"BREAKOUT" [In Progress]
"ISLE OF MAN-EATERS" [In Progress]

Mission Name: "Breakout"
Location: "Elstein Labs" - Germany
Player Types: [Kaiju]
Mission Prompt: Doctor Elstein, one of the major scientists aligned with the KDN, has recently captured four kaiju to use in his recent scientific endeavors. You are one of those individuals, having been experimented on for the past several weeks in utilizing your strength, abilities, and overall hardiness against a variety of tests. You've done so by wearing a prototype mass-production "grade" headset that would have you understand human language and take orders from the higher ups. These tests are already beginning to take their toll, being both monotonous and degradingly harder as of recent. Today, several investors are to meet with Elstein as to see for themselves the potential of this experimental headset, as you are given several more tasks to impress them. Surely nothing will go wrong on this very important day...
Number of Players: 4 - 5 max
Confirmed Players: Yonsisac Yonsisac , Mirai-chan Mirai-chan , Selee-01 Selee-01 , R U S T R U S T
[FULL]

Mission Name: "Final Exam"
Location: KDN WEST HQ - San Fransisco, CA
Player Types: [Mecha, Human]
Mission Prompt: After amassing through tons of paper-work and documents, you as a new recruit are finally heading to the second and final stage of your introductory exam. The KDN has arranged several captured kaiju to be transported to the base, where your job is to eliminate them by any means. Onboard personnel are ready to assist if the situation turns dire - from medical staff, repairmen, and the like."
Number of Players: Varies
Confirmed Players:

Mission Name: "Isle of Man-Eaters"
Location: Isle of Man, UK
Player Types: [Human, Mobile-Class Mechs]
Mission Prompt: The Isle of Man, once a quiet locale of agricultural farmers, has been long abandoned since the early days of the Great War. Now a vast exotic forest - filled with giant redwood-sized pine trees and exotic boreal flora - it's inhabited by a myriad of Minor Kaiju. A KDN outpost had been established a decade on the south end of what was once called "Castletown" to study the area and the kaiju within. They have requested a research team and a small squad of men to assist them into traveling further north into the forest depths, where they have detected unusually high energy readings. Assist with their search and report back your findings."
Number of Players: Varies
Confirmed Players: Breadman Breadman , Twist Twist

Mission Name: "Salt Plain Detour"
Location: Bonneville State Park - Salt Lake City, Utah
Mission Prompt: All hands on deck! A herd of roughly 53 Gigantis kaiju - giant Tier-VII bipedal spiny sauropods - are making their annual migration from the south to their feeding grounds to the north, near Yellowstone National Park. Unfortunately, their route has deviated from Nevada into Utah earlier than expected and are estimated to pummel through Salt Lake City within 2 hours if they are not deterred. These giant kaiju are not to be trifled with, not only because of their immense size and bulk but also due to their long whip-like tails capable of cracking mechs in half through supersonic speeds. They are also a protected species, meaning that lethal force is strictly prohibited; any death by KDN hands will result in severe consequences. The herd are to be lead around surrounding city to the mark-off point past "Desert Peak", where they will eventually return to their regular route. This will not be an easy job, but it needs be done in haste! Good luck out there."
Player Types: [Mecha, Human, Allied 4rce Kaiju]
Number of Players: 4+

Mission Name: "Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Incident"
Location: Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant - Niigata Prefecture, Japan
Mission Prompt: Nuclear energy has long since been a controversial subject in the international sphere; especially with the rise of kaiju commonly targeting them in order to feast on the nuclear energy within. However, various measures had been put in place to deter kaiju from targeting them; whether it be onboard defense systems, electromagnetic disruptor fields, anti-sensory shields, and so forth. Advances in nuclear technology have allowed smaller, safer and transportable nuclear reactors to be put into services across the world; with the larger power plants being seen as obsolete despite seeing continuing service. Nonetheless, the recently remodeled and reoperating Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant's anti-sensory shielding has been rendered temporarily inoperable due to a suspicious overload - considered to have been caused by foul play. For the citizens of Kashiwazaki city and Kariwa village, this is terrible news. For the kaiju nearby, it's a ringing dinner bell. Time is of the essence for both parties. Will humanity have enough time and firepower to defend the power plant? Or will the kaiju gorge themselves and irradiate the region for generations to come?
Player Types: [Kaiju, Mecha, Human]
Number of Players: Variable

I could get in on the "Final Exam" mission in San Franciso. Jael could be delivering a truckload of components to the base, and once there she gets roped into being a mechanic on standby for any collateral damage that happens upon any of the recruits. Would be a great way to introduce her to any of the PCs that fit the bill of a New Recruit, as well.

I agree! A good way to socialize and introduce yourself, as well as even see combat (albeit "controlled").

I mean, at best she's a support character when it comes to combating Kaiju. Outside of that arena, she's open to a more diverse dynamic with the other player characters. But in terms of Kaiju/Mecha combat, there is only so much a low-level tech can do for the story. I'll be more than happy to add my posts as comments and observations from the peanut gallery, though. ;-)

Even the "little guys" can do "big things" in the right situations. We'll see what can be done.

Alright! We got one player for each mission so far; Anyone else want to hop into any which one? I'll update the mission roster accordingly.

Depending on the rates, these can be out by the start of the weekend at the earliest!

I can start working on an intro post tonight and will have it ready by the time you open up the thread. I will almost certainly need to modify it to fit with whatever the thread intro is expounding on. But I will most definitely have it ready to that end by the weekend.

We'll see if more mecha people get to join that one. I might switch you over to the Isle of Man-Eaters one if nobody else joins, or switch it to a 1x1 for this instance.

Which would be a bit weird, because I thought this would be a great intro for some player' big boy mechs (Light - Heavy + Support Class bots) and all~

*wink wink nudge nudge anyone else?*

Hmmm... not too sure I can work her into the Isle of Man setting. Having Jael driving the line from a factory somewhere in the United States over to San Franciso made sense. But I dunno how I'm going to keep in character and write her overseas in the UK. I mean, in the long game she could totally get tied up with a Mecha Pilot's crew and therefore follow them around wherever they got deployed. But as an intro, it only makes sense to start her off in the Continental US. I saw the Final Exam mission and it just fit really well with my general introductory concept. But... we can't force the other players to undertake something if they don't wanna.

We don't have to do the Isle of Man mission if you don't want to; it's just a suggestion. We can keep the Final Exam situation in this instance; but if no one else does pop up, we can do a 1x1 or facilitate an alternate mission that allows her to do something significant. I'm just giving out options.

Well, there's still plenty of time. Hopefully others will jump in on it. I can wait. Besides, I work weekends anyway. So, I'll be occupied at work for most of the day when/if you open up the missions. (One of the reasons I'm gonna write up the bulk of my post ahead of time)

Murdergurl Murdergurl I think your missing a point when it comes to Jael. Might just be me but I keep counting 24 points spent not 25...
I... tbh, I dunno. I kinda just went off of what Develius Develius had prompted for me. I tweaked it one way, then tweaked it back, and I don't remember if I tweaked it a third time before final submission. So, I may have lost a point in between all that. *shrugs*
Doesn't matter much to me. I'll take the point loss as her having a character flaw or something. Not all PCs are created equally, or something. lmao
I solve all my IC issues with narrative over stats, anyway.

But thank you for pointing it out. ;-)

I could've sworn we got that dealt with, huh. But yeah. Feel free to put another point into any stat you feel would suit her.

eh, sure. I just added it to her charisma. My reasoning being, yeah she's a bit selfish and brash. But she's still generally attractive. lmao

Mission Updates:

9IXWr9v.png
"Break-Out" currently has 3 players enrolled! If we can get 1 or 2 more players to participate, I shall consider it a full party! Will still go on even if no one else pops in, but nonetheless any kaiju characters are welcome!

13MAKFi.png
"Final Exam" has 1 player enrolled so far; any Small, Medium, Large, and Assault mechs and additional personnel are very much encouraged! Great for starting your character's story within the KDF, through a "Kaiju No. 8" inspired mission!

RxYyo1P.png
"Isle of Man Eaters" currently has 2 players enrolled - one mobile-mech and one human! More are very much welcome for those interested in venturing into a hostile kaiju-infested boreal jungle!

Even once they start going, new players may join them within the intro sequences; so don't worry about missing them once they go live!

Had to bump again, for the inclusion of 3 cool banners I made for the Missions currently available above ^!

Firelie Firelie R U S T R U S T KaigerGalaxy KaigerGalaxy - I've noticed you guys having voted in the Poll provided in the Interest Check about your potential characters. Still interested in joining the RP or going through these ideas?

Develius Develius I've edited my original post with a much more complete sheet for Frankenstein. I may make more edits in future but I'm pretty much happy with it as is.
