Note: I'd like to point out a few things first before moving forward with all this though.

- The antagonist will only be making a brief reveal, so please do not expect too much out of it. This is due to the fact I will need to make a whole CS for them, and it is only a temporary appearance so that I can flesh them out a bit more after the fact.

- If you'd like to make antagonistic characters, go for it! Just be sure to inform me that you are doing so.

- I will be writing up the lore for the Maidens possibly in the next couple of days due to some irl duties I must take care of first.

- Just because Maidens are now canon in the AU, does not mean they will be making an appearance immediately into the roleplay nor does it mean that any character will be able to play as a Maiden/become a Maiden immediately. This is for future reference and to know for later on down the road of the roleplay, also to keep the balance of power focused on the current moment. Because as for those who know, Maidens are ridiculously powerful.

So um, I'll try to make this an easy recap as best as I can. Hopefully I do not mess up anywhere or make a mistake somewhere. Lol.

- Round 2 with Poe L. Kuma has come and gone.

- Azul and Sophia are dealing with Turic after he killed a npc in the colosseum.

- Round 3 with Buc Irons has come and gone.

- Zaffre and Xander had a small convo than Zaffre went off and joined Azul and Sophia with the whole thing going on with Turic.

- Skathi just introduced herself to your character I believe and is telling your character to hold her weapon, if I'm not wrong?

- Round 4 with Hannah has come and gone.

- Round 5 with Ace has come and gone.

- Round 6 with Yzebella has come and gone.

- Round 7 with Itel has come and gone.

So...yes and no.
Even if one is an Aura Grimm, does not mean they have any of the full-on abilities of their respective Grimm in particular...Also, if there are any specific abilities one would have with their Grimm, the user cannot activate any of them without the use of their mask being presently on their face at the same time (No Aura Grimm should be able to just summon their mask willfully at this time). Even when the mask is worn, the user does not have control to be able to use their Grimm ability..if any...on their own nor should they be able to tell friend from foe. Their aura will also begin draining rapidly by the second.

In the case of the Hound Grimm. I'd bring up the fact that even as an Aura Grimm...one should not be able to summon nor control other Grimm since the character is still human/faunus in the end. The power to control or summon Grimm would require the subject to be nearly all Grimm since it would not make sense where the user is able to summon the Grimm from let alone how they are controlling other Grimm. The Hound Grimm however allows the user (with mask on) to be able to regenerate from severe wound such as an limb being twisted and fractured in multiple areas, however it does not mean they can regrow their limb since again..this is a Grimm...if one would regrow a limb..it would become Grimm-like, such as in the case of Xander and his Grimm arm.

Gonna try and get a post out BUT it is castlefest in my area, one of the biggest fantasy & folk fairs in the Netherlands. A lot of my mates are there and there will be mead.

Side note, Nellancholy to be clear Hannah's entire round was full of Clan heirs - Hochland is the culture and area, Clan is family/village. You're right her clan gains significant political clout due to her victory but that's mostly in internal clan politics.

They're asserting the amount of resources and military force they have in the face of mainland Atlas,since Atlas itself has been weakened considerably.

Or is that how they always do things,regardless of international circumstance?

Short answer this is a political move.

Slightly longer answer, individual clanners showed up for the Vytall Tournament pretty much the millisecond registration opened for non-Huntsman. They love these sorts of competitions and it is common to see young warriors trying to make a name for themselves signing up by the dozen.

However this show of unity is rare. Clans love to fight and if they don't have a common enemy they'll happily bicker among themselves. Insert the groundskeeper Willy 'Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!' skit here. So to see them come together like this is very much a political statement and a flex. On top of that, the clan participants of this tournament are all clan heirs, there are no rank and file participants. That is unprecedented.

It is a bit of a gamble, and they're suffering a bit of an egg on the face right now - Hannah is the sole clanner in the finals. Great for her clan, but a bit of a poor showing for the rest. You can make it a plot point if you want that someone rigged the pools so that most of the clan heirs fought each other - for me most of this is background set dressing.

EDIT: Also I just realised just how bad it will be for the clans if they lose people here. You're looking at the leadership and heirs of the largest and most powerful clans all packed into one section of the stadium. This day will live in infamy one way or the other.

It's time to start brainstorming a character and making a sheet. I expect it to take a little while, and I might look at some RWBY stuff to better understand how Dust and the aura stuff works too.

Hah, I may skip the next round and head straight into the final round since we do not have any actual player-controlled characters for round 8 and I just feel like it'd be for nothing if I wrote it out lmao. At least the final round has everyone who was part of the tournament.

That's comforting, though it's more so just thinking of what works in the setting. I'm not sure of the technology level/culture of this AU, it's a lot harder to think of a fitting character. I do have a faceclaim and have an idea of personality, just lost on where to take it.

From what I have seen, its pretty much anywhere from middle ages to modern day/slightly post modern. Just throw high fantasy into it and that's the idea of what is encompassed. I mean there is a girl with a tank so you have plenty of wiggle room

It's the same as the actual show so generally modern day but with additional robots and mechs and weaponry is based mostly around melee weapons that tend to use tech to collapse into oddly small packages to carry and are also guns rather than pure firearms.

The level of technology is as Tarot/IG42 has stated. It is a bit of a post-modern.
Many people whether they are huntsmen/huntresses or even civilians have melee weapons that range far back in the day like broadswords, shield and sword, spears, etc. Although if the person is wise enough to know how to make their own weapon, they can craft their weapon to have 1 to 2 different variations inside it. (ex: a pair of gauntlets that have like shotgun properties to allow for shooting)

Each kingdom has different levels of technology..Atlas being the highest level of it since they have the largest military force; giving them access to airships, and a variety of all different stuff.

Same goes with culture, each kingdom's culture is different.
