You are one of those Cold War Era type spies. Well, perhaps a bit more of the modern version of such. Whatever. Fact is, you are a veteran spy, a regular James Bond. Only the real spy game was ugly. Think more along the lines of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. You have seen just how evil the world can be - and how much better off it would be without a lot of people in it. (Think more along the lines of someone like Jack Bauer from '24' - before he got screwed up.)
You lost a buddy recently, an old friend who stayed in the game a little too long. Then you got an encrypted email. The email itself was encrypted and written in a pidgin form of Klingon, Vulcan and Andorian. Go figure. Your old friend grew up as a Trekkie and LOTR fan when he was a kid. He liked to encrypt messages in artificial languages. He even made an algorithm that used the SGI glyphs as letters once and was encoded in 3 dimensions. Bastard was crazy.
His last message was a message about a message drop - stored in a bank deposit box which used an old cover ID as an alternative access. In the deposit box was a stamp. On the stamp was a microdot.. The microdot was a message about his last mission and that if he was receiving this, he was dead.
THEN it got weird. You got a text with latitude and longitudes with the key phrase in Goa’uld. It was a meeting set up - after his failsafe had been sent. Weird. But you had to check it out. When you got near the meeting place your car went crazy and drove itself like it had been taken over by some Bond villain. It came to a stop in the middle of nowhere - which was pretty much where the coordinates had been at.
And then it got even weirder. The UFO showed up. They sent your dead friend to deliver a package and a message. What did the aliens want? Well, your friend gave you a package in a briefcase. Kinda retro. With the briefcase was something resembling an iPad. The iPad gave you a dossier for the woman who was destined to wear some supersuit in the briefcase. They must work together to save the world. Then your friend left in the UFO.
The iPad was able to help you track the woman down. (That would be my character.)
