People who ditch you one to two posts into the role play. Like, it hasn't even truly started yet give it a chance! Ghosting too irks me off. Though, I may do it on a mistake by not hitting send 🤦‍♀️.

Forced, off the bat romances. Damn it let it happen naturally over the role play.

Always waning fluffy role plays. I like drama, ect. Life isn't all freaking fluff.

People being over spazzy with spelling and grammar. Not in school people! I would love my brain to be "normal" but it isn't gonna happen. I try my best here. 😑

"I have no time to role play" *sees them looking for new role plays even if I said I am ok waiting on replies*

I find it a little annoying when people take from certain cultures, closed ones especially, and don’t research probably. I’ve seen it in characters and some concepts, it makes me wonder if probably researching is too much for some. Especially when the rp or character ends up being offensive and they get defensive when it’s pointed out.

They're just being lazy. They don't want to even try to do a bit of research as to understand what not to do when making a character of a different culture. That and they don't care.

When you know what you want to write for your RP replies but you literally have not had the time or brain cells to sit down and write. 😤

I get beyond excited when someone messages me for roleplay, especially when it's something I have been craving. But, I find it hard to press forward with a partner who does not match my energy. Like they're not excited or thrilled, they're just kind of drab and give kind of bland responses when we're planning.

Impatient partners.

Seriously, unless we've established a posting schedule or you've outlined that you're looking for partners that can regularly put out faster replies, you should not be pestering me for responses if it's been under a week, much less a couple of days.

Sheesh. There's being excited for responses, and then there's just being obnoxious. This is a hobby, and as much as I love it, I've also got more important things to manage outside of it without wondering whether or not my partner is gonna be on the verge of an emotional breakdown because I took time away for a few days to deal with stuff and recover energy.

You're not alone there. I just recently had a partner chew me up and guilt trip me over this. I honestly think people need to be more understanding.

I think some people assume everyone has the same posting schedule as them. I very much avoid anyone that has a posting schedule of every day several times in a day too.

For me it depends. 1x1. I look for about twice a week. Any less and I lose interest. But I also mention my expectations in my interest check if I have them. Some I am every lax.

Groups are different. I try for a minimum of weekly. If you can’t commit, don’t join. I won’t be offended if you don’t.

What I will get annoyed at is a partner who is always slow, then complains if you are.

Well I mean I can't speak for everyone but I don't think when people join group roleplays they set out to not commit to them. I mean stuff does happen. Real life does happen. Are you supposed to put that on hold for some group roleplay? I don't think so.

Before anyone flags this post, let me be clear that I am not in any way advertising adult-oriented RP on this site. I respect the site's limits, and thus keep my requests on here non-adult. DO NOT PM me with inquiries about adult-oriented roleplay. (Actually, I think my PMs are closed anyway. So you can't PM me for any reason)

That being said, there is this weird limbo where I stand with a lot of the characters I make. I can't run them on sites like this because they are way too risqué and adult-oriented. But attempting to run them on adult sites doesn't really work out either because my intent is to include them in group RP. and Group RP on adult sites doesn't really happen. I've been on a lot of them, and one thing that is pretty universal is that their group sections are always deader than disco.

So I wind up in this grey area of non-participation. And it's kind of frustrating to never be able to get the kind of RPs I' looking for going.
Not here, not there. Not anywhere.

"I could not do it with the porn, I could not do it with the norm.
I could not do it here nor there. I could not do it anywhere!

I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam I am."

I honestly think that a lot of people aren't truthful to themselves about their own ability to commit to RPs. Everyone "wants" to RP. But when it comes down to actually doing it, a lot of people crap out real quick with the excuse of real-life intervening. I see it happen like clockwork. A group starts rolplaying, and two posts in and a player or two will suddenly have other commitments that will take them out of the RP. Every. Single. Time.

It's like, bruh... just be real with yourself and admit that you are a flake and can't commit.

Maybe someone doesn't want to do that, duh.
I only ever apply to Group RP on this site. So unless someone has a group they are inviting me to, it doesn't matter. I dont do 1x1's on non-adult sites

And if they want to invite me to the group. Just tag me in the group OOC.

simple

Well maybe you should try your hand at something other than groups. You say you don't want to host groups. You say nothing you've looked at holds your interest here, there, or anywhere. That sounds like it's time for some kind of change to me.

I mean it's life. What are people supposed to do? Prioritize roleplays over real life? Things pop up unexpectedly. People should just chill out.

I've been roleplaying for 25 years. Trust me, i've tried my hand at all kinds of roleplay dynamics. I know what I like and don't like by now. And I don't like 1x1s. And it's not that I don't WANT to host group RPs. It's that I don't really have the time or energy to do so anymore. I've become extremely jaded to GM groups, on top of that. Roleplayers are very fickle and lazy nowadays, and it's nigh impossible to get a cohesive group together. This notwithstanding finding people that are interested in the first place and also write more than six or seven sentences per post.

I'm not saying irl shouldn't come first. It definitely should take precedence over online roleplaying. What I'm saying is that (in my opinion) most of these people are probably just making up "irl emergencies" in order to get out of the roleplay commitment they no longer want to uphold. The timing is just too convenient, and happens too often

Aite, I gotta come clean, I've done this before. :'D

Like, in all seriousness, it's so easy to use "yeah, real life is a banger, right?" without real life actually getting in the way as a way to just skedaddle without actually saying a reason why, but it is a bit better than just ghosting (for my sake, because I feel really guilty just ghosting without saying I'm leaving first).

I will ghost if I get the red flags from the other person. Like serious red flags where there's no hope of talking anything out with them.

Yeah that.... that's a problem, lol. Of course, me being the glutton for punishment I am, I will talk about red flags with said person. If they get mad at me and put me on Ignore, that's fine, they have proven my point. XD And then I'll just leave after it's obvious I'll be leaving pffff.

I mean, I've done it once or twice (or more) myself over the years. So I see that shit coming a mile away. BUT at least I try to do it before the RP starts. that way I dont leave anyone hanging. It super fucking annoying when it's done after everyone is settled in and in the midst of the RP, getting their intros in and interacting their characters and such.... and then BOOM... Mr. "My-grandma-died-for-the-third-time-this-year" comes along and has a crisis that bums them out and has them "take a break from RP for a while".

I'm not saying I don't ghost, or that I haven't tried to weasel out of RPs. But when I do, i try to make it with as little of a footprint as possible. I will say that when I do attempt 1x1's, that I am almost guaranteed to drop them in one fashion or another. And that comes from me wanting something other than 1x1 dynamics. Hence... groups. But that circles back to the problems I already mentioned. Ad infinitum.
