Okay, I've seen it spelled several different ways (in the interest check by Ginge alone!) How do you spell that? Aggrirran? Agrirran? Agrririan? One G or two? One or two Rs and where? XD

Seriously though, I think it's either Aggriran or Agrirran. You can't go wrong with either one, and we can let Ginge clarify once he's back haha

Heya, just a quick question. Does the Agrirran vein extend to minerals of any type, or just specifically dirt and stone? I was planning on doing some minor things with metals, but wanted to see if that was in keeping with the vein's theme rather than just assume that it was all inclusive. If not, I can think of something else, I already have a replacement in mind, but plain simple minerals would be ideal, like iron and copper and some common gemstones like jade or quartz, nothing overly precious or valuable.

Question about magic: I know you can channel magic through a focus (ring, staff, etc.), but what about storing it? Like, can a ring or staff be filled with a spell by casting it "into" the item and then expending it later since the energy has already been transferred to it? It would obviously require both a stronger item than normal to hold the spell while it's away from the body (but it would be a one-time cast rather than a sustained drain in your power) as well as as a focused spell into the item, meaning you'd wear yourself out outside of combat/spellcasting to give yourself a one-shot spell later at no/very reduced effort. The restrictions would be obvious, it would have to be a specific spell and it would have to have a specific trigger, so you couldn't adapt it to whatever situation was at hand, you'd just have a free spell lying around that anyone can use.

EDIT: And I have read the OOC comments about enchanting items directly, but I think this is kind of different, where rather than the item being enchanted to have the effect by itself (flaming sword, bag of holding, etc.) the spell is just dormant inside of the object until it's released in one go by outside magical pressure.

fortunately it is possible to combat this fatigue by channeling the magic exertion through the hand into an external object, which then takes the strain in the wielder’s place. For example, rings, staffs and gloves are popular choices, though their endurance is dependent on their material - a cheap ring might break after a single minute of magic, whilst a well-made glove might last a few months before eventually getting destroyed.

Sorry that it's taken so long, and I'm humbled by your willingness to wait and stall things out for me - a lesser bunch of RPers would have been far less understanding! I'm now back home from uni so will have a ton of time to work on poss once I'm better too, meaning I'll be trying to post every couple of days to catch up!

As a bit of an update on my health, I've suffered from poor health generally all year as a result of generally doing a poor job of taking care of myself, and the latest batch has been sinus pains basically since like Sunday and they've sadly just got worse as opposed to getting better as I hoped. This has been coupled with general exhaustion, poor sleep and generally shoddy mental health, making it incredibly difficult for me to think up anything all that creative. However I do hope to be back to posting regularly!

To avoid future delays, I'd like to introduce an 8 day rule. Basically if you're interacting with somebody and they haven't replied within eight days, you have permission to just navigate your character's past that interaction with some kind of summary statement (like 'they spoke about ____', etc), just so that things don't bog down. Whilst I think it was worth waiting this time given we're so early on, in the future you guys have permission to press on without me if illness troubles me again - after all, that's part of the reason we have Semblance too, so that there's always somebody around to run things!

So, I asked a bunch of questions about the RP since I popped in that only you can answer and my characters are kinda relying on, so if you wanna answer those whenever you get to them, I'd much appreciate it.

I also love Semblance's answer, especially because the spellings I was referencing did come from the Magic page XD As such:


And I saw several other sightings of the word with multiple R's as well, so I am thoroughly confused, not that it matters XD Perhaps Semblance is correct after all and it's an ancient art that has long been forgotten how it was called XD

To answer some of your other questions, I'd envisioned Agrirran stuff to be mainly orientated around earth and plant life as opposed to materials but am willing to be flexible with it and see what your ideas are. Semblance was right with the channelling, the answer would be no regarding storing magic because the articles act more as a place to displace the residual strain onto as opposed to holding the magic itself. Hope that helps!

Regarding the pacing of the RP, let me throw out a question for you guys: how long would you like to continue playing out these initial interactions for? I'd like to move on to the twins capture stuff about this time next week if possible but it depends ultimately on how much time you guys want to spend having fun with these first conversations!

Hmm I have a few reservations about things. My original plan was that Thalia had dropped by the library and taken really mundane scrolls to cover the town hall records if the bag was found, taking more than she needed from the town hall might raise suspicion. Also, Thalia and Alexis were moved to Salarch at a very young age, she wouldn't have the opportunity to help Lukas before now unless he was in Salarch as well.
Cool idea though, if Sky and Semblance approve, then I've got no issue.
