Learning the Truth
Grace_Field_House_anime.png

It was very early in the morning and the old wooden clock that was hung on the wall by a very rusty nail had the hour hand pointed at the 6 and the minute hand was only a minuet or so away from the 12. Once the clock struck 6:00 it was all time for us to get ready and make our beds get dressed and prepare for the day. It was a nice orphanage it really was the food was really awesome our make shift mom cared for us very much and the orphanage was very clean and nice. We all enjoyed it here really thought nothing of it we never knew the horrors that awaited us here we had no idea that when we were adopted we really were just being sold to demons selfish greedy demons. I guess ignorance is bliss right? The forest surrounding the garden was a hot spot for tag. There is nothing like listing to the squeals and laughs of little kids it just fills you with joy. We are all happy we all think were going home one day with a happy family we all think that one day we will get to wear more then one set of pure white clothes one day we will see whats beyond the fence we will learn what is beyond the gate that we have never been allowed to pass or go by we will learn whats beyond the fence that is separating the real and thrilling world from the orphanage. We all thought that one day we would pass the impassible gates and see whats outside the low iron fence. We Thought we would live with a happy family completely bliss full and happy but again we will eventually learn what was really happening . We will actually learn who our mom is we will learn that the outside world is not as bliss full and happy as we thought. we will learn what really happens when were adopted . We will eventually have to learn whats really happening and at that point it will be a matter of survival. We will have to be smart use strategy and escape the only problem how do we escape with everyone?

It was just a few hours ago that Sariah witnessed the horror of being ‘adopted’. The child in a container.. the monsters.. Mom. Feasts? They were just produce? It was too much for her to handle. She was heaving, shaking in terror in her own bed, unsure of what to do next. She had to leave, but how? When? Surely, it wouldn’t be that easy. If they were supposed to be kept here, then that means they would find it hard to just.. get out.

She remained mostly silent though, as not to create a ruckus. If she did, then Mom would surely find out. Would it be appropriate to call her ‘Mom’ anymore?

Abe woke up to what sounded like heaving like someone had just ran a mile in a few seconds. The noise seemed to be coming from the left side of his bed. He opened his eyes staring straight a head squinting his eyes just enough to see the old wooden clock that was smack dab in front of his bed and enough to see the time but not enough for anyone to notice that he was indeed awake. From what he observed it was only him and the other crying....girl that was awake. He sat there in his cozy bed that was warmed up from him sleeping in it for almost 8 1/2 hours. He felt cozy and had no intentions of moving until this moment arrived. He was planing in his head on how to flip to the left side without making noise and not making noticeable movements that might make her question me. He slowly turned barley making any noise also making it look like he was just turning in his sleep. He squinted his eyes again to see who it was to the left of him and he noticed the girl who was in the bed 2 beds away from him. The girl that he was looking at was named Sariah. She was a year younger and was always bright and bubbly and always helpful especially with the younger kids. She was sitting on her bed heaving and shaking causing her whole bed to shake. He had no idea why anyone would be crying at this hour especially a happy bubbly girl like her. Just as he was starting to think up ideas to try to figure out why she might be crying the 6:00 bell went from the old wooden clock off signaling that the house was to wake up. He stayed in bed a few more moments (as to not to draw attention to himself especially because he did not want her to know he was spying on her). Then like everyone else he got up and started preparing for the day but he never stopped thinking about what he saw.

Sariah helped with setting up the table, as she usually did. As one of the older kids, she was usually tasked with such, since she had better motor skills than some of the younger ones. She’d set a plate on the table for each child, along with various silverware. Though, she spoke very little, and seemed lost in her own mind. She wasn’t smiling as she usually did, but made herself force one when a young child just happened to interact with her.

She seemed particularly on edge, and often avoided eye contact with Mom. In fact, it seemed as if she was avoiding her all together. It wasn’t clear if they had a fight or not, but something definitely wasn’t right, and it seemed she refused to say when asked by one of her peers.

Brandon woke up the next morning, helping with the usual tasks that the morning chores had to offer, acting like as if nothing that night before had occurred, to which, he leaned over to sariah as they were setting the tables and whispered “Smile, act normal as if nothing had happened.” Of course, he was just as shocked and horrified as the blue haired girl, but if they made it obvious, they might be the one’s ending up ‘Next’.

While downstairs helping sweep around the dining room (as requested by mother) he watched carefully very carefully to the blued haired girl named Sariah. He was carefully sweeping around all of the tables that were draped with white table clothes and had white plates and some sturdy silverware placed on them all the while still carefully holding an unbreaking stare . He watched as she carefully set the table with a stony expression on her face like she was sucked into a completely different world that only she could enter. It was almost like she was in some trance that for the life of him could not figure out why she was in this weird trance. He continued to watch when a little kid named teddy ran up to her tugging on her skirt asking for help with something. It was almost like whatever was on her mind was completely wiped from her memory and she went back to her normal happy bubbly state witch felt very very forced. He swept around one of the old wooden chairs making a small little pile and then swept it into his bigger pile. Sariah seemed busy and distracted so there was no longer a reason to watch her because she was no longer acting strange. He did a quick scan around the room to see if anyone else was acting strange when his eyes caught sight of a boy. He was pretty sure the boys name was Brandon. He went over to Sariah and whispered something in her ear briefly and walked away. Abe followed him with his eyes and saw that he was acting very tense and anxious. He definitely knew something was up now it was up to figure out what.

Sariah looked to Brandon as he spoke, her face still filled with an undertone of horror and dismay. She continued to set the table after he said what he did to her. She had a smile on her face, but her hands were shaky. On the outside, she’d appear as her usual self, but inside she was being eaten away at the image. She couldn’t help it, really. What else would one do after seeing these kinds of things? Let alone, a child?

She finished her chore, making her way out of the room temporarily, whispering to Brandon to come with her. She had to speak to him, and it seemed that she was trying to make it discreet.

Abe sat at one of the old wooden tables with the old rather uncomfortable chair underneath him. The unnaturally clean table cloth had his plate and utensils laid on it in a very organized fashion. He sat 2 tables away from the where the girl was did her chore. He still was eating himself up trying to figure out what was happening between Sariah and Brandon. He absolutely knew that it was between her and Brandon and he knew that something had upset her. He assumed maby it was something he said or did? He was not even sure if it was him making her upset her or maby the other way around or maby it was not even those two options maby it was a completely different person trying to stir the pot. But why would anyone try to do that we all love each other here right? Ugg the more he thought about it the farther done the rabbit hole he would get. There are endless possibility's some probably beyond my imagination or comprehension and just trying to think about what happend is not getting me anywhere. He put his hands on his face while his elbows rested on the table. He was defeated he knew that he was never going to figure it out......Or he could go up and ask if something was wrong and get information out of her? Yeah next time he sees her he will accidentally get her to say something to get information out of her. He lifted his hands off his face and grinned knowing he would be able to get what he wanted and at the same time also get rid of the gnawing feeling of not knowing anything. Finally answers!
