  PARADISE LOST ​

  
  

  
  The drilling station offshore Tjahaya, an island in Southeast Asia, was advertised as being the most modern and environmentally friendly drilling station in the world. Equipped with the latest technology in drilling, it started its operation several months ago, drilling deep into the South China Sea for what is expected going to be the largest oil supply in the world.
  
  But on one fateful night, when they dig too fast and too deep to fulfill their deadline, they disturbed something slumbering beneath.
  
  It all came suddenly.
  
  At first, a strong earthquake that lasted for just a couple of minutes. It was followed by a giant explosion, the fireball visible from miles away. And then a loud monstrous roar, and the towering shadow of a behemoth crawling closer. Closer. Thump. Thump. THUMP.

  Whether you are a police, military, or scientist, what occursed is like something out of fever dream, or something that you hallucinate when you are drunk, or dreamt in a nightmare.   THE BASICS
  RPN rules apply, obviously. No godmodding, no puppetting other characters, no single liner (please write at least a whole paragraph!)

  CHARACTERS
  Due to the nature of the story, there will be injuries and / death. Of course, the eventual fate of your characters is left to you alone, and feel to work with other players or DM me to engineer a situation. Each person only has the maximum slot of 2 characters. If one of them dies, you may create a new character.

  What happen if I lose interest?
  That is absolutely fine and something natural to do, but I would appreciate it very much if you can tell us about it and give your characters a proper ending to their story, instead of having them killed "off-screen" so to say.

In case it wasn't clear, the only plot is: SURVIVE

There is no way to stop the Creature, there is no way to fight the Creature, and you can't stay hiding for there is something else hunting for survivors. Whether it is by riding a boat or a plane to escape the island itself, or to find a way to lure the monster away or repel it from the island. There are many ways for the characters to end, and for the plot to be resolved.

As the GM, I play as a handful of important NPCs (the Creature included) and set things in motion. I encourage the players to think of ideas and talk about them with the other players and me, as I am more than willing to tweak the original plot and add in interesting ideas generated by the players!

Tjahaya is inspired by Madripoor in MCU, so expect something like that (tone down the crime, tone up the vacation island vibe), roughly the size of Singapore
