Welcome to Seira Academy. Yes, that's right. You have landed yourself into yet another stereotypical high school drama story with all it's deliciously guilty tropes.
Or so you may have thought.
Seira Academy is actually a renowned highly accredited college institution where all students who are accepted must meet at least one of two requirements in order to be granted admittance into this prestigous school. Those requirements?
An unblemished record with an impressive 4.0 GPA and outstanding attendance.

Your parents have a shit load of money that they donate to the academy's coffers once a year to keep your behind on that roster each semester.
Whatever the reason you are in here, the point is that you made it. You are now among the elite, the future CEO's of various corporate industries, of the next Van Gogh, and Celine Dion's. No matter the path you embark on, having that 'graduated from Seira Academy' on your resume is your guaranteed way into several industries. You just have to graduate.
But graduation is far off from most of the students minds once the semester starts, and the unsupervised debauchery begins. And along with the excitement of a new semester starting, come the rise of anticipation and fear for the students of Seira as the return of a new school year also means the return of the Seira Secrets.
The Seira Secrets is a public online forum that is ran by anonymous entity. The content is nothing but the involuntary uncovered secrets of the student body in the academy. From sex scandals, break ups and the guy who only showers once every three months; whether these rumor's hold any truth, doesn't matter, for once your name is seen on the Seira Secrets page you were marked and the subject of everyone's conversations until the next scandal is released and everyone forgets about yours.
Except, some people are not as fortunate to be free of Seira's virtual torment. Some rumors linger longer than others, and cause much more harm than possibly expected. That much was certain when a student went missing towards the end of the last Fall semester. Holly Hanamura. A completely straight A, spotless record and attendance she was the academy's ideal student, everyone loved her, girls wanted to be her, and boys wanted her. What was more interesting about her was that she part of the IT's. A rare anomaly among the notorious air heads and vanity in that group.
Her reign ended however when Seira Secrets set their sights on her, finally finding a crack in her seamless life. Sleeping with a member of the board, that her father was also a member of, and getting pregnant by said board member. This was the juiciest scandal in the history of S. S and not only did the academy eat it up, but it even made it out for their little domain to the rest of the town and quickly her reputation and that of her family was tarnished just like that. Investigations were launched, and everyone involved questioned. However, amidst all of this, she had suddenly went missing and the semester also ended, leaving everyone on edge as to what could of happened to the former princess of Seira Academy.
But the mystery of the missing girl did not linger long, as only a couple weeks into the winter break, she was unfortunately found face down at the bottom of a river in the local woods of town. Her death was ruled a suicide but some believe that to be a lie...a cop out paid by the family to avoid any further controversy to their tarnished name cause by their daughter.
Despite the fate of Holly having finally been revealed, the students of Seira realized just how easy it was for everything they have to be torn down so quickly. Returning, and new students of Seira Academy now were on edge that they could be subject of Seira's unpredictable wrath.
With winter break now over, and students new and old returning to Seira, the same questions has lingered in most of their minds; why Holly? and whose life was next to be destroyed by this anonymous entity...and could there be a way to stop them from single handedly killing another student?
TLDR; (for those who just want a quick gist) Decadence is a academy based RP centered around the daily lives of it's students who are trying to pass their classes, build relationships and survive the wrath of a vicious, unfiltered anonymous public form called the Seira Secrets, S.S for short. After a major scandal was outed just before winter break, one of Seira's most popular was found dead in the towns local woods, and the students returning, as well as new ones, are all on edge for fear of being next on the list of social annihilation.

the delegates
There's always a benefit in being highly regarded but your peers, and most especially from academic professionals. Those who identify as being a 'delegate' are typically in the student council, debate teams, the welcome committee etc...it's presumed that the delegates of Seira Academy are to uphold the values, integrity of the institution while also instilling motivation to their fellow peers to keep the academy in a good image. And yet, you may find one of these delegates or two mingling with the rule breaking outliers, or paying a visit to the players den...

the players
While the delegates follow the rules set by the academy standard, the players on the other, make their own set of rules to abide by. They are almost as exclusive as the it's, and are known for their heinous initiation rituals when accepting new students into the group. The players primarily consist of your athletes, the high rollers, and the up and coming influential men and women with powerful last names that can open any door. Having a player in your court is one of the coveted methods of survival in Seira Academy. It is rumored that the players also have secret underground gambling ring that on campus but no one has confirmed this to be true or not. If you know, you know.

the regulars
The regulars are simply those who are not presently connected to any particular group or 'clique' in the academy. In a sense, the regulars perhaps the most of autonomy out of all the other students as they are not expected to perform to their cliques standards. But do not let the sense of freedom fool you, for while being able to do your own thing may sound attractive, there is always strength in numbers, and being a regular with no affiliated protection can leave you vulnerable and at the mercy of some with not so good intentions.

A limited, closed off group of individuals who are regarded as being the most popular within the academy. Their influence is high, and typically the only ones that can come in contact with them without adverse reaction are The Players. The IT's are the trendsetters, the showstoppers—an idol like figure. You need to have that “IT” factor to be one.

the outliers
An alternative small group of individuals who typically keep to themselves. Not in a social recluse way, but more so in the ideal that they view the other groups in the academy as total facetious idiots and refuse to assimilate to any sort of social and society standards. Despite this, you can usually catch a few of them at party being thrown by one of The Players or IT's. They’re the ones who usually are seen smoking smuggled in cigarettes in the abandoned annexes and classrooms.

This is semi-lit to advanced lit roleplay. That means I expect for your writing to be comparable to that of at-least a C+ grade literature essay consisting of two paragraphs MINIMUM or more. What does that really mean? Basically, do not write something in this roleplay that you wouldn't even show to your English professor. I am not critical of writing styles, nor grammar, because again, I am not your English teacher- but, I do reserve the right to offer constructive criticism(privately of course) if I'm noticing that your writing is lacking to the quality of the role-play.
rule two.
This RP is not first come first serve. You're character sheet will be subject to approval once posted to the CS thread. I usually prefer to have interested players PM me their sheets, but I decided that perhaps being able to see the sort of characters you'll be potentially role playing with can help spark some inspiration. That said, once I have enough interested people I will post CS thread with the sheet and you will post your sheet in the thread, please be advised to not post your character until you are ready for it to be approved. You may use a placeholder to secure a post spot if that matters to you, but do not submit half finished work without letting me know.
rule three.
You must use/have a discord in order to participate in this role play. It's easier to communicate using Discord, and that is where any and all updates that can't be posted in the IC will be held. Discord is available on desktops and mobile, no expectations to this rule.
rule four.
Please be respectful to everyone in the role play, and no use of any offensive, derogatory and unnecessarily inappropriate language towards another role-player will be tolerated. OOC and IC wise. All cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and genders are accepted in my domain, and in the roleplay. If you have any concerns about character aspects as it pertains to this role play, then please feel free to shoot me a PM via discord or RPN for some clarity.
