, by the time he did, another one of theirs had fallen. Seriphine's body was still near the action, whilst the now-knocked-out Wesley was near the crates. Hudson was closer to Wesley than he was to Seriphine, so to Takato, getting Seriphine out of the way was a top priority. Takato swooped in to get the elf's body to safety.

Takato was confident in the abilities of the others, and would opt to make sure those knocked out would live through this.

The electricity was causing Inari's kitsune fur to bristle and raise up involuntarily as she examined the ongoing situation as the water elementals were taken out, but Wesley was launched away by another strong blast. This thing was quite the rascal. She checked to make sure no one else was going to get in her way before she rushed ahead again, low, to make another passing deep slash.

Once Inari made her charge, Senya pressed forward, using her fire balls to target the last remaining enemy. She cast the same spell, scattering her magic in multiple directions to damage the lightning elemental.

Another one of the group getting struck down by the electrical elemental worries Loque. If the rest of the others miss their mark, chances are good yet another one of them will drop dead. She pulls out her handgun since her rifle is too slow, and empties her entire magazine towards the elemental's direction.

With the water elementals dealt with, Venextos turned his attention to the wounded and started his attempt to resuscitate Hudson from the ice he was encased in by heating it up and melting it.

"Hmm. Minty flavor to it." Henderson said as he chewed and spat out bone fragments. Or he assumed those were bone. "Lets see what you taste like." He eyed up the electric elemental. This one might take some effort to bite down on.

The fight was almost over, as everyone turned their attention to the severely weakened Lightning Elemental. And it wouldn't be long before the fight actually WAS over. Inari moved in, moving low and attempting to slice off one of the Lightning Elemental's legs. The Elemental saw her coming however, and narrowly avoided it. However, the demon wouldn't avoid Senya's fireballs. It was pelted viciously by the intense glowing balls of fire, as Senya moved in close. Then, Senya began to focus the fireballs instead into a torrent of pure flame. Almost like dragon's breath, spewing forth from her palms. The demon was lit ablaze, as the fire was concentrated more and more upon it. Its screams of pain were snuffed out after a few moments, and soon, when Senya stopped, the demon had been reduced to a charred black corpse on the ground.

With the battle over, Vincent looked to the others. Three of them had been taken down, and needed to be tended to immediately. Venextos focused on getting Hudson out of the ice, which didn't take all that long at all. Takato revived Seriphine moments later, while the others helped Wesley back to his feet, after he suddenly woke up and groaned out in pain.

"Feeling a bit chilly, monsieur?" Venextos joked to Hudson as he helped him out of the ice. Soon after, the wizard took a quick glance at the surrounding area before speaking up again: "We should move, I'd rather not stick around to see if there are any more of these fiends lurking about."

Senya breathed deeply, seeing the elemental turned into a burnt husk brightened her day. She turned to see the others like Hudson and Wesley treated. Despite the dangerous nature of the battle, she had to admit, this was getting exhilarating in a way.
