Realistic or Modern Shattered GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story] (Always Open)

Lisa Fleming - Hale National Bank

Lisa hesitated upon seeing the message on her screen. As much as she'd like to take credit entirely for this idea in this future... it seemed wise to keep her identity a secret, at least for the time being. The last thing she would want is for someone to find out about all this, and for her to get into serious trouble - she would hardly be much use to this city if she was demoted.

"Hello, who exactly I am is... unimportant. Just know that I intend to represent GLASS, and that I have a proposition for you. One which I believe would benefit the both of us, as well as the good of this city."

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS HQ Interrogation Room

Alexis rubbed her eyes as she sat down in a chair opposite Jacob, a steel table separating them. As much as she just wanted to go home and get some proper sleep, the nap on the way here had given her enough energy to keep going for the rest of the day. And with so many resources being dedicated to dealing with the two confirmed ARK prisoners, she'd volunteered to deal with this other intruder who'd cropped up soon after they'd arrived - they didn't know what her powers were just yet, so it was good to have someone who could nullify them on hand.

She placed her jar of squits on the table, accidentally spilling some as she did so, letting them crawl off in all directions. Oops. Looked like she was more groggy from earlier than she thought she'd been. Good thing she brought them then - she was going to need all the energy she could get. She scooped a small handful out, and poured them into her mouth, the sweet taste spreading over her tongue. She then booted up her laptop, and turned to the tied-up girl.

"So... let's start with the basics. Who are you?"

Alexander Rooker
Mr.Chang's bathroom ---> Limousine

He went out in a hurry saying goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Chang and going into the limo to get back to the underworld. Reading that it was a GLASS operative he easily deduced what was going on. With the slow response of GLASS to any crime, their lack of skilled professionals and the huge array of deadly supervillains, it was clear being one of the most known vigilantes in the city that they were trying to hire him.

The AI without him even needing to say already knew what to do. Because every laptop nowadays has a webcam, it accessed that to see Lisa's face. It would then use that reference to find the most matching face structure from the database he has. The AI would then send to Alex that the person he was contacting has an 81% chance of being the GLASS sub-commander Lisa Fleming. He wasn't certain but he decided to bluff this time. He typed in "Miss Fleming, it is my duty as the red devil to ensure the safety of the city and so knowledge is my power. I know what you want, and I think I've been facing some threats not even I can face so I figure some help would be nice. I'll contact you soon."

and then the chatroom shut down suddenly, the black screen disappearing and everything returning to normal.

Jacob observed the women who entered the room, the woman looked fairly average and Jacob was ready to clear this whole misunderstanding up right away. Before she knew it some bugs had managed to get on the table from a container the woman had with her, Jacob used to have no problems with bugs but ever since she started running faster than most cars bugs became a huge problem to her. When Alexis ate a bug a shiver ran down Jacob's spine as she looked away a little bit then turned back towards the woman blowing some of her long brown hair out of her face. Alexis pulled out a laptop and turned towards her asking who she was "Jacob" she replied quickly wanting to clear this whole thing up but she decided to wait until another question was asked to talk again.

Lisa Fleming - Hale National Bank

Lisa had just enough time to read the final message before the window closed down entirely, and she was left staring at her simple desktop. Fascinating... whoever this person was, they may been even greater asset than she'd first thought. She didn't know how they'd figured out her identity, but they'd done it a heck of a lot faster than GLASS ever could have. If they had access to that kind of technology...

She snapped out of it as she stood up to head back to the HQ. From the vague reports and rumours she'd heard, this person possessed technology that was undoubtedly one-of-a-kind, possibly with billions being spent to produce it. It was unlikely that they'd ever be able to mass-produce such things any time soon. But much more feasible was getting and giving crucial information from and to this Devil, and when the time came... for her to have contact with someone willing to do what needed to be done.

Things were finally starting to get moving. She picked up her laptop, and headed out of the building and back into her car.

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS HQ Interrogation Room

She raised a single eyebrow at the girl's response. And she really was just a girl - she couldn't have been, what, like 20? She didn't exactly seem the criminal type... but then again, neither did Cinder at a glance.

"Full name, please," she asked in a subtly patronizing tone. She wasn't normally impatient... but, well, it'd been a long day. She pinched a few more squits out of the jar, placing them on her tongue as before. She was gonna need the sugar boost to get through this if it carried on at this pace. Both her elbows were now on the table, as it became clear this could be difficult.

The squits that'd escaped earlier now started plunging off the edge of the table, and couple landing on Alexis's lap and likely on Jacob too. She paid them no attention, though - they were light enough that she couldn't even feel them.

When the woman approached by the woman who asked if she could help. Delilah gave her an odd look, but did nothing as she placed her hands over the wound. She winced at little at the strange feeling, but was thankful non the less. The bleeding stopped immediately, and some of the pain filled a little. "Thanks," She muttered, pushing past the woman who had just helped her. It may have seemed a little rude, but oh well. She had better things to take care of. WhipDing WhipDing

Jacob looked away slightly as the woman in front of her started to eat more bugs and a sick feeling began to grow inside of Jacob, watching someone devour the bugs like they were chocolates drove a shiver down her back. Jacob slowly started moving the chair to the left and right every minute or so dodging a bug as it dove into the floor "Jacob Miller, My friends call me Dandy" she replied with a more fast tone hoping to get out of the room before the bugs started to make a home on her body.

GLASS HQ
Lieutenant Manuel Clarke, X-Rank

A moment of cleanup. A few precious moments to get himself in order, that was all that Manuel was granted. A quick change in clothing, switching from his bulletproof vest to his badge-adorned military coat and black gloves, a splash of water or two to get rid of the dirt and grime from his face and to correct his hair some and a chance to cover up the few blemishes that he had suffered, and Manuel was right out at the front gates of GLASS Headquarters, staring into flashing cameras and answering questions to the best of his ability. For the sake of "transparency" and good PR, GLASS had requested one of the field operatives to face the press and, well, to be frank, he had never been one to refuse an order. That did not change that he hated this part of the job.

"Lieutenant Clarke! What of the blast at the docks just earlier today? Word has it that known ARK-associated criminals and GLASS personell were sighted at the site of the incident! Any comments?"

He let a sigh slip, then turned to answer. "It is true that GLASS was conducting an operation at our warehouse this morning. Specifically, the arrest and neutralization of dangerous superpowered criminals. At the moment, I cannot confirm nor deny ARK involvement." After all, while it was practically confirmed that this was an ARK operation, they had yet to be acknowledged by the captured criminals. Who knows, it could just as well simply be Cinder being an unhinged maniac.

"What of the blasts? Did GLASS see it fit to administer use of heavy explosives in this battle?" They were not going to stop anytime soon, were they?

SEAVIEW ROWE PIZZA & DINE
SIMON RISMOND; MK3

"I cannot comment on what we did or did not clear for use during our operation, but GLASS is doing their outmost to follow the laws regarding escalation of force as strictly as we possibly can. Anything that we bring to the field, we carry with us only because it is of outmost importance for our operatives and any nearby civilians' safety." The man on the TV droned on. A dark-haired soldier, adorned with gold, silver and pretty colors, doing his best to hide his annoyance with the press. It was laughable how inconvenienced he was by it all. Of course, anyone of his stature would be hard-pressed to enjoy speaking the truth, would they not? Or as close to the truth as they could muster, anyway.

Seaview Rowe Pizza & Dine was hardly a glamorous establishment. It was cramped, far too hot for the ever-humid Hale and with a faulty air conditioner that rumbled and choked, but did nothing to alleviate the heat coursing out of the twin ovens serving hot meals on a moment's notice. The entire place smelled of grease and cooking meat and Hamid, the older man running the place with his two sons, was paying off one of the local gangs for protection. Simon knew as much. Not that there was anything he could do about it. From a dented TV, the news broadcast showcasing the liar in a fancy uniform was playing, and from a radio behind the register, some cheap pop drivel that he cared little for was playing.

The young man was currently seated at one of the corner tables of the pizzeria, a plate with the remaining crumbs of one of the cheaper pizzas on Hamid's menu was resting. He held his accompanying drink (a half-empty glass of watered-out booze) in one hand, watching the news broadcast with sharp eyes. Ridiculous. The police-state fascists of GLASS came into his city, threw grenades on his docks and killed his fellow citizens, and the sheep of Hale silently let it happen. Ironic, for the City of Thunder, to be so quiet in the face of oppression. But that was the case for majority of humanity, was it not? Weak. Content. As long as their paychecks rolled in, as they could fill their guts with filth and as long as the next episode of America Got fucking Talent aired, they were happy with walking blindfolded, heads down and arms tied behind their back. Not unlike the white-haired man cleaning that table right now, Simon mused. Hamid had been a doctor once, or so he had told Simon. Now he was here, baking pizzas and just barely breaking even, but instead of lashing out as he should, breaking the chains that this rotten nation had put on him, he let himself be subdued and accepted his fate. As such, he was fated to forever be a sheeple. Never to rise above.

Simon was not like Hamid. MK3 was not like Hamid.

As "Lieutenant Clarke" hurled another lie at the screen, clearly well in the know that the idiots watching would buy anything that he said, Simon swept the last of his drink and pulled his chair back with a creak, getting back to his feet. No. Simon was not going to let himself rot away like the rest of the fools of this city. His mind was already moving, gears turning and preparing his next grand act of defiance. Hamid gave some kind of greeting on Simon's way out, but he did not listen, he was occupied with more important things.

Hale was not going to drift to sleep under the polished leather boots of oppression. Simon both loved and hated this city too much to let that happen. No. Hale was going to break its chains, or die screaming.

MK3 would make it so.

Alexander Rooker
The Underworld ---> Glass HQ

After arriving at the underworld, he quickly suits up in his suit and went out in the daylight. He normally would never do this but the situation calls for it. Lucky for him, a projected course would be shown where he can avoid all contact until he reaches his destination: Glass HQ. He arrives sooner than later, appearing at the roof of the building, waiting until he sees Lisa get out of a car and enter the building.

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS Interrogation Room

Alexis ran the name through the GLASS database, searching through thousands of thousands of records in just a few seconds. There were five Jacob Millers in Hale... but, of course, four of them were male. That narrowed it down a bit. She opened up Jacob's entry, and took a quick look over it. Female, aged 18... no relevant criminal record... and the photo matched. She was also a registered superhuman, which made this a little easier. Ah. Super speed. Good thing she was tied up then, eh?

She took an extended look at Jacob. She was quite obviously becoming agitated, squirming around in her seat, which was understandable considering she was restrained. That said... according to her entry, she'd never been suspected of having any kind of contact with ARK, so it was unlikely she was affiliated with them at all - they were just generally smart enough to not run up the side of GLASS HQ with potentially dozens if not hundreds of witnesses. That didn't make her any less dangerous though - they'd had plenty of independent attacks in the past couple of months, and age didn't seem to be a factor at all. Well, she was never going to know what she was doing there unless she asked.

"So... can you explain to me what you were doing on top of a building that is home to the largest military presence in Hale?"

Lisa Fleming - GLASS HQ

Lisa made her way up to her office, putting down her laptop on her desk. She didn't know when this Red Devil was going to contact her again... something that was probably intentional on their part. It could be days before any further progress was made. But that was okay - the important thing was that she'd started the process.

She took a look at her calender, to see what else she had to do today. Evidently no-one had noticed her little excursion, so things would just proceed as normal for now. The only thing she was doing today, though, was processing the new recruits. This was remarkably simply, actually... seeing as they were starving for new C-ranks so bad (especially now), all they really had to do was pass a basic background check. Usually they could be integrated the same day. It wasn't the most secure system... but they made a point of keeping them away from anything sensitive until they'd proved they could be trusted.

Connor Morton "Booster" - GLASS Holding Cell 04

Connor finally awoke, after what could easily have been days for all he knew. He rubbed his head as he lifted himself off the disturbingly clean bed he'd found himself in.

What'd happened? The last thing he really remembered was merging with Cinder. In hindsight, not one of his smarter moves - she might be one of ARK's most notorious, but she was mostly notorious for being incredibly unpredictable and self-serving. Hell, she would've killed him on the spot if she thought she could absorb his powers somehow.

As the world came into focus, it became incredibly clear where he was. He was trapped in a small room with no windows - the only link to the outside world was a large, doubled-layered, transparent door, with an 'airlock' type of structure outside of it. And, of course, outside that were two GLASS guards, standing vigilantly in front of it all.

"Oh, fuck me..."

Jacob "Dandy" Miller

Jacob was sitting in the chair trying to dodge the falling bugs and keep them away while Alexis was typing away at her computer Jacob didn't know what she was looking for but she decided not to ask just to be on the safe side. Jacob looked down at her feet when Alexis asked her what she was doing on the roof of the G.L.A.S.S. HQ building which caused Jacob to smile technically she wasn't on the roof for even a second before she was knocked out and dragged down to the interrogation room she decided it was best to not bring up the wording and just answer her anyways "Well...the entrance was blocked" Jacob looked back remembering all of the people in front of the building and when they barraged her with questions she thought it best to just go up to the roof entrance and in any case it was sort of an application for her joining G.L.A.S.S. but that would be if she was still allowed to join.

He went into the ventilation pipes with a hologram 3D map in his HUD. He would then arrive at Lisa's office where he would then hack into the lighting system of the building remotely. Considering the building's defense systems it was tough to the point where his best attempt was that he could control only one room, but that was all he needed. Suddenly any window in Lisa's office would close, every light would turn off, all she could see was one light still turned on right in front of her desk.

The Red Devil would suddenly then drop down from the ceiling vents. "You called me and I know what you want... Where do I start," he said in a distorted, metallic voice

GLASS Holding Cell 04
Operative Robin Harlaw, V-Rank

The young soldier was making his way through the labyrinthine hallways of the underground portion of the GLASS Headquarters, a skewed smirk on his face as he reached the holding cell portion of the compound. He had decided to simply not hear the emergency call to arms earlier this morning. It happened, he had other problems to deal with at the time and besides, he really did not feel like it. Him and Lieutenant Clarke had never gotten along. The more time they spent away from one another, the better.

Which was of course that as soon as the captives had taken off the X-Rank's hands, Robin had done his best to weasel his way into the interrogation of the ARK members. Truth be told, it hadn't been that difficult. Reputation inside GLASS or not, it could not be denied that Robin got results. Results that GLASS after this fiasco quite direly needed.

As such, it was with an almost inaudible chuckle that he swiped his keycard and opened the holding cell containing Alexis, already affectionately dubbed "Booster" on site once people caught mill of his ability.

"Alright, my walking, talking lil' steroid shot." The operative cooed, letting the door slam shut behind him, leaving the two isolated in their cell. "This is how things are going to work. You're currently under arrest fifty feet underground in the most secure building in Hale. Ain't anyone going to come looking for you or know what is happening to you, alright?" He grinned, letting his words sink in. "So I'm going to start asking some questions. Your job is to answer them in any manner you can that'll help us. If you don't, I'll start hurting you 'till you do. Capisce?"

Hah, and who said you couldn't combine work and fun?

Alexis Morton "Pura" - GLASS HQ Interrogation Room

Alexis rolled her eyes at Jacob's response. This really was going to be a pain, wasn't it? It might be worth getting Luke in here if this went on any longer. If she wasn't a part of ARK... then she likely wouldn't have the usual mental defenses that'd plagued them in the past. She gulped down another mouthful of squits, this time pouring them straight from the jar into her mouth. She was gonna have to be careful not to eat them all - they wouldn't grow back if there weren't any left.

"Okay... let me phrase this another way. Could you tell me why were you trying to get in to the building in the first place, miss?"

She placed the jar back down, spilling a few more squits as she did so.

Lisa Fleming - GLASS HQ Office

At first, Lisa was ready to flick the switch under her desk and sound the alarm. But when she realized who was dealing with... she naturally didn't bother. More than likely he'd disabled the systems anyway, and it wasn't exactly in her best interests to have him hauled away to a holding cell right now. She didn't know if he could see her face in the darkness, but she smirked anyway.

"I can't say I expected you to respond so quickly. Good to see there's someone who's as serious about all this as I am..." She bent down, and pulled some papers out from the storage unit of her desk. "As I'm sure you're aware, the greatest threat we're... attempting to deal with is ARK." She pushed the papers towards him. "Here's the details of all the members we're currently aware of. Now, the problem we have is that, as a public unit, we can't afford to dedicate the resources to tracking them all down, and can't expect you to either."

Picking out one file in particular, she turned it around to face him. "So, I would recommend dealing with this particular suspect. Calls himself 'Charon', long range teleporter, as far as we can tell. We don't know much else about him... but we do know that he has links to whatever leadership ARK seems to have. Of course, very difficult to pin him down, but if you could... we might be one step closer to taking them down entirely."

She adjusted her seat, sitting up straight now. "We can't give you much help finding him, other than what's in that file - if could, we would've done it ourselves. But what I can offer you is some of my agents. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help." She deliberately omitted the fact that GLASS wasn't supposed to work with vigilantes. If he didn't already know this... she didn't want to scare him away. No-one would question her use of agents, unless one of them ratted her out - she had more than sufficient authority to run small operations without higher permission.

Connor Morton "Booster" - GLASS Holding Cell 04

Connor had been sitting in the room for over an hour, his mind swimming in and out as the sedatives did their work. Fuck, fuck, fuck... ARK had never really told him what to do if they ever got caught. And now that he thought about it -why would they? They had barely told him anything that these guys didn't already know. He didn't know what was in those crates, not really. He didn't know what they were going to do with them. He didn't know who'd found out about it all. ARK was pretty damn good at compartmentalizing their information. And he, personally, meant nothing to them.

A man eventually walked into the room, a pretty smug attitude following him in. Ugh. He was glad he hadn't joined GLASS - at least at ARK, you could just say if you didn't like someone. They'd beat the shit out of you for it, but you could say it. He bet no-one said nothing to this guy, though. Assholes like him could swagger around, as long as they played by the rules or whatever. Who'd want to live like that?

He smiled back at the man as he give his little speech. "Got it, boss." He honestly had no idea what he was going to do next... guess it depended how loyal he felt that day.

"Hhhmmm....." He said as he browsed through the files, he would then from his back take out.... A laptop? Apparently, the back plate of his armor is a storage compartment, big enough to store a laptop. He would then put it down where it faces Lisa and open it, the AI already searching through it. "Filtering all known database from every agency, company and government file, Filtering to possible ARK members. . . Completed. Filtering to possible superhumans. . . Completed. Filtering to teleportation. . . Completed, results from most probable to least probable: Michael Loman, Jaxson Black, Sydney Stone." The computer said. "Show the last known position of the three with any CCTV and then the previous last known position, calculate the time gap and see if it is plausible for a normal human to be that fast," He said as he walked around the room with his hand on his chin. "Searching. . . Completed. Calculating. . . Michael Loman, superhuman. Jaxson black, superhuman. Sydney Stone, human. Removing Sydney Stone from suspects, reintegrating database." The computer responded. "There you go, two known teleporters so far, most likely associated with ARK. If we're going to do this, you might as well be honest with your co-workers and superiors that you are being aided by a vigilante, no matter the consequences. Plus, I'd like to see how much technology there is here and the people that work on it" He said as he walks to the door "Shall we?"

"Hey, look at that!" Robin snickered some at the very agreeable response, grin spreading wider across his face. "One of you ARK bastards actually know how to take a proper order! Didn't expect that outta ya'." He shook his head, leaning against one of the walls inside the holding cell and crossing his arms. Perhaps this would be easier than he had expected it to be.

"Alright, first of all." He began after a moment of deliberation. "ARK doesn't have a singular base, we know that by now. You do have a collection of safehouses spread throughout the city. I want a list of the ones you know about, and where to find 'em. Ready, go." As he began the interrogation, Robin had a single eyebrow raised with a devious smirk, as if daring booster to give a dissatisfactory answer.

GLASS medical bay
C-rank Erin "Ecto" Judai and X-rank Lorenze Clearwater
Ecto was being treated with a ventilator being added to his respirator mask along with an oxygen tank to help him breathe more easily while his lungs healed from their bruising. He didn't mind the ventilator that much, since it sounded pretty cool. Like the sound Darth Vader makes when he breathes.

His mood improved when he saw Lorenze Clearwater enter the medical bay too. He had always looked up to Lorenze as he had been nice to Ecto ever since he joined, and constantly helped him train his telekinetic abilities due to his Hakai-Ergokinetic power having similar principles.

The X-rank spoke "Wuss poppin, Judai?" as he took a seat next to Ecto. Ecto took his goggles off and had a clearly positive expression.

"It's all good here, sir" he responded. His voice had a slight distortion due to the ventilator in use, but that sounded cool too.

"Good, good, how'd you get messed up like this?" Lorenze asked back, referring to Ecto's physical state.

"Eh...it's really not that impressive. I contained a single grenade explosion and I was somehow affected this badly.." Ecto said, evidently not proud of himself.

"....Are you kidding?! Judai, that's a hell of a lot of force to handle! It's amazing you managed to remain conscious! If anything, this just shows that you're way tougher than you give yourself credit for....speaking of which, why haven't you taken much credit for capturing Cinder? And don't tell me that you didn't play a big part, because I heard you telling her that you bamboozled her escape."

Ecto was taken aback by how Lorenze managed to hear what he said to Cinder. "Uh....I mean, the Lieutenant would probably have found a way to capture her either way. He's smart like that. It's not like a single C-rank could play that big a part in something as major as this." Even though Ecto may appear confident and prideful during combat, he wasn't so much outside of combat. He didn't like taking credit for things that would draw attention to him, plus he currently wanted to let others feel good about themselves instead of stealing their thunder.

"...Listen, Erin, you shouldn't deny yourself that which you deserve. You are far beyond most C-ranks here, and even younger than most to top that off. It shouldn't be that long before you rank up, and good thing too since you absolutely deserve to be recognized as more than basic cannon fodder."

Lorenze needed Ecto to become more prideful in his abilities. If he was going to be manipulated into being Lorenze's "apprentice" as he intended, one that would help him create a system of superhuman superiority, he needed to plant the first seeds of pride in the young agent's mind. Getting Ecto to recognize his own worth would be a small step closer to his ultimate goal.

Ecto didn't quite know how to respond. Lorenze then said that he needed to go and do something else, to which Ecto responded with a small nod. Lorenze left the medical bay, leaving Ecto with his thoughts.

Lisa Fleming - GLASS HQ

Fascinating... in just a few minutes, the laptop had narrowed down a whole city of people to just two suspects. That was something that could take weeks for GLASS, if not longer if they got caught up in political red tape. Assumably that how he'd worked out her identity earlier - this was more complex than just basic facial recognition software. It almost seemed... intelligent.

She stood up, and opened up the door. "Of course," she replied. He was clearly aware of their usual arrangements, then. Oh well - she was hardly expecting to keep this a secret forever. All she had to do was show what a powerful asset he could be, and the others would hopefully see reason. They weren't going to get anywhere if they continued operating like they were. She lead him through the building, and down towards ground floor.

"Most of what's visible is just offices... admin stuff that isn't strictly essential. No need to put anything valuable on view for everyone. All the important stuff, we keep underground..."

Connor Morton "Booster" - GLASS Holding Cell 04

He smirked again. Ah, of course... they really weren't even close to dealing with ARK, were they? If they were just looking for safehouses, they really didn't know how to deal with the problem at all. But this was actually one of the few things he had have knowledge on - in fact, most ARK members did, with most of their operations involving dropping off goods at said safehouses. They weren't supposed to memorise where they were or anything, but it was inevitable that he'd know a few.

"Hmm..." He put his hand to his chin, half-mockingly in thought. "Well, I guess I can think of a few... First off, there's that one around 7th Street, the one with the smokestack on top..."

But after he named the first one, he had a thought. That one was real, but how the fuck would this guy even know if he was telling the truth? Unless he was gonna go visit up right now, he could literally say whatever the hell he wanted. He might not get away with it, but he'd at least make this guy look like an idiot.

And so, he listed off four other locations, this time almost randomly picking places that he reckoned could be suspicious at a glance. Run-down apartment buildings, abandoned storage rooms... that kind of thing. He couldn't resist being a little bit cheeky in the end, though - the very last location he gave was that of GLASS's own Warehouse 17, deliberately phrased to make it unclear that's what it was.

"...that good enough for you, boss?"

Jacob shivered again when Alexis ate the bugs and this time Jacob's face grew a green hue as she threw up a little bit in her mouth she decided to spit it out on the floor maintaining eye contact with the girl who kept eating the bugs. This was her fault that Jacob spit up vomit on the floor and Jacob was intent on her knowing it, in response to the girl's question Jacob responded with disrespect in her voice "Well, let's see I was trying to blow it up!" Alexis frowned. She was pretty sure Jacob had no links to ARK by this point, and now she was becoming increasingly agitated for reasons she couldn't really understand. And now she'd thrown up a little on the floor... it was possibly there was something actually wrong with this girl. She wiped the spit off her face, and leaned in, trying to look as reassuring as possible. She hadn't taken what she'd said about blowing the building up seriously - it was pretty clearly not true.

"Look... I know this isn't very comfortable for you right now. But... you have to see it from our perspective. One of our guys spotted someone trying to get into the building from the roof, without any official identification or notice. Now, maybe you had a perfectly good reason for being up there, but we can't assume that until you tell us. So, please... why exactly were you trying to get into the building?"

She sent an email to Luke while waiting for an answer, asking him to come stand outside the room. If she couldn't get Jacob to tell her... then he would be a nice back-up to figuring out what was going on here.

Squit No. 32719291072 "Daniel" - GLASS HQ Interrogation Room

He'd finally escaped. After days of waiting, he'd finally managed to get out of that jar, the same jar he'd been born in. He'd just watched as hundreds of the others disappeared down that woman's throat, never to be seen again. But now he know he wouldn't have to suffer the same fate. He ran away from her, across the table, as fast as his legs would take him.

When he reached the edge, he simply jumped off, knowing he'd survive the fall. The other girl seemed like much less of a threat - if anything, she seemed to be deliberately avoiding them, moving out the way as they fell. He scurried along the floor, moving away from her, just in case. The last thing he wanted was to be accidentally squashed by her chair leg or something, that would be pretty--

Suddenly, the girl turned her head in his direction and opened her mouth, a chunk of something unpleasant flying out. He barely had to time to react before the glob of vomit enveloped him, and he disappeared into it entirely. He struggled for a moment or two before suffocating, his vision going black.

Followers of Olympus Forward Outpost
"The time has come for Trey Smith to become something more my brothers.... he shall become godlike...... he shall feel the power of our God," announced Trevor, lead advisor of Zeus. Zeus stepped out of the darkness of a nearby shadow and his suit glimmered in the light. Unanimously the entire room, filled with just over a hundred followers, fell to their knees and bowed to Zeus. "Trey..." Zeus's voice boomed as he approached,"...Do you pledge yourself to me, your life, your soul, your strength, your power, everything you were, and everything you will be?" Everyone shuttered at the voice of Zeus, feeling as if they were all being specifically watched. "Yes my lord. I pledge to you..... everything. I beg that you grant me the power to fight and die for your glory, and to join you in Olympus for the final war that will come," the boy muttered as he silently prayed. The boy was no older than twenty but he had proven himself more than once to be a loyal soldier, even going as far to jump in front of Zeus to protect him. "All.... Rise." Zeus's voice grew heavy as he lifted his staff in his right hand high above his head. At his command the entire room rose and glared at Zeus, his power beheld by all who were present. The boy rose to his knees and stared up into the eyes of Zeus, it was ceremonial to stay kneeling. "Your blessing is of strength, power, fury, and hate. Your divine power will rival that of my blood son, Hercules. You will vanquish my enemies without mercy, they will fall to their knees and beg forgiveness for their heresy. You will accept and offer no surrender, you will be my divine Warrior!" Zeus's voice boomed as he thrust his left hand openly into the air. The lights in the room dimmed as Zeus drew power from his staff, ceiling lamps and loose clothes swung as if a strong draft had entered the building. Tendrils of electricity gathered in Zeus's hand,"Accept..... Your..... Destiny!" Zeus roared as he slammed his left hand against the boy's chest. Instantaneously covering him in what Zeus had conjured from the staff. A few seconds passed and the boy dropped to his hands and knees. Slowly his clothes tore as his muscles grew unnaturally. When he finally stopped he rose to his feet, he was several inches taller than before. He looked Zeus in the eyes and Zeus knew the boy had become truly strong, even compared to his veterans. "You will learn to tame your new strength, my son.... you will learn," with that Zeus turned away and walked towards the shadow once more, his steps echoed in the darkness and silence filled room. The boy who had just been blessed thrust his clenched fist into the air and roared,"Hail Zeus!" his voice was much different now but a hint of him remained. In unison the entirety of the room thrust their fists high and chanted,"Hail Zeus!"

Main Subway Station
Zeus and his followers had been marching from the forward outpost for sometime, getting more than a few stares from civilians. Zeus hungered for more energy but slaughtering people in the streets would end badly, little strategic advantages were present there. Only a few hundred feet ahead Zeus could see the entrance to the Main Subway, it was the hub of the entire city's transportation. It would have a dense amount of people, easily defensible from the underground, and easy routes of escape. "Runners, run ahead and patrol the area. Take out any petty threats quickly and come to me if any GLASS come. They will be dealt with accordingly." Ordered Zeus, at his command half a dozen of his men zipped away at double the speed of an Olympic runner. As they got closer and closer people felt the presence of something terrible, and those watching the group only felt a strong nervousness as Zeus descended into the subway. He knew the authorities had probably been alerted but he would have more than enough time. When Zeus finally touched the bottom of the stairs he took in full view of the room. "Allow none to leave and none to enter, and for now.... Disable the trains." Zeus ordered, at the second he finished his sentence his followers exploded into action. Grabbing anyone trying to flee and tossing them to the ground or striking them hard, rendering them defenseless. Zeus watched with a cold expression as his telekinesis blessed followers charged into the trains and began removing electrical panels and unplugging wires wildly, disabling them for the time being. Zeus heard a struggle and turned to see it, a large man was struggling to escape, Zeus's newest soldier caught him. Trey had caught the man by the neck and had lifted him into the air, the man was definitely strong in his own right, but not as strong as Zeus's warriors. "Resistance is met with the ultimate punishment." Zeus said blankly as he nodded to Trey. Snap The once living and struggling man dropped to the floor limply, the light fading from his eyes. "Line them up, we must continue our mission." Zeus commanded. One by one the people were dragged to the center of the subway platform and lined up, all of them held tightly by Zeus's warriors so that they would have the inability to resist. Positioned all around the subway platform footmen stood with their gazes on the entrance or on the people lined up, ready to raise their weapons and open fire if anyone attempted to rebel. Zeus paced towards the first of the line, a young woman with terror filling her eyes. "Do not fear my child.... this is for a greater cause than you could ever accomplish," Zeus muttered as he exchanged his staff to his left hand and raised it high. "The left hand gives....." Zeus muttered as he placed his other hand on the woman's forehead,"The right hand takes...." At that moment sparks of electricity transferred from the woman's body onto Zeus's hand and she grew pale. From the look on her face she wanted to resist or scream but the power to do so left her quickly. Finally she lulled her eyes closed and her energy traveled up Zeus's arm into his staff. With a grim smile he turned to the next in line, the dead woman slumping to the floor behind him.
