Unfortunately for the (apparently) ice-type operative, both of his opponents were actually resistant to ice-type moves. Heck, the trainer he was up against is even an ice-type herself. The duo shrugged his Blizzard aside and kept pressing on. Kurama followed up his previous Will-O-Wisp with a Flamethrower directed straight to the Blizzard's source. Sherry however, tried to aim at the operative guy using Lock-On as she formed an icy fist on her hand -- all done in a safe distance away from Kurama's Flamethrower.

The Steel Type man laughed at the Swift Stars aimed at his body. His fists were coated in steel once more, and he threw punch after punch at the pink stars crushing them one by one, all the while advancing closer to the Fairy Type nuisance. Once he was upon him, he aimed a hammer fist at the man's head gripping both hands in the air and swinging them downward. If he missed, the attack would surely create a small crater in the cave floor.

While Jackie spoke, the trainer of the Gyarados closed his eyes. He started to have a look of annoyance, and then anger, and then rage with a vein that looked about to burst enlarging on his forehead.

"Why, you insolent CHILD!" He said, thrusting out his hand in front of him towards the Dark Type. With the motion a large column of water rushed from the lake behind him and past his form. It came at Jackie and Scrafty with the force of an tidal wave, interrupting the attack Scarfty was ordered to execute, Surely a Hydro Pump commanded by a master of his type. Needing no commands, his Gyarados also blasted forth the same move, water spewing directly from it's mouth. The combined attack was much too fast and wide for either pokemon or trainer to avoid, and it carried them until they both slammed into the cave wall behind the duo. It held them there for a moment with continuous pressure, before the water faded, and there was a look of satisfaction upon the aged man's face. "Surely now you realize you're outmatched, why don't you gather your friends and go home?"

"He's a lot tougher than he looks, Valetti. I wouldn't count him out yet," Said Chance, who had just activated all of his speed abilities and was crackling with electricity out of his eyes and over every part of his body, standing right behind the water type man. Garchomp had to take the long way around, and hadn't quite joined them yet, but was moving as fast as he could given the battles that were happening on the outskirts of the lake. Before Valetti could reply, Chance landed a solid hit to his jaw with Plasma Fists active, which sent the man reeling to the ground. His partner Gyarados then roared angrily and aimed a hydro pump at Chance, whom flashed out of sight and back into it next to Jackie and Scrafty. He held out a hand to help him up. "You're going to need to be more careful, that man isn't any normal trainer. He's Elite Four, Valetti Morgan,"

Twist Twist

The dark type user attempted to catch Ryuko's follow up attack, caught off guard that the woman had such Aerial Grace. Her dragon claw ripped straight through the man's Dark Void, but dispelled them both. This left him open to the Charizard's electric punch to sock him straight in the gut. He doubled over, and electricity swept over his body. He went stiff, unable to react after being rendered paralyzed from the voltage of the strike.

The flame thrower engulfed the ice type, and if not for his activation of Sheer Cold, he surely would have been KO'd in one hit. The Sheer Cold cut through the fiery column of flame, barely cutting the damage in half with the layer of ice he had formed around his body. Then, without time to react, Sherry's ice punch connected with his face and he flew into the cave wall like a rag doll. He seemed very caught off guard by the whole affair. He looked back to his dark type compatriot, and yelled for him.

"BENNY! SWITCH ME!" But the attempt was futile, as the other man had just been paralyzed by Ryuko's Charizard. He huffed and readied himself for another assault, once again sending forth a blizzard at Sherry to throw off whatever her next attack might be.

The swifts were sent out but apparently didn't do anything to this guy except maybe annoy him. Andy seeing the guy easily deflect said stars away like gnats while warming up his fists to slam into the ground was a bit of a sight but not something he didn't have an idea for. While he does that, however, Andy looks to Aqua and points to the ground, "Bulldoze when he smashes the ground " he whispers while watching this guy advance menacingly to them, to have both dodge in opposite directions just as he is about to slam the ground. Aqua slamming the ground with a bulldoze of her own and Andy throwing down a spirit break in the form of a clenched fist onto this guys head

As the ice-type man was flung to the cave wall, Sherry gave a light chuckle which quickly evolved into a hearty laugh. "Just what type do you think I am?" she mused in the midst of her laughter. I mean, did she just pick up a lesson of mockery from Jackie or something? But then again, she had been mistaken as some other types all the time to the point of randomly expecting it. In this case, it would be most likely the fighting-type due to her current battling style. It really was as she had told Ryuko back at the gym:
As soon as she calmed herself, Sherry basically stated a fun fact: "I may not look like it, but I'm actually an ice-type." While she was often mistaken as fire-type, some people also mistook her as either fighting-type or even steel-type.

And then the man readied his Blizzard once again. Seems like he was expecting some sort of projectile attacks to come his way. However, both Sherry and Kurama had other ideas. Instead of launching their Freeze-Dry and Flamethrower at him, the two "invaders" to the poachers' work decided to brave the cold with Kurama's Flamethrower like how Cinder used his own Flamethrower to propel himself back when Kurama readied his first Will-O-Wisp. The Ninetales let his trainer ride on his body backwards (as in Sherry facing to his tails/butt), then launched himself with Flamethrower at his full power to propel themselves straight to the Blizzard's source. And as soon as they arrived, Sherry hopped off from her Ninetales' back while readying her Triple Axel, leaving him to (hopefully) land butt-first on their opponent. If Sherry's Triple Axel connects, one of the kicks would be aimed at the operative's groin.

The opponent, paralyzed from Charizard's thunder punch gave Ryuko an opening, as her right arm got enveloped by the same blue energy, but instead of manifesting into a claw, she closed her fist and threw it at the opperative, before the punch became that of a winged wyvern, the same exact move she used to save Cubone earlier.
Charizard flew back and charged up a fire blast, ready to fire in case the enemy had dodged the impact of Ryuko's Dragon Rush.

Jackie snorted in minor amusement at Chance's outstretched hand, his offer of aid being given to the arm with the bruised shoulder, making it annoying to lift. The Dark type waved the Galar born Gym Leader off with his good arm, sliding his back up against the wall he just smashed into as he pushed himself up off the ground using his legs. Scrafty had followed suite and was using his loose skin like a towel to wipe himself down. "Elite Four eh?" He looked at Valetti "I guess if you live long enough your bound to get promoted right?"

He looked back at Chance, one side of his lips creasing into a half smile "Don't worry about me mate. Trying to win against against ol' Jackie means his odds are just like you. No Chance"

The spiky haired smart-aleck turned to his reasonably dried off Pokémon, it's knees bent slightly as it stood, ready for orders. "Scrafty, Sand Attack."
Spr_5b_560.png

The Hoodlum Pokémon spun his head around slightly before glaring at Valetti. "Scrafty!" was his response as the dashing Dual Type rushed towards the recovering Morgan, his hand disappearing into his slacks like skin akin to a gangsta reaching for his piece. However this gangsta didn't just pull out one piece, he pulled out multiple, the pieces of glass from the fish tank mixing with the gritty sand, now more like mud thanks to Valetti's own Hydro Pump, in Scrafty's clenched fist. The mock Mud-Slap was thrown at the Water Type's face, a look of delight on Scrafty's face as he did so.

Without waiting Jackie had quickly followed shouting his threats for all to hear "Here I come old man! No ones gonna stop me from kicking your ass! Not even your loyal Gyarados!"

With his fist surrounded by murky darkness, he closed in towards the Elite elder and readied his attack. But Valetti wasn't the target, the glass jawed geezer was reeling from just one punch, after all. No this was a Feint Attack. At the last possible second, the long coated loudmouth planned to break away and nail the Flying type familiar when it came to aid its blind master, if Morgan took the bait. Timed right, there would be a washed up wrinkler and a plastered Pokémon.

A wave of shrapnel and earth caused by Aqua's bulldoze washed over the steel type. If not for his naturally sturdy demeanor he surely would have been knocked out right then and there. He crossed his arms over his face to protect from it, and activated the bullet punch which coated his fists in metal. This effect took hold just in time to protect him from the follow up attack he had anticipated, Andy's spirit break. The moves collided, and as the did without wasting any time the man opened his mouth again. Flash Canon erupted forth from it, engulfing Andy this time and slamming him into the cave wall. This caused the man to have to turn his back on the Azumarrill, never a good move for any battler.

mdebourg mdebourg

Cutting straight through the feeble blizzard, Kurama and Sherry advanced upon him fast enough to make his head spin. The operative barely dodged to his right, the blizzard slowing their advance just enough to allow the movement. Kurama took a slight amount of damage from colliding to the wall, but not nearly enough to change the tide of battle. Then, at point blank range, Sherry kicked the man in the head once, the chest the second time, and for the kill shot she connected with his most private parts to send him to his knees, gripping his crotch. He was down for the count, and only needed to be finished off at this point. One could tell only by the look on his face.

The man had no time to dodge while recovering from his paralysis, and the Dragon Trainer Ryuko let her fury be known upon his gut. He flew backwards from the strike, and plummeted into the underground late. A moment later he emerged from it, rocketing out at blinding speed only to be impacted by a fire blast from Charizard. He continued through the hit to land back on the dry (ish) stone floor. His eyes began to glow with black aura, and his entire body was coated in a Dark energy. He then charged Ryuko again, aiming several jabs at her in quick succession and advancing mercilessly, seemingly without regard for his own safety.

"Alright tough guy," Laughed Chance at Jackie's shrugging off the help. Valetti Morgan yelled in pain as he got wet sand and glass shards flung in his face. He could barely see the blurry outline of Jackie charging at him, and covered his head with his arms in a defensive pose like a boxer in preparation. When the blow didn't land, however, he was incredibly confused. Wiping his face and clearing his vision, he was just in time to see the surprised look on Gyarados' face as he took the dark type's move right on the chin. Valetti yelled out a cry of rage, and just as he was about to pursue, chance grabbed him by the arm and lifted him over his hips for a textbook judo-hip toss. When the man hit the ground with a wet thud, Chance began pummeling him in the face in a brutal display of speedy jabs over and over. All powered up by Plasma Fists. "What was it Sabrina said, when I last saw you two? Mercy is for the weak?"

Meanwhile, Gyarados' neck curved and whipped back in Jackie's direction like a pulled back tree branch, and the water type clamped onto the lower half of his body before he could fall back to earth. Then, he descended immediately below the surface of the lake. No special moves were required to drown a Dark Type, after all.

"I believe that is what I said, yes," Said a haunting, sad voice from behind Chance where he knelt over Valetti. It caused the confident and strong Gym Leader to shudder, and tense up halting his assault. Then, two haunter grabbed him by either arm emerging seemingly from thin air. Out of the darkness of the cave stepped a woman with long black hair that would have reached the floor had she not been hovering a few inches above it. Chance struggled to set himself free from the ghost types, but to no avail. The woman touched him on the forehead, and he fell asleep immediately. "Really, Chance, you didn't think we predicted you staging this pathetic revolt?" She spoke to his unconscious body. The next thing the woman turned to the psychic type whom had flung Cinder like a rag doll with her telekinesis. She nodded, and so did the psychic type operative. She put a finger to her own forehead, and the woman, Chance, and the Haunters holding him up all vanished in a pink flash of light. Valetti sat up, looking around and rubbing his head. His men were being pummeled left and right. The cause was clearly lost. He whistled, and Gyarados unhanded it's prey, leaving the Dark Type Jackie to swim nearly fifty meters to the surface while the long fish pokemon retreated much faster than any human. When he emerged, Valetti returned it to his pokeball and began walking casually out the Cave Andy had entered. All of his other enemies were preoccupied with fights, after all. In seconds he had disappeared into the cave system.

Ryumaru Ryuko

Ryuko had gotten struck in the face, but swiftly took several steps back to avoid the other punches. Charizard got behind the man and attempted to grab him by the arms to restrain him, as Ryuko brought a hand up to fire her dragon pulse, a beam of blue energy, at the man.

Cinder The Blazing Battler

Cinder would clench his fists and breathe a torrent of flame from his mouth like some peeved dragon, "DAMNIT" he roared with a surging fury that erupted from deep within his chest, "That psyhic bitch took my rematch from me!" Cinder completely ignoring the other trainers would whistle sharply and after a moment soared in Fafnir the battle scared Charizard with the remains of some stantler in it's jaws, Cinder began pacing around the cave for some kind of clue or speck of clothing....he couldn't care less for Johto as a region but he took his match with Chance seriously and he made a promise to incinerate that show off

Jackie's gambit had worked, his powerful punch rocking the Gyarados, his foe completely taken unaware by it with his huge head whipping backward. Unfortunately the headstrong Hyde actions came back to bite him, literally, the Atrocious Pokémon becoming the embodiment of the childish riposte "I'm rubber, you're glue." as it snapped back towards Jackie like a reptilian rubber band and biting deep into his waist.

Seeing his trainer under attack, Scrafty rushed towards the water but there was nothing he could do as within seconds they were both gone, with trainer and Pokémon alike vanishing into the depths. The Hoodlum Pokémon frantically began to search for some means to help his boorish boss, his outward appearance belying his nature.

Meanwhile the now fathomless Fur Coat wearer was mirroring his Pokémon in more than just type as he tried to figure out some means of escape, his punches doing little to dissuade the Gyarados and with all his Pokeballs being more like chew toys right now, he had few options and much less air.

But Davy Jones would not stuff Jackie into his locker like some nautical nerd today as the Atrocious Pokémon suddenly let go, heading towards the surface as if following some unseen command. With no time to spare the drowning Dark Type reached for his belt throwing the Ultra Ball that held Shiftry, his best chance of escape.
Spr_5b_560.png

The ball bobbed slowly in the water before erupting and releasing the Wicked Pokémon, who was completely unfazed by their current situation. Staring at Jackie with loathing eyes, the horrible Hyde could almost see the joy of his Pokémon as it watched him struggle, the Djinn like Dual Type enjoying his momentary freedom as he floated orderless and uncommandable in the wardenless waves lest his master drown.

His happiness was short lived as his now blue faced trainer began to go limp, his eyes closing. With freedom at hand, the satisfied Shiftry called on Nature's Power, bubbles appearing around as he focused. With a wave of his fan like hands he unleashed a Hydro Pump, the powerful pressure from the move sending him rocketing upwards.

As well as his passenger....

Knowing his Shiftry all to well he had feigned unconsciousness to get his Pokémon to leave, Jackie had quickly grabbed on to his Shiftry as he focused allowing him to hitch a ride out of the depths. Holding on as tight as he could, the spiky haired stowaway was still very much desperate for air though as they blasted skyward, Jackie was sure he could see something floating down towards them. Reflective pieces flaked off the item, almost like glass, which caught the little light that shone from the murky mud that encapsulated it. It almost looked like what the old man had been wearing deduced the Dark Type, reaching out towards it....

By the time Sherry had landed her finishing kick at the operative, Kurama gingerly stood up and turned to his trainer as if telling her that he's alright. And Sherry herself? She looked at the now-feeble man who had been expecting ranged attacks but ended up getting some frontal assaults instead.

"Whew, that was fun," the young lady mused as she formed a Present in her hand. She knelt at the man and gave him the gift with a weirdly sweet smile. The catch? This Present would explode in the receiver's face if opened. "Thanks for that, sir," she said before standing up and leaving the scene with her trusty Ninetales. Not without a rather sarcastic "Have a good day," from her, of course.

Looking around, Sherry could see a total mess at the underground lake. Judging from the looks of things, Ryuko and the Azumarill's trainer seemed to have no problems on their side. Jackie and Cinder, however, looked like they messed up big time. And Chance? He was nowhere to be seen. Lady Kaede... what should I do...?

When the dark type had been grabbed by the Charizard he thrashed a bit, but seeing as the being was much larger and stronger than your average human it was no use. As such, he had no choice but to take the beam of energy produced by the Dragon Type Trainer straight to the face. His body was blown apart by the point blank attack, and Charizard was splattered with a bit of gore. All that remained of him was the sash he had presumably had on his person, a Focus Sash. An item Ryuko might recognize as having the ability to prevent a potential KO by one turn, leaving the wearer with a small amount of health instead.

Cinder would not notice any remnants of the woman who abducted Chance, but would notice nearby a Fairy Type trainer and his Azumarril having a bit of a tough time dealing with the steel type operative whom worked under Valetti. He looked a little worse for ware, and a super effective attack from a fire type could certainly incapacitate him enough to stop the fight, and ask him some questions.

"Ah, um, thanks?" Said the Ice Type whom had just gotten over the pain in his groin. He pulled the bow to the present gingerly, and as the box popped open it exploded, taking his whole head with him. Along with the brain matter and bits of skull, sherry would notice a piece of jewelry skitter across the floor next to her feet after the blast. The item seemed to be a simple silver chain with a rough blue jewel as the pendant. Upon picking it up, Sherry would notice the jewel was cold to the touch, and was actually a chunk of Never Melt Ice. If anyone else had picked it up before her, it would have stuck to their skin like a tongue to a pole on a cold winter day.

Ryumaru Ryuko
Fatality

After the attack had landed, Ryuko did not account for the fact she could kill her opponent. She was thinking about knocking him out and asking him where he had come from after she had restrained him, but in this moment, when the opperative died, her eyes widened in horror, as Charizard had dropped the mutilated body to the ground, jaw opened with shock.

Ryuko fell to all fours, and shook frantically.
"This.... wasnt supposed to happen...."
She looked at her blood stained hands, shaking from the result.
"I wasn't wanting to kill him....."
Charizard sat down, with disbelief as well. He was horrified by what his trainer did, even if it was an accident.

While Sherry was trying to figure out what to do next...

BOOM!!!

The explosion drew her attention as well as Kurama's. The two turned to the source... which turned out to be the Present from before. Like Ryuko, Sherry looked at her foe's corpse in horror, for she didn't expect it to actually kill a person. All she had expected was for it to merely knock him out -- or at least shock him. To her credit though, she hadn't ever killed a person before, be it as Kaede or as Cherry.

"Milady, I-" Cherry's legs went numb as she sat at the ground, unable to finish her sentence. Her trusty Ninetales just stood there, widening his eyes in disbelief with a WTH look on his face. Seems like Cherry really could use a lesson or two on how to control her Present's damage in the first place.

With a splash rivalling that of a breaching Waillord, Jackie and Shiftry arrived back on the surface with the former looking almost like a rain cloud as he fell from the sky, his coat dripping vast volumes of water below. Performing a roll as he hit the ground, Jackie quickly removed the breathing apparatus from his face, dropping the equipment to the ground as he took a long deep breath of fresh air.

Scrafty had quickly come over to check on his trainer as his other Pokémon slowly descended from the air, his leave like hands acting as both propulsion and floatation devices as he came back down to earth. Pulling a piece of glass from his tongue and quickly discarding it, Jackie looked at his Hoodlum Pokémon "Cheers, mate"

The fore thoughted Fighting Type merely shrugged, bits of glass and mud still dripping from his hands as Hyde turned his head slightly. "Shiftry. Let's go"

Without waiting for acknowledgement, Jackie ran off, eager to return the scene of battle, Scrafty and his Wicked workmate alongside him.

Raising his hand towards the fairy and steel type trainers respectively, an orb of flame appeared in front of his palm pulsing with sheer energy ready to be unleashed and that glare of Cinder's showed he was happy to let it do so, "Both of you cut it out before I melt you into molten sludge" he growled, his eyes boring into the steel type most furiously. "The psychic hag didn't grab you on their exit which means, your gonna answer a few of my questions-" behind him came the ominous growl of Fafnir who's gore-soaked jaws signaled to the poor bastard what fate would welcome him if Cinder's demands weren't met.

While Cinder most likely wouldn't bother actually killing the weakened trainer, to do such would be a stain upon his honor as a fighter but neither the fairy or the metal punk knew that.

Across the lake from Ryuko and Sherry, Cinder was fully prepared to commit his own murder. The steel type hadn’t quite noticed he was being threatened when he picked up the fairy type trainer he was battling by the throat and, with an activation of bullet punch, crushed his throat with a metal grip. The trainer’s Azumarill shrieked in horror and scampered off into the darkness. Then, he realized the glow of his shadow against the wall denoted a light source nearly akin to plasma judging by it’s brightness. When he turned around, he was face to face with a fire type’s attack. The appearance of a huge spray of water which revealed the dark type trainer who had been battling Valetti officially made him realize his own situation.

the operative then scanned the rest of the cave. The death of his friends, and abandonment by his superiors, nearly made him want to cry. He’s be damned if he let the enemy know that, however. As such the steel type puffed out his chest and looked down the barrel, so to speak, of Cinder’s potential blast.

“and what questions would those be, then?”
