ꕥ aoi and azure were the eldest, among three; the youngest being cassandra, their younger sister and unlike most, they were rather protective of each other.
ꕥ due to the circumstances of their childhood, they relied on one another. distrusting most adults and those around their age. it was engraved in their system due to the horrors they’d face.

ꕥ victoria evangeline was a manipulative woman, seeking power and doing any means to obtain it. she was dangerous as she was cunning.
ꕥ she “fell-in-love” with akio shimizu after discovering his witch heritage after relentless searching and what one would consider stalking, victoria would like to say she was observing them.
ꕥ victoria took on her sister’s persona who had died last year, manipulating akio into falling in love with her. in the end they were married with two boys on the way.
ꕥ aoi and azure were born twenty minutes apart. they were identical in every way from the black hair curtesy of victoria and the bluest eyes anyone has ever seen, reminding them of the ocean curtesy of akio. they looked more like their father despite their black hair, and victoria was furious.
ꕥ she wanted them to look like her, but victoria said little. offering no affection towards her newly born sons which only grew worse as they got older.
ꕥ victoria was ruthless once akio admitted to being a witch, more attuned to water than anything else.
ꕥ she would pit the twins against one another in hopes of one unlocking their abilities quicker, akio unaware of it all as he fell deathly ill ( victoria poisoning his tea which he drank every day before bed ).
ꕥ throughout their childhood was nothing but pain and misery, adapting to whatever situation victoria threw at them.
ꕥ aoi would take on most of the beatings, pulling the “ older twin ” card leaving azure furious. he’d be damned if he let his twin get beaten up and ended up taking most of the beatings and experiments victoria would conduct, hoping for some outcome.

ꕥ before long cassandra shimizu as born, looking more like their mother than their father. she was precious to them, victoria happy to have an offspring that looked like her. she took interest in her only daughter.
ꕥ cassandra was with akio and the twins in the nursery that akio had built despite his growing illness. victoria had stepped in, knife gleaming and stabbed akio in the back, killing him.
ꕥ cassandra was crying and in the amidst of wanting quiet, shook her daughter to death leaving the twins to deal with the mess as she sat in the dining room drinking wine and looking through akio’s things that he’d kept hidden.

ꕥ aoi and azure were traumatized, having only been twelve-years-old when it happened. victoria threatened to kill them if they dared mention it to anyone.
ꕥ azure had gone mute during his middle school years while aoi adopted on an aloof persona. majority of the people assuming he was cocky and overly confident which was the exact opposite.
ꕥ as the years went by, nothing changed. victoria continued to push her sons to the limit with cruel and unorthodox punishments in hopes of triggering their father’s heritage. never once did she tell them why she was doing it, and victoria had no intentions of telling them about their father.

ꕥ aoi kept quiet, finding safety in solitude until he was approached by another and things didn’t seem as gloomy as they did before. xiachang was his name with piercings and tattoos worming their way up his arms.
ꕥ aoi took solitude in xiachang who in return, gave aoi something he never had - a friend. he was his first friend, best friends even whenever aoi questioned and xiachang would laugh, promising to be with him for as long as aoi wanted. aoi never wanted him to live.
ꕥ they were friends throughout the remaining of middle school, and their first year of high school.
ꕥ aoi and xiachang began to date nearing their first year, and aoi couldn’t have been happier with mason’s unwavering support for the man despite his own romantic life in flames.
ꕥ despite his homelife, aoi couldn’t have been happier. xiachang gave aoi a promise ring nearing the end of their second year. a promise to marry him when they were older and aoi cherished it with everything he had.

ꕥ nearing his junior year of high school, victoria discovered he had been dating and she wasn’t happy.
ꕥ during one of their nightly dates close to the ocean, one of aoi’s favorite spots to sit and think, getting lost in the familiar sounds and feeling at home. but as aoi waited, azure showed up looking crestfallen. xiachang was dead and that sentence alone shattered aoi.
ꕥ the male closed in on himself as he sobbed into azure’s chest, finding comfort in his twin’s scarred embrace. his happiness was gone, taken away without a goodbye.

ꕥ xiachang had been confronted by victoria, killing the man in blinding rage after finding out her son had pledged himself to the tattooed male. azure had been heading home after a rather nasty confrontation with his ex-girlfriend, stumbling upon the two.
ꕥ azure was able to grab a few of xiachang’s personal belongings which included a promise ring and the black leather jacket.
ꕥ something strange happened that night. something that couldn’t be explained, but aoi was two wrapped up in his emotions to care while azure’s brows furrowed, but scratched it off as nothing.

ꕥ aoi became reserved and distant from those around him, only seeking comfort from his brother, but even then, it depended.
ꕥ aoi lost what little he had left, the only thing that keeps him going is his younger twin, and without him, aoi is sure to crumble.

collection of gashes ( variety of lengths and widths ) scattered across his backside. often in a disorganized pattern, crisscrossed across his back that are both vertical and horizontal. some are more " puffy " than others, while others are nothing more than discolored scars. often times can cause great amounts of pain, almost as if he can still feel the pain and trauma he went through. although nothing compared to his brother, aoi carries a series of disorganized and shallow cuts along his backside, followed by a rather nasty looking scar in the shape of an x that's smack dab in the center of his back. there are a few scars that are thick in width along his front, although not nearly intense as his backside. something that azure and him share are two identical scars; the word " bastard child " along the lengths of his spine as well as the word " monster " etched into his skin just on the left side, where his heart lays curtesy of victoria. there are a few scars scattered along his forearm, some in odd shapes and others in a crisscross pattern wrapping around his biceps, along aoi wears white bandage, encasing the more obvious scars during school and work hours, having no energy for questions that are sure to be asked. later on, aoi will loose his left forearm, leaving his elbow and bicep intact.

  Enola is your classic, fiery, hot-headed rebel who takes no shit, no game, to people saying otherwise. To most people, she comes off as the “golden girl”, straight As, straight teeth, straight sexuality, head of the student council. Captain of the cheer, girls’ basketball, and girls’ swim/diving. The perfect student. And she hates it. Every second of it. Enola is someone who has, but also longs for, independence and freedom. She loves/longs to be self-sufficient, and having just gotten accepted into Harvard absolutely made her ecstatic. She’s a “strong” woman, but she does indeed have the limits on her mental state. She’s prone to anxiety and panic attacks, and oftentimes tries to hide them from others. Despite this, Enola is mostly a loner, more of an ambivert than an introvert, but doesn’t really call the people she hangs out with her “friends”.
  
  While I may call her the “golden girl”, Enola’s hot-headedness probably will end up being the death of her. She’s very physically strong, as you can expect for someone with that many extracurriculars, and will attack you if you offend her. She’s very aggressive, and not afraid to show it. So…lesson learned: try not to piss her off. Though, she may not always fight someone if she knows she can outsnark them. She’s very much a deadpan snarker, and contrary to popular belief, has her way with words. Maybe this is why she’s able to challenge the leader so many times and get away with it. Because she loves challenging people’s decisions for the hell of it, she often gets on people’s bad sides. But she doesn’t care. She’s a free spirit. HISTORY:
Violet was born on a rainy mid-October night in the small town called Mystic Cove. Her parents were relatively successful shop owners and had tried to have a child for years before Violet 'came along'. Rodric and Gwen Caraway were caring parents that loved to travel and explore the unknown. So when Violet showed the same interests the family started going on many family trips to nearby towns and other interesting places.

When Violet was seven years old the family went on one of their trips to a place not too far from Mystic Cove. It had been another small coastal town rumored to be haunted by a pirate ghost. Of course, it turned out to have been nothing but a story. It didn't stop the Caraway family from having fun trough. They explored the beach, played chase with a happy little Violet and ate ice cream till they couldn't eat anymore.

On the day before they were supposed to leave Violet's mother heard about a cave, the townspeople avoided like the plague because it was supposedly full of evil spirits. At the time Violet didn't know about her family's secret, that they were witches, and so didn't understand her mother's fascination with ghost stories and local legends. She also didn't know that all those trips were so her parents could both have fun as well as look for the coven's legendary book of shadows and awaken the powers that were locked away inside them.

Some may say it was irresponsible to leave young Violet with the owner of the inn they had been staying in and leave to explore the mysterious cave but Violet's parents couldn't have known that Violet would feel left out and would sneak out after her parents. She followed them to the cave and inside. As they went deeper and deeper Violet became increasingly scared and revealed her presence to her parents. They tried to return but just as they were about to leave Violet's mother noticed the small river on the side of the cave was bigger than it had been when they first entered.

The family quickly tried to leave but halfway out of the cave the passage collapsed. Violet was frozen in fear as her parents tried desperately to remove the stones in their path so they could climb out. By the time they removed enough of the stones for small Violet to climb out the water was already reaching the parent's hips. Knowing they wouldn't make it they sent Violet 'to get help' and resigned themselves to their fate.

Violet was traumatized by the events that caused her to become an orphan but her aunt Melissa who had taken her in took such good care of her and loved her greatly that Violet developed into a happy young woman with a few flaws but a strong spirit.

ꕥ due to the circumstances of their childhood, they relied on one another. distrusting most adults and those around their age. it was engraved in their system due to the horrors they’d face.

ꕥ victoria evangeline was a manipulative woman, seeking power and doing any means to obtain it. she was dangerous as she was cunning.
ꕥ she “fell-in-love” with akio shimizu after discovering his witch heritage after relentless searching and what one would consider stalking, victoria would like to say she was observing them.
ꕥ victoria took on her sister’s persona who had died last year, manipulating akio into falling in love with her. in the end they were married with two boys on the way.
ꕥ aoi and azure were born twenty minutes apart. they were identical in every way from the black hair curtesy of victoria and the bluest eyes anyone has ever seen, reminding them of the ocean curtesy of akio. they looked more like their father despite their black hair, and victoria was furious.
ꕥ she wanted them to look like her, but victoria said little. offering no affection towards her newly born sons which only grew worse as they got older.
ꕥ victoria was ruthless once akio admitted to being a witch, more attuned to water than anything else.
ꕥ she would pit the twins against one another in hopes of one unlocking their abilities quicker, akio unaware of it all as he fell deathly ill ( victoria poisoning his tea which he drank every day before bed ).
ꕥ throughout their childhood was nothing but pain and misery, adapting to whatever situation victoria threw at them.
ꕥ aoi would take on most of the beatings, pulling the “ older twin ” card leaving azure furious. he’d be damned if he let his twin get beaten up and ended up taking most of the beatings and experiments victoria would conduct, hoping for some outcome.

ꕥ before long cassandra shimizu as born, looking more like their mother than their father. she was precious to them, victoria happy to have an offspring that looked like her. she took interest in her only daughter.
ꕥ cassandra was with akio and the twins in the nursery that akio had built despite his growing illness. victoria had stepped in, knife gleaming and stabbed akio in the back, killing him.
ꕥ cassandra was crying and in the amidst of wanting quiet, shook her daughter to death leaving the twins to deal with the mess as she sat in the dining room drinking wine and looking through akio’s things that he’d kept hidden.

ꕥ aoi and azure were traumatized, having only been twelve-years-old when it happened. victoria threatened to kill them if they dared mention it to anyone.
ꕥ azure had gone mute during his middle school years while aoi adopted on an aloof persona. majority of the people assuming he was cocky and overly confident which was the exact opposite.
ꕥ as the years went by, nothing changed. victoria continued to push her sons to the limit with cruel and unorthodox punishments in hopes of triggering their father’s heritage. never once did she tell them why she was doing it, and victoria had no intentions of telling them about their father.

ꕥ azure was lost. he wasn’t sure where he was supposed to go after everything. the guilt weighing heavily on his shoulders. aoi turned to solitude and mason turned to self-destruction.
ꕥ victoria had taken an interest in mason, assuming he would be the one to unlock his abilities ( oh how wrong she was ), not that she ever told him. he remained clueless, although he had a sneaky suspicion she was doing something and often confided in aoi about his theories.
ꕥ during his middle school years, chi had laid her sights on him. she was like victoria, in a way. but far more narcissistic and cruel. she wanted mason, and she’d down whatever it took to make him hers.
ꕥ they had started dating during their last year in middle school, after chi had threatened to harm his older twin. mason would do just about anything to keep aoi safe, even if its at the expensive of his own happiness.
ꕥ at the time his childhood friends; kavan dragomir, kaoru-ren hanabusa, keane valiente ( kazuya hayashi ), and kaede fujimori were hellbent on showing mason chi’s true colors. they didn’t really need to try. mason knew. he knew how cruel she was, but he couldn’t risk the chance of breaking it off. he could deal with the pain. it was no different than the pain at home.
ꕥ all through their last year of middle school and all through his first year of high school, mason remained with chi despite the abuse becoming a shell of what he once was. not that there was much to change. victoria made sure of that.

ꕥ the beginning of second year, chi moved away with no explanation. although mason found out later that kavan, keane, and kaede took matters into their own hands by black mailing the family. mason was angry at first, but it was brief.
ꕥ during his sophomore year, mason never once realized he had crushes on four of his closest friends, assuming that was how friends are around each other. it made sense. chi had been jealous of them at the time. resorting to threatening their lives if he hung out with them.
ꕥ mason wasn’t ready to date. not yet. his perception of love was screwed over, but that didn’t matter. as long as mason was happy. they were content although keane would often yell about dating him and kaede would often slap him upside the head when it did happen.

ꕥ nearing the summer of junior year, the group officially began to date as a polymorous relationship. keane was the certified loud gremlin, kavan was the charismatic idiot, kaede wasn’t sure what was happening, kaoru-ren couldn’t stop blushing, and mason wasn’t even sure how it happened. him ? out of everyone ? he still couldn’t wrap his head around it.
ꕥ their relationship was chaotic as ever. most people wouldn’t be surprised the five of them were dating one another. it was obvious. aoi couldn’t have been happier for mason.
ꕥ the polymours couple followed by aoi and xiachang would have small camping trips on the weekend on the beach, close to the water. it was fun. keane would cook with the help of xiachang and the others would enjoy the waves. it was paradise to them. who knew that would all change.

ꕥ kaoru-ren died shortly before xiachang, although not because of victoria. he was terminally ill and in the end died in his sleep. it shattered mason. something he truly cherished was gone, filtering through his fingers like fine sand.
ꕥ kavan was next. having protected his brothers from their abusive father, only to end up dying on the way to the hospital.
ꕥ losing two people he held dear destroyed him. he wouldn’t be able to survive if he lost either keane, kaede, or aoi. he truly wouldn’t.

ꕥ mason resorted to fighting. wanting nothing more than to get away from mystic cove. resorting to broken bones and busted knuckles. he was destroying himself. keane and kaede couldn’t do much but scold him and bandage him up.

ꕥ it was a few weeks after kavan’s death. it had been one of aoi’s nightly dates with xiachang, but what he saw would change everything. the one thing aoi cherished was gone. mason had just come home after running into chi who had returned to gather the rest of her things.
ꕥ xiachang was an orphan, which mason assumed was why victoria had lashed out without thinking. in the end, azure was able to grab a few of his things, tucking them into his side and rushing off to meet aoi.
ꕥ azure showed up, trying his best to do something. anything to cushion his twin’s emotions, but as he held aoi, his heart shattering at the loss of a friend and future brother-in-law. azure witnessed something that couldn’t be explained. he brushed it off as nothing, but that was the beginning of aoi’s powers awakening. whether the two realized that or not.

fun facts.

ꕥ entire diet consists of energy drinks and alcohol. he has yet to have a proper meal and hasn't bothered to deal with it, so crackers and whatever he can find in the back of the fridge, it is. he'll downright make others eat, but himself ? not so much.
