Thank God! I couldn't stand rping with IPS I hated it.

I'll admit my own RPing basically died out because I spend most of my time trying to shift through ll the bug reports and deal with it. Had it not been for all the issues we had on xF due to all the clutter, we would have stayed, we had nearly a good decade of stability, it just goes to show how how good it was, for how long it took to fall apart.

The staff hang out on a Discord Server we have and its mostly been us bitching about this update ever since we did it. No amount of testing and and trials we did, would have prepared us real world use and all the issues that would come because of it.

There will likely be changes of some kind, mostly on our end.  We'll try to keep them as minor as possible on your end. ^33^

ok. Last question (for now at least), will the members of RPN be briefed on all the expected changes nearer the date of the shutdown?

When we changed to HTML code with IPS, BBCode got screwed up. Will the reverse happen when this change is undergone, with HTML posts becoming unholy, eye-gouging messes worthy of dark lord Cthulhu himself?

Whatever that is, I don't like the sound of cookies.

On the old site, we didn't just have a "like" button on roleplay posts. You could rate posts several different ways, including "hype cookie" and "great scene". The feature disappeared with the August update when we switched servers.

We will have an announcement before and after as usual :)!

I think so?

But posts that still have BBCoding in them, should instantly come back to life.

lowkey kinda disappointed?? i liked using html.

but w/e, if bbcode is still available then cool i guess.

the majority of the site did prefer it after all.

gotta do what ya gotta do.

I'm sad to see this forum software go, but I'm glad to see XenForo coming back. Maybe this time next year, RPN will be running that sexy, sexy XF2!

I loved this so much.

As I posted earlier, that won't immediately come back. Our goal is to land on xF with a running start as xF2 is also right around the corner. Once that does and we are on the absolute latest version of the software which comes with new editors and functionality and a complete rework of the code (even xF1 for all of the updates it gets, is still a bit dated, so is IPS)

I'll be open to the change. People keep saying it's better, but I'll just have to wait and see for myself.

Wait, will notifications be fixed too?!?! :D

When does it shutdown to be changed?

For me it was down earlier, was that part of it?

DWiz said that it will be later this month but the date will be specified in an announcement closer to the time. But I'll bet there will still be some tiny fixes on the site that may cause the site to be down more often than usual. I'm not an expert but I think roleplaying should mostly stay the same prior to the major update.

That is the plan.

Don't get me wrong, I like IPS on paper, for the most part in some ways its a better product then xF1 and the only chance we were going to get to try it was when xF1 was falling apart but like the title says, its time to go Back to Form.

Oh hey this just occurred to me

Will we still have the cover photo thing? And will our about me thing still be there/exist?

(I honestly don't understand technical jargon so half of the opening post was lost on me... >.> )
