  • Elias R. and Charlie Ernest
    24et75h.gif

Elias had been sitting on the bench for awhile, flipping his phone over and over, waiting for that damn phone call. He had a lot to think about, and it wasn't about work this time. He figured that he would ride out this season comfortably, but no, she had to intervene again. He wasn't angry, just frustrated. Always picking the worst time to do things, huh? He thought, narrowing his eyes. Eli snapped out of his thoughts when he was approached by sweet Eleanor. He looked a little confused at first, but remembered that she and Val were together most of the day, so she probably knew. The elder let out a long sigh- he hadn't realized he was holding it in. "You really are too kind. To be honest, I'll need all the help I can get." He did a careless shrug. "I'm glad I have more people that won't hesitate to help me back on my feet." Eli opened his mouth to return the farewell, but his phone began to buzz and ring.

"Dad!" Charlie's voice rang out, loud enough to even be heard through the doors. The boy rode along the path on a skateboard, a Christmas present from Eli. He stopped and pushed open the door, giving both of them a large smile. His father, heart lifting, had closed the gap and picked up his son. "Charles! My little monster!" He put the child down and answered the phone, confirming that he arrived. Charlie waved at Ellie. "You're the lady that gives me cookies.."

Eleanor paused when he heard the familiar sound of Charlie's voice. A smile danced on her lips, and she watched as Eli hugged his son, ever so fondly. Ellie had always respected Eli for being a great dad to Charlie since she had lost both her mother and father. She pushed that thought out of her mind as she heard Charlie call out to her.

"You're the lady that gives me cookies."

"Hey Charlie!" she waved at him, "I am, sorry I didn't know you were coming in tonight, or I would have had a whole box full of them just for you. Oh, wait I think I can get some of the extras!" Ellie motioned Eli to wait for a moment and entered the Cafe. it was nearing closing since tomorrow was the big Movie night, and it meant she was working the double shift after class.

"Hey, guys!" she called out as she entered the Cafe, "Do you guys have by any chance any of those white chocolate chip cookies left over? I know a someone who might want some." Ellie glanced beach at Eli and Charlie as she waited for them to put the cookies into a longer cookie box. Once they handed it over to Ellie, she waved them goodbye and headed back out.

"A box full of white chocolate chip cookies, just for you Charlie," she offered the box to him and continued, "But promise me to share with you dad and Joseph, alright?" She looked up Eli and she gave him a sweet smile, "Well, I have to head to bed since I have an early class tomorrow. If you ever need me, you know where to find me. Good night, you two!"

She headed back to her apartment and called out to her Aunt and Uncle about her return. Ellie quickly closed her door behind her, as she noticed her phone had a notification. When she opened it up, she noticed it was from Val, apologizing about earlier. She just smiled and texted him back.

Walter O'Brien

Walter had a gun to a suspects face. 'Not how I wanted my afternoon to go' In the center of town with multiple agencies and officers with gun out and pointing at this one guy must have scared people. This guy had started shooting at officers when they were walking around. 2 officers shot and killed. 12 more injured. Walter couldn't stand staying there. So he left, he walked home. As he walked into the Lobby, he nodded at a lady walking to her apartment. Noting he was covered in blood. It was no surprise to him that when she waved back, she had shock in her face.

"And that's it!" Statton roared out, standing up straight and rubbing her lower back. She looked at the couch and tv where Dalia and the pets were, snuggled up and watching Summer Wars with some snacks. She leaned against the door frame and watched the movie, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Auntie Tatter, I'm hungry." Dalia's dark brown head popped out from between the two medium sized dogs and cat and looked at Statton. Statton smiled, walking over to her niece, picking her up and setting her down beside her. "How about you and auntie go get something to eat? Daddy still has to finish putting his stuff up so you and me can go get something to eat and make new friends. How's that sound, pumpkin?" she asked Dalia who nodded and ran to put her shoes on. Statton smiled and stood back up, putting her own shoes on.

"Hey, Beck, Dalia and I are going to go get some food from the café in the lobby. Come join us when you're done." she called down the hall and the sound of things falling came after so she just took that as his answer.

"Alright, Dalia, let's go." she grabbed her phone and keys, adjusting her tank top and shorts. Her clothes weren't too revealing, but they did show off her artwork. Tattoos were a conversation piece and a way for Statton to get new clients as well as friends.

Statton and Dalia hopped into the elevator and made their way down to the lobby where the cafe was. Once there, Dalia ran as fast as her short and stubby legs could carry her. "FFFFOOOOOODDDDD!" the little girl screamed.

"Dalia! Get back here!" Statton yelled after her but Dalia was out of her sight in the blink of an eye.

Elias was unable to answer Eleanor after she gave his son free cookies, but he did give a thumbs up and a short wave in acknowledgement. After she left, he got off the phone and walked Charlie down the hall, only to stop in front of the café for a moment due to Eli getting a text from his backup editor. The chapters were edited in time, thank god.
"Dad, what are we gonna do this weekend? It's getting warmer, so we can go to the beach again, right?" As Charlie spoke, he noticed another man entering the building, but a sudden shout of a little girl caught his attention. She had nearly ran into the boy, and he had to lean back to save his precious snacks. "Hey! You can really hurt yourself if you don't watch where you're going.." He talked with concern, but had a smile on his face at the sight of another kid in Suncrest. Finally, he wouldn't be completely alone!
"Charlie, it's time to- Oh." Eli walked over and looked down at the small girl. "Well, good evening to you, too! I'm Elias."
"And I'm Charlie! I heard you shouting about snacks.." The boy opened the box of cookies. "Do you want one?"

Dalia was fueled purely by the thought of having a warm chocolate chip cookie in her small hands that she honestly didn't see where she was going. Her young mind was racing at 110 miles an hour that when her body stopped, she was confused. Dalia looked up at the boy and furrowed her eyes, looking around for her aunt but not seeing her.

Before she could do anything, a tall man came up next to the boy and Dalia looked between the two. She bit her lip and looked around to see if her aunt was close and was about to run away to look for her, but when the boy opened the box of cookies Dalia's eyes widened and a big ole smile spread across her lips.

She nodded quickly and stuck her hand inside of the box, grabbing a chocolate chip cookie and looking up at the two. "Tanks! My name Dalia and I'm three years old! I have a daddy, a Tatter, two puppies and a kitty cat." she told them before biting into the cookie. After swallowing the first bite, she seemed to open up more. "Do you wanna play at my new house with me? It's up there!" she pointed up to the ceiling and grinned, taking another bite of the cookie.

"Dalia Everly Roux!" Statton's voice boomed out as she came around the corner, her brows furrowed. Dalia turned quickly to see Statton and held up her half eaten cookie and pointed to the people she had just met.

"Tatter look! I got a cookie from Ewies Chawwie." she yelled with a great big smile and ran to Statton, hugging her legs. Statton looked down at her niece and looked at the guy and boy. "Don't tell you're daddy this happened." she sighed, knowing already that she couldn't stay mad at Dalia because she was just the cutest. Statton patted Dalia's back and took her free hand, walking over to the guys.

"Thanks for giving her the cookie. I'm sorry if she almost ran over you guys." she apologized and smiled at both of them. "I'm Statton by the way. Or Tatter as Dalia calls me. We just moved here today and-" Statton stopped mid sentence when she felt Dalia hitting her leg with her chocolate covered fingers. "What is it baby?" she knelt down and felt Dalia's hands cup around her ear.

"Can they come to daddy's game tomowwow?" she practically said in a normal voice because she has yet to master whispering. Statton looked up at the two with a grin and shook her head. "If they want to, why don't you ask them?"

After a few more hours of, in a way, socially interactive game play, Lewis said farewell to his teammates and retired to his notepad and a pencil. Yes, an actual notepad and pencil, because it feels better than typing. As a storyteller, he was going to have to work on future chapters of his comics and books. He wouldn't want to keep his loyal readers waiting for too long. There'd be a new chapter by Monday at the most, he promised to them. It couldn't be too hard to think of a continuation of his last chapter. A bit of comedy, foreshadowing, a hint of action, and maybe a plot twist or two. The perfect concoction for a subpar chapter. If only it was that easy. The protagonist had just killed the traitorous nephew of the prince, ending a five years curse. Now what? The prince has to be upset, but what wording should he use?

"What have you done?! After years of sorrow and turmoil, now this! How dare you betray, not only me, but the royal family! As much as it harms me, I'll have you hung for what you've done." Lewis announced, acting as if he were his character. His voice boomed with emotion like a player in the theatre.

"No, that's too dramatic even for him." The Canadian backtracked, chewing on the sleeves of his jacket. It was a habit to chew on things when he was thinking. This destroyed a lot of his clothes, but he could always buy new ones.

Note after note was ripped and thrown away. Lewis could feel the temptation radiating off of his pc. One game can't hurt, his mind would say, yet he knew the truth. One game meant twenty more with his logic. Persevering for about an hour, he had decided it, he had hit the dreaded writer's block. This randomly occurring event was the enemy of all storytellers since the beginning of time. It brought the quality of books and comics tumbling down with a single difficult chapter.

No, I must prevail! I cannot let mere words stop from completing such masterpiece. I created this myself and I will be the one to bring it to its end. In Lewis' mind it was like a scene straight out of his writing. Epic, orchestral music played as the lead of his pencil hit the notebook. With determination shining clear in his eyes, he wrote with the fiery passion of a young college student. A young college student who forgot that the twelve page essay on mental illness was due that night. Everything was perfect. From the dots of the I's, to the phrasing of hatred and betrayal. His final product was beautiful, but only in his own eyes. The passage he had wrote was honestly mediocre, however, the feeling of glory was still there.

"Oh its my pleasure! And I know both Jasper and I are glad you were able to bring little Samson here!" Felix smiles happily as Lexi knelt down to let Samson free, Jasper sniffing the smaller cat before sitting and giving Samson a small head lick. Gasping as he accepted the wine, Felix's mouth hung open a little as Lexi named the Chardonnay. "You are far too kind Alexis! But it would be rude to turn down such a generous gift, and it will go splendidly with the fish!" Cradling the wine gently in his arm he turned, allowing her to pass, scooting Jasper back a little with his foot, much to Jasper's displeasure. A small blush rose to his cheeks as Lexi complimented his appearance. He was never real good at taking compliments. "Thank you that is very nice of you to say, but really its nothing. I like to live a simple life."

As Felix turned to step into his apartment, allowing the door to swing close, he turned back tot he entry, surprised to find the door being stopped by another foot; followed closely with a casual knock from a younger man that was not Eli. "Evening. I'm taking Eli's place tonight since he's... Busy with family business. Hope I am good enough company." The man seemed to be about Felix's age, if not a year or so older.

"Well I don't see the harm in it! The more the merrier, am I right Felix?"
Faster than he could react Lexi had a hand out to the new comer, introducing herself. Felix stepped aside to allow the man, who introduced himself as Joseph Valentino, inside.

Swinging the door shut behind Joseph Felix smiled as Joseph looked around, the two cats meowing at each other quietly near the door. "Oh. Um, no thanks. I don't drink. Water's fine for me." Felix could tell the young man felt embarrassed for some reason by his body language. As Joseph knelt down to play with the cats Felix nodded, smiling. "No problem. I will go get everything set up it will take a few moments though. I will bring the food out as soon as I can!" With a smile he moved to the kitchen, setting to work setting the plates.

Lexi has left alongside Joseph as she tried to look for anything to say to the young man. When she saw Samson beside Jasper, looking up at the older cat as if amused about having another cat around. Lexi let out a delicate giggle as she watched them interact then she turned to Joseph and asked, "So, how long have you lived in Suncrest, Joseph? I mean I have always been away from my apartment since I first arrived, so I seem to not have time to actually meet met my neighbors..."

Lexi had lived in the same apartment for three years now, and not once did she meet any of her neighbors. She knew Ellie do to going to the Cafe every morning, but she didn't know anyone else. Hell, today she has met three of her neighbors, and two other gentlemen at the grocery store after trying to help out Ian. She really missed having people outside of her job to actually interact over beside talking about the next article that needed to be edited. Now, she had all the time in the world to focus on her designs, which caused her to have a smile on her face.

Charlie watched as the girl, Dalia, ran back to her mom. Parts of the cookie crumbled to the floor, but he didn't mind giving her another one. She was incredibly cute! And not annoying like the little girl back at his mother's apartment. Before he could happily accept her invitation to play, his father stepped forward a bit and placed a hand on his head in affection.

And to show off his wonderful son.
"Welcome to Suncrest, Statton and little Dalia! I'm glad that I'm meeting new faces everywhere I turn. It's almost like destiny." Eli purred. He loved being social, and the more people he had around, the more happy he was. While Dalia caught her aunt's attention, Charlie tugged Eli's hand down to whisper something to him as well. He was much better at it. "Hey, dad-"
His father's expression slightly fell, and he shook his head. "She's too small to skateboard, Charlie. But maybe you two can paint together? You did bring your paints, right?" The boy nodded, but looked a little sour. Elias' hand return to it's place on Charlie's neck and he offered a smile. "What's this about a game? Your father plays sports? That's pretty interesting!"
"You're not very athletic, dad.." Charlie mumbled.
"W-well, most dads are interested in sports.."
"You once changed the channel on a basketball game me and Val were watching.. To watch a sappy movie." Charlie stuck his tongue out.
"Val and I, Charlie." Elias quickly corrected. "And it was a movie that came out when I was a teenager! A classic! How could you call it sappy.. Anyways! We'd be glad to come."

Felix hummed lightly as he put the finishing touches on the dinner, smiling as the light conversation drifted around the apartment. As he dished the meal up the smell wafted through the air, causing Jasper to meow loudly. Chuckling Felix set a small plate of fish down next to a saucer of milk to the side on the counter before balancing the three plates, heading for the table, calling out. "Alright, dinner is served! Sit anywhere you like, make yourself comfortable!"

Felix set the plates down gently at the table, happy he cleared it earlier that day of disaster of potting soil and garden supplies. It had taken a solid hour to clean and detail the kitchen and table so it was not literally dirty from his gardening projects. Crossing back tot he kitchen he quickly uncorked the wine, pouring two glasses, holding them in one hand and the bottle as the other as he went back tot he table. Setting the glasses and bottle down he sat, sipping his wine, looking over at the other two.

"What about you? Haven't seen you around at all. Is it because of work?"

Lexi knelt before the cats as she answered,
"I have lived at Suncrest for three years now... My old work took more of my life than I actually thought it would, but I am finally free from all of that. I can finally give Samson all of the attention he needs." Samson purred under Joseph's touch, causing Lexi to smile at her little kitten's enjoyment. He had never actually had anyone besides her and Ellie to give him pets.

"Alright, dinner is served! Sit anywhere you like, make yourself comfortable!"

Lexi looked over to Felix as he began to set down their plate. Getting up from the floor and smiled at Felix,
"Everything looks so good, Felix." Taking a seat in front of him, she took the other wine glass and sipped it, taking in the refreshing taste of the Chardonnay. Aw, that takes me back! Taking a bit of the meal as well, Lexi sighed in pure joy. Once she swallowed, she looked over to Felix and praised his meal, "My gods! This is so delicious, Felix! Then again it has been a while since I had a homecooked meal. Before today I either ate takeout or go for business dinners."

Statton looked at the man who she wasn't sure what his name was, mainly because she didn't think his name was Ewies but Elies was a possibility. She watched him and his son talk and the look on Dalia's face changed from one that was hopeful to ecstatic. "Painting, painting, painting!" Dalia cheered, throwing her fists in the air and marching in circles.

This made Statton laugh but she looked back to Ewie, the nickname she decided she'd call him, and smiled. "Thanks for the welcome. And I'm always drawing things for Dalia to color if you ever want me to draw something for you, let me know, ok?" she looked at Charlie and smiled, then proceeded to listen at the two went back and forth.

"You two are funny, I like it." she grinned and folded her arms over her chest. "Awesome, I'll tell Beck to add two more tickets with ours. It's opening day tomorrow so Dalia and I are going out there early to look at the field and meet some of the players if you want to come that early, but you don't have to." she smiled and reached into her pocket, grabbing her phone and handing it to the man. "Put your number in so we can keep in touch and hang out some more." she grinned and looked at Dalia who had stopped marching and was now looking up at Charlie and seemed to be asking him something.

"You can come meet my puppies and kitty cat too! They're reawwy nice and this big!" she held her hands up to be just as tall as she was and seemed to really be excited about meeting another kid. After all, there really wasn't any kids in their old neighborhood. Just a bunch of old people who's grandkids would come by every now and then.

The elevator opened and the sound of footsteps caught Statton's attention because they seemed to be coming closer to them.

Nick blinked a few times, taking it all in. He was beyond used to having people show up on his doorstep, but this was different. The girl seemed a lot more sociable now, pleasant even. As she was a fellow lyricist, he didn't see any harm in offering to help her out, even if she was practically a stranger.

"Lyrics? I haven't been having the best luck with them tonight, but I'll help if you'd like. I warn you though, I can't write love songs." He smirked a bit at the last line, but it wasn't exactly untrue. Just the thought of sappy, fake lines promising a blissful forever made him cringe.

At the mention of cake however, his heavily-lined eyes practically glowed. "Not sure how you learned my weakness, but I could definitely go for some sugar right now. Thanks," he said smoothly, icy attitude melting away just a little further.

He then nodded at her greeting, offering a vague smile. "Saren? Nice to meet you, or whatever the socially acceptable greeting is these days." Nick rolled his eyes, having never really seen the point of social niceties.

"Anyway, I doubt you need an introduction but for the sake of not sounding like a pretentious jerk, it's Nicholas Sterling... you probably know me as Spook, though."

She seemed a bit nervous, and the teenage celebrity wondered if he'd gone too far with the snark yet again. Oh, his handlers would be mad. Especially since she was a pretty important name in the industry. Sigh.

Spook's apathetic act was shattered when the sounds and lights coming from his bedroom caused him to jump a good two inches in the air. Whatever that was, it couldn't be good.

Horror stories of home invasions and deranged fans flashed through his mind, and he froze in wide-eyed terror for a moment before stepping protectively in front of Saren. Lowering his voice to a whisper, he turned to her before palming his phone and opening his list of contacts.

"I have no idea what that was, but it's probably bad news. I'm going to call my security team, but first I have to get Fluffy out of there. You stay here, or go back to your apartment..."

With his phone one tap away from dialling the emergency number, Nicholas crept inside towards his room, determined that whatever happened, his beloved tarantula would not be getting caught in the crossfire.

Once he opened the door however, his jaw practically dropped.

"I think I like it better over there, actually. No! Not there, over there!" Vivienne demanded, lounging on her plushy couch as she sipped ice-cold raspberry lemonade from a vintage mason jar.

The teenage moving assistant sighed, setting down the heavy and decidedly tacky statue to catch a much-needed breather. He looked to Vivienne wearily, and the woman rolled her eyes. He was getting paid for this, and he had absolutely no right to complain.

"Come to think of it, it was better in my bedroom. The living room is already pretty crowded, and you haven't even unpacked my antique chair yet. Try the far corner of the room this time, will you?"

Honestly, moving was so difficult. Viv was beyond bored of redecorating, and had already forgotten her command to the mover as she typed out a fresh and juicy article for her blog. This should turn heads, she thought, a wicked grin curling her sparkly pink lips.

After another few hours of having everything arranged and rearranged, Vivienne was finally satisfied. Her latest update was already generating hits and plenty of chatter, and a few of the rumors she'd helped stir up had finally made it to the big press. Success.

What better a way to celebrate than some late-night retail therapy and later-night entertainment?

Sliding on a tight-fitting glittery pink dress, Vivienne grabbed her designer purse and headed out the door towards the elevators, feeling deviously confident.

"What a lovely evening," she said to herself, heels clicking as she walked.

Elias had a fairly large smile on his face at such generosity. What a lovely and interesting town he lived in! He punched in his phone number and saved it under 'Eli and Charlie', just in case Dalia wanted to contact his son as well.
"Thank you so much, really! I think this'll be fun. And a small distraction to get my mind back together.." Elias mumbled off, looking at his son. Charlie had appeared to be a little overwhelmed by the child, trying to bottle his excitement to look like one of the adults. But it wasn't working against Dalia. The boy had been the first to notice her father, and he could see some resemblances. He thought of his own appearance, barely looking like Eli but awfully similar to his mother. Mom..
    tumblr_oj33cr7KGH1t2sdbno1_500.gif

"I'm Elias Ernest. Eli, for short. This is Charlie." Elias gladly shook Beckett's hand, completely relieved in getting to know everyone here. The place he lived in previously hadn't been very social. Charlie snapped out of his thoughts and gave Beck a quick nod. "N-no problem. I didn't have friends here or in the city, really.." He looked down at his feet, but lifted his head again upon feeling Eli's hand on it.
"You can always call me if you would like Charlie over to play. Speaking of playing.." The older man suddenly looked a bit sheepish. "What sport are we going to watch you compete in..?"

Saren
The woman was glad the meeting was going well, and turns out she didn't have anything to worry about regarding the dessert. Hearing his name resonate throughout her ears was relieving. Now Saren didn't have to worry about not knowing what to call, or not to call him. She would love to say things were going well, and that this evening would be a lyrical journey. But fate had other plans. Nick had more or less deemed her useless she had assumed, as he told her to escape while he went in to investigate the flash of light that emanated from his apartment. But Saren was not a damsel in distress, nor would she flee from this event. What if it really was aliens??? She had to know.

Following in after him without a word, she prepared herself for the very worst. Only...what she saw caused her to gasp in surprise, her eyes widened. It was the girl from the elevator, and more so, she was even tidying up his room. And...folding his underwear?? Well....this certainly escalated quickly...She wasn't sure at first. When she had seen the two in the elevator earlier, chastised herself even. But this. This. Practically confirmed her thoughts, did it not?

"It's you. From the elevator." Her voice was a little too nonchalant, trying to hide the fact that she was feeling very awkward right now. "Thought you said I wasn't interrupting something?" She questioned Nick.

When Nicholas saw what had actually caused the commotion, a deranged murderer with an axe sounded downright wonderful. At least he would've died with a shred of dignity.

Instead, it was the crazy girl from the elevator, and from the looks of what she'd been caught doing, she'd recently hopped the full-on train to loonyville. If that wasn't enough, the tone in Saren's voice suggested she had other ideas... the kind that would cost him his career if she chose to sell them to a magazine.

He had to do damage control, and fast.

"Look, crazy chick, I have no idea what you're doing or how you managed to bypass a million-dollar antitheft system, but you're going to have a lot of explaining to do as soon as my security team gets here. Breaking and entering into a stranger's apartment is a crime, you know," he said, his tone turning downright condescending towards the end.

He approached her with an eerie calmness, hoping she'd get scared enough to regret what she'd done. His entire livelihood was on the line if certain assumptions were to be made, and he had absolutely no desire to lose his fame or fortune over some creep with no sense of personal boundaries.

"Anyway, unless you accidentally teleported yourself here, you're gonna have a lot of fun in court. Now step away from my tarantula," Nick hissed, his usually velvet voice going steely. There was no way some lunatic was going to hurt his Fluffy. No way.

Marching past her with a flip of his raven hair, Spook picked up the entire terrarium and cradled it close to his chest before retreating towards the doorway and giving Saren a wide-eyed and horrified glance. Hopefully, she realized this was a home invasion and not... well, he shuddered in disgust just thinking of it.

Sasha looked up when Nicholas entered the room. Still holding a pair of underwear she sighed. Thinking out loud, At least I'm not in Russia. Sasha finished one more folding process as she listened to Nicholas, Saren, then Nicholas again.

Sasha stood calmly, to explain her situation, not that there was anything wrong with what she was doing, but just because Nicholas seemed to be freaking out over minor things. Nonchalantly she said,
Well, I didn't accidentally teleport over here. I guess I calibrated my machine wrong. I don't think the law covers inter-dimensional tears in space-time, so I'm not breaking any laws. I just noticed your room was messy, so I thought I'd help out and clean up a little.

Sasha waited for Nicholas to calm down, her blank expression showing her own calmness in the situation. He looked like he was about to have a heart attack, holding his spider tank close to his chest, and Sasha was eager to get back to cleaning.

It was starting to get dark, signaling the time for dinner. Anastasia had moved here only recently, to the lovely place of Suncrest. She loved the place, they even had a cafe for the culinarily challenged, which is where she made her way to.

Push him down the stairs.
Fix his tie.
Tell her she looks fat.
She's giving you an evil look.
He thinks you're ugly.
She grabbed her things and left her apartment, which overlooked the hallway to the elevator, though she chose to take the stairs right next to them. She passed a few people on her way down, giving an awkward half wave and greeting.

Tell her she looks pretty
Order an extra large
Give her your wallet
Give the person behind you a high five
Anastasia made her way to the cafe. She waited patiently in line, giving awkward smiles towards people. She never knew quite how to act when she passed by others. Should she say hello in a friendly manner? They won't really ever talk after that. Should she keep her head down? Would that seem rude? So she tried not to look at others. She spent her time in line perusing the menu. They had a lot, surprisingly, for a cafe in an apartment complex.

As Anastasia's turn arrived, she smiled awkwardly at the cashier. She hated when Jayde, the voice in her head, told her to do things. Most of the time she could ignore it. With an awkward, shaky voice Anastasia said,
You look pretty today. The cashier smiled and blushed a little, thanking Anastasia for her comment. After ordering an extra large sandwhich combo, which she definitely wouldn't be able to finish, the cashier told her her amount. Anastasia handed over her wallet reluctantly for the girl to take out the money herself. She gave a weak chuckle to try and play it off.

Throw your food on them
Make them carry your tray
Take their wallet
Tell them they look nice
The cashier was kind enough to take right right amount and hand Anastasia her wallet back without question, though Anastasia wondered what she thought. Before stepping out of the line to get her food, she turned around to the person behind her. She held up her hand, and in mock excitement,
High five? Haha heh.

Saren
Watching everything unfold, Saren still wasn't exactly buying everything. Just how was this girl supposed to get through what Nick described as a top notch security system? Or was she really that good? She was still slightly disappointed it wasn't an alien. Or was it? Nick more or less went off on the girl and recovered his pet tarantula, which Saren bit her lip a bit nervously. She wasn't the best around spiders. And, it wasn't that she hated them. But a certain incident in 5th grade where the class pet was a tarantula, ended up escaping the cage and it had crawled up Saren's back, and, ultimately became a tragic experience for her. Nobody helped, they just circled her and laughed. Some of them would scream and shove her away to avoid being "contaminated". The following days she was harassed because of it, and people seemed to isolate her. Saren never really understood it till this day. But it was the end of public school and the start of going to an all girls private school. Since that incident, every time she saw a spider it would remind her of that moment in 5th grade, and it made her stomach churn.

"M-maybe she's telling the truth.." Saren spoke up, crossing her arms, digging her nails into her skin slightly. It seemed like a far fetched story, but if she really was a lunatic like Nick had mentioned, Saren had a feeling that this was very much in the realm of possibility. "E-either way...it's still weird. Very weird." She had to admit though, the room was spotless. "I feel like I should leave...but..." She had came here on a mission, and she wasn't about to give up now. But everything was getting quite bizarre...what if they all teleported off somewhere at any moment???

Felix smiled as Lexi took a seat across from him, folding his napkin in his lap. "My gods! This is so delicious, Felix! Then again it has been a while since I had a home cooked meal. Before today I either ate takeout or go for business dinners." A chuckle rose out of him as a light blush spread across his face as she praised the meal. "It is nothing truly, I am glad you like it. It has been some time since I cooked for anyone else!"

Savoring a sip of the light, bubbly Chardonnay, Felix turned his head as Samson let out a small mew in protest as Joseph walked over to the table. "Looks good. But it'll be weird to have nothing to wash it down with. I'll get water, if you don't mind." Before Felix could react Joseph had gone to the kitchen to wash his hands quickly before filling up a glass of water. As Joseph sat back down at the table Felix gave an awkward laugh, seeing the discomfort on the other mans face. "I am so sorry, in my excitement to have guests over the water just slipped right out of my mind! I hope the food can make up some of the mistake."

"I gotcha homie!" Marco replied as he gave the girl in front of him a hard high-five, before turning back to the girl behind him and said with a mischievous grin, "So what where you sayin', Abigail?"

As he stood in line, tapping his foot as he anxiously waited for the line to move, Marco was accompanied by two other people; a flustered girl with fluffy orange hair and freckles who wore a white and yellow striped shirt and a pair of shorts, and a quiet boy with pale skin and dark grey hair who wore a dark blue sweater and a pair of black pants. Marco wore a sleeveless red sports shirt with the numbers "01" on the front and back of it, as well as a pair of blue shorts. His skin was dark tan, and along with his short black hair, he had green eyes and a vertical scar on the left-hand side of his lips.

"If you're going to live here, Marco, then you need to focus on finding a job as well." Abigail said, making her sentence much shorter and straight-to-the-point than it was before.

"Ugh, I know I know!" Marco groaned as he rolled his eyes, taking his attention off of the food menu, "I've been worrying about jobs this whole past week. Can I just have a night where I can just, oh I don't know, chillax for a day or two and get used to the fact that I'm now living in an apartment full of folks with enough money to buy yachts made of diamonds?"

"Well that's a bit of an overestimation, but getting a job should be your top priority." Abigail scolded, "Wouldn't be great to finally get a car of your own, so that you wont have to rely on Richard and me to drive you around anymore? Think of the possibilities!"

"The only possibilities that i'm lookin' at is either to get the Jumbo Turkey Wrap or their Pasta.... Ah screw it!" Marco smirked brightly as he snapped his fingers, "Italy all the way! Lets go with some good ol' Pasta!"

"
I think I'm ready too..." The pale boy softly said, looked up to his friends to join them. Although Abigail wanted to get back to the conversation, she decided to give in as she then sighed and said with a calm smile, "I'm also ready. Let just hope we get to order desk before Marco here dies from starvation."

"Ey, what can I say?" Marco playfully asked as he shrugged with a grin, "I'm like the multiverse theory when it comes to eating; I've got an endless appetite!"

Marco and Abigail began to chuckle as they stood in line, as the pale boy quietly looked over ahead at the girl whom Marco high-fived, before turning his gaze back to the floor.

The man behind Anastasia gave her a high five without giving her much notice. This made the awkward and embarrassing moment for her a little easier to deal with. She lowered her head, draping her hair over her flushed face as she stepped to the side, waiting for her order to be completed.

He thinks your stupid. Who asks for a high five in a lunch line?
Throw your food at him.
Tell him he's the stupid one.
He doesn't like you.
Her food was ready, so she grabbed it as Jarde spoke to her. She looked back to the man she high-fived, wondering if it were true. It was a pretty dumb thing to do. Anastasia tried to ignore it as she searched for an empty seat. It wasn't super busy right now, so there was a nice corner table with cushioned benched to sit on.

She sat down to enjoy her meal, watching the man from before as Jarde schemed against him. As she ate, she also took out a notebook she carried in her purse. The notebook was used for drawing, and had a dull orange cover, which matched her purse. She began to doodle as she ate, still watching the man from before.

Lexi enjoyed the company as they ate and talked, well mostly ate. Even after Lexi finished her meal, she stayed put as she continued to talk to the guys and enjoyed the wine. Once she took the last drop of her glass, Lexi sighed contently. "Seriously, Felix, you made an amazing meal," she complimented the young man just as Samson began to paw at her feet.

With a light cry from the small kitten, she looked down at the sleepy eyes that the animal was looking back.
"I think Samson is calling it quits on us gentlemen and I have several things to do tomorrow. Thank you, once again Felix for your hospitality and it was nice getting to meet you, Joseph. Samson and I will take the first leave."

Lexi picked up Samson and cuddled the animal before continuing,
"If you ever need a bottle of wine for a special occasion, don't hesitate to ask. I'll see you two around." Said her goodbye, Lexi exited the apartment and headed back to her's. Putting Samson down, she watched as the small kitten began to paw his way to the bedroom where his small bed was located.

Turning off all of the lights in the living room, Lexi retreated to the bathroom to wash up and into her bed. Normally sleep would come to her quickly, but this time she sat under her covers as she entertained herself with her laptop until sleep took her for the night. Tomorrow she was going to take the first step to her dreams.
