The winning demon becomes the mighty king of the demon world.
There is only one problem - in order for the demons to use their powerful spell books, they need a human partner.
If their spell book is destroyed, the demon disintegrates and returns to the demon world.
Hello, newbie here! So while this premise is an exact mirror of Zatch-Bell’s premise, you do not need to know ANYTHING about it to continue reading!!
This sort of roleplay encourages player-interaction through teamwork and challenges against other teams.
The best part about this story is that there is no specific way it needs to progress.
For as long as their book remains untouched, characters can choose to fight or remain passive for however long they please, and can even develop bonds with others.

Modern-day America in a nondescript state and city. Feel free to have fun with generic names for streets, cafes or whatever else.
There's smartphones, cars, multiple forms of public transit, Wi-Fi hot-spots at your local McDonalds ...
all at your human's convenience!
For the record, human characters in this roleplay can be any age!! Feel free to make them go to school or put them to work.
This is a slice of life-roleplay as much as it's an action roleplay.
Demons are very different from ordinary humans, although most take on a humanoid appearance.
Demons are stronger, faster, and have greater endurance than humans. They can increase these attributes through training their physical and inner strength.
Also, if they get injured, they can recover significantly faster than humans. Demons also have bigger appetites and their favorite food is fish, which they usually eat raw.
There are many types of demon, with many different types of spells. Demon-types can strongly vary, such as Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Gravity, Ice, Metal, Machinery, and much more.
Normally in the Demon World, Demons can cast magical spells on their own but during the Battle to Decide King of the Demon World
in the Human World, Demon spells can only be casted through spellbooks, which can only be read by their human partner.
Much like the magic they posses, demon behavior can also vary, and they aren't always "demonic" in personality.
In fact, there are just as many kind demons as there are power-hungry ones.
Feel free to get creative with your demon personalities!!!
What are the Spellbooks?
The spellbooks come in varying colors, each one differing for each demon.
The pages of the spellbook are filled, from top to bottom, in a text unreadable to humans and, because of its ancient origin,
to the demon who wields it as well as others.
Only when a portion of text becomes the same color as the demon itself does it become readable, but only to the human who owns the book.
The books are like special instruction manuals for battle in that they require the power of the human heart to read them;
in other words, strong emotions such as love, determination, anger, or hatred, must be felt in order to activate the spells.
This power of heart is known as "strength from within" , and is displayed through the book radiating with light and energy
when a spell is read or while storing energy. In addition, higher amounts of strength from within are needed to cast more powerful spells;
however, there is a limit to the strength from within that a person can unleash, and therefore, how many spells they can use at a time.
How are Demons defeated?
If a spellbook comes in contact with an offensive spell from a demon other than the one to whom it is connected,
or if it is lit up through normal means, such as with a match or being thrown into a fire, it catches fire itself.
When a Spellbook catches fire, it will not stop burning as the demon it belongs to will begin to disappear and return to the Demon World.
Once the book is fully burnt, the demon completely vanishes, losing all claim to the throne.
In various situations, it is shown that it is still possible to cast spells even while the book is being burnt.
However, it is also possible to accelerate the speed at which the book is burnt through striking the spellbook with another offensive spell.

One more thing: It's not required, but given the nature of this roleplay, I’m willing to let anyone interested play both a human character and a demon character.
That ways there's equal opportunity for teams AND if someone's demon character is defeated, then they aren't immediately kicked from the roleplay.
Again, depending on how well this roleplay goes, players may even have the opportunity to write more demons later on in the future should they wish to.
