For me, it's simply just another thing I have to put down.
Since I know most people are fine with this decision, I simply am voicing my first world, authentic, somewhat privileged, opinion.
It's a really good idea, but I'm just lazy :p

Mech, it's a great Idea Idea since it'll make it so people won't have to stick to time constraints. Idea will simply have to make certain days of importance so that we line up our interactions accordingly.

Sure, it'll be confusing to start, but once everyone makes it apparent in their post what exact date it is, then it won't be a problem.

Idea Idea the only thing I'm thinking about is the post limit. Since people will be interacting without the constraints of the time, I can most definitely think that there will be more posts. More than the limit? I dunno, but you can never be so sure.

Just ma' thoughts.
Uh, you misunderstood, this is on top of time not instead

However, this will make the issue repeat itself again. I can't skip every scene just because it's going a little stale, some scenes can be very important for the characater development of particular characters. But with the addition of days, we can make it the scene doesn't need to be skipped to move on to the next one.

It's easier to go backwards than forwards. When the majority of people are done with a scene, move forward. Those who still have things to do can simply do posts in the past. I look at The Riba/...whatshisface interactions about bones. That went on for quite a long time after the dorm scene started but it was still set prior to the tour.

The majority of players are done with the dorm scene, so move on. Those who still have some things to do can just post as if nothing happened and catch up at their leisure.

Isn't the whole idea to literally skip the scene and then move on?

Yes, theoretically it'd allow you to return back to scenes you skipped later. But that won't actually work in practice. I mean, if you've already posted what your character is doing after the scene has ended, you more or less throwing all the potential character development that scene could have lead too out of the window.

You're getting it all backwards. The idea is to allow us not to skip the entire scene, just move on to the next scene while allowing those that want to still somewhat linger in the previous one

As Xel Xel mentioned, people have already been doing precisely that which means that this addition would be completely pointless in that case.

But only regarding time. Doing this would give them the option to move from scenes that move from separate days.

Let me put it this way. If you timeskipped us to the next day. If we went and did classes. Karcen Karcen Randomfella Randomfella and me would probably each put out at least one post's worth of content closing up our dorm scene, even though the current time is the next day entirely.

As I said, it's easier to go back than forward. Me going and making a post of Toki going to classes, right now, would make it super awkward to then go back and roleplay the dorm scene. However the entire RP moving onto the next day allows me to make half my post the dorm scene, and the second half the next day. As we saw with the timeskip through the tour.

Rather than add some random per-person timeskip just make a poll after a reasonable time asking if they're ready to move on. For those who vote no they can continue to rp in the past as people have been doing all along. I mean, there will ALWAYS be those lingering behind for whatever reason, we can't wait for literally every person to be finished. So there will always be people roleplaying in both the previous scene and the current one. So you move on when the majority is ready to move on in order to keep a good pace.

I think you're missing the point entirely, but I guess the vote will speak for itself. I pray the correct side of the discussion, whichever it might be, wins.

Ah just for the record so it isn't misunderstood, jumping from one day to the other is different from jumping from one point in the same day to the other, as there is no overlap of times in one whereas in the other there can be.

Idea Idea , Xel Xel has a point, jumping back and forth between days would be awkward depending how much time you're allowing to jump ahead of. if you are thinking day(s) being skipped over this will not work as character development, interaction, and actions are not set in stone or as stable as saying one writer writing a whole story by themselves compared to us RPers just playing a character in a world not controlled by them. Meaning that the time being skipped over could affect the character in a way that wasn't predicted, possibly making the event skipped to seem out of character in the read back. We should be trying to keep everyone in the same time period if not day.

This be a different story if the time skipped being skipped isn't days but say periods in the day or skipping to the next morning. Use the school time schedule for this as it is a perfect example. From morning to before Homeroom students can do what they want/need such as prepare, interact, or whatever till either 1; the RPer playing the teacher is ready to begin class. Or 2; some event important enough that affects all the RPers as a whole (and their characters would be aware of) is about to happen. Then when in class RPers can interact with the teacher or each other (Depending on the situation) or since you have breaks between classes, just make a post skipping to the break with mention of what happened in class that didn't directly affect their character (Again situational). and wash, rinse, repeat of waiting for the teacher character to be ready/event, interact in class if able/play through to break to interact and/or taking the break to either interact or wait for next class.

It seems I still wasn't clear, this isn't a per-person timeskip, and more like, when we all timeskip creating an opportunity for some to remain. As it is with the current time mechanic, the transition that would allow one to finish a scene at their own pace doesn't exist. Even flashbacks have only been those specifically sanctioned by my GM posts.

Oh. I get it. We'd timeskip forward as normal and as everyone would expect, but that means people in the past have nothing to really jump out and say "THIS PART IS IN THE PAST". So the day system would allow that. If that's the case, if the day system is merely nothing more than a way of allowing people to differentiate between current time and past time then I don't mind it being a thing.
