The competitive sport of PokéRush has taken the world by storm, rivaling the popularity of even pokémon battles! Originating in Unova some fifty-odd years back, it quickly established footholds in the other regions by way of advancements in global trade and technologies, and is now an international phenomenon recognized by all. It didn't take long for the regional governments of the world to band together and establish the GRL—the Global Rush League—in an effort to elevate the sport to even greater heights!

Officially sanctioned competitions and tournaments are held annually—both regional and international—to determine the best of the best from all over and to continually spread the love of the sport all the while increasing global commerce to an extraordinary degree. Teams that have proven themselves champions are offered sponsorships by major brands such as the Devon Corporation or Silph Co., making their commitment to the sport into a very tangible and lucrative career path.

And now it is your turn to step onto the field! Will your passion for the sport help you to become the very best? A new world of Pokémon awaits! Feel the rush!
    Crimson
    Caits
    Small Beginnings...
In the quaint seaport of Crimson City located in the Kanto region, a fire begins to stir... Long since has the town been known for its beautiful sapphire waters and tranquil maritime breeze, but—in the world of competitive PokéRush—it is seen as little more than a barren wasteland; unable to bear the fruit of talent. The town's official team, the Crimson Caits, has forgo any notion of becoming a reputable contender for regional championship, sinking into quiet obscurity.

But with the old guard set to retire, perhaps new blood will breath life into the impassioned flames of competition. As try-outs begin to form a new generation of the Crimson Caits, an unskilled yet ambitious young man and his partner hope to break the yoke of their misfortunes and finally fulfill a long-awaited dream. But a Rush team is comprised of six; this is a game that cannot be won alone. Rush full-speed ahead toward a new era of the Crimson Caits!

What an intriguing take, I’m definitely intetested

Hiya. Love the idea but quick question.
I've got an idea for a kinda trickster Rusher who feigns he has the ball with his Pokemon so he pushes ahead with his Geodude or Voltorb, or maybe has his Pokemon use a move like Will-o-Wisp or something so it looks like he has the ball, tricking the other team and letting his fellow rusher and the team get so points unabated. He'll most likely usr his Pokemons other moves to enhance the effect (Mud-Shot, Sand attack etc to disguise the ball making a Geodude a viable decoy).
Would that be feasible Blu Blu ?

A Rusher who specializes in decoy tactics sounds really cool, I like this idea. I can think of fun situations like your character dual wielding the actual ball and your pokemon at the same time or splitting up the opposing team by forcing them to chase one Rusher or the other.

Probably something like Forward, maybe Rusher, but it's a hard decision

If Twist is locked down on Rusher, I'd definitely like to see a Forward imo

What would you expect post wise? Once a week? Couple of paragraphs? Blu Blu

Yep once a week minimum and I don't care about length as long as it's enough for others to respond to but definitely no one-liners.

Hi! I love this idea, I'd be interested in playing the Middle Vanguard

I'm thinking a water-type specialist. Sure he could compete in the water specific variant of the sport, but...

"anybody can use a water-type pokémon in a water sport. It takes a real water-type master to dominate even on land"

Since we would be competing against other Kanto teams at first, perhaps he could even find a rival in a team from Cerulean City

Oh water-types will be getting some love. My character's first mon will also be a water-type although his team will be diversified (it's just his main partner). And the Cerulean rival sounds like a fun idea, I'm all for it!

I've crossed out the roles that've been reserved. After Mirai-chan Mirai-chan and Squad141 Squad141 have decided, we'll have 1 spot left for the full team.

Mangos Mangos Welcome aboard! Do you have an idea of what position you'd play?

Finally have a day off to work on the character thread but, while I do that, I wanted to ask if you guys prefer a discord ooc or just a standard ooc thread on the site?

Last thing, I've added some changes to the Rush rules that I'll mention here:
1. The vitality band now regenerates pokemon health after a minute of not getting hit by an attack (again this is simply flavor and not an actual mechanic).
2. Dropping any enemy pokemon's health by one stage (Green --> Yellow; Yellow --> Red; Red --> K.O.) will force a ball steal. This gives more stealing opportunities so Forwards and Rushers on defense can get the ball easier. Especially Forwards will benefit and have their role expanded because of this as they can engage any enemy mons.

I think a discord might work, but that's only my personal preference. And, I'll probably take Right Forward

I'm interested.

Ahh good old Misuteeku! ^^ Would be happy to have you, but all the starting positions are filled on the team so if you want, you can play a backup member that would sub in for any role on the team if needed? Or any other concept you can come up with?
