Soviet Panda
Red Panda Commanda.
Project Olympus:
Named after the home of the Greek gods, Project Olympus was the worst case scenario in a human caused apocalypse, nuclear war. 13 cities were constructed, 7 buried within mountains, 4 floating lazily above the clouds atop thunderous engines, and 2 built under the sea, to protect from the massive radioactive fallout that a nuclear war would bring. These cities were then given names based on the 13 major deities of the Greek pantheon. Zeus, Hera, Hestia, Aphrodite, Ares, Demeter, Artemis, Hermes, Hephaestus, Poseidon, Apollo, Dionysus, and Hades. These 13 cities were left to govern themselves and were modern day city-states, independent from their host nation but willing to cooperate with them. Then, the apocalypse happened.
The Atomic Apocalypse:
The last of the 13 cities of Project Olympus had been finished, and served as a kind of warning to the rest of the world. That should a worldwide nuclear war happen, what's left of humanity would be resigned to living in those 13 cities, with limited contact with each other (only the 4 floating cities being their ties to each other and the outside world), for however long it would take for the radiation to drop to a habitable level. Yet for some, it took away the threat of completely wiping out the whole of humanity. It only took a couple thousand and the gene pool would not shrink to dramatically if at all as the world was repopulated.
The Great yet Forgotten War.
Nuclear radiation has caused some of the digital records to go hazy at the time of the Great War, those that have lived during it have long since died, and whatever written records exist have been buried away so deep in the cities that it would not be surprising to hear about their accidental destruction. For example, who started it is unknown, or why. This has given the Great War another name, the Forgotten War, for all of the important events about it have been either lost or forgotten.
Technology:
Since the advent of the Atomic Apocalypse, the 13 cities have managed to survive and even advance technology. Robotic limbs are common place, and sometimes a willing replacement. Alongside robotic limbs came augmentations, enhancing the natural gifts that a person already had to greater heights, not to mention it didn't force the receiver to remove something of theirs. Holograms have taken off as well, and have effectively replaced screens.
The Cities:
Most, if not all, of the 13 have become corrupt and more or less run by super corporations. The largest and most powerful of these corporations being Advanced Humanity, an augmentation and robotics firm headed by Xander Tuet. Xander, always prideful and one for show, has placed his headquarters in the floating city of Zeus.
Where You Come In:
You come from one of the few cell groups that has seen this wide spread corruption and want to do something about it. Former business men, mercenaries, vigilantes, and street thugs. All are welcomed in this attempt to over throw the super corporations and to instate a new form of government, hopefully one that will last long enough for humanity to recover and figure something out then.
