I'm interested. Will you be playing the adventure team characters? I was thinking about having a character who wanted to join them, or if you'd be okay with it, was a part of their teams, and could be a little tougher than the restrictions? If not, that's fine too.

I'll be playing my own character (Elliot) in addition to NPCs when appropriate. In fact, most people will be able to play the NPCs when interacting with them as long as you remain in character (Their personalities are in OOC, and being updated as we speak). You'll be able to join one of the adventure teams as long as you complete as small trial. I may try to implement a system to create your own teams, but I have my hands full right now.

Do you have to join an adventure team to get jobs from people?

Only if you want to work with them. You can try to find jobs in other places, such as the farm, the restaurant or even the places outside of town. Foraging for rare Items in places such as the mines or the forest is also an option.

Where in the CS do we put our Pokemon's ability? :o
Just like some PMD games, I've decided that the Pokemon should have all their abilities simultaneously, including HA. This means that Linoone, for example, has Pick Up, Gluttony and Quick feet at the same time.

I haven't played PMD since Gates to Infinity really. So do they get to choose when these abilities activate?

Say, I'm not a RPnation formatting expert, but is it possible to have multiple threads representing multiple locations for characters to be "inside" and create more of to represent new adventure locatons?

Depends on the ability. Intimidate would cause every Pokemon you meet to be more wary of you, and lower their Attack as well. Water Absorb still requires you to be hit by water or to be submerged. Illusion could in theory be triggered by the user's will. It's good to think of abilities like if they were genetic traits your Pokemon has.

What about Sand Stream, Snow Warning, and the like? I wanted to have an icy hail boye/qurll.

I wish I could properly answer this, but I've joined RPNation only a couple of weeks ago so I have very little idea how formatting works. 🙃

They would still require their respective weathers to be triggered I'm afraid.

Well, I see that people have made "OOC" threads for roleplays similarly to this, that exist independently of, but connected to a roleplay in progress. Perhaps you could ask a moderator if it's possible to do that, you're putting the work into making it already, might as well.

No I meant like the abilities that create a certain weather condition on field. Like Snow Warning summons hail, Drought summons harsh sunlight, etc. Would my mon be able to summon hail at will, or would it just always be hailing around them 24/7? Lol.

Oh alright, yeah I guess they'd fall under the activated at will category. Maybe... just don't spam them? I Might have to put a few restriction if they get out of hand.

I'll consider it, thanks for the suggestion. Right now I have to finish a few other things first. 😉

Maybe it could be similar to Mega Evo, and how it can only be done like 2 - 3 times a day.

I used to play a part in a app called "Groupie" that let you make threads-in-a-thread-in-a-thread, so, you would click on "Name's RP", see a description, then, underneath find individual threads titled "Office building", "City", etc, followed by people's posts in that area.

I actually worked on trying to replicate it inside of Discord, when I was designing a multifandom universe that took place through portals to eachother's "failed" gaming worlds from a hub world, where they would help eachother save worlds where they failed and the villains took over. I had one master world Discord server, with Discord threads called Portals that could be occupied and edited by someone who made an RP on another part of the app, linked it through the portal, so you could join my server, go to a portal thread, click the link, rp your character going through the portal, end up in the other "server", finish their story, and end up back in the hub world where you would wipe the door clean and put something else in.

Other people could join after finding out what you were doing there. It never got off the ground, but I really liked the idea of a intergalactic hub-world cafe, floating in space, full of characters from different universes that were chilled out watching distant galaxies through a window of the building.

I think your best shot of keeping a project like this together is give people easy ways in and out, so you can walk up on and enter it like a real town; People beginning their own groups and coming up with adventure ideas will be the lifeblood of this, while your laid out foundation can give them inspiration and something for other people to build on or add to.

Sorry for the multitude of questions, but I'm assuming we can only use TMs of the most recent gen? Like if a move was a TM in gen 7 but is now no longer, we can't consider it as a TM and use it for our TM/TR move? I'm also assuming this applies to tutor moves? Like if a move tutor could teach a certain move in gen 5, but there isn't a tutor in gen 8 to teach the same move, then it's a no go?

Would Gallade also work as a move reminder too?

And would it be possible for Pokemon to be "born" into a higher stage besides their base stage? Like Falkner's Pidgeotto and Lance's Dragonite in the games.

Once again, sorry for the numerous questions. I just wanna get my character's moveset to be optimal lol.

Don't worry about the questions!
-TMs and TRs are from the latest gen, yes.
-Gallade does also work as a move reminder. He's the all move guy, pretty much
-Pokemon would need to be born at their lowest stage possible, this includes 'baby' Pokemon that requires incenses, such as Mime Jr and Azurill.

Thanks. One (hopefully) last question lol. When we start, will the newcomers and classics just be stepping into town for the first time? Or will they have been there for a little bit, but not as long as the townies? Or perhaps the classics will be waking up at where they were transported after becoming a Pokemon?

They will be stepping into town for the first time, so they will have a very limited knowledge. Townies are welcome to help them in this new town! The Kecleons will show them around as well

Will there be reasonable room for differentiation from the game mechanics, being that this is written and doesn't have Nintendo DS memory requirements holding mechanics back?
