Nyx stormwind

Interactions: Ennael ( Birdsie Birdsie )

Nyx had her sword and shield at the ready. A good couple hundred years did good for her body. While she was not good at dodging her reflexes had increased. Ennael was the fast one. But still had the stength of most death knights. And for Nyx she knew there was only one option. "After you die!" She yelled as she raised her shield almost as if she were striking with it ready to meet the attack and her sword ready to meet a second as it glowed white. She only had one shot at what she had planned. Her new trick had to work. It wasn't holy magic but it was unlikely any metal could stand it. And if this failed she could end up dead and with no arms.

Viska
Location: Paladin Guild ---> Secret passage
Action: Running away from the fight

So much happened in such short time, a Death Knight broke in, killed people, Mikel gave an unconsious paladin whom was nice to them earlier. The paladin opened a secret passageway for the 3 lizards to run in to escape from the Death Knight. Viska wanted to stay and help but Solus intervened.

"No little one, it is foolish to fight him. I know you want to help but you are not ready to fight a Death Knight. Save the paladin girl, help her escape and return back to the castle. This is not our fight."

As much as Viska wanted to talk back, to argue, she knew he was right. She puffed out her cheeks and looked to Ka'Sha who was holding the paladin. Viska ran into the passageway but made sure that her big friend was following behind.

Solus looked at Mikel and began to buff him up for the fight against Silvanus.

He casted Bless, shield of faith, Aid, Enhance ability cat's reflex which gives Mikel's dexterity an advantage, and he casted magic circle around Mikel, to help him against Silvanus. Then Solus casted Spiritual weapon and picked a holy paladin sword to be the weapon to attack Silvanus until it is destroyed, then he casted Spirit guardians around Mikel to protect him from Silvanus and they deal holy damage whenever Silvanus gets close. Then he summoned a Guardian of the Faith next to Mikel to deal tons of damage against Silvanus. Then before Solus left into the passageway, he casted Sacred Flame against Silvanus to hurt him with holy damage.

Solus then left before he could be targeted or attacked by disappearing after Viska.

Vesryn glanced around one more time, making sure he was clear before pulling out his book, flipping through to the back half and looking at spells. "Come on..." he mumbled, trying to find the right one. "There we go..." We traces a sigil in the air, the takes out a flash of holy water on his person and sprits some into himself, being overtaken by a divine glow. He puts the book and flask away, marking the page of an attack spell. He then braves into the street, using his mace to clear his way past undead, which became much easier due to the spell, but it only lasted so long.

Auriel's Banner.png

Auriel -- Paladin Guild Garden -- Interacting With Silvanus ( Birdsie Birdsie ), Mikhel ( Reinhardt Reinhardt )

It didn't take long for the undead to find their way to the garden. Auriel watched on as the paladins were all slaughtered effortlessly by the death knight, who cast a spell to engulf the garden in flames. Now their only chance of escape was to either sneak out or fight the death knight head-on. "It's too late." She finally answered Terra. "Unless you can walk through flames, I suggest you try and not burn yourself to death." Her hand clasped over Durandal, ready to draw it from its sheath. With the holy ward now raised, Auriel could feel her holy magic regaining some of its strength back. Now she at least had one advantage over the death knight...

"Sanctum grounds." She uttered, as holy magic spread into the soil, seeping into whomever stood on the blessed grounds, either easing their wounds. She didn't know what to expect from the death knight, however. "I will fight aside you until this death knight is repelled. Is that acceptable?" She asked, her question directed to Mikhel. However, she didn't wait for an answer, drawing her steel blade as she dashed at Silvanus, sweeping horizontally at his side. Before Auriel would give this fight everything she had, she would first see how this death knight fought and adapt accordingly.

Bianca Ensyreia
Location: Paladin Guild, Xhorhas → Secret Passage
Interactions: Terra ( Octo Girl Octo Girl )
The last stand has began, but unfortunately, it seems that it won't last long enough. Mikhel and the rest of his brothers-in-arms are being handled by the death knight with such ease, that it seemed as if he was merely playing along with their valiant struggles. However, as if on queue, aid came rushing towards the lone paladin - a surplus of powerful boons and blessings were placed upon him, and two, no, make that three, allies fought alongside Mikhel. Not to mention, the protection ward that was starting to put its toll on the death knight.

Suddenly, the odds were somewhat tipping to their favor. But Bianca couldn't shake the feeling that she should follow the three reptilians who fled, as if there was something ominous awaiting for them in the passage opened for them. Deciding that she should do such, she turned around and faced the opening to the passage - which was now hindered by a wall of flame. And to make things worse, the opening was slowly closing on its own. The paladin was right, it could only last for so long, and they've wasted enough time doing nothing in the gardens.

Noticing the anxious, yet seemingly unprepared girl beside her, Bianca spoke to her. "You must be new. You don't look like you're ready for this.", she said.

Finally mustering up the resolve to draw her blade, she used the legendary weapon to cut the flames in half - providing an safe way to enter the passage. She went there without hesitation, and once within the passage, she reached out a hand towards the scaly young lady.

"Let's go.", she invited her. "Unless you want to stay here and fight a battle you definitely cannot win."

Faust Banner.png

Faust Windfallow -- Fort Black Reception -- Interacting With Emily ( Alteras Alteras ), Krysten ( StoneWolf18 StoneWolf18 ), Veth ( Fable Fable )

"While I get that we need to defend the fort, Risa could've at least left a little more than two mages." Sighing, Faust waved his hand over the desk again, the illusionary map disappearing. "Our best bet is to send several of our best members and infiltrate the enemy through smarts. We can't defeat Turenval with pure military might." His conclusion that their chances of victory were slim, yet even still, he'd still stay around.

Then an elf came to them. "If I were a minion of Turenval, you'd all be dead already." He shot back at her. However, her words did make him think for a second. "However, I don't know how far Turenval's control over undead. God knows what can happen if they got their hands on my phylactery." Oh lord, the situation was getting worse as he thought more about it huh? They're fighting an enemy that could probably kill them all in a snap of the fingers.

Suddenly, Emily pushed Faust off the chair and sat on it herself. Pulling himself off of the floor, Faust brushed the dust off his cloak. "Sadly, those who are running for their lives are the smart ones," he sighed, "they know its escape or lose their lives." Removing his mask, he placed it face-up on Emily's desk. "Listen, just because you're new, or because you're human doesn't mean you're useless." He told Krysten, his blue orbs that occupied empty eye sockets gazing into her eyes- looking at his true face, it was hard to imagine he was the childish mage playing the fool from earlier. "You go and apprehend the idiots who are trying to loot the place. The golems should be helping you too. Or of course, you can flee too. Only a fool would want part in this slaughterfest." Turning to Veth and put his mask back on. "You, elf, please drop that formal speech. It annoys me." A purple orb of arcane energy manfiested in Faust's hand, and he threw it at Veth. "Catch. It will explode in two minutes, and explodes if it stays still for more than two seconds or hits a solid surface. May as well have some fun while we wait."

Ka’sha Stonejaw
Paladin Guild Secret Passage

SP3CT3R SP3CT3R Reinhardt Reinhardt Archdemon Archdemon

Ka’sha had not run far when all hell broke loose. The undead swarm into the city having managed to overpower whatever defences the Paladin Guild had in place. Screams and shouts fills the air as the dead had entered the city, slaughtering all in their way be they civilians or warriors. The undead comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from those who looked like walking corpses to unspeakable towering abominations. Paladin after paladin fell from the undead army, civilians helplessly slaughtered as they tried to flee from the chaos.

Ka’sha was about to run in and help them because as terrified as she was she couldn’t just let them get slaughtered by these long dead fiends. However, before she can even draw her sword, the female paladin, now unconscious, was thrust into her hands by the other paladin and they were intructed to flee the city via a secret passage the guild possesses. The paladins to them to take her and flee the city.

She may never admit this out loud, but she was thankful for this. She wants to help, she really truly does, but she doesn’t want to die either. She can see that this is a hopeless fight, seeing as how the undead had already breached the city and she was sure that even stronger enemy would no doubt come soon. Ka’sha followed after her two companions, the female paladin in her arms as they entered the passage.

The passage was a tight fit for her, her head scraping the top if the ceiling even when she had her head ducked down. She was just thankful that she fit, uncomfortable it may be. As they were running, Ka’sha suddenly had a thought. “Hey, um, Viska! W-why don’t we just, you know, do that thing you did and teleport us back into the Guild?” Ka’sha called out towards Viska.

Asterin Blackblood
31666725_244341349476458_8751225229738508288_n.jpg
Location: Xhorhas Streets

Asterin smashed her elbow into the face of an undead woman, which to her satisfaction, gave her a sickening crunch as her elbow made contact with her face, before she kept running. Then stopped in her tracks, even amoung the undead, she just stopped. What would her grandmother say, risking her hide for a mortal. But, in all consideration, she’d demanded she aid Cyrus on the quest. It’d be very hard to aid a very dead Cyrus.

Brutality, Loyalty, Discipline. That was what the Blackblood clan taught.

A Death Knight jumped down just as Asterin slit the throat of an undead in front of her, blood spraying her clothing, her expression showing nothing but a blank stare with bloodthirsty eyes. Gold eyes, inherited from the demons that bred with the Fae long ago to create a more powerful offspring. Just like the teeth, and the claws were the demon counterparts, and their eternal immortal beauty, inherited from the Fae. Her icy stare could’ve matched that of the Death Knights. No hearts at all.

He wasn’t much of a talker, she noted, as he leapt for her with blinding speed. Good, neither was she.

He was fast-no, incredibly fast. Faster then any mortal, or most other beings could comprehend. The sword came at her at a speed she’d never faced before, and if she was human, her blood would be spilled all over the ground, and she’d be nothing but a useless body. Thankfully, she was much faster then a mere mortal.

She shifted her body to the side, her own fast reflexes only barely able to dodge the incoming sword, and she realized, with disgust, that she hadn’t, as she arched her body to the side, she felt the cold metal graze against her armor, which wasn’t strong enough to even bear the sharpness and speed of the Death Knights sword, grazing her skin, just barely, and somehow enough to make her bleed.

At the same time, Asterin flicked out her wrist, long knives sliding into her fingers as she activated the trigger in her armor, and launched them, faster than any human or other mortal species could ever throw it due to Asterin’s largely enhanced strength, six sanctified knives sent hurdling all precisely for the torso on the Death Knight, and one unsactified dagger, her own, which she’d kept on her for years, thrown at him with her other hand, this time aiming for his neck. A swift, but usually very deadly movement. No enough to kill the Death Knight—no—to buy her time. She didn’t have time for sanctifying all the knives, or either of her daggers. So only half of her hidden knives were sanctified.

And then the Death Knight landed.

She was alive when Turneval was, a long, long time ago. But she was a witchling, hadn’t even had her first blood yet. Didn’t know what he, or these—things could do.

Pain rocketed up her body, as if her claws were melting, bones disintegrating, blood boiling. She screamed, for the first time in her life, she let out a scream of unfurling pain, unending pain, as she was launched through the air. If she were not a witch, she would’ve melted right there. Been nothing but some blue-stained blood on the streets. But Blackfire witches were much, no, far more durable then humans or mortals. But they were not Indestructible.

Asterin smashed through the window of an recently abandoned home at a hurtling speed, smashing through an entire wall of the home, before smacking into another, a concrete wall. Or at least it felt like it. She panted, every gasp for breath felt like a blow to the stomach, more than a few broken ribs. She clutched unto her last dagger, which she’d somehow managed to hold unto in the explosion, more like clutched unto with her dear life. Asterin bit in a groan of pain as she attempted to sit up, her face stung, tiny cuts across her face, blood droplets leaking out, and in other places of her body. It was the most pain she’d ever experienced. She struggled to sit up, and assessed her injuries. Ribs were definitely broken. She had a rather heavily bleeding wound at her waist, a leg was broken, so was one of her hands, and she tasted blood on her lips. Her own blood. It’d been such a long, long time since she tasted her blood. Blue blood.

Asterin reached into her boot, clenching her jaw to keep from screaming at the pure agony of moving, and grabbed her Guild Seal, buring it in the palm of her hand under the last dagger she clenched tightly, a last resort of escape, before she looked around, taking in her surroundings and sought her best chance of escape, propping herself up against the wall.

Mikhel - Paladin

Interactions: Silvanus ( Birdsie Birdsie )

Mikhel was unable to do anything as the death knight unleashed hell upon his fellow paladin. The sight was horrid - their very skin melting as they scream in pain, hoping to end the agony. And yet, he could not avert his eyes from their gruesome demise. He clenched his fist, mustered every strength he had, just to stand up once more.

Huffing and puffing, he finally stood. His hand firmly gripped on the spear of light. "You...", Mikhel grunted. "...are a wretched soul."

Mikhel would have charged in blindly, without thinking, but all of a sudden, things to a quick turn - a holy ward began to envelop the guild, and slowly spread out, causing the death knight to get weakened. Not only that, but there were also two others who decided to act and fight this mad being. Even the angel he had met earlier decided to aid him in this fight. His resolve grew stronger. He no longer clung onto a sliver of hope - he bathed upon it.

After having several boons and blessings cast upon the paladin, Mikhel felt refreshed. He assumed that it was the work of the gods. That fate was on their side now. And thus, with newfound fervor, he grabs the sword blessed by Solus, and prepared to launch a blow on the weakened creature of darkness.

Armed with a holy spear of light on his right arm, and a blessed sword on his left, he launched himself towards Silvanus, swiftly and forcefully attack with both of his weapons - slashing on one side, and thrusting on the other. Surely, the death knight wouldn't be left unscathed.

Terra was going to argue about leaving, but they were right. She was not ready for this fight at all. "alright... I'll go." she said with a sigh as she grabbed their hand and got into the tunnel. "Lead the way... Hopefully everyone who isn't dead can make it out." she said with another sad sigh. Reinhardt Reinhardt LostHaven LostHaven

Akbal | Xhorhas Streets | Ms. Sparrow Ms. Sparrow

Akbal's very essence was sensitive to positive and negative energy. Where the former was like fire, the latter was a balm. So he felt fire moving towards him and instinctively intercepted the daggers with a helicopter-like twirl of his sword, knocking all of them away as Asterin was launched into a building.

He looked at the building. Four, green glowing eyes were seated beneath his chitin helmet. He polymorphed, taking on the form of an androgynous drow, with long, wavy white hair and a mask. Akbal smirked and clicked his fingers, sending a spark into the air that followed after where Asterin was thrown. As soon as it reached its destination - right next to her - the spark would transmute into an alchemical grenade and explode with enough force to destroy a room or collapse a wall.

Akbal, confident she was dead, walked away.

Silvanus stopped mid-leap, hitting against Auriel. Impatient, he traced a magical gesture. Fiery chains burst from the ground and enveloped her entire body.

Without turning around, Silvanus swiped his sword behind his back, knocking away Mikhel's spear and swiftly crouching under the blow of his sword. Silvanus did a sweep kick, knocking the paladin off of his feet, then kicked him like a bag of dirt, putting just enough force so that Mikhel stopped near the wall of fire. Silvanus rose his hand for a moment, and the charred bodies of Mikhel's comrades gripped him and began to drag him into the fire.

He faced Lucius, raising his sword in the bowman's direction. "And now for you, son of the fallen!"

Several demonic footsoldiers were summoned up, then rushed Nyx, while Ennael took to the skies and flied in her direction, trying to perform fly-by attacks time and time again.

There was three fights nearby he noticed, once he cleared his way to a safe place to view the area. The Paladin Hall where many were located was key to coordinating the defense, which currently had a Death Knight. There was also the southern wall, and the third encounter a few hundred yards away, possibly. He wasn't the best with distances. He decided on the Hall, as it was his best bet at both helping and not dying immediately. He enters the building, sheathing his mace and going for his book, flipping to the back as he looked for some form of spell. He holds out his hand and sends a quick prayer that everything will be fine, that the couple he gave up his seal for are ok, that his allies we're doing well. After this, he opened his eyes, exhaled, and a bolt of divine flame shot from his hand toward the Death Knight.

Chiruka hadn't wasted any time to get to Xhorhas when it was made clear there were undead hordes on the move. She had perched herself on the roof of one of the taller buildings, waiting to see if any Death Knights would accompany the undead army. She was not disappointed. She moved to where she had seen two Death Knights engaging with a powerful mage, slaughtering the undead that got in her way. She didn't care about the city, it was doomed the moment it was targeted.

She leapt and moved to get to higher ground, she'd have to bring down Ennael to her. Chiruka 'tched' as she saw another fighting against her target. Not matter, they would serve as a distraction. Chiruka would most likely be seen as a friendly and wouldn't be attacked. She crouched down and waited for her moment. She hadn't brought enough throwing daggers with her, so she needed to make them count. She carefully aimed, intending to hit Ennael's wings.

One. Two. Perfect! Chiruka threw a barrage of small throwing daggers at Ennael, anticipating where her foe was going to move as she went for the other woman.

If she had many more bards, and if even a few were her followers this would have been easier. If there had been others, she could have added layers to the ward to give others a better chance of survival. This ward wasn't enough to win, it was only enough to try and protect the Paladin Guild, which based on the chaotic sounds... it wasn't going well.

"Ellis, we're going to need to push out more and try and reach where Cyrus is. We'll sustain this as long as it's reasonable. If that Death Knight pops up, get the hell out of here with the guild seal."

Drui created more musical instruments, joining the in song easily as they floated on their own. The ward pushed further outward as Drui tried to expand it to reach where Cyrus was. She wasn't sure it would reach him, but she had to at least try.

As he attempted to move away from the attack of Silvanus, a woman intercepted the sword. The paladin charged at the enemy but was knocked aside and the woman chained. The Death Knight's attention then returned to Lucius, clearly intending to slay him using his sword. Lucius used his wings to thrust backwards and away from the man, nocking an arrow and firing it at the hand holding the blade. He just needed to stay out of range.

She continued trying to find a way to get to Ennael but at the moment all she could do was play defensively and try and block her attacks whenever they came. Location: Gestal
Action: Tending to the aftermath of the attack, visiting the great mage.

Leonidas and many Spartans ran away as fast as they could, 6 died and 38 were wounded. They had lost 8 Spartans that day, they will be remembered. Leonidas ordered his men to tend to the wounded and to help repair everything that was damaged during the fight.

He noticed Shards of black and white all over the place, presumably from the construct. He should see the mage who lives in town, maybe they could make sense of these things and whether or not they can be integrated into the Spartan equipment.

He went into the home that the mage lived in, and nodded his head in respect. Speaking in Hellenic, though no doubt the mage could understand with s simple universal translator spell.

"Great seer, I have come with a request. We have fought a creature called a Mitus, left behind by a hooded person on a rotting undead horse. I wish for you to look into the shards it left behind and whether or not you can integrate them into our equipment. Or if you have a better idea on to utilize their effectiveness, then I would greatly appreciate the idea."

She had lended Cyrus aid. Drawn a Death Knight away from him. If they were smart, they would have lended him aid, gave him time to recharge, use less power. Her goal wasn’t to kill a Death Knight—no, and with one lousy demonstration of her skills, she’d done just this. She had to know what they were capable of. So she’d thrown herself at him. And in return he’d thrown her.

It was a stupid plan but it worked. Painfully worked.

Oh yes, she knew what he was capable of. Especially as her gold eyes landed on the spark that turned into an alchemical grenade. Asterin swore, rolling away as the grenade went off, and the concrete wall collapsed. Instantly huge slabs slammed into her with full weight, into her broken ribs, her broken leg, Asterin hissed through her teeth as the dust settled. But she didn’t dare move. Her incredible sense of smell following Akbal, detecting him as she smelled him less and less. Until he was gone.

A feral growl of pain escaped her lips, as she angrily shoved a large slab of concrete off her torso, her armor covered in blood, with a little bit of her own blue blood. She heaved for breath as she lay still to regain her strength. She was lucky to be alive, even for a witch.

Asterin stared up through the broken ceiling and walls and up at the sky. There were few sounds she loved more then the groans of dying men, and the wind was one of them. She grinned, a pair of normal teeth—not chromium— at the sky. ‘‘Twas not a grin but a smile, even as blue blood trickled out of her nose.
They’d failed. Lost even, but succeeded where many others hadn't.

They survived.

Location: Xhorhas' Streets

The ground trembled beneath the feet of the citizens running amock in the streets. From the smoke and dust that slowly settled, a figure walked out with a round shield on his left arm and a crackling hammer in his right hand.

"Behind me. Quick!" He shouted, urging everyone to get behind him with gestures of his right arm.

Citizens run behind him, cowering in fear as a rather big group of undead knights turned their skeletal heads towards him. Yordan smirked, "FEEL MY FURY!" He shouted, running towards them at top speed. He jumped up in the air and, on the way down, slammed his hammer into the ground. An explosion of lightning created a small crater where the hammer-head hit and emitted a shockwave that launched the minions fifteen feet into the air.

He got up on his feet really quickly, hitting in the jaw a falling zombie, sending its head flying in the sky. They all fell to the ground and most of them broke their legs in different places, but three of them managed to survive the fall. They got up and rushed towards Yordan all at once. "BAD CHOICE, WITHERING FRIENDS! " He shouted, raising his shield and running to meet their charge, bashing them with all of his strength. They flew back and their ribcages collapsed due to the sheer force of the impact.

He turned around and made sure the citizens were all safe before rushing to their aid, checking up on them.

Auriel -- Garden -- Interacting With Silvanus ( Birdsie Birdsie ) -- In The Vicinity of Lucius ( Fable Fable ), Mikhel ( Reinhardt Reinhardt ), Vesryn ( LoneSniper87 LoneSniper87 )

That went bad fast...

Auriel swiped at Silvanus, and although it wasn't intended to severely maim, Silvanus dodged neverless and summoned fiery chains that pulled her down to the ground. The flames burned through Auriel's armor, charring her body as they continued to pin her to the earth. "Tch." Auriel had some resistance to elemental magic, but this wasn't ordinary fire. And it hurt like hell. Glancing at her surroundings, she saw the paladin being dragged into the wall of flame by the reanimated corpses of his fallen comrades. The winged being, whom Auriel recognised as a nephilim, who used his wings to knock back an arrow thrown at him toward the death knight, appeared to be Silvanus' next victim.

Auriel pushed herself to her feet, the chains still dragging her down. It was clearly a struggle, as the fallen angel showed clear signs of physical strain. "A holy ward, and this death knight is still this powerful." She gritted her teeth in pain. Did she really have a chance against one of Turenval's elite? At that moment, Auriel realized that they were outclassed by a mile by a single death knight. Her hands struggled to reach for her sword, sheathed at her side. Silvanus' back was facing her, and Auriel would use that advantage, even if it were minute.

Her hands finally clasped firmly onto her corrupted blade, she drew it forth, as darkness exploded forward from it. So much for surprising the death knight... The chains that enveloped Auriel's body finally gave in and snapped, and she didn't waste any time to attack the death knight. Dashing behind him with enough speed that a normal human would've seen barely a blur, Auriel swung her blade at Silvanus again. This time, her blade would find its mark, or else, drawing forth Durandal would be her own undoing.

Ki'Tavi

Location: Guild Hall(end)
Interacting with: Noble Scion Noble Scion Fable Fable Alteras Alteras
The situation was evolving too rapidly.

Kit had scarcely had time to let the words of a wager leave his lips when a second alarm went off. His eyes narrowed as he watched Veth leave, stopping in place. Wasting time. Yes, that's exactly what it would be to head to Xhorhas now. At this point, it was likely beyond lost. Going there now with the limited support of the Guild would be suicide, assuming teleporting in was still possible. If Xhorhas was overrun so quickly, there was nothing his Phantoms could do to turn the tide. Had they time to fortify, to prepare, to plan, then maybe. But if the situation was half as dire as it seemed, Xhorhas was beyond saving already.

"This is a lightning-war..." Kit murmured as his tail flicked behind him. "Ervin... See to fortifications. Get with those in charge of the magical protection and see how we can improve the defenses here. We're no good to anyone if our own base gets overrun." Kit remarked to the big man with a towershield next to him, who nodded. "Squads three and four, let's see how well we can armor this Fort" Ervin called, taking a group of Phantoms to see about what could be done to better fortify Castle Black.

In Kit's mind, he was seeing a map of the entire region. Before his mind's eye, he saw Xhorhas, and a million possible paths for Turneval's forces to take. He didn't like being out of the fight, but the simple fact was, as fast as Xhorhas had been overrun, the difference his Phantoms would make would be minor at best, null at worst.

He looked behind him and saw Bem. She was, doubtless, a pitiful sight. She looked like her entire world had crumbled around her. Now was not the time for such thoughts....

"The rest of you, get a map set up for me in the main hall. I may not have Raiki's gift for strategy, but I'm not about to just sit back with no plan" Kit ordered as the Phantoms immediately moved out as ordered. He then turned on his heel and made his way to Bem.

"Bem... I am sorry for my harsh tone." he spoke quietly as he watched her. "I have fought in countless battles, and I've seen how dangerous unchecked emotions can be. I've watched too many die from such passions. That is why I spoke as I did, but I see my words only succeeded in pushing you to the other end of the spectrum. This one is no less dangerous. I wish I had the leisure to talk this out with you now, but I cannot ignore the situation at hand." He tipped her chin up to raise her eyes from the ground.

Should she meet his gaze, she'd find it almost alarmingly different than before. In the tree, his gaze had been relaxed, jovial, with an almost childlike innocence to them. Now, though, his eyes were different. Now his eyes were stoic, yet with a fire that burned in his gaze. These were the eyes of a warrior that had fought in countless battles. Now she wasn't talking to Kit the joker, she was talking to Ki'Tavi, a Captain in the infamous Phantom Legion. The difference was almost enough to think he was an entirely different cat. Indeed, some prospects thought he was part of a set of twin cats in the Legion, just because of how different he acted when it came to battle. Even his diction changed, his speech becoming more eloquent like that of a general.

"Come. I could use as much additional insight as possible." He gestured for her to follow him to the Guild Hall as he made his way inside. Already his Phantoms had a large map laid out on a table, with little figures outlining the situation as they knew it. He glanced up at Veth and the others in the Guild Hall as he entered. He knew he wouldn't need to ask for Veth's insight, she'd come of her own accord soon enough, he was sure. "Emily, can you catch me up on exactly how bad things are?" He called to the guild receptionist as he stepped over to the map. He looked at Xhorhas, covered in red markers. It was as good as gone.

From there....

He took yellow markers, plotting out the various paths the Death Knights and their undead hordes could take from Xhorhas. There were so many variables to consider. Were they just going to carve a straight line through, or were they taking strategic positions? Attacking Xhorhas was undoubtedly intentional. Taking out the Paladins there would be a massive blow and would dampen any possibility of a counterattack. From there, it was a matter of what they prioritized. Fort Black, undoubtedly, would be a target. If not the next one, it sure as hell would be soon after. With the Vault, and the fact it stood as a symbol against Turneval, yeah, Fort Black would be on the list soon.

His ears pinned back on his head as he looked over the map around Fort Black. They had a terrain advantage, but the question was how useful it would be against such numbers. His tail flipped behind him as he started crunching the numbers. This was about as bleak a situation as they could ever face. However, Castle Black would not fall so easily.

He was formulating a plan...

Bianca Ensyreia
Location: Secret Passage
Interactions: Terra ( Octo Girl Octo Girl )
When the draconic girl finally made up her mind, Bianca took charge. She may not be of leader material, but she should suffice for now, especially when the Guild's all broken apart by the many encounters occurring in Xhorhas. Sheathing her sword, she decided to try and see if there are still any traces left behind by the reptilian trio, so they could follow it and catch up on them.

The further they went into the dimly-lit tunnel, the more uncomfortable Bianca felt. It was as if her guts was telling her specifically not to go onward, but she continued to ignore it. She'd been useless and idle this entire time, clearly, the time for her to finally contribute something should come by now. Fortunately, their travel shouldn't take a while, since this hidden passage seems not to extend that far.

"What's your name?", she asked the young scaled girl, clearly trying to break the ice.

As expected, the death knight effortlessly fended off their attacks. Even when being weakened by a holy ward, he is still unmatched. Mikhel, thrown near the flames, was grunting in pain and struggling to get up, when suddenly, the burnt corpses of his fellow paladins began to move. They clung onto him, firmly. Their charred flesh cracked and withered as they forcefully dragged his body into the flames, slowly.

Of course, since he was wearing a suit made of metal, he started to feel the heat. Sweat began to pour down from his pours. And along with the pain that continues to ring, from the hits he suffered, it would seem that he's no longer suited to continue the fight. He was ready to accept it - death. But as he closed his eyes, the voice of a young, naive girl echoed in his mind.

"The good guys always win don't they, Sir Mikhel?"

The paladin puffs, and a smile slowly forms on his face. He opens his eyes once more. He struggles to pull himself against the corpses dragging him towards the flame. He raised his right arm, and with a bit of holy magic, the spear of light came homing back onto him. Finally grabbing it by the handle, he sighs and speaks to the corpses of his fallen comrades. "I am sorry, my brothers.", he said.

As he thrust the pointed end of the spear towards the burnt corpses, it got engulfed in a brilliant flash of light, and emitted a powerful blast of holy energy, obliterating the corpses into nothing but dust and ash. Finally free from their clutches, he backs away from the flames and stands up.

From a distance, he watched as they each struggled to break free from the death knight's spells. And in that moment, he realized why they could not beat him despite being weakened by the holy ward - they were acting as individuals. And as such, they have no chance against the death knight.

However, if they were to work together...

He called out to them. "Everyone!", he shouted. "Fall back to me!"

Hopefully, they'd listen to him.

Faust Banner.png

Faust Windfallow -- Fort Black Hall -- Interacting With Emily ( Alteras Alteras ), Krysten ( StoneWolf18 StoneWolf18 ), Kit ( One Mean Ghost One Mean Ghost ), Veth ( Fable Fable )
Huh? Was he in a war tent or something?

Suddenly, a bunch of soldiers whom Faust did not recognize rushed into the hall, and began setting up a map? "Uh, the fuck? Who are you?" He asked, getting no reply from any of the men. Sighing, Faust walked up to the map they had set up, completely forgetting the mana-bomb he had thrown to Veth. Honestly, what happened with that was none of his concerns- it was just a gag mana-bomb, it wouldn't inflict any damage, other than completely messing up the victim's face and hair. Long story short, if it exploded, it would only be a small blast that would cover them in black soot. At this point, it wasn't even a mana-bomb, but a very, very weak explosive that kids played around with for fun.

Then, this oversized cat waltzed into the room and asked the receptionist for the situation at Xhorhas. Even though the question wasn't directed at him, he answered anyway. "We got fucked right up the arse by Turenval. He absolutely boned us." He replied. "One of the walls of Xhorhas' been breached, and we can only assume the undead are rapidly overrunning the city. And there's a detachment of death knights; Turenval's elite. We never stood a chance from the very beginning." Drawing his index finger to the map, Faust circled around Xhorhas. "There's a disturbance field of sorts around the city. Teleportation seems to be interrupted greatly- I've tried to send undead ravens to eye the situation, but I've lost connection as soon as I tried to teleport them into Xhorhas." Possibly out of some old habit, Faust's hands reached for his cloak, placing them into his pockets- only that he didn't have pockets on his cloak. "wait, I didn't have pockets?" he muttered to himself, gazing down at his cloak.

"Whatever plan you've got brewing in that tiny cat brain of yours, don't try to make it crazy. We should just hold the fort and make sure it doesn't get blown sky-high and right up a titan's arse. We're undoubtedly near the top of Turenval's 'to screw over' list." He advised Kit, finally settling to cross his arms instead of trying to find nonexistent pockets. "By the way, did we always have all these people in the guild?" Faust asked, obviously hinting at all the phantoms that had rocked up to Fort Black. "I'm pretty sure my memory isn't grainy, did you call in buddies or some shit?"

Bem the Apianian - Reception
hip to fuck bees.png
Bem had been mildly content with simply licking her emotional wounds at the pointy-eared human and the Ki'tavi's words, but her melancholic walk of solitude was not to last long. The one that had distressed her so much had returned to her side, she flinched at his approach, fearful of how else he could harm her insides like he had done before, yet he did nothing but try to make excuses for his cruelty. "Do you wish to harm me..? If so, don't try to be my friend.. What sort of being does that..? Humans, I suppose.." she sighed wistfully into the wind as she brushed off his words and shrugged out of his soft grip. She had experienced a long war, yet he spoke to her as though she were a child, not a battle-hardened warrior. It filled her with annoyance, yet she did not feel invigorated enough to say anything to the mad as he walked away, beckoning towards her. She refused to meet his gaze or listen to his words as they were the words of lies and deceit, common with the humans, she had found, similar to demons and the like.

"Humans are monsters." she muttered under her breath as she followed after, not because he had asked her to, but because she had been heading in that direction anyway, pondering why she would come to the aid of such beings, or if her aid was even needed, but she had nothing else to do, and no hope in learning anywhere else, so she continued her despairing walk back to the guild, her large brown eyes once again stuck to the green grass flowing past as her gentle feet stepped carefully through the sea that was the outside of the hive, the foreign feeling of 'grass' was strangely comforting to her as she strode into the guild once more, onto the much harder floors of the building.

A demon stood before her, but it appeared to have hidden its wings underneath a brooding cloak, but the bone-white face was more than a tell-tale sign of a monster, at least from one of the many depictions back in her home. She had to admit though, this demon appeared to be a bit more on the small side, around the size of her people, rather that the giants she had imagined. "Of course you're teaming up with demons." she gritted, but made no effort to use her weapon as she had done before on her last entry. She wished for death, but not at the hands of a monster from hell. "Take me to the battlegrounds so I may assist in defending your pitiful, monstrous races so I can be done with you." she growled at no one in particular, pondering what form of death she would be meeting and how most efficiently to kill it. Her hands wrapping around the spear that had been thrust into many enemies of the apiana. Bem still didn't quite feel herself, like a cloud had formed over her mind and all she wished for was destruction of those that had upset her, yet at the same time, she didn't wish them harm, all that was wanted was for her to be rid of these feelings, and the only way that seemed viable to do such a thing was to kill, to inflict pain, and to unleash her fury onto those that need fury unleashed upon them, which appeared to just so happen to be the enemy of these nasty beings with their fleshy outsides and their one, odd looking demon that seemed to share a certain anger towards the cat-person with her. Which brought a strange thought to her.
"What if I'm a demon?"
The thought remained there briefly, silly as it was, causing her to giggle briefly as she seemed to have magically removed her own anger, before realising the situation she was currently in and covering the budding smile and soft, sweet tone of a laugh. Battles always made her giddy, and while she didn't particularly enjoy them, the idea that she wasn't going to lose any friends like she had back in the war made her chest feel slightly warmer inside, the soft sensation of having nothing to lose, not since the cat-person had wounded her so and betrayed her with that strange elven woman. She giggled a little more, more silently than before at the strange situation that seemed so illogical in her mind as to why she was doing any of this, or why she was acting so strangely before looking around and taking notice of the other members of this strange building.

The elf she didn't like, another elf, which she didn't know, the cat-person that had betrayed her, the demon, and a person she hadn't exactly noticed before, an ashy looking human, that also shared a small resemblance to a demon, yet looked like a very strange mixture of them all. What a strange group of people to be charging into battle with, yet she couldn't be happier as it all seemed to laughable at the strangeness of the circumstances that had led them here. "I must be a fool, I-I'm sorry.. but this is.. This is all quite funny." she laughed cheerily, running out of air, gasping for more while continuing with the flow of soft apianian giggling, a strange sense of madness flooding over her as her instincts, and mind, went hysterical

Her gaze was pulled from the elven-like receptionist to the one who seemed like he could have easily been part of the undead horde. He snapped at her saying she would have already been dead if he had been part of the enemy troops. Her words did bring about an worrisome prospect, if he was undead did that mean he could fall under Turenval's sway?

Veth silently waited as the receptionist checked the status of the armory and kitchen. She listened as a reply came that supplies from the armory had been transported to the city under siege and wasn't surprised to hear there was strange activity from within the kitchen. At least now the golems were charged with stopping further looting. It was one thing to flee like a coward, it was another to grab supplies meant to support those staying to fight. Emily suggested they begin to reinforce the fort, something that would hopefully prepare them for the inevitable attack that would come here as well.

The human woman who had been at the desk seemed hesitant, stating she wanted to help but didn't know what to do. Veth looked her over to see what she could glean from the stranger, she'd never seen her before, but that wasn't shocking. Veth was still fairly unfamiliar with most of the members. The annoying dark one replied with more patience and seriousness than she expected. She was a bit unnerved when he removed his mask. She also hadn't expected to be thrown a mana bomb and the slightest frown appeared as she looked at the one who had done it as she caught it.

He explained that it needed to keep moving in order to avoid it exploding prematurely, even then it would still explode in two minutes. "This one apologizes for any mess about to happen," Veth directed to the receptionist before moving within range of her target as he had wandered away to where Ki'Tavi was. She approached him, juggling the mana bomb between two hands so that it was in constant motion. She half-listened to his report of the status of Xhorhas that he informed Ki'Tavi about.

"This is not a time for games," she snapped at him in an abnormal amount of emotion from her, taking the orb and throwing it at him, however at the last moment she breathed a spell under her breath and a gust of wind redirected the orb away from impact, whooshing it above the heads of others in the area and out of the door. She heard Bem giggle and turned to look at the bee-girl wondering if she had lost her mind. Only moments ago the creature had been upset and now she was happy? The laughter agitated Veth and when Bem spoke about how this was all amusing to her, Veth's fist clenched.

Veth struggled but managed to retreat from the edge of her anger spilling over and reacting impulsively. "Xhorhas is lost and we should not depend on those who are there and survived to return if there is teleport interference then. We need to check the walls for any weaknesses and reinforce those that are. The undead army is the least concern, it is the Death Knights that are the threat. We will not be able to even stall the army should they come this way with this current chaos here. This one suggests sending the mercenaries to set up traps along the perimeter of the guild at a small distance to at least slow down the undead army. Should the walls be breached, the traps should hopefully offer additional time before we are overrun," she suggested to Ki'Tavi as he was the only one his group would listen to orders from.

Lucius felt some relief as the woman managed to break free from the chains. He had to choose between assisting the paladin or her, opting to purge the undead and charred bodies of the fallen paladins dragging their leader to certain death. He swooped down, shooting at them precisely with holy arrows to kill them quickly. He landed nearby, still shooting arrows as more tried to complete their task given by the Death Knight. "Get up," he shouted at the man.[/div][/div][/div]
