  As a long-time Pokémon fan, I've run quite a few Pokémon RPs and always enjoy them... so I thought I would have a try at re-running an RP I have done a while ago, but with (at the start at least) a smaller group and a somewhat different storyline. Even though I've done this before, this is always a big undertaking- so please forgive me if I make a mistake or two!
  
  The RP will be a mature version of the Pokémon world, where things have gone awry and the world has learned that perhaps sending ten year olds into the world with big monsters... was not such a good idea. Not to mention the separation of regions due to different opinions and views; creating warfare of people and their Pokémon.
  
  If this interest check manages to get a few replies of interest, I will immediately work on the CS thread. Time to gather my nerves and post this!
  
  ------------
  
  - Players and characters played must be 18+ (Due to mature and perhaps gory themes.)
  
  - This RP will make use of game-play elements. You earn money, Pokémon levels and attacks from your posts, depending on factors I will not reveal! You can then use said money in Poké Marts, or other IC happenings where it comes up. I, the DM, will edit your Pokémon lists and the like. If I make a mistake, please point it out! Though I'm pretty systematic, my memory can fail me at times.
  
  - One post every week at the least. One post per player before the DM goes, then the players again. Inactivity for 4 weeks without OOC contact explaining it will result in being written out. Of course as long as you explain it, it's all good! We will figure something out.
  
  - No power-emoting, posts must always be an attempt or try against NPC's. If a Pokémon battle happens between two players, simple rolls will be used by the DM (myself) to determine a winner.
  - Catching legendaries, shinies and semi-legendaries will be a no go! But we will encounter them...
  
  - Death is never enforced upon a character or Pokémon, but you may decide yourself to inflict something like that on your own character/Pokémon. Of course you can replace said trainer or Pokémon if you so wish.

  "The world has changed a lot in the past fifty years. The mostly trustworthy world of companionship and kindness was a shining beacon against the scrapyard left behind after the divide." The old man barely filling out his professor's cloak sat hunched over on his chair. He'd gone blind, perhaps having passed a hundred years at this point, as he relayed his worries to the son that were to take his reigns in this troubling time.
  
  His son, Jonathan Oak, had been the resident professor for a few decades now, but with tensions rising even further between the regions, his father wished to impart his story and wisdom. Jonathan knew, he'd been around for sixty years himself after all. But his father had long gone senile. He couldn't deny his story, no matter how many times he was told.
  
  "Son- aid the new ones as much as you can before they embark. They are no longer children going into the beautiful world- but adults heading into war. Thank Arceus it's no longer children... Thank Arceus..."
  
  "Thank Arceus indeed, father." Jonathan echoed with an expression mixed by worry and soft care.

  No longer are children let out on Pokémon Journeys. No longer is the world a friendly and trustworthy place. It all started with an uprise from Hoenn. Both Team Aqua and Magma had influenced the people of the region, spreading their sense of superiority due to Kyogre and Groudon and its two groups revering them. More people began to be influenced by the extreme ideas of Magma and Aqua. Not joining them, but instead training their teams to show their dominance in other regions. When this became widespread, some regions turned to the defensive. Some turned paranoid, and within a mere twenty years all the regions had turned hostile to one another.
  
  Some regions maintained a slight ceasefire, but everywhere existed plenty of extremists. With the regions' separations, the superiority-ideas extended to the generations of Pokémon. Though this was more rare, these extremists also exist. But there are still plenty of those that wish nothing to do with this mess. Unfortunately, authority in regions cannot afford not to have defenses and to engage, otherwise they may cease to fully exist...
  
  ------------
  
  You live in Saffron City, one of the few towns left mostly unharmed by the Pokémon War. But as tensions keep rising, even your city falls. The day starts as normal; your daily job at the Poké Mart, studying or doing the groceries. But when the evening arrives... the first to indicate the horrors to come was the trembling like a small earthquake. Only moments later fire blazes through the streets and screams echo through the city. Loyalists mounted upon flying dragon-Pokémon soar over the city, engulfing the streets in fire. Rock- and Fighting Pokémon destroy buildings and snuff out the lives of both citizen and Pokémon.
  
  They're out for everyone. It's what happened to Kanto- and now Saffron is next. People try to flee; men, women, children- but most don't make it. Perhaps a few dozen survive. They scramble in different directions, creating as much distance between themselves and the burning city.
  
  You and five others scramble in the direction of route five. You dive into thick tree line beside the path, doing your best not to get found as the sounds of the terrors get softer behind you until they stop.... Silence surrounds you.
  
  Without Pokémon and possibly injured or traumatized from your recent experience, it's best to band together. When you find out you are not the only one hiding in the woods... try to make friends, not more enemies. You'll need one another. Especially against the remaining dangers within the forests. Large Pokémon, more loyalists... or simply nature.

  To apply, I will need both a character sheet and an example of your writing. Because I am looking for a longterm group with people that really enjoy this setting, please don't feel offended if I end up denying or needing edits! :< I prefer to have an (almost) even split with women and men, if possible. (If your character doesn't have fire type as their fav it's a little extra bonus point in being picked, haha!)
  
  !!Currently!! we have 2 slots open. One for an Ace Trainer, and one for a Pokémon Ranger. The rules for each class are below, even if they are simple rules! I hope to have either one female and one male, or two males. The people that will be joining the RP around this point, will be able to either be a survivor from the recently attacked Saffron, or a resident of Cerulean.
  
  Roles (the role is your goal, not your starting point!) & Slots available:
  - Ace Trainer (Can use all types of Pokémon, wants to become a Champion) - MALE
  - Ace Trainer (Can use all types of Pokémon, wants to become a Champion) - MALE
  - Ace Trainer (Can use all types of Pokémon, wants to become a Champion) - MALE
  - Gymleader (One type must overlap with all Pokémon, wants to become a Gymleader) FEMALE
  - Pokémon Coördinator (All Pokémon must have some type of charm, wants to become a Master Coördinator) - FEMALE
  - Pokémon Ranger(All Pokémon must be able to be found in the forests, wants to become a Ranger and help Pokémon.) - MALE[/STRIKE]
  - Pokémon Researcher (All Pokémon must be under a Catch Rate of 200, 200 being the maximum. Only the stage when caught counts.) FEMALE
  
  Ace trainers receive a +10 to their 1-100 rolls against Gymleaders, but a -10 with Contests. Coördinators receive a +10 in Contests, but a -10 in Gymfights. Everyone can do Contests and/or Gym trials if it fits their character and journey.

Hello! Of course! I will open the CS thread once I have three replies here, and people can submit CS-es. I will pick three, but those that are earlier and have a sheet that fully fits the RP will always get priority.

Because you're the first to show interest in it, as long as your sheet/writing fits the RP you will always get the slot first. ^^ Though the reason I'm allowing possibly more people to apply is if the ones that were first, their sheets didn't fit :<. So it's not a certainty, but you have a higher chance now that you commented it here!

Hmmmm~. Well, I have the fondest memories of Kanto and Johto, so always those for me! We'll be starting off in Kanto, and depending if the RP stays active and healthy for long, we'll go through all the regions!
