Our characters have already been captured. . .

Setting

Your character has either been transferred to a new cell or has been recently captured. There are two rows of cells in a short hallway. Either side of the hallway leads to double doors. Cameras are in far more places than what would appear needed. Once an hour, the guards walk up and down the cells and then take their stations right outside the twin doors on either side. The researchers there test a slew of things. From an inmates powers and/or species, to their emotions and how they react. They inject their bodies with different substances to see what will happen. And, the worst, they want to see how each of them battle. Just to see how they can use them in war.

Our characters may not get along right off the bat. There may be some that buttheads and can never seem to get along. Nonetheless, everyone can agree that they want out. Even between feuds and arguments, that is the ultimate goal and it won't be easy.

Rules
1. Every role player must abide by RPNation's already established rules.
2. No godmodding. Do not control other characters, or their emotions. If you have a certain frustration with how another role player is puppeteering their character. Please, take it up with me first.
3. No overpowered players. Now, don't get me wrong. That doesn't mean you can't have a moment where your character suddenly expels enormous amounts of power due to protecting someone else. What grinds my gears is when a character can never get hurt, never be in a dire situation, never be flustered or afraid. Imperfection makes a more perfect role play. Give some hits and take some.
4. Don't shove your character into every single situation and conversation. Not only can there be two scenarios happening at once, but your character may not have any involvement in them. And that's okay! Sometimes it's nice to read and take a break until your character has an opportune moment to get in.
5. Don't shove other characters out. Do not decide that you don't like a certain character, thus they won't be involved anymore. If you're frustrated, take it up with me. I will do what I can to remedy the issue.
6. Cursing is fine, excessive cursing is not.
7. Have fun! And other rules may be added as we run into them.

Extra Notes
This section is for any extra information that we believe won't fit anywhere else.

"Come on men," Annebelle said as she waltzed down the hallway of the research facility. "Pick up your pace. The collection has arrived. I wish to see and hear all about them." The corners of her mouth lifted and curled into a sly smile. "I'm itching to know everything there is to know about them. I heard they're a good handful to have. Jon, do you have the clipboard?"

Jon nodded, though Annebelle was in front of him. "I have a list of those who were recently captured and those who were transferred to our branch. Shall I read them off to you once we are inside?"

"Yes, sir!" she exclaimed and pushed her ID card against a clear platform. A loud buzz echoed through the building and the door opened. In front of the three was thin corridor that stretched quite aways. On either side of the corridor were cells, one after another, each being different either in slight amounts, or entirely unique. Annebelle inhaled and strutted inside. "Do you smell that?"

The two men exchanged looks and then knitted their brows at the overseer. "Fear," she cooed.

Jack rolled his eyes. He had just come to the branch a few days before the celled inmates. He had heard rumors of this Annebelle, so far, all seemed to be true.

"Read them off," Annebelle ordered and walked between the cells.

Jon scooted his glances up the bridge of his nose. "The first one to our left is a female who calls herself, Essence," he gestured to a birdcage-like cell. "She is a harpy. This is a new being that has surfaced and we haven't much information on her, besides her endless wits of unlocking her own cage." He turned his palm to his right side. "This is, Marcus Everheart. We believe he is an alien species that we know not the name of. He has the ability to turn into a beast. It is unlike anything we've seen as of yet. Thus he isn't considered Fantasy-being or metahuman. Beside him is, Fray Kendleton. We knew she was a nymph, but didn't know exactly what kind until this morning. She is a Material Nymph. It seems her body has taken a liking to wood and metal." Jon paused for a few heartbeats and stepped forward. "Across the way from Fray is, Glimmer. As you can very well see, she is a star elf. The second one we've ever procured." Jon tapped a pen on the cell beside Fray. "Meet, Aiden Aylian. He was originally human, believe it or not. He was forcibly meshed into with a demon. A very peculiar specimen. Considering if it hadn't been for the demon, he might have been out here with us."

They had come at her with axes when they had decided to capture Fray. She couldn't help but think of how ironic it had been as she attempted to defend herself. She put up a good fight, but inevitably grew tired and worn. A single fantasy-being against a horde of soldiers from D.e.Sign was simply impossible for someone as untrained as her. There were hasty labs done to her, just to figure out the best way to shove her into a locked room for good.

Fray hadn't met so much terror until she was put into solitude for three days, or at least, she was sure that was how long it was. The next thing she knew, the nymph was thrusted into a cell. There were others there. Each capable of seeing the other. She tried it. She attempted an escape the first night. The moment she forced metal from her body, the air had left her as she was thrusted into a giant magnet. Alarms blared and an intercom continued to belt, "Magnets will not let go until you cease and desist, magnets will not let go until you cease and desist!"

The cruel embarrassment and shame drove her to the corner of her cell since that moment. Only changing positions to partake in the food they so graciously gave. It was two days later that a group of three entered the cell corridor. They spoke of those in the cells. That was how she learned of her cellmates' names for the first time. She repeated the names in her mind over and over. They were all she had, even though she couldn't even think of how their voices sounded like.

Fray narrowed her eyes as they spoke of her, though. As if she was an object, a thing to look at. Once the three finished talking about each inmate, she couldn't help but murmur, "Isn't it great that you guys aren't in here."

The female researcher gave her an amusing look, but said not a word and continued with the two men.

Most everything was going well in the mountains; the murder had no trouble finding food, their numbers were increasing, and the lower elk populations had forced the wolf packs to look for food elsewhere. Trouble soon began to stir as soon as reports of human invasion began to circle around the murder. Words of new houses and markets and people, moving closer and closer to the Roost every single day. It wasn't long before there were continuous reports of strange humanoid-bird creatures living in the town of Silverthorne, and with monstrous rumors come D.e.Sign.

Everyone in the murder flew away, except for Essence, who stubbornly fought for the Roost; the biggest mistake she had ever made. Her youth had blinded her of the realism of the situation but all was not lost. These new humans not only provided her with food, but endless entertainment. Some strange new toys of metal and wood were all that kept her in her cage, and boy were they fun to play with. It took such precision to get them open! Such fine tuned skills! The humans were also quite fun. One of the guards dropped his sound box on the ground and now, anytime a new human walked by, she would mimic the sound and watch the confused human spend upwards of 5 minutes searching for the dropped item that had never fallen.

This is where she remained; blissfully unaware of the inner workings of D.e.Sign, though that viewpoint was most certainly bound to change.

Glimmer Of Stars In Darkness was not having a good week. First, she had been caught in a graveyard digging up a body by her cousin Moonlight On Swaying Grass. Then, he had told the Matriarch. Then, Glimmer had been voted out of the pack; they even took her Hunting Charm. Then, only a few days later, she had encountered agents of D.e.Sign. It seemed that they had been looking for her, because they had brought magic resistant nets and tranquilizers.

Waking up in a small contained space was unpleasant. Learning that there was no sky access was extremely worrying. Hearing the humans who worked here talk about her like some animal was not unexpected, the feeling was mutual. Prey should not be the ones to trap predators.

But that was just her instincts. Glimmer knew the situation. Outnumbered, she knew escape was not an easy goal. She had hope, of course. But it was a small, distant hope. She had to make sure she kept believing that someday she would be free again. She just didn't know if someday was months, years, decades, or even longer away...

Marcus’ capture had been a spectacle to say the least. After all, none of these humans had expected his other self to be such an uncontrollable monster. It had taken several attempts for them. The first attempt ended with Marcus having an all you can eat buffet. His personal favorite memory is when they tried to use stun guns and his body just absorbed the electricity like he was a plant performing photosynthesis. The second attempt was definitely D.e.Sign trying to figure out what did and DID NOT work against him. They'd try a couple of new things then run away as his monstrous side tried to eat them. This had gone on for nearly a month before he'd been caught in a gravity trap. If there was one thing a Staahg hated, it was gravity levels they hadn't been able to adjust to yet.

Now here he was sitting in a meditative position inside a cell. The corners or which had mounted turrets that would fire at him if he ever managed to complete his transformation. Not to mention that the floor was one MASSIVE gravitational plate. And the fact was that no matter how much he adjusted to it, the first sign of that meant it would drastically increase and slam him back down to the ground again. As the trio of people spoke, Marcus merely smirked. "Fear? My dear, you have no idea what TRUE FEAR is." He smirked; When one was facing a Norn, Geldak, Calthan or Nalgam THAT was terrifying. Sure, he could EAT energy, but those four? They CONTROLLED it. They could shape it. There was honestly nothing on this miserable little planet besides a vacuum that could contain them, and even then there would be ways for them to escape. No, there was nothing that this human could do for a species that had been in a war amongst five sibling species.

What the humans DID provide though was names. His neighboring cellmates. Essence, across from him. Fray to his right. And across from her was Glimmer. There was more beyond Glimmer, but shouting down the halls would create a problem with guards. No, these three closest to him would be who he could talk to, for now. As the trio continued on their little "tour" Marcus stood and approached the bars of his cell. There wasn't any energy other than the ever present potential energy in all things. Sadly only the Calthan could forcibly steal potential energy and rob a thing of its existence. It was terrifying to watch. "So, you're the knew person in charge of me? Hope you taste better than the last one." Marcus joked and picked at his teeth. The woman had turned to him with a cruel smile and laughed at him. She mocked his comment and approached the cell.

"Trust me boy, you're not going to be so tough once I'm through with you."
Marcus merely shrugged at her threat as he went back to the center of his cell and went back to meditating. It was something that he'd picked up on when he landed on this rock and it seemed to help keep him from becoming his true form without initiating it himself. It was something he was grateful to humanity for, if nothing else.

A dry, humorless chuckle escaped Aiden's lips as he listened to the scientists on the other side of the glass wall. A 'Specimen' they called him. He had to admit that was pretty low on the list of names he'd been called. Or had called himself. He wondered vaguely if it counted higher or lower than being called a 'subject.' He decided it was worse, though not by much. Specimen sounded more clinic, cold, and uncaring. "kind of like this room" he muttered to himself wryly. It was perfectly square, though not perfectly cubed -the ceiling was too low for that- and everything was horribly clean. Ayla hated the place, which didn't surprise aiden really, but he himself could deal with it. At least for now, the place gave off the kind of vibe that gets under your skin before you know it.

Aiden had only been here one night though, so really it wasn't so bad. There had been enough activity with the security and the scientists and the other 'specimens' that he wasn't bored. So far at any rate. The large glass wall that served as the front of his cell was ideal for viewing those across the corridor from himself, though not so much for saying hello to those on his left and right. The solid wall also muffled sound fairly well, so talking with those outside would be difficult, though not impossible.

Glimmer, the 'star elf' as the scientists called her, was across from him. Or to be specific across from the cell next to his. The cell next to him apparently had a 'material nymph' named Fray, and even farther beyond her cell was a transforming beast-man named Marcus. There was also a harpy on Glimmer's, left, away from Aiden himself. He couldn't really see the harpy's cage very well from his angle, but it seemed like some kind of birdcage.

I suppose this is as good a time as any. The possessed human sighed to himself, standing up from the low cot he'd been given as a bed. walking up to the glass wall, he waved a greeting over at Glimmer -the only one he could see properly- and then turned and knocked on the wall to his right, hoping Fray would be able to hear it.

Fray's head perked up as she heard a knock beside her. She first looked at Marcus, who appeared to be meditating and then twisted her head to Aiden. She knitted her brow and waited for the researchers to leave, and listened to the mechanics locking the giant metal doors. Before standing, she peeked at each of the captives and then shuffled to the side of the cage. She was fearful. Waiting for the magnets to turn on, waiting for the impending pain.

No such pain happened. She was, as far as she could tell, safe. No researchers, no magnets, just the prisoners. Marcus was the first to speak up to the researchers, something she hadn't the guts to achieve. While Aiden, the man, who she believed she heard was possessed by a demon, spoke to her.

Fray lifted her hand and unfurled her fingers in a shy wave. Pitiful. What a way to meet someone. Locked up in a cage, shivering from dismay and dread. From her point of view, she was the most angst one of the group so far. Thus, she attempted to straighten her back, roll her shoulders, broaden her stature and mustered the impeccable courage and hoisted the words, "Hey there."

Glimmer waved back at the prey-turned-predator. She would have to be cautious of that one. In the past, any human with strength was a danger to the pack. Glimmer hoped that this 'Aidan' would be different. She would have a greater chance of escape with allies at her back.

Glimmer perked up at the movement of the nymph across from her own cage. She watched her closely. Nymphs were not Glimmer's favorite creatures. They looked like humans, like prey. On the few occasions that Glimmer had mistaken a nymph for a human she had come out of it with new scars. Nymphs were not to be trusted, but Glimmer was desperate.

The guards are gone, and the toys are up for playing. The creatures across from her were beginning to make conversation, but Essence cared little for that. Right now, she had a job. Using the little claws at her forward most elbow joints, she hooked herself onto the mesh-like caging and began maneuvering the cage wall, towards the door. Once she was in a comfterble spot, Essence was able to reach her claws through the holes in the cage and slid her claws into a standard lock. The least fun of the contraptions. It was a bit too easy, and within a few seconds, the lock clicked open, and Essence unhooked it and threw it to the floor. It made a very satisfying sound as the metal lock clacked against the concrete floor.

Next was a chain lock. Again, any creature with a simple mind could figure out how to open it. The deal was the same with the latch lock. It was only once she reached the new toy. This new toy made her quite upset. For one, the guards removed about four other locks and replaced it with this one. Secondly, it was totally impossible! Just a flat pad. Essence had watched as the Jack human had to scan his hand. No one else ever tried to open her door, not even that Annebelle person. Essence decided a while back that she did not like Annabelle. Anyhow, no matter how much Essence tried to pry the pad off or put her own "hand" onto the pad, nothing worked. A stalemate. In frustration, the bird woman climbed down to the bottom of her cage and reached her long leg through the bars, picking up the first lock. A standard lock and key type situation. There was little else to do in this prison, so the bird climbed back to her one provided perch and locked, then picked the toy. Over and over again.

Stuck inside a containment pod, Draak tried looking through the glass window on the top of the container but all he could see was the grey of the ceiling and a few blurry faces that passed by too quickly to make out the details. His ears were filled with the internal humm of the containment pods internal machinery—the sound of which would always send chills up his spine—but despite inability to see or hear his surroundings he could still feel the moment they stopped moving.

Someone tipped the pod forwards and he stumbled out; scrambling to get as far away as possible and losing balance several times as the world continued to spin around him. He was almost to the centre of the room when his shin collided with something solid and he reached down and groped around until is hands connected with some kind of smooth object. It seemed large and fairly stable, so he let it support most of his weight as he sank to the ground and wrapped his wings protectively around himself like a shield. You'd think that for all the effort they'd placed to get him here—wherever 'here' was—that they'd have been a bit more gentle. I've collected enough scrapes and bruises on this trip I could almost call it a collection. Not that these are the kinds of things I want to collect. Like. At .All. Not that anyone cared what he wanted, of course.

"Looks like the last guy might have given him too much tranquilizer. Make sure to remind them to adjust the dose in the future,” one of the guards said as their footsteps trailed away.

Draak took a deep breath, counted to ten and then hauled himself back on his feet; still feeling like shit but reluctant to spend anymore time than necessary looking the same way. His mind was still foggy, but his vision had finally cleared enough to make out the details of his new surroundings. Not that it helped much—maybe even not knowing would have been better. Sure, he'd thought that PrimeEvolution had been bad, but even they had given their subjects something more than what amounted to an empty cubicle and bed. No, not even a bed. Just a vaguely square-shaped rock I'm expected to sleep on.

Even though the sound of footsteps had already disappeared, Draak still felt the need to see for himself if the guards had actually left or not. There were four windows to choose from, so he picked the one with the built in door he'd just been not-so-ceremoniously dumped through and pressed against the glass; doing his best to see what was going on outside the cell.

"uh- Hey, I can't see you from the other side of this wall but it seems like you can hear me. I'm Aiden, I guess I'm your neighbor and since we're stuck here I figured I'd say hello and get to know you all. Better than just listening to the scientists at any rate."

Aiden paused, he'd never really been the best at leading introductions. He normally ended up being all formal, but that was kind of hard when there were walls full of counter-measures between everyone. He'd just have to do what he could for now.

"I'm not going to lie, I don't entirely know what's going on here, but we're clearly all special and have some kind of special ability or origin. I've never met a nymph before, or know what a star-elf is, or know why you all were tossed in here like me." He gestured around at the people he could see -which were Glimmer and the guy who'd just been tossed in the cell across from him Draak. "But if you're up for talking then I'll gladly talk about myself as well."

It occurred to Aiden that there were two other captured people in the farther cells he couldn't see. He wondered if they could hear him despite being farther away. Well if they couldn't hopefully Glimmer and Fray, the two with the center cells, would be able to relay messages and talk with them.
