Name and whether or not they officially call themselves that: WMR Corporation

How/When formed: Formed in 1941 during the start of the U.S intervention of ww2. It was originally was named Williams weapon industry or WWI (Ironic). The corporation started off as a small military manufactoring company that helped produce 3% of all weapons throughout the war. The profit the company gained was tremendous and thus they expanded and helped create more weapons for the future wars such as the korean war, vietnam war, cold war, and many more. By 1981 the company was one of the biggest rival companies in the U.S and in 5th place of major exports on weapons and also secretly selling bioweapons. In 1983 the company decided to go towards the medical department and had signed many contracts with the U.S army, EU, and China. Their corporation have constructed HQ's in Berlin, Richmond Virginia, Hong Kong, and Sacramento.

How survived this long/How currently functions (including safety, waste removal, getting food, etc): The company has their own private army along with the security force with it. When the zombie pandemic was first reported, the corporation sent in several research teams to extract samples across the world and having strict codes of who to bring and to shoot on sight. The corporations also have their own underground facilities that supply food, water, weapons, and other materials. Including the access to several military bases that they can raid but only if necessary. The bombings of the cities that the facilities are located are hard to find thanks to the rubble and only a few access points are actually intact. However the HQ in Hong Kong was lost do to the lack of leadership and chaos. Nonetheless the WMR corporations is so far known to be the only organized, disciplined, and most resourceful faction there is. Those that know of their existence are to be killed and hunted down, unless shown to be useful.

Group abilities/General Resources: Discipline, order, research, and organization keeps the corporation in check and alive. Having facilities underground and in heavily zombified cities. the corporation is practically safe from anything as long as no one screws up and regulation is followed.Food and water and other essentials are easy to make. However there are times when several scavenger groups are sent out to find more materials such as steel for example. Electricity is received by solar panels that are carefully placed in high buildings and guarded by a few soldiers. Oil luckily for them is actually easy to make thanks to having cooperated with another company in creating biofuel out of Algae (this is real). It was completed luckily in 2013 and immediately put to use within the private military. They have scientist that are at the work of finding a cure in Europe, however the U.S region is currently in the process of a experiment.

The corporation is also runned by a group of political and financial members who make the decisions. Sometimes they argue and sometimes they agree on the same idea or action to take.

U.S Region: 1,000 soldiers, 35 Humvee's, transport choppers, 25 attack choppers, 40 transport trucks, 3 battletanks, 1 experimental weapon (In progress), 50 scientist.

European Region: ??? (Lost contact, satellite lost and working on another way of communication)

Asian Region: ??? (Lost contact do to mysterious circumstances)

shapeimage_2.jpg

Group structure:

Group attitude towards meeting others: Hostile/cautious, does not cooperate with anyone and will take what they want depending on their assignment. However some survivors with certain skills that meet requirement are given a chance to join the group. However if shown any sign of treachery or infection will result in a immediate extermination. Children tho are accepted and are brought into the facility and kept safe but of course if they are showing the signs of being exterminated.

Location: Main HQ is in Richmond Virginia

The Traders of Ghale

How/When formed:

June 24th, 2018. Formed when Dorian Hesketh, the leader of the Sanctuary of Ghale, a monastery-turned-fortress, formed a coalition with the people of the town of Halifax, which was nearby, and the town of Marshfield, which was also nearby. The three towns are now in a coalition of traders, simply now called the Traders of Ghale, centering around the Sanctuary.

How survived this long/How currently functions (including safety, waste removal, getting food, etc):

The group scavenged extensively in the nearby city of Springfield, and also performed a large amount of conquest in the early months. Though after that, they have been extremely peaceful, making alliance with other nearby fortresses.

Group abilities/General Resources:

They are wonderful diplomats and traders, getting things from people. Far away people. They're like the Carthaginians, their trade routes the Silk Road. They have immense respect through the nearby communities, and a good amount of power from trading.

Group structure:

They have a Supreme Council, whom convene every morning and every night to discuss things, and they make decisions for the Coalition. Dorian Hesketh is considered the leader of this group, but has no other title than leader.

Group attitude towards meeting others:

They will normally try to ally with them, and trade with them, however are cautious and will usually show some kind of power every once and while in order to keep them in check.

Location (doesn't need to be exact - giving something like a state would be enough):

A group of suburban towns in Massachusetts.

List of characters (key characters if it's a large group), with age, brief summary of personality, abilities, what they did pre-apocalypse, and what their part is in the group (and notable facts if you wish):

Dorian Hesketh - Dorian is a very wise but can be a brutish man. He is manipulative, and despite being known as a kind, and gentle man to the public, he is about survival. He has little to no morals. His way of survival is just staying out of the way, and trading. He only goes to war if he must. He was a construction worker before all of this.

Name and whether or not they officially call themselves that

The High Church of St. Micheal

(Officially)

How/When formed

It is assumed that they started a year into the apocalypse, but hard to figure out since there is only one person who had come from them, and spoken of the elusive faction. It is also thought they were formed from a largely Catholic church that saw the Key West base as a utopia, full of Arks to survive the Rapture.

How survived this long/How currently functions (including safety, waste removal, getting food, etc)

The High Church has survived from looting and trade with small bandit groups, although all-out raids that are kept in secret have been done before, but only in times of need. Waste removal is adequate enough, as waste is shipped off in motorized boats then thrown into the Gulf. It isn't safety as it is Oppression, The Church is kept safe through show of force, (Parades in the Capital.) Threats, and public executions. Food is traded and taken as said before. A very high number of weapons is located in the capital, although most have been traded off for food, Serfs, and other things. Although Ammo is not traded, as it is needed for the small number of weapons they have.

Group abilities/General Resources

The Church uses soviet tactics, like regularized torture, propaganda and other things to win over opponents so physical bloodshed isn't needed.

The General resources are food and ammunition.

Group structure

There is a "Tree" of priests, it is highly impossible to be inducted into them, as most of them are co-founders and founders, who don't take newcomers lightly.

Group attitude towards meeting others

Very Hostile, although will not openly attack another faction.

Location (doesn't need to be exact - giving something like a state would be enough)

Naval Air Station Key West, is the maintained "Capital". But they are said to have small communities on the mainland, in specifically Southeast Texas.

List of characters (key characters if it's a large group), with age, brief summary of personality, abilities, what they did pre-apocalypse, and what their part is in the group (and notable facts if you wish)

They have at least a few hundred people living in the capital, it is unknown how many live in the communities.

Father Cameron

Age

Unknown

Personality

Father Cameron is manipulative and uses a false welcoming tone to direct his followers.

Abilities

Persuasive, and of course not to be trusted with that.

Pre-apocalypse

Father Cameron was a Catholic priest in Miami, with a radical view on sinners.

Part of the Group

The Highest Priest in the group, Basically the Unofficial Pope.

Father Tuck

Age

Unknown

Personality

Very corrupt, willing to crucify (Thought to be an execution technique for criminals.) Anyone who gets in the way of the High Church.

Abilities

The same as Father Cameron

Pre-Apocalypse

Father Tuck saw the apocalypse coming and tried to stage a raid on the military base, although as soon as the actual apocalypse hit and they were ready they only needed to finish off whoever was left.

Part of the group

Father Tuck is Father Cameron's right hand man.

Thank you for filling out the 'group structure part' (for some reason, everyone's ignoring that) but could you please fill in how they survived, and their general abilities and resources? Even if it isn't known to outsiders.

Your group seems interesting, and once you fill those in, I'll be happy to accept.

But I think Halifax is fairly far from Massachusetts. (That's fine, but your characters will need to travel further. From the map I looked at, the distance between them is as large as Kansas is long)

I think you're still a pretty close second for military. And I'm going to ask WMR to cut theirs back a bit, or at least add some flaws.

If you really want to expand your military, you can. But you'll need to add in some flaws, like bad organization, disobedience, difficulty finding food, etc. Or other things - just make it important to the story.

Also, if you're going back, could you fill in the 'group structure,' part? Most people didn't, so I let it slide, but if you're editing it anyway, I'd like you to do that.

yeah since im adding it would take huge amounts of oil, food, gas, water, etc.

changed it.. added a couple of things, just pm me if you want something edited.

Thst they don't have communications with the HQ In Europe and that the algae like substance for oil takes time to make so they have to be careful on how many vehicles they use. And they are hostile to most people they meet.

They're still near-invicible. Isn't it difficult to keep a military that large organized? Are there any worried about food running out? What about power outages?

It's a company that's made profit off of war. They built these facilities in case of a nuclear war. Also they don't have everything in one place there are smaller facilities spread across the U.S and equipment and such are distributed and such. Food is sustainable with the installed mini farms in the facilities. As long as there population is controlled they can eat with no worries as long as they are careful. They are very strict on everything also power I just stated with solar panels but if there isn't much light them they use up there algae oil but that means less mileage for the vehicles if needed to be sent out.

Are there any drawbacks from using facilities meant for a different type of disaster? Are there drawbacks from them being so old? Is there any overpopulation? Any rebellion?

If there aren't any issues, then there isn't conflict, and it isn't as fun to write and read. Certainly not as fun to role-play when someone is very OP.

Like I said in the original post in 'Main,' no all-powerful characters/societies. You can have an unbeatable military, but then you need to have some flaws in other areas.
