Fantasy The Facility (In character)

It is chilly in here. She thought to herself as she stepped into the arena. But she had been outside in the cold before. In her homeland apparently it was the same kind of weather so she hoped to go visit some day. "Where are you going?" She calls to her opponent not wanting to disqualify him or be disqualified for attacking too early. She glances up at the control room where everyone was watching and tried to look confused. She just happened to spot sariko and a blush crept up on her face. She always loved seeing this big, strong side of sariko. So demanding! It just got her so riled up. Priscilla hoped that one day sariko could wrap her up and hug her tightly like it looks like she could. Her oen dirty thoughts seemed to get the better of her as she was lost in thought about what she wanted her and sariko to do.

This daytime setting certainly would help her with hiding from her foe at all and she certainly didn't think he would really go after her due to his fesr of spiders so she stayed in her trance like state as she stared up at the cow girl. The air seemed pregnant with annoyance when the spider seemed to snap out of her trance and began to sneak towards her foe. Like a fly in her web.

Director Clair O'Reilly
Jormungand-10_6-Koko-Hekmatyar-eyes.jpg

Clair O'Reilly, the director of 'The Facility' and retired Navy Seal gone super soldier. A woman who demanded respect and obedience from those under her and a woman who above all else strove to produce results. And not half ass results either, this project was her prime objective and she would not tolerate any dip in results or funding. With the backing of the pentagon and operating under the highest level of secrecy, well it was safe to say failure was not an option. Unless of course one was prone to suicidal thoughts, of which Clair was not.

No, Clair had a different thought in mind all together. Clair held the thought that above all else her project would give the American government the edge against any threat it was faced with. That it would give the government the perfect set of 'tools' to commit international assassination and espionage without ever being detected. To bring the country back to it's rightful place as superpower and leader of the free world. To take presidency and enact military rule.... Okay maybe the last part was a bit far fetched but you get the point right. Clair had her sights set on turning this little side project into something that would far outstretch the standards set out for her in the brief she received when she started. When the previous director was still alive and kicking he was simply tasked with keeping the subjects alive, which he failed at doing spectacularly. And well she had already done that and more within her first two years as director. Now six years into her position Clair was training super soldiers the likes no one had even conceived of prior to her election. She was carrying out strike missions with her teams and taking down high value targets without a single slip up.

Clair was doing unbelievably well in the governments eyes and that was all that nattered to her. However it was safe to say her methods were.... of distaste to the experiments she was over. She ruled with an iron fist, with fear and through sheer torture. Clair was ruthless but produced results like no other. No one would ever dare question her authority and no one would dare speak distastefully to her face. Bar they had a death wish of course. Or they were Aaron and simply enjoyed testing their luck on a bi daily bases.

Today was the day of the team testing and although no word was given it was almost assured that the team who failed win would be punished severely. And with her schedule clear for the morning Clair was set to watch the matches and ensure she knew who needed to be worked harder. And that she did, from her office. However she was soon forced into action as the first match almost immediately went pear shaped. Grabbing a hold of her dessert eagle Clair quickly made her way to the exit Cyke was making for and just before he came to it. The door began to slowly open by itself.

As the snow filled haze came to settle Cyke found himself staring down the barrel of the handgun and Clair was staring coldly at him more or less daring him to take another step forward "Cyke..... Are you feeling brave?". Clair spoke just as coldly as her stare. And after a few seconds of silence she let out a shout "Are your ears as useless as your brains!" Her words echoing throughout the snow filled room. Herself remaining hidden and out of sight from those in the control room leaving those there to only speculate what was going on.

Ryker pushed back his chair and stood, a slightly confused look passing his face for a moment. What was Alfonse upset about? From his eyes, all Ryker had done was ask what was obviously on his mind. As team leader, it was his job to know what was going on with everyone, even those who weren't so enthusiastic about his role. Making a mental note to check in on Alfonse later, Ryker made his way to the table that held some light refreshments. He hadn't known how hungry he was until the walking beef lady had made announcements.

Speaking of which, it seemed as though he would be fighting one of his own team. Fawn was the owl girl, right? He hadn't seen her here yet. Of course, it was no skin off his nose if she was too lazy to pull herself out of bed, but it was a mark of bad discipline. If she did decide to join him, he wouldn't give her an easy time. Ryker was infamous for battling hard when it came to events like these. His opponents rarely left without some kind of scar, and the power of his legs while in shifted form was deadly.

Grabbing a bagel, Ryker decided to spectate. Priscilla versus Cyke... That would be interesting. Crossing his arms across his chest, he gazed down the large window onto the battlefield, which was covered with snow. That weather wasn't his or his shifted form's forte, but he would make do. It seemed as though Cyke was trying to get it before the fight even started, but he knew that would never happen. The people who ran this place would never let someone just walk out of an experiment.

Yes, this was an experiment of sorts. At least, it was a trial. They wanted to scope out the strongest and the weakest, eliminating flaws as they went. But as Ryker viewed it, there was nothing wrong with that. This was his life, and he was loyal to those who had raised him and made him who he was. They had unlocked his true potential and made him a great leader. For that, he was eternally grateful.

Black eyes flashed open in a panic. With a stifled gasp of horror, Fawn tumbled out of bed, covers tangled around her legs and hair covering her face. Again! She had done it again! When those precious few moments of sleep had finally caught her, she had slept through the alarm and probably missed the morning meeting. How had she managed to do that? Her ears were extremely sensitive, but once she was out, she was out until her brain decided to take matters into its own hands.

Half-screaming curses as untangled herself from the covers, Fawn threw off her thin pajamas and pulled on her black fighting uniform. She thought she had remembered Sariko saying something about duels today, so it was better to be prepared for anything. She pulled her hair up and out of her face, spraying it with some dry shampoo as she did. Opening her door and slamming it behind her, Fawn raced down the hallways and into the operations room, where everyone already was. Masking herself with a bit of false confidence, Fawn took a seat at the Zeta side of the table, her eyes catching the screens on the wall. In a moment, the flush drained from her face, and she felt her throat go dry.

She would be fighting Ryker? Her team leader? Like, one on one?

Fawn was going to die.

She noticed that the first fight had already begun, and that Ryker was watching at the window. That meant she was next. Fawn put her head in her hands, her still-fuzzy mind trying to comprehend what was happening.

Zerili - 20 - Wolf Girl
Zerili watched as the first match began, crossing her arms over her chest. Her wolf ears flicked as the well places mikes picked up what was being said. She didn't approve of the methods used by Director Clair, but she couldn't go against her either. She didn't feel like landing in a world of pain or worse, dead.

She also didn't approve of Cyke pretty much running away from the task given. She had heard he was afraid of spiders but Priscilla was also human... She knew if someone had a fear of dogs and they hated her or feared her for that she would be slightly hurt. Animal might be in her but she wasn't an animal, then again Priscilla seemed to not mind her spider half. She chuckled to herself at the thought, she noticed the way Priscilla looked at Sariko. It was cute and she wanted to help the two...now Sariko....she didn't know if she felt that way about Priscilla but maybe she could find out. Her golden eyes flicked over to Sariko with mischief, after the tests.

Cyke made a childish looking pouty face as the continually starred into the director's eyes as she continually pointed her weapon towards his general direction. His eyes began to grow a small little twinkle as he tried to put on the most convincing puppy dog face in an attempt to get out of the fight. However, he knew it was pointless as his head quickly dropped breaking the eye contact he had made with the director.

"Fiiiine" he replied dragging out the word. "Ill go fight the scary spider lady" he said slowly turning his back and moping towards his initial spot. As he came to a complete halt noticing Priscilla seemed to be distracted. He began to morph into his humanoid squirrel form as fur rapidly grew over his entire a body and a tail almost instantly grew from his lower area. While his height and weight stayed the same his phsycial features changed drastically. "Hey.....Priscilla" he called out weakly to snap her out of her distracted trance. "Lets just get this iver with" he said taking a defensive stance with his legs widely spread out and his arms covering his face as a boxer would to guard any thrown attacks as he waited for the official fight to start.

Priscilla blinks at the squirrel and stands there examining the situation. There was no way she could win in a head on fight since he was a lot stronger than her. She quickly spun a wen and tossed it at him in a distraction hoping to web his hands or his eyes to bind him or blind him. She scurried into the trees to break his line of sight. The snowy environment would be perfect cover to hide her webbing so she could possibly web him if she could just hide herself....That's when the idea hit her. She began to make an igloo type building out of her webbing quickly to disguise herself. The webbing was thick enough and she was fast enough due to being pushed to make structures faster and faster by the director.

Aaron walked over to the window, tea in hand, to watch the fight happening. He watched as Cyke tried to get out of the fight and sighed 'Dammit Cyke are you trying to get yourself and me in trouble?' he thought to himself. He couldn't see who he was speaking to but knew it was the director. He growled lowly to himself 'If she lays a finger on him there will be hell to pay', luckily Cyke backed down and began the fight. He watched as the two combatants moved around in the snow. Cyke easily had power and Priscilla had skill with those webs, he would know he helped her test them to keep the hag off her case. He strolled over to stand next to Ryker, "May the best team win" he and Ryker may have differing opinions on certain matters, including how to lead a team, but he respected the man. He'd clearly raised a strong team, and this was going to be difficult for Omega to say the least.

Cyke quickly launched himself using his powerful legs to avoid being hit by Priscilla's web. He knew to win he wpuld have to get in close and land heavy hits since his physical strength was superior to hers, but because of his fear there was no way he was going to touch her in the slightest. He began to think of different plans on how he would remove the headband without getting caught in her icky web, but found soon that it would most likely just end up with him getting caught in someway.

Noticing she made a hasty retreat in an attempt to hide Cyke quickly pursued trying to maintain visual contact. However, he would soon find himself in a tricky situation as she seemed to have somewhat disappeared out of nowhere causing Cyke to grow immensly nervous looking to see where she could have gone. "I'm so screwed" he muttered to himself.

Priscilla could feel Cyke walking around the forest through her web strings. It was a tactic that she was forced to learn. She would create a thin web string and attach it to trees throughout the forest sort of like a tripwire. The target would touch it without thinking much of it, but it gave her the knowledge of their location. She tracked him for a while before leaving her house when he was close to her, but also facing away from her hiding place. "Like a fly in my trap," she thinks to herself before scurrying along behind him.

She could smell his fear and it make her want to wrap him up and just devour him, her instincts spoke to her. Priscilla began to quietly weave a net web as she followed him to throw over him. As she crept closer and closer, her web neared completion and right when he noticed her, that was when she struck and wrapped him in her web, incapacitating him from the neck down. She quickly grabbed the headband that the match was over.

Ryker.jpg

Ryker had never been one to possess rivalry between his team and Aaron's. He believed both were equally as important, but if asked, wouldn't be afraid to vouch for his favorite. He respected Aaron's leadership and was glad to work with him. But damned if he was going to let Omega steal the win on this one. His team was strongest, and the strongest within it would certainly win. As he turned to face Aaron, his face stoic and serious all at once, he wondered if the other team leader felt the same way. Was he proud of his team? What about everyone else - What did they feel? Ryker couldn't help but feel that this wasn't as important to everyone else. They all had dreams and aspirations, as if they were going to get out of here at some point, but Ryker knew that would never happen. This was their home. They all belonged here for as long as the Director wanted them.

"It's interesting - neither of those two are built for such cold terrain." Ryker motioned to Priscilla and Cyke as they fought below. "While they're fighting each other, the cold is fighting them too. It's like a fight against time." He thought of his own shifted form. Secretary birds lived in Africa, which meant they wouldn't encounter snow. Ryker realized he might find it difficult to fly in such cold air.

"Now Fawn - She's built for this. She's a silent flier, and she can cut through that freezing air like it's nothing. My fight will be interesting." Ryker cast a look over to his teammate, who also happened to be his upcoming opponent. "It might be difficult to get the upper wing on her." Turning to look at Aaron once more, he questioned, "What about you? Who are you against?"

Zerili - 20 - Wolf Girl
Zerili turned her attention back to the fight, she had already known who was going to win this one. It was just her gut telling her so, but Priscilla had the upper hand. The snow made for great cover for her webs, before Cyke would know they were around him it would be too late. Again she felt a pang of sympathy for the guy, though she would never admit it. Her ears flicked backwards as she heard the sound of someone heading their way. "Karlos...." she growled lowly, her tail swayed with irritation. Why couldn't he follow the rules and pay attention like the others.... She met him at the door, "Look Karlos, I'm not the team leader but when a meeting is called you show up on time...." Her arms were crossed over her chest as she glared at the lion shifted man. "The team doesn't Ned to be punished for you laziness...."

Karlos - 19 - Lone Lion
Karlos had heard the announcement for them to meet up, he just didn't feel like getting out of his bed. He yawned as he padded down the hall his tail swayed behind him in a lazy manner. He was just following the scents of the others, not knowing what was going on. He walked through the door coming face to face with his team mate Zerili. She started in on him as soon as she saw him, "Look princess...I really don't care." He said with a yawned, Zerili growled, "Why you little...." Karlos walked passed her the fur of her tail ruffled, he wasn't in the mood to listen to her bitching. She always had her nose were it didn't belong, or it was so far up the boss's but she'd follow them off a cliff. "Then again maybe that's just the dog in her..." He said to himself not thinking about the fact she could hear him. Next thing he knew Zerili pounced on him, pinning him to the floor by the throat with her clawed hands. "Don't....ever.....and I mean ever call me a dog again....." Her ears laid flat against her head.

Aurelia Hoizer
"So Aaron, a fight between the two of us. Who do think will win?" Aurelia asked, coming up beside her, well, the closet person she had to a friend. She had gotten another cup of coffee, so we a little late to the viewing, but she was truly interested in her combatant's opinion. "I for one, believe you'll win. You're string than I am." Though who knew what the outcome would be." It was at this point she noticed Ryker. "Of course she had heard the conversation they were having, but hadn't seen where Ryker actually was. "That's an excellent point. These two will either have to fight though the cold, or end the battle quickly. And as for who our dear Aaron here is fighting, it's me." Dafyddwilliams14 Dafyddwilliams14 boo. boo.

Alfonse AtwoodIt didn't take long for the first round of the duels to start. Alfonse didn't really care much for the first battle, mainly because it in no way included the team he belonged too. He didn't mind who'd win and paid little to no attention to the two fellow experiments as they danced around in the cold setting. Alfonse was too busy preparing himself for his own battle, carefully looking over the surroundings to spot any particular place that could possibly grant him an advantage, because he definitely needed one. It was needless to say that the younger boy had quite a bit of confidence within him, but he wasn't stupid. Obviously, he would be at a slight disadvantage thanks to the cold. His fight would basically be a race against the clock, battling both exhaustion and a chance of hypothermia while also having to think about a terrifying wolf running after him. Luckily, trees existed and were definitely going to be used in battle.

The cold wasn't even Alfonse's biggest problem. Sure, he absolutely hated it, but it didn't magically prevent him from fighting. The fact that he wouldn't be able to use his toxin at all was a major handicap that, though obviously understandable, did put Alfonse at a severe disadvantage. It would force him to rely on quick movements and, well- luck! Nevertheless, Alfonse's everlasting confidence assured him that everything would be alright. He'd win this battle, even if it was the last thing he'd do! That nap time belonged to him, and he was going to get it.

While Alfonse was keeping himself busy with analyzing the area, the young boy heard the familiar voice of his temporary nemesis behind him. She sounded quite startled, resulting in Alfonse turning around and observing her little situation from a respectable distance. He didn't really think it was up to him to interfere in his teammates' struggle, but he did anyway as he didn't want them to get in trouble. The moment Zerili pinned the Lion down to the ground, Alfonse closed the distance between them and carefully kneeled down, putting his hand on Zerili's shoulder before speaking up in a somewhat more gentle tone. "I don't think it's smart to waste your energy on this." it was essentially just a nicer way of saying "stop fighting", just not as direct. Alfonse decided to not talk about the silly insults Karlos had thrown at her, considering them nothing but futile.

Director Clair O'Reilly
Clair Watched on for a few moments after Cyke had returned to the arena, after which she closed the door and set about making her way upstairs. She didn't have far to go, not far at all actually but she made her way slow and relaxed. heels striking the floor every few seconds and echoing near and far. Today was her day off, after all, she had no meetings scheduled, no phone calls to make and best of all she had no papers to write up.

Today she could do everything at her own pace and enjoy watching the task she had set for the teams today. With a soft smile on her face, Clair slowly moved around her final corner and the twin sliding doors of mission control began to part. Slowly revealing not only herself to those within but vice versa. Everyone seemed to be present and the cow girl was already on high alert, watching the match unfold without giving even a seconds notice to the scrap taking place behind her.

With a soft sigh, Clair's smile was gone as well as her patience. Which of course resulted in a shoot being let loose. The gun she was holding was as previously mentioned a desert eagle. Fifty calibre rounds were what it took and as such, it should come as no surprise that the bullet fired became instantly lodged in the reinforced roof of the room. The loud bang of the gun was more like the roar of a cannon and the sharp ping of the collision echoed through the room. The amalgamation of several loud noises surely wreaking havoc on the wolf girl's ears. It was with this that Clair hoped to end the sparce, she didn't want anyone exerting themselves before the fight. Afterwards, they were free to do as they wished. After the echoing had stopped and most eyes were focused on her Clair holstered her gun and sighed once again before saying "First the squirrel tries to abandon his fight now I have two of you at each other's throats.... I mean seriously can you all just get a grip on yourselves and sit quietly? I had to use shock collars on you as kids to keep you in line, do I really need to go down that root again?" Clair spoke as if she was addressing a bunch of unruly kids yet her eyes were dead and cold, as if ready to kill on the slightest provocation. With all that said Clair moved to a seat at the end of the table and swung around to view the screens. Not bothering to give those behind her a second thought.

Zerili - 20 - Wolf Girl
Zerili felt Alfonse move next to her, she sighed as he told her not to waste her energy on this man. "You're....right...." Before she got up though the director shot off her gun, "What the hell!!!" She yelled holding her ears, her golden eyes glaring at the director. Her eyes grew cold, "I'd rather have the damn shock collar..." She muttered under her breath.

Karlos - 19 - Lone Lion
Karlos flinched as well when the gun was fired. He quickly shifted to his human form, hoping to stop any other obscene noises. He glanced at Zerili who yelled, her ears pressed flat against her heard and her tail wrapped around her leg. He stood and shook himself trying to get his hearing back. Glancing over to Alfonse, "Thanks for the help little frog." He said with a grin rubbing his throat. Zerili's grip had been tighter than she had known.

Ryker nodded to Aurelia, his gaze wandering back to the combatants. It appeared as though Priscilla had won, which meant he was up next. He could already begin to feel his adrenaline levels rising in anticipation, as though he was a soldier across the no-man's-land. He had decided that he would shift before the match started, but he would do that in privacy. Personally, he found the task slightly painful as feathers sprouted from beneath his skin and his legs elongated and his kneecaps bent backward. He also found it easier to perform said shifting when no eyes were on him.

"Good luck, then. I believe both of you are evenly matched. If I'm not mistaken, you both take on feline forms. Power against lithe prowess - I look forward to it." Ryker's dark gaze flicked toward two of his teammates, Zerili and Karlos. His eyes narrowed, but as he began to step closer to intervene, the Director made her grand entrance. He didn't flinch as a bullet was fired and words were spoken, but his stare remained on the two.

He was silent for a moment, contemplating his next move. The Director was not to be trifled with, but those two were his responsibility. He should have taken charge of the situation. Ryker's eyes grew icy as they bore into the two, but he opted to exit quietly to the room where he would get ready to enter the arena.

Once there, Ryker let down his hair, which immediately began to stiffen and form into individual feathers. His height remained the same, but his proportions began to change to that of his shifted form's. Larger feathers grew along his arms, and his legs grew scaly and thin. His feet elongated into claws, each tipped with a deadly sharp talon.

~~~
Fawn jumped at the sound of the bullet, which whizzed past her head. She stared at the shell as it came to a stop on the floor, a lump catching in her throat. It might as well have just killed her then, because she knew Ryker was dangerous. Sure, the rules were "no killing", but Ryker always seemed to do what he wanted. He was always on good terms with the Director and never seemed to get in trouble. Fawn, on the other hand, was always berated for being too soft and holding back from her potential.
She could feel herself shifting, even though she didn't want to. Her face rapidly widened and sprouted soft, downy feathers. Her eyes filled with black pupils as her hands disappeared in wings that grew covered in dull brown. If she had been able to, her face would have grown a bright red, and she ducked from her seat to a more secluded corner of the room. She wasn't ready to enter the arena yet - the Director was watching, and if she made a wrong move, she would surely get punished.
"You are indeed correct, but evenly matched seems like...a bit of a stretch," Aurelia said. It was true, on a lot of ways they could be evenly matched, and the cold wouldn't bother either one of them if they shifted, but Aurelia doubted that she would actually do that. Strength wise, Aaron was much stronger than her, but she was durable to make his strength a non reliable factor for an immediate win. So, they would have to rely on wits and cunning in order to gain the upper hand on the other. This was a front on which they weren't nearly as matched. Sure, Aaron was smart, but Aurelia was smarter. boo. boo. Dafyddwilliams14 Dafyddwilliams14
Aaron watched as events unfolded, Aurelia came to join them, Zerili and Karlos begun fighting (Their lack of discipline showing), and Priscilla won (That's my girl!). He became so engrossed in the fight be had almost become numb to the world. He snapped around growling as he heard the loud gunshot pierce the air. He glared at the director before noticing Ryker and Fawn had left for their match, "Good luck to you both, I expect an exciting fight". He looks at the director then to Aurelia, he closes his eyes as they turn red and his brow furrows as he focuses on fighting back his... attitude... as the director calls is. He smiles quickly to Aurelia "Evenly matched yes, except in terms of my power, your intelligence, and one other thing... my stupidity" he quickly walks away not allowing Aurelia to stop him, she was the only one who could, he walks up to stand next to the director, draws his claws, and digs them into the headrest of the chair, "Not disregarding health and safely regulations again are we director? Some one could get hurt if you begin firing off bullets like some thick-skulled cowboy, and I have a feeling it wont be one of us. Just a hunch" Aaron walks away before he does anything more, leaving five large claw marks down the back of the directors chair, the leather split and foam hanging out of each one. His eyes aggressively changing between blue and red, Aaron walks out of the room and quickly makes his way to another spot where he may view the matches without being in the same room as her.
Sariko watched the fight closely, every breath and every movement was analysed and taken into account, her eyes darting over the field rapidly in focus, fingers tapping at the differing screens filling in data as though she saw an entirely different battle to the rest. For her the fight has started long before Cyke finally entered, his mood and opposition all taken into account and as the victory was finally won by a stealth attack by Priscilla the calculations on the board made sense, the statists were in her favour from the very start and the squirrel had failed to over come his weakness.
"Battle end. Both experiments report back up to the situation room imminently or face punishment on account of tardiness, all statists have been placed, the overbearing winner of the fight is Priscilla by use of hybrid ability and acute monitoring skills, overall Cyke's performance was sloppy at best and unneeded movement equaled obviously tactics in a field that could have been made easily to advantage with height and climbing skills, transmission over." the announcement broadcast into the fields as one finger pressed lightly against the ear piece, her body hand't moved nor flinched at the bullet, it wasn't the first time it'd been heard, slowly turning way from the viewing panels and screens her chair once again faced the rest of the group and at the very end the commander, her eyes squinting a little before a light stutter came to her voice and her previously emotionless attitude transferred back into her well known bubbly antics as she fumbled over her words and half fell out of her seat, quicker than usual it seemed, her udder really beginning to cause stress by this point, "N-Next team please prepare for battle!…. I-If you don't mind that is?~…." she mumbled in an awkward fashion, the first part having been stated a tad louder in the silenced room.
Director Clair O'Reilly
Clair remained calm throughout Aaron's outburst, it wasn't something new to her at all and as such, she held quite a bored expression on her face throughout the exchange. It was only after he left that she shifted in the chair, attempting to find a more comfortable position before sporting a smile on her face. She needed no words to explain what was going through her mind. Anyone who took even a quick glimpse at that crooked smile would quickly realise it was nothing short of violent. Whoever failed this task was surely in for a treat now that the director was in a mood. And everyone knew now that Aaron was to thank.
You see the best way to get to Aaron was through others..... And with an outburst like that, he was sure to be getting to and so was his team.
With the match coming to a close Clair bit her lip, unfortunately, it wasn't Priscilla that failed, it was Cyke but Clair was sure someone else on team Omega would fail and the second they did so... well it was best to leave that in the mind of the beholder. With the announcement over and done with Clair let out a sigh, the next match would prove fruitful for her cause either.. but in saying that she was most certainly interested to see how it would go down.
Director's Personal Guard: Valmet Redacted
Valmet was always within close proximity of the Director, she was after all the personal guard of the woman. And had been for as long as she could remember, literally. Valmet as a person was much like the director, sadistic and straight to the point. open to violence and fond of weaponry and the use of it. She, however, was much more fond of blades. Knives in particular. Quick on her feet and more deadly than a black widow, Valmet was perhaps the one person Clair treated as another human being as opposed to a tool. And well that's not to say she didn't to that often as well. But for the most part, Valmet was treated with respect and that was the scary thing. Just what kind of person would the director respect, just how strong was this woman really? There were of course rumours but in the end, only the squad leaders really knew.
Valmet was laying again the door frame of the room and only motioned to move once Aaron had left the room and the doors had shut behind him. She shot the man a stare that could kill and with his keen sense he of course came to a stop. Upon doing so Valmet clicked her tongue with frustration and said "Damn it, I really thought for a second you'd lose it. Give me a good excuse to kick five shades of black and blue into you before Clair got a chance to punish you."
With that said Valmet turned and grinned at the man her left-hand reaching back into her pocket to grab what could only be a knife "Go On do it! Lose it! Go primal. I'll cut you down where you stand and put an end to your constant disobedience! DO IT!"
Priscilla sighed in relief as the combat was over. She could finally get out of this cold and watch the fights for once. She scurried back into her pre combat room and grabbed a jacket before putting it on and beginning to walk back to the briefing room. That was when she happened to spot Aaron and the directors bodyguard, valmet, staring each other down in the hallway. "E-excuse me...w-whats going on here?" She asks while standing behind Aaron since he blocked her path. She could easily climb the wall, but her heart was beating a million beats per second (not literally) and she just wanted to warm up and relax.
As Ryker was warming up, he heard a beep across the speakers, and Sariko’s voice soon followed, saying that he and his opponent should head inside. Not missing a beat, he reached out with a scaled hand to press a button on the wall. A doorway opened with a hiss, and he began blinking in the bright light that was reflected by the snow. He stepped into the arena, and his feathers puffed out as a gust of snowy wind blew past him. There was more than enough of that to get him off the ground, but the real struggle was finding a way to tame the rough and random gusts.
The feathers that formed his crest flattened against his head as he trudged forward, finding way to higher ground. He hopped atop a large boulder and assessed his surroundings, which were a mostly flat plain. There was, however, a pocket of fir trees on one side, which he could use to his advantage. The snow which had been disturbed only moments before by Priscilla and Cyke was now pristine and new, as if it was untouched.
Ryker’s eyes shifted to the panel of glass high above him on the wall, where everyone would be watching. Any moment now, when Fawn entered, Sariko would start the match, and the battle would begin. Even now, Ryker began turning over attack methods in his mind, trying to predict the first move that Fawn would make. She was timid, which meant she would most likely go for something defensive. The grove of trees, then, was probably where she would start, if she didn’t take to the skies first.
Hearing Sariko brough Fawn out of her little pity-party, and she sullenly trudged down to the prep room. She had already seen Ryker leave, which meant he was waiting outside. She was in no rush to follow suit, but then she remembered the stern and emotionless face of the Director. It was better to do what she wanted than to go through one of her “sessions”. Fawn’s elbow still ached from the last time she had slept in. She was amazed she hadn’t gotten punished for this time, seeing how late she had been.
Her shifting process had completed, which left Fawn covered head-to-talon in thick mousy feathers. Her face had widened into a heart-like shape, and her eyes and ears were now more sensitive than ever. She could hear the voices of everyone in the operations room, which sounded as though she was right next to them.
With a brittle sigh, Fawn stumbled into the arena, and her feet dragged in the snow. In her shifted form, she found it very difficult to walk, let alone run, which meant she would have to take to the air as soon as the match started. As she felt the wind ruffle her feathers, however, a thrill of excitement ran through her. She had always had the primal joy of flying free, especially when there were winds to ride on. If she didn’t have to fight, she might have simply flown about, enjoying raw thrill of it.
Alfonse Atwood
Alfonse nodded in approval upon hearing Zerili’s response. Of course he was right, this little fight was stupid and useless after all. He didn’t really like seeing anger overwhelm his older teammate, as it brought nothing but trouble for herself and everyone else. Sadly, Alfonse’s attempt at disrupting the fight seemed to have happened too late, because the facility’s staff was about to notice it.
The young experiment was still in a state of waking up, slightly drowsy and unaware of his surroundings as his eyes were tied to the conflict that had recently happened. As he was about to get up, Alfonse was surprised by a loud, painful noise that made any sense of fatigue and exhaustion within his body suddenly disappear. The unexpected gunshot shocked the poor boy, his head rapidly moving towards the source of the sound after his body jumped up slightly. The slightest presence of fear could be spotted in his expression as he saw the director stand in the room, closely following her words as he seemingly froze in place. It was needless to say that Alfonse wasn’t the biggest fan of the person who had quite easily taken the attention of pretty much everyone in the room. She was scary and made the boy feel weak and even powerless even though he could kill her within a minute given the right circumstances. He would never even attempt to do so, though, as it would most definitely lead to his own death.
Alfonse had pretty much ignored the loud yell of the wolf in front of him, but the words she muttered afterwards made the urge to tell her to shut up extremely hard to resist. Still, he managed partially thanks to the dumb lion speaking to him/jokingly thanking him. Alfonse took his own advice to not waste any energy on this, so he simply rolled his eyes after giving the adult a well deserved glare and telling him and Zerili to "just get up, please."
Soon after the shots were fired, Alfonse caught himself mindlessly staring at the other team leader as he, much like Zerili, decided to make a mess out of the situation. Alfonse didn’t understand where they got the bravery/stupidity from to talk back, because he sure didn’t have that. He was more worried about the mere presence of the woman of whom he believed singlehandedly caused for the disappearance of an entire team. Sure, it might have just been a rumour, but it most definitely wasn’t one to ignore. Even if it didn’t happen to be the truth, there were plenty of other reasons not to show such stupid behaviour to the person in charge of the entire experiment. Most people in the room however, didn’t seem to care that much.
Having previously heard the anouncement of the 2nd round starting, Alfonse claimed a spot near the glass to watch the battle. He was hoping that Fawn would absolutely demolish the teamleader for various reasons. Besides, he thought it was best for him not to interfere with the current drama, using the battle as a means of distracting himself. "Please win this owlgirl" he mumbled to himself, his eyes focusing on his teammate as he eagerly waited for it to start.
As he walked out Aaron gripped his wrist, he could feel the change coming, the white and black hair begging to sprout from the back of his hand. The second Aaron was outside the door he stopped in his tracks, a cold glare and sadistic smile welcomed him. "Valmet" he growled, his voice contorting as he fought the shift. If there was anyone whom he hated as much as the director it was the woman standing in front of him, this was not going to help him. Beads of sweat begun to form on his brow, he was in agony. Shifting was painful enough without it being forced upon the host. The others were beginning to notice the spat as Valmet threatened him and reached for her knife, "Go On do it! Lose it! Go primal. I'll cut you down where you stand and put an end to your constant disobedience! DO IT!". Aaron gritted his teeth through the pain, she must have a death wish, he could tear her limb from limb, not without losing his own life in the process albeit, but with the mood he was in he didn't care.
"E-excuse me...w-whats going on here?" Aaron heard Priscilla's voice call behind him, "Nothing Priscilla, go inside. NOW" his breathing was now laboured and followed by low guttural growls. He immediately regretted the way he had spoken to her. He looked over his shoulder, smiled at her, his eyes swapping between blood red and sapphire blue, "Sorry Priscilla, nothings wrong we're just having a chat. Go enjoy your rest, you made me proud". He needed to get out of here before someone got hurt. Aaron began making his way towards his room, clenching his fist as his claws came out of their own accord, they dug into his palm and blood dripped from his hand. Whispering to Valmet between growls he says "You want the beast? You'll get it, but if you lay a finger on one of them I will tear your god damned throat out with my teeth. That I promise you". He walks off, his shoulders hunched and a small trail of blood following him as he made the journey towards his room.
