After this it was lunch. Earl elected to sit at the Hufflepuff table today. Both his and Emily's advanced skill levels had already got them famous around the school. Emily could hear Earl shout several times to be left alone. One person kept Pestering. (I'm changing the house of the bully to Ravenclaw)

A ravenclaw who wouldn't stop Pestering him. Not about his skills but rather his origins. "I'm warning you to leave me alone." Earl said. The ravenclaw, Thomas, just smirked. "How did you even find out where I'm from?" He asked. Instead of answering Thomas pestered him more. About his dead parents. And he took a lot of pleasure in teasing him about living amongst people who he will never be apart of. Earl took his wand and pointed it at Thomas. Thomas didn't seem troubled. "What? You going to stupefy me? You wouldn't use a combat spell on me." He said. "I not going to hurt you. Just humiliate you. Inpinguo." A small green light shot from the tip of his wand hitting Thomas.

Suddenly Thomas began to rapidly gain weight His arms, legs, neck, and torso all inflating as the fat content in his body grew. His clothes now two sizes too small were clinging against his body so tightly that most of his belly was visible and there was no way for him to take them off.

"Earl!" Someone snapped. It was Harry walking up to Earl. He didn't look angry just stern.
Emily sat across from Earl, quitly and properly eatting her lunch as she always did. As more and more people came over to them and sat down they were now farther from eachother. Emily would answer a question here and there but mainly stucked to nods and shaking of her head when asked something. She would look over towards Earl who had more students circling him as he shouted to be left alone. Emily lucked out and not a lot of classmates bothered her. That could be because of the face she held when eating of please don't dare bother me, or that she was a Slytherin. Although she was certain that it might have been her out burst towards that Gryffindor back in defense against the dark arts. Either way she was glad not to be pestered much.

Finishing her lunch her attention went back towards Earl as she noticed him confronting Ravenclaw boy. What had she missed? She watched as Earl cast a spell causing the boy to start to inflate, gainning weight all over his clothing became to small. Others around her started to chuckle and laugh as it happened. Only for the hall to become quite when Harry walked over to Earl yelling out his name.

Harry cast the counter curse. "Don't hex the other students. ten points from Hufflepuff." He said. Earl just turned back to his food. The other students stopped pestering Earl possibly fearing that they'd get the same fate if they pissed off the lad.

He waved his hand dismissively. "I'm used to it. Guess even in Hogwarts I'm unpleasant to be around."

"Thanks Em. That makes me feel loads better." He said sarcastically as he twirled his wand in his hands. "I shouldn't have let that git get to me." He said.
Emily held back a chuckle before getting up from her seat "think he just jealous your much better at magic then he is"

He sighed, "He made fun of me. About my parents. About where I live." He said.
"Oh.." she replied sitting back down this time facing away from the table. "Sorry he said hurtful things about you and your family" she added sincerely, altgough didn't know what else to say. She wasn't use to comforting others

"It's not your fault." He said. "It happens. Potions is next. I'm excited about this one."

Emily gave him a small smile she had always wanted to try out potions. Her mom was amazing at potions, so this should be super easy for her (She has no clue how wrong she is XD). "Guessing your great at potions as well?" She asked

"Potions is awesome. It's a lot like chemistry." He said. "Oh that's a muggle study. They put together elements from the earth that can cause all kinds of cool reactions."

"Really? Muggles can create potions as well?...I didnt know muggles were capable of doing that...." she said

"Muggles can do a lot of the things we can just in different ways. When push comes to shove we're stronger but their lives are better for having their technology that's why it was so important to my parents that I grew up among muggles."

Earl sure did see muggles in a different light. Way different then what she was told by her family. Although her parents had a great dislike of muggles, and she herself did as well for a short time. But the hate for them turned to curiosity when she found a book a few years back. "technology?...that's like magic right?....they build their magic into machines...to be able to use it like cars right.." she said (she had no clue what she is talking about, she had a very sheltered life. The book she found is like a picture book about inventions for like tiny kids, so the technology doesn't go that far maybe 1950's at most XD)

"They don't use magic. Their machines use something called electricity. They create it by harnessing the power of electrons in atoms and... and I lost you." He said as they walked towards potions.

Emily listens to him explain the Muggle technology but then he started to talk about electrons and atoms and she was completely lost. She looked at him and nodded "very lost..." she replied

"If you ever visit I'll let you look at my books. Though maybe I shouldn't your from a pretty famous family if muggle haters. I'd assume if they knew you were hanging with a filthy half-blood like me they'd be furious. Heheheh. Heheh. Heh..." He said. He looked down. His own joke bugged him.

"really? I would love to see all the muggle that I read about" she said thinking about her picture book but then it hit her he was right she could never go, she had forgotten. "oh right,..." she said looking at the ground as she rubbed her arm. He was right her father would be furious if he ever found out. But she would just never tell him about Earl of course. "I would never be allowed to visit, but no harm you telling me about the muggle world right?.." she said looking at him with a hopeful smile.

He looked at her. He smiled. A different smile. His smiles up till now were all sinister, or cynical, this one was genuine. "No. No I don't see any danger in it."

"oh wonderful," She noticed his smile, this one seems different, it made her smile. She was quite liking this friendship, he said they had.

Slughorn took roll and stopped at her name. He took particular interest in her immediately afterwards.

Emily looked at Slunghorn questionably. Figuring the interest might have been due to her mother, though that was her biggest guess (if need a name for her mom its Mildred, but liked to go by Milly)
