Fantasy 𝐖𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐝 (CLOSED)

The morning rises with a fatherly sun, the rays beam through the window of the lightless closet. You're on the floor trembling, covered in blood that doesn't belong to you, hyperventilating like you ran a marathon. Tears run down your face, clouding your vision, and you both relish and dread the feeling of warmth on your skin. This sensation alone is enough to remind you that you are still alive.. and you aren't sure if its a blessing or a curse. However, one thing is for certain..
You survived another night.

Welcome to the White Rabbit Orphanage where SPECIAL young boys and girls find their home withi...png
____________________________________________________________________________________________☽______________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________☽______________________________________________________________________________

The White Rabbit Orphanage is a strange unorthodox home for powerful children and teens who end up in between the never-ending forests of Peters' Island. The residents have scheduled life where they are constantly watched over and micromanaged. The magnificent and old mansion is ran- not by the owners but by the servants who answer to the distant owners.

A permanent bed in the White Rabbit Orphanage is not given, it has to be earned because creatures live among them but, look just like them. The mystery of White Rabbit Orphanage is bloody and infested with secrets

____________________________________________________________________________________________☽______________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________☽______________________________________________________________________________
This is a roleplay group with themes of horror, dark fantasy, mystery, death, mature topics, and the paranormal.

The White Rabbit Orphanage is an orphanage that harbors powerful orphans along side normal ones, raising and harboring the most powerful. There are three types of orphans each with differing moral affinities but, the home only cares about the fiendish ones.

And the normal orphans are there to be fed to the fiendish ones. The home is managed by the servants while the owner is away. Only few of the servants are in the know of exactly what goes on at the Orphanage and those that do are silent, in fear of their own lives.

Roles Available
* if you'd like to reserve a limited role, pm me.

HOUSE KEEPERS :

The house keepers are the only adult residents in White Rabbit Orphanage that run it while the owners are away. They are extremely powerful with their own power tiers and limits, depending on their rank. These servants were created and not hired, with no recollection of how or when it happened.

Its not too far fetched to consider them humanoids rather than actual humans.

Scarlet - A High ranking servant that answers directly to the owner and manages the entire estate. ( 1 spot)

  • RESERVED
  • RESERVED
  • AVAILABLE
The Scarlet is the highest ranking out of the Housekeepers, they are very powerful and if-need- be killing machines. They communicate directly with the Owner of the Estate without question and are the most trusted/capable hands when handling the Island and the home.
  • Scarlets are weakened and physically harm by speaking negatively against Peter's Island. This doesn't include creative exceptions to verbally communicating this.
  • Scarlets are also inclined to obey anyone who has access to their first name for 10 minutes. This is a one time deal as their name will change each time it is used by someone other than the owner.
  • Scarlets know the most about the secrets of the Island and are sworn to them. They are completely tied to the island physically, mentally, and emotionally and they can't leave.
  • In addition to this fact, They can be anywhere on the island at any time without use of their own abilities.
  • Scarlets don't age or die, they are conditionally immortal unless killed by another immortal. This does not mean they lack pain or senses, as they can be tortured or weakened.

Candy - A Mid Tier servant that manages the Blushing Servants and gets trained by Scarlet. ( 3 Spots)

  • RESERVED
  • RESERVED
  • AVAILABLE
The Candy is the second highest ranking out of the Housekeepers, they are more powerful than normal Blushing. They are trained under the Scarlet, chosen by them to raise to be the next Scarlet on the team if/when one of them perishes. They are the next chain in command that also trains/manages the many Blushing Housekeepers.
  • If someone were to off a Scarlet, it is most likely to be a Candy. It is the job of the Scarlet to train the Candy to be of them or better. So its not a shock when a faceoff like this occurs, especially when part of the Candy gaining power is doing duels to test if they've advanced.
  • Candies can in fact track their Scarlets through heat signatures, they can feel their warmth and energy. They can also be summoned at will by them.
  • Candies also have the ability to lack age but this requires an approval test followed by a ritual that is signed by all Scarlets and the Nod/signature of the Owner.
  • Candies can be discriminated against by Scarlets because of the competition and by Blushing due to possible jealously or an belief that circles around that all Scarlets are evil. This can result in a Candy dying before they have a chance to grow, but if found out by the Owner that this is happening- it can result in Scarlets being put down and the immediate growth of the Candy.
  • If they are near a Scarlet dying, they either die with them if they dont run or quickly try to inherit the powers. This is a dangerous event and the choice falls solely on the Candy that was nearest.

Blushing- Low Tier servants that manage the orphans. (Unlimited)

Blushing servants at the lowest rank of the Housekeepers but very important pieces in the household. They tend to the Orphans, manage the chaos, and keep a watchful eye on them. They are supposed to report any strange findings other than the norm.
  • New Blushing Housekeepers may not know about what goes on with the constant deaths going on because of their lack of experience because they to are supposed to head to the rest after a certain period of time which is on the other side of the massive mansion. They are given an orientation eventually. It is because of this lack of knowledge that a brand new Blushing Housekeeper could end up dead as well due to disobeying the rules.
  • Blushing Housekeepers can disobey as they have most of their free will still but it can lead to serious punishment if discovered. But if they dont have on their uniform during work hours, less its their off day, it can result in serious burns.
  • Blushing Housekeepers age normally and behave the most human. Its not surprisingly to find one that still has a moral compass as most do.
  • Blushing Housekeepers are the only ones that get paid, handsomely so to do their jobs- but they can't leave and its less about them having a paycheck and more about them being in charge of providing resources for the home such as clothing the Orphans, fetching groceries, and/or tending the gardens.
  • Blushing Housekeepers can adopt an Orphan! But they are only allowed one and it can't be a Spoiled one. This adopted orphan can't/won't be killed off and they can live separately from the Home.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORPHANS:

The lost boys and girls that end up on Peter's Island, their early memories tend to be roaming through tunnels of trees to finally reach this castle like mansion and this is their only cling to shelter, food, warmth, and self discovery. Protection against the harsh weather of Peter's Island. When an orphan dies inside of the home, the memories of the night before is wiped from every one of the orphans and repressed as dreams instead.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Selcouth- Selcouth orphans are the orphans with powers that aren't monsters. They tend to be a nuisance on the staff who are supposed to put them down and they tend to protect the Harvest Orphans while trying not to get caught themselves.

Selcouth Orphans are the moral side of the Orphan's power range. They protect Orphans from Spoiled ones and execute them. The thing about the Selcouth is that they are a myth. It isn't confirmed whether or not they actually exist according to the House, but they were stirred up by rumors of powerful orphans that aren't monsters.
  • Selcouth Orphans must/have to be extremely good at hiding. They can't use their powers frivolously or else that may result in them being detected.
  • Scarlets and the Owner may be the only ones informed of their confirmed existence and they tend to handle the process of exterminating them quietly. As to not alarm or stir the house into believing that not all powerful orphans are unsalvageable.
  • Selcouth Orphans get more powerful the more they kill Spoiled or determined evil people. These are determined by who glows red in their eyes. This can lead them to saving others from possible attacks. But, this can fight with a Selcouths moral compass if killing is considered wrong to them. It varies.
  • Selcouth Orphans glow a bright blue when they use their powers and they have always been at natural war against the Spoiled Orphans.
  • Selcouths have an inherit healing ability that leaves them weaker for a moment of time.

Harvest- Normal orphans without any powers otherwise known as defect orphans that get fed to the Spoiled Orphans.

Harvest Orphans are the normal orphans stuck in between a tight spot and a glass shard. They didn't ask to be here but they are and they live their life in circles on the run. They aren't even labrats, they're the insects being fed to the snake.
  • Harvest Orphans are not..entirely at the will of everyone else. They may lack supernatural powers but they do possess oddly enhanced natural abilities that are their talents. They use them for survival.
  • There is a rumor about Harvest Orphans that the souls of all the fallen Harvest Orphans possess the island and come back as either Spoiled or Selcouths.
  • Harvest Orphans behave like normal young people, only altered by natural talents they may or may not possess. The only difference is that they in fact age up to when they are 17, if a Harvest Orphan manages to leave the Island- they will begin to age normally.
  • Harvest Orphans seem to be favored by the natural landscape as no wildlife will come to harm them without being provoked.
  • Harvest Orphans are the only orphans that can actually be adopted. Believe it or not the orphanage does in fact take adoptions and they can leave the island.

Spoiled- Spoiled orphans are the targeted, classified as monsters. The process can vary on how long it will take for their monster to completely take over the child but, they are pampered and protected. They only get more powerful through innocent blood.

More Info About Spoiled

Spoiled Orphans are the immoral side of the power range. They consume innocence for power growth and to satisfy their inner monsters. They're not always terrible people though, they just can't control a beast that is stronger then them inside. It is only when they embrace it, they lead it.
  • Spoiled Orphans are pampered. They are what the home only wants and it isn't wild for a Spoiled Orphan to get their way over a normal Orphan. They are praised in a sense.
  • Spoiled Orphans are marked when found and kept in a ledger to keep track of them. This follows a special pattern shown by the Spoiled Ones that allows them to easily find out which ones are Spoiled or not. Its a sporadic process that can e unpredictable in its timing because the process of a regular orphan becoming "spoiled" is strange and random at times. At night at the end of a week, Spoiled orphans are most likely to reveal themselves by getting from where they are at 3.AM to stand in direct moon light and stare up. Its this same night where an orphan or orphans- may end up dead.
  • In addition to this fact, Some orphans can and probably have Spoiled right underneath the Housekeepers noses but it can be hard to keep it secret considering the Spoiled is always being lead by their inner beast. Its hard, not impossible though.
  • Just as the Selcouth can tell whos evil, The spoiled can tell who is Selcouth through clues given. Selcouths leave behind temporary bright white spiritual feathers that only they can see. Touching these feathers can burn a Spoiled and they are only there for a second.
  • Spoiled are not informed of Selcouths, nor do they know of their existence either unless told by a higher up.

The Owner

Here are a few facts about the Owner.
  • The Owner is a widow with several children that only visit occasionally. There are rumors that she killed her dead husband to take his fortunes but it has never been confirmed.
  • The Owner is.. incredibly powerful, to say the least. She's extremely wealthy and her supernatural abilities are near unstoppable. The supernatural abilities are secret, which only the Housekeepers know of- but what SHE is exactly is another story all together.
  • The Owner owns many pets, all different kinds in her enclosure- from wild tigers to elephants.
  • The Owner is known to be incredibly cold, with a misleading warm appearance, tone, and parts about her personality. She's also very motherly and extremely. Particular about her statues.
  • No one knows much about the Owner, not even the Scarlets. But, her reason for starting the orphanage is to "Change The Future", she's never given an explanation on what that means.
  • They are only to be address as Headmistress to Housekeepers, Mother to the Orphans, and Mrs.Elizalbellum to everyone else(she still goes by her Mrs.)

The World is set in the Modern Era. Peter's Island seems to be a world of its own though considering the laws that the rest of the world abides by seems subjective in this place. There are several shops around in town if you leave the seemingly endless tunnels of woods and actual small villages thats never held a device before along with actual cities if you travel far enough. Peters Rabbit is owned by the same owner of the house and have horrible issues of their own involving cryptid invasions and creature rampage.

The house of White Rabbit does possess technology. It is limited as there are only few apps and websites that the orphans are allowed to access. They are also heavily monitored and watched from the inside and out. But it is through this technology that they get things they want inside of the house like big tvs and personal items.

CHARACTER SHEET
Heila Harrow || Scarlet House Servant
Heila's Theme

Mary turned at the end of the hall. She waited for everyone to be asleep before deciding to make her move. As she peered down the hall, she found nothing but darkness. The soft pitter patter of rain against the window was all that broke the eerie silence that slithered about the manor. Mary took a deep breath and made her way down the hall. She looked about and found that the walls were severely aged. The wallpaper peeled and flaked, revealing nests of maggots that hid within the cracked wood. As she passed by a portrait, it smiled at her. Heila never came out of her room. Never... creak. Mary froze. Her gaze followed the sound to find behind a door left ajar, were two pairs of eyes. Staring. Watching. Still. She stepped past without provoking a response. A sigh of relief. This was the door, right? She looked up to a bleeding, crying door. Black ichor dripped from its frame and it stood crooked, like a hunched beast of burden whipped into exhaustion. Mary reached out and turned the handle, opening the door to reveal a plain room.

"Step inside, dear," a voice spoke. A soft, creeping voice. A gentle, coarse, dying voice. Mary did so and closed the door behind her.
"H-Heila?" Mary mustered up all the courage she could. Cold stone floors and walls was all the room afforded her. The air was frigid and stale. A solitary velvet couch sat against the wall opposite from her. Resting on it was a small child, curled up comfortably while a tall, slender woman stroked his head gently. Long, angular features structured her face and it was marked by sickly series of scars that dominated the right side of her face, rendering one of her eyes completely inert. A black dress hugged her frame comfortably and was accompanied by a mantle of raven feathers that sharpened the corners of her shoulders. Her hair was combed straight and fell down her back until it reached her waist. The woman turned. One cold, piercing eye glared at her, while the other remained entirely blackened.

"That is my name, yes," she said. Mary's blood curdled at her venomous tone but as she glanced back at the door she entered, she realized the time for choice was over. She knew what needed to be done. Mary turned back to Heila.

"I saw the graveyard," she said. The Scarlet did not blink. "I-I dug them up." Not so much as a twitch from Heila. "I... I will not just stand by while you slaughter innocent children." Finally, she moved, tapping the resting child. Mary gasped in horror and stepped back as the several sets of eye sockets opened. Some of them were occupied by grey, bulbous eyes that stared off in various directions, others remained nothing but hollow cavities in his skull.

"Hurry along now, my child. Let mother have her conversation," she said. The child nodded and scurried off the couch. It ran to large hole in the wall and crawled inside. "Now," Heila spoke slowly. "What is it you want, dear?"

"I want to stop you. I want to save these children. They don't deserve their fates," Mary couldn't stop her hand from trembling. It didn't help that the temperature of the room continued to drop. She could see her breath.

"Oh... how adorable," she stood. "I'll be honest, sweetheart, I do not take much joy in the job either. However, the job requires me to handle the orphans like so."

"So you're just going to admit to it, then?"

"Of course," she began to pace about the room. "There is nothing shameful in murder. Whether they live or die isn't up to them."

"You're despicable," Mary clenched her fist. Then she laughed. Not a hearty, warm laugh, or even a coy, playful one. Her laugh was low. Sinister. Chilling. Slowly, her neck began to elongate. Her tongue thinned and forked, not unlike that of a snake's as her pale, porcelain face moved towards Mary.

"Not something I haven't heard before," she hissed, "They called me despicable too. Disloyal, traitorous, as well. You've been to the graveyard. You've seen some corpses much too big to be an orphan. Cold-blooded, heartless, apathetic, I could go on. The way I see it, those terms could be appropriately replaced with something like ambitious, self-serving, well... if I'm honest, I think they all suit me. I'm glad to be a monster." Her mouth opened impossibly wide, baring large serpent fangs before quickly shutting once more. Her neck retracted and she was soon back to her more human appearance.

"You won't get away with this," was all Mary could manage to get out before Heila interrupted her.

"Are you going to stop me? A blushing servant? All by yourself?" she paced around the room once more. "You do not know much about me apparently."

"I know enough," Mary said.

"Clearly, not," she hissed, "I wasn't always a monster, you know. I was made into one. The man who presided over this position before me was slain by my hand long before you even knew of this place. What has it brought me? This," her extended out to the plain stone walls. The room rose too high to make out a ceiling but an old unlit chandelier drifted gently from side to side. "I will live forever in this nightmare. No matter where I go, the world twists... screams... agonizes. As much as I would like to be alone, I'm not. No matter where I am, I'm not alone. They watch. They listen. Even now." Mary's eyes moved to the cubby hole in the wall. For a moment, she could see nothing. Then, she saw them. Countless eyes peering through, all staring at her. She inhaled sharply and turned back to Heila who was now stepping towards her.

"No matter what I do, the nightmares follow," the Scarlet stepped forward but her legs didn't move. Shadows allowed her to drift along the ground, "Even my own body is made of the darkness that surrounds me." Mary started stepping back. She grit her teeth. Getting out of here was swiftly becoming a priority. Her back suddenly found the door and she grabbed ahold of the handle.

"And you want to know the best part of it all?" Heila's blackened eye moved. Turning slowly in place like a pool of ink being swirled about. "I despise it." Mary turned the handle. Her heart dropped. She tried the handle again. Tears began to well up in her eyes as her breath grew ragged. Mary turned and attempted to force the door open. Nothing.

"No, no, no, no," she began to push, pull, pound, kick, anything to open the cursed door, "please, please, I need to... I need..." her eyes began to roll back. Deep breaths. No. All she could do was gurgle. Her chest felt warm. In such a cold room... how could she feel so warm. Her body twitched. Blackened claws slipped out from her neck, leaving only a gaping wound to fill with blood.

"A smart woman can figure out the bigger picture with the clues at hand... " Heila let Mary fall to the floor, "A wise woman knows to keep quiet about it."

Hobbies:
+Playing with the animals (Especially the chicken)
+Coloring
+Cutting open stuffed animals and playing with the stuffing ("It's just like snow!")
+"Playing" with the other orphans 😈

Powers: Bringing the dead to life- Caly has the ability to take the organs from a fresh dead body, transferring them into other dead organisms and even small inanimate things like stuffed animals and certain toys.

Limits: The smaller the transferred organs are (I.e if they are from something like a mouse instead of a human), the shorter time the object that is brought to life has. Typically the max amount of time is 30 minutes (if organs are taken from a human) and about 5 minutes if taken from a small animal.

Backstory: The only thing Calypso can remember from her early life are the flashing, dull images of blurred trees and the feeling of stinging cuts and scratches all over her bare skin. She has memories of things like snow and cars, yet can’t recall a moment where she actually saw them. She doesn’t remember any close friends or family either, something she realized most orphans and even the staff don’t know of as well. Despite this scary predicament, Caly hasn’t had trouble getting used to the rather messed up situation she’s found herself in. In fact, she relishes in the nearly abusive nature of the household and enjoys being spoiled by the staff. She has no desire of remembering or going back to her old life- if she ever had one.

What do they want to be when they grow up?: A surgeon ("It's not just about cutting people up, Caly!")

Emra Delvaine

One word to describe them
Ruthless

Orphan or Housekeeper?
Housekeeper

What kind?
Scarlet

Species?
Wouldn't you like to know? I will give you a hint, she is somewhat avian.

Age
30 (in appearance only).

Appearance
Emra is 5’10” without her high heels. She is slim, curvy, and her skin is pale, nearing a light blueish grey. Her eyes are silver in the light but black in the shadows. Her white-blonde hair rests above her shoulders and is styled in various ways, but most often is up in a bun. Emra is never seen without deep maroon lipstick on. Emra walks with confidence, each step appears calculated, graceful, and nearly entrancing to witness.

Emra is not telling you all her secrets (or about all her forms).

Personality Traits

Positive:

Confident, Efficient, Methodical, Observant, Adaptable, Incisive, Phlegmatic
Negative:
Untrusting, Amoral, Aggressive, Deceptive, Dominating, Cold, Sadistic
Neutral:
Stern, Stubborn, Unsentimental, Unhurried, Intense, Irreverent, Irreligious

Hobbies

Hunting
Feeding
Origami
Emra makes origami creatures and has been known to put them in places that most people prefer to keep hidden. Say someone has a book hidden under the floorboard, she’ll put an origami bird there to let the orphan know they have no secrets from her.
Reading

Powers

Hemokinesis

The ability to control blood with the mind. Emra is able to control her own blood or any blood as long as it has been mixed with her own. She can weaponize her blood or harden it to create a sort of armour against physical attacks.

Death Force Manipulation
Able to commune and control the dead (any dead). Those that Emra has killed (and there are many) have been meticulously and strategically buried so she can call forth a minion (or minions) whenever necessary to do her bidding. She is also able to suck any remaining energy from the dead to heal herself or satiate her hunger before feeding (this turns bones into dust).

Passive: Faint precognition, meaning she can sense when something is about to happen, making her tensed and ready, but unable to pinpoint who or when.

Power Limits

Hemokinesis

Can only control her blood (unless it mixes with another).

Death Force Manipulation
She can only suck the remaining life from those she has killed because of their connection (once they turn to dust it’s like they never existed).

Faint Precognition: Cannot determine who intends to attack or pinpoint a time (she only knows when it’s that day).

Backstory

For as long as Emra can recall she has tended to the orphans and served the owners. All she knows is this life, this work, and this town. She cannot remember when she began her life at the orphanage, just that she has always been. She knows the land, where each body has lived or died, and how they came to find themselves in those unfortunate situations.

Only once has Emra felt a semblance of loyalty to someone other than the owners. A previous Scarlet earned her loyalty because, aside from this place, all she could ever remember was him. He always was. The two worked together sufficiently, never striking each other with remarks or physical attacks. They tended after the children, servants, and cleaned up when necessary. After he was killed, Emra explained away the little “accident” and continued her life as though he never existed.

Emra has witness thousands of children walk through the doors of the manor and countless servants have been replaced. Each “missing” person can easily be explained, especially the children since some have a knack for “running” away. Each child provides a service to the owner, each servant has a place, and Emra has always carried out the owner's orders to keep the orphanage functioning at peak performance.

Do they like their job, why or why not?

Yes. The job is sufficient. Emra exists as a hollow being. The task before her is routine and gives her something to do (purpose). Life holds little value to her, and she believes each being provides a purpose. Failing to perform their predesigned task will result in unwelcome consequences.

“Welcome to the White Rabbit Orphanage. You most assuredly will enjoy your stay. We will see to that.”

Hobbies:

  • Scaring the orphans

Powers:

Shapeshifting - As she is a werewolf, Sam is able to shift into a humanoid like figure that stands on its hind legs, with clawed paws, and glowing purple eyes.

Telekinesis - This allows her to speak to the people near her, without actually speaking. Similar to being able to read thoughts, she can only hear exactly what someone is going to say, before they can.

Camouflage - She's able to blend in with her surroundings, despite not being a being of that type.

Limits:

Shapeshifting - Because it takes an extreme amount of energy for her to be able to shift, she often gets extremely tired afterwards and can only keep the form for so long before reverting back.

Telekinesis - She is unable to keep a conversation with the one she is 'talking' to for more than a few minutes at a time.

Camouflage - She is unable to keep herself hidden for more than five minutes at a time, which often ends with her revealing herself.

Backstory: Sam doesn't remember how she ended up at the orphanage, though she does remember when she had to take care of the orphans themselves. It was terrifying to her at first, before she learned exactly how to take care of them from the person before her. She still finds herself at time being scared of them, however she never lets it show.

Powers:
Active-: Invisibility
User can render themselves unseen by the naked eye and become invisible in visible spectrum as well as make others invisible through touch.

Passive-: Emotional empowerment
User become stronger, faster, more durable, etc. by emotions of oneself.

Limits:
Invisibility
Only works for as long as he's holding his breath, limited to affecting only sight (sound and touch are still perceivable).

Emotional empowerment
Only really benefits from it when feeling extremely strong emotions which is rare since he tends to bottle them up, causing 'accidents' to happen.

Backstory:
The you who once existed within these chipped walls is now just another stain on the crumbling wallpaper. Your voice a howl lost in the whistles of the wind whipping against the windows and your face, a fading memory blotting away in sunshine on my iris. Yet I still see your ghost in my reflection every single day and feel your touch linger like fireflies upon my skin.

When will we be free of this birdcage, Hellen?

Nothing lasts forever and especially not so in the White Rabbit Orphanage. The days which he had spent as if in a daze, dreaming away about everlasting friendship written in pinky promises of "let's be together forever" and counting wishes like "-when we grow up" upon falling stars, had all been just that: a dream. One that would end quite abruptly and which he would rouse from only to wake up to a nightmare. Although now no longer the timid boy occupying the nurse's office, he is haunted by a different kind of sickness these days. One which is eating him up from inside out.

What do they want to be when they grow up? (For Orphans)

🍀 Babysitting the younger children.
🍀 Journaling the surrounding wildlife.

Fears:
❌ Nyctophobia | Fear of the dark.

Conditions:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
♥ Highly Sensitive Person.

SUPERNATURAL ABILITIES
They may lack supernatural powers but they do possess oddly enhanced natural abilities that are their talents. They use them for survival.

Talents:
✭ Green thumb - Extraordinarily good at gardening. Vegetation of all sorts seem to flower beautifully under his care on Peter's Island. These plants can be harvested to make herbal medicines and remedies, which have a possibility of being more potent than usual given the quality of care. Marigold is well known for his blooming and herbal teas, as well as his rose syrup and lavender lemonade. Some go to him to cure their insomnia caused by the amount of nightmares bouncing around in their heads.
✭ Hypersensitivity - Marigold's high sensitivities leaves him with acute senses and empathic abilities, enabling him to pick up the faintest of noises and scents as well as notice finer details that the normal person would miss. Things such as dishonest quirks and the slight quivering of bushes can be identified quickly. He's very intuitive due to his high perception, and his 'gut feelings' tend to have an eerily high accuracy. There's always an error margin for false alarms, however, especially since he has a tendency to read too much into things.
✭ Naturalistic Intelligence - Overall, Marigold is very in tune with nature. This allows him to discriminate among living things like plants and animals as well as other features of the natural world, such as clouds, or rock configurations. He has a penchant for picking out the ripest fruits of the bunch, telling plant and insect species apart, and handling the many animals that roam the island. Small and imprintable critters like birds. mice, and strays tend to naturally gravitate towards him in a Cinderella-esque fashion. Traditionally hostile beasts, despite not being domesticable creatures, tend to treat him with respect as well.

BACKSTORY
Most children of the orphanage recall rough beginnings, stumbling through bramble and bushes that scraped their skin bloody as they wandered aimlessly through a hostile, ominous forest. Fearful, lost, and confused, they saw the great mansion in the distance as a huge relief, rushing towards it in seek of warmth and shelter.

Yeah, Marigold Locke experienced none of those things.

The blonde boy remembered waking up in the woods just like any other child, disoriented and puzzled, but not panicky. The forest didn't scare him; in fact, the green canopy was a bit of a relaxing sight for him. Although he had no recollection of being taught anything about wilderness survival, it turns out he had quite a knack for it. His food provisions for the coming days mainly consisted of edible berries, fruit and a couple of plants. He bathed daily by taking a skinny dip in a river he found his first day, hiked downstream to conserve energy, and whenever he was too tired to walk, he sat down to rest and weave himself a basket out of berry bush vines. After all, he figured that there weren't always going to be periodic food sources all the time.

He drank the same water as the deers and other wildlife, who never seemed to mind his presence. At night he discovered he was quite scared of the dark, so he made fires with a nest of dead grass and dandelion fluff, alongside ember from making a hand drill. Overall, he always fell asleep mildly hungry, but nothing near starving. It was almost as if the wilderness had bended to his favor.

Marigold's streak of luck unfortunately didn't last very long before the climate kicked in, as it began to rain on his third afternoon in the forest, leaving himself sopping wet and in need of shelter. After twenty minutes of running and walking under the torrent, he finally found a cave, in which he swiftly passed out inside from exhaustion.

Unbeknownst to him, he had actually walked into the home of black bears. He would only figure that out once he woke up on his fourth morning to a distant scream and two sources of warmth near his body. A quick glance was enough to identify the two bear cubs snuggling up to him. It was nothing too shocking for Marigold though, given how most of the animals seemed rather friendly towards him anyway.

Meanwhile, outside the cave, a Spoiled child had used their powers to slaughter the aggressive mama bear that had attacked them a few minutes ago. They were merely exploring the forest when they wandered near the cave and got immediately charged at, given they were too near her young for comfort.
Needless to say, the child was pretty confused to find Marigold's blonde head sleepily peeking out of the cave nearby, having napped in a bear's den with zero repercussions. Said child eventually guided Marigold to the White Rabbit Orphanage, where he was taken in as an orphan by the staff.

That was a year and a half ago. Marigold has been at the orphanage ever since, proving to be a kind presence amongst the children there. The blonde takes it upon himself to play with the younger kids, resolve their disputes, and help take care of them if they were sick or unwell.

It was at that orphanage that he met his super mega best friend [name to be determined!] and his big sister Paige, whom he cares for deeply. Additionally, finding a love for gardening, he started his own small flower garden (with permission, of course) on Orphanage grounds so it didn't get massacred by hungry rabbits. He often tends to journey out into the forest to record the various animals that populate the place, find certain herbs for his teas, or uproot new wildflowers to transplant to his garden.

However...he doesn't feel right calling the Owner, or any of the Scarlet servants for that matter, mother or father. As kind as they are to him, he wonders where his real family is, and if they're on the island. A question nobody has been able to answer, oddly enough. Speaking of odd things, the housekeepers don't even chase the proclaimed "runaways", allowing them to disappear as if they never existed. They never come back either, as if the forest just...eats them.

Oh well. He's sure that it's just something he doesn't understand yet. So long as he has his friends by his side, everything'll be okay.

And so, Marigold Locke is quite oblivious to the true nature of what goes on in the orphanage...how he's prey walking in a breeding ground of predators. But just how long will he be able to live in bliss before the hard truth comes crashing down on him, threatening those he loves and making monsters out of whom he called friends?

Dear cream of the crop, your time of ignorance is up.

Emra Delvaine

One word to describe them
Ruthless

Orphan or Housekeeper?
Housekeeper

What kind?
Scarlet

Species?
Wouldn't you like to know? I will give you a hint, she is somewhat avian.

Age
30 (in appearance only).

Appearance
Emra is 5’10” without her high heels. She is slim, curvy, and her skin is pale, nearing a light blueish grey. Her eyes are silver in the light but black in the shadows. Her white-blonde hair rests above her shoulders and is styled in various ways, but most often is up in a bun. Emra is never seen without deep maroon lipstick on. Emra walks with confidence, each step appears calculated, graceful, and nearly entrancing to witness.

Emra is not telling you all her secrets (or about all her forms).

Personality Traits

Positive:

Confident, Efficient, Methodical, Observant, Adaptable, Incisive, Phlegmatic
Negative:
Untrusting, Amoral, Aggressive, Deceptive, Dominating, Cold, Sadistic
Neutral:
Stern, Stubborn, Unsentimental, Unhurried, Intense, Irreverent, Irreligious

Hobbies

Hunting
Feeding
Origami
Emra makes origami creatures and has been known to put them in places that most people prefer to keep hidden. Say someone has a book hidden under the floorboard, she’ll put an origami bird there to let the orphan know they have no secrets from her.
Reading

Powers

Wow, so nosey.

Passive: Faint precognition, meaning she can sense when something is about to happen, making her tensed and ready, but unable to pinpoint who or when.

Power Limits

Seriously? You thought I'd put something here?

Do they like their job, why or why not?

"Look at this place!" Brown eyes widen, taking in the place before her. Small scrapes bleed from her arms and legs as she pushes through the bushes, stumbling forward in awe. Vines slap against her head, curling into her messy hair. She doesn't take her eyes off the place before her, though, as hands reach up to quickly tug the vines off. As soon as the girl is free, she starts running, feet pounding towards the building, trying to find an entrance.

This was definitely her new home.

Ares Lýkos

tags, location, outfit etc. this little bar is also scrollable!

General
Name: Ares Lýkos

Gender: Male. Hates that people mistake him for a girl simply because of his face and long hair.

One word to describe them: Instinctual

Orphan or Housekeeper?: Orphan

What kind?: Spoiled

If Selcouth/Spoiled: Unawakened

Age: 9

Height
: 4'9'', 5'0'' including his ears when perked up

Personality Traits:
Positive -
Charming, Intelligent, Genuine, Independent, Trustworthy, Strong, Natural
Neutral - Honest, Observant, Instinctive, Competitive, Self-Conscious, Playful, Private

Negative - Stubborn, Rebellious, Aggressive, Feral, Possessive, Childish, Jealous

Hobbies: Singing, hunting, Eating new foods, and hoarding soft pillows because they are the best for sleeping.

Powers: Has the ability to transform into a wolf that is quite larger than the ones most are use to, due to his young age he his about the size of a Great Dane with more growth awaiting him. There is an in-between stage where he is able to take on a bipedal wolf form but Ares hates how his humanity takes a sadistic twist in that form although the strength and resilience comes along with it, rarely emerges outside of a full moon. All of his senses are heightened to make him the Apex predator
Passive 1 - Communicates via telepathy in the animal forms in order to be understood by non-humans
Passive 2 - High body temperature that makes him resistant to colder environments

Limits: The bipedal form gives the Beast a better chance at taking over while the quadrupedal form causes Ares to require more food after reverting back to his humanoid form.
Passive 1 Limit - Can only communicate with one or more people within a 30 ft. radius
Passive 2 Limit - Is prone to overheating quite easily

Backstory: Ares was one of the few that had splotchy memories of living with his family but they were always tied to some unknown rage that would trigger the Beast to push towards the surface as if it was protecting him from whatever happened. He doesn't like to dwell on the past anyway so it doesn't bother him as long as it is not brought up. Ares had only been in the Orphanage for a week so he was still in a half feral state with all of the new interactions. He was discovered by a Blushing servant that spotted Ares dragging a young elk by its throat fully intent on eating it as he had done plenty of times before. She had mistook him for one of the orphans that had wondered off and reached down to pick him up. Ares snarled and bit forcefully into the servant's shoulder but was still brought into the Orphanage while fighting the whole time.

What do they want to be when they grow up? Ares would like to be a Game Warden, he feels that his skills and talents would be the most helpful for surveying and protecting animals.

jinx power.png

Backstory: Jinx can not remember much of how she ended up here, except for faint memories of a forest, a cabin, two adults with eyes just like hers. Were they her parents? The poor girl couldn't remember, every time she tried to hone in on those memories she would feel a jolt of pain as if trying to remember would do her more harm than good, and thus her brain forced her to forget.

However, her freshest memories were that of running in the night, the pale moon illuminating her scratched and scraped skin. Her panting breaths tinged with fear and confusion behind them.
It would almost feel like an eternity before a clear path would show her new world, confined in a suffocating building, the white rabbit orphanage. Jinx had no idea how she ended up there, what was she running away from in the first place? The only thing that was clear to her now is that before coming here, these feelings of a gnawing but the growing desire for something carnal, something that would make Jinx non-human. At first, it was easy to push aside as uneasiness, trying to get used to a new routine.

But as the months and eventual years came to pass Jinx grew restless, It would eventually take a hold of her psyche, her will power not destroyed, but reawakened, in the form of sacrifice.

However the feelings of depravity that would keep her restless seemed to dull down if she just lazed around. forcing her body to become complacent so she could tackle her mind, an inner struggle of carnal desires against the want of normalcy. As she watches the other children grow, her sense of restraint weakens, and the inner monster grows stronger yet again.

What do they want to be when they grow up? Hotel sleep tester
