Aileen made mental notes of everyone, their powers, and where they were. Sitting next to Bai and Zeke eased her tension a little bit throughout the process, but it came back ten fold as Ibuki mention his power. He could nullify it..... could he take it away completely? He probably would have mentioned it if he could. She liked the sound of the other girls powers, but didn’t focus too much on Zeke. She already knew his. But as he kept talking, she found herself nodding along. “I agree. I think that... well, just in general we should all stay close.” She explained.

At Nat’s power, she smiled at him shortly, and thought about it. Knowing him, he probably thought he was a vampire when he first found out. And hey, she didn’t blame him. After today, anything was possible. “Maybe your power is levitation? Have you just... I don’t know, levitated?” She asked, trying to be helpful, but would probably be regretting it later.

She also had a moment where she paused in thought. Where were they going to go? They couldn’t stay at the circus forever. Risk these people in their attempt to lay low? She didn’t think these people would do that. But what else could they do? It wasn’t like they had an old abandoned cabin in the woods they could just run too, like in movies. Her house was barely big enough for her family when her sister was alive, that would raise a ton of suspicion. She had to calm her thoughts before she went over board, and shook her head slightly. Everything would work out. They would be fine. Her anxiety needed to take a backseat for a bit.

Eira couldn't help but chuckle quietly at the look of bliss that had appeared on the boy's face after he had gotten his food. He seemed younger, somehow, like this- more innocent; like a kid. It was a far cry from the terse replies and permanently sour look he seemed to adopt the rest of the time. Speaking of which, he appeared to realize his mistake and quickly looked around the room as he rearranged his features into the familiar scowl. Eira quickly looked down at her plate so he wouldn't know that she had noticed.

The girl from earlier introduced herself as Aileen, revealing the power Eira had seen her use. Next was the boy's friend- Bai-, who turned out to have super-strength, which made perfect sense when she considered what she had seen the girl do that morning and the night before. The quiet purple-haired girl introduced herself as Acantha, and was apparently telekinetic.

When the boy introduced his power, there was cause for some confusion as he stated that it was nullifying the powers of others. Eira had thought it was absorbing energy- how had he come to that conclusion? More than the power though, what was nagging at the back of her mind was the boy's name. Ibuki, Ibuki... Where had she heard it before?

She was distracted from her ruminations when their host stood up. She turned first to Acantha, signing a few words in the air, and then back to them, continuing, with Acantha translating for her. She introduced herself as Sarah, welcomed them, and told them what her power was. Illusions- how interesting.

The other boy from the night before then stood up and introduced himself. Zeke- so that was his name. Eira was relieved to finally learn it. He then not only told them what his power was, but gave them a demonstration as well. Eira had to admit- it was extremely cool to observe, though considering how badly he was injured and the scene she had witnessed earlier that morning, he really shouldn't be exerting himself like this.

Zeke then went into worried-older-brother-lecturing mode, which she was familiar with from the party. Of course, most of what he said made sense (they were all targets now, they should stick together), but since it was common sense, it made him saying it out loud more comical than anything else. "Yes, Dad," she wanted to say, torn between giggling and rolling her eyes.

When he got to the part about her and Aileen needing bodyguards, however, she scowled. There he was, at it again- a weird mixture of protective and condescending. They couldn't take care of themselves? They were dangerous? Had no control? Eira could admit that she didn't exactly have her ability under wraps yet, but the person most bothered by it was her.

Not to mention the fact that Ibuki probably wouldn't take kindly to being assigned to her as a nanny, and being forced to stay with her. He had already been extremely helpful to her and, though she wouldn't have minded him sticking around, because of the warmth he provided and the fact that his presence reassured her, she couldn't selfishly demand that he stay by her at all times.

Besides, she thought vehemently, this is just more of that 'spoiled princess' nonsense. If she was ever going to get people to stop seeing her that way, she couldn't always be relying on others to deal with her own problems. It was a matter of principle, and of what was important and right, but also one of her obstinacy and pride, which were both considerable.

Eira looked Zeke straight in the eye and said

"I appreciate your logic, and I know your heart's in the right place, but I don't want to always have to have someone nearby for protection." In her mind, she could picture Ibuki saying something like You want me to be stuck with this spoiled princess? Like hell- I got better things to do. The thought made her want to giggle again.

"Besides, my power hasn't proven a danger to anyone. At most, it's just... uncomfortable. And I'm not so fragile that I can't put up with a little bit of cold," she said disdainfully. She was minimizing the situation, of course, as a little knot of apprehension twisted in her stomach at the thought of going back to being cold all the time, but she gritted her teeth, set on it, chin jutting defiantly, hoping she could convince the others as well as herself through sheer willpower. After all, it would be terrible if she made this big speech about doing everything on her own with no help, and then she couldn't handle it. People would go right back to seeing her as a spoiled princess and, this time, it would stick.

She thought back to that morning and what she'd accomplished at the stream, about the flow of power she'd experienced, and the relief from the cold that had followed, and her resolve strengthened. She could and would learn how to control it, and she wasn't going to need someone next to her to magic away the cold for all eternity.

She then glanced guiltily over at Ibuki, who had basically been dragged into this whole thing all because of her. If he no longer felt he needed to stay near her, would he leave? If she was perfectly honest with herself, she didn't want him to, as it wasn't the warmth that was even the most important part of having him around. And there was still the matter of where she'd heard his name before...

She gave her head a little shake to clear it and bring her back to the matter at hand. They had superpowers, they had escaped from mysterious men with guns- there were far more important things going on right now than figuring out why someone's name was familiar to her.

The last two to introduce themselves were Uriel, who could manipulate metal (and had a demonstration to prove it), and Nathaniel, who could... what? Float? Fly? Aileen suggested it was levitation, which made sense, but it was clear they would all need to experiment with and test their powers- find out what they could do, where their limits were.

She hadn't missed the look Aileen gave Ibuki when he mentioned his power- it was hope. It seemed Aileen was afraid of her own abilities. Eira wanted to shake her head. Of course, she understood that it was scary having these abilities, especially not knowing where they came from or what they were for or how to control them, but to Eira, it meant they had a way to fight back against whoever was after them, and they should be trying to get stronger and better at using them- not trying to get rid of them altogether.

She completely agreed with Uriel's suggestion- that they needed to find a place to do so-, and hopefully Sarah could and would help with that, but there were more pressing matters to consider, such as how and why they'd gotten their powers in the first place, who those men were from last night's party, and what they were supposed to do now.

She didn't know much, but she did know one thing, and she decided that now was the time to share with the others what she had learned that morning.

Standing up once more, she cleared her throat nervously, knowing this bit of information would be a bit of a bombshell, especially for anyone here who had lost a friend or family member to one of these supposed recent 'suicides'. She began uncertainly.

"Guys? I learned something earlier that I think is a piece of the puzzle- something to help us get closer to figuring out why all this is happening. Remember the girl who fell out of the closet? Well her name is Casey, and I think she's a telepath; that's how she knew about Jordan's cars. And when she collapsed on her way out of the house, it was 'cause she got a vision- a memory- from one of the men..."

She went on to explain the horrible scene Casey had witnessed, noticing the shocked expressions on the others' faces as she did. She felt guilty telling them this, knowing they were probably picturing their loved ones go through the exact same thing, but she knew it was important that they be told.

When she was done, there was stunned silence for a long moment. Eira didn't want to be the one to break it, but felt she had to.

"I... I think those people in the lab- I think they were trying to give her abilities, like the ones we have. Maybe they were trying to artificially recreate something that happens naturally? I don't know..." she drifted off, frustrated at the mystery, at their lack of information- it made her feel powerless. "What I mean is... All those recent deaths- those suicides? I don't think they were suicides at all."

She let the pronouncement hang in the air, looking around the room as everyone considered the awful implications, before sitting back down and folding in on herself, a slight shiver that had nothing to do with her power running down her spine. Just what had they gotten themselves mixed up in...?

OOC: Dun dun DUNN ;P

1.jpgBai was stumped. Zeke had powers too? And his seemed pretty impressive although it made Bai concerned that he was demonstrating with such injuries. But then again, Bai didn't know the toll his powers took on him when they were used. Most of everyone's powers seemed active. They had to really think to initiate their abilities. Aside from maybe Ibuki's powers, Bai's seemed to possess more of a passive trait. She didn't have to will her strength into happening. It just...did. Maybe with adrenaline her power could achieve higher potential. When fighting those men they almost seemed to move in slow motion while Bai moved like normal. Did she have something like Zeke?

For now Bai would experiment to see exactly what she could do--what everyone could do. No one seemed to be an expert on their ability so it seemed they all manifested recently or at least was realized then.

Bai turned her attention towards Zeke as she fetched another plate and piled on the food. It was weird. Normally, Bai would be more than full after what she just ate but right now she felt like she was still very much hungry.

Zeke observed that some of the groups powers seemed to serve as a counter to others and that those people should remain close. Especially, if some of the more devastating abilities were to get out of control. Bai internally agreed with the idea as did Uriel and Aileen, vocally but the pale haired girl seemed to completely disagree with the idea. Even if it wasn't for the reason Bai appreciated.

"It's not about what you or we want. We need each other, like Aileen said. And if having people that keeps the more..." Bai waved her hands in the air. "spectacle abilities on the down low then I believe that is best. We don't want to attract too much attention to ourselves. At least not more than we have already. We don't know who we can trust outside of our group, here. If a person sees us throw something with our minds or create ice and decide to tell about it then that could put us all in danger and lead more of those guys from last night straight to us." Bai then went back to cleaning her plate again. After a moment Eira spoke up again.

The girl that made Bai almost shoot someone with a scare, last night, was a telepath. And according to what she said the suicides weren't really suicides at all. They were failed experiments. Discarded after a failed test turn someone into an ability user?

"Does that mean any of us could have been a victim? Are we the successes? The lucky ones?" Bai asked out loud while lost in thought.

"Wait, so that means at some point we were taken to be experimented on, right? Does anyone have any memory of that?" Bai's head hurt just even thinking about possibly being poked and prodded by a bunch of guys in white lab coats. Suddenly, Bai didn't have much of an appetite anymore and she pushed the plate of food away.

When Aileen nodded and agreed with Zeke about them all staying together, Nathaniel felt a twinge of guilt. He agreed that they should definitely stay close to each other, but he didn't miss the look and tone of relief in her voice, and he felt like he hadn't been a good friend. What did it say that she hadn't told him about her power? That she didn't turn to him for comfort or advice? Was it because there was nothing he could do to help or reassure her? Was he untrustworthy, or unreliable?

He shook his head to rid it of these thoughts as conversation about people's powers continued. Aileen suggested that his ability might be levitation, and asked if he had tried to levitate. He shrugged.

"Since I didn't know what my power was, I tried to just... make something happen. And when I did, that's how I ended up standing sideways on the edge of the tent. But I didn't feel it. It was just when I opened my eyes and realized what was going on that I got all disoriented, and then I- I fell," he finished lamely, his cheeks turning pink.

Eira apparently didn't agree with Zeke's assessment of the situation, as she vocalized her opposition and explained her point of view on the matter. Bai then disagreed with her disagreement- sharply- and Nat hoped that they weren't already going to start fighting, wincing at the thought of what the results of that could be, considering their newly-discovered abilities. He noticed that Zeke and Bai agreed and presented a unified front, and they seemed to act like leaders to their motley little group.

Once everyone was done with their introduction, Eira stood up again, clearing her throat and obviously nervous about whatever it was she was planning to say. As she described the horrible scene, Nathaniel shook his head, unable to believe it. His first thought was of Devin, and what he would do if he knew about this. Probably something dangerous. Devin had been worryingly self-destructive since the death of his brother, and suddenly Nathaniel was glad he wasn't here and didn't know about this.

He shivered as he pictured the scene in his mind's eye- it was awful to think anyone would do something like that- to kids, especially. It was like something out of a movie.

Bai wondered aloud at what it meant, and Nathaniel frowned, following her train of thought.

"Experiemented on...? No, I have no memory of anything like that," he said, suddenly filled with fear. "We'd remember if we had been experimented on, wouldn't we?" he asked nervously.

"Who were those men last night, though? And why were they after Uriel?" He looked towards the other boy, another thought coming to him.

And how come all of us have powers? he wondered. It can't be a coincidence.

He looked around the room, wondering if the others might have some answers. Or theories, or ideas. There was so much they needed to know about all this.

OOC: Awww, poor kids ^^"

Sarah had let the scene play out, observing as always, from the background. She was fine not being the leader of this scraggly bunch. Besides she was never really cut out for the leadership position in anything but acrobatics. Her lack of voice was usually the biggest factor in that, and so, she decided to just hang back and let them all do their thing till she had something to say. She really payed attention to what everyone was saying, their reactions, their suggestions, and most importantly how they were feeling as time went on. "I can easily provide a place for us to practice here, if you like, although it might be a good idea to find a more, discreet, place to meet up." She signed to Acantha, for her to relay. It was in this time that the girl, Eira, had revealed some pretty unsettling news to them. How were they supposed to take that? In fact, if what she heard was true, it brought to her mind of how they would have all been taken in the first place?

She knew for a fact that she had rarely wandered around this town since she had gotten here. Work had seen to it that she had been kept busy most of the time, she never really left more than a hour at most, and most places she ever visited were just to pick up supplies they needed for the cirque- or for food and clothes. She figured that she had also been to the school, for registry, but couldn't really remember anything being out of the ordinary while she was there. Then there was the whole thing about, how in hell, would they have hidden the fact from their parents or guardians!? Sarah usually never stays out late to make sure that she's in her best condition for her performances, so, just how would they have accomplished it?

A flash of realization swept through her mind as she tried to think about a day that would have been a good time for them to have abducted her, which by the way, GROSS! She quickly grabbed her phone and started scrolling through her old messages with her dad! She was getting pretty far, just about to give up on what seemed like a dead end, when she came across a message that she didn't remember writing herself. It was on one of the Saturdays of the first month of her being here. All of the messages up to that one she could remember, however, at somewhere around the evening a message had come from her. Telling her father that, 'she had made a new friend, and that, she was going to be spending the night at their place.'

Realization came pretty quick that she didn't send that message. Since one: she hadn't had any friends yet! (Ouch.) Two: That was a night just before a work day, and she NEVER, stayed out on those nights.

She decided to share this with the others, signing to Acantha the situation, and once again asking her to relay the information for them all. 'You know, having her around, makes this whole communicating thing quite easy! Maybe I should hire her to be my personal translator! Wait, no, I feel like I would always be in constant danger of being used in an experiment for science...yikes...though also kind of sounds like it would be fun!'

The dampener, who had walked in with Eira, piled his plate high with food and attacked it with enthusiasm, pausing only to introduce himself as Ibuki. Sarah then stood up and looked at her, asking her to translate.

She watched the girl's swiftly moving hands and vocalized her words for the rest of the group as she introduced herself, welcomed them all to her home, and told them about her power.

Zeke went next, giving his name and explaining what he could do. Acantha narrowed her eyes at him, highly intrigued, as his was by far the most interesting ability of all.

He gave them a quick demonstration of his power, which was impressive (if inadvisable, given his current physical condition). He then proceeded to assess their current situation and recommend that they stay together, and that those with more dangerous abilities stay close to him or Ibuki in order to prevent any incidents. She agreed with his logic, which was usually always sound.

The next to introduce himself was Uriel, who also proceeded to demonstrate his ability despite being injured. Acantha frowned slightly at this lack of common sense, worried by the implications.

Last to go was Nathaniel, who wasn't quite sure what his ability was. Acantha had a few suspicions and several hypotheses, and was immediately itching to test them. He seemed mostly embarrassed at his own ignorance. Aileen suggested levitaton, which was a plausible option.

Eira then felt the need to protest Zeke's earlier assessment. Acantha had two thoughts on the girl's response. The first was that she was being immature and refusing the logical course of action as a result of her wounded pride. The second, after she explained a bit more about her power, was that she probably didn't need someone there to protect her from herself (or others from her ability). Cryokinesis was simply not that dangerous.

When Eira went on to describe the vision Casey had gotten from one of their assailants, Acantha sat up straighter. This was definitely an important piece of the puzzle- one that would go a long way to helping them figure out just what was going on.

Bai stated one of the important reasons for Zeke's earlier argument- they couldn't afford to attract attention to themselves. There was, of course, the other obvious reason that they were all being hunted and, since they all had powers, they stood a better chance if they stayed together.

She voiced one of Acantha's own thoughts in response to Eira's revelation, seeming to lose her apetite over the possibility. Nathaniel gave a few more pieces of information about his abilities, which Acantha factored into her calculations and used to eliminate one of her previous hypotheses.

Sarah followed the conversation with ease, then signed that she could provide them with a place to practice with their abilities, Acantha relating the message to the group. After Eira's revelation, she had one of her own to make, letting them know about the text message she'd apparently sent to her father one night, but had no memory of.

Acantha frowned, computing the variables in her head, before synthesizing them and laying out the facts as they had them.

"Abilities such as the ones we possess are a result of genetic mutation," she stated. "Such a mutation can occur naturally, or be artificially created. It seems clear that the recent stream of deaths were, most likely, the result of failed attempts at the latter." She paused, then resumed.

"Since it seems too great a coincidence that all of us, living in this town and in the same age range, would suddenly develop abilities within such a short timespan, the most logical explanation would be that we are the result of a successful attempt, either because we possess the required genetics to support these artificial abilities, or perhaps because the mutation was already present in our genetic code but has been artificially activated.

In both cases, it would mean that we have been experimented on; same as the others, and in all likelihood by the same people. Sarah' evidence seems to support that theory, though does not, by any means, constitute proof."
She paused again, taking a breath before continuing.

"It is imperative that we find out what happened, why, and who's behind it. Whatever else, it's clear that we're in danger, and the less information we have, the worse that danger is. At this point, one thing we can is explore our abilities- their limits and possibilities- so I agree with the suggestion that we find a place to practice with them."

She looked at Sarah then, wondering if the large tent from that morning would be an option. It was enclosed, but also right in the middle of the circus. Perhaps it might be best to head for the woods instead? They wouldn't be seen there, they could easily run or hide if they needed to and, if anyone's abilities got out of hand, there wouldn't be anyone nearby to ask questions about it.

Zeke sighed as Eira seemed to take what he was saying the wrong way yet again. He wasn't meaning it in terms of control or absolute danger, though in Aileen's case it was. "Eira, your power is constantly active. Without Ibuki to nullify it or myself to reverse the effect entirely, you'd leave a trail directly to us. Same with Aileen. Of all of us, there are seemingly only four abilities that are static. Bai's, Ibuki's, Aileen's and yours. Ibuki and Bai's are still easy to hide though." Zeke thankfully got an agreement about staying close from Bai. Thank goodness I have such a damn good friend. He smiled as he pat her shoulder. "However, once you have control of your ability and can hide it. Do what you want. I'm not your babysitter, nor am I your dad. I'm just worried about all of us here." Zeke sighed. "There's already been enough death and problems in our lives. Let's try and not increase those numbers."

The tales of the experiments sounded familiar, but at the same time outlandish at best. Then Sarah and Nathaniel started talking. Sarah didn't remember sending a message to her father and knowing how important family was to Sarah. Not to mention how important work was. That definitely was a time in which something weird went down. Zeke started thinking back himself. When could they have? Zeke's thoughts exploded as he remembered a weird incident that Valencia had told him about. One time after he left to visit his mom, he ended up not coming back for a week. And all during that time, Zeke wouldn't answer his phone. That was DEFINITELY not right. Zeke would always answer his phone for Valencia. He was her guardian after all.

"I mean, we wouldn't remember it more than likely. If they have the technology to mess with our genetic code like Acantha is suggesting, then what's to stop them from erasing our memories of the events that we experienced? And what's more? Who knows how long the memories they could've erased? I mean, there's supposedly a week in my life where I wouldn't message my little sister, but I don't remember it." Zeke paused for a moment as he thought about it again. I lost a week of memory. And it started when I left to visit my mother. That means they knew about my mom's condition and that I was visiting her regularly. Have they been watching all of us then? Zeke shook his head. Don't think about that. There's people to protect here. You need to master this power of yours Zeke. With it, you could literally have all the time in the world, or heck, maybe you could save your mother. "As for practice, I'm all in favor. Although I probably should eat before we go." Zeke sighed as he got up and grabbed some toast and fruit. If he was going to train his power, not having heavy food in his stomach was probably going to be a better option.

Ibuki vaguely heard Acantha's voice as he ate, it seemed like she was translating for- his eyes located the person in question, his mind scrambling for a name- Sarah. Well, he supposed it made sense the smart scientist girl could understand sign language. Internally sighing, he watched as Zeke introduced himself next, focusing more on the party trick the man showed off rather than what he said. Hearing his name mentioned by Zeke, he started paying attention again. Officially trying to dub me as a bodyguard, huh. A frown of displeasure at the notion graced his face, seeing Zeke point at him for a moment. "I'm not a babysitter," he remarked quietly under his breath, his gaze sharpening into a glare.

Uriel yanking the fork from Zeke distracted him enough to let the matter drop for now. Resuming eating, Ibuki heard, but didn't really listen to Nat's introduction. He was surprised when the other girl that Zeke mentioned didn't turn down Zeke's suggestion for the four of them to stick together- he was hardly an enjoyable personality. These are trying times though, I suppose.

An eyebrow was raised at Eira's rejection, her way of stating the consequences of being unable to control her power was well, understating things. A little bit of cold? She practically almost froze to death last time, he thought incredulously. He decided against calling her out in public though, as fun as imagining her proud stature ruined by shame and embarrassment was.

Learning that their superpowers possibly came from experimentation was a shocking revelation, but it made sense now- being hunted down by the organization that created them. They either want us back or dead. The image of the guns the men from before had flashed in his mind's eye, a warning. Probably the latter option. Calming his nerves, he resisted the sudden urge to laugh- this was what his already shitty life has come to.

Listening to Bai claim that they needed each other made Ibuki feel disgruntled. The idea of him needing anyone was distasteful, but the idea of someone needing him was a whole another ballpark of confusion- no one had ever needed him before, not even his family who treated him like air or just another mouth to feed.

The conversation meandered onward as people relayed mysterious cases of amnesia, suggesting that if they had indeed been experimented on to get these powers, the whole event had been wiped cleanly from their memory. It was strange that the lack of memory hadn't bothered them until now though, most people feel immediately concerned upon realizing they can't recall what they did at all yesterday. He forgot who proposed the idea of practicing utilizing their powers until they had sufficient control over them, but it seemed like most of the group seconded the notion.

Finishing his food, Ibuki sat quietly in his seat, too stuffed for a second plate of food, but unwilling to draw attention to himself by getting up and leaving to return to his tent. They would probably leave the dining area soon enough to go to a different area to practice their powers.

Uriel eat quietly, he didn't have much of an appetite possibly from whatever meds they gave him for the pain but from what he knew eating was the best road to recovery. Nat mention he's abilities, Aileen thought it could be levation. "It's either that, flight or gravity... That last one is utterly terrifying... But we don't need to get into macro-physics here." It was Eira who dropped a bombshell of a concept, that the Sanctorium may be the ones who gave them the abilities that they here now and the 'suicides' were related. He was going to bring up the fact if they were experiments why don't we remember, Bai and Nat beat him to it. If they could give us power it would be childs play to remove memories through amnestics.

Then when did they do it...? This situation was getting worse by the second. He came back as Acantha starting to theorize about genetic mutations and how it could be that could be the most probable cause. "We are all in still in an age of physical development...? Hell with that logic... It more likely whatever they did to us was at a younger age and something recently caused it to become active." That thought gave him a chill down his spine. Experimenting on children, not good at all. "If we are the lucky ones, we need to stop them... It not fair we got to live and get something out it too... I am more ready to learn more about what we can do. Says the boy in a wheelchair..." The last bit coming out more like a whisper then his previous statement. Uriel pushed his plate and gave a determined smile, trying to look more dignified in his current situation.

((So much context, I didn't know who to acknowledge... Sorry for taking soooo long....))

Sarah had sat back, seriously listening to the conversations, and comments unfolding in front of her. She started tapping her finger upon her knee. It was something that she did subconsciously when she was in deep thought. The thing that occupied her mind, at the moment, was their suggestion of needing each other. Sure, it sounded good, but in order to get into that mentality- people needed trust for that to work! Their rag-tag group didn't have that. Plain and simple. A lot of these people seemed to only know each other on the surface level, some seemed to have known each other for years, and then there was her as well- a complete outsider. That's not to say that it couldn't work, just that, it was gonna take some work!

So she had started thinking of a way to get the others onto the right path. Still, they had a common goal to work towards, and that would help them along the way! Sarah smiled a little before shaking herself of her internal monologue and casting a glace at Acantha. She was sure that she would get her meaning at this point. She seemed like an extremely intelligent girl and started signing. "Well, as much as I like sitting around talking about dire conspiracies, I think the best way for this to finally get moving is a show-and-tell!" She smiled at everyone, "I have the perfect place for us to really practice our new found powers! So if you would, please, follow me! Then we can really get this show on the road!" She waited a little longer for people to finish their breakfast before setting out.

She was extremely excited as she led the way towards the place, in which, they would be practicing their abilities! She had only discovered the place by accident a week after moving here. A simple trip into the woods had revealed an old sawmill abandoned by time, a place that had piqued her interest. So, naturally, she had conducted her research! It turned out that Springfield, in and of itself, had once been a very serious logging town. Until decline of old growth logging became a very serious problem. Although, the unchanging state of the small town eventually, caused the decline of the mill. It was able to produce an indispensable resource in their times of need, a place to train, retreat, and just be themselves!

So she led them to the old abandoned building, her heart beating within her chest, as she took in the sight before her. It stood there as a mark in this towns history, forgotten in time, and some areas having been reclaimed by nature. It may have not been very pretty to most, but to her, there was something beautiful about it. They could really turn this place into their own! It was definitely falling apart in some areas, proven by the debris from a collapsed section of the mill, but most of it still stood strong.

So she led them further inside into what seemed to be a main entrance. It looked to have been fairly simple in design. A place you walked into, headed straight back, and got to work. Off to the left was what looked to have been an office, with a counter running along the wall, but was open due to a wall having fallen down. She had been here multiple times and had already started turning it into one of her frequent hang outs.

She had cleaned up most of the area here, shifted some of the debris to other areas, brought in a few items from her room back at the circus. In the office area she had already set up a plastic table, laid a blanket over the top, and had a lawn chair that she had acquired from the circus as well. She had a cooler that didn't have any ice in it, but did contain a few drinks within, and finally she had brought an old boom box that her father had given her set up on the counter. She turned to everyone with a smile on her face, "Well, I know it ain't much, but welcome to my home away from home! Now since I brought you all here then It's only fair for me to showcase my powers first!" She then extended her powers forward, the same feeling of pain pierced her mind like before, although it was a little less this time.

She then focused on an image in her head, of something you wouldn't find here, an animal that she had only seen at a zoo in the past- a giant polar bear. She then willed the image, imagined, that it was right beside her. When she turned her head to make sure, she smiled as there it stood, huffing and grunting just how she remembered. Though she was only able to hold the image for about a minute before the pain got to her. So she cancelled it and proceeded to take a few deep breaths. "Well there you have it," she signed, "the power of illusions." She took a minute afterwards to shut her eyes, the pain really was a bitch to deal with, and then she opened her eyes with a smile. "So! Who wants to go next?"

Location: [Abandoned saw mill]
With: [The group]
Mood: [Embarrassed]

Sarah (through Acantha) offered them a place to practice their abilities. Nat was quite grateful for this, though also slightly worried that it would be somewhere all the circus people could watch them. When she suggested that a more discreet location might be better, he wholeheartedly agreed. When she shared the mysterious text she had apparently sent to her father but didn't remember writing, a chill went down his spine. Could they really all have been kidnapped and experimented on? It was quite a disturbing thought.

Acantha followed up with her assessment of the situation, which was impressive. How does a fifteen-year-old girl get to know so much about genetics? Nathaniel wondered. Once again, he felt thankful that Devin was not around for this conversation, which would have been devastating to him. Acantha emphasized the need for them to find out what happened, which he agreed with, but only insofar as it didn't require them to get into a dangerous situation with those responsable for it.

When Zeke said that Eira's ability would leave a trail directly, to them, Nathaniel thought that was a bit much. After all, she hadn't done so up to this point, and it wasn't like she was freezing everything in sight. Aileen... he didn't know. He doubted it, since he hadn't seen her use her abilities. He thought once again about what a bad friend this made him. Zeke continued to give his assessment (well, really, he was giving people orders, but it obviously came from a place of worry and concern).

Zeke then shared his own concerning piece of information about an entire week missing from his life, and the people responsable apparently being able to erase memories at will, which was quite alarming. Nathaniel tried to think- had something like that happened to him? But, though it was important that he remember, he also felt like he just didn't want to know.

When Uriel suggested that Nathaniel's ability might be control over gravity, and said that the idea was terrifying, Nat blinked, utterly nonplussed- that hadn't even occurred to him. He thought back to his previous two experiences, and started to feel apprehension roiling in his stomach. Manipulating gravity was no joke, and he found himself wishing that what he could do was just levitation.

Uriel's train of thought seemed to get far darker, as he suggested that the experiments had actually occurred when they were children. Nathaniel shuddered at the thought.

Sarah suggested they all head out to get that practice everyone had agreed on, and lead them out of the tent and away from the circus once they'd all finished their food. The abandoned saw mill she brought them to was impressive, old and falling apart but large and imposing somehow. When she demonstrated her ability, Nathaniel gawked as a polar bear materialized before them- that was one heck of a power.

He stepped forward timidly after she was done.

"I guess I'll give it a try, he said, his cheeks reddening.

He closed his eyes, concentrated, and tried to make something happen. He didn't feel anything but, once he opened his eyes, noticed that he was standing on the edge of the slat table, parallel to the ground. The sight was so unnerving that he started to feel a little queazy and, though he tried to maintain control, he soon found himself back on the ground, wincing and rubbing his knees, which had hit the floor hard.

He slowly got back to his feet, not wanting to look any of the others in the eye, worried about getting laughed at.

"Guess I need more practice, huh? he said, ruefully rubbing the back of his head.

OOC: Poor Nathaniel xD

1.jpgBai felt like she had to pinch herself because surely this was a dream. Like she was plucked from reality and placed in a story someone with a wild imagination had concocted. A small town with mysterious happenings. Teens turning up dead. Other teens being attacked by some unknown assailants. Turns out the reason is because those selected teens have super powers. But then it might only be because they were part of a batch of successful experiments done by the big bad guy corporation.

And now it was up to those bands of teens to save everyone.

Well, Bai didn't know how many people were actually affected by the Rose Sanctorium. But this still all sounded like it came out of one of those comic books Bai loved to read at the bookstores. She didn't have the extra money to buy them outright. So the girl would spend hours a couple times every week just reading through comic books at the local bookstore. She always wondered what it would be like to be the main character and here it was!

When the others spoke out about the time gaps in their memories Bai tried to think of a time where her life seemed to have a missing moment of two. But she couldn't think of one. Her lifestyle was normally pretty much the same and since there were livestock to take care of it would be easily noticeable if Bai went missing for even a day.

Bai’s thoughts were interrupted and not long afterwards she found herself being led by Sarah to a safe haven to practice abilities. Bai couldn’t lie. She was kind of excited. Her power had only been discovered this morning. She didn’t know how long it had been active for. Observative wasn’t an adjective that would be used to describe the girl.

After a short trip through the woods they came upon an abandoned sawmill. Although the place had obviously seen better days it seemed perfect for what they wanted to do. Albeit there may have still been some dangers lurking around. Rusted saws were still there and still looked sharp.

Sarah grabbed Bai’s attention once more when she started to demonstrate her powers. Soon there was a large polar bear standing before them. Bai stood there, dumbfounded. The more she saw others powers the less impressive her own seemed to be. Soon the animal was gone and Sarah looked a little out of breath. Bai clapped as if she just got done watching a performance but quickly ceased when she realized she was the only one.

Nathaniel volunteered to go next. His demonstration was a little less impressive. Bai could tell he was still familiarizing himself with his powers. What he did was a little impressive. He just seemed to float and stand on a different surface as if gravity was different for him. It was still interesting. When he hit the ground Bai clapped again, this time a little less enthusiastically.

“That was super cool.” Bai called out. “My turn!”

Bai walked to a stacked pile of tree trunks yet to be trimmed. Each one was probably twelve feet in length and about a foot thick in diameter. Bai wrapped her arms around one and pulled it out from the pile with ease. She was surprised at how light the object felt. It was like she was only lifting a small branch. Once it was out and resting in her arms by shifting it into a position like she was throwing a javelin. With a small grunt she gave it a throw towards the back of the factory.

Bai only expected it to go, maybe a few feet at most, but when it soared through the air and pierced the wall with an ear piercing crunch she shrank back. Something Bai always did when she did something wrong and was ready to be admonished by her father.

The girl slowly turned back towards the group.

“Um...oops. I, literally, don’t know my own strength. I only became aware that I was strong this morning.” Bai quickly walked to stand behind Zeke as if he was a wall that could hide her blushing face from everyone.
