Oops! I posted what I meant to pre-post. I'm going to delete that post and put it up when it's Kitty's turn.

Edit: Done. Sorry about that! =)

That moment when you've written the pre-post for when your character's turn comes around, only to get bumped by your wonderful GM, which only serves to remind you that you wrote the pre-post... but forgot to post it in the game! Ahh! =)

Lol. It's ok, Dann. You old folks sometimes can be forgetful. That's why us young and spry players are here to help keep you in line.

Hey! Don't make me shake my cane at you! Get off of my lawn, you rotten kid!

As funny as that is, it's my brain!

Folks with ADD tend to be more forgetful of things (or if they're on the same side of the spectrum as I am, their imagination will even play tricks on them from time to time - I honestly thought I'd posted it in IC and I was wondering why you had pinged me! Ha ha!). This is especially true if I am distracted, which (looking back) was very much the case as Real Life required me to place all of my attention on matters of much higher importance (in this case, the immediate and continued safety of others during an emergency. The last thing on my mind when people need Real Life help is roleplaying - which is how it ought to be). =)

Yep. Gaming is awesome, but it can always wait for the really important stuff.

Understandable. You and Sherwood keep on saying Real Life comes first, and that is a very true thing.
Oh! I have been saying "Real Life Always Comes First" in online games since around 2008! Then and now, I wholeheartedly believe it and I'll "die on this hill" in argument for it. For all I know, I'm the one who started it. I'll never know, but it's a nice thought. =)

Awesome! I get the expanded critical strike now on an 18-20. That will hurt the baddies a bit!

Psychie Psychie Would you please roll a d6 for Kitty's hit points please?

Also, I am thinking of looking into getting her veterinary medicine skills. Time will tell! =)

I'll say! Hooray! And thanks for rolling for me all the time! =)

GunMan2 GunMan2 Psychie Psychie Sherwood Sherwood First off, GunMan2? Do you want or need any help with leveling Chris?

My next set of queries follows Kitty. Skill-wise, where should I take her? I don't want to create another PC filled with Physical Skills and W.P.s. I like the idea of Kitty branching out educationally (and since it's not feasible for her to learn veterinarian medicine in Palladium given the sheer number of prerequisites), where might the following Skills take her?

1. Military Tactics (found in the Robotech: Shadow Chronicles main book)? Would choosing this Skill help Kitty figure out how to better take on the Zentraedi given that she is one?

2. Computer Engineering (found in Skill compendium v6.0)? Would this be of any help in what we're already doing? I like the idea of Kitty knowing computers backwards and forwards, but how often would a Skill like this come into play? Part of this Skill's coolness is that it takes a PC in the direction of modifying computers. However, modification in general is not where Psychie wanted to take this game when she started it up hence none of us PCs here being able to modify our gear, mecha, etc.. Would Computer Engineering be helpful outside of that?

3. Paramedic? Sure, Steven's our medical guy, but Kitty doesn't even have First Aid (can't get it from vanilla Global Military Police O.C.C.; Paramedic only)? I don't want to edge in on Steven's territory unless you guys think it would be a good idea?

4. What other Skills out there would help a gal like her fight the Malcontents? Is there something she could learn that might help out 3rd JSOG (we never did choose a name) as a whole? I just keep scrolling through the Skill lists not quite knowing which way to go (especially long-term).

Well for one i plan to give chris not just computer but some tech skills too since he is the com's man he would need to know how to keep the machines running or detect any tampering that might happen to them after all the enemies might target the SPARTAS sooner or later and i would rather be ready. Other wise having 2 medics might benefit in case we get separated and might need to patch someone up. Or maybe you want to play more on her GMP thing and make her a spy of sorts like an info getherer.

Honestly, still my first game so i can't really say what might go best all i can say is you do you.

That's what I'm trying for. In order for a guy like me to play characters for the long haul, it helps if they have goals. Kitty has none career-wise. As expressed in the poem she just wrote, my Miyazaki's reached a point where she believes it's just a matter of time until she winds up like the Malcontents we're putting down and that has her living in the present, not thinking of any potential futures.

Thanks for your thoughts, GunMan2! =)

I am not sure how to respond to this. I'll have to do some pondering to give you an informed answer.

IC post will be forthcoming soon.

Hey team!

If I haven't made it clear, I'm having a good time playing this game! I think Third JSOG (we really could use a name) is an interesting team and playing Kitty is more of an eye-opening experience for me than I first imagined. This is the good time I imagined us having when I first showed interest back in late 2019. =)

For Kitty to... see her fate as an eventual casualty in a great cause (like helping to bring peace to this race of humans who are bringing so much to her five clone-mates in Terror Team Six) is... something she can live with quite reasonably. From a Zentraedi/Meltrandi's soldier's perspective (which, I remind you, has a life expectancy of but three years!), Kitty sees herself as having just found a purpose that she can live with - the one she was born for - the role she is most comfortable being in - the guardian of a special people.

It's not that she thinks of herself as trash or worthless like a human might. It's that she's not supposed to live long enough to... well... really live life! I mean, how would you feel if you popped out of a tank one day, fully formed, made for war, and other, much older and wiser creatures than you were taught about said, "Hey! We need you to help us!" She feels alive when she's killing - after all, Terror Team Six is a custom-made Meltrandi Assassination Unit made to serve a Meltrandi Commander (who's dead).

So... if this was your life, what would you do with it? Would you be keen in making yourself the deadliest war-beast you could make yourself? Would you try a taste of humanity and learn skills known only by humans? Something else?

That's the road Kitty's on. She's glad to be alive. And regardless if she lives to her 3rd birthday or 300th, she's just chosen to make every moment she has worth the living! =)

Any thoughts?

Oh! And I don't know what we're supposed to post next in-game? O.K., we've helped out for hours and we're probably exhausted but at least partly satisfied but... is there a direction you wanted us to take, Psychie? Because I'm not seeing one (which could just be me).

Other wise having 2 medics might benefit in case we get separated and might need to patch someone up.
Sherwood Sherwood Are you O.K. with having someone else with Paramedic in the game (say, Kitty, follows Steven's example during the triage at Anton-17) or would you rather Steven be the only one with those Skills? I want everyone to shine but I also want us to be a team that's not... overspecialized if you take my meaning. What's your opinion, bud?

"Overspecialize and you breed in weakness." - Major Motoko Kusanagi, Ghost in the Shell (movie).

I'm good with someone else having medical knowledge. Thanks for asking.

Psychie Psychie Miyazaki has chosen Paramedic: 59% (+5%) for 4th level. GunMan2 GunMan2 Thank you SO MUCH for the feedback, man! I needed it and you provided it. I 'ppreciate ya! =)
