Just as an FYI, if you take the Beta to round out the squad, I will allow you to pick any of the races out there (Spherian, Garudan, Zentraedi, Paraxian, and the Karbarrans). If you go with the Bearman, you cannot pilot an Alpha because they are too small, but I'll let you squeeze into the Beta. Also, the Cyclone is off limits to you, but you can get a Silverback in the Beta's bomb bay and fit into that. The other races don't have a problem fitting into the mecha.

Welcome, WlfSamurai WlfSamurai ! Nice to have you with us.

Just to let you know, my character is a Alpha pilot, Jaydude is a Beta pilot, and Rykon is an Alpha pilot. We need another Beta in the mix.
Perfect! I was leaning Beta Pilot. I’m not sure about alien or not. Still thinking on that one…

If you want any of the aliens, I'll have to share their details with you, since they are in the UEEF Marines book.

We are getting ready to make a move on the Karbarran homeworld; playing one of them would be a cool thing.

That will work out well. The squad has made friends with an important Karbarran, and he can pull some strings to get a bearman pilot in the team.

Use the ones listed in the RCC. On the stats that have the same dice base, you can swap them around.

Also, with the 2d6+ stats, if you roll a 11 or 12, you get the extra d6.

Since the rest of the group gets a free '24', you can get a free '18' on one of your 2d6 stats, or the 24 on your 3d6 stat.

So this is going to be a dumb question, but I've never made an alien before. Is it that I choose the R.C.C. instead of choosing an O.C.C.? Or, if I'm just using the base R.C.C., I get to choose an actual O.C.C.?

It would be either the RCC of the Karbarran, or pick an OCC, not both.

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai Have you come up with an idea of what you are going to play? Either the Karbarran Combat Laborer RCC or one of the UEEF OCCs?

I think that either one would work. The Karbarran RCC has a nice bunch of technical skills to it, and with the OCC Related and Other skills, you will be able to get Pilot Veritech, Pilot Ground Veritech, and MECT Beta.

Good news everyone. I have begun chatting with Random Word about also joining us, and hopefully he will like what he sees in the game and decide to game with us here.

So Sherwood asked if I'd like to join this game, and I, knowing absolutely nothing about the setting, asked what kinds of characters exist. Apparently there's a whole planet of Space Amazons. I get to be an ancient Greek hero hilariously confused by modern technology and the concept of gender, so I'm sold. "The masters of arms told me I cannot fight the Invid with spear in hand, so I demanded they find for me an ancient and storied weapon of legend suitable to the task. They attempted to protest, but I would accept nothing less. They eventually relented, discussed how to find such a weapon, and promised me the most ancient and storied weapon in their vaults: a Valkyrie. I have asked the oracular voice in the wall about these Valkyries, and was both perplexed to learn they are warriors, and pleased to learn they are quite skilled with sword and spear. If they believe this Valkyrie will wield my spear better than I, I will gladly prove them wrong!"

So let's see how trash my stats rolls will be. Five sets of 3d6k2 and three sets of 4d6k3, all re-rolling 1's, exploding on 11+ or 16+. Whew.

I presume I have to put the 24 in a 3d6 stat and not a 2d6 stat, since the 2d6 stats usually have huge flat bonuses? Or maybe it becomes an 18 instead of a 24 if I put it in a 2d6 slot?

So for the 3d6 stats:
6+5+5+exploded 3 = 19
6+5+4 = 15
4+3+3 = 10

For the 2d6 stats:
6+6+exploded 5 = 17
6+4 = 10
6+4 = 10
6+3 = 9
6+6+exploded 6+exploded 6 = 24 - not bad on a 2d6

So, uh, what happens if you have a stat go over 30?

PE+8+9 HP
22+4+6+4=36 SDC
6'6"

One suggestion for your skills: No matter which character class you pick, make sure you select Boxing. That one is almost a mandatory skill for how useful it is.

This was what was really throwing me for a loop. I think I want to do a UEEF OCC, but the general Karbarran stats were labeled as the RCC as well. So, I think I have it ironed out.

Yeah, looking at it now, that’s a good point. I think I’ll go with it.

Is “Hand-to-hand Expert” decent enough, do you think? I have to look at what I get from that as I don’t remember off the top of my head…

Okay. Going to do rolls here.

Iq: 2d6+5 = 12
Me: 2d6+5 = 12
Ma: 2d6+9 = 16
Ps: 3d6+14 = 25 (Augmented)
Pp: 18+3 = 21
Pe: 2d6+12 = 19
Pb: 10
Spd: 2d6+3 = 16

HP: 19 +6d6 = 34 (for level 3)

SDC: 3D4x10 = 70

Expert is not the highest tier of Martial Arts training available, but depending on what OCC you pick, you may not have enough skills to buy it up yet. It starts you out with 4 attacks per melee round, which is not insignificant. If you take one of the UEEF OCCs, you will have extra skills to be able to get the upgrades available.

On a side note, if you have the skills for it, don't forget to get Boxing. It adds an extra attack/action per melee round to your character.
