My Interest Check
After, happily ever after what happens? Before once upon a time who were they? All fairytale characters need to be somewhere; they’re people after all. Well, all of these fantastical characters were here in Satoria. Where all fairytale characters and mythology characters collect and live. Unlike some people believe, these people aren’t trapped in the stories they were born into. It’s 20XX after all; they should be allowed to wander around freely. They have lives aside from their stories, jobs, relationships, families, and all that it entails. Life for these people goes about just as you might imagine in your world. Although there are a few main differences from what you've been told. The stories are not exactly the same; each one is at least slightly different. People have a tendency to twist things up.

So I mean this to be a sort of slice of life RP, but for fairytale characters. I don't think I made it quite clear, but I'd like your characters to be the children/descendants of the original fairytale characters. I think this would allow you to branch off from the original character concept however you'd like. The characters I have reserved for myself are in the next act; as well as what I expect from your characters. It is your choice whether or not to keep the original characters alive depending on how old your character is.

Another very important thing about this RP, is that I want the stories to be twisted from the originals. They can be twisted as little or as much as you'd like. As long as they somewhat follow the original tale. These fairytale stories can be taken from any version of the fairytale that you'd like. (Yes this includes Disney versions, although I would prefer the Grimm tales of some) I do keep saying fairytales but I'd also like this to include other kinds of stories like Myths, folklore, and any other stories you'd like. (I'd like to include stories from all over the world, so don't be afraid to suggest any tales) Any stories are okay, but please ask first so I can approve them. Also include which characters descendants you'd like to play, and how you'd like to twist the story. There's many details to this RP, but I'd also like these characters to be aware of retellings of their stories. So please be prepared to do a little research on the tales you choose. If there aren't any retellings; that's okay. You can make up your own if you'd like.

Please feel free to expand on this as you'd like; this is just the minimum for characters.
Once I accept characters I will add a heart reaction and add them to the taken list.

For the most part, they just go by Ariiasq Han, though they have the tendency to make up many odd names on the spot. Their "true" name for a multitude of reasons, remains unknown.

⥽Fairytale details⥼

In the original tale, the fairy queen was out... well, not quite outwitted so much as out-annoyed by the oft-drunk Larry, having been hassling a farmer for residing on fairy land. After being bested, the queen agreed to stop bothering the poor farmer so long as Larry (or Lawrence, as she called him) lived.
⥽Twist⥼
But see, that's not quite how the tale goes. It never is, is it? Of course, the fairy queen hassled the farmer who built so rudely on her land, but the farmer was a smart fellow who took one look at the mystic nonsense and began searching for a solution. Enter "Larry" Lawrence Hoolihan, the finest piper to step foot on fae grounds. A down-to-earth, courageous fellow, if somewhat ill-taught in the academics department. The farmer and he shared a pint, and that's when he learned of the man's blight. So, like any upright boy raised around farms, he shrugged, packed his pipes, and agreed to help as he could.

Every night atop that hill he'd play himself some music until the fairies would appear, and every night they would trick one of them into agreeing to never come back with mischievous intent. So it's said that he met the queen of the fairies, and struck by his music and the wit he showed in besting hers, she stayed that night without any jokes or fae pranks. As she did the next night, and the next until the hill no longer held dangers for the farmer, just so long as Lawrence charmed the queen of the fae.

Far later, when they were both older and less inclined to drunken parties and malicious pranks respectively (read; after they broke free from their stories), they settled in the land of the fairies (presumably somewhere in the mainland of Satoria) and had three children, the youngest of which being Ariiasq, who, while they inherited much of their mother's shapeshifting ability and their father's wit, wasn't fond of the cramped lifestyle being confined to the land of the fae brought. So, in agreeing to be formally schooled in the rest of the land of stories, they left.
⥽Special items⥼
An unenchanted set of dice
One very much enchanted set of human glamour earrings that just makes it easier for them to keep human form.
⥽House⥼
They currently live in a decently well-known university in Freybury, sharing a dorm with another student but generally wandering as they please.

⥽Personality
⥽Strengths⥼

Arii inherited most of their traits from their mother, like shapeshifting (though their ability to replicate other people is... lacking), floating on command, generally being ethereal and mysterious, etc. However, if asked, they will often say that their most useful ability is a power they inherited from their father. The power to lie. Yes, see, Arii can lie, and they lie quite a lot for someone who has been raised in fairy society, often taking great joy in tricking people with harmless, often stupid pranks like saying something completely absurd.

Other than that, Ariiasq is a damn good gambler, and will often try to get others to play poker for sweets.
⥽Weaknesses⥼
Pure iron (read; not an alloy) burns like a fire might to them, their shapeshifting ability only works about half the time, and only when they're not paying attention to what they're doing (hence the glamour necklace), they cannot cook to save their life, and they're built about as sturdy as a wet sheet of tissue paper. A strong breeze could knock them over. They can also be, at times, quite dense for things like... how to people. In general.
⥽Habits⥼
Chewing on or generally mutilating the tips of their fingers, ripping labels off bottles, flapping their hands, not looking at people when they speak, and making strange noises or doing strange things.
⥽Likes⥼
Heat, being around people, doing things, swimming, joking, not being in a serious conversation, gambling, singing
⥽Dislikes⥼
Serious conversations, conflict, cold, sitting in one place without doing something, responsibilities, tedious work, bugs crawling on them, eating, drinking
⥽Fears⥼
Mirrors (specifically being sucked into a mirror or something coming out of a mirror), weird humanoid things (zombies, mostly, but visible ghosts are in here too), failing in their academic endeavors, being stuck in the fairy world forever
⥽Flaws⥼
A complete inability to be serious for any amount of time, even when its needed, they freeze up under pressure, none of their fae abilities are reliable, they have the strength of a small worm, they cannot physically stop thinking about something once it's caught their attention, and they have a curfew

Barnaby Beaufort 'Beau' Wolf

⥽Parent(s)⥼
Father: Bertrand B. Wolf – CEO of Dark Forest enterprises - Living
Mother: Ethel Whitecoat – Freelance Witch - Deceased

⥽Name⥼
Barnaby Beaufort Wolf

⥽Nickname(s)⥼
Beau, or Wolf, for those who are not familiar with him.

⥽Age⥼
24

⥽Gender⥼
Male

⥽Sexuality⥼
Bi

⥽Occupation⥼
Beau works for his father's company, a procurer and seller of magical artifacts. Beau has little magic of his own, but he knows a great deal about the magic in Satoria. He is usually an agent sent to cut deals and acquire goods.

⥽Visage ((Written description because I'm tired of sifting through AI art and don't have any time to draw.))
Barnaby B. Wolf is not terribly tall, but enough to be imposing to most. His lean frame is covered in a flawless three-piece, custom-tailored suit. He has one for every day of the week and they range from midnight black, to deep blue or grey, and if he’s feeling adventurous, even pinstriped. The hem of the jackets are all embroidered in fine gold thread, detailing patterns of leaves found only in the Dark Forest. He has an antique gold pocket watch in his breast pocket and a gold clip of a lamb pinned to the lapel.

Beau’s face is handsome to a point, but years of practicing a condescending and foul-hearted expression has withdrawn some of it. His face is angled and regal, his hair is black as night, parted at the side, and is the wildest thing about his person. It sticks out at odd angles and always seems to look windblown no matter what he does to it in the morning to tame it. Beau’s eyes are storm-grey and topped with thin but expressive eyebrows. His skin is tanned and his complexion unblemished. Overall he cuts an intimidating figure in nearly all circles.

  • Fairytale details
Everyone knows Little Red Riding Hood. The Big Bad Wolf is the archetype of every darkness that lurks deep in the woods. The dangers of the unknown, of trusting sweet-tongued strangers, and not seeing the devil at your door. Beau’s fairytale is this: a young woman goes to visit her grandmother in the woods, a wolf gets there first, devours her grandmother and pretends to be the frail old woman to fool the young woman just long enough to devour her too. The maiden is saved by a handsome woodsman, who kills the wolf and cuts him open. A happy ending…for everyone but the wolf.

    Twist
The truth of the tale, is the wolf was never the villain of that particular story. It was the woodsman, a longstanding friend of the old woman in the wood. He turned on her when he spied the beautiful granddaughter, his heart filled with something dark. The wolf had been nearby when he heard the screams. Without thinking he pounced on the man and drove him off, because who would not fear the greatest demon of the dark forest? The biggest mistake the wolf made that day…was letting the woodsman live.

⥽Fairytale details⥼

In the tale of Tiana Dr. Facilier put a curse on Prince Naveen and turned him into a frog so that he could have a taste of freedom without mentioning the frog part. Prince Naveen then kissed Tiana in his frog form, turning her into a frog. Skipping all the adventures they had in the middle of the story. Dr. Facilier was trying to make another deal with Tiana to make her famous and return to being a human, but she refused breaking his talisman and ended up killing him.
⥽Twist⥼
In all actuality, Charlotte asked to bargain with Dr. Facilier so that Tiana couldn’t catch the eye of Prince Naveen. When he made Prince Naveen a frog Charlotte decided to wash her hands clean of him, acting like she didn’t know about the whole ordeal until he told her that Prince Naveen needed to get kissed to turn back into a human. Charlotte paid Dr. Facilier to use his shadow demons to find Prince Naveen which he did, Charlotte found out that when she kissed Prince Naveen, he didn’t love her, so she wanted Dr. Facilier to kill Tiana and Naveen. When he was trying to warn Tiana, she didn’t believe him and thought that he wanted to control her, so she broke his Talisman and he disappeared.
⥽Special items⥼
Anaisa has her father's tooth necklace and his mask talisman and made it into a pin. She has her mother’s necklace that’s a clear ball with something that seems like smoke in the center with stars.
⥽House⥼
She lives in a big house (just a bit smaller than a mansion) in Coastal Cliffs just a few minutes from the main cliff. The dark pigment surrounding her house makes it seem darker than it is. It’s usually lighter at night due to lanterns that ignite at night.
⥽Personality⥼
⥽Strengths⥼

Anaisa doesn’t mind if she’s a villain or not, all that matters to her is that her father and mother are okay. She’s smart when it comes to hard situations. Anaisa holds herself in dignity even though her father might not be the biggest villain. She makes sure not to lose her head in certain situations so that she can process things properly.
She’s a good friend when it comes down to it, she doesn’t like to sugarcoat things so that you’ll see the situation for what it is.
⥽Weaknesses⥼
She’s extremely blunt, she CANNOT beat around the bush. She hates, loathes, dislikes, and is appalled by frogs (As ironic as it is-). She doesn’t like being put on the spot due to being easily flustered. She’s also scared of heights.
⥽Habits⥼
When Anaisa is flustered or nervous, she’ll mess with her father’s tooth necklace. She always goes on a walk from 3-4 to get some fresh air. Anaisa also likes to crochet and/or sing in her free time.

    Fairytale details
Most prominently the Fairy Godmother is seen in the tale of Cinderella. Where a child is abused by her evil stepmother and stepsisters; she wishes to go to a ball and Fairy Godmother shows up to help her. She makes a carriage and makes her an outfit to go to the ball. The spell is broken by midnight but the Fairy Godmother leaves the shoes for her. She is not heard from in that story again.
Although this is true, the Fairy Godmother shows up in several other tales. Tales like Sleeping beauty, The rose and the ring, The magician's nephew, and more.

    Twist
The Fairy Godmother is fair and kind to all. But there is a part of the story that is so often forgotten; magick cannot be given without a price. There is always a price to pay for miracles. It is not like the Fairy Godmother is greedy, it's just how things work. But she never asked for much; something of little value emotionally but high in monetary value. Small things like necklaces and things of the sort.
But that's not where the story ends, no, there's much more to the truth. After the Fairy Godmother helped Cinderella and she married the prince; they went to find her. After a long while they found her, and kept her captive to do their bidding. She would do anything they wanted and got food in return. It was a cruel life to live before she was freed.

    Special items
A wand she inherited from her mother - It is a simple blue wand but it has sentimental value
An enchanted ring; this causes characters around her to feel at ease and comfortable. In some cases, if she so chooses so, it puts characters to sleep.
A blue shawl that she keeps wrapped around her, and in almost always when she's in public over her head

    House
This can be found towards the center of the major city of Satoria. Just to the left of the city hall.
    This contains an image of:

    Personality
    Strengths
Sidhe loves characters, but she doesn't trust them much. That being said she is a very compassionate person who cares deeply about being fair and just. To follow in the footsteps of her mother; someone who helped characters as much as they could. As much as she can, but sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good. She is able to make the best decisions because she cares but doesn't have any attachments.
    Weaknesses
Again, they don't trust characters. Sidhe only ever really relies on themselves and Whitley. This can be troublesome when others want to be her friend, or more than friend. They tend to keep characters at arms reach to avoid any unnecessary attachments. This does cause for some conflict sometimes.

    Habits
Sidhe always keeps her head covered in public; she never really explains why other than saying "respect". When walking around they tend to mumble to themselves, and when caught she just smiles and laughs it off. Another thing Sidhe does is smell her food before eating it, this includes drinks.

    Likes

    Morning coffee

    Dislikes

    Sports
    Hospitals
    Surprises

    Fears
Sidhe fears that she'll be used like her mother was. That is probably why they keep characters at arms reach.

    Flaws
Sidhe can be very paranoid; she makes sure that all her doors are locked and things like that. She also makes sure that she knows everything that happens in town.
This can cross into another line when Sidhe actually likes and forms a relationship with someone.

Sabrina Oberhauser
The Motley Minstrel
Parents
Sarah Cunningham (Mother)
Magnus Oberhauser (Father)

Age
23
Nicknames
Minnie (Stage Persona)
Gender/Sexulaity
Female, Pansexual
Occupation
Amateur Musician
⥽Appearance⥼
Known for a striking and often flamboyant appearance, Sabrina has a lithe and agile figure, adding to a natural grace and strength while she performs. A slender frame and average height accentuate her over the top outfits and style. With a tight shock of hair in any colour but her natural one, Sabrina embodies mischief and boundless energy in every step of her life. and upper class. As the Minstrel, she's dressed in a dazzling pattern of red, blue and white, ruffled sleeves, a unique twist on the classic harlequin attire. She also wears a conical hat with 2 points and pale makeup adding an elegant touch to her outfit. Outside of her musical work, her outfits are entirely devoid of the reds and blues of her performing, an attempt to distance her from her musical persona. Blacks, greens and purples are common in her everyday attire.

⥽Fairytale⥼
⥽Fairytale⥼: The Pied Piper is a more obvious fairytale than most, embodying morales of keeping promises, paying what you should, and not following strangers, no matter how good their music. The tale of the Pied Piper is about a man who solved a rat problem for a price, then when the town were unwilling or unable to pay, took the children in compensation instead.

⥽Twist: It's a lot easier to solve a problem you create, which is what the piper did. Every town has it's rats, but for an infestation of that scale, they had to be guided there by someone. The con had worked in 4 other towns before Hamelin, and was all set to work again. Until, instead of offering the coin he had requested, the town's leaders willingly offered their children instead. Encahnted by the offer, he took them away from the town, and was rightfully villified by the town for his actions. In his mind, no one so willing to give away the children deserved them in the first place.

⥽Posessions⥼
Items: A single guitar pick, bright yellow on one side, bright red on the other. Though unrequired, Sabrina channels her magic through it to create her enchanting music, creating a multitude of effects. Joy, Sorrow, Fury, all transmittable through her music. The pick doesn't have to remain a pick either, and can transform into any number of musical instruments (Drumsticks, reeds, etc).

Home: A true modern bard, Sabrina lives on the road, trading songs and performances for a place to crash. When that can't happen, Sabrina has a modest house boat moored at the bottom of the Coastal Cliffs, that belongs to her father. Sabrina can usually crash wherever she likes, unfurling tents as a worse case scenario and camping wherever she happens to stop, much to the chagrin of law enforcement. Her lifestyle allows her to dance between her mom's home in Freybury and her calling in the Coastal Cliffs alongside the other more traditional villains. Freybury calls to her heart, but the league calls to her ancestery.
⥽Personality⥼
⥽Strengths⥼

Above everything else, Sabrina loves to perform, entertain and make people happy - she has a knack for turning the everyday into playful and comedic acts. This love of speading joy makes her fun to be around, if a little naive. Ever optimistic and cracking jokes, she does her best to prove that she is shaped like a friend to everyone she meets. It's pretty hard to hate her once you get to know her.

⥽Weaknesses⥼

As a villain (though a little softer than some of her compatriots), Sabrina struggles to know where she fits in this world, a villain or not. She is conscious of the opinions of others, and tries to prove she is a good person, sometimes a little too hard. Coupled with a skewed moral compass, she has no trouble using her music to influence a crowd, and sometimes that means hearing someone like you and not yelling you're a monster.
⥽Likes⥼

Camping: Sleeping out in the wild has a way of inspiring
Music: Speaks for itself
Costume Design: You think she bought that outfit in a store somewhere?
Festivals: Sabrina loves imersing herself in festivities.
Animals: Some of her old man's talents and skills rubbed off on her

⥽Dislikes⥼

Routine: Sabrina can't stay still for too long, getting restless quickly.
Injustice: Sabrina hates how villains are treated at large, but also villainy itself.
Negative Energy: People who bring negativity into her perfromances really kill her mood.
Meat: She's a vegetarian, though doesn't extend this dislike to those who eat it.
⥽Fears⥼

Despite all her talents, Sabrina still gets Stage Fright. She just pushes past it as best as she can.

⥽Flaws⥼

Sabrina can only perform as Minnie, not herself. Were she to perform as herself, she worries she wouldn't have any respite from being "The new Pied Piper" anymore. So performing in her getup and mask has become a neccesary crutch she relies on.

Peter Pan, a boy who never grows up, takes the children Wendy, John, and Michael to magical Neverland, to go on adventures with fairies and mermaids and its other natives. However, the pirate Captain Hook kidnaps Wendy and tries to kill his nemesis, Peter Pan.

Twist
Leave it to the fae to turn the truth on its head. Hook WAS a pirate, he DID bring terror to Nederland, and he DID want to kill Peter Pan... he may have been a fearsome and vengeful man, but he was an honorable and heroic one. Though he came to the island looking for treasure, he ended up finding horrors: The Unseelie Court of Neverland, a vile group of fae that kidnapped children from around the world. The deceptively violent mermaids. And the "Redskins"... natives that removed their skins to the red flesh underneath, and put on the skins of animals to change into them.

Seeing the plight of the kidnapped children, Captain Hook and his loyal crew fought desperately to try and recover the lost boys, and kill the highest of that fae court... Peter Pan. Despite being essentially trapped in time, he would eventually get the better of Peter Pan, and escaped with the woman who would become the love of his life, Wendy Darling, as well as the rest of the lost boys.

Bitter about his humiliating defeat, Peter Pan, and his court spread lies about what really happened. Or perhaps, from their perspective, it wasn't lies at all.

Special items
•Griffin: A sword made of cold iron that was gifted to him by his father. It was created during the Era of Change when weapons were needed to fight the fae and their magic. While simple in appearance, the sword is masterfully made, and would be considered by many to be better off in a museum.

Harrier: A fanciful curving pistol designed after a pirates flintlock. But rather than gunpowder, uses a salt based cartridge technology.

•Enchanted Spyglass: <pending>

House
• Coastal Cliffs Lighthouse

Personality
Strengths
•Jim Hook is a well read young man, and has studied much to follow in the footsteps of his parents. One such focus being of the nature of this fairytale reality.
• Carries an air of respect and refinement.
• Observant and quick-witted.
• Athletic and durable.
• Adventurous and brave.
• Dependable
• Adept schemer.

Weaknesses
• Aggressive, with a might makes right view of the world.
•Volatile to insults of his parents.
•Brash
•Outward disdain towards fairykind.
•Will show an honorable side even when it isn't in his best interest.
•Has a sword, is not afraid to use it.
•Proud
•Hates being bored and will find anything to fill his time. Anything.

Habits
• Can't fight the urge to play a tune on a piano or accordian after a couple drinks.
• Smokes a pipe. Fine tobacco and a cup of tea are a swell combination.
•He often rests a hand on his sword hilt, but it is just a casual gesture.
•Picks up trash or debris where he sees it, an unconscious habit from making sure ships were I'm uncultured and span.
•Always keeps a handkerchief on his person.

Fears
That he will never get to have the sorts of adventures that his father and mother did, in and out of their story.

Flaws
•Jim has a rather harsh view of the fae and their like. His families experiences with the unseelie variety has made him view all with the same lens. They are dishonest, backstabbing, callous, manipulative, and without morality. While not as bad as faeries, mermaids he still sees as a troublesome species.

•While Jim may be an honorable young man, honorable doesn't necessarily mean good or nice. He is still the son of a pirate, after all. And that comes with certain... creative liberties in interpretations of the law.

•Has little faith in the lasting peace of Satoria.

•Disagrees strongly with the cautious approach to power and technology in Satoria. And believes that more aggressive expansion is not only possible, but should be encouraged.
