Sense8 (a play on the word sensate) is a show that focuses on the lives of eight individuals who suddenly become emotionally and mentally connected. These individuals come from all kinds of backgrounds, live all over the world, and have entirely different interests. Despite having never met each other, they all witness the suicide of a woman called Angelica and soon after begin to become connected on a level that they can experience the emotions of one another.
Warning: The show itself can be very graphic. Please keep this in mind when viewing
A Quick Overview
This roleplay will focus on a different set of eight characters. Although I prefer that all characters are OCs, characters may be canon if you can play them true to their character in the show as they interact with the OC characters. The events in the roleplay will not be influenced by the events in the show. However the events of the show will be used as the general backbone of the RP plot. All accepted members of the roleplay will be asked to help contribute to the plot and help brainstorm new ideas.
Acceptance and Applications
Due to the nature of the show and its themes, I can only accept eight people. Please post a filled out copy of the CS Template (feel free to add to it if you want) below. I will continue accepting applications until a certain date (TBA, depending on the interest) after which I will review all the applications and notify those selected eight via PM or mention you here. The start date of the actual roleplay is currently undetermined, but those accepted will be notified a few days before the decided date.
How The Roleplay Will Work
Since the show can be confusing as it jumps from location to location, it will be a challenge converting it to a roleplay format. My preliminary idea for organization is running it in four simultaneous IC Tabs, each of which will focus on two main locations and ideally keeping two characters in a tab at a time. If your character or your character's presence shifts to a location that isn't included in the current tab their in, you simply post your next reply in the coordinating tab. (If you understood all that, gold star for you. If not, it will make more sense in practice.)
Wrap-up
Thanks for sticking with me as you read through all of this chaos! I hope this RP won't be enjoyable for everyone who participates in it. If you have any questions/concerns/suggestions/etc, feel free to contact me below by including @RealisticFantasy in your reply or PMing me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
I hate to come across as harsh or mean or strict or whatever adjective with a negative connotation that you want to use here, but group RPs have a habit of not working out for me so I'm am putting requirements of this one. If you have any concerns regarding these or any other details, feel free to pm me!
No god-moding/Mary Sues/Etc
This is just a basic rule you should always follow. Make your characters realistic, realistic characters have flaws.
Proper grammar is a must
English doesn't have to be your first language but you must understand how to write it. A few mistakes every now and then are okay but if you write in "txt talk" or just have terrible grammar, you will not be accepted into the roleplay. This is absolutely nonnegotiable.
A minimum of one response per day
This requirement may be negotiated on certain circumstances but it's important to be online often to help move the plot along
A minimum of one paragraph per response
A paragraph in this case is defined as at least four lines of solid content
Being rude out of character is unacceptable
Your partners are your friends. You should bond over the RP, not bicker and argue. In character, there are no restrictions as long as your character has good reason.
Be original
Don't be afraid to stray from the norm. The point of the roleplay is to have a diverse cast of characters.
Most importantly, have a good idea of the show
You don't have to have Netflix to watch the show. "But it's a 'Netflix original', isn't it? Which means that it's only on Netflix?" I hear you ask. Well, yes. And no. If you don't have Netflix, check out this link.
